Good USB dock
February 14, 2017
This is what you want if you want to use a single USB cable to connect your laptop to multiple monitors and USB devices.I have mine set up with two ASUS 23" monitors + ethernet + a few USB peripherals. I use it with both a Windows 10 laptop (my work machine) and a 2012 MacBook Pro (my personal laptop) and it works well with both. Windows comes with the appropriate DisplayLink drivers, OS X does not but they're free - just search "OS X DisplayLink drivers" on your favorite search engine.Like most Anker products, it's made with quality materials and isn't ugly to look at. As far as I can tell, it performs on-par with the Lenovo and HP USB docks I've used at work. It may not have a VGA port like the HP dock I'm used to, but DVI+HDMI is more than enough for two monitors.
which is sometimes an issue with 3rd party display devices like this.
May 9, 2016
Got this for my work laptop, a Macbook Pro on which I dual boot Linux and OSX. Neither operating system supported this dock's display capabilities out of the box, but for OSX it was only a matter of a quick download of a DisplayLink driver to get all of this dock's functionality working perfectly. In Linux, however, DisplayLink indicates that the operating system is unsupported. I tried both Ubuntu and Red Hat distributions without luck. I honestly didn't except the display to work with Linux or OSX, however, so if you're a Mac user, you're in for a pleasant surprise!Once I installed the DisplayLink driver in OSX, the dock worked exactly as advertised. I have a usb keyboard and a few other peripherals plugged into the USB 2.0 ports, an ethernet cable, and a monitor connected to the DVI connection, and experience no lag whatsoever. I can disconnect and reconnect the dock while the laptop is running without trouble, which is sometimes an issue with 3rd party display devices like this.
Just what I was looking for!
March 10, 2016
I have an older personal laptop and a laptop from work that I wanted to be able to swap out with my dual monitor home office setup. The personal laptop only had a VGA and HDMI out, while the work laptop only had VGA and DisplayPort. Having to figure out which wires go to which laptop in which spots was becoming a pain. Also, the older personal laptop only seemed to allow one of the two connections to be used at a time. This is exactly what I was looking for to solve this problem. Both laptops had at least one USB 3.0 port. One laptop is running Windows 10, the other Windows 7. I downloaded the latest software from the website suggested for Windows 10 compatibility. Once everything was plugged into the device, and the software was installed on both laptops, I was able to get both working with the device smoothly. Now I can simply plug in the USB cord to either laptop and make use of two monitors, speakers, a usb mouse/keyboard (wireless), and there are USB slots available for other devices as well.So far so good. I will update the review if I run into any problems but now that it is all setup, so far, its working great!
Nice all in one to connect for use with one pc
December 30, 2015
Had received one that did. It work correctly, had a lot of issues installing drivers and recognizing periferals but Anker sent me another for free without me returning the first one and this one works very well and performs fully now. I used for one pc and it's nice to have everything in one place, due to my needing to use two pc's for work I have a KV switch and was able to connect one side of the KV switch to the Anker in order to keep the mouse and keyboard available for two pc's as I need that for my work. it keeps everything in one spot and the 3.0 usb makes performance that much faster! Thank you !!! I took pics so you can see everything connected! I have all of these connected to the Anker: 1 side of my KV switch (containing 1 USB mouse, 1 black Widow Ultimate razor keyboard), 1 laser printer, on 23" monitor, one wired network connection. My laptop is connected to the USB and runs all of this flawlessly! Thank You Anker!!!!!
Setup a snap on Windows 8.1 - works flawlessly
December 23, 2013
PROS* sturdy construction; includes solid metal sturdy foot (removable) for vertical orientation* plenty of 3.0 USBs: 4 USB ports in the back, 2 in front* HDMI monitor works flawlessly* slimline appearance* blue power light to let you know it is powered and on* set-up was a snap; literally plug in, download latest drivers from website, presto, done.* there is no visible color deviation or distortion on the monitor compared to connecting my external monitor to the laptop motherboardCONS* wish there would be more than one charging USB port, but 6 total USB ports ain't bad. The other 5 do have nominal power for USB 2.0MY EQUIPMENT which is connected through the Anker Docking Station* Lenovo U530 Touch IdeaPad* Lenovo optical DVD burner* Logitech USB Speakers (USB powered)* Dell 27" LED backlit touchscreen monitor* Epson WF-3520 inkjetI self-publish books and I run Photoshop and some seriously graphic-intensive publishing and layout software - hence the big touchscreen monitor. I have not had one issue with the Anker being able to handle all that I can throw at it.
Anker makes great stuff... this dock is no different!
June 25, 2013
This had no reviews when I purchased it. Compared to all the other USB 3.0 docks out there I went this route strictly on two reasons;1) Anker products in general are 4 to 5 star rated items. So I was able to establish trust in the name even though I have never purchased an electronic device from them before.2) When looking at other options many of the reviews were not very good. Most of the 3.0 docks were 3 stars rated at best... so not very convincing to me.I have a new Lenovo Thinkpad Twist running Windows 8... and I almost bought the Lenovo branded 3.0 hub for it. The weak user review average kept me form doing so.... which made me look for another option. That was the decision part of the purchase.... I just hooked up the hub.... it auto updated and configured itself (took a few minutes).... and then I was ready to rock and roll!I have a triple monitor setup now.... the Thinkpad 12.5" screen... plus two 20" monitors! I have one monitor setup as DVI to DVI and the second monitor is setup as DVI to HDMI (purchased BlueRigger Cables for this setup, very nice stuff). So now I can take all my work and spread it across any of the 3 screens.... see attached pic. (Notice Dock sitting under the two larger screens on my desk)I have a USB printer, USB Hard Drive and network cable plugged into the dock. All work as intended.I have two cables hooked into my laptop... the USB 3.0 cable that goes to the dock.... and the power cable.I am also using the onboard speakers on the laptop just to maximize desk space. So all-in-all.... this was the perfect purchase for my work needs. When I am ready to go on a business trip I have a second power supply in my bag so I can leave the primary one at my desk. I avoid a lot of wiring hassle by purchasing a secondary power supply for travel purposes... and it only cost me $13 from Amazon... so why not buy a spare??? LOLI will post any thoughts as they arise.... I am one day deep into my new work setup using the Anker USB 3.0 Dock.... so far I am impressed with ease and functionality of the device. And one other note... the base to make the unit stand upright is very nice and heavy... so it will help stabilize the Anker 3.0 Dock when standing up.I hope these details helps those searching for a suitable USB 3.0 Dock... if you have any questions just let me know. I tried to be as detailed as I could.... but am happy to answer any questions. So for $99 I am very happy with what this product delivers... and it looks nice too! Since this is a universal USB 3.0 this will be usable for many years to come... well at least until the even faster USB 4.0 comes out! ;)5 Starts for value, functionality, ease of use and good looks!

