Roll Into a Better Life with This Hugo
October 19, 2015
It is a pleasure to write a review for a product that is transformative. This Hugo rollator with its eight inch wheels makes life so much easier for anyone whose mobility is challenged and has the strength to operate a moving walker. Rollators by definition have four wheels, hand brakes and often a seat, and the front wheels swivel to make turning easy, as opposed to the old-fashioned type of walker with rigid legs. I have used various brands of rollators for over twenty years and speak from daily experience. Walgreen carries one with smaller wheels I used for awhile, but the welding broke. This Hugo product has extra welding at key connections and I expect it to last for years, maybe longer than I do.It is a pity more older people don't use rollators. So often I see someone hobbling along with a cane, obviously in pain and at risk of falling, which has dire consequences for anyone over 60. A broken leg or hip can cascade into permanent disability. Sometimes I even gently suggest using a rollator, pointing to mine and touting its stability and flexibility. Cost should not be a consideration because Medicare will pay for it, if a doctor writes a prescription. Men in particular seem to disdain the use of any kind of walker, until they are so disabled they need a wheelchair. Perhaps it is a psychological fear of letting the world see that you need help, a loss of feeling independent. But that may be illusory. The beauty of the rollator is that it keeps you on your feet and actually enables greater independence. Although I can hardly walk two steps without assistance, with my Hugo I often whiz right by people struggling along with canes. Plus, walking is weight-bearing exercise, something we all need especially as we age. Riding around in a wheelchair would be very pleasant if you have someone to push you, but actually using your legs, if you have the strength to move them, is an enormous health benefit.Features usually include brakes, seats, adjustable height, and add-ons like cup holders and a way to hook up an oxygen device. If applied correctly, the hand brakes make the rollator stable. The underseat bag is super useful, and the seat is heaven-sent. How nice to cruise around, sit for a few moments to let your leg muscles recover, and then take off again! I have one rollator inside the house with a tray on the seat for holding everything from my coffee cup to potted plants, and another in the car (Medicare will pay for one, a second one costs typically between $75 and $125).This Hugo is by far the best rollator I have had. Hugo's larger wheels provide more traction over uneven surfaces. My 'wheels' take me out into the back garden, over bumpy decomposed granite surfaces, weaving in and out among fruit trees, and when I want to take in the view, I simply turn around and sit. There is just one caveat. The person who gets it out for me has more trouble opening this one than the old Walgreen's model I used for years. You have to pull out a knob while spreading the wheels and pushing the center down. It is awkward for him, a dream for me. It's sort of like admiring the beautiful snowfall from your window but not being the one who has to shovel it. Maybe Hugo can improve that one aspect. Otherwise, thank you, Hugo, for providing an enhanced life!
Would definitely recommend this walker to anyone needing to purchase one
September 10, 2015
This is the second Hugo Portable Walker that I have purchased for my wife. She literally wore the first one out after seven years of vigorous use. This walker has the larger wheels which makes it easier to use outdoors and has proven to be very durable. The only complaint we had with the first one was that we had to replace a brake cable when the original one broke. Even after seven years of use the walker was still serviceable, but was beginning to look a little shabby, so we decided to just replace it and was thrilled that we were able to find another one comparable to the first one. The new walker has some improvements that are a plus. This includes the strap you now use to collapse the walker and the locking knob on the right side of the walker. Also they have added strength to the walker by increasing the size of a crossbar in the front and rear of the walker. Would definitely recommend this walker to anyone needing to purchase one.
Hugo Walker is the best walker ever
April 17, 2014
Do not buy any other four-wheel Walker besides this one. It is made in Canada, and is so easy to assemble I could not believe it. The wheels are large and super easy to roll down the street. The padded seat is very comfortable. The under the seat bag holds a lot of things and this is a sturdy walker. The only issue I have with this Walker is that the brake lockdoes not necessarily stop the walker that well and I think they could have done a better job on the break lock mechanism.Do not confuse that with the brakes, the brakes work very well. This is the only four-wheel-drive Walker I would recommend at all I love it! And on top of that the seller delivered it on time, and it was packed perfectly like a brand-new item with instructions that were very easy to use.
"Bionic Wheeled" Rollator
October 1, 2013
I needed a superior Rollator for my daughter's wedding on a grassy mountain top, four days away. The one I travelled with from another state, with 5" wheels, kept getting stuck in every dip in the surface and I was exhausted after 15 feet, but needed something that would go at least 100 feet! I saw this one on the Amazon site, with the 8" wheels, and held my breath until it came, in 2 days, as promised! We went out to the venue, and this "bionic wheeled" Rollator was AMAZING! It had rained the previous day, and the ground was wet, and this Rollator got me through every dip in the surface like a snowmobile! Unfortunately, it also rained the day of the wedding, and we had to move under the tent, but even wet, this Rollator kept plugging along. I love it! The best part, is when it folds, you must pull a knob out to unfold it, so it doesn't unfold on its own like some of the others. It even matched my dress! It is a bit heavier than most, but can take a beating, and fits through doorways. But don't forget to lock the brake. It rolls away! Almost rolled into my pool when I stopped to throw my dog's ball! My third and FINAL walker brand. #1
It's Exactly What We Needed
September 25, 2012
I came onto Amazon looking to purchase this exact walker for my 82 year old aunt who has Lewy Body Dementia (LBD). My 88 year old grandmother has had this walker for a while now and it's been fabulous for her! I did look at other rollator walkers before I purchased this one - A couple were less expensive but most were far more expensive and did not have the features I thought made the Hugo so purchase worthy.LBD effects a persons body as well as their minds. My aunt has balance issues and needed something to hold on to while getting around and something that she could grab onto if her balance started to waver. This was the perfect solution and even with the memory issues it did not take very long before she got the hang of it. I did have to put a note on the seat reminding her it was a walker and not a wheelchair, tho. The seat caused some confusion in the beginning and she wondered why is was so hard to move and steer while sitting in it.There were several reasons why I chose this walker over the others I looked at and price was not one of them (tho a definite bonus)...if the more expensive rollators had been the ones with the features I was looking for I would have gladly paid it...1) The large wheels. My aunt LOVES being outside. I wanted her to maintain as much freedom as possible for as long as possible so being able to get outside and enjoy her gardens was VERY important and this walker can handle it...it goes over the grass and uneven ground better than the rollators with smaller wheels...is it an all terrain bike? NO, but if someone has need of a walker they will most likely not be "off roading" to that extent...but this allows my aunt to walk easily on the road (even the dirt road) and the mowed areas of the lawn, thus allowing her to still enjoy the things she loves to some extent.2) The basket. This walker is one of the few with an enclosed basket rather than a wire one and the basket is under the seat rather than in the front of the walker. Nothing falls out and nobody can view anything personal she may be carrying in her basket (like incontinence pads). Having it under the seat instead of in front of the walker gives easier accessibility for her...no leaning, reaching, or spinning the walker around to get to the basket, making it a safer option...and it's out of the way for maneuverability purposes.3) The quality. Having seen...and used...my grandmother's Hugo I knew it was very sturdy but rolls very well. It turns very easily and is extremely stable...which is just what we needed. It was also very easy to assemble and required no tools to do it.After reading the reviews and some of the complaints..I can't say a whole lot about the folding/unfolding. I've done it a couple of times just to make sure it worked properly and I knew how to do it. I didn't have any trouble at all doing either and was thankful to have to pull out the button to unfold it as I knew it would prevent accidental pinching if it unfolded without warning. The seat is comfortable enough...the back bar not super comfortable...but this is a WALKER, not a barka lounger. It's meant for walking and an occasional rest...it's not designed to be a long term chair...and as a rollator walker it is fabulous! The seat is fine for short term sitting...like waiting in line or even a full waiting room but not for curling up and reading your favorite book. For my aunt especially it's far easier (and safer) to roll up to a nice comfy chair and sit in that than it is to spin around, remember to set the brakes, and sit in the walker...not to mention remembering to release the brakes when she gets up ;)It is a little bit heavy...tho not as heavy as some of the others...and not considering what it is. I personally don't think it's too bad...I have a truck and have to lift it over the side to get it in and out...also why I don't have to fold it...I am a 36 year old female and I have two bad shoulders but can do it without a problem...for that matter my small 8 year old daughter can get it in and out of the truck (with tailgate down and up and down the stairs. I personally think the weight adds to the stability of the walker. It does not tip or wobble even on the uneven surfaces. I'd much rather that than a lightweight one that doesn't offer the stability my aunt needs. It's also just heavy enough that my aunt doesn't try to lift it or carry it up and down stairs...which is a definite no-no in her case...tho her sister who is 4 years older with bad knees has no trouble doing it for her.One other thing to mention is that some reviews mentioned not being able to get close to a sink or other area...I don't think this is reason to dock stars in a review. ALL rollator walkers will have this trouble as they are bigger and have a seat and or basket in front of you! But they are so easy to maneuver you can just roll it to the side and stand at the counter/sink and do whatever it is you need to do, which btw, is what you are suppose to do with a walking aid anyway..not leave it in front of you and lean over it. No matter which way you slice it, using a mobility aid of any sort is never going to be as convenient as the freedom of walking on your own. All things considered, this walker has made my aunt a lot safer and has therefore given the rest of us a little bit more peace of mind...you can't put a price (or less than 5 stars) on that :)
HUGO'S THE WINNER!
July 15, 2012
When my significant other of 23 years broke his hip in January and proceeded to survive myriad setbacks and continuing discomfort and ended up feeling safest in a wheel chair, I despaired of his rebuilding his strength and making physical improvements to his physical stamina and strength. I noticed after several weeks that he'd begun using the wheel chair as a walker around the house and realized it was time for a wheelerator. I researched on Amazon and the Net and learned the 8-inch wheels were the most versatile and then found Hugo on Amazon. Absolutely in love with it. Hugo is impervious to rough treatment and has provided support at the market, walking a local canal trail, and around the house. My friend has used it in the yard to weed his borders and it's his seat at the table. He's grown so much stronger he now ventures out with a cane. I cannot tell you what a winner it is. Simple assembly and the wheel chair has returned to its original owner/supplier. Amazon shipped and it arrived within two days and has pride of place in his home. Easily folded and put into the back seat or trunk of the car. what a miraculous aid for people. Only problem is it does provide an abundance of chutzpah which can occasionally contribute to a bit of overreaching but he's learned and taught me a lot from using it. Thank you so much for this wonderful device.

