For Everyday Cooking - This pan is FIVE STARS!
January 28, 2017
I've had several pans in the past that just were not big enough to make a one pot meal - thankfully I found this and now I use this for EVERYTHING! It's HUGE!!! I like it better than my Calphalon pan set! Clean up is super easy - I read that it is d/w safe, but I still hand wash it because I'm afraid of weakening the teflon... Mine has not warped in the center like others have said - but my Mother taught me when I was just starting out - to NEVER put a teflon pan under a full flame unless the pan has been gradually pre-heated to a high temp and to NEVER put a teflon pan on high when it's empty... IE: To sear something. Searing/Browning is best done in a stainless steel or cast iron pan anyway. At least I've had the best results from that... For everyday cooking - this pan is five stars! :)
Who rates a pan 5 stars?!
November 17, 2016
Yes... who??Dude, this is absolutely perfect in every way. The SIZE -- I can make larger meals now, which is good for my tall and growing teenaged son's and hardy boyfriend's appetite. We actually have enough leftovers for the next (at least) one to two days!I LOVE that it has the lid, and I love equally that it's vented. AND that it has the handle on the side.I was hesitant to pay $24 for just one pan, instead of getting an entirely new set with something like this in it... but I went ahead, and I'm so glad I did. This is now my favorite pan.
Great Pans
March 9, 2016
I LOVE these pans! I had T-fal years ago, but so many pretty pans came out that I ended up replacing all of my T-fal. Well, there is really a difference! I love cooking, and have been cooking for many many years.I have always found it easy to whip up something to die for. My good cooking was beginning to wane, and for a while I wasn't sure what was happening. Little things, like hard boiled eggs that weren't pealing! Didn't seem to make any sense! I needed a new pan, but didn't want to spend a lot of money, and found T-fal again on Amazon. Not as pretty as the others, but I knew the brand, and they were a good brand at good prices. An immediate change took place. My cooking was easy, and great again! So once again, I am slowly changing all of my cookware back to T-fal. Never again will I purchase another brand! Oh by the way, on this particular pan, this is a great size! Perfect for frying in large amounts.
The pan is so great that I have Pan Envy!!!
January 30, 2016
I bought this fry pan for my son. After a divorce, he didn't have cookware and he got the odd piece here and there. It was driving me crazy watching him use a smallish saute pan for everything so I got this for him. He was thrilled!!! No exaggeration here at all. He loves that it's non-stick and has a see through "glass" cover and the practical small handle opposite the large handle. The ease in cleaning it up is so great that it's cleaned right away after a meal. I have a similar one and it's great for frying, sauteing, and many other things due to the great fitting lid. The cleanup is so easy - and you must not use metal utensils on it or steel wool. It would be a disaster. The pan doesn't need anything more than some dish liquid and a sponge. It can go in the dishwasher but it's much easier to just wipe it out, gently wash it and put it away. This is a great product and I got it at 50% off here on Amazon. Now I have product envy as mine isn't non-stick!!
I love this pan so much I bought a second one
December 2, 2015
I am a beginner when it comes to cooking but I cook often and hard. I am not gentle with this poor old pan; I dog it - I've dropped it, I tap my cooking utensils on the pan edges to get excess food off the utensils even though the pan directions say not to do that, and I put it in the dishwasher a few times a week. After a full year of enduring my treatment of it and its poor lid, it is still in great shape. It has little tons of scratches on the outsides but the nonstick surface is completely unscathed. I use this pan so much I bought a second one so I can abuse both at the same time. I would definitely suggest getting this pot if you need a workhorse in the kitchen. And if you treat it better than I treat mine - which you really should - I feel like the nonstick coating will last practically forever. Note: I only use wooden or plastic utensils so as not to damage the coating
Excellent Pan, Nice Size, Non-Stick, Well Made
October 7, 2015
I bought this for myself to replace another one of similar size that had become not non-stick anymore. My kids wash dishes and they just don't know how to wash dishes correctly so they ruined the pan for me by scraping the coating off.I've been using it for about a month now, at least four times a week as it's the perfect size for most anything. I've made chicken, beef, and even pancakes in it and it's just great. The size is good for anything I've needed it for. It's lightweight but yet it feels well made and durable. The handles are nice, the main handle is sturdy and well made and can hold the weight easily of a full pan.The second, smaller handle is great, love the fact that it's hollow or a loop style handle. My last pan had a solid handle on it and it was kind of small really and wasn't that useful, the handle here works great, and it's very sturdy. All in all I love this pan. I'm an ex-chef as it were and I can appreciate a good pan at a great price. I do all the cooking in my house so I get hwat I want and I'm very happy I purchased this pan.

Perfect for RV or camping!
September 22, 2017
You can't beat the quality of these for the price! Purchased these specifically for RV/camping, and they are perfect size for the camp stove, and the RV stove. The coined bottoms do not allow these to slide around on the stove, which is a plus if you are not able to get into a really level spot or table. The nonstick surface is a breeze to clean up, and the handles are easy to grip. These are very well made pans.
Maybe not perfectly "No Stick" but certainly "nonstick"
September 15, 2017
You know those pans one sees on TV to which nothing adheres? Not quite these; but what does adhere wipes out easily with a damp cloth. no scrubbing needed. The pans come with an indicator that shows when they are properly heated. A very nice feature, indeed. They are well constructed, stable, and an incredible bargain. While I have not had them long enough to evaluate durability, the price basically makes them disposable. Highly recommended.
Wonderful Choice
July 27, 2017
These frying pans are terrific. I suffer with arm and hand weakness so these lightweight frying pans are perfect for me. They cook quickly and wash easily. The price can't be beat and I like them better than my heavy copper bottom and other more expensive pans. I would certainly recommend these pans.
Happy with these
July 19, 2017
I usually wash these right after use and am careful not to use anything that would scratch them. As such, I've been cooking with these almost every day, for about six months, and they still look pretty new. I kinda wish the big pan was bigger, but it's not a big deal. I actually use the small pan most.
Highly recommended.
April 23, 2017
I love this pan. I have 3 sizes. No oil, cook omelette, slide out and wipe out with paper towel. What a time saver AND food is healthy without the oil.
Great set of pans
March 9, 2016
Nice set of pans. Work really well. Already have a burn mark on one from my coil stovetop but I'm attesting it to my junky rental apartment stove. These clean really well, are definitely non-stick, the food slides right off. There is an even distribution of heat which is really helpful because my stove is really a piece of junk and has hot spots and dead spots on the coils. Wish they came with matching lids but they work fine on their own.