Tonka Tested....Daddy approved!!
September 22, 2017
I have kids that dont like to keep thier hands off of things that are not meant for them to play with. (I.E. dads wireless keyboard) I went with a cheaper model so when they inevitably stomp on it, drop it, or spill something on it I wont be too heartbroken. Setup was easy... Plug in the usb dongle, remove the little tags from the surprise included batteries, turn them on and your set!! (On windows 10 at least). Very next day your son deciceds to drive his 1970s model Tonka dumptruck over the keyboard a few times, THEN proceeds to DROP said Tonka on top when he realizes hes been caught. Bet your envisioning keys everywhere, cracked plastic and death to my fancy new wireless keyboard huh? Nope!! 1 little scratch of the paint on the Win key! Not a stuck or broken key everything works flawlessly. Now dont go buying this thinking its indestructable, Can pretty much assure you it has a weakness, they all do, my kids just havent found it yet! Surprising little tidbit I read on the box and not in the description; the keyboard batteries last up to 36 months and the mouse goes for 18. If I get 6 months outta the (not advertised) included batteries Ill be a happy camper. My old set was lucky to get a month!! Anyhow everything with this set has surpassed my expectations by leaps and bounds. Its light, comfortable, and works fantastically from my couch (12 or so feet from the pc). Im not a power user or super gamer so did not need all the programable buttons and whatnot some of the more costly models include. But I am a cordcutter and my PC is mostly used for tv and movies. The volume keys are awesome for that. And i do like the other function keys. So for the price and features this is a deal and a half to me. Should this one get destroyed by my children I will definately reorder the same.
Great Device Combination, Cheap Price.
August 23, 2017
Great device combination, cheap price. I bought this pair because the keyboard in my laptop didn't operate reliably, and I needed that function to work for me without problems. This pair appealed to me for two reasons: first, it was wireless, so as long as I had a spare USB port for its dongle, which I did, I was in business. Second, it was so inexpensive that I assessed that I could buy it on speculation, and not feel badly about tossing it if it didn't do the job for me. As it happened, it has worked so well that I purchased another set, so that I could leave one at home and one on my campus, and avoid packing it when I went from home to campus. Oh, and, the feel of the keys is quite satisfying, in contrast to the laptop's own, and the mouse beats its touchpad utterly. What's not to like?
Amazing for the price
June 19, 2017
For the price, this is an amazing deal. I am by no means a keyboard fanatic, I do not care about the sound or feedback, but as far as I can tell this is a very solid keyboard and mouse. It's not very nice, it being entirely made out of plastic, but what can you expect from a $20 Bluetooth Mouse and Keyboard? The set up process was amazing, I put in the bluetooth dongle, flipped a switch on the mouse and keyboard and I instantly started using it, no set up required. At worst, the keyboard has hanged every now and then. Nothing appears on screen and then woosh, all of my sentances instantly type themselves out. That's only happened a few times out of the many hours I've used the set. Also, you won't have to change the batteries for a whole year pretty much, which is a relief.

July 1, 2016
while its not the loudest keyboard i have ever had it you can hear when the keys fly back to the ready position. The wireless function i was able to get to work to about 35 feet away in a conference room with out a problem. for the price point I don't think this combo can be beet. I do wish there were a way to tell the mouse is on besides moving it around with the computer on. while it is nice not having the red light underneath at least when it was visible light you knew your mouse was working and on:) I will try to respond back when the battery dies in the mouse and keyboard respectively to give a good understanding of product life. This review was typed out on the keyboard!
Worked Perfectly and Wireless!
March 16, 2016
It seems as though once one person gets a wireless keyboard and mouse then everyone wants one! I have even had people steal each others at work so I went ahead and purchased a bunch knowing they go quickly. This is a basic wireless combo with a keyboard and mouse. It's not the fancy version but gets the job done. You basically take the usb piece and plug it into your computer and BAM!! it works with no wires. In my experience Logitech has been a good brand for these types of items. I haven't had many issues with them overall. Sometimes you will get it where it loses connection or someone else picks up your wireless and you'll see a phantom pointer moving on your screen. I haven't had these issues with these new logitech mouse and keyboard. I am very satisfied and so are my coworkers who use them! I have also purchased the upgraded version and it works well too! I would definitely recommend this product and brand.
Plug in the USB gizmo and pull the tab on the batteries in the mouse and keyboard to get power, and Shazam! It works.
August 1, 2015
I got this great package yesterday, and it replaced my old wired keyboard and mouse on my old HP computer. It works great. I had problems with the built in mouse pad on the Chromebook 15, and my RN wife was afraid that I might end up with carpal tunnel syndrome and to suggested I try this cordless set with my Acer Chromebook. So, I tried it on my new Acer Chromebook 15, and it worked very well.It works great, and may be faster with the mouse on the Chrome book versus the HP.I had been considering buying the Acer Chrome Desk Top. If I can use a system to transfer the Image to my HP VGA 22 monitor, I will use my Chromebook 15 for what I now use my HP for on my office desk. The only mild complaint, is I can't find a sleep key for my HP monitor. So, I just push the off button.