Fits transport wheelchair perfectly
August 13, 2017
Fits the transport wheelchair perfectly! My grandmother puts her water bottle in it as I wheel her from to room or the doctors office. Very pleased with this item and am happy that I made the purchase. Received exactly as described. Does what the product description has written about the item. Would purchase this item again and would also recommend to others.
Handy for rollator walkers and wheel chairs
May 24, 2017
This is good to use on a rollator walker. It was a little difficult to put on at first because the little screw nob seemed like it was too short of a screw. It will fit most any width bar. They have a little piece of rubber to use if the bar on the walker is too small. I keep a little plastic glass in the cup holder because unless you buy a Slurpee at a 7-11 all other cups will be too small. You want to make sure you have a lid on your drink.

April 22, 2017
I think they are good units. I connected two to a walker - once side for her drink and the other side for her cane and drilled a hole in that one and just ran some tape around the cane so it wouldn't slide through. You'll want to make sure you really tighten them so they don't move around.
GREAT FOR MUSICIANS!!
February 5, 2017
Writing a review after buying two so far. As a musician (drummer) this thing is a great add on to any drum kit! Bought a second one for my guitarist. These cup holders will fit any standard pipe for drums/mic stands. Great stuff here! It even comes with rubber spacers in case whatever you are mounting to is *just* too small. Very sturdy plastic, will hold full glass 40 oz bottles and anything smaller.Great product, simple, and it gets laughs because I drive the drums, and thusly, the band. lol.