Great pan
April 5, 2017
This is a great frying pan. Yes, it is slightly raised in the middle to allow the oil and grease to flow to the edge, but I'm not sure that's a bad thing as some have suggested. Very solid. Comfortable handle. Not too heavy. Attractive and easy to clean. Food doesn't stick but a little. The red glowing button doesn't seem to work with gas ranges, however. This is a much better pan than the green pan I purchased a few months earlier. Fantastic buy for the money. I highly recommend!
Tried and true.
March 12, 2017
After a year, this is still my go-to pan. I love my stainless set and they have their advantages at times, but a good non-stick is still necessary. Time generally has its way with cheaper non-stick pans (even cheap T-fal ones) after the first few months of use, and in about a year or two, it's in the trash. My T-fal "pro" still looks and works like the day I got it. No degradation of the surface at all.You could probably do better. I just doubt it's possible for less than $25.
After several months still looks & works great
February 9, 2017
Have it for several months now and it still looks and feels like new. Every so often I season (as it is recommended by the literature included) and the eggs slide over. I use it several times a week and although the bottom has discolored, the top and nonstick is in perfect shape. My wife placed it once in the washing machine and I noticed that the aluminum top had a haze. I just polished with a cloth and some dish soap. I prefer to hand wash it but that is a personal preference. I do get annoyed with the very high middle and when food slides to the side, but the temperature is the same and it comes out perfect every time. Great product
Genuinely non stick and super well made.
October 7, 2016
This pan really works great. We have had other pans that are so so, but this one really delivers. Nothing has ever stuck to it not matter how burned it was. We use this pan every day at least once if not two to three times. It is so versatile and since it is 12 inches it can hold enough food for the four of us. Clean up is super fast and the pan also heats up fast so it makes getting the cooking job done a lot faster too. We researched tons of pans before picking this one and we have been the happiest we ever have been with this type of pan. I would recommend it to anyone who wants to make the cook time faster and non stick for real.
A Kitchen Must
January 4, 2015
Excellent skillet. I highly recommend this item. We purchased it after seeing it reviewed by Cook's Illustrated and once again, they came through. The pan is heavy weight enough to heat very evenly (I've used it on both gas and electric cooktops with excellent results) but not so heavy its a burden. The teflon coating seems very scratch resistant. The handle is very solid with no wiggle. I've taken the skillet from the stove top to the oven with no problem- the silicone handle can take the heat. I also routinely run this through the dishwasher with no problems. I've given this as a gift to two friends and they both rave about it. I was so pleased with this I also purchased the 10" model. I use this affordable skillet far more often than my pricey All-Clad skillet.
The Best of its Kind
March 15, 2014
I first saw this T-Fal fry/sauté pan reviewed on America’s Test Kitchen where it was selected as the best of its kind. I purchased the 12.5” model and I am very impressed with its quality, versatility and performance. It heats uniformly throughout the entire cooking surface, which is important when preparing food like an egg omelet. I’m not sure about the red dot so I simply use common sense when using the pan. The good news is, like with all cooking utensils, the more you use it, the better you learn its attributes. This T-Fal has a consistent quality and there are no surprises. That’s good enough for me.

