Amazing deal
December 26, 2016
We bought the 40" Model last year for my son to use with a new XBox One since he wanted 1080p. At first I thought the picture was very pixelated but turned down the sharpening and it cleared right up (just turn it down to zero) We had a plasma in the living room so I never really thought much about this budget television. Recently we had to replace the plasma and picked up a very highly rated Samsung KS8000 4K UHD model. Yes, it does 4K, Sure, it's got a lot of great smart features. But this TCL handles angle viewing BETTER, handles cable broadcast motion MUCH BETTER and sounds almost as good as the bells an whistles beast we paid close to 4 times the amount for. It doesn't have all the adjustments as the Samsung, can't do smart functions or UHD etc, but as a pure method of watching cable or basic gaming I would say it is superior. I don't see judder, the image colors remain reasonably consistent looking at angles. We literally unpacked this thing, plugged it in and took half a day to adjust it and were happy. the high dollar screen in the other room is a constant headache. 5 stars, not because it does it ALL, but 5 stars because it does what it's meant to do as well as anything at a fraction of the cost.
Great Bargain Nice TV
June 21, 2016
Love it. Didn't need or want a Smart 4KTV. This is perfect. I bought the 48". Light and thin, fairly easy one man job to mount on the wall. Good picture, good sound. (Disclaimer - I'm not a Megan Kelly fan, it was the first decent quality channel for an image I came across).I have AT&T U-Verse as my provider and code 1000 worked to mate the TV with the U-Verse remote.
TLC ROKU TV -- Good Solid Value with Superior A/V Connections
December 5, 2015
I recently bought a Samsung Smart TV J5205. I was disappointed in the Samsung's woefully limited number of Internet TV channels. So, I looked at the TLC TV with internal ROKU. But the WiFi capability of the TLC Roku TVs is relatively weak. So, I opted for this 'dumb' TLC TV paired with a new ROKU 4 (which has state-of-the-art dual-band WiFi technology). It was a perfect solution for an Internet TV.PROS:1. Picture-quality is good. Audio from TV speakers is loud and perfectly fine for TV shows and movies.2. The TLC brand works like a dream with ROKU devices, especially the new Roku 4.3. THIS TV HAS A HEADPHONE JACK...which means you can EASILY connect old 'analog' speakers to this TV...AND the TLC remote control still controls the volume. New Samsung TVs only have a plug for digital audio output--that severely limits what speakers you can connect! My old Pioneer speakers sound great connected to a TV via the TV's headphone jack or RCA component audio output. SO, a digital audio connection pretty much kills using Oldie Goldie speakers. BUT THIS TLC TV OFFERS EASY, EFFECTIVE CONNECTIONS TO OLDER SPEAKERS...which is why I gave it 5-Stars.4. $260 for a very decent 40-inch TV is a great value.CONS:1. Admittedly, a Samsung TV has a better picture.2. Audio from TV speakers is not meant for playing music..though sounds OK...but not great by far.VERDICT:If you want a bleeding-edge ROKU TV, this TLC TV is 1/2 of the equation. If you pair this TLC TV with a new Roku 4 device, you will end up with a kick-azz, smoking-fast Roku TV system. PLUS, the Deal-Maker is this TV's Heaphone Jack that allows connecting Oldie-Goldie Speakers for a totally awesome sound experience to boot.

GREAT TV on a budget!
August 31, 2015
I was lucky enough to get this bad boy during the prime day sale. For how cheap this TV is, I am extremely happy with how it performs. The speakers are nice and the screen is crisp. The TV has 3 HDMI ports on the side for easy access. I am very happy with this purchase.
New To TCL Electronics
July 16, 2015
The hardest part was attaching the legs to the TV and from there everything else was a breeze. Set up is pretty much self explanatory and you have a minimal amount of selections to make and the TV does the rest to set itself up. The color is very good, especially on HD channels and the sound is crisp.I started to get a known name brand unit for about $80 more, but I am glad I took a chance on this model/

Great deal for high quality
September 21, 2017
This wall mount is high quality and very versatile. The basic arms of the mount fit perfectly to our 42" TV, so I would have to assume if you had a larger television the extending arms would just as well. The directions included were easy to follow and all hardware was nicely labeled and included.*Please remember that knowing where your wall studs are or using drywall anchors ensure that the mount is secure.*The mount does offer extension from the wall and the TV moves very easily. My only complaint would be that to angle the TV you must hand adjust and then lock into place making angling the television not always an easy task, but this does ensure more security for your telvision. We also appreciated the level and the HDMI cord that was included with the price. Overall an amazing deal for a quality product that cost upwards of $100 or more in stores.Would definitely buy again and recommend to family and friends.
Drill 3/16" Pilot Hole, Not 7/32" - Otherwise Easy to Install and STRONG!