Great docking station, amazing customer service
August 22, 2017
I wanted to plug a monitor and other peripherals to my laptop with out the hassle of plugging a bunch of cables with it. Set up is a breeze and the build quality is top notch. This product solved my problems but I've experienced some problems with it in the couple of weeks of use. In my case, I loaded up the USB 2.0 hub in the back with an external DVD drive (my laptop didn't have one), a gaming controller and a wireless keyboard/mouse fob. I didn't have any issues with this set up for about a week. After that, a message on my computer telling me that the USB device malfunction started appearing all the time and the keyboard/mouse would not work. I tried solving this problem by unplugging and re-plugging all the connections and nothing work. What worked was moving the keyboard fob to the front and using the USB 3.0 connections. However, i tried using the 2nd USB 3.0 connection to transfer data from my phone and the lag on the keyboard/mouse is awful (when it works, at times its unresponsive). I don't know if I'm overloading the docking station with too many peripherals but i was expecting it to work flawless all the time, specially for the price. It's not a deal breaker for me, but something to keep in mind.UPDATE:I am truly amazed with Anker's customer service, after my experience with the product they quickly emailed me to try and resolve the issue. They are really good at replying fast to emails at any time during the day. After about 2 days of communication, customer service suspected that I had a faulty product and decided to ship me a new one free of charge in exchange for the old docking station. I'm pleased with the new docking station and will update after a couple month's of use. I would not let a bad experience deter me from buying any Anker products in the future. They stand by their products no matter what.
Great customer service from Anker
July 16, 2017
This is an update to my earlier review & statement"Couldn't get it to function with my setup, even with Anker Tech support."Anker did contact me directly to ensure that, though the USB docking station did not work for me, I was satisfied with their service and efforts to resolve the issues. Can't say as I have seen such an effort very often in many years. Several intelligent exchanges back and forth, finally a small gift card for my time and patience. I have bought many cables, charges and other devices from Anker, and always recommend them as the top in their category. I'll upgrade the review from 1 star to 4 because of their outstanding service. Keep up the good work Anker!
Works for me, but glithcy with keyboards and mice
June 8, 2017
I won't belabor the features and niceties others have pointed out, but I am using it with two Asus 24" monitors and a Lenovo Yoga 700. It works fine 95% of the time, but every now and then it will not connect to my mouse and keyboard and I have to power-cycle it to make the connections. My Dell single-monitor dock never had that problem, so I attribute it to this docking station rather than the laptop. Otherwise, I'm pretty happy with my set up. Sure, I can bring the Dell dock to meetings and such, and this one is really too big to be practical for travel, but I still have the Dell dock and I don't ever need two monitors on the road. Recommended.
Convenient setup for using Mac with dual display
March 2, 2016
This surely makes it easy for me to hook my Mac up to two monitors, USB keyboard, external speakers, and other USB devices. I like being able to just plug in one cable for all of that. One thing that I don't like is the animations, like minimizing windows, are slow and pixelated. I would not use this for things that require graphics performance like gaming, but I like it for normal computer usage and when coding which it is perfect for.My system:13" Macbook Pro with Retina Display 2015Logitech KeyboardLogitech SpeakersDual monitors (Asus 2k res)Apple Magic Mouse

September 28, 2014
I've had this docking station in place for a week and have been satisfied. There are some quirks but overall it has been functional to add dual display capabilities with my system. I have a Dell XPS 13 (2014 model) running windows 8.1. The set-up was not obvious - i'm still not sure how I got the monitors set-up; but, now that they are set-up it works well. The first monitor, set-up with the DVI connection, was straight forward and automatically connected. The second monitor, set-up with HDMI, did not automatically detect. I had to unplug and re-plug the docking station a number of times while toggling the input button on the monitor. After setting it to HDMI an number of times it finally worked. Since then, I have to re-start the docking station each time I start the system in the morning or both monitors will not detect. Also, the power button the the docking station does not seem to do anything. Other than those quirks, it runs fine. I have even been able to connect my logitech dongle (for my keyboard and mouse) to the USB2.0 connectors on the back of the docking station (despite others that seem to have issues with this). Notably, only one of the front USB3.0 indicates that it runs power, but I have been able to charge devices from the USB2.0 slots in the back.
Good not Great
March 29, 2014
I have a New Lenova Yoga II Clementine Orange with the micro HDMI port. I have two ViewSonic VX2252MH 22-Inch LED-Lit LCD Monitor, Full HD 1080p, 2ms, 50M:1 DCR, Game Mode, HDMI/DVI/VGA, VESA connected.I use the USB cable to connect. Does not connect on first try and I have the most up to date software for Anker installed. I am unsure if it is a Lenova or Anker Driver or Windows 2008 issue, but I have to unplug, change my settings, double click on the software, replug in (does not work), unplug one more time, and replug in and it works. It is such a pain each time plugging it in to get it to work. So factor at least 4 minutes each time you plug in to get it to work with you Lenova.Once you get it working it works as it should. The screen resolution does not go that high, but that is a Lenova issue, but it works. It does have some lag if you use your mouse scroll button, but will refresh.I gave 4 stars as I think it would work better with other laptops as the Lenova has issues of its own or i is a Windows issue.

I like almost everything
October 8, 2017
I like almost everything. It worked right out of the box. Wonderful! Its shortcomings are, the # sign is NOT the "upper case" 3. What is typed is the English currency pound sign. Was this keyboard made for England??? Another caveat is the @ sign. The @ sign is NOT the "upper case" 2. And, then it stands to reason, " (quote) is not on the keyboard next to the ENTER key.1. I figured out the @ and " were interchangeable. So when I am typing an e-mail address I use the " key, and when using quotes, I use the upper case 2.2. The # sign was ALL TOGETHER different. I was going to return the keyboard because I use lots and lots of # signs. I ACCIDENTLlY came accross the #. It was the back slash!!!!3. So where is the back slash???? Can someone help?? I don't want to return because I know this "happened" on three of these brand new boards. So it definitely is the board. Is there a way to change, is there a way to program and F key for the back slash (if I can find out where it is...)4. I will be calling the company tomorrow, wish me luck.