Hugo Mobility Cane, Explanation For My Choice
August 30, 2017
My first cane. Two months following having broken every bone in my ankle and lower leg. Ouch! Reading about cane products, compact was a low priority since those canes separated into many unstable pieces. Higher priority was a cane with easily adjustable height, four "feet" for stability, and a handle that would position my grip directly inline with the shaft. The Hugo Mobility was the right choice based upon my criteria. I did not like the Hugo advertising logo on my cane which was white lettering standing out from the black of the cane. The small not-in-your-face button logo on the "foot" is inobtrusive and okay. I wrapped black electricians tape on the cane to cover the logo which looks fine. I had assumed that the cane moved parallel with, and on the same side as, the injured leg; according to videos on YouTube, that assumption is incorrect. Simply query on YouTube something like "how to walk with a cane".
I like the quadpod foot for stability and stand-alone ability
November 12, 2016
I'm on my second Hugo and they work well for me. I like the quadpod foot for stability and stand-alone ability. They do wear down at the bottom after frequent use, though--so fall over more often after awhile. That's the reason I've purchased the second one. It's nice now to have one in the house and one in the car, though. :-)
Very well made cane.
March 2, 2016
One of my friends had been looking for a cane to help him maintain his balance. We went to a Thrift store and found a similar cane that had a very large metal foot, but trying it out, he was prone to tripping on it so he asked me to order the one we had been seeing on TV. I couldn’t find the commercial and didn’t remember the name of the cane, but I finally found it by putting ‘as seen on TV’ in the search. The reviews on Amazon were OK, and I was going to order it until I saw this Hugo Mobility Quad cane and the reviews were much better (as was the price). After going to the website for the other cane, I found that there were a whole lot of unhappy customers, especially about the inability to have the cane stand on it’s own and the fact that the foot didn’t pivot well at all. Most of the reviews on the other canes site were ‘We’ll look into that or keep working with it until it frees up.’ I was really put off by the lack of concern that the other cane company seem to exhibit. The only problem we had, was the foot came with the wider part across his step, so we pulled out the allen screw and turned it. This was not easy as the allen screw was very tight, but we finally got it and now he uses it every day and is very happy with it.
Great cane for me
February 26, 2016
Had been using a hurrycane and really had no complaints with it - although it didn't stand on its own very well..... I wanted to try an offset cane too and have found that I feel much more stable and secure with this offset Hugo cane. Glad I purchased. I have MS and have balance and spasticity issues that can make me more prone to falling. This cane helps me to feel more stable - it has more cane bottom touching/hugging the ground when I walk and stands on its own with no problems. I have used this in wet & dry conditions, gentle elevations, concrete, brick walkways, etc. with no slipping or sliding of the cane bottom. Bending over to pick up a fallen cane is painful and likely to cause me to fall - so this is a win win for me. Happy with this purchase.
Hugo Mobility Quadpod Offset Cane with Ultra Stable Cane Tip, Ebony
December 26, 2013
I bought the Hugo cane for my mother after reading the positive reviews. She got it on Christmas Day and loves it. The wider contour handle help with her grip and stability and the footing was just the right size and didn't get in the way to trip her up. The rubbery sole on the foot help grip the tile floor and prevent sliding. The cane itself is made of heavy duty aluminum and is very strong, but light and is a little bigger in circumference,. Adjusting the length of the cane took 4 steps, just loosen the plastic nut, push in the holding button, and extend or shorten the length until the button pops into the desired hole, then hand tighten the nut. No tools needed. Great for people with balance problems and free them up from having to use the walker all the time. If you own one of those attachments on the walkers that allows you to clip on your standard metal cane, it will not work on the Hugo, which is slightly larger. The walker will stand on its only on level grounds. In case anyone is wondering, the green rubber on the sole are not suction cups.
Hugo cane
October 6, 2012
I had been told I needed this by my daughter because my regular cane was not doing a lot for the stability issue, just the support issue. I had seen it advertised and was hesitant but desperate. Crossing my fingers I ordered it and have not regretted it yet! It does stand by itself (a definite plus) but the stability issue while hurrying along is a big plus. Best decision I have been prodded to make in a very long time!

Perfect for teachers with heavy briefcases, suddenly on walkers!
November 7, 2017
These hooks have certainly bailed my professor-husband out of a real bind! I found them here on Amazon while looking for items that might make the new walker he’ll be needing for a while more functional as he navigates his way to classes and meetings. His greatest concern, of course, was how to carry with him his briefcase that bulges from all his papers and his computer. We were both delighted that the metal hook itself was designed to be wide enough to easily accommodate the width of his attache’s handle. It slips both easily in and out. Also, we both thought the Velcro strap could in no way support the heaviness of his briefcase, but we were quickly proven wrong on that — there was no problem at all. These “Think King Jumbo Swirly Hooks” are incredibly strong and have solved the most important problem he faced upon finding out his hands were going to be pushing a walker instead of carrying what he needs most in order to continue teaching. These hooks are career-savers!
Every parent should have one
September 29, 2017
I love this thing. I use it on my stroller to carry the diaper bag, and it holds it (al 10 lbs) without any issues and keeps the stroller base basket free for groceries and what not. It's also super secure around the stroller handle, so I don't have to worry about it falling off or slipping around. I highly recommend!!

Very handy gadget for your walker or for anywhere you can find to install this. Has a velcro closure that is very sturdy and strong. This allows you to hang things on your walker so you don't have to carry them in your hand.

Strong and Useful
May 8, 2017
Versatile and strong. Velcro adaptable for various positions on the Hugo walker I purchased. Bags, purses, phone and other hanging items can work.
Handy and convenient for travelling, among other uses
April 7, 2016
It's a sturdy hook, with a Velcro attachment that means it can be quickly and easily added onto mobility devices like wheelchairs and walkers, used to carry bags, and easily removed. It's better for smaller bags, like purses, knitting bags, and laptop bags; I do not think it would work well with suitcases. But it's perfect for what it does!

