| If you only needed connectors you can get a better deal without the crimper being includedJune 22, 2015 Alright, so much hatred towards the crimper is unneeded. If you only needed connectors you can get a better deal without the crimper being included. I however had previously been using electrical tape and twisting copper ends together. This kit is fantastic - I love everything about it. I needed to order some seperate barrels because I've done a lot of wiring but this has literally saved my hours and it's increasing the quality of my wiring over fifty-fold (yes I ran the numbers and that's an accurate measurement). Neiko 175 Pieces Solderless Wire Terminal & Connection with Wire...February 15, 2014 My item arrived in the mail today, way earlier than delivery date stated, and what great timing; I just happened to be working on a project. Although the crimp tool was not very sharp and hard to splice, it is well built, thick and heavy duty; I can always sharpen the cutting edge to my liking. With a 175 piece terminals and connectors in the package, I have enough supplies to keep my projects ongoing. I like that it came in a self storage plastic clear box so I don"t lose any pieces and can refill box when runs low. The crimp tool also fits inside the self storage box allowing me to keep all in one place when needed.Totally pleased with product, seller (Neiko), and Amazon. Great variety!November 27, 2013 I'm simply rating the kit itself here. You get a TON of different sizes and colors and that's great! You're gonna need em, even if you think you won't. HOWEVER, if you're buying this in hopes that "wire stripper" will be a sweet addition to your tool box,..THINK AGAIN! That thing is WORTHLESS! I bought this knowing that and so along with it I purchased the proper stripper. But as I said, the kit alone is well worth the price! I was going to buy a bag of 100 splices then saw this kit of 175 pieces plus the crimper and box for less.I have a bunch of cheap crimping tools I've accumulated over the years that are perfectly functional -- this one is better than those. Ok, I take that back a little bit - none of them are very functional at stripping small wires - they just aren't made that precise - but this one worked better and I was able to strip the trailer wires without resorting to my knife.Anyway, if you just need to do some minor wiring now and then, this is fine. If you need to crimp wires for a living, you probably want to buy a professional tool and should think about buying your connectors in bulk. Great Value for the PriceMay 25, 2013 This Neiko set works great for my solar projects. Some reviews complain about the crimper, but mine works fine. Besides for the price your paying what do you expect. Ever go shopping for big ring terminals, the ones that can fit on a battery, good luck. This set supplied me with everything to complete my job. I just ordered another one, for connecting more battery banks to my solar panels.... Nice set of connectors - crimpers are garbageJanuary 7, 2012 This is a decent set of terminal connectors. Soon as you get it, you should throw away the crimping tool, and get a decent pair. The crimpers that come with this kit at extremely stiff, and difficult to work with at best. but i did not buy this kit for the strippers. The connectors seem of good quality. Another side note is the storage box this comes with, you must keep the connectors in their bags. If you don't, they will overflow into the other compartments if turned sideways. But like i said, i bought them for the termination ends only. I'm a happy customer. | | | | |

| Works as advertisedApril 17, 2017 This was exactly what I needed. The wire stripping portion of the tool is not the best and I would up using my stand alone and much better wire stripper. However, the tool worked perfectly to clamp down the posts!! Nice cheap set of connectors/terminalsDecember 3, 2015 This is a cheap set of terminals and connections and it comes with a cheap crimper/wire stripper. The wire stripper doesn't work very well (I got fed up with it and just used scissors instead). The terminals/connectors themselves aren't the highest quality but they do the job that they are supposed to do. I give the terminals 4 stars since they were cheap and work; the crimper generously gets 1 star but considered it just a bonus so it doesn't affect my overall rating of 4 stars. A decidedly Terminal issue.July 19, 2015 I wire things up and rather than just twist the wire around the screw I terminate it and do it properly. This kit helps me immensely in that respect.Note: The stripper part of the pliers is sized metrically, not by wire gauge. It took me about two seconds to figure it out, so no problem there.The hand pads (the red grips) need the following: Wipe down the handles with alcohol. Apply a little rubber cement to the handles and slide the grips back on.That's the extent of the problems I had. Good and useful and I may need more terminals before too much longer. Everything you need to install new speakers into your car.July 17, 2015 I could not find a better price for this. Having 175 pieces of terminals and connectors with a crimpling tool for only $12 is simply amazing! This product came in really fast and had everything I needed to install speakers into my car. I only had one little issue with the crimpling tool. It being brand new, the tool was very stiff and very hard to use when crimpling the connectors to the wires. So please BEWARE when using this tool. Other than that, this was simply what I needed. It'll work for small and infrequent jobs.May 28, 2014 This is a cheaply made set, but you could have guessed that from the price point. It works, and I don't plan on using this set very often, so it was a good solution for me. The crimper feels sturdy, but I would have rather payed more money for more connector terminals. Most that it shipped with I have no use for. There were not nearly enough butt connectors for my needs. Overall, it is a good choice for guys that just want to install a head unit in their vehicle if they supplement it with extra butt connectors. This is what you buy for the rainy day.March 7, 2014 For that time when you suddenly need what it does to get home. I would not recommend it for professional use as ratchet and hydraulic tools are needed for a serious high reliability job. This tool is like a Swiss Army Knife as if carefully used can suffice for many jobs and it comes in a small package with almost all options covered. It is what it is