I’ve only used the heater for a week, but I really like it. I’m in a small office that is so quiet, you really can hear a pin drop. Initially I purchased a small, ceramic heater from Walmart. It didn’t sound that loud when I tested it at home but when I used it in the office, it was super loud. I couldn’t believe such a small heater could make such a loud noise. I then purchased the Vornado. The Vornado is NOT whisper quiet, but the noise isn’t bad. It’s more of a white, background noise. I keep it under my desk. It produces enough heat to keep me comfortable without burning my legs and so far it hasn’t tripped the circuit breaker.

I bought this for my office which feels like a meat freezer most of the day. It works really well and is relatively quiet. I like that it has two heat settings as well as a fan only setting. There is a little "foot" that will turn the heater off if it gets knocked over or picked up, which is nice for safety. The design is modern, stays clean and goes with most office decor.

Bought this as a gift for Christmas. Person loved it. It's super simple to use, not too big so it doesn't take up a lot of space, and it heats up your room or hallway very fast and leaves you nice and cozy :) only thing I wish it did was oscillate, but that's not too big of a deal. I'd recommend this to someone who gets cold a lot or if you have a cold room that needs some warmth :) and it doesn't use a lot of electricity so it's great

First thing I wanna say is wow. This little thing is amazing. I had my doubts about buying this product, but said screw it and purchased anyway because of the affordable price, and boy was I glad I did. I use this heater in my bedroom because it's where I stay the most. I feel there is no need to heat entire house when I am only in one spot 90% of my time.Pros:1. It's small and very portable.2. It has a safety feature on the bottom of the unit that shuts the unit off completely if tipped over, or comes detached from the floor.3. It has a high and low setting. Both work very well.4. Great for small rooms such as bedrooms, offices, etc.5. It has a fan setting.6. It's affordable.Cons:1. It blows out a smelly odor when cut on for the first time, but the odor stops after a few mins.2. No thermostat or auto setting.3. It has a 4 hour timer. This can be a good or bad thing depending on your preference.Conclusion:If you're looking for something to heat a small room, then I highly recommend this product. Takes about 10 to 20 minutes to heat up a small room. If you're looking for something to heat your entire house, then it's probably not gonna happen. Does it get the job done? Yes. All in all, this is an amazing product for the money spent. You no longer will have to clinch onto a blanket for dear life once this baby is plugged up. I highly recommend this product if you're looking for something small, affordable, and of good quality. Gotcha one now and don't think twice. You will not regret it.

This really works. I live in the Mid West and have a 12' X 16' bedroom with floor to ceiling glass on one of my walls. Needless to say my bedroom gets pretty chilly in the winter. I love this little heater because I can set the heat on my home thermostat to 68F, close my bedroom door, turn this on and get really toaster without having an insane energy bill. It takes a little getting use to at first because the air it pushes out is not super hot like regular space heaters but somehow after about 10 minutes you notice that don't really need that blanket you were clutching for dear life after all.The other plus is that it is small with a clean design. It blends into the background so well that I don't feel the need to put it away when I am not using it.

My wife and I live in an apartment with very little heat, over which we have no control. We were sleeping in multiple layers of clothes and multiple blankets during the cold winter nights, and we were still freezing. I'm convinced the constant shivering made us sick.This little thing changed everything. It's barely over one foot tall, but our bedroom became cozy within minutes. The smell that other reviewers have complained about is there, but we've stopped noticing it at this point. Personally I think the odor has gotten less strong over time.We liked it so much we bought another one right away. It's best for a small room, but we've even been using it in the biggest room in the apartment and it still makes the room feel cozy. Plus, it takes up hardly any space, and has two automatic safety settings that make us feel more than secure that we will not set our home on fire. (Its well ventilated so it barely gets hot anyway.)Highly recommended!

Am using one under the sink cabinet so the pipes don't freeze. It's been several years and have no complaints. Low quiet heat. Buying another for my dad for chilly feet around the desk.

I needed a small heater to take the cool edge off in my office. This little Vornado does the job perfectly! It's quiet, puts off just enough heat and has added safety in the tilt switch that automatically turns off the heater. Love it! It's my third Vornado and I continue to be a "fan".

