Five Star Reviews: | 66% Compact, decent taste, nice alternative to plain water September 19, 2016 I've eliminated carbs in my bottles for rides under 3 hours unless it is a very hard VO2 session. But, having a little flavor and fizz in there is a nice distraction and there is some data that the taste of sweet on the tongue, even w/o the calories of the carbohydrates, allows you to push through. So, I usually drop half a tab to a tab per 16 oz bottle. Not expecting any performance improvement, just doing it for the flavoring. On long solo outings, where you will have access to water but don't want to carry your own powder mix, carrying these tabs is so much cleaner and convenient. You just need to carry calories separately as solid or gels. Fantastic Product September 15, 2014 I purchased a tube of NUUN from my local running store. I love this product and it is cheaper to purchase online then individually in the store. I do like the fact that it is low in calories and sugar contents along with the necessary replacements. I initally purchased because I'm training for my first half marathon and on long runs I needed the replacement fuel. However I now use it when I go to bootcamp and after short runs. Whether Psychological or Physiological These Things Work Excellent On Rain Forest Runs & Rides July 27, 2014 I am not sure if its psychological or if physiologically due to these tabs or a little of both, but after i have started to use them I feel like my exercising and performance and recovery time seems to have drastically improved.Lets paint the picture, I am roughly 6'1" and 235 lbs. I currently am doing an expat for work for a few years in Singapore which is roughly on the equator in Asia in a very humid and tropical rain forest climate.I roughly (5) times a week do trail runs and/or mountain bike rides in jungle for anywhere from 1-3 hours per outing. Having done roughly the same thing prior to using these tablets it would be very painful towards the end, and on rare occasion i would feel light headed, even though i would drink tons of water.Adding these supplements seem to have improved both my physical performance both in time and distance and my post exercise recovery seems to be better as well.My process is that prior to exercising I take a Hammer Nutrition Endurolyte Pill and then use the NUUN Tablets in my camelbak as well as adding to my post workout cooldown water consumption. Great way to try out all the flavors! April 24, 2014 I would definitely recommend this product to first time users of NUUN. It's a good way to try out all the flavors they have to offer and then pick a few favorites to re-order from there. I'm a big fan of the strawberry lemonade! The product quality was just as expected and it shipped fast. Definitely would purchase from this company again. LOVE NUUN OTHER December 15, 2013 I have dysautonomia and I was told about this product by others with dysautonomia. I used to drink Gatorade or Powerade to help with my electrolytes. I usually drink two a day. I've been feeling a little better since I've done this. I also love that it's low in calorie as well. | 81% Awesome for exercise and they thwart hangovers September 14, 2017 These things are incredible! I agree with the others that say they are better than the Salt Stick brand. Those are also quite good, but Rehydr8 is better. I have used both extensively and for three purposes. First, they are great for rehydration during and after exercise. I am an avid hiker and will take these with me on hikes. I'll have a few before the hike, a few here and there as a I go, and then two or three afterwards (following the instructions). They make a HUGE different in terms of thwarting cramps. Similarly, I do a lot of travel to Yucatan where it is hotter than the hinges of hell. I sweat all day even if I am not doing anything strenuous. I have woken up in the morning with awful cramps. Not any more thanks to these rehydration pills. Lastly, they do absolutely AMAZING things to thwart a hangover. I am not a big drinker at all, but once or twice a year I find myself at a great party and like to throw back enough that a hangover would be in my future. But, for a few years now I'll treat the party as a hike - a few Rehydr8s before, have some with water between beers, and then take a few before bed with more water and a good multivitamin and VOILA! No hangover, even for someone who isn't used to it and doesn't drink much. for other types of exercise rather than running long distances May 18, 2017 It's a good product. It does what it's supposed to. It's a good product because it's the best for its price and quantity I found. It comes with plenty of pills. I assure you that you won't get cramps.Just know though, that If you're a serious runner; I do not recommend these. They don't offer an immediate reaction. The gel capsule has to be dissolved first by your stomach acid. That takes some time. Runners need immediate electrolytes. In that case, it is best a liquid form of electrolyte.I got these for running, they do a a good job, but not an excellent one for me. You need to take them thirty minutes ahead of time, so you'll always need to remind yourself. With such a dose you will get about five miles. After that I experienced the need of more electrolytes; and I was not going to pause to swallow more capsules. It would be interrupting. Firstly having to pause your exercise, secondly having to open