June 9, 2016
I used to install TVs for people professionally, so I have used many different mounting systems. I was looking for something cheap, but reliable to hang a 50" LG 50LA6200 LCD TV. I looked at a lot of options both on Amazon as well as elsewhere before settling in this one. I am happy that I did!For starters, this comes with EVERYTHING that you could possible need to hang your TV, with the exception of a #2 phillips head screwdriver and a drill. Included are a complete assortment of screws, bolts and washers (all neatly organized and labeled in individual packets), a double-sided spanner wrench, a very nice magnetic level, and even a 10' HDMI cable. The instructions say to use the "optional" expansion kit for larger TVs. Usually, this is code for "kit not included." I was pleasantly surprised to find that that was not the case here. For once, the "optional" kit was actually included!Installation was a breeze for me, even without instructions since I already know how this works, but I found the instructions relatively easy to follow for those who need them. All of the various configurations for the expansion arms can get confusing, but just try each one until you find the right setup for your TV.** PLEASE NOTE **There is one change to the instructions that I highly suggest, however. The instructions say to drill a 7/32" pilot hole into the stud for each mounting bolt. Then screw the bolt in with a phillips head screwdriver. When I first mounted this (I wound up moving it shortly thereafter), I followed the suggestions for the pilot hole. Sure enough the screw did thread in easily... a little TOO easily. The second hole from the top actually stripped out and I was not putting much force behind the screwdriver at all! When I moved this to the other side of the room, I decided to go with a smaller pilot bit. I used a 3/16" bit instead. Granted, you are not going to thread the bolt in with a screwdriver - you will need a 10mm socket - but doing it this way, those bolts are not going anywhere! You could probably get away with a 13/64" bit, but to really protect your expensive TV, I would want all of the bite I could get!I also found that the inside diameter of one of the washers was a smidge too small for the bolt to go through. I just enlarged it with a round needle file, but since they don't include any spares, if you don't have a file or another washer laying around, you'll need to get one. Just thought I'd throw that out there in the interest of full disclosure.Once this was installed, I was impressed with not only the sturdiness, but also with the complete range of motion. This is fully articulated. You can put your TV pretty much anywhere you want to. The only thing it can't do is move your TV up or down, although you can tilt it to a certain degree.
This TV mount is beyond my expectations. Very well built.
March 14, 2016
So I was very skeptical of this product when I first looked at it, lots of people saying it would tear out of the wall shortly after installation and all that. Lemme tell you, they just did it wrong or like complete idiots; you do no use dry-wall mounts for a heavy TV, possibly a lighter TV, and I can not stress the word "Light" enough. No one should be using dry-wall mounts in the first place, they are not reliable... plain and simple.Anyways, back to my experience with the product. I have it mounted above my Xbox One about 4 feet off the ground. I mounted to a stud in the wall and right after that, my roommate who weighs around 150 LBS hung off of it for about 5 seconds at the base and it didn't even budge; now that's a tough wall mount if I ever saw one! I put my 40" Samsung TV on the mount, and I can extend/swivel/angle/tilt it however I want. The gear it comes with is pretty high quality and especially the level. For an add on to the product the level is pretty decent for it's designed purpose. The packaging is well done and the parts are all labeled well and accordingly. Make sure you use washers on the outside of the mount before you put the TV adapter on your TV, they will save you a lot of grief.I've had this wall mount for a month so I felt pretty confident in writing a review. I'll add some pictures to let you know the range of motion as well as how the TV looks how I attached the adapter and the part where it's mounted to the wall. I can sit specifically off to the side and enjoy the TV along, I can turn it to look at my PC area so I can play while I talk to friends on Skype or other chat programs and I can turn it to look at my bed and I can enjoy Neflix or Hulu as I lay in bed, nice and cozy.I hope you all enjoyed my review, it's been a blast and I'll be willing to answer any questions you might have.
Works great with beefier support to the wall
January 31, 2016
Based upon some of the reviews, I mounted support brackets between two studs and using a heavy duty toggle bolts, mounted the wall mount. It went up in about 90 minutes and is solid! Used heavy duty screws to assure it will not fall from the wall.Kit includes level and cable as stated and is great! Articulates out and nice adjustment of the angle. TV looks great!
Great quality mount
March 2, 2015
8/28/2017 UPDATE: The review and the pictures below are accurate for the TV mount I purchased on 01/26/2015. From the comments I am getting for the past 6 months, it seems that the seller might have changed the product since, and my review and pictures might not match the current product. That is not under my control, seller should have created a new listing for the new product but chose instead to use the same listing because of the 19000+ reviews posted. So please don't blame it on me, I'm just a customer that wrote a review to the product I received back in 2015.Original review written on 03/02/2015:Bought it to mount 3 LED TVs (2x65", 1x50") in an office, chose this model mostly because of the lockable feature. I didn't use the included lag bolts because of the poor quality complaints in previous reviews. I didn't want to take the chance to strip the included bolts so I bought 5/16-9 2-1/2 lag bolts from Lowes (item 63396) and a box of 1/4" Toggler bolts (Lowes item 118084). On one of the 65" TVs and the 50" TV, the 2x4 studs were spaced perfectly and I was able to mount them using 4 lag bolts each. On the other 65" TV, the stud was about 2" off center so I put 2 lag bolts in the stud and 4 toggler bolts in the left and right most holes. I put my entire weight (200 lbs) on each mount half way extended and they held up just fine. Here are the pros and cons:Pros:1. Good quality mount2. Ability to adjust the horizontal leveling (plus/minus 6 deg)3. Lockable mount with 5 mm holes. Most pad locks you can find in stores have 6 mm shackle diameter, but I found the Master Lock 131Q has 5 mm locks and it fit just right.4. 10 ft HDMI cable included5. Long arms give you the option of moving the TV in almost any position.Cons:1. There is nothing to stop the TV from sliding from one way to the other on the two horizontal bars. That would screw up the horizontal alignment every time the TV is moved. Not sure how they didn't think about this. I used some black duct tape to prevent that. I could have drilled holes in the horizontal bars and put some screws in but duck tape was faster.2. I wish I could have been able to use zip ties to route the cable on the wall side from the lower side to the upper side or the mount, but there are no holes to get the zip ties in.Very happy with the purchase overall, would buy again in a heartbeat. You can see how it looks with a 65" TV attached in the pictures below.[...].