Good value on a family meal sized pan. Nice weight and the size is accurate - the right size for everyday meals!
March 16, 2016
So far, so good! Item looks great, I like that there is some information in the box for seasoning this pan, as I've never known to 'season' a non-stick pan before! I would appreciate an actual shipper inside amazon packages, though - one that gives me info like model numbers. I had to trial and error the various numbers I found on the sales info in order to register the item for warranty through the website. The number given on the sales info as the model number is not the right number. the model number to register is the A91082 in the title. And I still don't know if I picked the right 'version' since there were several to choose from once I got to that point. There is a small defect or scratch in the exterior finish on the bottom of the pan, but since I won't affect the use of the item, I didn't mark down for that (though it rankles that it was there at all and definitely didn't happen in shipping). However, I asked before buying if the bottom of the pan is flat and was told by several that it is - it is NOT. Of course, the inside is flat - but the exterior (which I specified in the question) bottom has the ridges grooved into the metal that are supposed to help even heating. To me, they make it harder to clean, which is why I didn't want them. For the price, I think the pan is good. If it warps or gives problems (which I believe the ridges also contribute to) I will update this once I've had a chance to really use it. I'll let you know if it isn't as good as the wearever it replaced!
Great
January 30, 2016
I purchased a brand new 10-piece set of stainless steel cookware, but still needed a larger skillet/saute pan and preferred to get a non-stick one. I came across this T-Fal product and after doing my usual Amazon search to make sure I didn't see anything else I wanted, I decided to get this one. I have had T-Fal products in the past, and I'll tell you, this one certainly does not disappoint. Although I read the specs of it's size, it was actually larger than I had visually expected. I was so happy about that. I even got excited that I was able to cook my family their favorite turkey bacon all at the same time, instead of doing two batches in the largest skillet from my stainless steel cookware set.If you are looking for a large non-stick skillet/saute pan that you can take from the top of the stove and directly into the oven, stir-fry in, cook one-pot meals in, or just larger portions of whatever you're making, even small portions you don't want to over-crowd, then this is definitely the item for you! Absolutely adore it!!!
Good value & usage. My second one.
October 21, 2015
This is my second one. I bought the first one about 2 years ago and it lasted about a year of every-other-day usage before the non-stick coating didn't work any longer. I treated it very well, followed the instructions, used only plastic cooking utensils, and never ran it on high heat, but the coating failed after about a year. It's the way it is with any pots/pans I've bought from T-Fal, Farberware, or others. I bought it again because for the price, it's still a good value and I love the size & depth of the pan that make it very useful and my 'go-to' pan for many things. It's made in China and I don't expect these things to last years, so I give it a 4-star for the value & utility. It arrived very well packaged for protection.I really wish these and many more items were made in American, though. I don't like that we've offshored so many of our jobs and manufacturing base, all in the name of cutting corners and making things so cheap that we now expect almost everything to be low-quality & disposable. Things like pans used to last many years...now we measure lifespans by months due to low quality and cheapness.
Cooks Great, Slight Warp To Pan
August 18, 2014
I've had this pan for about six months now. My wife loves it, my kids love it, and I like it.The Teflon surface is great. It hasn't scratched yet, and my kids do use metal utensils with this pan. It hasn't been in the dishwasher, so I don't know if it would still be OK after that.It went into a 375 degree oven for 20 minutes with no problems. The surface is VERY non-stick. One of my daughters was on the phone and forgot about the bacon she was cooking. The bacon was black charcoal, cooked at least 20 minutes past burnt, and the bacon and any grease rinsed right out of the pan without any work. I've never had anything stick to this pan.The only reason I give it four stars is because of warping. This past weekend, I was on my own, so I cooked my potatoes, bacon and eggs all it the same pan. It worked quite well, but I noticed that there is a slight warp to the pan. The eggs all ran the same way towards one side of the pan. It seems to me there shouldn't be any warp to the pan after six months, especially when it doesn't even go through the dishwasher. If it wasn't for that, it would be five stars, as the actual surface of the pan and the cooking are perfect.
Good Pan at a Good Price
June 11, 2014
I usually do most of my cooking on cast iron or stainless steel. Quite frankly I'm too hard on non stick so I typically don't bother spending the money on it. My wife recently started a diet and we needed something that we can us less oil with. Generally I like larger cook ware so this one caught my eye. It is BIG. It has high sides and a lot of cooking area. The non stick surface seems to be your typical black teflon type coating. Nothing special, but works well if you take care of it.I gave it 4 stars for two reasons. First, it arrived with two bends in the lip of the lid. The metal lip is pretty thin and so the handling before it got to my house cause it to bend a little. Nothing that a few smacks with something hard and flat didn't take care of. Second, it is a pretty thin pan. Kind of what I would expect for a pan in this price range. Thin is not a problem for me, but it does make the bottom of the pan crown and food tends to want to flow toward the edges. Makes cooking eggs especially interesting. Not a big deal, but it is always nice to have a flat bottom on a pan.All things considered it is a good pan for the price and I recommend it.
Great BIG Pan For a Great Little Price Makes For A Great Value To Me
March 5, 2014
A lot of my recipes use 2 pounds of ground hamburger or stew meat, and I like to cook in with it some diced onions, peppers, celery, garlic, and so on, depending on what I'm cooking. My old skillets just barely fit all those ingredients, and didn't leave room to stir and flip stuff around for even browning and flavoring, so I decided to get a larger pan, and this is the one I chose. When I received it, there was a small plastic chip broken off where the metal and the handle meet, on the underside. The handle still felt sturdy though, so I just super-glued it back on and then when I was sure it was dried and set, I washed the pan and used it. That's why I dropped it a star on the rating.Other than that though, it worked fabulously for me to deal with the situation I wanted it for, with plenty of room to spare. It's nice and big around, plus deep. Great for all my skillet needs, from the ground round and stew meats, to pork chops, steaks, fried chicken, and more.I now use it at least a few times every week, sometimes more, and it's working out for me just as I'd hoped. I'm not seeing any warping or chipping or flaking or anything like that. It's heavy enough that it lays flat on the burner even with nothing in it, which I like. It indicates to me that it evenly heats the food, and that does seem to be the case from my experience with it.I'm no Julia Childs, so my taste in cookware is at a very basic level - if it works like I want, I'm happy. This does that. I'm sure there are good solid reasons to buy cookware that's MUCH more expensive than this, but it's not what I personally need or want.

Excellent for the price point.
May 16, 2017
Excellent for the price point. The smallest pan, which I use for omlettes is smaller than I would prefer. These pans are not thick, but I've learned that non stick surfaces don't survive more than a few months, so I'm happy paying less for a product that will serve me well for a few months, and ready to be replaced when the time comes.
cheap and good durable non stick surface
May 7, 2017
Been using these for close to a year. Very light weight which is to be expected for the price. One of mine warped a little but it's still usable. Durable surface. Probably would buy a heavier set next time but I'm happy with the purchase. Very easy to clean since the surface is so non stick.
Great, But Smaller Than Expected.
May 5, 2017
I always loved T-fal frying pans. One Valentine's Day, my husband got me one as a gift (now you might have an inkling of why we're divorced). I did notice than all three are a little smaller than a normal 3 Frying Pan Set. But they are very nice and there's nothing better than a non- stick frying pan. Enjoy.
Frying pans
March 25, 2017
These small pans are perfect to use for cooking small amounts encluding eggs, omlets and other items for a single serving. As always, care must be taken to clean pans carefully and not use any sharp instruments to damage the surface.
Great non stick pots
December 21, 2016
These are pretty good pots. Had them 6 months and I use the medium one daily. It is the only one beginning to show wear on the inside around the edges. I put oil on it every day with my eggs or they'll stick. At first I didn't need to but over time it has become necessary. Even so it's still a great pan and easy to clean. The others I don't use daily and are like new and nothing sticks, including eggs. I have no issues with the handles or any part getting too hot. They work as a pan should, simple as that. For the price it's worth it because if I only have to replace one pan a year then I think that's a good deal! Definitely recommend. I will be staying with this brand.
Cheap in both senses of the word, but they work well
July 18, 2016
Very cheap construction, handles feel a tiny bit loose even when new, but they are lightweight and very non-stick. The advice that I've generally read on buying nonstick pans is a) go with teflon-style coating, since ceramic is expensive, very delicate and easy to damage b) get something extremely cheap, because teflon wears out at a similar rate whether it's a $20 set or a $500 set. There's no point in getting expensive teflon pans. However, if you like regular stainless pans, the good (and expensive) ones will last a lifetime and can be reconditioned when they wear down.Anyway, back to the t-fal pans. These cook amazingly. I think that they are aluminum (based on their weight) and so they heat up very quickly. With their plastic handles, they are extremely lightweight. The nonstick coating works well, and I've been using them regularly for a couple months now. I don't have to use any kind of oil to cook eggs if I don't want to, although oil will still make them ever so slightly less sticky. It makes little difference. I've also been washing them in the dishwasher and haven't noticed any issues yet. The teflon still looks new a couple months in, the handles are still connected fine, they still look almost new.If they wear out in a year, it'll still be a good value compared to their expensive teflon competitors.