the bottle, and thirdly having to swallow one or two pills. Uncomfortable. Then, the capsule would take effect until half an hour later, therefore you couldn't keep on running. With that being said, maybe it's not exellwnt for long distance runners.Tips.It's best to take on empty stomach with a sip of water (Not so much if planning to run afterwards). Digestion of capsule is faster. Then the white powder will be in your system faster. It will take take somewhat longer if you combine the capsules with food.In my opinion these are of good quality, and at a good price. I recommend these for other types of exercise rather than running long distances. Less pain, more run. May 8, 2017 I am a big guy who maintains weight by running 25+ miles a week. Many times I have been nearly crippled by intense cramping. Rehydr8 has helped me to not experience that anymore. A friend introduced me to the product and I am very thankful. I have tried many other solutions with limited success, this has fixed my issue. Looking forward to my next ultra with it.Steven I bought for training but it works for Hangovers! May 1, 2017 I have owned a bottle of these for about 2 months. After running a marathon and cramping up at mile 10 it was suggested that I take some sort of salt tablets. I looked and researched the reviews here on Amazon and got these. Needless to say 2 months in I am very satisfied. I pop 1-2 tablets before and during my runs and I do not find myself cramping. Perhaps it is all mind games but for me it has worked.During the same 2 month duration I have also taken these pills pre and post party. Lets face it I like to drink sometimes. I will have a few beers during sports seasons and a glass of wine. I drink hard liquors on occasion. And an afterproduct of drinking is the hangover. I find that taking 1-2 pills before I drink and 1-2 pills after with some water and the next morning I feel a lot better. I would wake up with headaches and nausea but these pills help prevent that sort of thing (at least for me).Ill be buying these same exact pills again for the reasons I specified above. Better deal + formulation vs. Saltstick caps! April 26, 2016 Was very happy to find a somewhat more economical alternative to Saltstick caps, which literally seem to be price-fixed (they are NEVER on sale anywhere) at $0.22 per cap, which really adds up when taking 6-10 per day for POTS (orthostatic intolerance). The only other alternatives are 1 gram unbuffered salt pills which are very hard for a kid to swallow and also hard on the stomach or Thermotabs, which are half cornstarch and so just as large / hard to swallow as the 1 gram salt pills but with only half the NaCl so twice as many need to be taken. These caps also have higher Magnesium and Potassium content vs. Saltsticks, which may be helpful for those on Florinef, which can deplete Magnesium and Potassium... It works! November 19, 2015 This Rapid Rehydr8 works for me. i was getting tightness in my hamstrings when i run sometimes and this helps,i take one before and one aftera run. so far it has been great Thank you |
Four Star Reviews: | 11% Great product- multiple size availability would be better August 11, 2016 It made a big difference at the end of my bike ride or work day. No longer feel wiped out after hours of sweating- in the sun or not in extreme heat. I just wish the tablets were small enough to fit in a smaller water bottle or split enough to use different size containers. Great product, I've been on adventure races June 24, 2016 Great product, I've been on adventure races, triathlons and mtb races and this product has helped me when I am dehydrated. The only downside is that as time goes by they get a weird after taste. These are a great source of electrolytes during and after activities December 29, 2015 These are a great source of electrolytes during and after activities. I personally use them for hydration when feeling sick and to speed up hangover recoveries. I also use them for their intended purpose when playing tennis and other sports. The sodium and potassium in the tablets give the drinks a salty taste and the tablets dissolving gives a carbonated effect. They are something that might take time to adapt to, but work better than any other sports drink option. Love these December 2, 2015 Love these more than any other I have tried. The triple berry and strawberry lemonade is my favorite. Cost is great compared to other brands. You cant go wrong. I recommend getting a variety pack to see which flavor you like best. I really like this product May 17, 2015 I really like this product! And love a variety however I did give away 3 tubes as I didn't care for some of the flavors. Now I know which ones to purchase in the future. I usually will have this post run and it helps with the probably dehydration after running 2+ hours. I eat beans/stingers during the run so I tend to stick just to water and leave this for after. Didn't expect it to taste so good .. February 3, 2014 I bought this product for my daughter to try. She struggles with staying hydrated and hates the taste of water. Surprisingly she liked it. The variety pack gives you an opportunity to try flavors we wouldn't necessarily buy. | 12% 5 miles I've tried many products and I'd say Elite Sportz Salt Pills are the next best thing to pickle juice April 17, 2017 The Elite Sportz Salt Pills have provided noticeable relief from my cramping. I'm a long distance