Five Star Reviews: | 36% Looks great in our kitchen May 31, 2016 Looks great in our kitchen.Though I still have doubts on the quality of steel, this is definitely a great buy! Great price and quality April 19, 2016 It's the most affordable electric range... Great price and quality! THanks! Kudos February 28, 2016 This 30 inch electric range stove is cheap yet obviously in high quality! Kudos, Electrolux! Impressive December 29, 2015 As expected from electrolux! I really love the quality and design of this product. IMPRESSIVE! | 57% Two years later, still loving it December 20, 2016 Purchased this 2 years ago and still loving it! This was my first double oven and I use both ovens all the time! I like having the larger oven on the bottom. It's very easy to get things in and put of both ovens. The smaller top oven has a slide rack.I have not had any problems and would buy it again. My first purchase of a big item like this from Amazon, and it was a breeze. Five Stars February 20, 2016 Replaced my old double oven with the newer model love all the changes and upgrades Great stove September 18, 2015 Love it- easy to clean, cooks well! Very happy with two ovens...sizes great!Went from a gas stove with heavy grates that was difficult to keep clean. Highly recommend this stove. Best range ever! February 7, 2014 This stove is expensive and it is worth every penny. The design is incredible: from the top which rests on adjacent cabinets (nothing falls down the cracks!) to the double ovens which are both self-cleaning; the convection oven; huge glass windows to see in the ovens; expandable burners; warming burner; intuitive controls. The engineer(s) thought of everything.I thought I would miss an oven drawer. Not! Having 2 ovens is so much better.Everything on this range just flat works. And it even comes with a printed Users Manual! You don't have to fire up your laptop to see how it works. Love this company. |
Four Star Reviews: | 14% A good basis smooth top elect stove April 13, 2012 Purchase stove 2/2012 for kitchen remodel from nearby Best Buy for $680, include delivery & sales tax. It's a good stove for the value. Like the stainless steel front with large window and styling. Has a full one year warrant meaning repair is done in home. Like the easy cleaning of the smooth top. Door feels firm, but bottom drawer is a little weak. Good value for a basis stove. I would recommend it to friends. Misprint -Watch out! March 7, 2012 The width is listed as 47 inches - that is the actually the height! It was written incorrectly and almost caused me to cancel my order. Luckily I caught the error in time, otherwise I would have still be shopping for a new oven. | 14% Very good product. April 4, 2017 I had trouble installing it because of the depth of the unit. It has a protrusion on the back for venting. Otherwise I am very pleased with the stove. Yes, I would recommend it to friends. delivery drama July 5, 2015 nice stove lots of nice features after some drama as to delivery time stove arrived in time after reordering good response from vendor worked well with us Touchy Controls April 9, 2014 While it took them almost a month to deliver what was promised within 10 days, once we got this stove it was pretty much as advertised. I've never seen a pot of water boil so quickly, not even on a gas stove. The only two negatives so far are: 1) the controls are so sensitive that I accidently shut off a burning quite often. Hopefully I can train myself to avoid that; 2) The cook top is already showing imperfections. Despite being very careful not to let spills or splatters sit, it already doesn't look brand new, and yes I've been careful to use the cleaner and pad provided with the stove. Sleek and stylish Range April 5, 2014 The delivery occurred in less time than expected which is commendable. I was given a window between March 11 Mar 26. The stove arrived on Mar 14 from New York to Ohio during a snow storm.I've had the stove less than a month but the burners heat up much faster than my old stove which had coil burners. Please note: I haven't used the bottom oven but the upper oven more than adequately meets my current needs. It should be noted however that is difficut to pull-out the lower rack (on the upper oven) when set at the lowest point without running the risk of burning your knuckles on the oven door. Unlike the bottom oven that has an extension rack that slides, this feature is not offered for the upper oven.On this model the bake/heating element is under the oven floor. Manufacturer's recommendation is that "grease all oven rack side edges with a light coating of vegetable oil after cleaning them by hand or in the oven to maintain the ease of sliding in out the oven. Also, note you should be sure you have the right pans for the cooktop and oven for radiant glass cooktop. Stainless steel, aluminum and copper bottom is recommended (porcelain enamel on cast iron only recommend if bottom of pan is coated). Not recommended - porcelain enal on steel, glass-ceramic, stoneware and cast-iron ubless specifically for glass cooktops. Flat-bottom woks, okay.I'm still not finished reading the instructions but i must say I love this stove. It has five burner elements. One for just keeping things warm...like the teakettle. I love my new stove. |