Great Mount for a 60" TV
May 1, 2012
I mounted a 60" Sharp LED TV to this mount with no problems. I recieved it sooner than expected & it was 98% assembled out of the box. I followed the directions, took the time to do it right & it took about 20 minutes.I always read the negative reviews first & I am baffled as to how people can have problems with this product. This mount is well made & I would recommend it to anyone that is concerned over the reviews stating it sags. The mount can be easily installed by one person as I did below: You may need help to hang your tv on it once it is installed. I am laying this out because of the problems I read about in the other reviews.1. Figure out where your studs are & drive a pin or finish nail on each side of it to be certain where the centers are. Make these small holes about 1/4" above where your mount holes will be drilled. These small holes will be covered by your mount.2. Drill your first pilot hole into the center of the stud & run the first lag bolt & washer through the mount & get it near snug.3. Extend the bracket so you can lean against it.4. While leaning against the mount in a eyed up level position, lay your level on top of the wall bracket & get it level.5. Pull your pencil from behind your ear & mark the second hole which is on the opposite side of your first hole.6. Let it back down & drill the second hole in the center of the stud.7. Move the mount back to the level position & install the lag bolt & washer.8. Tighten the two lag bolts so they are just about crushing the mount into the wall.8. You can now drill your bottom holes & install the lag bolts & washers. Make sure you are in the center of the studs.10. Tighten & retighten all four lag bolts. If these are not tight, you will have problems with the TV sagging when the mount is extended. It is critical that the four lag bolt are tight against the mount. If you skip using the washers, you reduce the strength & stiffness of your mount.Any fine tuning needed can be done on the 3 bolt swivel plate after the TV is on the mount. The mounting bracket has holes so you can install mud rings & plates for your wiring. I will be installing a recessed power outlet on one side & a brush cover faceplate on the other for the signal cables on the other. The mounting bracket has wire chases so everything is neat & held to avoid crushing cables. The only thing I will do to modify the mount is to drill a small hole in the upper portion of each pivot point to allow me to easily give each pivot a shot of WD-40 once in awhile. This should keep it operating smoothly & keep things from getting tweaked if it gets a little sticky from dust & oxidation.

this is a great deal on a 48" LED
January 7, 2017
Purchased in early 2017, this is a great deal on a 48" LED. For those who care about such things (or like me only care about when researching TV's), this TV has full Overscan control; i.e. you can disable it. It also is one of the few TV's still available that has Component hookup (even TCL's 2016 Roku replacement for this set ditches it).The only thing keeping it from having five stars is that Color Saturation and Tint settings are greyed out on HDMI inputs. This is a long-standing problem in TCL and Insignia TV's that people complained about in 2012; it is due to the TV being confused by legacy RGB signals being sent by game consoles, etc through HDMI. They evidently still have not discovered a solution, meaning that the picture is slightly over-saturated and reds looks slightly pink, with no way to compensate. Otherwise many settings to tweak.
Spoke too soon, but they resolved the issue
July 16, 2016
** UPDATED from 2 to 4 Stars **My original review is below, and I have the same impressions after a few months as I did up front. I was disappointed by the quality with the first one I was sent, but I must have gotten a lemon. I had a pretty hassle free exchange from Amazon and have been using the TV ever since. The sound is probably the worst part of it, but again, this is a good price for a larger TV. I've had no new issues so far with the replacement, it's been holding up nicely. I've been using it for TV, Movies, and Video Games.==========I had this TV all of one night and now and the screen has these green pixelish color. I thought at first I had a bad connection to my cable box, but then tried to watch a movie from my game console and it's the same thing. Not sure what happened from last night.I bought this on prime day for a discounted price. The TV and box is very light weight. When I picked up the box it flew up because I was expecting it to be heavier. What comes in it?: TV, power cord, a remote (with batteries), 2 leg stands (one for each side) and screws, a quick start guide, and a manual. It took all of 10 minutes to get it unboxed and hooked up. You'll only need a philips-head screwdriver if you plan on putting the leg stands on.Inputs: TV, Component (GBR,WR), AV (YWR), 3 HDMI ports, 1 USB, and 1 VGA.The USB is right above the HDMI, so it's nicely placed for HDMI accessories that are powered by USB.The picture is very nice. The HD looks crisp. The sound is not very good. I'm not a huge audio person either. It was noticeably bad when I turned on the TV. I have a 9 year old TV that sound a lot better than this TV. The sound is going through the HDMI input. There are some features to note such aseco modesmart sounddynamic backlight
Great Picture.