Works with Ubuntu 17.04 Linux, good value for the $
September 23, 2017
Works well with Ubuntu 17.04 once I installed the Solaar package. Otherwise only the mouse was paired with the unifying receiver. Solarr lets you pair multiple devices. It's available on github (posting a link here is not allowed). Keys are OK for an inexpensive non-mechanical keyboard. I would not do a lot of writing or programming but for casual use it is OK. Mouse is actually pretty good;: it even mostly works on glass (1/4", bottom surface frosted) but works better on paper or fabric. For the price, it's hard to beat.
Good K&M combo for the average user in the average home
June 19, 2017
I used to have a huge wireless keyboard and mouse (also by logitech). Had it for a few years, but it started to get crudded up. I tried to clean it myself, but then saw that this was available for cheap so I decided to get it. I like that it's light and fairly quiet. Seems pretty resistant to dust and dirt and crumbs so far. Not crazy about the small size of the mouse, though. This is like a kid's mouse. I need something that fits an adult hand (and I dont even have that big of a hand!).Not the greatest K&M combo in the world, but good for home use and the price is right.
Good, but...
April 20, 2017
This mouse uses a 2.4ghz signal. The same as a home wifi network. In our apartment building, there are a lot of competing signals and the mouse keeps being cut off. We have it hooked to my dad's Chromebox that he has hooked to the tv and uses from across the living room, so it's 10-15 feet away. It may work better if we'd use it for a computer right on the desk. The keyboard works wonderfully, though. I just bought a bluetooth mouse to replace this one and we aren't having any problems. I don't think there is anything wrong with the mouse, other than that it has the weakest signal.
Best keyboard for the price.
June 24, 2016
This is the best keyboard ever since it is so simple and cheap. Don't care for the mouse. I like my Logitech MX Master. The Logitech MX Master can work on either Bluetooth or a Logitech Unifying receiver. The downside with this keyboard is that it has a proprietary USB dongle that only works with this keyboard. It seems like with the Bluetooth technology we have today that my MacBook Pro's Bluetooth antenna should be able to handle a simple keyboard. I like bluetooth only devices because my laptop only has 2 USB ports and when I bring it to work I don't want to have to plug a million things into it. I have my external monitor and my USB dongle for this keyboard. The bluetooth only keyboards that I have seen available are more designed for travel use and have weird layouts of the keys. The layout on this keyboard is perfect for my needs and is easy to type on, so I can't move on to anything else yet.
Great value for OK equipment
January 4, 2016
At $19 with batteries included this is a great value. The keyboard feels OK. It has an ON/OFF switch, but does not have an indicator light to show that it is ON. A light might help me remember to turn it off to save battery. It worked reliably from 30 feet away. The M185 mouse is OK. It's significantly lighter than my old Logitech M305 mouse, and has smooth plastic sides where the M305 has nice grippy sides. This M185 mouse has an On/Off switch, but has no indicator light on top, and the motion tracker on the bottom seems to use light outside my range of vision. It hasn't been an issue for me, but it seems like it might have been nicer if the keyboard and the mouse used the same size batteries. The Keyboard uses two AAA, the mouse uses one AA battery.

Good until I upgraded Macbooks
July 10, 2017
Ive had this hub for a few months. I use this to connect 2 monitors/keyboard/mouse/headphones. It worked well with my previous macbook pro. After upgrading to the latest Macbook Pro, the audio form the headphones cuts out (for 20-30 seconds) a few times a day, which is pretty annoying. I'll update this if we find a way to fix it, but I'm having trouble getting a response from the seller.
The stand is nice and heavy piece of metal
August 31, 2016
This item was returned to Amazon. The 2 main issues with this device is the stand and the video drive. The stand is nice and heavy piece of metal. But it slides into a hole on the device, but it is very loose. It leans and it seems like this is by design. I didn't understand. I tried just about every combination to get the unit to "click" or "snap" or get snug into the base. And the 2nd issue is the USB video driver. I know this is no fault of Anker, but the driver would often require a reboot or other means to force the display to come on. If it cannot just display when the laptop comes out of sleep or on boot, it isn't worth the headache for my wife.
Some issues on an otherwise good product.
March 2, 2016
I'm using this on my Windows 10 Lenovo laptop at work. Overall, it works well. However, on a daily basis I keep running into issues with this. For example, sometimes I will connect my laptop and get nothing. I think need to log into my laptop and sometimes the dock springs into life. Other times, the screen will work but the keyboard and mouse doesn't. I need to reboot the Anker to get it functioning again. Since this is at work, I disconnect and connect my laptop several times a day between meetings etc. and I run into this at least 2-3 times which can get annoying. At home, I have a lenovo dock and it works perfectly. I am a big Anker fan but I'm not very pleased with the dock.
Can't work with other graphics adaptors
March 10, 2015
This set up on my wife's computer with no problems. We both use our laptop at home and at the office. At the office we plug in our J5 usb adaptor to use the 2nd monitor. I installed Anker at our home, used her computer, plugged everything in and everything worked with no problem. I plug in my computer and I can't get the 2nd display to work at home with our HDMI 2nd monitor. We both have Dells. A message pops up saying displaylink doesn't work when other USB graphics drivers are installed. I uninstalled as directed. It still doesn't work. Starting to get frustrated. If I only use my wife's laptop. I'm totally happy with this product.3/11/15 Update: I am returning this product. On my other laptop I already use a J5 USB adaptor and even though the software was uninstalled, Anker's software cannot install. Then I found out that for the same price J5 makes a docking station with 4 USB ports and all are 3.0, and basically, just as awesome an Anker. True, 2 less USB's, but nothing my USB hub can't solve. DVI or VGA? I also have that adaptor. Lost 8 hours of my time trying to make it work.SO if you already have J5, don't bother, just buy the J5 docking station.