It's sturdy for her and she can roll it around easily
May 2, 2017
My Mom loves this walker, It's a little bit heavy for me to put into the trunk of the car. It's sturdy for her and she can roll it around easily.
But it's still an awesome walker!
April 18, 2017
Just don't leave it in your car overnight during extreme heat or cold seasons. I bought it because I only need help a few times a week, and leaving it in the car will make it harder to open and close. But it's still an awesome walker!
All In All, A Very Nice Machine
February 28, 2017
I purchased this walker some months ago, and I like it very much. The good:Nice quality construction, Large diameter wheels that roll easily over rough terrain, Wide frame that gives plenty of clearance for your feet while walking, ball bearings in wheel hubs. Has nice paint job.The not so good:The hand grips force your hands into an unnatural position, and the handlebars end in a horizontal position, could be improved if they were angled down a little. The brakes are grabby, and affect directional stability while going down hill. Lastly, it's a little on the heavy side.
NEARLY PEFECT MOBILITY AID
November 11, 2016
The Hugo Rollator Walker meets every criteria with one exception, that being the only reason for my 4 star review.. The seat/back rest are too short in depth making it feel like you are perched on the very edge of a seat; very uncomfortable. . The back rest is straight across rather than bowed in shape, making it useless for me for even temporary sitting. I realize the design is dual purpose for the Elite model to hang the back satchel from --.but for people with back/spinal issues, be aware that being seated is uncomfortable. A simple design change would make this this the PERFECT walker! We were impressed with how easily it folds and slides into the car for travel, an important feature for those with serious back problems. Hugo listened to its customers -- Kudos for the easily removed logos!
Wonderful stability across various walking surfaces, but can be a little hard to open and close without help
May 20, 2016
I am very pleased with this walker and would give it a perfect 5 stars if it weren't for the fact that it can be a little tricky to handle folding up and opening this walker by yourself. I feel that the walker is a good weight, not too heavy but also feels very sturdy while using it. The big tires means it works great on a variety of walking surfaces so you always feel like you have good stability under you. And I do want to mention this as I noticed some people complaining about this and clearly they were mistaken - the walker DOES have wheel locks so that you can lock it it in place when you sit down on the seat. The locks work great and allow me to feel very secure when I am using the walker's seat. The locks are activated by pushing both of the brake handles down (to brake while walking you would push them up), and it is very easy to put the brakes on and off, so even someone who isn't very strong can handle it without a problem. I should mention that this walker was not purchased for someone who is elderly, so I don't know if that will change opinions on any of the features, but rather it was purchased for someone in their 30s who has back problems. I highly recommend this walker and have no complaints other than that it can be a little difficult to open and close by yourself because of its bulkiness, so if you are purchasing this for someone who has strength issues, you may want to ensure that they have someone who can help them with opening and closing it before you purchase for them - otherwise this walker is excellent in every way.
Nice all terrain rollator.
May 18, 2015
Just what I needed after spine surgery. The hospital gave me a cheap walker, but I didn't want to use it on my hardwood floors. Also, I didn't have the strength to lift it as in traditional usage, sliding it on concrete outdoors was next to impossible. My mom had a rollator, so I thought ide get one. After looking at several, I settled on this one. Great product. Assembly was a snap (literally as you need no tools). The build is strong and sturdy. Handles my 215 lbs with no problem. The larger wheels make maneuvering way easier that the ones with small wheels (especially when walking on grass). The reason for 4 stars is the weight and size. The shipping weight says 18 lbs, but my wife says it feels way heavier. Also, this thing is big for a rollator. My wife drives a Mini Cooper and has to put the seats down to get the rollator in the car.

Great to have a drink holding device
June 24, 2017
Probably great with a wheelchair or non-wheel walker but I had a minor concern when mounted to a wheeled walker with seat. There are several places that I can mount the holder; but finding a good spot that does not get in the way when the walker is folded to carry in a car can be a bit of a challenge. Also the write up indicated that it swivels so that a drink won't spill. Mine doesn't, maybe I didn't install it properly but mine doesn't swivel automatically - I can turn it by hand in one plane but it is not free swiveling in both directions. I'm using it and it's nice to have a drink with me. As yet I haven't found anything better at a reasonable price.
It's a nice holder, but the instructions stink
June 10, 2017
It's a nice holder, but the instructions stink. You have to be innovative to install it. Many steps were left out. You have to put the bolt through the cup holder from the inside. The orange center piece on the knob needs to be popped out so you can hold the inside nut in place to be able to attach it to the bold. Make sure you install it U piece on the outside of the rail so the knob will be in the correct position. It took many tries to get it right, but it's very nice once it is attached correctly.
Not quite the right fit.
June 2, 2017
I had some frustration attaching this cup holder due to the fact that the frame on the side of my rollator is just a little too thick for it to fit. I had to put it near the bottom of my rollator which is okay if I'm sitting but not great if I want a drink when I'm walking. I'm disappointed that it won't fit where I want it to yet it was well made and may fit other models better.
... the clamp being so small but product seems rather good in quality
March 25, 2017
haven't been able to install this yet due to the clamp being so small but product seems rather good in quality.pro's: with it mounting via uclip makes it easier and gives us more options for mounting it to the wheelchair.cons: kind of a pain to get the spacer sleeves to stay and they use a lock nut on there which keeps the bolt tight, however that's not what I want. I need to be able to loosen and tighten it a little so I can slide it up and out of the way for transfers from wheelchair to bed.

March 15, 2017
I like ir but screw is not long enough to go through bracket on a 1" tube walker. I had to rig it with zip ties whiv then made it usable. Holder is too big for drinks to sit in and not turn over. I used an old style foam drink holder in it and it now works fine. I would return it if I didn't have to pay for return postage but I made it work with all the rigging I did so I will keep it. Would not buy again and would not recommend unless you are good at improvising.

March 2, 2017
Good Concept & ProductJust got this and installed it on my mom's rollator walker. The instructions are very short..literally only 5 steps. At first it was very difficult to install. Takes some pressure to get the U shape section around the pipe frame. The "orange" screw piece at first wouldn't tighten and kept falling off. After going through the reviews I noticed a previous reviewer mentioned moving the "orange" piece into an "up" position. Went back and tried again and after a few tries was able to move the orange piece. After that I was finally able to assemble the entire setup(tight but successful). So if you're having problems start with moving the orange piece first and see if that helps.