June 14, 2016
The TCL 48FD2700 is not the slimmest TV nor is it the sharpest and no it is not a smart TV. What it is however is a great TV for those like me who don't need the best TV or the most expansive. I paid $319 for a 48" TV, that's a pretty good deal. The TV is pretty crisp as long as your not watching super action packed movie scenes then it does tend to get a bit choppy. The TV came well packaged and was not damaged in anyway. The remote is simple and easy to use and setup was a breeze. Overall I am very happy with my purchase and I would recommend to anyone looking for a basic TV at a good price.
Solid TV
December 20, 2015
For $159, this TV is perfect. Needed something for my guest bedroom, but didn't need all of the bells and whistles. This is just the product. The picture is clear, and it's super lightweight, making it easy to move around. The bezel around the screen is extremely thin, which makes the TV look pretty sleek. The only complaint I have is the sound is very tinny. While it doesn't have the look of a cheap TV, it definitely has the sound of one.Overall, this is a great TV for the price, and I would definitely recommend for anyone who needs a basic, no frills TV.
Recommended for low-budget-buyers
November 8, 2015
The picture I'm sure is not 100% 1080p, but it's pretty darn close. You can tell when watching a sporting event or watching the news. Gaming is great with it, though! Definitely use an HDMI cord from your cable box and gaming system for best visuals. One thing I have to point out, which is why I didn't give it 5/5 stars, is that you can hear the LED lights hissing behind the TV. As soon as you turn on the TV you hear a faint hiss. It scared me when I first heard it, but with some research online it is known that that's okay. I could just be over-cautious.Recommended for low-budget-buyers like myself. This was the first TV I bought for myself. I would say this is a good company to buy from based on my experience. Cannot garuntee you'll have the same results.
REALLY great budget tv choice
September 12, 2015
I'm super pleased with this tv!I got this on sale from Amazon and was unsure how the quality would be.I did expect it to be larger vertically, but at least it is a lot bigger horizontally than the 32 inch we had before this one.I am impressed with the resolution and clarity, since this is a brand I haven't heard of. Visually very impressive, good clean resolution. The menu on the tv is easy as pie to navigate, with a nice sized remote with a clean simple layout. The sound quality is just so-so, but I did expect that with a lower price range tv, so I was not surprised. It has all the slots you would generally expect on a basic LED tv, and fits all our family needs just right.Easy to set up on the stand also!Overall great tv, and I would definitely buy another one in the future!

Secure Wall Mount... Some Difficulties with a Larger TV
October 9, 2017
Seems to be a very strong wall mount, which is excellent and what you would buy this for. However, I found it extremely complicated to get the TV into a position I liked, as moving it around was not very cohesive. I finally have the TV (a 55" flat screen) where I want it and the anchors/wall mounts seem to be doing exactly what they need to. The thing could almost hold my full weight (170lbs) after being secured to a stud, which I guess, at the end of the day, is what you're buying this for. Also, getting the bracket to fit the back of my TV was a real son of a gun. I had to really jury-rig the additional pieces to get it. I feel PRETTY confident with what I was able to do, but rigging things together is always my last resort and leaves me feeling not 100% certain with the product's integrity. Will update if anything changes.
Really great deal for the price
September 26, 2017
I'm tempted to give this 5 stars, because it really is amazing for the price. I have a wall mount that cost me about 4X the cost that doesn't have the adjustability of this one. This also came with a lot of different hardware, a HDMI cable, and a level! I've already used the level to mount a new soundbar to the wall, and I used some of the different hardware (bolts) to mount another TV on a bracket that I hadn't kept the other sizes for.I'm only knocking off one star because there's some slop that allows the TV to rotate about 10 degrees clockwise or counter-clockwise, so I periodically have to level it out. But to get that kind of precision machining would probably at least double the price, and it's not like the thing is flimsy - the vertical bracket alone is really heavy duty.
then this is a good buy. The cons
June 22, 2017
I have two of these now, and they perform as expected, which is key here. If you are just looking at something affordable that will allow you to mount a monitor on the wall with only OCCASIONAL movement needed (such as connecting or disconnecting HDMI/Audio cables when necessary, then this is a good buy.The cons: the rotation on the monitor face (going from 0 on X axis to anything more) feels to be about 10,degrees of rotation, so i believe its really only there to provide adjustment for sloppy mounting to the wall, or something. The arms that extend from the mountpoint on the wall, to the monitor, are VERY tight.Take care when man-handling your monitor when you need to extend the monitor from the wall, you might break the monitor from the mount points in the back of it. it hasnt happened to me, but it might. Lastly, the bolts that come with this are very easily stripped when attempting to drill this into the wall BE CAREFUL. That is, unless you never want to remove it from the wall. in that case, be my guest.Moral of the story is, that i'm relatively satisfied, but i dont think ill ever have to rebuy this, since i have 2 now. Whenever i decide an upgrade is needed, it will be to accommodate movement on the Y axis, for increased viewing flexibility, some thing like this i found on a very quick on basic search: https://www.amazon.com/North-Bayou-Motion-Computer-Monitors/dp/B01AI2YGK4/ref=zg_bs_10967501_6?_encoding=UTF8&psc=1&refRID=P3T4VCDYW7SYCTV0FPM1
Good product for a reasonable price.
June 21, 2017
Seems solid enough for my older model Vizio, which is pretty heavy. The installation is easy, attaching to the wall us simple enough, they even give you a little level (which is a pretty handy size for other stuff). It is required that the unit be mounted to a stud, which I would do anyway on something this heavy. Attaching the arms to the back of the set is an exercise in trial and error but I got it after a couple of tries. Hoisting the set onto the wall unit is fairly easy using the guide tab on the mounting bracket. I did it alone, but would be better as a two man job, There is lots of left over nuts and screws which would be used in other installations.