I loved it.i received it on March 9, about a week ship it started to sound like a turbine winding up. I assume the blades are hitting something (in May).
Unfortunately,. I don't think something that works an out 1 1/2 months was a good buy. It wasn't even cold out. BUY something else. I am looking for a replacement now. It was 5 star while it worked

I love this heater! I purchased it a year ago and it still works perfectly. I wanted a heater that would ft under my desk in the office because it's always freezing. It's extremely quiet and even works as a fan and shuts off automatically if knocked over. I can feel the heat on my feet even if I'm wearing UGG Boots. People come to my desk, and don't want to leave because they say it feels so good. Don't know how good it works in a large area, but it's perfect for a small space. I definitely recommend.

This is the fourth Vornado we've bought and we love it. (We have two small ones like this and two larger ones.). We live in an old drafty wood sided house and use these heaters to add warmth to cold spots without having to turn the thermostat up for the whole house. This one is in the downstairs bathroom and warms the room up super fast.

ALERT. NO temperature control. Heat is always ON. Either High or Low. Runs on all the time. Use in bathroom. Keeps it warm on Low setting. Outside temperature December 04 is about zero. So heat setting is OK. Finally, nothing in the description mentioned NO temperature control. Just full-time heat. Also, fan and heat circulate entire room. Vornado quality.

works well in socal. its gets to bone chilling 50 degress here. this will work to keep you warm when you are sleeping or watching tv. not for heating an entire room. and the noise? quit your complaining, its a fan, a very quite one at that. you must be noise sensitive. this is quiet, i dont even notice it. as a bonus you can use it when its hot, as you can run the fan only, without the heat element turned on.

Very nice looking. I'd give 5 stars, but the heater does not have a thermostat. Once on, it stays on, and that'snot too good for a unit I plan to use while I sleep. Otherwise, it is a classy heater, but a bit noisey.

I wish it had a slightly higher setting, but it's sturdy and has a great smart feature that turns it off if it is not perfectly upright and level on a flat surface. Really minimizes the fire potential. Great size for a tight office space.

We've had this heater for a year and it worked great, put out good heat and even a cool setting to circulate the air in warmer weather. BUT it started making (loud) noises. Called Vornado and received a replacement in 3 days. We were asked to cut the cord off the heater and send them a pic showing the cut cord and serial number. Vornado sent out our new heater the same day. Couldn't ask for better customer service. Happy customer here. (Knocked the rating down to 4 stars because we had to deal with the replacement.)

This is a nice heater, and I have no negative things to say about it. I am only giving it 4 stars though because I feel like the power of the unit could be a bit stronger. It gets the job done, as long as it is RIGHT next to you. It is nice to have next to your feet when you start to get cold. I realize if I was looking for something powerful to heat an entire room I should've purchased a larger unit, but I was hoping this would do the job.

I use this heater in my moderately sized bedroom (roughly 12'x12') and it heats up my room in about 20-30 minutes. I have a large sliding glass door which lets in a lot of cold air during these cold winter months so this heater is pretty handy to have around since I don't have central heating, although I do suspect it uses up quite a bit of energy, so use mindfully. It seems to circate the heat fairly well without oscillating. The four hour timer is handy and there's a safety feature that shuts it off while the heater is moved/lifted. There are 3 settings - fan, high heat and low heat. The only thing I wish it had was a timer to turn on before I wake up in the mornings.

When I first received this and turned it on, I have to admit I was a bit disappointed at first. The hot air blowing on the lowest setting was minimal, and on the second setting was okay but only reached a couple feet in front. I got this because my room was cold since the heat isn't turned on all the time. My room is pretty big but I wasn't expecting to get a heater to heat up the entire place; just a small corner of it where my desk and computer is.Willing to give it another shot, I left it running next to my desk and gradually, my feet wasn't as frozen anymore. It wasn't that I felt hot air blowing on my feet, but the air around just gradually became more warm. I set the heater on a chair so that it was level with my bed, and I accidentally fell asleep without being covered by blankets. Which was a first for me because the air is usually so cold! It was the heater that finally warmed the air around me to an extent that it was habitable without being covered by blankets.So far the heater is working as desired. As to how long the quality of it will last, I shall see. I left it on running overnight with no visible worrying problems, although I wouldn't do it often just in case.If you expect this heater to blow hot air continuously in your face, this isn't quite the heater for you. If you want a heater that will warm the air gradually around you so that you can't feel the cold, then this little heater is perfect.