February 16, 2016
I purchased this for myself as I have balance issues from previous foot surgeries. My 75 year old father from Minnesota is visiting us in Arizona and saw that the cane had arrived and told me to order another for myself! lol.. He took this one and has used it ever since. LOVES it. It handles very well, it's lightweight but, heavy duty. The price can't be beat. It's an amazing deal. Will be ordering one for myself as well. The only reason for the 4 stars is I don't like the HUGO advertisement that can't be removed. I have tried everything and just can't get it off without scratching the cane.
Quite Stable
April 16, 2014
I was looking for a more stable base on a cane, when I ordered this one. I needed a can that wouldn't tip as I shifted more weight onto it while on stairs. This can handles that wonderfully. I get no 'tipping' effect while using it at all. As far as in use functionality goes, this can is a 5 star! The only reason I gave it a 4 star is, the cane doesn't like to stand on it's own on carpeted floors. If you let it stand on a hard floor surface, it is great. Unfortunately it tends to fall over when left to stand by itself on carpeted areas. Especially a textured carpet. Basically the more weight and pressure put onto the cane, the more stable it becomes. Overall I really like it, the carpet issue isn't a big deal to me. One other thing that may be an issue with some people, the handle is made of smooth plastic on the underside instead of foam. If you are like me and use your can to help move your leg, beware that your foot doesn't slip off the handle. If you put enough pressure against it, it shouldn't slip.
Nice cane But
December 27, 2013
This is a nice cane except tor one thing. The huge logo on it. First tip on this came. Use a gum type eraser to push the button down to adjust the cane.Next tip what to do about the logo use some tennis grip wrap to cover it up and it gives you a second place to grab when standing up.Next coverup. Use some pictures or wrapping paper to modge podge over the logo's.Nice flowers or just a pretty paper remember to coat over the top with several coats.Next tip use stickers to cover up the logosNext use some Colored tape and make racing strips or other designNext paint over the designs with what ever design you likeWhat ever you use it will make you feel better to not be a walking ad.This cane does work well and it stands on a rug or floor. However, if you have a dog like I do with a Happy tale she knocks it over. So I make sure it is tucked in safely so she does not tip it over on herself.I like that I can stand it and use both my hands when cooking or cleaning. The only reason that I gave it four stars is that darn logo. This will be a great help until my badly sprained knee heals.
I like them but....
April 18, 2013
I just received my two new Hugo Quadpods, and so far I really like the design. They seem pretty stable, but without looking too huge and clumsy. But I did have a few problems; nothing that can't be overcome....The biggest one for me was that the foot on each cane was aligned perpendicular to the cane handle; so the longest part of the foot went OUT from your body, not in alignment with it. This not only seems counter-intuitive to me, but it causes the cane to constantly tip over. The directions that came with the cane said that you can "easily" turn the foot 1/4 turn, so that it aligns with your stride, if you want to. Well....FIRST it said to "use a 4 allen wrench." There is no such thing as a "4" allen wrench. I finally figured out, after trial and error, that they mean a 4mm (metric) allen wrench. OK, no big deal. But...THEN, they say to take out the set screw on the bottom of the foot. Much easier said than done. Those screws are in so tight, I started to bend the allen wrench trying to loosen them! You have to unscrew it in tiny little increments because the feet keep getting in the way. Took forever.THEN is says to turn the foot 1/4 turn. How? Does it come loose? Do you lift it off and reposition it? I tried for about 15 minutes to do that, but it would not come loose. Then I tried just turning the entire foot while it was still on the cane. Wouldn't budge. I finally did this and it worked:I extended the cane to full length, to get maximum torque. Then I placed the foot on the ground, between my two feet. I used my feet to stomp on the can foot and hold it in place. Then I turned, REALLY hard, the handle of the cane. At first it wouldn't budge, and I thought this was another way I was doing it wrong; but then it suddenly gave way, and the cane turned while the foot stayed in place! Yay! I was finally able to align the foot the way I wanted it.Learn from my trial and error; do it the way I finally did, and it WILL turn. Just be patient, and be prepared to apply a LOT of torque!
Hugo Mobility Quadpod Offset cane
February 11, 2013
I like the way the quadpod is offset from a traditional quad cane. I found myself occasionally tripping on the legs of the traditional quad cane. It's attractive as far as canes go. It is stable no matter what surface you walk on.
Good cane
September 27, 2012
Cane is in actuality what was described in advertising and promotion. It is a sturdy, well built product, that also has a very nice grip which not only fits my hand well, but is partly made of a non-slip material, that adds to a good grip. The cane is a nice weight, but more than that, it has a good balance, including the Quadpad. This is important for overall ease of use. All in all a good cane. The Quadpod works quite well, which makes the cane very effective. It is quite an advantage to be able to have the cane stand wherever you are and no have to prop it up.One suggestion. .. Include an Allen wrench with each cane, which would not be expensive, but would be very much appreciated.

A nice accessory for a rollator
October 19, 2015
An impulse buy, this is a nice addition to my mother's rollator. The basic ergonomics are nice, with a nice big hook, and no sharp edges. After reading the reviews, I won't overload it, but overall, it's plenty strong for our purposes.
Lightweight, convenient, but heavier purses can bend the metal
January 20, 2012
Like anything that you attach to your stroller handle, always be careful of adding too much weight and tipping your stroller with your child in it (or when they get out and it all tips over). These hooks are great in that, they are lightweight, and conveniently for quickly looping on your purse or diaper bag. That said, the metal is a bit soft and a heavy purse (or two purses) can bend the metal. Fortunately, you can bend it back, with not too much force. So, a good idea, but be mindful not to hook on a bunch of grocery bags to it.

which I liked very much
September 20, 2017
My first walker purchase was the Hugo Elite rollator walker, which I liked very much. I purchased this model when I lost some screws on the Elite model and was waiting for replacement ones to arrive from Hugo. I also bought it as back up, thinking I'd keep one in the house and keep one in my car rather than take one in and out all the time. This model seems a little bit lighter in the frame and has a different type of underseat storage area. Also, the wheels are a bit different than the Elite model.Other than finding it difficult to adjust the brakes, this model worked quite well for me until a recent outing to the Biltmore estate in Asheville, NC. At the very start of the visit, I was walking to the car after having lunch. I couldn't seem to steer the walker in a straight line. One of the legs was kind of splaying out to one side. I looked down and saw a crack in the frame. A minute or two later, the whole frame just broke off. It's a good thing that I am fairly well-balanced and able to stand on my own, because after having my friend help me get the walker back into the car it was useless. I could have injured myself. As it was, I had my cane with me also and was forced to use just that the rest of the visit. When I went home and looked to see if I could figure out when I bought the walker, I discovered it was only two years old! The frame is guaranteed for three years, but to get a replacement I would have to pay for packaging and shipping back to Huge in CANADA! Not sure it's worth it. Since then, I have purchased an entirely different type of walker for my back-up. If I end up deciding not to ship this one back to Hugo for a replacement, I can always keep it for parts.