A few issues, but good in the end
April 22, 2017
We have a 40 inch Roku TV and this was bought to go with it. The instructions are easy to follow and it wasn't difficult to mount on the wall after finding the stud, except for the fact that the screws that came with it break easily and we had to find replacements. Once it was up on the wall, it was easy from there. There is a lip that the television sits on that is easy to click into place and then two screws that hod it in. It has a tilt function and the arm is nice and long so it can me moved around wherever you need it to be. It kinda reminds me of the ones you see at hospitals, where you can swing it out over a bed or other piece of furniture.Overall, this was an easy installation and a good choice.
Its OK, does what it should.
March 8, 2017
Arrived on time and undamaged.Does the job, nice motion range. If it had included a little stud finder instead of a level and little sturdier mounting screws it would've warranted a 5 star. But, I am completely satisfied with it. Took me less than 45 min to install (would've been faster with the level/stud finder switch) Just wish they had used hardened screws for the actual mounting screws. Once they were close to being seated in the wall they began to strip out. If I ever need to move the thing, I will have to replace those cheap self-tapping screws. Other than those couple small things it is a pretty solid mount.

presents red ghost light
November 7, 2016
Good TV on the price, has all kinds of connections, and elegant design, unique problem encountered it is that sometimes scenes presents a red ghost light, sometimes impeceptible, but other uncomfortable
Affordable but has some limits (depending on your connection)
September 19, 2016
Certainly there are pro's and con's . The set does provide 1080i/p but there is no "smart TV" features and adjustments as well as built in tuner for OTA or over the air signals are only as good as the manufacturer providing vs. what other manufacturers install to bring in signals from further away. If you are buying this HDTV and have cable then this will be a great TV.
It'll do.

TL;DR, it's okay but not great. For the price, I don't think I could've done better, not in this size. The set is lightweight, has a buttload of HDMI ports, works like a charm. I can run my WiiU and my X1 box and my Fire TV and my Chromecast in 1080p at 60hz. My main gripe with the set is the color balance. Via HDMI, I don't have access to the Hue slider, so the colors are off. I spent a week messing with this thing to do whatever I could to reconcile the color but it's still just not...quite there. It's most obvious just how off it is when I'm playing something on the WiiU. Using the gamepad screen as the baseline, I can see that the greens are just too, too bright, and my attempts to ease the greens have thrown everything else off just slightly.Does this interfere with my normal use of the set? Absolutely not.Can I play very colorful games without significant distortion? Yeah, but only after messing with it for a long time.Did the colors settle in a bit better after letting the set run for lengths of time after I bought it? No, not in the least.Do I consider TCL a poor brand based on this? Hell no, not at all. I'd buy another TCL product, but I'd spend a bit more for something a bit higher quality.
Only Okay
August 29, 2016
I received two broken units from UPS before finally getting one from FedEx that was in good order. That was frustrating but I really had no problems returning them- Amazon handles everything. I paid about $135 for this TV during prime week. It is okay but I'd never pay full price for it. My biggest complaint is that when paused a whining noise that sounds like the wind whistling can be heard. It's significant enough to be heard through out the house if it's quiet. I do not plan to buy another TCL in the future.
TCL TV
July 15, 2016
Got this TV for an amazing price on Prime Day 2016. Packaging was fine and it arrived intact, which I was nervous about. Set up was simple, but keep in mind if you are not mounting this TV, it is a fairly wide base for a stand. Picture quality is subpar for a 2015 model LED TV. It is very pixely and not very high res for 1080p HD. It serves its purpose for a spare room/kids TV but would not recommend this TV for a main TV unless you are on a budget (again you can't beat the price even its full MSRP)The most annoying thing with this TV is according to the manual, the TV doesn't fully power down - it goes into a standby mode (TCL claims this speeds up startup which still takes 10-15 seconds). So the TV is still using power after you turn it off. Also when the TV is off, there is a very blinding white standby light. Not sure why they thought this was a good idea as it is very bright and distracting when trying to sleep. The light goes away when the TV is on so again - not a great development idea. For the price paid these small issues are small potatoes, but keep in mind if paying MSRP, I would spring a few more bucks for a better brand name TV. It would be much worth it in the long run.
Great for the price, not as a menu board
June 13, 2016
I bought these to use as digital menu boards in a small business. I uploaded high quality HD jpegs via a USB drive. I don't know if the TV compresses it or something but the images are very pixelated and the color is super off. They would probably work better as TVs and you can't complain about the price!

Great mount, completely eclipsed by P.O.S. screws that make this worthless without extra work on your part.
