These are great
September 4, 2017
I have used these before, I even break a few up and soak overnight in a gallon of water to use on my indoor plants. (Number one reason indoor plants die=overwatering!) So since I only water indoors once a month it works better to grind up and have it in the water. These are safe for my red compost worms which is important because when they need thinning I add them to my potted plants (Indoors and out) and throw them in any small gardens I make or compost piles. Don't want to hurt the worms!
These things work!
July 24, 2016
I used this in my flower bed because my flowers were taking forever to bloom. One spike per plant and now my flowers just keep blooming. I also purchased the vegetable and tomato spikes and all my plants are producing. I recommend all the Jobes food spikes to everyone because they really work!!!
Great for Indoor Plants
August 17, 2015
Bought these mainly to perk up a gardenia and shamrock plant. In about two weeks time they both had a lot more leaves and blossoms. I did not find the spikes hard to place in the soil. These were great. You just put them in and forget about them. The price was good and the delivery was fast, Only downside is I want to buy more plants!!!
Healthy hanging baskets are the proof!
May 30, 2015
I purchased this fertilizer for a couple of hanging baskets and some containers. My baskets this year are healthier than ever. Now I attribute a lot of this to an automatic watering system I installed this year, but I have to give the fertilizer some credit too. If you can get by the awful odor when handling the spikes (you don't smell it once they are embedded in the dirt), these are a great purchase.Overall I am happy with this fertilizer and will buy it again.
like you do bulbs this time of year before planting
February 15, 2015
It's only been a week, but I can already tell a big difference. My house plants were just looking "sad..." I can see that they're fuller and already have new growth. After reading the reviews, I soaked the small stake first in water for about ten minutes, like you do bulbs this time of year before planting. I think that got the release process going faster seeing how you don't water house plants very often.
Florida Palms ~
January 14, 2014
Hesitatingly I used Jobes 6528 Fertilizer Spikes on a very sad neglected florida palm [variety unknown] on our new property. Now 5 months later it looks healthy & green; has sprouted new growth & almost 9" in width & 5" in height. Very pleased & relieved that Jobes saved this unique tree.

I always like the Jobe products and was pleased to find this on Amazon!
May 24, 2017
All purpose fertilizer spikes. This package comes in an 8-ounce ziplock bag with the 50 spikes enclosed. The spikes are easy to push into the ground near the plant site. I like to use these types of fertilizer spikes for plants in the ground especially when first planting to give them an extra boost. I planted a new landscape garden with shrubs and perennials in the front of my house and placed river rock around the shrubs. My concern was the plant itself and making sure it got a good start in this new bed. My husband and I were talking about getting fertilizer spikes the next time we went to the store. I decided to search on Amazon and found this product online at a very reasonable price. This product contains 4% nitrogen, 4% phosphate, and 4% potash derived from feather meal, bone meal, and potash sulfate. The instructions direct you to plant these spikes early in the season or at time of planting for best results. It also indicates to place the spikes in the soil evenly around the edge of the pot according to the size of each container. It recommends plant diameters of 8 inches to place four spikes around the plant. I used this recommendation of 3-4 spikes around each shrub and plant. I placed them after a rainy day so the ground was moist and I was able to push them right into the ground. There were a few of the spikes broken in transit but I could place those half spikes in smaller plants in my house or outside. Great price on Amazon as an add-on order.

Not much to say. They are fertilizer stakes for my indoor plants.
Easy to use and simple instructions.

These were easy to use and whether it is a coincidence or not out shrub, Tabochina produced flowers for the first time in 3 years. Easy to use and our plants look healthy in their pots

My plants are thriving with this. However, I did not know it was made out of fish and chicken pellets. I would have preferred an organic vegetable fertilizer. They should advertise it a bit more prominently
Mixed results
March 18, 2016
I wanted to use these organic fertilizer spikes for a few indoor plants that I have that weren’t doing too well. I broke off a couple of small pieces and put it directly into the soil for my aloe plant and dropped a piece into the water for my bamboo. Those two seem to being doing well – the aloe plant especially looks more perked up and has grown a bit. The bamboo looks ok. I also put a piece in the soil for my organic basil plant, unfortunately it is doing no better than it was prior to adding the fertilizer - I'm going to try dissolving it in water and watering it with the liquid to see if that makes a difference - it may just be the plant, since it was store bought. My indoor hyacinth has had no change either. I have a couple of self-watering herb jars I plan on putting together within the next couple of weeks, so I’m hoping after they sprout that this fertilizer will help make those flourish like the aloe – will update this review after those have been planted and some time has passed. So far I’ve had mixed results. Oh, another thing... They weirdly smell kind of like beef jerky.
Feeding your plants
October 21, 2013
Well not the skinny spikes I thought I would get but I can make them work, They last a while so it looks like a slow break down, which is good, it shouldn't gorge the plants with food but let them take it in slowly, good product.

