This device while inexpensive seems to work well. So far haven't noticed a huge drop in fidelity compared to the iPad dock I was previously using. Also the remote does things like scroll up and down that the iPod remote couldn't do. For $19.95 you really can't go wrong.

I use this dock solely as the source for a in-house music system. The ipod plays albums in random order unattended 24x7. The dock keeps the ipod charged and the 3.5mm jack from the docking connector provides a direct stream without sonic modification. The volume of all the MP3s on the ipod were first adjusted with replaygain before being loaded as the ipod doesn't support replaygain tags.

Needed a dock for an old iPod that I wanted to use in my garage. The iPod battery is nearly done so I wanted to keep it plugged in all the time and this little guy allowed me to do that and have remote control functionality from across the room which is great. Hooked this thing up to an old boom box (yes...you heard me...a BOOM BOX) I had lying around and voila, instant garage sound very little extra money spent. Good stuff!

I needed a connection between my old iPod and newer iPod Touches and my old Pioneer receiver. The earphone jack was just not producing the music clearly. I did not want to replace the Pioneer because it had a nice graphic equalizer which is rarely found today. Well, this device simply works with the old iPod's 30 Pin slot. To make it work for the newer devices I had to buy an Apple 30 Pin to Lightning converting cable. Apple cables, as everyone knows, are expensive, with cable being almost as expensive as the Pyle PIDOCK.But the result is that my old iPod and my newer iPod Touches as well as my iPhnoe 5 all work beautifully with my receiver.

I am using this product for a very strange purpose.I work for a school district, and the high school wanted to be able to play music between class periods in an automated way.I looked around a lot, and couldn't find a product that would do this. But I discovered that it could be done with an Arduino.The Arduino setup worked, but it was hit and miss... sometimes the music wouldn't play, sometimes it wouldn't STOP playing. Sending commands to an iPod was just too much for the little Arduino to do.So I bought this product, and made some modifications. I attached a project box to the bottom of it and inside of that project box is an ATTINY with Arduino code on it that monitors the bell system. A wire runs up from this project box into the Pyle dock where an IR LED is wedged against the remote sensor. I used the Arduino's IR libraries to capture the needed commands from the included Pyle remote.When the bell goes off, the ATTINY waits 5 seconds then sends the command for PLAY. After 4 minutes, the ATTINY sends the command for PAUSE then NEXT to cue up the next song in the playlist.And it has been doing so flawlessly.It is a strange situation, but this product is doing what it needs to do... accepting commands from a remote (since the ATTINY is controlling it with IR) and making an iPod do stuff.The iPod I'm using is a 7th Gen iPod Classic.

After purchasing a new A/V Receiver, I found the need to utilize this docking station as a source of music from an ipod. This dock is relatively cost effecient compared to other docks. It works like a charm with a small remote to start music and turn on and off the ipod resting in the dock. Charges and maintains the power of the ipod battery and is inconspicuous sitting along side the receiver. Works well for me and is easy as pie to get up and going. I recommend this product.

Product works well as advertised. One issue is that you may have to remove your iPhone protective case/cover to secure a good connection to the iLuv dock. Not advisable is an extension connector, made available through aftermarket sources, that enables docking the iPhone with its case on. The extension piece is tall, rising your phone to a unsafe height which will result in a poor connection or breakage. Its no big deal to just slip off the phone case to recharge and play music.

I bought this to use at work in a fairly noisy environment. It sounds really good and has plenty of volume. For the money I am very pleased. The iLuv app is nice too. One thing I would suggest to anybody buying one is to order the CableJive LDOCK-STB Female Lightning to male Lightning dockStubz for Lightning Devices if they have a case on their phone because without it the lightning plug on the dock will not seat properly into the phone. My case isn't bulky at all, but I could not make the connection without it.

We bought this for our 15 year old for Christmas. She uses it with her iPhone 5s and she thinks the sound quality is good. (She's a musician, so quality was important.) The only bummer is that her particular phone case is pretty thick so she can't put the phone in the jack unless she removes the case. I looked into buying a cord that she could use to hook the phone into a port in the back of this item, but haven't wanted to spend the $35 for one.