November 9, 2017
The mounting screws that come with this strip like they're made of soft plastic. There is a RIDICULOUS number of reviews here, even 4 and 5 stars, talking about how crappy the screws are, that my girlfriend did not notice when she bought this. Glad I checked and saw the countless other people having issues stripping the screws VideoSecu cheaped out on, cuz for a second I thought I lost my manly touch with power tools. -_-But seriously, if you plan on mounting a possibly very expensive TV with this, I HIGHLY recommend you buy better screws on your own, because the ones VideoSecu provides are not worthy of the rest of the mount, which is very well built and sturdy. I honestly couldn't care less how well it's built though, because it doesn't matter if the practically most important part of the device are junky. My fix:Instead of buying better screws that VideoSecu should have provided based on the numerous issues they are causing for tons of people, just switch over to a socket wrench or use a bit socket that wraps the whole screw head. Come to think of it, it's almost like these were meant to be socketed in, and like the phillips screw head was added to a hex head screw or something crazy like that. Anyways socket wrench em in. I recommend against changing your pilot hole size as some others have suggested. That is usually a bad idea (unless you're going very slightly smaller to make it a tighter grip). Good luck.
great two less screws to drill on my wall
October 11, 2017
I've had my fair share of TV wall mounts but this is my first where the support bracket is only on one side. My initial thought was, great two less screws to drill on my wall. Unfortunately, after installing this and mounting my 55" LG LED TV the top screw gave and away goes the TV on my head. Fortunately the bottom screw was still holding on fairly well. After that scare I used a thicker screw for the top part of the mount, used the supplied screws for second reinforcement on the top and at last the bottom.Now....the waiting game starts, it's been up for 30 minutes so I guess so far so good.I would give this 4 stars but the mount seems a bit flimsy. But, I guess for the price you cant be too picky, or nitpicky like they call me at work.
Great job, but the 2 mounting issues kept me from giving this 5 stars
June 5, 2017
Works great after a month, although I can't give it 5 stars because I had to mount it to a board due to the fact that the distance between studs didn't match up with the mount, also, I wanted to mount the tv low, but was unable to because the holes on the mount wouldn't line up. HOW DOES THAT HAPPEN? so I had to mount the tv higher than i wanted. Instructions were easy to follow and mounting was simple.
Complete
May 8, 2017
The product is what it says it is. A small TV or Monitor mount. nothing special. I do have some concerns with the fact it only mounts at one point to one stud, but they do make bigger mounts and that may be what you need if this doesn't work for you. I also liked it came with the HDMI cord and a level. The product worked for me on three different TV's in three rooms and one room even being above the fireplace in brick. There is more than enough screws and hardware included with the exception of washers. for some reason each package only contained enough washer for three of the four TV screws on the back. other than that, works good.
Does the job, sturdy, good price
March 9, 2017
I couldn't find the plate mounts I've used several of over the years, so I tried this one for a Hitachi 43" TV (43R5). The instructions are vague and you'd think it would be easy to figure out on your own. After a lot of trial and error I finally got it to fit, somewhat. The main problem was on the Hitachi, the bottom mounting holes are low on the TV causing the brackets to slightly extend down below the TV. If the TV was mounted low, it wouldn't be a problem, but mounted high on the wall like mine, the brackets show. It may not be a problem on other TV's, but I wouldn't recommend this for a Hitachi 43R5 if mounted high.
It works fine, but would not buy again.
March 3, 2017
It works. Holds my 50" Plasma (55 lbs) just fine. I attached it to a beam, not a stud.PROS:Comes with plenty of hardware and an HDMI cable.Price (I paid ~$25.)After finding the stud, mounting the TV is pretty simple.CONS:You're hosed if a stud isn't in the spot you need it to be.The mounting bracket isn't in the center of the TV, so you have to offset the mount by about 3 inches. Not indicated in the directions.I would not buy this model again because of the limited mounting options. I'd buy one with upper and lower mounting rails that span 2 studs for more easy centering.

Short lifespan and nearly non-existent customer support
July 20, 2017
When this TV is working, the picture is quite nice and there are a good number of inputs for a TV in this price range. However, right at the one year mark my TV has started showing bizarre red swirl marks on every channel and on every input. I was notified by the tech support on the phone to send in an email with pictures of the problem. I have done that...three times. As of yet I have not heard back from anybody. It's been a week.I will give the telephone support people high marks for talking me through a different issue I had with this model.Attached is an image that shows the artifacts I am experiencing. Poor George Costanza has enough to worry about![Update] I never did hear back from TCL, therefore I had to make an attempt to resolve my issue myself. After disassembling the TV and checking for loose connections, my picture is back to normal and I can once again enjoy this TV without artifacts all over the screen. I don't think the typical owner would expect to disassemble a one-year-old piece of electronics to tighten internal components.
Very cheap, lots of downsides, but its cheap, so might be worth it.
February 12, 2017
Horrible. But dirt cheap, so decide for yourself. Two major issues: 1) it makes a background squeal. So bad I called tech support. They gave me a new one, free of charge, and let me keep the original. Now I have 2 40" monitors with a bad squeal. Obviously a mfg issue. So bad that I can't use monitor in bedroom - high pitched keeps me awake.2) The "standby" light on the front of it - blinding white light. Can not be disabled. It's "on" when the monitor is "off" - so if you think you could deal with the squeal in the bedroom, how about also the bright light when the tv is off in the middle of the night?Oh, black levels kinda bad. I see pixelation ive never seen before (DirecTV HD DVR) on other sets. But again, dirt cheap and if you just want a dirty little gaming monitor and dont care much, it's a nice little monitor to have. just know what you're getting, that's all.
False economy. Terrible picture and sound.
