Works well. I use the bits with the doughnuts and a skeetervac. Using all three really does the trick. I can enjoy the back yard.

I was having mosquito problems in our backyard. I have a cascading river like pond with rocks all around the trim and inside the pond. The water flows but at some parts there seems to be standing water. I put a few Bits in and it made a difference. Less mosquitoes and it did no harm to my Koi fish.

The running joke in my state in the summer is that the mosquito is the state bird. If you have standing water and live where there's mosquitos you should try this. I've used their Dunks the past few years and I'm not swarmed by mosquitos when I step outside. I'm confident this style will be just as effective and easier to apply. Just remember to reapply after a rain.

I don't have any standing water but what I do have is potted plants out on my patio. They're well drained and they are elevated up off the concrete but I still get mosquitoes and this stuff does the trick. I just sprinkle some on top of the potted plants and the mosquitoes disappear within 24 hours. I treat every month from May to October to keep them at bay.

I've only used two mosquito products for pools, ponds, water barrels or bird baths that are environmentally safe. One is Mosquito Dunks, and the other is Mosquito Torpedo. Both are very effective, especially during West Nile Virus season. The Dunks are bits, while the torpedos are thumb-size, coming six to a pack. You definitely get more bang for the buck with the dunks, although both perform the same and I have nothing bad to say about either. The one other thing in the Dunks' favor is for use in bird baths or small water containers where an entire torpedo would simply be too big and a waste of money. I guess you could cut them up. But the Mosquito Dunks did exactly what they said they would do, and did it safely and economically. Neither product harmed my fish nor the birds, or any other animal or plant life (except mosquitos). While neither product is particularly inexpensive, being able to buy Mosquito Dunks on Amazon was a money-saver, even with the shipping cost, and I will continue to purchase them.

You can get picked up and carried away by the mosquitoes on my property. THEY GET BAD! But we have a 1/2 acre fish pond so I thought it was just going to be a fact of life. Ponds = blood suckers in the summer.UNTIL we found this stuff.I sprinkled some in the pond and started noticing within a few days that mosquitoes couldnt pick up and carry off the dog anymore... after a week, they are almost gone. Sure theres the occasional one or two buzzing around sticking their tongues out at us as they fly by... but I can actually go out and enjoy my garden for a change without taking a bath in DEET first.Very Very VERY pleased with this stuff and I will be buying more every season.Now maybe my neighbors will talk to me and stop contemplating bulldozing my pond over when Im out of town! Ha!To those that put a little around their yard and still find mosquitoes in their face, Im going to suggest that you are not finding the source of where they are coming from. This stuff isnt a "magic force field"...06/01/2013 UPDATE: I still use Mosquito Bits every season and Im STILL VERY VERY pleased with this product. My garden has proudly been certified a National Wildlife Habitat and every life form that uses my pond THRIVES. I allow my dog to drink from the pond with no worries. He has never shown any effect whatsoever. The fish, frogs, tadpoles, raccoons, squirrels, bunnies make their home here and all are welcome... except for the mosquitos. ;0)03/18/2016 UPDATE:Not one season has gone by without using these marvellous little mosquito bits. They really do make a difference. It's the difference of wearing shorts and tank to water my flowers or a full length space suit drenched in citronella. I still might end the day with a bite. But that's far from calling this product a failure by any means. Patience and due diligence, dear reader. You must put forth effort to gain effective results.I have found they need to be sprinkled every 6-8 weeks maybe less, maybe more depending on the weather. Wet weather brings more puddles in the yard so I don't always catch them in time and let's face it, you'll never get every single mosquito unless you have a nuclear bomb handy. But last year I procrastinated and was late with my fist spring pond sprinkle. Yi yi yi! lesson learned! I'm not going to let that happen this year. I saw my fist one today already. We had a mild winter and there's no doubt they'll be out early and extra thick this year.Again I will mention, if you still see a few mosquitos, that's going to happen no matter what you do... unless you plan to back a dump truck of mosquito bits up to your pond. That would be expensive. Don't do that. Just be diligent, use common sense and toss out a few sprinkles every few weeks. I generally go thru 2 bottles each season (when not extremely wet) and only one bottle a few summers ago when it was so dry. If they still bother you then turn to your neighbor's yard and see if you see any possible standing water.My faithful dog is still for paws on the ground and lapping it up on warm summer days and he's as healthy as a horse. I added a few pet store goldfish a few summers ago and two of them are as big as my forearm. I have bullfrogs that can wake the dead with their evening rawp and I have the damn squirrels that chewed through my internet cable and caused me a bunch of headache. Raccoons are in my trash, the rabbits are teasing the dog with their speed he no longer possess and I have these crawfish digging weird holes on the pond banks. And I wouldn't have it any other way.