Tipping point safety feature is awesome! Never hot to the touch, even after being on all winter night. Warmed up the room and kept it warm, cheaper than the unnecessary home unit for sleep time. 5 STARS for the safety and great heat!!!

Summer is here now and I wish it had a few different fan speeds. So it lost a star.

Nice little heater. I bought it for a small office (8X10) above an open warehouse, so the floor tends to be cool in the morning. I keep it on the floor below my desk on low, keeps me warm, not hot. When the temp catches up, I use the fan only function to keep thing circulating. I am sure on the colder mornings coming, the high setting will do just fine.

The fan does make a vibrating noise from time to time, not a lot, but if you touch it on in the center of the fan on the front, it goes away.

I love this little heater. By "personal" space heater, they mean that it will not heat an entire room. But it takes the chill off in my bathroom every morning in the winter, and it warms my ankles when I'm sitting in the living room.
Disadvantages? Well, the first one lasted only 2 years until the fan stopped spinning & it smelled like an electrical fire about to begin. I suspect hairs wrapped around the motor, but there was absolutely no way to get inside to clean them out. Still, the price is low enough that I didn't mind too much buying a 2nd one.

Ordered this for my freezing office. Used it for several months, every day all day, until about six months in it burned up. Three-year warranty included from Vornado, so I contacted them and after determining there was no repair fix, they sent me a new replacement heater free. Very quiet...Much more quiet than the other brand heater bought by my office after the first Vornado failed. Perfect size to keep my feet toasty throughout the day...enough to warm my office, attracting cold coworkers to come in to defrost and help themselves to my mint candy dish.

Darling little heater - perfect for a counter in a bathroom. My mom has one in bright red. It's quiet and it puts out great heat for a small, enclosed area, plus it has the safety switch on the bottom in case of accidental tip over (which is hard to do because it's a quasi-pyramid shape). Unfortunately, mine arrived DOA - wouldn't even power on. I'm sure Vornado has good warranties, and typically they are great products (we've had 3 full room heaters for 10 years that are still going). I ended up returning this to Amazon almost as soon as I got it and determined it wasn't functional, because they have such an awesome system in place for returns. I won't hesitate to try and order it again though. The missing star is just because of the product arriving broken (it was shipped in it's packaging box - no additional cushion - perhaps Vornado needs to assess how well their packaging actually protects the units during shipping).

This is my third Vornado heater. That's because the quality is terrible (two just stopped working, and one was dead on arrival). But I still love the heater. I use it on my feet and get a gentle stream heat, not a blast of heat (like my other heater). So... I just end up by throwing out the bad one and getting a new one. Maybe I'm just fated with bad ones, but it is what it is.

My office is freezing and my coworker has this heater in red. When she's out, I steal it. :-) I decided it was time to get my own. I couldn't be happier. It keeps me nice and toasty. There is also a cooling component so when I'm too warm I can cool off with the fan.

Useful, but has limited range - place it near your feet.

It can get annoying when u move it around bcus the safety feature shuts it off..but all in all, I have owned several Vornado products bcus they seem to be good quality and I like this one. Bought this in January 2016. Used 1.5 winter seasons, turned it on today, fan died then the heating element burnt out.Worked great while it lasted.

It died on us last winter which was disappointing. It only lasted 2 winters; it was not constantly used during the colder months. I've paid less for a different brand space heater and it lasted longer. I've bought a few Vornado products and this one was the disappointment. When it did work though it worked really well. It just didn't last.

This review is mostly based off of the fan mode. I bought this item hoping it would be perfect to save space and money by getting something with a dual heater and fan. I've only used the heater one time that worked fine for my medium-sized bedroom. But the fan mode did not work well at all for me. It took over 4 hours with door closed to cool my room to a comfortable temp (it was about 78 degrees in my room and I get comfortable around 74ish). Sometimes I would put the fan on my desk a foot away from my face to cool myself. I plan to keep it and give it a try for the winter months, but I will be buying a separate fan.

In my case this unit is too small. Perhaps if I was using it under my desk it'd be fine - but it won't take the chill off a small cool room. Additionally my heater has a gremlin in it somewhere - I often have to "slap it" to start the heat/blower running. Maybe it's under warranty - but who keeps up with all the requirements to utilize such?