This is the BEST purchase I have made in a long time. I am a total Bose snob, but really wanted something small for my desk, and didn't want to spend Boses prices this time around. You really can't go wrong with this. The sound is absolutely great. I read all the reviews before I made this purchase and I'm so glad I did. The people that are complaining that they have to take the case off their phone before they can use this, I'm just shocked at. Is that a really big deal? Unreal.

Easy to hook up and easy to play. The sound that comes out is fantastic and comparable to many bookshelf units costing more. I recommend this for any iPhone 5S user who wants to listen to great music through a nice speaker system. Good value for the money spent. I have been asked if this speaker system will serve for use with the new i phone 6 or 6 plus. The answer is that it will fit the new i phone 6 and 6 plus, because they have the same connector size. The only draw back is that if you have a case around your phone you have to remove it to place it on the sound dock. The connector is not long enough to plug in all the way if your phone case obstructs the connection pin. I hope this helps those people that have asked the question.

I bought this iPhone5 speaker dock as a Christmas gift for my daughter who is a college student. When she opened the gift, she was very happy with the look and feel of the device. She plugged it in right away and started to play music on her iPhone. We were all pleasantly surprised by the beautiful sound of the it - for such a small device, the speakers sound very nice. It is also very easy to use - you won't need a manual to operate it. This little device got a lot of use through the holiday week when our entire family was home. My daughter will take it with her to her college dorm happily when school starts.

What can I say? It works! It successfully adapts my iPod to my 1970s Retro Marantz stereo system. Lets face it, it is not responsiblefor the sound (Which is surprisingly good IMO) it is only responsible for charging the iPod, which it does, and adapting the 30 pin to the twin RCAs to feed the AUX input on my Preamp. It does that nicely. The remote, as pointed out by others is a bit of a joke, but I only use it to turn the iPod on/off and maybe "Next Track" locally....not across the room. I like it!

This product worked right out of the box with my apple ipod touch 4th gen.- Hooray!!! I took a chance on purchasing this because Apple's own Universal Dock does NOT work with the ipod touch 4th gen. There are many negative reviews about this dock and I am not disputing anyone's experience, but this dock worked fine for me. Yes, it seems cheaply made and my ipod touch does not fit as snugly in the dock as I would like it to, but it works! As far as the remote, it looks and feels like a toy, but it worked fine for me from 10 feet away as long as I pointed it directly at the dock. I have only had this dock for one day, so we will see what happens in the long term and I'll update this review if necessary. If you are considering this dock, just read all the reviews and adjust your expectations accordingly.

This is a very early review. Just received the Dock. Installed easy. Works fine. iPod plays through my music stereo system with good results and no issues.. For me, the remote worked at about 8 feet. Close enough for my purposes. Any farther away and I couldn't see the iPod anyway. All remote functions worked as expected. The five stars is primarily based on what you get for the low price. This is not a high end product, but for continuous iPod charging and easy/quick play I think it's worth the price. Might even buy another one.UPDATE 6/12/2015. Deducted one star. I find it necessary to join the chorus of those with complaints about the remote control. It stopped working after two days, never to work again at any distance--even with a new battery. The unit still works for my purposes, but will not satisfy any who find the remote control necessary--probably a one star product for them. The price remains OK for an IPod charger, and non-remotely controlled playback docking. station .

So far so good. As mentioned, it would be nice for the remote to have better range, and have a little more functionality. However, the base is heavier and better made than I thought it would be, and it fits the bill for me perfect.UPDATE Feb 19, 2015:One of the main complaints that I see here is the remote stops working. I believe that that's not actually true. Read on!For me, I found that because the dock has no support for the iPod, the iPod is just being held in and held up by its connection. Therefore, when you use the touchscreen on the IPOD, it presses the iPod backwards and makes the connector loose in the base. This makes the connection intermittent/breaks the connection with the iPod. THEN when you go to use your remote it doesn't work because the iPod is not actually connected to the base. I was able to tell this because I would play music while moving the IPOD back and forth in the base. While wiggling, the connection would make/break and I could either hear the music through my stereo (when the connector was working), or through the ipod speaker. When I could only hear the music through the iPod speaker, the remote would not work.I was able to fix this by cutting a piece of Styrofoam I had laying around, and placing it in the base (wedging it in tightly actually) so that it supported the bottom of the IPOD, and keeps the connector from moving. This is ok for me because I only use my ipod for playing music, and don't constantly dock and undock. Bingo, the remote now ALWAYS works.SO - For me, I found its not the remote, its the IPOD losing connection to the docking base!!Unfortunately its seems that there aren't that many docking products out there, and none of them are great. I blame the stupid iPod connector mostly, but it does seem like this problem could be solved inexpensively.