Porch patrol is my main wish. We sit on our porch at night until bedtime. Catches many bugs, but the occasional gnat gets through. I know because I am allergic to gnat bites. They really Itch! Makes a lovely romantic glow without the glare of a bulb or outdoor light. Easy to empty and install--just plug in.

Does trap those little flying critters that come into the home on fruit and other produce. Works great, especially over night. Device is designed so that the insects can remain trapped after the power is turned off. Wait for them to die before emptying or deal with them your own favorite way.

Doubtful it would work as advertised, but it does. We use it on small patio area, 300 sq ft, away from sitting area and hidden from back yard creek/pond that attracts lots of bugs, mesqitoes etc. I don't want to attract mosquitoes from the pond late afternoon evening, so I have it hidden from sight but lure them once they get close to the patio. Attracts them by UV light, and CO2 generation.Caution - this is not plug in and forget. You must clean trap weekly or bi-monthlyCaution - if fan stops working, you probably have a large bug (June bug etc) wedged between blade and housing. Unscrew trap, empty trap, rotate fan blade until large bug is discharged.Works like brand new.

Living in south Florida, we have LOTS of mosquitoes. This little machine attracts them and does away with them. It has worked well in our home but you have to have the lights off for it to work best. We had so many, it took a while to eliminate them but now we are free of the little vampires and I have no more bites. YEA! Mine is about a year old and still working fine. I order a second for our granddaughter and the cord did not work. I contacted the company and they very nicely and promptly replaced it in quick order. Was great to have a customer service that made me smile! THANKS DYNATRAP!

Oh man this thing works!!!! Now I'm not in the jungle or swampland infested with bugs, in CA where if you hold the front door open to long enough , you might get a skeeter in your room to harass YOU and not your wife all night long!!!!!! So I was fed up and got this lamp. I would also go into the garage at night and turn on the light and always see mosquitos or moths flying around. I hung this lamp at the entrance to the garage door that leads to the front yard and 8ft from the front door of the house. It has been on 24-7 for the last month or so. Haven't had a mosquito in the house and none in the garage. I figured if I hung it in a 10ft sq radius of the front door and at the entrance of the garage I might solve this issue. It has worked so far. It's gathering plenty of bugs in the storage area of the lamp where they dry up and die a slow, hopefully painful death.Don't make the mistake in opening it up to see if there in there only to watch the bugs fly away. Lol, just let them die. The lamp does a great job!!!!!!

First; cheap for small area, product concept; excellent. Bad reviews probably due to buyer not opening the top part of the equipment ; the instructions are not clear that the opaque white segments have to be opened in order for the unit to suck the victims in. I had the same bad results when I first used it. I'm in Paia Maui with several species of mosquitos...unit attracts all of them with out attractant....an attractant would probably attract even more.....anyway see pix of 24 hour operation....aloha g

These actually worked. I didn't think they would but for the price I thought why not try it. Pleasantly surprised. Used it in my pond and several plant pots. Plenty left for next year

I tied some into cheesecloth to put into fountain and it works great.

I don't know why but every summer I'm plagued with mosquitoes coming from my potted plants - and here in AZ mosquitoes are pretty rare. The Mosquito Bits are great - I sprinkle a little in my potted plants and the big house planter out front every 3 weeks or so and problem solved!

Dissolved very quickly and worked as it should. The only problem is the packaging - it has a shaker lid but you can't really shake it and get the product to come out evenly - or even at all - as the pieces are irregular shaped and sized. This is a small complaint, though, compared to the complaining we would be doing if overrun with mosquitoes.