Very flimsy packaging/poor performance in transit. Arrived broken with contents falling out.
Dug up.
July 18, 2016
Unfortunately, these attracted the neighbor dog to out garden & he dug up a few of our plants trying to get to the fertilizer spikes so we didn't get to see any positive results.
O.K. but I prefer the beads that you sprinkle on top of the soil.
May 8, 2014
I had ordered these because I couldn't find the fertilizer beads I was looking for. Now, of course, I've found them and ordered a huge sack. These spikes are probably o.k. but they are harder to put in the pots than the beads are.
Granular is better
January 20, 2014
I grow a lot of organic herbs in pots so that I can bring them inside for the winter. The spikes are ok but it takes lots. A bag of granular works better for me.
Happy Happy Plants
October 25, 2013
Used 1 per month on my small and large house plants. All were happy with no ill effects. They dissolve easily. I do wish the shape a bit easier to stick into the soil, as the shape is broad, big, chunky and they crumble easily. So you need something to help darn near nail it into the soil unless the soil is soft, you can then make a hole first and then insert a spike. They are about the size of a ladies pinky finger (a chubby one (no pun intended)). I would hardly call them a spike.I would prefer purchasing this in powder form, it would probably be easier to use.The quality is nice and apparently natural, my dog and cat both eat them if they can, also without ill effects:)

Not good enough for seedlings. This may be OK for transplanting but none of my seeds got enough nutrients with this stuff alone.

Too many spikes needed each time
June 30, 2013
I used 2 bags in one 'serving.' I was surprised to see how many spikes it recommends per plant. way too labor intensive.

Hidden poisonous ingredients!?!
April 21, 2016
Very disappointed in this company! I am new to gardening and thought a vegetable garden would be a fun thing to do with my twin two-year-old girls, while at the same time, being able to control what goes into the soil that my food is grown in. When I received my fertilizer in the mail (I was excited to try it) ripped open the top, and flipped the bag over to quickly scan the ingredients before I popped a couple in my small vegetable pots. We eat as organically as possible (initiated by my cancer diagnosis and our tiny humans health) and are in the process of removing dairy from our diet. So, I was definitely a little confused by terms such as "feather meal" and "bone meal". After some quick research I found it disturbing that my "organic fertilizer" contained ground up bones from slaughterhouse animals?!? Again, I went back to the product, disappointed that I haven't done my research, only to find that "bone meal" is not listed as an ingredient or even indicated anywhere in the Amazon details!!! So I browsed the reviews and did not see any other question about it from the 123 reviews…??? Like most people, my husband and I rely on these reviews on purchasing anything really. And I purchase 90% (I'd say) of my non-grocery items through Amazon. Unfortunately, after reading a few of these "reviews" I suspect that these people might not be "satisfied customers" as much as they are ghostwriters. It's disheartening really.Overall – I am absolutely pissed. While bone meal may have somehow slipped under the "organic" umbrella, to not list it under the product description (or ANYWHERE on the page, even the picture) feels deceitful… Even if only by omission. Other reviews made reference to their pets digging it up and eating it while One writer joked that at least it was organic! Bone meal is poisonous to cats and dogs!! The pet poison help line listed side effects of ingestion as:Nausea, Drooling, Vomiting, Diarrhea, Bloody vomit, Lethargy, Abdominal pain, Bloat, Pancreatitis!! Seriously?!?! Yeah, no thanks. Not an "organic treat" that I am putting in reach of my toddlers and dogs!!!! Thank you but no thanks. Apparently 123 other people are either aware of this component or were simply OK with it...unbelievable
Best fertilizer is worm tea
June 25, 2015
I tried these in my veggie garden and my house plants, and my tree sprouts. I saw absolutely no difference whatsoever. Best fertilizer is worm tea. I will continue to use that and not try these quick conveniences that don't work. Oh and each plant requires about 8, so you may think you're getting a lot for the money. You're not.