It works well for what it's supposed to be used for....on the other hand not what I used it for I drive a tractor trailer and enjoy listening to certain podcasts on my iphone4s. With no way to listen to them over my tractor stereo I bought a headphone jack fm transmitted to broadcast it on the radio but with the case on my phone it's not a good fit. So I bought this dock to mount in my tractor because it has an audio out jack I could just plug in the transmitter and charge my phone at the same time. After about a week of bouncing around in my tractor it got loose it still works but I have to hold it the dock with a rubber band . Thought it was a good idea at the time and am not gonna fault p-dock I just may have to come up with another solution to my problem

Comes as advertised with remote, 1 amp USB travel charger (folding prongs), standard mini-USB cable (3ft), and male stereo 3.5mm to male RCA adatper cable (3ft). Tested this with my iPhone 4S: without a case (or a very thin one) this dock connects perfectly. If you have a thicker case, just pop out the removable plastic dock insert and it works as well. Sound quality is great, no difference than if I plugged my speakers directly into the headphone jack. Remote works decently well, the further you go (beyond 12ft) the more direct you have to be with aiming but not absurdly precise. Pause/Play and FF/Skip work in Pandora and other music apps. In Apple's Music app you can use the menu and scroll buttons to navigate through your library.One thing to keep in mind is that you NEED to have the USB port plugged either into a PC or the charger for the remote to work.I only wish the remote could also do volume control like the Apple Universal Dock's remote.

The speaker has fantastic sound. My only complaint is how the speaker works (or doesn't work) with an iPhone. You have to install an app in order to play music. Fine. The ultimate problem is that if you are using any kind of iPhone case, you must remove your iPhone from the case. Not very practical for everyday use since cases are not designed to come on and off that frequently. With my Windows Phone and Android, however, this device works great! Plugs right in to the 3.5 mm jack, plays without needing any special software, and sounds fantastic!

Fast transaction it takes only 6 days and it arrives in Saudi Arabia in good condition. Nice sounds and elegant design. I will recommend this to my friends. Cheers :)In addition to this, it will be better if the developer of this add an Time & alarm function. But in general I am satified for what I paid for. Great job.

This dock is great. I initially bought a Sony, but for whatever reason, it's lost the quality my old Sony had. I heard very good things about this model so decided to try it. The sound is clear and crisp. There is plenty of bass and volume as well. The reason I did not give it 5 stars is because it doesn't come with a remote (loved that about the speakers for my old phone), and my phone cannot fit on it while the case is on. I knew the latter was going to be the case.

For the price this unit is keeper as it works fine with a bluetooth connection in very short distances. The bluetooth connectivity may also be an issue of my phone (Samsung Galaxy Exhilarate with Bluetooh 4.0). When at a distance of 10 feet I experienced audio breakup. When the phone was "docked" (must dock carefully as connector can be difficult to line up), the audio was flawless. I also tested the speaker phone selection and it provided a loud clear output and returned to audio play when disconnected. Once a phone is paired initially the pairing usually happens automatically after turning on the units power switch. There are no controls for things like treble and bass, just use the equalizer on your phone or audio device.

I had this and Bose sounddock III series on my wish list for quite sometime now. Nice accessory for playing your iPod or iPhone (old 30-pin style jack) through your stereo. This simple device lets me play my digital music (I have tons) on the older stereo in my garage. Now that the 30-pin connection has been replaced by Apple, my old iPod is outdated, but it holds lots of music that I can still play with this dock. The primary drawback is that the cord connecting the dock to the component plugs of the stereo is thin and flimsy. It has broken and I've since replaced it with a higher-quality version of the cord.