Very close to perfect for a computer savy user but with a few drawbacks. 3.5 stars
February 23, 2015
This thing is great but Ive had a few issues with it. The first is that the graphics drivers suck. On my tv (via hdmi) it had 3 different settings to adjust the screen size to the tv but all of them were way off. Because of this I have to plug my hdmi into my computer still and use the graphics drivers from my computer. There is a tiny bit of lag too but its far less than the lag usually associated with an led tv or something. I really enjoy the product itself though. Ive had it for a few weeks now and it runs well and looks nice. It is smaller than I expected and it performs very well. Like I said earlier the biggest issue is the software that it comes with. If they could fix the tv issue and provide better software in general it would be worth 5 stars. Currently I rate it at 3.5 but there is no half star so 3 it is.Sidenote, I would really like to have an optical audio jack built into this. I have one in my laptop and I prefer to use optical to a regular 3.5mm headset jack so I have to have another cord and having this option in the dock could really give it a competitive advantage over other docks.Update: I got a new monitor and I cant adjust any of the settings because the software requires the monitor to be plugged into the computer's vga port. This isn't the products fault but I'm sure that if the software the dock came with was better, this wouldnt be an issue.
Having used a traditional Docking Station for years, I ...
December 18, 2014
Having used a traditional Docking Station for years, I was excited to find one that was not specific to the laptop being used. The Anker Universal Docking Station uses a USB port and can handle 2 Monitors as well as other peripherals such as printers, scanners, keyboards etc.Unfortunately, unlike the traditional docking station, you can not leave the laptop closed (or tucked out of the way) and run everything from the monitors/peripherals. I contacted Anker and they confirmed that there is no way to transfer the 'primary display' from the laptop screen to the monitor, which means that the Start button, Taskbar, Task Manager, etc, remain accessible only on the laptop. I probably would not have purchased this item if I had been aware of this limitation.

Good Keyboard - Lousy Mouse
October 6, 2017
As expected, based on the price, the keyboard and mouse are both lightweight and cheap. However, I like the feel of the keyboard. It's keys are more "old school", which I definitely prefer over the lower profile types. The mouse is pretty poor, though. The plastic edges of the lighter color band wrapping around the top of the mouse can be felt, so it doesn't feel smooth in the hand and will certainly pick up hand grime. The roller indents are not quite solid enough. The sensor is too sensitive, so that when I pick the mouse up to reposition it the screen pointer moves more than my old Logitech mouse so I have to pick it up higher before putting it back down. Worse, the sensor seems to be slightly misaligned compared to other Logitech mouses I've owned, so that it wants to move at a slight angle when I move it straight up. Again, I've had several other Logitech mouses and never had a problem. I purchased two of these MK270 units and the problems are the same on both. Lastly, the two that I received did NOT come with the unifying receiver. I've decided not to send both back because of this (although I AM sending one back because the keyboard itself was defective). Because I like the keyboard so much, I'm going to keep it and use it alongside an old Logitech mouse and deal with two dongles.
this is an excellent buy for notebook users who have to work long ...
August 8, 2017
Reliable and well shaped. Would have graded it higher, but the keys are somewhat stiff with too high a travel--typing is work, compared to the Microsoft keyboard, for example. But the price is right, and having the separate input devices increased the useability of my notebook over a full workday enormously from an ergonomic viewpoint, especially in tandem with a standing desk. If you can live with the harder keys. this is an excellent buy for notebook users who have to work long hours, and a much cheaper alternative to a separate monitor--just elevate the computer to ideal eye height, and leave the keyboard and mouse on the desk.
Excellent keyboard; terrible mouse.
July 28, 2017
While the combined keyboard and mouse offered here at Amazon is a great deal (especially when I picked it up as a part of a PrimeDay Special), the keyboard itself is excellent while the mouse is a disappointment. The keyboard has a large, spacious layout with slightly textured keys. I absolutely love it. The feedback is perfect too. While I don't use the additional "shortcut" buttons on the very top of the keyboard, the on/off switch above the number pad is convenient and saves battery life. Other keyboards I've used in the past included a switch on the bottom, if at all.Again, the mouse is a disappointment however. It is both too small and ergonomically awkward to use for my slightly large, male hands. Scrolling with the center wheel stutters up and down documents and pages when browsing online instead of the smooth, natural scrolling of my former mouse. In all, it works to point-and-click around a screen but is more annoying than its worth. If your hands are tiny, this may work for you. Otherwise, purchase the keyboard separately and look elsewhere for a mouse.
Received non-Unifying version; interference(?) issues made it unusable
April 15, 2017
I was satisfied with the build quality of both pieces of this set (as expected given experience using Logitech products over the years); I received the non-Unifying-receiver version and experienced what seemed to be interference (I work in an office with numerous wireless devices operating on various frequencies). Could potentially also have been a power issue as it sometimes seemed one or both units would power down or enter a sleep mode; fresh batteries did not change this nor could I discover any setting that would affect it. I reluctantly returned this. I suspect the Unifying version would work for me as I subsequently began using a Logitech mouse with Unifying receiver and have experienced no issues.
mouse great, keyboard great when it works, irritating when it doesn't
August 25, 2016
I really wanted to like this, but I frequently have the same problems some others have reported with this keyboard. It really lags sometimes. In other words, I type in a few characters (doesn't matter which application, same behavior in Word, Firefox, Notepad, etc) and then wait several seconds for the letters to show up on the screen. The mouse works great, even when the keyboard isn't doing so well. The fact that the mouse keeps working while the keyboard lags, combined with the observation that the keyboard sometimes gets a lot better after I turn it off/on, leads me to believe that this is most likely not a wireless conflict with my 2.4 Ghz wireless USB interface. I think it's just a problem keyboard.Update: I used a USB extension to put the USB connector closer to the keyboard and have had no problems since. Updating to 3 stars.