This little heater can quickly warm up a space like a bedroom. The problem was after just a few nights of use it starting making a clicking noise constantly after running for about thirty minutes. It's the same noise the base makes when the tip shut off happens. So, it's going back.

Please note that this heater has no thermostat, only a high and low power setting. I had to take it apart and push the fan all the way on the motor shaft after it ran for a while because the fan hit the housing and stopped turning. I don't know if the fan was not installed correctly or what happened. It has been in use for a season.

It worked great at first but then the blades got bent so it make a very loud clicking noise and now I don't even know if they spin. That could be my fault though since I travel with it and could hav bent something.

I'm surprised at all the great reviews; perhaps I purchased this for the wrong purpose. I don't find that this fan provides much warmth at all. I use it as a personal space heater at work because my office is freezing, but even when I have it directly next to my body on my desk I'm not very warmed. It is not nearly as powerful as I expected (and I didn't expect it to warm my office).

As others have said it really only blows warm air (which is how it stays cool to the touch). The fan seems to only have one speed even though there is a switch that looks like it controls fan speed (maybe that is for the two different heat settings?) If you have it in a small room with the doors/ windows shut it probably does an OK job at recirculating warm air. But if you actually want to feel the heat from this thing you're going to want to have it sitting a on your desk a few feet away from you and pointed right at you. The thing is that there are both lower and higher wattage personal heaters out there at a cheaper cost than this little vornado. I haven't tried any of the others but some of these seem like they would be a little more effective for less.

I suppose it depends on your intended use but do some shopping. I decided to try the vornado personal space heater because I own another one of their fans and like their vortex technology for circulating the air in the whole room but I really thought that it was a bit of a gimmick at this size.

This heater is not all that I expected it to be. It is not bad by any means, but does not pump out quite as much heat as I would have hoped. It does a decent job of keeping my toes warm, which was the idea, so no major complaints. It does have an odd smell when you first unpack it, but it does go away after some use. Works well to heat up the bathroom, but not any bigger space. Love the safety switch feature though! It has two heat settings and a fan setting, which will be handy in the summer months. I've had this heater for a few months now and have no major complaints, other than wishing for a bit more warmth!

Look, I get it, this heater isn't designed to feel warm up close like some ceramic heaters - it's meant to warm the whole room up. It's also nice that its high temp uses half the watts my Lasko (Lasko 754200 Ceramic Heater with Adjustable Thermostat) does. I got it with that in mind. Having said that, after running both of these for an hour when my room was frigid cold I have to go with the Lasko.It comes down to this...The Vornado makes my frigid room cool. Not cold, not warm, just slightly on the cooler side.The Lasko makes my frigid room toasty. Not cold, not warm, but toasty. And I do like toasty.

It looks great and has a small footprint. First one rattled like a banshee and I returned it immediately. Second one rattles just a little, on occasion but a firm whack makes it quiet again. Been said a thousand times but the vornado of today is not what it used to be.

In a big room must be near an individual to help them. But in a small bathroom it does the trick.

This heater replaced our first Vornado personal size heater - the first one lasted 3 years - this one lasted about 7 months. The fan quit. Very disappointing. Because the first one was so good, we purchased a third Vornado personal size heater - hoping this one has a good, long life for us. When they work as they should, they are great, little heaters.

This is an ok heater the space has to be closed in and really small. In my opinion it takes a very long time to heat up a small space. I use this heater at work to heat underneath my desk. I put cardboard up to close off the open spaces underneath my desk so my legs will be warm it takes a good hour and a half to get toastie under there. Keep in mind that this is a small space like a 3x3 area worth of space not much room at all.

I originally liked this heater, but it's not very strong. I have a small Pelonis heater that actually cranks out more heat than this tower. Additionally, about a year after purchase, the nob to turn the unit off/on has decided it doesn't want to work anymore. So, I can turn on the fan or the heat on low. This product being from Vornado, I expected it to last a long time, but alas... it's going into the donation pile and my small Hunter heater is taking it's job.