Three Star Reviews: | 7% Good stove bad switch and expensive. September 12, 2016 So let me start by saying this is a nice stove good quality cleans easy and cooks well. Now with that said just 1 year after purchase the burner top knob switch quit working causing the burner top on light to stay on and they are expensive around 70 dollars expensive. But don't buy a new one they might be able to be fixed it is just a stuck contact see pictures for details. | 6% Burners turn on too easily by just leaning over the stove. September 10, 2016 I love this stove, but it does have one very big flaw. If you don't lock out the burners after you use the stove and you lean over the stove to get something out of the cupboard or the microwave, the stove will automatically turn on. I had purchased one of these stoves in April of 2013 and in February of 2014 I had a major fire because I had reached across the stove for the salt shaker and I did not have the burner lock on and one of the burners turned on to hi and I didn't catch it. I had a pan of grease sitting on that burner and it caused a major grease fire that nearly burned my entire home to the ground. My home was saved, but I lost everything in my home. I purchased this same stove again after the fire because I love this stove so much, but I am extremely careful now to lock the burners. GE needs to design this differently so that these burners do not turn on automatically. With the lockout feature, you have to hold that down for approximately 3-5 seconds to turn the lock on and off. I think the burners should be designed the same way. That would probably prevent them from turning on if you lean over the stove for whatever reason. I wanted to buy the model with knobs this time instead of the electronic controls, but the front panel was made, but the front panel was made of plastic rather than glass. I wanted the quality of the glass and not the cheap plastic, so I was stuck getting the electronic controls again, because that was the only model where I could get the glass front panel. Not what I had in mind August 5, 2015 I found this tough to use. I bought it for baking but I found it not suitable for cakes. |
Two Star Reviews: | 7% super disappointed! I love to bake April 10, 2016 I got this stove upon moving into a new home. So excited for brand new appliances in my new home. Fast forward a year, super disappointed! I love to bake, and this has ruined the experience for me. I have used both gas and electric ovens in past apartments. While I love cooking on gas range tops, I always loved baking in electric ovens. Wow what a let down. | 3% CVogelsong@comcast.net June 25, 2014 The front controls are not made for short people. They easily get bumped and shut off without realizing it. I just put in 2 5LB Hog Maws discovering 2 hours later the control got turned off while cleaning up the mess. If you use the control locks the temperature does not show and then again is it on or off. I would sell it if I had a buyer only 3 months old. |
One Star Reviews: | 36% Repairs, Repairs, and frustration ahead. August 16, 2017 We bought this three years ago and have had nothing but problems with it. In the first year the fan element rattled and had to be replaced and now we just had the circuit board go out because we ran the self-clean cycle. We just paid a repair guy $300 to fix the part. I'm not happy with my purchase and would return it if I could. Fricking Horrible February 25, 2014 I had to deal with this stove for a couple of years. The heating element went out during my Christmas baking. It just fell apart. The burners can't maintain any kind of consistent temperature. Also, it just now burned a pot of wonderful stew I was trying to make. Ruined it completely, when it was on the lowest setting the burner could have, it boiled the stew so bad that I took the pot of and it boiled for several minutes, burned me, and burned the stew meat, while in the liquid, black. So glad I am moving and getting a new oven. DO NOT get this stove unless you are a slum lord or a Real Estate investor and you want a stove that is cheap and looks good till you get some one in the house. I find it amusing that this stove has positive reviews on Home Depot. Not one 1 star rating. Hmm. Interesting. I did not buy this from Amazon, I bought it from Home Depot, but just wanted to get the message out there so no one else will have to suffer the same fate as me. Terrible temp control November 18, 2013 Continuously get F30 after a short time and cannot cook anything in the oven. I got a temperaturemonitor and when I set the oven to 350, the temperature is at 250. This thing stinks. It's purdiful! November 2, 2013 I've been cooking on electric stoves since my mom had me on a step stool stirring stuff for her, so my issues with temperature management are not coming from the typical gas/electric conversion. One of the things I've always loved about electric stoves is that you can turn the burner on to a certain spot and the burner stays that specific temperature. Whether the burner was empty, had a pan with light oil and spice, had a box of cereal, or a dutch oven full of car parts...the burner temperature stayed the same. Not with this stove and it's "sensors".If you just want a stove that looks pretty or you are a stoner who has the tendency to turn a stove on at 3 am and fall asleep before getting the food out...this stove is for you! If, however, you like to actually cook food that requires specific heat settings and MAINTAINING that specific temperature for longer than 30 second intervals...let's just say you'd be better off with an old $50 stove from Craigslist.I'm not a review writer. I do read and appreciate them though. I got so pissed having to scrap an omelet into scrambled eggs just now that I pulled this up and started typing while they were cooking. Oh, and if you decide to get this stove and like pancakes that don't look like they were cooked over an open fire, go ahead and buy an electric griddle to use instead of this stove. You'll thank me. Poor quality January 13, 2013 We bought this appliance in Oct. 2010 and were excited about having our first ceramic top range. But after owning it for just less than two years, we started getting a code, F10. Something