Great keyboard, mouse failed at 8 months
January 25, 2015
I love this mouse and keyboard combo. The keys are soft-touch and low-profile, so my wrists don't hurt after hours of use. My only complaint is that sometimes the mouse's scroll-wheel just.. doesn't work. It rolls, but the computer doesn't think it's doing anything. This has happened while browsing the web, in Office applications, and most notably in video games. Sometimes it starts working again on its own, and sometimes I have to restart the software or reboot the computer. Very intermittent but weird. I've never had this issue with Logitech wireless mice, so not sure if mine is just a dud. I still love this combo though, the issue isn't serious enough to warrant a return.Update at 8 months: The mouse's scroll-wheel continued to randomly stop working, and then the mouse started failing entirely. I replaced the batteries so that's not the issue.. it just stopped working. Turning it off and on again fixed the issue a couple of times, but now it doesn't work at all. I have another logitech wireless mouse (stand alone) that has been working for far longer, so I don't know if this is just an issue with the combo mouse or if I just got a dud.

Do not buy this
September 6, 2017
Firs off when I got the device it seemed like it had been opened before and once I did star pulling it out of the box I could tell that it had been returned and poorly repackaged. I figured I'd try it out and within a couple of days I started having issues with it. I kept getting Windows errors stating "USB device not recognized". I was skeptical about buying this item in the first place and should have gone with my gut feeling. I have set up a return with Amazon and have purchased a different brand. And... it just went out on me while typing this review, of course.Pros:Easy install and set upCons:Doesn't work

Originally I was very happy with it, but after 4 months, the USb ports started failing. I originally thought it was the mouse and replaced that, then the keyboard, but I kept having sporadic failures where the keyboard and/or mouse would lose power. I've tried switching out all of the cables, including the HDMI with the same result. Finally, the USB connections started failing as soon as I booted up. The keyboard and mouse would light up then die. If I unplugged them and plugged them back in, same result. I also tried using the other two open USB ports in the back as well as the front with the same result. It should be noted that I only had 2 of the available 6 USB ports in use, so there shouldn't have been a power issue. Normally Anker makes a very good product, but in this case I've been very disappointed.
Windows 7 rocks, Windows 10 does not work....
September 2, 2015
Updated 11-2015 for Windows 10I put the blame on Windows 10 but it is what it is. After a WIn 10 update, dock stopped working - displays sometimes on sometimes off but Ethernet cable completely offline. Plugged same dock into Win 7 machine, all works fine. So if have Windows 10, best to wait until Anker can figure out what MS is doing.Anker tech support did reply to my help request, so good company that backs product. Unfortunately, just the usual uninstall driver, reinstall, repeat repeat repeat advice.... Tried all manner of sequences, and confirmed. They did offer to replace but I am outside warranty and there is nothing wrong with their product hardware - still works great with my Win 7 machine. So if have Windows 7, worked for over a year no worries. Great product. If upgrading to Windows 10, Anker's got bugs. Look at their support site and board to see if they fixed it. Right now they seem not to have clue. Until then, better to buy a USB hub and a display link USB adapter - this will not save you time plugging stuff the only devices the docking station does in Windows 10 is the display, USB ports and sound jack if you use external speakers. My Original Review - for Windows 7 Jul 2014Waited a bit before writing this review. Hope do not jinx it! Working well on my Toshiba Satellite laptop running Windows 7 Pro. No speed lag that I notice doing office work, but not a gamer or graphic designer. Station's stand keeps it very steady, have not knocked it over even though bump it occasionally.
Almost complete failure
May 4, 2015
I don't write reviews often, but I felt like I had to after using this dock.Everything seems fine at first: install the drivers, plug in your devices, plug in your laptop, do a restart and everything works! Horray right? Except after a few disconnections and reconnections, the displays show a blank screen with a visible mouse cursor. According to Ankers web site this is a known bug with DisplayLinks software and will point you to some ticket (http://www.displaylink.com/support/ticket.php?id=337) that solves this. It describes an issue windows 7 and Radeon cards. The problem is, I have windows 8 and an Nvidia card, so clearly this issue extends farther than Anker/Displaylink thinks, and they're proposed solution wouldn't even work for me. I can get it working again by uninstalling the software and restarting, but surely enough after one disconnection and reconnection, its back to the blank screen. So I have to reinstall everything every time I disconnect my laptop just to get it working. I've tried everything to get this to function properly. I've uninstalled this thing dozens of times, restarted coutlessly, used Displaylinks useless "Driver cleaner" patch, even tried a system restore. Nothing works because the software is just complete garbage.I bought this dock because its the most well reviewed usb dock on amazon. However, there's multiple threads on Displaylinks forums describing this issue (http://www.displaylink.org/forum/forumdisplay.php?f=28) but strangely not many on Amazon. I would be VERY skeptical of these 5 star reviews around here.
Superb -- as long as it works
July 22, 2014
From other reviews, I gather that USB docking stations can still be cranky devices, but the Anker is flawless. The unit sets up effortlessly, recognizes devices you plug into it quickly. Unplug the one USB 3.0 cable connecting it to your computer and everything comes up again as it should when you replug it in. I'm using a ThinkPad Helix with one 1920x1080 HDMI monitor and one 1680x1050 DVI-D monitor, with a DVI-D to DVI-I adaptor on the Anker side of the cable. The chip/software that makes the display part of this work is the widely used and reliable technology from DisplayLink, and when, in the software-loading process, you are told to go on-line for a software upgrade, you are directed to the DisplayLink website. My first unit installed and worked flawlessly -- and then completely died after two days. Anker's customer service was excellent. They apologized and replaced the unit promptly. The replacement unit is just fine. You might think I would knock off a star for the failure of the first unit, but Anker earns it back with its superb customer service.UPDATE: The replacement unit worked well for 5 weeks and then died. Anker customer service was again excellent. They returned my money promptly, courteously, and with an apology.Given the large number of favorable reviews, I may have been very, very unlucky. If you want to try your luck, you can do so with the knowledge that Anker customer support actually supports its customers.