Decent little heater that takes the chill out of my bathroom in the morning, when it works. I've been using it for 1 year. This is my second unit. The first unit shorted out as soon as I turned it on. This unit lasted a year. After 1 year of heavy use, the fan still works. Setting the heat to 1 bar makes it smell like smoke. Setting the heat to 2 bars makes it instantly short out. It takes about 20 - 30 minutes for the unit to fully heat my extra small bathroom in the morning, 10 minutes to make it no longer chilly.

Hmm, I bought this for my sweet daughter, and although she liked the concept and believed it was a grand unit, the bloomin' thing had a plastic odor that wouldn't go away. She tried cleaning the outside, leaving everything open, running it for a day, everything she could think of with the exception of taking it apart--all to no avail. Had to send it back, for the stench was too much

I opened the package and plugged in the heater. It worked GREAT...until I turned it off, and then turned it back on again (10 minute process). No more fan, no more heater, no more anything but power lights. I read the manual to see if there was something I did wrong. I followed the trouble shooting suggestions for what happens if you get the power light but no heat. Nothing. Also, reading through the manual, they say DO NOT use this product in an RV where there is a power conversion. I bought this heater for my pop up camper trailer. If you aren't supposed to use this product in that environment, that should be made clear in the listing. Not waiting for the company to respond. I've already purchased a different brand heater.

The fan barely functioned and the heat output was paltry. My Lasko heater did a far better job of heating the small office I needed to heat. I gave it an extra star because it does have a fan-only feature-however useless it may be-that my Lasko tower heater does not.

We bought this for the water closet in our bathroom, which is only 40 square feet, but it simply does not get it warm. I'd be in the shower and still be cold, even after running it for 20 minutes first. It just doesn't put out enough heat. Ironically, when I put it into the open part of our bathroom, which is much larger, to warm it up for after my shower, it warms up the open space far better. Both parts of the bathroom have angled, tall ceilings.So if you're using this in an open space, it will probably do the job. But it's not 1500 watts, which most heaters are, so if you want to make it nice and toasty, I wouldn't even recommend this for larger rooms. But it won't do squat in a more enclosed space. We're letting my teenager use it in his bedroom because we waited too long to return it.

Just to preface this review, I've now had two of these, and I hate to write this review because they were perfect... while they worked. Unfortunately, after about a year, the first one started making this horrible clicking sound when I first turned it on. A loud clicking sound. So loud in fact, that my coworkers came into my office to ask what "that weird sound" was. The heater would make this sound for about 2 minutes, and then would get quieter and act like normal. However, after about a week of it doing this each time I turned it on, one day, it completely stopped working. It no longer would do anything at all when I turned it on. No air blowing, and just smelled like burning plastic.Since it had worked perfectly up until this point, I figured it was a fluke and ordered another one. However, it has now been about a year since I purchased this second replacement, and THE EXACT SAME THING HAPPENED. It started making the dreaded clicking sound when I would turn it on, did this for about a week, and then today it completely stopped working and smelled like burning plastic. This makes me sad, because it was a completely silent heater and put out the perfect level of heat for my office. But after having two with the exact same problem, I can no longer buy this brand. Time to look elsewhere! I'm giving it two stars because like I said, it was perfect while it worked.

I bought this because my 15-year old ceramic heater died last winter. I knew there was no thermostat, just high heat, low heat, or fan only; for the price I was willing to accept fewer features. The problem is, as a space heater, the Vornado just doesn't deliver. On the low setting, sitting under my desk, the heater doesn't even keep my feet warm on a cool fall day. On high heat, it is NOISY until I smack it. It quiets down for a few minutes and then starts up again. Maybe it will get better, but as of day 1, I'm underwhelmed. I've owned several Vornado fans, so assumed this would be similar quality; it isn't.

Puts out lot of heat if you stand right in front of it. Hot!!! Safety I like, if it barely tips, cuts off. Ordered for very small bathroom. Heater to small to heat my bathroom. I recommend if you need a heater & you like this company. You read online how many square feet this heater will heat, etc! It's probably great under an office desk to keep your feet warm.

I purchased one of these sweet little heaters a few years ago and it was wonderful. It finally died, so I ordered another one in December of 2016.. That one lasted until March of 2017, and started making so much noise that I was afraid to use it so I ordered another one. I have been using this one for less than a month and has started smelling like burned plastic, and scaring me. I think it could cause a fire. I'll be ordering a different brand name and hope that all the companies that make small heaters have not stopped making quality products. I have several Vornado fans and love them. I'm pretty sad that I can't depend on this company in the future.