was wrong. We followed the directions - unplugged the unit, waited five minutes, plugged it back in. Everything was fine. But then it started giving us the F10 code when we hadn't even turned the oven on! Then it started giving us an F30 code, indicating something amiss in the temperature sensor probe. For crying out loud! I've had other beater ranges years old before they needed replacement parts or major maintenance. Not happy. Not happy at all. I'll stay clear of Frigidaire. | 20% NOT happy!! December 22, 2016 We wanted to buy American and GE. We bought this range and within a week we had a major issue. We boiled the water over while cooking pasta and it spilled water on top of the range. This ended up shorting out the logic board and with the error code announcing we were out of comission. Apparently there is no seal to prevent water on top of the range from seeping into the range logic bard below. Are you kidding me? Everyone has spills on top of a range. We ended up NOT having use of the range over the Christmas holidays when family was visiting. NOT happy!! A 'GE customer relations manager' is to call but that could be days which speaks to the poor quality of their products in my opi September 13, 2016 Have had this 14 months and the upper glass oven door shattered in to hundreds of pieces! It was not damaged in any way. The stove has barely been used. We were using the bottom oven on convection mode at 375F and came back in to the kitchen to find the UPPER oven door in hundreds of pieces while still in the frame. I have contacted GE and MABE (their manufacturer whom have washed their 'hands of it' because it is 2 months past their warranty date). Buyer beware is all I can say. A 'GE customer relations manager' is to call but that could be days which speaks to the poor quality of their products in my opinion. I wanted to like it so bad! January 18, 2016 I just loved the design and decided to purchase it in consideration of all great reviews. Less than a week after using it I wish I would have kept my old stove.#1. I received a unit with front panel without the actual outlined buttons as pictured. Instead it is just underlined description of the buttons. It is nothing like the great looking display in the picture and I wish I would have returned the unit right then.#2. I knew that only the bottom oven was conventional, but didn't realize how uncomfortable it is to use it. Essentially cooking on your kitchen floor, bending down or squatting with heavy pans with the door in the way. In my case it would make more sense to make the top one conventional since that is the one that most people may be using majority of the time. Top one is comfortable to use, uses less energy and should have had the convention option. If that was the case I wouldn't mind bending down now and then when it was necessary to use both or the bigger oven.#3. The overhanging glass on the sides looked amazing until I pushed the stove into place and realized that there is metal flashing under the glass on the sides. This makes the glass sit up higher than the counter and not flush. Although it is probably less than an eighth of an inch I find the gap unacceptable and to me the extended sides defy their assumed purpose.#4. This one really did it for me! To this point I was at relative peace with my huge mistake and just took it as an expensive lesson, but.... Today I've spilled some coffee over the control panel. There was quite a bit of it and therefore I was surprised that none of it got to the floor. Just wiped the control panel and it would have been a good day if it stopped there.... Just in case I decided to check for spill under the stove and that's when I discovered where all my coffee went. Both oven doors are double wall glass with heat vents on top of the doors and all my coffee leaked from the top down through the vents inside both doors. Streaks everywhere on the inside of the glass, impossible to clean unless you take both doors completely apart. Haven't even looked if it will be possible and ran over to share my experience in case any of this may help others in their decision. I believe it is only reasonable to assume that at some point you will have a spill over your stove. This makes the design unacceptable to me and it just feels like there is more to come... Wish there was a realistic review on this product before I wasted my money. So to my experience the pictured product is a great looking stove, but at this point I wish I would have chosen proper design and functionality over looks. Stay tuned, I'm sure there is more to come...UPDATE: Both front selectable size burners default to the largest size every time you turn them on. It would only make sense to default to the smallest one in order to save energy or the life of the elements, or at least it could remember the last setting. Makes no sense, it is frustrating not to be able to do anything about it. Horrible design. Also only the oven buttons (description of the buttons in my case) light up when pushed and you can hardly see that during the day. Stove buttons do not light up. LovED it! July 19, 2015 I've only had this oven for a couple weeks but so far i love it. The stove top heats up very fast, and i love the smaller over option. I've yet to use the big oven as i haven't needed to. Love it!UPDATE!!! 2 years later. Stove was purchased exactly 2 years ago in 2015. It's now 2017. The stove has STOPPED working. It's a mystery. No heat in the oven or stove top. Although the clock still works...??? It's going to cost $100 for GE to send someone out, + Parts + Labor. AND, it will be a week before they can come out. Extremely disappointing that a stove that cost $2,200 breaks 2 years in. They don't build them like they used to, that is for sure. |