and if it is the only thing you have it will save you the cost of the package in gas to get what you need at moments over time. I keep thousands of wire terminations on hand and they take up a couple cubic feet of space. This tool is the one that is in the bottom of the tool box of my mini truck. | You Get What You Pay ForMarch 12, 2017 We bought package because it looked like a good value - good variety of colors and styles.The tool is poorly constructed - it comes together in front to cut wire, but doesn't come together in back so it won't crimp or strip wire.The terminal metal is a bit thin but seem to work ok as long as you don't pull too hard on the crimped wire.Since the box is made for the tool, the dividers don't come up all the way, so you need to leave the terminals in the little baggies which is a bit inconvenient. Works in a pinchMarch 2, 2017 The biggest complaint is the crimp tool. It's the standard low quality crimper that won't even strip wires let alone make a decent crimp. These are for small projects where you don't require high quality crimps. Works in a pinch but I have had a few crimps fail and wires fall out. It preformed exactly as I expected to but I wasn't being picky for my crimp jobs. Gets the job done... But not the best quality.May 8, 2015 Not the best quality.... but you get what you pay for.A couple of the crimps completely cut in half when trying to crimp the connector on the wire. I'm an electrical engineer and IPC certified.... so crimping, connectors, etc. is my thing.This kit is still pretty nice for the price as it WILL get the job done! But it you can tell it's made kind of cheaply. Personally, for some of the higher quality stuff i work on i have to use better connectors and crimps. Not badApril 21, 2015 Like everyone else, I immediately tossed out the crimpers that came with this set. The variety of crimp on connectors in here is nice, and you can probably find one that fits what you need. If, like me, you're in the middle of a project, you might be better off just buying a couple different packages that only have the crimps you need. As it stands now, I wound up having to buy some more in the sizes I needed and I'm left with a lot of connectors I'll likely never use. You get what you pay for.April 8, 2014 I just wanted a very basic set of connectors and a wire stripper to keep in my truck.After reading reviews, I didn't have high expectations for the stripper. They turned out to be slightly better than I expected. Cheap, but sufficient.The box is poorly designed because the connectors can move from one compartment to the next. I replaced it.The connectors themselves are fine, but rather than 18 different bags of connectors, I got 18 bags containing only 15 varieties of connectors. Three of the bags were all the same connector.Being that the box was poorly designed, the stripper is mediocre, and my connectors weren't correct, I feel that the most redeeming quality of this product was the price. My rating of three stars is somewhat generous. Ok for the priceDecember 4, 2012 Purchased this kit because buying electrical connectors piecemeal was getting expensive. The crimper/stripper tool was hard to open and close, as other reviewers have said. It's nothing that a little oil can't fix. I just applied some light oil that I happened to have on hand and opened and closed the handles until they loosened up. The wire stripper worked fine. The wire cutter at the tip just mashed the wire and didn't cut it.There's some female spade connectors, but no male spade connectors which I found a little strange. The connector assortment is Ok, but it didn't have the connector size that I needed for an upcoming job. Looks like I'll be heading down to the local hardware store again. Oh well........ | | | | |

Misleading DescriptionDecember 14, 2016 Unless one looks closely at the photos, one will not know that the crimp/cutter/stripper is labeled for metric screws/wire size. Nowhere in the description was it stated that the crimp/strip.cut tool was measured for metric. No big thing, except it makes doing a job with these things a little more involved. I should've looked for a better product.February 15, 2016 First, the case arrived broke. It was broke where the latch is and now will not clasp closed. The strippers are bulky and not user friendly. I had to oil the pivot point and work it open and closed for a few minutes. These will definitely be a back up to the back up pair of wire strippers. Then again, I may just give them to my son for his little projects. Not worth the money. The stripper/crimper tool was a joke. The stripper wouldn't close enough to strip from the smaller gauge wire and the tool was hard to open and close, let alone use. Concerned QualityApril 24, 2012 This seems like a good deal , but once I received them I had two of the connectors break off while crimping them which leaves me with some concern as to whether they will keep a good connection after being there for a while? I have to be honest and say that nothing about these really leaves a good taste in my mouth! Not great fit for a strong woman. The handles are on the large side for a woman. The pliers don't cut all the sizes but they are good for the crimping. Wire pulls from finished crimp too easily. If a crimped connection pulls, it leaves the wire end exposed to cause a short - or a fire!The material these connectors are made from is too thin to crimp strongly and grip the wire properly. Not made from tin plated copper like other quality crimp-on connectors are made from.Amazon refunded my purchase without requesting that them item be returned. The Neiko crimps don't hold well, I recommend you don't use these and I tossed the whole set in the garbageMay 28, 2014 The first crimp I made pulled out easily so I made several test loops with different connectors and wires and pulled them. The crimp metal in this set is weak and fails way too easily so these will not be reliable. By contrast the crimp connectors I bought in the local hardware store hold much better so I am going back there to get more. I do not consider these worth the risk to use in my car so they were all tossed in the garbage where they belong! I don't want my car electronics failing a few years from now due to this inferior product. Eh ... revised to a 1May 23, 2012 Needed the terminals and a spare crimper.The terminals are ... terminals --- with inflexible, clumsy insulation. After using a bunch of them in a project I wound up clipping them out and using other ones.