All around good non stick pan - gets the job done
May 5, 2017
This is the second T-FAL nonstick pan that we own, the old one finally stopping being non stick after 3+ year of heavy use. Pan is still great. Nothing really sticks, it's durable and does the job. Yes it does have a slight bump in the middle which causes oil to pool around the edges, but it really doesn't effect cooking at all. Based on another recommendation I had bought one of those copper pans you see on TV - DON'T Do it. They don't work. I followed the directions (low heat, no oil) and still had eggs sticking to the bottom. My only gripe with this pan is I wish it would have a slightly higher heat tolerance in the oven, but otherwise this is my go-to day in and day out.
Good pan for the price, but beware it might warp
March 9, 2017
Very good pan, slick and slippery as it should be. I have noticed a slight warping. The bottom is no longer perfectly flat, food tends to head for the edges now after only a few months. Replacement for an ancient pan whose Teflon was peeling away. Large enough for a family sized stir fry. If not for warping, would rate it a five. This is a good and heavyweight pan. Great for the price.
I'm just happy to have a pan that doesn't Warp
December 8, 2016
Update.... pan still working great .......As far as the pan itself it works good. I like how big it is and how far up the sides come. It hasn't warped since I've been using it so everything still lays flat. I cooked some fried chicken in it the other day so I had it on for a while and the only thing that bothered me was to handle got harder than I would have thought it would just sitting on the stove top but other than that it held the heat evenly it never worked the pan that you can cook great as I said the only issue I have with it is Hell hot to handle got and it's supposed to be rated for the oven up to 350 degrees which I'm going to try but it got really hot just on the stovetop cooking fried chicken for 30 minutes. Other than that as I said it's cooked evenly it's large enough to cook fried chicken in and the pan never warped or bent.
Coating can be scratched off.
December 8, 2016
All non-stick pans are great when they are new, so we'll have to see. Don't really use the heat indicator ring on the surface. The manual says you can use metal tools on the cooking surface but I would not recommend it. While in my sink, something must've rubbed against my new pan near the handle rivets inside the pan and easily removed the coating there. Not a big deal, but shows this non-stick coating might now be as bulletproof as indicated. Also, whatever scratched it off could not have applied much pressure as I don't load up my sink much less haphazardly on top of my new pan. Ordered a carbon steel one in case as I don't feel the surface will last much long than my many other pans.
Professional Chef Review: 1 Year of Constant Use
March 1, 2016
This is an honest review from a professional chef who has used this product in their home kitchen almost every day for an entire year. I was not paid to write this review nor did I receive any compensation for my efforts.Initial Observations:I bought this pan for home use on January 2, 2015. I never use small frying pans, so the 12.5'' was an easy choice. I was initially intrigued that the bottom of the pan was convex and doubted whether the pan would distribute oil/butter evenly for browning/frying. The sides of the pan appeared to be slanted high enough to sautee without the use of a turner/spatula (i.e. using the wrist to move food in the pan). The handle felt comfortable in my hand and the riveting appeared to be sturdy. The overall weight and balance of the pan did not feel awkward.Use and Abuse:Despite my hesitation about the convex bottom, the pan browns more evenly than any pan I've ever used. The pan's ability to cook eggs is superior to any pan I've ever used. When multitasking, I can sautee without using utensils. The pan withstands high heat, does not warp and is easy to clean. I do not allow the pan to cool fully before washing it directly under water. I do not use ANY metal utensils in this pan. Minor scratches have accrued. After 1 year, the surface is slightly less non-stick. Use with metal utensils is NOT recommended under any circumstances. It has yet to be determined whether the coating is being removed during cooking or during non-abrasive washings. I sincerely hope it's the latter. The rivets are not flush with the pan. Food debris collects around the rivets if not cleaned properly. The handle construction has shown no sign of wear. The rivets are fastened securely to the pan. The pan's ability to heat and cool quickly is excellent.T-Fal Claims that:1. The unique T-fal Thermo-Spot heat indicator shows when the pan is perfectly preheated for cooking. [TRUE]2. The two most important claims that T-Fal promotes (i.e. that the surface is durable/scratch resistant and is safe to use with metal utensils) are false. Although I enjoy using this pan at the house, I do not consider this product "professional" quality. An alternative coating would eliminate this issue altogether and would not significantly increase production costs: https://www.google.com/patents./US20100276432.In short, I highly recommend this product for home use only. My 4 star review is extremely generous considering the fact that advanced material science and nano-technology is not being used to create a superior consumer product.
Good, but not Great
August 14, 2015
I bought this 12-inch pan after having seen a review on 'America's test kitchen' where they basically tested different sets of saute/omelette pans ranging from cheap to very expensive brands and they picked this one based on its performance. So far, it's performing as well as expected and It's so easy to clean. The red circle in the center of the pan tells you it's heated and ready for cooking. Overall satisfied. However, what I did not expect was how easily the pan would lose its shape. I always wait until my pans have cooled to room temperature before washing them to avoid warping them. I was surprised that after just 3 months of use, this pan is no longer flat and circular. I expected the pan to be more durable than it has proven to be. The pan is still usable, but I have purchased Sugiyama Metal Wide Frypan for almost the same price. This wide pan has enough space to cook and lighter than T-fal one. T-fal is one of Japanese reliable brand, but some of their pan might be defective(?) as other reviewers mentioned.