Not great for storage
October 14, 2015
Not great for storage. Doesn't stay put vertically, you'd have to lay it down if you want to put it away, plus it takes up a lot of space. Doesn't lock very well either while in motion. Easy to put together and easy use.
It's nice looking & easy to set up
August 22, 2015
Amazon delivered it quickly. It's nice looking & easy to set up. It's kind of high for my 5' 1" mom, even with adjustments. It moves well but we didn't anticipate that it could be dangerous if a person leans on the rollator (like some do with grocery shopping carts) & does not have arm/hand strength to easily use the brakes. The rollator works very well but not for everyone. We'll need to go to a medical supply store to try ones that work for her height and the other issue. She continues to use a regular walker but needs one with the seat.
Almost rugged enough
July 28, 2015
I bought this for the large wheels because I live in a rural area with my mom and have gravel drive and grass. There was much modifying needed as the rocks would easily become wedged in the brackets that hold the wheels on. Not sure why the have to be so deep. I had to back the breaks off to where I didn't think they would even work anymore but they did. I had to grind over half an inch of plastic above the wheel to allow for the rocks to pass through so they didn't lock up the wheels in the front. Otherwise it seems to be a well built walker. Someone needs to come up with one with skinny pneumatic wheels that are not cumbersome and heavy that do not vibrate as much as hard wheels pm grave.

Inexpensive, and worth what it cost.
June 16, 2017
This isn't as "universal" as claimed. I had to purchase a longer bolt to affix it to my knee scooter. Once on, I find that it tilts and can spill the liquid and the cup! It beats no cup holder, but I wish it were more stable. It is pretty large--big enough for coffee cups & my 24 oz Tervis glass. There is really too much room for a typical glass. I need to use a cloth to take up the extra room to provide stability for my drink.
Needs improvement
March 27, 2017
This design leaves much to be desired. But it is useful to transport bottled water and various other items that you just don't have a extra hand for as you're wheeling around. It's very oversized. Meaning, a bottle of water or soda or a can or a coffee mug is going to move around because of all the extra space. It would be nice if you could adjust the diameter so it would encircle the item that you were putting into the space. Works well so long as whatever you are transporting, if it's liquid, has a lid or a cap.
Doesn't fit standard walker hospital issued
January 7, 2017
This Drive Medical Universal Cup holder would not fit a standard hospital issue walker. This was very disappointing. My daughter broke her ankle and was looking forward to a cup holder. Being determined, she used duct tape and built up around the cross bar in order for it to fit. It is now functional. The cross bar was too small, using the removable insert made it too large. Vertical bars were way too big. Aattaching photo showing the installed cup. It is holding fine even through lifting and placing back on ground.
We bought this to use on a two wheel oxygen tank cylinder cart carrier. It works by attaching it to the handle of the cart.
June 21, 2016
We bought this to use on a two wheel oxygen tank cylinder cart carrier. It works by attaching it to the handle of the cart.My dad is on oxygen full time and I noticed the other day that it was hard for him to hold his cup and maneuver the cart at the same time, so I started searching for something like this to hold his cup. This cup holder was easy to attach to the cart. It seems to be made well. The reason I rated it only 3 stars is because it does not hold the cup very well. It needs to be adjustable to "grab" hold of the cup. This is such a large holder that is will only work well with a very large bottom cup.Overall, this will work for now but we will continue to look for a more suitable holder.
Could be great product, but.....
November 12, 2015
Looks like a suitable cup holder. It fits my father's wheelchair. Problem is the bolt is defective. It was improperly machined and it appears to have been partially threaded on the smooth portion of the bolt shaft. It is too wide in circumference to fit through nut on the cup. It also appears to be a non-standard size. I went to a hardware store w/ an extensive selection of bolts and could only either match bolt head size or thread/shaft circumference but not both.I contacted Drive via online chat, and though service rep finally agreed to send a replacement, he initially suggested I buy one at any hardware store. Now I wait to see if they send a bolt and if it's not defective.Otherwise...could be a great product.
Not quite universal with the parts supplied
December 11, 2014
The mechanism that tightens the cup holder to the walker is deep set and the bolt is short. Therefore, I had to throw away the "star" connection and find another 1/2" nut to fit the bolt in order to secure the cup holder to the walker. I would have expected that the item would have worked as it stated it is universal. I was a little disapointed and frustrated that I had to go out of my way to fit the item to the walker. The cup holder is now secure though, and it is a good size and VERY sturdy.

October 23, 2016
Maybe it's just me but I find it kinda of awkward to use. It's supposed to give a more natural walking gait but I don't find that to be the case. It's supposed to stand on its own, it does as long as the floor is completely clear n level. I think it would be great if the base was just an inch or two wider.
Disappointed!
September 8, 2016
This cane was supposed to be the SUV of canes and I don't like it!! It won't stand up very steadily and that's what I really needed, a cane that would stand next to me when I needed it to! It's light enough, it's just not stable enough for me!
Decent cane, just did not fit my needs.
January 28, 2015
This is the first cane I have used. I have arthritis in my left hip and a cane was recommended to help when walking. What I Liked- It is a decent looking cane with a soft padded handle.- It is adjustable so you can set it to the correct height.- The quad foot makes it easy to stand it up without it falling over.- Affordable. $21 is very reasonable. What I Did Not Like- It did not feel very stable. While the adjustable length is great if you are not sure what size you need, it does make it feel more unstable.- The quad foot is loud and clacky. I don't need the weight support, so the quad foot didn't meet my needs.- It felt heavy. The stated weight is 1.4 pounds, which isn't much but felt heavy when walking. I'm a small framed woman, so this may not be the case for everyone.- The handle hurt my wrist. I found I like a curved handle better. The Hugo Mobility cane gets great reviews and for many it fits their needs very well. It just didn't fit mine.I did end up getting a Sabi Sport Cane in orange. I preferred that cane as it felt more stable, was much lighter (12.8 ounces), had a soft, quiet foot, and was a bright and cheery orange.
Too Heavy for a Quick Getaway, Says Local Grandma
September 25, 2014
I got this for my grandmother when I found out her other cane was on its last, uh, never mind. She was very thankful for the gift. I even saw her use it once. She didn't say so, but I'm sure this cane reaffirmed for her why I am her favorite granddaughter (Just kidding. I'm her favorite grandchild in general). But there was another time, a troubling time...I saw her use an inferior cane in Hugo's presence. You see, my grandma is a special lady, a practical lady. She'll pretty much grab whatever is nearby and make due with it. So, If your grandma is like mine, remove all of her crappy canes from the premises and strategically place these around the house so she'll have no choice but to use them. Then laugh maniacally when the plan works. There may be reasons, however, that your grandma may opt for something a wee bit lighter and less amazing when she's ready to make a move. This cane is not brick on a stick, but a lighter cane may be preferable for simply moving from room to room.Ermm, what else? Ah yes, it stands up on its own! What a time to be alive...Update: I saw my grandma a day after writing this review. She pretty much read my mind and told me that she left the cane I got her at home because it is indeed too heavy. In her words, if she had to get away from someone in a hurry she'd be in trouble...Oh, Grandma. So there you have it. If you're looking for a lighter cane, this isn't it. I'll now be buying my grandma a replacement tip thingie for her lighter cane.Update:I couldn't figure out the size of her cane tip, so I bought a new cane altogether. The price wasn't much more than the cost of what I would have spent on a replacement tip and now I'll know what size to get if need be. Anyway, the new cane is much lighter and I haven't heard any complaints. Here's the link, if anyone is interested - Ez2care Classic Soft Handle Cane with Strap, Black