I have had two of these space heaters. They work really well for a couple of months, and then both of them after about 5 months start making a really loud clicking sound almost like the fan is hitting against something and it doesn't go away. I thought maybe I just stored the first one weird but the same exact thing just happened to my second one. The sound is really loud and obnoxious and it makes the heater unusable. Too bad because I like the safety off feature and it gives a good amount of heat for under my desk at work.

This heater is perfect for my 8'x5' office. It's quiet and quick to heat and small enough to sit on my desk extension work counter and not be in my way.

I could deal with that, but today when I turned it on, the fan didn't come on and it had an immediate burning smell as well as the outer casing got warm. Since my "return" window closed 1/31/2017, I have no re-course but to throw it away. For three months of not even every day use, I would not recommend anyone buy this heater. I have not mis-used this heater. It sat in the same spot on my desk for the entire time it was operational.

Dead after 3 months. It slowly worked itself down. It first started making a clicking noise. Now the fan wont turn on.

I have had two of these space heaters. They work really well for a couple of months, and then both of them after about 5 months start making a really loud clicking sound almost like the fan is hitting against something and it doesn't go away. I thought maybe I just stored the first one weird but the same exact thing just happened to my second one. The sound is really loud and obnoxious and it makes the heater unusable. Too bad because I like the safety off feature and it gives a good amount of heat for under my desk at work.

Did not notice that their was no thermostat, my fault but setup with a timer in wife's bathroom. Now making noise from fan.

I had high hopes for this. I wanted to use it for my garage and for my work desk. The minute I plugged it in and turned it on it rattled a LOT. No matter what I did or what setting I used it rattled. It also turns off and on via a pressure switch on the bottom which was kind of annoying since you would need to move this if you got too hot or wasn't hitting you just right and that constant switching off and on might mess with your electrical outlets. If Vornado fixed these issues id try again because I like the design and settings. But right now...it just fails

Super quiet but just enough power for an office heater. The auto-shutoff is key.Update - Lasted a year and a half and completely died

I was looking forward to using this nice little space heater, but when I turned it on the chemical smell was too much for me. I expected a little "new" electronic fumes, but this was bad. I left it running (out the window) to try to air it out, but it still smelled way to strong to use it in a closed space. I got a much cheaper one $14.99!) that had no smell right out of the box! Go figure. :) Good luck. If you are not sensitive to fumes, you will like the heater.

While this product worked fine for 8 months. In the last few months the fan has started creating an obnoxious sound every time I turn it on (whether its on fan only or one of the heater settings). Now the fan won't turn on at all. The product isn't even a full year old and has been sitting in my office under my desk during that time.

I have now gone through two of these heaters. Both of the heaters had problems after a few months. The first heater's dial stopped turning so that eventually I couldn't even turn it on. The replacement heater seemed to be doing better until the fan started being very noisy. Initially I was able to tap the side of the heater and the fan would settle down but now there is nothing I can do to quiet the fan. My recommendation is if you want a heater that is only going to last a few months get a $10 one instead of a $45 one.

The unit turns on and nothing happens...no heat, no fan, etc., and did not work after following the troubleshooting instructions. There is something rattling around inside the unit which I assume explains why it doesn't work. I received it Jan 29 but did not have occasion to try it until today (March 12) because the weather was warm enough that I didn't need it (I live in So California). I now realize there is a 30 day return period so I am out of luck, apparently. But the bottom line is: Amazon shipped a product that was broken/did not work in its intended use when it arrived, and I now have a large $49 paperweight.

Well it's like this , The race was over before it began. It came in a box 2 sizes too big, wrapped in a thin sheet of bubble wrap. This thing was shaking around like a marble in a paint can. No documentation, no box, no instructions. All that said it's not that hard to figure it out. Plugged it in it lasted about 2 minutes then it sounded like a 62 Ford with a rod knock. Guess I will just use my old one its been going strong for about 8 years. Easy return through Amazon, but it should not have made it to my door in this condition.