We keep a couple of watering holes on the property for the wildlife and use this to keep the mosquitos down. I can tell it's working because when I don't use it for a while I see the little black mosquito larvae swimming around, and then I use this and come back the next day, they are gone.To use, just sprinkle enough to loosely cover the surface of the water.

Have a rocky coastal property in the Pacific North West with lots puddles after a rainy spring. Used Mosquito bits for the little ones and dunks for the big ones starting in late March. There definitely seems to be an improvement in the number of mosquitoes this year compared with last. They haven't been eliminated completely but I can sit outside at sunset with a little bug spray and enjoy the sights which wasn't the case the year before. Could the weather be the reason? Possibly. Will continue with it and try again next year. For now at least, I'm happy with this product. Oh, and I have a dog who seems to suffer no ill effects from drinking puddles with Mosquito bits.

Even with a yellow bulb my porch light attracts a swarm of moths, and every time I open the door to let the dog out and in, they come inside. My house was starting to look like something out of a horror movie. So I get this little trap and set it up on my kitchen counter, shut off the lights and go into the living room to watch TV. For the next half hour I hear.. tink tink tink tunk tink tunk coming from the kitchen. I go in to check and when look through the screen of the base there were 15-20 of those gross buggers in there. YAH!!

Works great inside. First night I used it at my camp it caught 4 miggies (black flies) and 3 mosquitoes. Only four stars because the power supply gets a little too warm for my comfort.

I put this in my garage. I put it between my overhead shop lights. It has collected many flying bugs, but for my application I think it would do much better if it were the only light source in my garage. Other then that, great bug catcher!!!

Mine caught mostly moths, but it caught a decent number of mosquitoes as well.Just make sure you clean it out before it gets too full, or the motor will burn out.

Works great for catching those annoying little mosquitoes that swarm all over here in the Philippines. I leave it on all night in the center of my living room, making sure to turn off all other light sources around it. Catches around 10+ mosquitoes so I have to clean it every morning.

Very easy to set up and does seem to attract insects. I have not had the same luck as other reviewers and probably only catch between 3-4 bugs a night. So far no mosquitoes which is what I really wanted to catch, mainly moths and small fruit flies. I guess I'm just a much better attractant for the mosquitos than this little lamp. Damn.The vacuum is very quiet and I have no problem keeping it in my room while I'm sleeping. I also like that I can let the bugs go outside when my conscience gets the better of me. :)

Not really sure how effective it was for the gnats - still had them, but perhaps less??? Might work well for mosquitos.

I guess I expected fast results since the mosquitos have been very bad where we live because we didn't have a cold winter. The mosquitos have run us out of the yard and flower beds this year.

I guess I will see if I continue to get destroyed my mosquitoes when I go outside in my backyard.

Seems to be working to cut population of mosquitos although a bit early to really tell. I have used it in both wet and damp/turf areas as well as in standing water locations. Will be watching to see how long the bits will curtail growth. Do not want to be spreading it over entire property every week.

I had sitting water areas but not a pool, lake, fountain or bird bath. So I used it as extra reinforcement with the Mosquito barrier for the grass, Not so sure it had an effect. I would say to use only if you have the other things mentioned.

This product works great in controlling mosquito larvae, Another tool in my aggressive campaign in vector control. However, this is not a long last product, so you have to continually treat if you have standing water, or use the Dunks instead.

Purchased this for inside use and to test out their products before purchasing the larger acre size. I put a piece of yellow bug paper in the bottom to prevent the smaller gnats and fruit flies from escaping. They do fit right through the mesh holes. So far it has been great, capturing all sorts of insects, including numerous mosquitoes. Why the 3 stars, well the power adaper that plugs into the wall socket gets very hot, to the point of smelling like burnt rubber. This causes the fan to slow, than speed back up, and I mean very slow, no suction produced. If I unplug and let cool, it works fine for hours. Also after extended use, the fan begins to loudly vibrate, much louder than normal. Will be contacting the company and hope they honor their warranty. Will update my review if I hear anything back.

Maybe my inside mosquitoes are just too smart for it or are uninterested. Tried it for a week inside, didn't catch a single bug. It seems well made though.