January 30, 2013
So, I loved this hook. Great for my purse and felt it was secure while shopping. I could also put a couple shopping bags on it no problem and appreciated the swirly hook to keep them on without slipping. I've had it for one year and it just broke. I was under the impression it was all metal, but the inside bracket you don't really see is all plastic. Much like the other reviewers mentioned, I wish that part was metal too. I am contemplating buying another one, but will probably do a little more research. It was great, while it lasted....

Difficult to fold up and get in car as you can't pick it up by the middle bar without pinching your fingers when it folds. Has a knob to pull when you want to unfold the walker and this frequently gets stuck. Worse the walker tends to fall forward when you're trying to pull on the knob. Very poor design if you want to fold it up, put it in your car and go. Also bottom heavy.

April 21, 2017
I tried to go directly to the manufacturer but couldn't. While the product itself looks great, I cant seem to get it to attach and not spin on a three wheeled walker. Sometimes it holds a cup but more often than not, it tips and spills the contents. Very disappointing and hope there is a remedy to make it work. Perhaps if there were two screws it would be more stable? Not sure but disappointing since plastic looked strong and overall looked to be a great product. Please help!
FIRE THE DESIGNER !!
April 2, 2017
Fire the cup designer ! No it does not fit properly on a 1"in tubing....the plastic holding clamp spreads out further even without the rubber insert when installing/snapping it on a 1"in tubing...which results in the locking bolt to be 4-5 threads too short for the knob to get started on the bolt...then to top off this issue... a short metal thread inside the knob slides in and out like a piston...good luck in trying to get that starred on the undersize bolt ! I ended up installing a proper length size bolt with a butterfly nut to lock up the cup to my walker...If you buy this product..be prepare to do some modifications !!...There is only one possible reason for this trouble...A defective bolt that was cut too short during the manufacturing process.
You have to want to make this work.
October 3, 2016
A bunch of problems with this particular item. First, if you have arthritis, do NOT try to install this as it will hurt. The U clamp is a thick plastic and needs to be manipulated over the tube of the wheelchair. MIne is a medline and it took about five minutes to successfully wiggle it over the steel rod. Next, we have the bolt that holds the cup to the U clamp. It is woefully short and took a lot of force to get it to connect with the knob. Okay, so far, so mediocre. Now this thing is in place. Sort of. I got a plastic cup and filled it with water. As soon as it was placed in the holder, the holder began to pivot on the bolt. I tried tightening it some, but no good. I will have to get a rubber washer to solve this problem...something you think the manufacturer would have considered during the design phase. On the plus side, it did hold the cup without sliding on the tube. Personally, I would avoid this product, but if you have no issues with after market modification, then this will do the trick. One thing I have to add, the holder says Drive, and it's going to hold a drink...drink and drive. At least these guys have a sense of humor about their work.
Instalation problems
June 27, 2013
While this cup holder certainly appears to be just what I need on my Rollator Walker, I have yet to successfully install it. I have consulted numerous people with greater strength in their hands than I possess, and no one has been able to get the holder secured tightly enough to maintain the level angle necessary for successful use. This is very frustrating as the holder appears to be exactly what I wanted and need. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Until then, he holder remains on my walker swinging and tilting according to the level on which I walk. Bummer!
Just OK
October 15, 2011
The cup holder works as advertised but was very hard to install. The holder does come with rubber inserts to install inside the clamp to make any diameter difference between the clamp and the chair tubing. The tightening knob can be hard to reach and is difficult to turn. Without a rubber insert, the clamp would not tighten near enough to keep the holder in position. When I installed the smallest rubber insert, the tightening screw threads would not reach the nut needed to tighten. I had to use numerous pliers to tighten the clamp enough for the screw to catch the nut. It was VERY DIFFICULT TO INSTALL AND MOST PEOPLE WOULD NOT BE SUCCESSFUL. However, once in place, it did work well on our trip to Yellowstone.

Rubber quadpod broke.
January 7, 2017
Unfortunately the quadpod broke after a few months usage. My father is 191 pounds, well under the 300 pound limit. Perhaps the metal is rated to 300 pounds, but the rubber quadpod is not. The metal pole went right through. He can still use it as a regular cane, not what I had in mind when it was purchased.
It's just a cane ,that stands up.
April 11, 2015
Well it's a cane nothing more with four small cups that allow it to stand up .What you give up is ,it's heavier than an ordinary cane .Does it give you more stability ,I would say hardly ,because now you have to be careful you don't catch your shoe on the wider bottom .I will say it surpasses the Hurrycane which I returned ,which also did not do anything except stand up on it's own.Hardly worth double the price of a regular cane .I now have 3 canes .Two I will keep in the car ,the Hugo I will use around the house .The price is great and that's ok ,but don't buy this as a great miracle that will make your life easier ,it won't .Remember it's just a cane .4/12/2015After 2 days I'm returning it .A cane is supposed to give you stability ,this cane does not .First I almost tripped on the extruding bottom ,so easy to catch your toe .This happened twice .On walking up an incline (this is where it let me down )the bottom was not firmly touching the ground and started to slip .I guess the aforementioned Hurrycane realized that and made the bottom part of the cane to bend .That compensates for the incline ,Hugo does not .Stick to the many sturdy canes out there ,if you want to stand it up (a gimmick) hook the head onto a chair or counter instead ,you will be safer.

