These really sound great and have a nicer tone than I expected. Plenty of volume. I may tone down the finish a little. They stick out like a sore thumb because they are so bright an new. They do look like a fresh piece of granite I must say and I had family asking behind my back..."I hear music but where is it coming from?'

great sound. Actually too loud which is a good problem and in stereo. Great value and good size (not too large)

These sound great with my Yamaha receiver.....

These have an amazing sound range for as small as they are. I used them in my animated Christmas light display and they sounded great. Smaller than I was thinking, but that is a good thing as they were easy to "hide in plain sight."

work awesome I only needed to so I gave two away which was a big hit to my friend. Not crazy about the light gray color so I painted them to match my deck

As usual, the purchase experience good, product arrived as forecasted and the speakers, for being small, sound really good, which was a concern I had when ordering.

These Polk Audio Atrium 4 Ourtdoor Spearker I will use in my new house, in the backyard. I have used these speakers in previous homes I have lived in. The sound is excellent and easy to install.

just hooked these speakers and i'm very pleased especially with this price point they sound amazing. i may review these same speakers in the future since my install is only 400 feet from the ocean i'm concerned with rust and corrosion, but other reviews made me think these will work for me

These are great! Good bass. I have them installed on an 8x10 covered patio. I am very satisfied. Easy to mount. They are in corners. I will buy another pair for the courtyard. Thanks Polk Audio!!!

Replaced a 10+ year old Russound 2-way speaker set with these that the 4" driver finally went bad. These sound very good and the mounting bracket had the same hole placement - even better! They have a little less bass than the Russound but that is getting picky - really have a good sound. Would recommend.

fantastic speakers for outdoors!

I purchased these and installed them on the back of my house where our new deck is. The sound quality is great! They are the perfect size and weight for what I needed. No mounting hardware/screws comes with them, which for the price, I would have expected, but luckily I had what I needed. They seem very solid and durable. Now, lets see how they do over the winter. I will probably put shower caps over them to help protect them.

These function well and blend into the raised bed where we put them.

Appear to work just fine. No issues so far and sound is nice, deep and full.

Really like these! The sound is decent, and they look great in the yard. I have other speakers that are indoor/outdoor, but not rated for direct weather like these are, that sound better, though. I had to adjust these on the receiver settings to be louder to match the others, but they're still pretty good.

Good sound - work great outside!

The sound is very clear and sound clean. There isn't too much bass but I like the overall sound of the speakers

They are 4" speakers, and as such, have the bass response of a 4" speaker. For me, that is perfect because I have them mounted on the side of the garage pointed toward the pool and I don't want to bother the neighbors. I also have 2 inside the garage for when I'm working on things.If you want more bass response, you could get a sub, but I'd probably actually recommend just getting the atrium 6 instead. Unless you are out in the middle of nowhere, what you want is generally "a more balanced sound" not "The sound from a 4" speaker + a ton of extra bass".Mounting bracket is very nice, the screw on caps are very easy to take on/off. Little bit awkward to pull the speaker out of the bracket once it's in, you have to pull the two bracket pieces apart somewhat.Included are instructions for painting the speakers. I didn't bother.I plan to take these down during winter but otherwise leave them up 24/7. They are totally under the eaves of my garage and that's about all the protection I'm thinking they will need. Time will tell, however.I recommend the MediaBridge full-copper wire. I got the AmazonBasics wire that amazon paired with this at first and it was copper clad aluminum. I sent it back*Update August 2017*: They survived the last year with minimal protection and still sound great, haven't shown any signs of rust or any other deterioration. I used gold/brass right angle banana ports to shield my copper cable and left those sitting out over winter with no issue. I took the speakers in for the winter. More and more I'm wishing I went with the 6" for the bass response, at least for the ones in my garage, but for what it is I still maintain that they are fantastic speakers

Good imaging and clarity, but bass is a bit disappointing. Maybe I should have bought the Kickers. Then again, they are for outside.While the binding posts look like 5 way that work w/ banana plugs, they don't.I run these off zone 2 of a Denon 3312ci. I mounted them horizontally.

I was torn between giving these a four or a five star review. I chose four simply because I know that there are better speakers out there but not for the price. I bought a set of those Dual $35 speakers and I was disappointed. I wanted something with a little more boom to them and I found that here. Polk will deliver with crisp sound quality and a bit of boom.If you put any work into your sound system don't settle for less!

Purchased these speakers for a fairly large outdoor area (deck). I wanted good quality sound, and speakers that would put out sufficient volume with a pleasing tone to be easily audible. I wanted to hear the same and simultaneous sound outside as inside, without too much degradation in volume. These speakers (while not "overly large") helped me accomplish that with their 4" speaker and 89db sensitivity. I recommend them enthusiastically!

They look ok but not very much volume compared to the last ones I had.