Nice looking pan, but not a flat, level bottom.
July 10, 2017
I bought this to replace a pan that didn't sit flat on my glass-top range. This is a nice looking pan, but it doesn't have a flat surface, either. When I oil the pan, all the oil flows to the outer edge away from the center where most of the food is (and you most need the oil). The size, and weight is nice, and it is great that it comes with a lid. I expect the non-stick surface to last about as long as my other T-Fal fry pans, which when used daily only last about 8 months before the finish starts peeling off. (note: I NEVER cook over medium heat, usually lower than that, and never heat it empty. And I always gently hand wash them). Also, I tried to register the pan for the warranty on their website, but the site won't keep the model number/name that I type in, and it won't register without that required information. Very frustrating!
I hope it doesn't bow up in the middle like the last thin-bottomed t-fal pan I bought but it ...
December 21, 2016
Its very non-stick but within the first 30 days it has warped to the point that the lid doesn't want to fit unless your shove it down with some force. I hope it doesn't bow up in the middle like the last thin-bottomed t-fal pan I bought but it probably will. These would be excellent pans if they gave the bottom a copper clad or extra thickness to lend support to the rest of the pan but I guess that would impact the bottom line on these relatively inexpensive pans. It would also be nice if they included some kind of stopper for the steam vent if you wanted to make rice or something that you don't want the water vapor to escape so much.I'm using an electric range and have never set the hob above 5(medium heat) because you don't want to vaporize the Teflon coating. I've never put cold liquid into it while its hot, at best I put room temperature wine in it once to deglaze. I can't tell by eye where this one is warping, all I can say for sure is that the glass and metal lid that came with the pan doesn't fit right anymore.
Just OK
December 3, 2016
I bought this to replace a similar T-Fal pan I've had for many years. It is nice to have a new nonstick surface, as my old one became quite worn. But the construction of this pan is nowhere near as durable as the old one. It's lighter and seems flimsy -- not likely to survive much abuse. I noted the many negative comments here before purchasing, but because of my past satisfied experience with the company I thought I would take a chance. It seems OK, but just OK, and I don't expect it to last very long. If you need a solid, durable, pan, I'd look elsewhere. If you need something for light or occasional use, this should be fine.
I love the way this pan cooks
June 22, 2016
I love the way this pan cooks, but it just doesn't last very long. I use this pan almost everyday, so I usually have to replace it after about 8 months. I have tried some other pans, but they don't cook as well - so it's a conundrum. I just love Amazon! Before Amazon, everything I needed would have generated a trip to a different store. Now, if I need something – just about anything, I go and look at Amazon first. It’s amazing that I can buy everything from cereal, dog food, nail products, clothing, household items and electronics. For instance, buying this pan is just another example of the wonder that is Amazon. I have been very impressed with the huuuge selection on Amazon. I don’t think there is anything that you can’t buy on Amazon, short of perishable foods. Most of the time you can the items cheaper than you can in the local store, but not always. Then we have the additional spectacular invention that is Amazon prime. This praise and rant doesn’t mean that I think Amazon is perfect, and I have had a few problems here and there, but over all – Amazon is my go to place for everything I need to buy, except groceries. Thank you Amazon for being around, once again….I just absolutely love purchasing from Amazon.
Thin metal, bends in shipping, but good lid
November 18, 2015
Bought one, which arrived bent so that the lid didn't fit, they replaced it for free. The second one also has a little dent in it but nowhere near as bad. Everything works great now, but they really should come up with a better way of protecting this in the shipping process - or make the pan's metal a little thicker. I especially like that the lid almost perfectly fits my Lodge Cast-Iron Skillet L10SK3ASHH41B, 12-Inch so for the price of just a lid, i got a new pan too.
This has been one of my favorite pans for a couple years now
May 10, 2015
This has been one of my favorite pans for a couple years now. That changed today when the lid suddenly imploded while I was simmering some baked beans on the stove. I had the lid tilted on the pan to let out steam and the pan was on a medium hot stove when the lid just suddenly shattered into a hundred pieces. I have never seen anything like this happen! I am a little worried now because I recently purchased all T-fal cookware. I am hoping it was a freak accident. I still gave this pan three stars because it was my favorite and the pan still works without the lid.Update: Because I loved this pan so much I bought another so I would have a lid. I still love the pan and the new lid hasn't imploded yet. Fingers crossed!

Scratches and chips already
July 12, 2017
Well, really I've only had them a short while and I can already see chips! Can't use it once the nonstick surface starts to scratch off. dangerous! I don't use metal utensils in these either. I might have bonked it with something while in the sink.
They're okay
May 22, 2017
larger of the pans arrived warped but still sits flat enough. Did not have time to return them because they were needed to cook with and in the process of moving into a new residence. They are decent enough though wish I could find lids to fit.
Mixed review
March 18, 2017
I used one of the pans maybe 6 times so far to fry an egg for a minute or 2. I noticed a chemical smell each time I used it. I recently saw that the clear shiny finish on the underside of the pan is almost completely gone. I assume I was smelling the finish burning off. The inside of the pan stills looks brand new - no scratches and the food doesn't stick.
Meh.
March 9, 2017
The price reflects their quality. Some of their nonstick coatings are not quite even, but they can be used until a better set is purchased.
... one of the handles was loose and requires some funny tool that I don't have
November 10, 2014
I have owned this pan set before and know that it is a good set and last for several years. But just got this set in and one of the handles was loose and requires some funny tool that I don't have. Waiting on a replacement set in hopes of not having the same problem. Saw this same issue in some of the reviews before buying, but hoped they had resolved it. Obviously not......to be continued.......
Lighter and warps easily than I usually like
October 2, 2014
These pans are ok, and work well. They will not take a high heat and are not hard anodized, so you have to take care. I use these daily and have been for 6 months, I'm surprised that they have held up for this long.Lighter and warps easily than I usually like, when these go by the wayside will purchase a hard anodized set with more weight. For the money these are a good buy.