November 23, 2016
Terrible quality picture and sound. HD video is pixelated, overly sharp in some parts and then most text is blurry as well. Lots of visual noise. Our 6 year old TCL 720 LCD has better quality picture than this. Sound is also terrible, I'll have to buy external speakers or something because everything sounds awful. Again our older 32in has much better sound, I have no idea how this is possible. I wish I had spent the extra couple hundred on a nicer TV. I don't know if I can recommend TCL ever again.I've only bought two TVs in my life, both TCLs, I'm very frugal about TVs but in this case it was false economy. I thought I was getting a deal but it's clear the cost was much too high. If you're not picky or this is going in your playroom then you're in luck because this is the perfect kind of cheap TV to put somewhere you won't have to look at it. I'm going to have to either return this or save up and buy a better one in person.
High-pitch noise from power supply (2016 models only)
July 16, 2016
Got for a low price on Prime Day, but immediately noticed that the power-supply emits an unbearable high pitch whining noise. Plastic legs are flimsy (I'd say they're designed to be thrown away so the TV can be wall mounted, but the power-supply connector comes straight our of the back of the set, limiting wall-mounting options -- I'd need to cut a hole in the drywall for the power cord since I have a 1"-thick wall mount). Exchanged the set due to the annoying power-supply squealing sound (it also causes our pets to run and hide under the bed).UPDATE: Contacted TCL tech support and they confirmed it was a defect. Amazon sent four replacements of the same model (exchanged one at a time), the first had a smashed screen (Thanks USPS), the second & third replacements had the same high-pitch squealing/wining sound. Now I guess I know why they were on sale on Prime Day.The fourth replacement was finally a winner, with no high-pitch squealing sound, and it actually had a 2015 production date as in the product description!! The other four had a 2016 production date, and had a while LED on the front (the 2015 version has a red LED).
and because it had fairly good reviews at a decent price
May 16, 2016
Well - I bought this TV primarily to be able to hook up my old XBOX 360 and PS2 consoles... and because it had fairly good reviews at a decent price. After mounting it to the wall and turning it on (it looked good initially) my son said to me - hey look - there's one bad pixel. Of course once you know it's there, you always look for it. Later that night I was sitting in another chair in our den, at a different angle, and noticed grey streaks starting at the top center of the screen, and going in arch-like patterns towards the bottom of the screen. Not happy. Also was not able to program the remote with my cable company's remote - and the remote that came with the TV would only turn the TV on/off and change the volume. It would not change the channels. What??? Talked to an Amazon rep who helped me set up a return. Having returned things before to Amazon without issue, I hope this transaction goes as smoothly. I do not recommend this TV.
Large gray discoloration on black screen
January 13, 2016
I had to return it. After reading all the reviews and doing some research, I was excited to open this and get it all set up. Unfortunately, mine came with a large oval shaped gray discoloration which seems permanent. It's mostly noticeable when the screen is all black, but it is always present and should not be. This happened new out of the box.I did have a pleasant experience with their support who had me go through some hidden menus to try to reset some things to no avail. The fact that I could get directly through to support, receive help and get a case number is why I gave it two stars instead of one. I do believe TCL is trying hard to increase market share, but they aren't going to do it with the lemon I received. Amazon is taking it back and refunding my money, so no issues there.

Extremely wobbley and difficult to center
September 22, 2017
Initially this mounting bracket seemed good. It felt sturdy, came with plenty of hardware, and it was relatively easy to attach our TV (which weighs just under 39 lbs, so well within the weight limit for the bracket). The directions that came with it are somewhat overwhelming. There are 3 individual pages, front & back, of directions. If they were attached in booklet form they'd be much easier to keep track of. We carefully measured the space where we wanted to mount our TV, found the center of the wall, and mounted the bracket. When we attached the TV to the bracket and folded it back towards the wall, the TV is off center by about 3". Also, even with everything tightened down, the TV is disturbingly wobbley on the backet. It's not the tilt that's wobbley, so not the "up/down" direction, it wobbles to the left/right at the part that connects to the TV. Our TV was sagging to the left pretty badly. We were able to level it out and it does hold level pretty well as long as you don't touch it.The wobbling killed my confidence in the bracket. I wanted to take the TV down within minutes of mounting it. We'll be replacing this bracket very soon.
Mount sucks
May 7, 2017
This mount takes 3 people to install your tvI have purchased a lot of mounts and hung tvs by my self but this one sucksI purchased because it had a good rating and thought I would give it a tryWent ahead and hung tv but will probably change out for a better mountDo your self a favor and buy a better mount
Better for small/light TVs, and maybe a corner display.
February 13, 2017
This did not work for my LG 42" flat panel. The braces could only be attached at the top because the lower ones covered both the AC plug in and all the inputs. The flange that attaches the mount to the wall needs to be much longer, IMO. I just don't believe it will hold to the wall reliably. Finally, when folded flat against the wall, the TV is about 3" left-of-center and the mounting design didn't allow any adjustment in that direction. I returned it for a standard wall mount with two rails.
Can't Center TV!
November 30, 2016
While this is a solid mount, there is no way to adjust the center of the TV once it's mounted. I attached the mount so it was centered over my fireplace, where I intentionally placed a stud while framing the wall. After mounting the TV, I pushed it back against the wall and it was 3 inches off center due to the configuration of the mount arms. It looks pretty bad with the TV being that far off. This seems like a pretty basic adjustment that all mounts should have, and it makes no mention in the description that it is lacking this feature. I'm returning this and getting a different mount that has the required adjustability.