This heater was a disappointment. I have owned this heater for 3 weeks now, and there is left to be desired. First, I will start with the pros: Compact size and aetheticly pleasing. Now here are the cons: inconsistent heating. The heater was purchased to heat my bathroom and only sometimes worked. After the 1st week, the heater began to make a clicking sound. Kinda scary. The sound occurred right when you turn on the heater. Now at week 3, the heater is no longer functioning. I hope this doesn't happen to everyone.

We have had this heater for fourth months now. It was always a slow job of heating a room, usually took too long. For a month or two now we haven't been able to turn it to the highest setting, and now it won't produce heat at all. Unbelievably poor purchase, this heater is total crap. Buy something else.

Second update: The new Vornado heater is already making a clicking noise. I'm not sure what is going on with Vornado's quality control but the VH202 has a ridiculous rate of failure. How can a heater that sits on my desk and is never moved fail so many times?Update: I contacted Vornado about the issue and they sent me a brand new VH202. Vornado's customer service really seems to take care of their customers. However, I admit I would have liked the originally purchased product to last longer. It only took a few business days for the heater to arrive. It is currently sitting on my desk and working perfectly.Thanks Vornado!------This is the third Vornado VH202 heater I have purchased. The fan blades used to spin around without touching anything inside the case. Now when I turn the heater on, the fan blades scrape the front grill and make a terrible noise. Sometimes after startup the noise goes away. I guess the blades balance out and move away from the grill. However, sometimes the fan blades continue to make noise until I shut down and power back on.I have owned a combination of six Vornado fans/heaters over the last 4 - 5 years. A year ago, a standing heater unit's cord got so hot the plug melted a bit. Now this desktop one is having issues, different issues but issues none the less. I hope Vornado ups the quality of their products as it seems like more and more products are having issues.

I have had this heater less than 8 months. I keep the heater under my desk, right next to my feet, or on top of my desk, right next to my keyboard to warm my hands. The heat output from the fan has never been tremendous, but it sufficed. I live in California, and haven't used it all that much this last winter, but it is summer now, and due to IT equipment on our floor, they keep the air conditioning pretty high, so I have used it more frequently in the last couple of months. Yesterday, the heat stopped working almost completely. The fan still works, but the 'heat' it puts out has dwindled to almost nothing. Very disappointed that it only lasted a few months with VERY limited use.

At first I was content with this item, enjoyed it's small size and cute appearance, but within four months it went completely on the fritz and is no longer functional. It was used solely as a heat supplement in the bathroom, for 10-15 minutes at a time. The first sign of disfunction was it would make a loud noise as it started up. Eventually this noise was accompanied by the smell of burning plastic. For such a small and relatively expensive item, I expect more from Vornado. I've bought their fans in the past and was considering the larger space heater for next winter. At this point I'm compelled to seek out other products.

Upon first use this fan started making a "knocking" noise that gradually gets louder. This is the second fan of this exact model that I've bought, and the other one did the same thing until it finally quick working. I bought a second one in the hopes that it wouldn't happen again, but it did. I love the fan when it's working properly!
I work in an office near many people and don't want to have this loud noise coming from my cubicle, so I have discontinued use in order to be a considerate neighbor.
I would return the product if I could.

The fan blade started hitting the cover a few weeks ago and this would continue for the first few minutes of use until the heater warmed up. A few minutes ago, shortly after turning on the heater, with the fan hitting the cover as it has been lately, an electrical fire broke out from the heater. The distinct odor and cream-like smoke were unmistakeable. The heater was plugged directly into a 15 amp 120-volt wall outlet when this happened, as it always is. Fortunately, I was using it, as I always do, while sitting next to it. No one was injured and I was able to shut off the heater and move it somewhere safe. I have always been warned not to leave these unattended, but this was a stark reminder.

This heater stopped working after less than two months. I received the heater on 2/13/17, and on 4/3/17 it stopped working. I'm very disappointed. When it was working, it did a fine job. I was using it under my desk at work to keep my toes warm in a cold office.

Worthless. This thing did nothing but blow room temperature air. Unless you are heating yourself in a phone booth, do not buy this POS.

Doesn't put out much heat. Just needed for my feet in the office and at the highest setting it seems as though it struggles to output warmth. I returned it. COST ME $11.00 TO RETURN THOUGH

I now have a second one failing after a few months. In both the fan blade loosens from the motor shaft allowing it to hit the front guard. I suppose I am going to see if Vornado will replace their replacement.