Okay, but not All Clad
May 18, 2017
The pan works great as a non-stick pan, but it is bowed, so the oil sits around the edge, so it doesn't work for a lot of frying. I use this pan on an induction stove and it gets nowhere as hot as my All Clads on the same stove. I use high on the range with this pan. If I did that with my All Clad, I would burn the pan in about 5 minutes. It is a useful pan for the money, but not a replacement to good cookware.
Disappointing; works poorly on induction
May 12, 2017
Not as good as other T-fal pans. This does work on induction, but not very well. On a 9-point temperature control, medium-high (the highest ever recommended for nonstick pans) is 6, but this pan requires 7.5, and even at that setting it takes much longer to heat than any other pan I have. Other reviews have noted that the center is slightly raised, and mine also has this problem, with any liquid pooling around the periphery, leaving the center dry/unoiled. The nonstick surface performs well, and for this price I won't bother to return it, but I am disappointed and will not buy it again. T-fal's regular nonstick skillet, which I've used on a conventional electric stove, and their regular stainless steel skillet, which works on induction, are some of the best buys on the market.
Non-stick, great. Raised center, not so much.
January 21, 2015
The only reason why I gave this pan a 3 instead of a 5 is that like noted in other reviews, the center is slightly raised so the pan isn't flat. Maybe this is on purpose to let grease slide to edges, but when you're cooking with oil or butter, you want it to cover the whole bottom of the pan and not go to the sides. The non-stick works great and is easy to clean.
Great to use, limited lifespan
April 29, 2014
After having the pan for about 18 months, here's what I can say:For a long time, it was a sheer joy to use - the non-stick worked amazingly, heated evenly. The center dot would change colors when it was heated up.And then, about a year in, the non-stick wore off. Now, it's a hassle to clean. The center dot doesn't seem to work any more. I don't know how this lifespan compares to other non-stick pans, but, needless to say, I'm a little disappointed. As far as I know, we were treating it well within its usage limits. It's also worth noting that the center is slightly raised, which has made it a little harder to make eggs - they always run to the sides of the pan, which are much cooler. I hear it's better for meats, though, because it causes the grease to run off to the sides.
My 8" & 10" great but 12.5 is not flat
February 13, 2014
First, my review is an average of the 3 pan sizes (details follow); I was limited to one review as they are sold on the same page. My 8" & 10.25" (about a year old) are 5 star pans: slick, durable, and easy to clean. They seem to be relatively flat, as omelets cook evenly and cover the whole pan. So I recently bought the 12.5" (1 star rating) and returned it after one use because my pancake batter ran away from the center before it could start to cook (though the pan was pre-heated), and the pancakes were thicker near the pan edge where the batter pooled the most. Several reviewers say T-fal raises the center on purpose to prevent warping; if so, it's not noticeable on my smaller pans but was significant on the 12.5".
Decent pan, but bottom not flat
December 12, 2013
I want to give this 4-5 stars. It's a reasonable non-stick pan, with respectable weight. But the very first time I cooked on it I noticed that the bottom isn't flat. It's slightly rounded, with the highest point in the middle. When I dropped my first fried egg into the pan and watched it skid away to the outside edge (on a stove that I've been cooking on for ages) I knew this would be a pain in the butt.Truth be told, I imagined using this pan for all sorts of things, and among them were fried eggs and crepes. But there's no way I can make crepes in this, and I have to break my eggs into it around the edge. It's good for cooking other stuff though so it has earned occasional usage and 3 stars. It's also possible that my pan was a fluke, although it didn't look damaged in any way. But in case this is just how the pans are made, I figured I'd give a fair warning.

Spend more money, if you want one that doesn't warp
September 11, 2016
The size and handle(s) of this pan are great, but the bottom is apparently not thick enough to combat the tendency to warp. Oil/sauce flows to the outside perimeter, as several other reviewers noted...i.e. it "domes" up in the middle. We've only had our since March of this year (2016), and we don't use it excessively, nor let it overheat, nor dunk it under a stream of cold water after it's been heated up. Zero abuse, but it just doesn't pass muster. Another reviewer said:"The large center "spot" on the bottom warped outward, which causes any liquids in the pan to pool to the center. I even followed all the directions (not to put it under cold water when hot).So while there are the positive aspects of owning this pan, the fact that is now warped and food cooks unevenly is enough to make me recommend against purchasing it."Yeah, what she said.Try the new version, maybe, or spend more money and get a better product from another brand.
Save your money and buy a better pan if you have a coiled electric burner style ...
April 30, 2016
Save your money and buy a better pan if you have a coiled electric burner style stove. The thin-gauge aluminum of this pan resulted in the bottom warping within the first week of ownership. It doesn't heat properly or cook properly ever since. You may be in the clear if using glass cooktop or open flame.
T-fal frying pan
April 26, 2016
I purchased this pan a few weeks ago. I am disappointed in this pan because when I put oil in it, the oil spreads to the sides and does not stay in the middle. It is like it is warped. The pan seems to cook okay if cooking something that covers the bottom and not using oil to fry. It takes too much oil to keep the bottom covered completely due to the way it seems to rise in the middle.
You get what you pay for
January 4, 2016
As you can see from my date of purchase, I have owned this for a month. I was happy when it arrived only to be completely frustrated after a few uses and the bottom has warped . There is now a raised area in the center . I have a glass top stove and this has happened to other cheap pans. I just didn't expect it to happen so fast.
- Good size & fairly deep - Comfortable curved handle - ...
July 26, 2015
OK but not a quality pan in my opinion. While a low price for this size pan with a glass lid the serious flaw in this pan to me is that the 'center' seems to be raised - you can't see it, it looks flat - but when you heat cooking oil in it the oil all runs off to the outer edges of the pan & 'pools' there leaving the center of the pan for your food totally bare.Pros:- Good size & fairly deep- Comfortable curved handle- 'Helper' handle on the other side- Glass lid to see your food cooking- Small round 'Vent' in lid to let steam escape- Decent non-stick Teflon coating- Good even heating across the entire pan surfaceCons:- Light weight & not a "quality pan feel" to me- Slightly raised center of pan (see above description) Deal killer for me.I wouldn't recommend this pan if your shopping for a "quality" pan - BUT - if price is an issue & your ok with the slightly 'raised' center of the pan issue i'd give it 4 Stars.
It would be wonderful if not for the warping
November 25, 2014
There are several things I like about this pan:* It's large & deep* Side handle is convenient* Lid is nice & easy to cleanHowever, that being said, the bottom of the pan warped after just a few uses. The large center "spot" on the bottom warped outward, which causes any liquids in the pan to pool to the center. I even followed all the directions (not to put it under cold water when hot).So while there are the positive aspects of owning this pan, the fact that is now warped and food cooks unevenly is enough to make me recommend against purchasing it.