It worked well as far as the audio was concerned but the remote leaves a lot to be desired. There are limited functions and they are cumbersome to access. My prior unit which was 8 years old had a much more robust remote but it died. Ah well.....

Holds my ipod in a good position, but the remote is pretty finicky and I usually have to push the button at least a few times for it to register.

Now this unit is not made by Apple but it controls the IPOD completely on the Remote control. The volume is with this unit is controlled by your external speaker connected to the dock the IPOD volume does not make the speaker higher or lower. The Dock must put out maximum volume to allow the external speaker to control sound. Too bad this Dock does not use the universal inserts that Apple provides but the IPOD works fine with the 30 pin connecter minus the insert. This unit does charge the IPOD with no problems.

I received the remote as promised from Beach Camera, however when I set it up, the remote didn't work. I called Beach Camera and they referred me to their supplier who asked me to fax the invoice and they would send me a new remote. After ten days and not hearing anything, I called back the supplier who searched for the order and acted antagonistic on the phone. They finally sent out a new remote, but the system still does not work with it. I am sure that the infrared transmitter does not work. I do not want to spend the time and money to send back the unit, so I am keeping the dock. It works wonderfully with my audio system and keeps my iTouch charged. I just wish I could fast forward through some of the songs.......

Not a bad speaker, however the connection broke a few months in and I ended up tossing it after that. The bluetooth worked fine still but it didn't charge, which was half the reason I got it.

I would say that this item is a little over-priced for what you get, but it serves the purpose I needed - to allow my phone to charge in the vertical position while displaying the night-clock screen. Speaker quality is mediocre, and the charging dock feels pretty flimsy; in fact, I can't be sure the charging dock will last long at all, in which case I will revisit this review to show it as a VERY POOR product. Otherwise, the arms that raise and lower to keep the phone in place are probably the best feature of the product.

This system has great sound, but the deal killer is that it requires the removal of my phone's protective case. WHAT A HASSLE! I simply don't think it's worth it. I tried everything. Couldn't make it work.

Hard to line up phone with charger and makes an anoyingly loud beep when bluetooth is paired. Sound quality is low. It is nice to have for occasional usage in kitchen or garage but i woulnt like to use it often.

The sound is fine, it's nice and lightweight, and it works from the next room, which is all I'll need for my massage out call practice. But I made the mistake of assuming "most smartphones" would include my iPhone 4s, which does not have a "micro" USB port at all.Not knowing how small "micro" can be, I was surprised and disappointed to find that the USB port on my phone is four times as large as the charger on this dock, so it will never function as a charger for my phone at all. Since it does everything else I want it to do, I'll keep it. Maybe I can find an adapter for it at some point.

More solidly built than thought and phone docks securely. Easy to pair bluebooth and is everything as advertised. Sound could be crisper and is heavy with bass saturation, but an equalizer app helps boost sound quality. Good for desk or bedside.

I use it daily at work and it charges my ipod classic and it connects to my speakers just fine. The remote is a different story. I'd used it for a week before the battery died. I figured it was an old battery that it shipped with so I bought a new battery. A week and a half later that battery died. I tried another new battery with no luck. The remote just stopped working. For the price (at least for me) it doesn't seem worth the effort to go through what seems to be a nightmare of customer service. Lesson learned.

It allows me to play music from my iPod through my radio; that works just fine. But the remote does not work and it does not charge my iPod as it is supposed. One out of three is not so good.

I bought 2 of these on the same day from Amazon, 6 weeks later one of them stopped responding to the clicker so I went to check to see if everything was plugged in. Instead I found it to be so HOT that I thought it was going to catch fire. I called Amazon, they said it was too long for any type of product return and told me to contact Pyle. I went to Pyle to tell them about this problem, they wouldn't hear from me until I open and account with them. WARNING THIS MIGHT CATCH FIRE!