Graphics were a little slow
January 11, 2014
This seems like it could really be a good product. I have a laptop that I like to plug into two monitors at my desk where I have a workstation set up. With the two monitors, a mouse, keyboard, external harddrive, and speakers, I had a lot of cables to unplug from my computer anytime I would take it somewhere. I wanted something that would make this process a little easier. This had a lot of good reviews so I ordered it.As I was setting it up it seemed very good quality, durable construction, and sturdy plug-ins/ports. The software installed very quickly. I was very pleased how quickly and easily everything set up.It had plenty of USB ports for all my devices, as well as being able to plug in both of my monitors. So far so good. The only complaint I had against this, is that the graphics were slow. As I moved my mouse around the screen it would lag a little bit. Not very much, but enough to be noticeable. Also when I drug the cursor to the bottom of the screen to pull up the task bar, instead of gliding up smoothly, it was choppy. Same thing with opening windows. I made sure that I was using the 3.0 port on my laptop too. This was very disappointing as it seems like a great product, but I could not use it if the graphics would be lagging like that. And, to be fair, it could have been a single faulty device. Or just my computer might not have worked well with it. But it definitely wasn't what I was looking for. I needed smooth flawless graphics performance.

MK 270 -- not unifying receiver
August 22, 2017
As a previous reviewer noted, there are two versions of the mk 270. This was listed as being a unifying receiever model, but I received a nano receiver that is not a unifying receiver. Since I don't have other logitech products I'm trying to sync, I don't care too much, but this is not how the listing advertising this product. That being said, the product seems to work pretty well -- the keyboard is decent for a $20 keyboard, the mouse is a little small but works, set up was painless, etc. Worked well with my cranky old desktop upgraded to W10 last year.
Bah, humbug.
August 22, 2017
The mouse works fine, the keyboard is iffy. Some keys seem to work all the time, others are pretty spotty, and the direction arrow keys simply quit for no apparent reason whatsoever. Until they come back on for no apparent reason whatsoever. I've used Logitech for ...it seems like decades... and have never had a problem until now. (So of course I threw away the box... because I'm a dork.) So ... it's mine now until I buy another... soon...and then it's off to my growing pile of electronic recycling. Bah, humbug.
I will say that the mouse and keyboard work well and feel sturdy enough, especially for the price
April 25, 2017
It was hard to finalize a rating for this product for a number of reasons, because for some people it might be worth 5 stars, but I'll briefly explain why it's only worth 2 to me.First, I will say that the mouse and keyboard work well and feel sturdy enough, especially for the price. My main two issues though can be summed up by the fact that the product listing is misleading and in fact incorrect.Issue 1 - The mouse is better suited for travel and is definitely not full size. This was never mentioned in the listing and might steer people elsewhere for this type of purchase, especially when buyers are specifically looking for full sized 9 key keyboards as a pairing.Issue 2 - The main reason I settled on this combo unit is because it was represented as containing a Logitech Unifying Receiver, which it clearly does not. This is a deal breaker for me and will cause me to return this product.
Poor connection, keyboard freezes and keys stop working.
February 3, 2015
My wife purchased the Logitech Wireless Combo Mk520 With Keyboard and Mouse for her home office, and loves it. I needed a keyboard/mouse combo for work, so I purchased the MK270, a cheaper version. Well, it is definitely cheap. The keyboard has frozen mid-typing, the backspace, delete, and arrow keys have a tendency to stop working as well. I changed the batteries and even relocated the PC tower so that the USB transmitter is in line-of-sight with the keyboard - still having issues. It's cheap, only $20, but I am considering returning it.
Keyboard to Computer Delay
August 4, 2014
Updated Review (8/18/2014) - I cannot stand the delay from the keyboard to computer. I have officially snapped and will not be using or recommending this product due to the delay. I keep my keyboard off when I'm not using it (when the computer is off and I'm not at my desk) but when I don't type on it for a minute and go to type, I expect it to type, not delay 20 seconds and still not use all the letters I typed in. It might start working after 45 seconds of frustration and wearing patience.Original Post (8/4/2014) - 3 Stars: I absolutely hate the delay from the keyboard to the computer. Sometimes it's sporadic but can take up to 20 seconds before it catches up. I am considering going to a wired keyboard or trying a different one because of how frustrating this is. I've only been using the keyboard for about a week and a half.
Be aware - two different versions out there
March 28, 2014
I ordered it on 3/23 from Amazon and received a couple of days later. To my surprise, the box doesn't say "unifying receiver". Took the keyboard/mouse out - yes indeed the receiver only says "Nano Receiver", and it doesn't have the orange star unifying logo. I also installed Logitech Unifying software but this receiver is not recognized.UPC/Product ID all match. Appears Logitech changed the product. Amazon needs to change the product description. If you are looking for a unifying receiver to work with other logitech products, don't buy this.Update - Amazon sent me a replacement, and this time it comes with Unifying receiver. UPC and product ID printed on the boxes are identical, packagings are slightly different. One has "Unifying receiver" clearly printed on the box and feature list and the other one doesn't.http://www.amazon.com/gp/customer-media/product-gallery/B00BP5KOPA/ref=cm_cr_dp_cust_img_see_all_img0Keyboards and mice are also different. One set both have orange star unifying on the label and the other set don't. Product IDs are different too.

Works poorly with Mac
March 21, 2017
From day one there were some minor problems such as windows moving after unlocking my laptop and certain windows displayed with lowered resolution. After a couple of weeks when I unlocked my laptop one or two of my monitors would not trim on. I would have to unplug the dock and plug it back in to get them to work. Most recently I've started getting kicked out to the login screen. I've opened a case with support but I would rather just send it back at this point.
HDMI port fails working withing 6 months
January 26, 2017
I bought this item in on July 28th. Today, January 26th, the HDMI port is malfunctioning. I know the monitor is OK because it works well when connected to the HDMI port on my laptop with same HDMI cable.
Unusable video
August 7, 2016
I purchased this docking station in October 2015. It was working great. No issues with video, sound, or input devices. About a week ago I started noticing issues with video. Both video and mouse pointer would jerk every 2 seconds or so. Watching online video content from Netflix, Youtube and others has become annoying. I tried installing the latest DisplayLink drivers and Intel video drivers, but nothing seems to help. Bottom line, I'm unable to watch videos while docked. I tried with multiple computers with the same result. Now, waiting for response from Anker support.
PC turns on fine, but 2 monitors and mouse keyboard receiver don't...