Don't do it. Seems like a good deal... 3 pans for $20. No less than 3 months later, all three pans are warped beyond use. Always remember, you get what you pay for. Pans have been replaced with $40 pans (each) that are holding up waaaaayy better. Just spend the extra $$$$ up front.

January 13, 2016
One of the pans I bought came defective (it had an irregular curve sticking out on one side) so I got that set replaced.Overall, they're so-so quality. The handles come loose frequently on both pans. After just 3 weeks of light use bottoms of both pans' became warped and now they won't sit flat on the stove.
Buy something else
December 24, 2015
I was surprised that the non-stick coating on these pans was so inferior. I used the largest the most often and the coating hasn't lasted more than 8 months. I'm very careful with non-stick cookware and never use metal or put them through the dish washer but these just don't cut it. Buy AmazonsBasics pans instead, they're cheaper, better made and a better value.
Disappointed!
May 5, 2015
After 1st day of using the non-stick was no longer non-stick. Hard to wash and it says not to use non-stick spray but you have to otherwise everything will stick. Very disappointed.
Not non-stick for long
February 19, 2015
Quality is ok but handles shake a little. Definitely worth buying.EDIT:Definitely NOT worth buying if you really want NON-stick. It loses it "Non-stick" ability after 30 or so uses. Even though I only used plastic utensils and also washed with only liquid wishing soap and a sponge.Spend a little more and get something that really is NON-stick
Don't waste your money. Better options available, and certainly - better quality.
December 31, 2014
I cook a lot. I mean, A LOT. These pans do not hold up, even under modest use. Handles are flimsy, and loosen at the connecting points. The bottoms stain easily. The rims are difficult to clean. The "nonstick" surface deteriorates much sooner than it should, and scratches even when plastic utensils are used.I've been a confirmed Cuisinart fan for years, and own several of their pans. This T-fal package looked like a great bargain. You get what you pay for.I've pitched all three of these pans, and replaced them with Cuisinart Chef Classic non-stick pans in the same sizes -- available here on Amazon, and STILL a great bargain!

you can easily see that when you put oil in the pan
April 26, 2017
Thought this would be a winner, but after two uses, you can easily see that when you put oil in the pan, it drifts to the perimeter of the pan leaving the entire center uncoated. Also, the center, oddly, cooks slower. It's an uneven cooking platform. PS, I have a gas grill. It otherwise is very nonstick and easy to clean, but if the pan is not flat and not cooking evenly, it's defeats the entire purpose of the pan. Disappointing.
... using this pan and it has an overall a good nonstick surface but it isn't entirely flat
July 18, 2016
First time using this pan and it has an overall a good nonstick surface but it isn't entirely flat. This causes things like eggs to instantly spread to the outside of the pan making it so your food is all right against the edge. Very disappointing.
Why couldn't they make the base of this pan flat?
May 1, 2016
The only flaw I've found, although it's an annoying one, is that the base is slightly domed, meaning that things will tend to slide to the outer edge. This is a problem if you're doing something like frying an egg. It's hard to understand why they would have made it like this since it must have been deliberate, and I can't imagine any reason this would be beneficial, and there are plenty of reasons it isn't.
Losing Coating!
February 3, 2016
Seemed okay at 1st, but after less than one dozen uses, I see that the red "Indicator" and surrounding silver coating pattern has been coming off in the food. I pray to God it isn't a health issue! I am using a bamboo spatula only and wipe the pan clean after use with a paper towel while hot. NEVER scrubbed, NEVER used any detergents, just hot water and a soft paper towel. Am disappointed as it has so many "Super" reviews.
The legend or the myth?
March 21, 2015
I purchased based on the majority of good reviews and the recommendation from ATK, really surprised about the latter. The only complaint they had after torturing this pan way beyond whatever I'd do were loose rivets. I figured I could avoid pounding the pan on a counter or heating to 500 degrees and plunging into a bucket of ice water! I have to assume T-fal is a victim of its own success, great publicity increased its market share so quickly that the pan tested in early 2013 has only a passing similarity to the product being manufactured today. I can affirm the two times I used it nothing stuck to it...hence the two stars. The thicker bottom plate expands at a greater rate then the thin shoulder and sides when heated resulting in a dome forming across the center of the pan. Made no difference how slowly the pan is heated in my two attempts at reaching medium temperature. Once the pan cooled it returned to its former flat surface. Note: I'm using a glass top electric range which may or may not influence these results.
Warped in less than two years despite super-annoying hump in the middle
December 8, 2014
Had this for just under two years now and it's warped so that it no longer will sit flat on the burner.I bought this because it was the highest rated pan I could find on Amazon, but was pretty disappointed from the outset due to the hump in the middle. I assume it's to try to prevent warping, but the hump causes all your oil or butter to run from the center to the very edges of the pan, which was a constant annoyance for me. It would be one thing if it actually did prevent the pan from warping, but less than two years in of not very frequent use, and the pan is already ruined. Maybe all cheap-ish non-stick pans are disposable like this with very limited lifespans -- I don't have much experience with frying pans before this, so I don't really know. But it seems to me that the bottom line is that we might be better off buying an even cheaper pan if they all do this eventually.I now have a stainless steel All Clad saute pan which I'll use for most things, but I still need a new non-stick pan for things like eggs. Also I never got any utility out of the weird marker in the middle. It's supposed to indicate the temperature of the pan, but didn't seem to change much to me.

Sadly, must return due to one poor design.
January 2, 2017
It is sad that this pot has potential to be a 5 star pot. I'm not sure if it's intentional, but my pan arrived "warped" like other reviews mentioned. However, I'm not sure if this is a defect or an intentional design. The pan I received was convex, meaning the center is higher than the rest of the pan, making the oil all slide to the side. Cooking steaks would be impossible on this pan, since all the grease would slid to the corner of the pan, thus making the meat burn off the fat, and overcook without the grease to help sear it. Anyways, that's the only issue I encountered. This would have been an easy 5 star pan, if not for this design/defect, because it has all the other features of a quality pan for such a good price.