I Don't Recommend This Hook
January 26, 2014
The Jumbo Swirly Hook broke after my first time using it. Get the Think King Mighty Buggy Hook for Stroller, Wheelchair, Rollator, Walker, 2 Pack instead. I have happily used the Mighty Buggy Hooks for nearly five years without any issues. They are of a much better quality than the Swirly Hook.
Does not work with my stroller
August 4, 2013
This hook only works with certain purses, depending on how the strap on the purse is. I cannot use it with several of my purses which only have one strap because it hangs in such a way that I keep constantly bumping into my purse, super annoying. I also don't think it would work for grocery bags for the same reason and hanging anything really heavy on the push bar makes most strollers too heavy in the back and they tip over. Not safe. I've found a use for it: I hang my doggie you-know-what bag on it until I get to a trash can. I would not buy this again.

Size would perhaps be good for a child. Wheels are only 14 inches apart, making it impossible to walk with both right and left feet inside the wheels.Regular 2 wheel walker has 20 inches between uprights. Seat is only 12 x 14 inches. Good luck if you have a normal size butt.

I was shocked and almost severely injured last night when the wheel portion of this walker separated from the rest of the "leg" and fell off while I was walking through my kitchen. Luckily, I could grab a counter to stop myslf from falling on the hard tile floor. I have had over five rollators in the past few years, and this was certainly a new and very unpleasant experience; this was my first AND LAST Hugo. Frightening. I am quite slim, about 125 lbs, so weigh bearing is not the culprit! Furthermore, I bought this product end April, do not travelwith it (thank goodness), so it is not overburdened with use. The one thing I did like was the adjustable seat, but I am sure there are others with that feature, hopefully safer and more reliable.

Unhappy Buyer

Disappointed with purchase. Instructions were very poor - at least for me. Not very easy to assemble. Walker was advertised as "adjustable height" but I couldn't figure out how to adjust it with the instructions provided. Seat does not provide sufficient depth for comfortable seating. Overall, cannot recommend and would discourage anyone from buying this walker.

VERY DISAPPOINTED

I bought this for my Drive Medical Rollator walker as the description showed it would fit both my Rollator walker and my Drive Medical Wheelchair. I tried various areas on my Drive Medical Rollator which I use the most and could not get it to fit properly anywhere. I ordered this one in particular because I have all Drve Medical Products; however, my first attempt to use it ended up with coffee spilled all over the floor as it is way too tipsy and if I put the added rubber pieces in I can't get the bolt all the way through. I must say I was very disappointed with this purchase from Drive Medical as I have always been extremely pleased with their other products. I guess I will now see if there is any way it will work in my wheelchair; however, due to the tipsiness of this I am not sure I even trust it on my wheelchair. Sorry Drive Medical. I do love your products as a general rule but this one is very poorly constructed and really of no use.
CANNOT INSTALL THIS???
September 20, 2016
I purchased this item the end of July but only just opened it now almost two months later to put on my moms rollator and find that there is no screw AND I also have a part that that I cannot identify in the installation instructions??? I cannot figure out from the instructions how or where this should be installed AND I have no screw to try to "easily" install this.
Won't fit without jury rig.

Don't know why I didn't look at the reviews before buying this "Universal" Cup Holder. I had the same problem that a lot of others did: the U Clamp is way to small for the tubing on the walker. The bolt isn't long enough, and the knob won't reach far enough to come close to the short bolt. I had some metric nuts and bolts in the garage so I got it on OK. Why a company makes this garbage and advertises it as "Universal" is beyond me.
No more spills. UPDATE Sept 28th
August 23, 2016
I got this for my Mom's 3 wheeler walker, as she is always stumbling out to the kitchen with one hand on the walker and one holding a coffee cup. She is a disaster waiting to happen. I attached the cup and she loves it! She can put the walker in and out of the car herself and we just made sure it was on the right side for putting in the car. She also is now starting to use it for other small things like her keys when she goes to check the mail and her glasses so she does not have to bend way down into the pouch to get little stuff. But mostly she has stopped spilling coffee!Update: September 28 - Getting out of the car last night it broke, as in like cheap plastic and it left a very sharp edge. Luckily I was with my Mom because she would not have been able to take the cup holder off her walker by herself and the very sharp edge made a dangerous situation. The cup holder was not easy to put on or take off she could not do it without me and she could not use enough force to break the cup holder by herself taking it out of the car. She had it for just over a month and as cheap as it was I am still mad that I have to purchase a new one, a better on made of metal perhaps. The plastic is really cheap and dangerous when it cracks and breaks.
Very disappointing!

I was very disappointed with this item. I purchased a drive walker for my mother after she broke her ankle ( which we are thrilled with) and expected that the drive universal cup holder would easily fit on the walker. Needless to say it did not! The screw cap used attach to the walker had threads inside that wouldn't catch. I had to attach to the backrest in order to get the threads to catch, but then when placing a cup in it, it would rotate and spill. This was actually the second cup holder ordered, the first had a missing piece. Even sadder that it cost more to return than it costs!
Factory~ installed, maybe?

I purchased this Drive cupholder because I have a Drive walker. My mistake to think this would ensure a good fit. My husband has tried various methods to install this, to no avail. He is now considering getting extra parts from the hardware store. SO I'm still without the ability to independently move to my car with a travel mug. Drive needs to go beyond the engineering phase of this product and try to install one on their Drive walkers! Looks good, but unusable.

Very unhappy customer
September 20, 2017
I bought this item about a year and half ago. It worked fine. the handle split after wear and tear. So I order a new one. after two weeks the bottom of the new one separated. No problem I return for an exchange got another. After two weeks the bottom on this one also separated. So what am I to do. I took the bottom from the old cane the first one I bought some years ago and put the top of the new cane on the old bottom. So far so good. The quality of this cane has declined while the price of the cane went up. I feel cheated. If I send it back the same thing will happen. I have to fined a new brand.VERY UNHAPPY CUSTOMER

We bought this for my mother to use after she broke her hip this particular Cane is way too wobbly
Very disappointing.

Very disappointing. I purchased this cane five months ago, and the "quad" foot has broken away and left just the center rubber cap. It felt very stable before that happened and now it's wobbly. The return period was extremely short and now I am stuck paying for a replacement.

September 8, 2013
Have ordered four of these clips in last several months. Two of which were replacements. At first thought we may have abused the clip to have caused it to break, but after the second break this weekend, there seems to be a weakness in the plastic that holds theclip together and which does not seem to be repairable. Unfortunately by the time the plastic buckle breaks, we are outside of our Amazon.com return window.