If the base was level, the mount and TV were not
July 29, 2016
I got this mount because of the Prime Day price and the reviews. I removed my existing mount, which was perfectly level, and replaced it with this. When I installed it the base was perfectly level, but the end where you hang the TV was not at all. I had to loosen the bolts and adjust the mount every way I could to get the left side all the way up in hopes that the TV would end up level. It took a while and some frustration, but I got it as level as it can be. Now I'm hesitant to move the TV at all for fear of it shifting somehow and the left side dropping again.
Maybe They've Switched Models
January 30, 2013
Yes the mount is cheap and yes it holds up my TV and yes it was easy to put up, but that's where the compliments stop. The mount I received can never be level. When it's pushed in it leans one way and when I pull it out it leans the other way. There's no way to adjust that side-to-side tilt of your TV as the joint only adjusts up and down. I had to laugh with the level included b/c all it does is highlight how uneven the mount is. \Looking at the picture others have posted I see a nice cover for where the bolts go, more than two places to put the bolts in and silver metal on arm. The one I received is like the new stock photo. Completely square plate, no silver metal showing and only two places to attach bolts. While the metal is very heavy/sturdy, it feels like a cheap production and lacks attention to detail. I've given up on keeping the TV level and am just living with it for now. The arm is very stiff and difficult to pull in and out even with a 32" TV on it.I should have spent $10-20 more to get a quality mount, but this just seems to be one of those cases where the manufacturing got switched to some cheaper factory and the quality has gone down as a result. Keep shopping people.

Only purchase if buying from Amazon
September 7, 2016
I so wanted to like this TV. The first one we ordered came damaged but Amazon true to form had the damaged one picked up and a new set in our greedy little hands in under three days. But why the one star? Well, the set would turn on without any reason. It wasn't a problem with other remotes or neighbors remotes, for we live in the country. Had problems getting to customer service but when we did get them tech was nice and very helpful. He had me do a Hard Reset. It worked....until six hours later and it went back to turning on by itself. I really wanted this set but in the end it was too much of a hassle. I read many reviews and chose it for cost and star ratings. We must have gotten one of the few lemons. I would only recommend this set if you are buying from Amazon as they were great with return.
Got 2 broken TV's sent to my house.
August 26, 2016
I really am very annoyed as I ordered this televison twice and twice got broken screens?? At first I thought it must have been a fluke, then I read the reviews and realized it didn't happen to just me. TCL should really do something about its screen quality because I will always tell my friends to stay away from this brand. I honestly will just request a refund and take my business elsewhere as it is apparent that the TV screen is unable to sustain a delivery and probably wont last very long.
Incessant High Pitched Whistle
July 23, 2016
I purchased this set on Prime Day, for what I thought was a great deal. The first one I received had a hole smashed through the screen, something that probably happened on its journey to me. Amazon quickly sent a replacement set that looks great, but whenever the TV is on it emits a high pitched shrieking noise that is clearly audible during gaps/pauses/silences in the shows I'm watching. It sounds like a dog whistle and is really annoying and hard to ignore. This TV has proven to be a huge hassle and I would not recommend it.
Never even made it to the setup phase
July 15, 2016
As soon as it was plugged in, it started making a high pitched electrical whistle, like when a laptop charger craps out. It's a leaking capacitor. Can't comment on the picture since I just packed it up to go back to Amazon. We'll see if the replacement is any better.UPDATE: New TV came today. No high pitched wine. We'll see how long it lasts. Will update in a couple weeks.
give me the usual reset it to factory settings like it'll help which it didn't
January 29, 2016
It met my expectation of how big it would be and how well it would fit in my room, but what really bothers me is the constantly whistling noise it makes when it's on. I mean it's always making this noise when on, idle, and while i'm watching a show. Sometimes it's even louder than the show itself. I've contacted support a month ago and to this day they have not solved my issue. Either they never seem to care to try to help, give me the usual reset it to factory settings like it'll help which it didn't. Overall it was disappointing when I turned it on and ever since then I heard that whistling noise.

Design flaw, shop elsewhere.
September 16, 2017
Horrible bolt system. Save your time and money shop somewhere else. The bolts become captive when you insert them. Had a heck of a time getting them back out to adjust the mount. And it tore up the wall and took an extra 2hours to mount this thing. They need to rethink the design of the mounting system. I've hung several televisions and never have I dealt with such nonsense. Not to mention that they never tell you anything about it. Never again!
... this mount a few days ago and it looked great taking it out of the box
September 7, 2017
Received this mount a few days ago and it looked great taking it out of the box. However, the mounting plate is only 16" wide, so the lag bolts in the widest position would only be about 15-15.5" apart. It's not the end of the world, but the fact that the plate isn't designed to fit a standard stud width just frustrates me. I'm sending it back and buying something else

Not happy at all
December 1, 2016
Not happy at all. The cheap bolts that come with it two out of the 3 mounting bolts heads broke off. So had to go buy better screws. Then when I finally got the mount installed it was a pain to get the tv up there. To hard to do by your self like they said it is. Now two days later I noticed my tv was not str8. Yes the arm is already bent. This product is trash. Plus it was to hard to open and move. Do not buy this product