Save up your money and save some money
March 14, 2015
I'm not one for overly negative reviews but this thing became almost useless after using it once. Heating it over medium high heat for less than five minutes caused the pan to warp. Now there is a high point at the center so all oil or whatever liquid in the pan runs to the outer edges of the surface. It's like a moat of oil when you try to cook something. In true bachelor fashion, I've tried to use it for a while now but it has ultimately been designated for use in the most volatile of curries. This seems like a bargain but it isn't. Save up your money and buy a pan that is worth its price tag.

There is better - Waste of money
January 9, 2016
I ordered a set of these pans because they came highly rated on a cooking show I watch that tests cooking implements. I did not use them for a year after I purchased them because my other non-stick pans were still working well. When I finally used them I noticed that the bottom was not flat. This makes cooking difficult because all the juice and fat will run to the outside edges. I don't like to use a lot of oil so it made frying egg rolls and bacon impossible unless I wanted to fill the pan up with oil. Their customer service said"Please note that cookware is generally designed with a slightly raised center to allow for the expansion of the metals during the heating or cooking process."This is simply not true and to prove it I set out some of my pans and added a bit of water. From the picture you can see the T-fal pans are the only ones that have a raised middle and the water pools to the edge. All the other pans the water was evenly distributed and not pooling to the outside edge.I cook all the time and anyone that knows me calls me a hard core foodie. I take my cooking seriously and I cannot recommend T-fal non-stick pans. If you want a good quality non-stick pan spend $10 more and get the one in the right side of the pan. Search for "stone earth pan" and get the value for you money.
Too many structural problems for this one to be a lemon.
May 21, 2015
I purchased this pan to replace a workhorce non-stick T-Fal I've had for the last 2 years. I bought this specific one because it was an America's Test Kitchen recommendation. However, this pan turned out to be one of the most disappointing purchases I've ever made. I'm going to try to return it. I have used it 4 times and always washed by hand.1) The pan is NOT level. Oil and liquidy items pool around the edges as the center is slightly raised.2) The handle rivets are already coming loose.3) For some reason this pan takes *forever* to heat up. I use 2 other heavy-duty Calphalon non-stick pans as well as All Clad pans so I used to thicker-bottomed cookware. However, I do not own another pan that takes as long to heat.Either this one was a dud or the Chinese manufacturing facility (and T-Fal's QA department) doesn't know what the hell they're doing.
Nothing "professional" about a pan that wears through nonstick coating in 4 months!
April 19, 2015
I bougth this for Christmas and am VERY disappointed in this pan. After just 4 months of use, it is already losing its nonstick coating in several places. We have followed all directions about cleaning and re-seasoning the pan after a few uses. Yet it still is wearing very quickly. There is nothing "professional" about a pan that wears through its nonstick coating in less than 6 months!T-fal pans I have owned in the past have lasted years and years - 10+ years. This one is wearing much differently and won't even last 6 months. See pics, the coating is wearing in a circular pattern around the "thermo-spot" indicator and also beginning to wear on the right side of the pan in this picture.

Note: this review is for the 12-inch pan.I have both stainless steel cookware and cast iron, but both require a little bit of care so I decided to have one non-stick pan around for various things when I'm busy. I like the idea of an ultra non-stick surface and dishwasher safe. When I received the cookware, I fired it up my stove and cooked an egg. The non-stick properties of the pan are incredible! And if reviews are to be believed, the coating is very durable. Quite a bargain at under $30 - that is if the metal of the pan was decent quality.I saw the one star reviews talking about the pan not being flat, but with a 4.5/5 star rating I figured "How bad could it be?" Bad. Very bad. The worst part is that when the pan is cold, it is 100% flat. When it heats up, the center bows up very high making it unusable for anything abut stir-fry. And even then, on a cermic top electric stove, you're really going to have to crank the heat thanks to the uneven and low performance heating caused by the raised middle. With heated oil, I shake the pan to evenly distribute it, then two seconds later, it's pooled in a 1-inch thick ring around the edge.I'm glad I bought it from Amazon, the return was as easy as can be and didn't cost me a thing (as it should be with defective products). I didn't realize that nearly all the 1-star reviews are from the 12-inch. So I highly recommend getting the 8 or 10 inch. I'm amazed T-fal hasn't fixed the defect in the 12-inch version and I probably won't be purchasing another T-fal product as reviews of this defect go back at least four years! Amazon really shouldn't group the reviews for products like this, or at least give the user a way to separate the reviews by different sizes - I'll bet the 12-inch would not be 4.5/5 stars.
Surface started flaking after less than 2 month!
October 29, 2014
Surface started flaking after less than 2 months; T-Fal customer service is making me pay the shipping to review the defect. Prior to that, it was a great pan, so I'm not sure if I got a defective one, but it's alarming that the pan is already flaking around the head spot and around the non-stick coating marks. I called customer service and was told I needed to return the pan so they could determine if it was a factory defect. When I asked about shipping, the rep said I had to pay for the shipping and would not be reimbursed. That is completely unacceptable for a situation like this; now what should I do? Should I pay $10 to $15 to ship it back and possibly get another crappy pan or just cut my loses and toss it?
Severe warping after about 4 uses.
May 25, 2014
I bought this pan for the high reviews, ignoring the few reviews about it warping. I wish I hadn't!After a very short time and normal use, this pan developed a severe warp. The bottom bowed upwards, so the edges got extremely hot while the middle stayed cold. This makes the pan totally unusable. I took a photo of it with an L-square tool, it showed the bottom bowing up by almost 1/2 an inch! All in all, the pan lasted less than 30 days before it was totally and completely unusable. Thankfully I'm sill in my return window. It is not for mistreating the pan, either. The pan this was supposed to replace - a "Anolon Advanced Nonstick Fry Pan" that can be found here on Amazon - lasted three years, and only had to be replaced because the nonstick coating was failing.Either the quality on this item has dropped severely, or their manufacturing process produces erratic results. Either way, I won't be buying another.