I probably should have send this back, but it has always had a buzz when used with my iPod. Initially it was plugged it the back of my receiver so I tried using the wall outlet, thinking it might have been getting feedback. That didn't cure it, nor switching out the cable (mini-plug to RCA ). Soon after I got this I bought a Western Digital media player that would stream my iTunes, so this began gathering dust. I would not recommend this product, but I could have just gotten a lemon.

I needed to replace my old DLO Homedock because the remote no longer worked. I ordered this as a replacement. The AV/RCA connection was compromised and only worked sporadically. I sent it back and ordered a BlackBox Digital AV Dock. I really only needed a way to connect an 3rd generation ipad touch to a home entertainment sound system. Not only did this one NOT work, but the cords are too short. It didn't charge the ipod touch as far as I could see, and neither did the remote. Note: it is a USB Power cord.

While this dock has a decent design, it's shoddily manufactured.First, the wiring inside the dock has the left and right channels reversed. When connected normally with a mini-plug-to-RCA cable, the stereo image is backwards. It's easy enough to work around this defect by connecting the RCA plugs the "wrong way" on the amplifier. But if you're using a mini-plug-to-mini-plug cable (some new amplifiers provide an "MP3" input jack on the front panel), there's no way around the problem. It's a careless error that's inexcusable, since wiring the connector to the output jack the right way shouldn't cost any more than wiring it the wrong way.Second, the 30-pin connector on the dock is out of tolerance. Too often, the sound from the amplifier will cut out and be replaced by the iPod's own squawky speaker. It takes some fiddling with iPod and connector to get the sound back. I tried cleaning the dock and the iPod with contact cleaner, but it doesn't solve the problem. It's probably a poor quality connector on the dock.Third, the remote control doesn't work reliably. I can't tell whether the fault is with the very flimsy remote control or the dock itself.I'm disappointed with this dock, but not angry. I was actually looking for a USB power supply for my iPod, and found that Amazon's price for this dock was not much more than the cost of a power supply. The dock was basically a freebie, proving yet again that you get what you pay for. Fortunately, the power supply seems work well-- at least for now. So I'll give it two stars.

It doesn't work with my iPhone. Why didn't it include an adapter if it needs one to function as promised? Now I have to get an adapter just to see if it will work!

I was moderately satisfied with the sound produced. I know better than expect great sound from a device that is so compact, but still hoped for better. My serious disappointment came when the item stopped working less than one year after I bought it. And with minimal use. I used it mostly to listen to a podcast while cleaning house, doing dishes, etc. I am VERY disappointed that my emails to the company have gone unanswered. My recommendation is to purchase elsewhere, for better sound and better customer service.

This product does not work on my iPhone 6s Plus because I have a phone case. They made the connection point so short that it will only work on a naked iPhone.

This item does not work as expected. The sound was not clear, the volume was actually no louder than my actual phone gets on its own, and my phone is Bluetooth compatible but would not connect to the Bluetooth signal, so I had to use the aux cord, which defeated the purpose of me buying this particular item. Also, I have a heavy duty rubber case on my phone, and it would not fit into the holding dock with the case on. Also does not fit tablets. Returning this product.

While the speakers look larger than the phone, even at maximum volume the sound is quieter than built-in Nexus 7 speakers alone. While it looks like you can charge your phone in landscape view (as you would for watching Netflix), you can only do so if the charging port is located on the long side of your device. When the Bluetooth connection is made, annoyingly loud beeps are set off. The only positive feature I found are the arms do help stabilize your device.

It doesn't have that much volume. I always have the volume turned up to maximum, even when I'm right next to the unit.The Bluetooth works ok. I dunno what the maximum distance is with my phone yet.***** The worst thing. IT DOESN'T CHARGE THE PHONE. I've tried every possible combination just to see - of course with the unit plugged into the wall outlet: Phone off, MobiAir off / Phone on, MobiAir on / Phone off, MobiAir on / Phone on, MobiAir off. And left it overnight. In the morning the battery level is not increased whatsoever. This part isn't just disappointing, it's exasperating and infuriating.The owner's manual/instructions are minimal at best.Not worth the hassle of shipping back, but I wouldn't get one again.It does accommodate a Galaxy Mega 6.3, but it is very awkward to get the charging pin lined up and into the base of the phone, and the Galaxy makes the unit a bit top-heavy and likely to tip over.Yes, you can play games while it's docked, but extremely awkward. And games that appear only horizontally on the phone (like MSM) are not really possible at all with this particular phone.