runner and normally I can't go more than 8 miles without drinking pickle juice. I've completed two runs with the Salt Pills and have been able to run 8 &13.5 miles I've tried many products and I'd say Elite Sportz Salt Pills are the next best thing to pickle juice. I would recommend this product. I tried Rapid Rehydr8 before a 50 mile bike ride ... March 28, 2017 I tried Rapid Rehydr8 before a 50 mile bike ride. I took one every hour and I didn't cramp up. However, I did notice my blood pressure was a little higher after the ride. I'm still experimenting with it, but so far, it works well. Pretty Good. Probably Best If You Aren't Constantly Fainting March 17, 2017 I think I have POTS. I faint amd get suoer dizzy all the time, with heart rate increasing thirty points well into tachycardia range when I go from sotting to standing. One one ofmthese is not enough. Several is more helpful. I have seen other items not as easily portable though. So far I am very happy with it December 10, 2016 Seems to do the job and works well. I have used a product by Hammer that I trusted for a very long time but the last time purchased it, it was different and I could not even stomach it so I was looking for a replacement when I found this product. So far I am very happy with it. Did what it's supposed to do. July 24, 2016 You should never expect miracles from any product. I can also say that I am about as far from a true athlete as you can get. However, I can say that this product did help me finish a Spartan Sprint on Blue Mountain on a extremely hot day. Being sure to follow directions and hydrate properly certainly didn't hurt, but I only had minor cramping in my legs which did not last long. There may be better rated performance products, but this definitely worked for me. Would recommend for athletes October 21, 2015 Unclear the effectiveness, but use these in combination with electrolyte drinks when riding bike or running long distances, especially if it's race day. So, I would recommend if you are involved in triathlons, duathlons, or just enjoy 50plus mile bike rides where you can't carry a lot of food with items with you. |
Three Star Reviews: | 5% COLORED WATER?? February 8, 2016 i HAVE BEEN USING THIS, HOWEVER, I AM NOT CONVINCED IT DOES ANYTHING EXCEPT TO COLOR THE WATER. I DO NOT FEEL ANY PEP IN MY STEP. | 4% Three Stars June 27, 2017 now easy to swallow is not true it a horse pill very big but everthing else good. Good for People with Constipation Issues March 16, 2017 One side effect of this pill is that it causes frequent bowel movements. I couldn't really tell if it made a difference in my overall endurance and blood pressure, because I was so busy running to the bathroom every five minutes. I weigh about 115 lbs, so maybe the pill was just too strong for me. Will keep taking it and see if it works any better in the days ahead January 31, 2017 Used it this week after receiving my shipment. Took as directed, but it did not prevent my muscle from cramping after moderate exercise. Will keep taking it and see if it works any better in the days ahead. Thanks. Dave Hajra Pill casing does not hold up December 14, 2016 poor substitute for SaltSticks. I mainly use salt tabs for long distance races and long OCR races.I brought these along for a 40mile race. I had them in a small poly bag & within 6miles nearly all of the tabs have broken open - I've never had this issue with SaltSticks. The contents of the pill might be good, but the casing is terrible. Works, but the capsules fall apart to easy. July 15, 2016 I would have given it 5 stars of the capsules were better made. They open easy, and the powder seems to makes its way out. The product does work, and seems to work well. |
Two Star Reviews: | 4% Two Stars July 18, 2016 I don't like the taste as well as the original and only 10 to a tube makes them pricey. Ok so my original review was five stars until I ... December 29, 2015 Ok so my original review was five stars until I noticed some swelling issues. The sodium is high in these tablets and if you have two or more a day plus food, you will bloat and swell. Even eating clean and just having two a day I had a hard time putting my rings on my fingers. Nuun won't be a daily ritual anymore, nope. Two Stars September 18, 2015 One of the tubes did not have it's safety seal, so I was unable to use that one. Alkaseltzer March 11, 2015 The taste reminded me of Alkaseltzer. I got the variety pack in case I didn't like one of the flavors. While they all have a flavor, there is still an unmistakable Alkaseltzer taste to all of them. | 1% Non-athlete take on electrolyte pills August 22, 2017 Purchased as a cheaper alternative to SaltStick and haven't noticed a difference. I am not an athlete, and I don't take these to do specific activities. I live in hot and humid Washington DC and generally can't seem to get my electrolytes balanced. I suffered from chronic mild dehydration for years and am just now learning to stay properly hydrated with water and electrolytes. Summer had been a struggle for me until I found these pills. I take one at night before bed and one in the morning with a full glass of water. Then, any time I sweat during the day, I take a pill and drink water to recover. They have been a miracle for making it easier to tolerate the heat and humidity. I no longer get dehydrated or suffer from nausea on very hot days.UPDATED: After a few weeks, I did notice a