Up to right now, it has caught, nothing. Don't know if there is something wrong with it, or if there is not much to catch.

It's the baby sized one, so I can't be TOO upset, but I don't have as many dead insects chilling in there like I thought.

I am giving this trap a 3 star because the only thing it really catches are moths I keep in my garage to collect bugs at night that fly in during the day. I have not seen a mosquito yet...........great moth trap so they don't get into my house.

not sure I'm seeing much of a difference. I bought this to put between the bricks in the patio and the bases of the flower pots. They don't dissolve the way crumbled up Mosquito Dunks do. not sure - but I'll keep watching through the summer.

Does not do the job on gnats. It may work for standing water, but not as a yard cover for gnats.

never had good results with mosquito dunks or mosquito bits . I tried in ditches and low areas on farm. might be practical for a homeowner, did not work on large scale

I'm not convinced these did anything. Next time, I'll use real chemicals to take care of the mosquitoes.

I have several fountains and wanted to prevent mosquitos. The product works but prevents my fountains to work properly. I went back to the pucks

This product does not strongly attract bugs. I had placed this in the room with some fly that were coming off the plants. It's been a month and I keep seeing flies around. I don't think this is really capturing them.

I wanted to use this outside on my deck. But the light attracts more bugs than it can handle. It's probably fine if you need to get rid of bugs inside. But who has that many bugs inside?

No customer support actually... Product worked as advertised, but stopped working after a couple months. Used the "contact us" function on their website multiple times, but the will not respond to assist.

I had such high hopes for this trap for my mosquito and moth problem. However, I watch bugs fly right by without a second glance. I do believe that a handful of bugs have been trapped; however, the base is so shoddily made that when I try to move the trap, the bottom falls out as do the dead bugs.Not worth your money.

We got it for mosquitos on our deck. Thete hasn't been much caught by it at all. Even when left on all day/ night. I probably should have just got the zapping kind. This IS quiet though.We live in the pacific northwest.

I live in a mosquito infested humid climate where any half decent product should have no problem catching mosquitoes. I ran this product 24 hours a day for a week straight and caught maybe 10 small moths but no mosquitoes. Don't waste your time and electricity on this product.

Used it for a month. No results. I live in FL and mosquitos got into my home and bred in my house plants. I had to buy indoor bug zappers to control it. I bought this to kill the eggs. No success. My zapper was killing infant mostquits by the 40's daily. This did not stop the hatching at all. I tried a little to a lot and even waited weeks. I dumped out the water trays and added this dried, before watering my plants, the mostquitos came back! I ended up having to put all my house plants outside. Now I'm mosquito free :(

This product does not work. I put this in the area of my yard where there always are mosquitos and after a month I still have so many mosquitos. It's better to call an exterminator for mosquito treatment than to get this product.

Unfortunately I didnt see any improvement using this after weeks if use.

Used as instructed and really saw no discernible decrease in mosquitoes. Would not recommend and would not purchase again.

Did nothing to stop the mosquitoes in my pond.

When it get wet it smells bad, It didn't work for me.. and it destroyed all my yard I only have bad grass now.

Havent caught a thing with it yet. Mesh to loose in container and they fly back out through the holes. I want to return it but I am afraid I will get cut off from Amazon.

We bought it on June and tried for a month. It didn't catch any mosquitos. So we thought maybe it was just bad luck. Than we decided to try another month. Still didn't kill any mosquitos. Very disappointed with the product! Wrote to the customer service and they said the warranty is only for one month so we can't return it.

waste of money, I've had this for 3mos and it only killed 4 mosquitos...

Really liked this is seemed to work well but 2 months from purchase the fan started making a strange noise and smell like the bearing in it failed. immediately unplugged not about to use it again.

It works well for moths and some flies. I bought this for the mosquitoes and it might catch maybe one mosquito for every hundred moths. My backyard is infested with mosquitoes, so I definitely would say it's ineffective on mosquitoes, but fine for moths. Update: died after 2 months. Not worth buying

the light stopped working after a few uses. (8 hour nights)didn't catch a single mosquito when it was working.