Not enough bass in these speakers for me

Ad (and enclosed literature) both mention "Woofers are 4.5" Poly Mica 8ohm Drivers" and "Ferro Fluid Cooled Soft Dome Tweeters"...This is a COAXIAL speaker, there is no seperate tweeter...accurate description of the SPEAKERS in a SPEAKER seems reasonable to me.

the speaker size is too small to get a good sound out of it,, i should have picked speaker with 8 inch woofer , this one is only four inches ,, the highs are ok ,, but Bass, almost not there

I returned this product because it was a Bluetooth. I bet the speakers are excellent if you aren't looking for the Bluetooth connection.

Really Nice speakers

Nice small speakers. Easy to install. But you pay for what you get. The sound quality is just average, lack of base due to the size of the speaker.

Sound not even close to as good as some of the reviews stated. I prefer my Bose.

I use these indoor and the look and sound well

Just installed these on the covered patio. I ordered these 4's by accident. They sound much more muffled then the Atrium 5 that I have installed on the boat. If all you want is background music and you don't notice sound separation then these are fine. They feel like they are built fine and will last but the sound quality is marginal.

Using them for outdoor patio under our eves. They are not as efficient as I would have thought.

Installed these on my boat with a Dual AMB600w 240 watt receiver and they can't handle the 60 watts going to them. Was pretty surprised considering their 80 watt rating. Going to use them a little more before I determine if I will be returning them. I will update my review accordingly...JB

Were not loud enough.

Not loud enough at all Was a waste of my money

I should have known. The price was very good (too good). These were meant to replace four old Costco rock speakers. Two were blown, so I thought I'd just replace them all. They have very little bass response as they are so small. If you just want sound out where you're working, they'll work fine (if they work). Two of mine stopped and I still haven't gotten them to work. I wouldn't buy them again.

For what they are they were not bad sounding speakers, I did not expect them to be exceptional sound so I was not disappointed in that but I blew one speaker after 6 mos of use and the other made it 9 mos. They are not being driven by a high power receiver and were never played at a monstrous volume but both have a distinct crackle to them now. Again for what they are price wise you should not expect too much.

No bass save your money

CANT TURN VOLUME UP ON THESE SOUND QUALITY GETS REALLY DISTORTED

Purchased these in 2014. Installed under roof eaves. Lasted until a few weeks ago when one started sounding distorted.I never played these at a excessive volume.Today its gone. No sound at all. They sounded good while they lasted, but at this price, I was hoping for more that a year and a half.

After half a year one of my speakers went and when I tried to contact Polk they never got back to me. A she they sound nice when they did work but now stuck w only one speaker. Hello customer service I'm waiting....

One speaker has already started popping and crackling. Can't play them over 60% on an 80 watt system. Maybe I just got a bad speaker, the other one is fine.

Junk don't buy them lasted 4 months

Very cheap looking. I open the box and sent them right back. But the seller was great with shipping and my return just the product I was not happy with at all.

We bought these and two months after install, two speakers burnt out. These speakers advertise as 250 watts RMS I installed them in series parallel to one channel on an Amp that is 8 ohms and 1000 watts Max, so either the speakers are not really good quality or they don't really have the specs they advertised.

My Bad, they were too small and blew them out.

When the speakers arrived they were much smaller than I thought and sound quality is not very good. May want to look at other options before ordering

Junk, all they do is blow. I have to order new speakers to replace the ones these come with. Order higher wattage.

I installed the speakers in June 2017. I have them connected to a receiver on my dock. The volume is set on the receiver, so that it can only be adjusted within certain limits so not to blow the speakers. In late August I plugged my IPhone into the receiver and the speakers were blown. I would not recommend these speakers,

Not even close to the quality that I expected.

This is the SECOND time I have purchased these speakers....the first didn't last a year and this last time I actually purchased warranty and both died at same time. As a 56 year old lady I dont crank up the speakers but they are ABSOLUTE JUNK!!!!! Do not buy they are crap!!!

1 of 2 speakers sounds awful return to amazon.

I purchased these specifically for my pool area. Installed them under my eaves on my pool house. Snaked all my wires and hooked them up to a Yamaha receiver. 3 days later my left speaker blew and within minutes the right one blew as well! I immediately contacted the seller and they have shipped me a new pair. I have a feeling I'll be returning those as well. They did sound great for the 3 days that they worked though. Overall I'm pretty disappointed in the quality....Edit... so i received my new pair and once again they have blown! These Atrium 4 are GARBAGE! If I could give them zero stars I would! I'm so disappointed. Of to the UPS store I go once again!

As i first opened the box, I was excited to receive 4 of these speakers, specially after the appraisal it had with reviewers on amazon. I really follow on reviews so I instantly purchased 2 pairs. When I hooked them up to the 4000watt amplifier and mixer, I tried to make a sound test. As soon as it went on, two speakers gave frequency sounds and didn't work properly. The other two are perfectly fine, but there are two that just out of the box had a problem. Beware of defects.