difference. These pills simply don't work as well as the Saltstick ones. I was still dehydrated although the extra magnesium in the formulation made me very... regular. I ended up buying the Saltsticks again. Messy March 31, 2017 Product works as expected but disappointed in the powdery mess in the bottle. Others mentioned it but didn't think it would be a big deal. Gets worse the deeper into the bottle you get. Probably going back to Salt Stick Caps. It seems that the potential recommended use of 24 capsules per a three hour tennis ... May 15, 2015 It makes me wonder and suspicious why there was a label placed on the bottle, upside down, and with a part of the written words blacked out by black ink. Was this an afterthought by someone whether it should appear or not? Also, the diagonal stripes through the supplement facts on bottle made it impossible to read some of the ingredients. It seems that the potential recommended use of 24 capsules per a three hour tennis match (not uncommon in tournaments) is questionable in my mind, maybe not yours.I would appreciate some feedback about my concerns now that I have responded to your request.Charles MorrisEllington, CT |
One Star Reviews: | 14% Then they changed the formulation and they are horrible! The taste is now overrun by non-sugar additives September 23, 2016 I was a NUUN addict, these were the only hydration/electrolyte tabs I could tolerated and even made me want to drink water! Then they changed the formulation and they are horrible! The taste is now overrun by non-sugar additives; perhaps it is the monk fruit? I believe the company was sold by the original founders. Very disappointing and I'm searching for a replacement product. Not as pictured... September 20, 2016 If I could give this no stars I would. I was trying to stock up on the OLD Nuun formula since the brand just switched over to a disgusting 'diet'-tasting update, but once the package arrived I found that it was the new formula (Nuun Active). The image is totally misleading. Don't buy this product if you are wanting the old/original Nuun product. Maybe one day they'll realize how much the new one (Nuun Active) sucks and go back to the old one. Disappointed and Disheartened August 8, 2016 I'm disappointed in the formula change and will not be purchasing any more of the new flavor. I have started actively searching for a new electrolyte replacement source for marathon training and other activities. I will also make sure to not recommend this product when friends and acquaintances ask what I use when training.I'm also disheartened that the number of tabs decreased in each tube while it appears the price was not. I understand business and feel the new formula and decrease in tabs was a bad move. Misleading pics and info June 16, 2016 This is misleading. All of the answers state these tubes have 12 tabs/tube, which is the old Nuun. Additionally, the tubes pictures don't have the "new and improved" banner on the top, which leads you to believe these are the old Nuun. It's not - this is the new Nuun. Just keep it in mind if you're like me, who does not like the new Nuun. which are just terrible. This is false advertising June 13, 2016 This wasn't the original Nuun flavors, which are delicious in every way. It was the new "active" version, which are just terrible. This is false advertising, as the image clearly shows the original bottles and not the "active" versions. Bait and switch? June 7, 2016 This is for the new and terrible Active, not the great original. There are two fewer tabs per tube to go along with a very disappointing changed formula. It was my favorite form of hydration, now I will no longer be buying any form of Nuun. | 2% These pills did the opposite of what they are supposed ... June 30, 2017 These pills did the opposite of what they are supposed to do. I used them a couple of times and every time I seemed to cramp up faster on my rides than usually. The taste is so bad I can barely choke them down August 24, 2016 The taste is so bad I can barely choke them down. Not sure why I still do since they provide absolutely no benefit although they do leave a nasty aftertaste. This Salt is Basically table salt February 3, 2016 This isn't the salt thats really good for you.I wish I didn't read the reviews and buy it.Its basically table salt, you need sea salt for the minerals. The people that wrote "the first product that does what it says diffidently worked for the company.I don't write bad reviews normally but this product isn't good for you. 6250% vitamin D RDA for a 5-hour bike ride? Really? October 3, 2015 I wish I had known ahead of time that each capsule contains 250% of the RDA (1000IU) of vitamin D- that's far too much to safely consume up to "6 capsules per hour during exercise". In hot conditions, I need about 1000mg sodium per hour (5 capsules), so over a 5-hour ride I would get (250%x5x5)=6250% RDA vitamin D? Shame on me for not reading the label online more carefully before purchasing. This stuff may be dangerous if you use more than a few capsules. Manufacturer asked for a 5-star review (2 emails) and they are getting a 1-star review for being so insistent.. It's despicable when a company feels the need to cajole and remind customers to produce a product review, and makes me question the rest of the reviews here. One Star September 10, 2015 Sorry, but the pill had the ex act opposite of its purpopse: I got severe cramps ! |