June 4, 2016
Worked ok, then failed after 2 months. Unplugged from PC, re-plugged, nothing. Unplugged from wall, re-plugged, nothing. Killed power to everything- waited- plugged back in, nothing. PC turns on fine, but 2 monitors and mouse keyboard receiver have no connection to PC. Uninstalled DisplayLink drivers, rebooted, re-installed from drivers downloaded from Anker website for Windows 10 and it works. But for how long? Before buying, read the reviews on Anker's website. The USB connection failing is a common problem in many of these units. Also there is a bright blue LED on the front of the dock- it is always on, always bright, serves no purpose because there is no power switch and it doesn't switch on/off with the PC's power so it's just always on. I should have just installed a second video card in my desktop :-(Update 6/15/2016: Anker let me know that there is a known issue with wireless receivers and this device. So the USB ports die and you can't plug a wireless mouse into it. Also, the whole unit fails and forces a driver re-install. Garbage. Also, it died again. I don't feel like uninstalling and re-installing again, so it sits useless until I can afford something else.
Finicky docking station, unreliable performance after unplugging and reconnecting cables.
March 29, 2016
Based on the other reviews I used to evaluate this product, I suspect they either work perfectly well, or are a complete headache. No middle ground. Installed one for my wife's Lenovo Yoga Pro 2. Never got Anker's software to work with it, downloaded drivers directly from DisplayLink. The only way to get the laptop to recognize the device was to plug an HDMI cable into the dock, even if the display was connected via DVI. That took an hour to figure out. Recently unplugged the Cat5 cable from the wall, and the dock could not be recognized by the laptop, even after plugging the Cat5 cable back into the wall. Tried several restarts of both devices to no avail. Had to uninstall and reinstall the DisplayLink drivers twice to get the dock recognized again. After the first reinstall, the USB ports on the dock didn't work: no mouse, no keyboard. Hence the double reinstall. When it works, it's fine. If it doesn't work, good luck. Keep track of your return window with Amazon and Anker. I didn't, so we're stuck with it.
Product Failed / RMA Designed to Prevent Returns
October 20, 2015
Device failed to power on within 4 months of purchase. RMA process asininely complicated. Required fields for information not contained in product description and not relevant to product. For example, what does the "Mobile Operator" have to do with a laptop docking station? There is no mobile operator! Yet they make it a required field. Ordered Plugable UD-3900 USB 3.0 Universal Docking Station with Dual Video Outputs for Windows 10, 8.1, 7, & XP (HDMI and DVI / VGA, Gigabit Ethernet, Audio, 6 USB Ports, 20W Power Adapter) as replacement. No more Anker products.

Cheap piece of junk, mouse didn't work at setup, right-click doesn't work to copy and paste
June 12, 2017
This is a cheap piece of junk. The keyboard feels cheap, but that was not the issue. At installation, the mouse didn't work. After installing new batteries and other troubleshooting, I tried a different USB port and it finally connected. Should have worked in any of the ports. Biggest issue for me is the right click to copy and paste doesn't work MOST of the time - very frustrating. Mouse feels cheap too. Logged in to Amazon to return and see that I missed the return window by a few days. After reading reviews today, I see that there a lot of complaints that are very recent, like mine. Makes me think we all got counterfeit products. Irritated that I cannot return and get my money back.
11 months and 18 days of use and it stopped working
June 2, 2017
Simply disappointing: 11 months and 18 days of use and it simply stopped working. From good to dead and no; it is not the batteries.
Only worked for a few months
April 30, 2017
Oh the irony... here I am, trying to write this review of this product, while using this product and the keyboard stalls (as usual) and my words come out as a jumbled mess. I really wanted to like this keyboard/mouse combo, given the glowing reviews left by other customers. I bought it and it worked well for about three months, and then totally stopped working. OK, so maybe I got a lemon. I contacted customer service and they sent me a new one, no problem. Well, it's been one month and the new one is only working intermittently. Bummer. The words I type in don't appear for 10 seconds sometimes. When I move the mouse, it jumps and jerks around the screen, and it's hard to select what I want to click on. So while the keyboard and mouse both look and feel nice, they really don't work very well. You know what they say -- you get what you pay for! Wish I had spent my money on something more reliable/higher quality.
Keyboard cuts out- Poor Quality
April 11, 2017
Terrible. The mouse works fine, but the keyboard cuts out often. I'll be typing and suddenly, nothing's happening. Its not the computer as the mouse and applications continue to work. I use it daily and without fail, it stops working multiple times each day, sometimes for a few minutes at a time. It is incredibly frustrating, so much so that I dug my old wired keyboard out of the donate pile and am using that instead. Does not work consistently.
Don't buy.
March 15, 2017
The mouse has NEVER worked. I have contacted them numerous times, they give pages of instructions as if I have not already unplug, tried in new USBs, changed to new batteries, worked a couple days to get the keyboard before getting it to work. Weeks later and they still won't ship me a new one. I've worked with computer since 1976 probably longer than they have been alive. SAVE YOUR MONEY!, DON'T BUY
Mouse turns off at random
November 8, 2016
I am extremely disappointed. This is the first Logitech product I've used that I have not been satisfied with. I own a Logitech webcam, wireless keyboard/trackpad, speakers, and prior to purchasing this set, I had a wired Logitech keyboard and another wireless Logitech mouse. I purchased this set as a Gold Box deal to replace those (the tabs on the wired keyboard had broken off over the years, and the wireless mouse's dongle no longer worked).Initially, this set worked great. However, about a month ago, the following occurred:The mouse, even with a brand new Duracell Quantum battery in it (chosen as the Sweethome's #1 disposable battery) will occasionally turn off. The only way to make it function again is either A. take the battery out of of, put it back in; B. turn the mouse off and on again; or C, unplug the dongle and plug it back it. This is very frustrating, as this can happen several times across the span of a few minutes. It is too late to try to return this product, but I'm going to look into a refund and purchase a different Logitech keyboard/mouse combo. To reiterate, Logitech makes wonderful, high quality products. I believe I either got a defect, or this product altogether is not up to par.