This was delivered today. It is a great disappointment. It is only compatible with Iphone 3 and 4 and old Ipods. It cannot be used with current equipment. For me it was a worthless waste of money.

The sound of the music couldn't be heard over the static and a smell of burning plastic became too risky for me to leave it connected after about a half-hour of trying to subdue the static. Amazon promptly refunded me the purchase funds.

This has ended up completely useless. What is the point of having a remote if it won't change the volume??? I purchased it because it was "compatible". Well, as far as I am concerned it is not compatible to the Apple remote/dock that I have been using. I don't know if I can return it yet but wanted to write this for anyone that will need to be able to adjust the sound.

You get what you pay for. This dock is junk. And the cables it comes with are junk. The only purpose of this dock is that it offers the ability to charge your iPod while playing it through your stereo unit. And offers a remote I guess. But you can play the music through your stereo receiver without a dock. Here's how: Get yourself a "Y" cable. One end has a headphone connection, and the other end has the red and white sound connections. Plug the red/white connectors into the back of your stereo receiver, plug the headphone connector into the headphone jack of your iPod, and you're in business. Connect your iPod to a charger cable at the same time to keep it charged while it plays.I bought this dock thinking it'd be nice to be able to throw my iPod on it and keep it charged and hey, a remote, so bonus. However, I hooked the dock up to my stereo receiver and there was a pretty significant hum right off the bat. The hum seemed to go away when I put the iPod on the dock, but I had trouble even getting the music on my iPod to play through my stereo -- it needed to be in the exact perfect position on the dock or you just get noise that will make your ears bleed. And even when I got music coming through my speakers, I couldn't get the sound to be any sort of quality I'd actually be able to listen to. Also note that this dock would not fit my iPod Classic 5th Gen with a case on it. So I tried hooking it up just using the Y cable it came with and bypassing the dock altogether. The sound quality was still awful.So I unhooked everything and I'm returning this dock. I now have my iPod hooked up to my stereo receiver using the method I first mentioned, with a new Y cable that is clearly much better quality than the cable this dock comes with (and Y cables are inexpensive to begin with). I lose the remote ability, but that's not really that important to me. Definitely read the bad reviews for this product. Don't waste your money on this dock.

Amazing - this product has no users guide in the package, and none can be found anywhere on their site.If there is some magic way to get this unit connected to a stereo to make it play, I would love to know what it is.None of the settings or combinations I have tried work at all.Going in the trash...

My phone goes louder than this speaker. Wish I had not purchased this. What a waste of money

I am only giving this product 1 star because it did work well for the first 4 months. Now, it will charge my phone when plugged into the cradle, but it will not play music. (iPhone 5) also when I try to use the auxillary plug, the vocals on my music are muted.I bought this product for my desk at work so that I could charge my phone while listening to music, and it is of no use to me now. :(I have tried getting ahold of seller but have been unable to. I am very dissatisfied.

It doesn't work first of all, my iphone 6 won't play and after the first month. When it did play the sound was poor quality and not at all what I have found with previous docking stations which I loved. I wish i would have never spent the $ on this. It wouldnt play my music for more than 5 minutes & quits and after it quits playing & u try to play it again it wnt work at all. Dnt waste your $!!!!!!!!!!! The only reason i gave it 1 star is because i had to otherwise i would give it no stars.

I should have trusted the bad reviews but I thought the price was nice. I got one song to play then it just stopped working. It will turn on but the speakers don't work. I was really wanting to take this on vacation but sadly this will be returned. I'll go buy something better at a big box store, so if it needs returned I don't have to hassle with shipping, and I'd get a replacement immediately. I don't ever have problems, from now on I'll trust the reviews.

After only 3 months of use, this device no longer works properly. It powers off by itself while trying to use it. If trying toturn the volume up or down... it powers off. Not at all impressed with this product. Would not recommend.
