Perfect for my Beginning Algebra class and future University math classes. Seems to work as well as the Texas Instruments calculators but for a much better price. Not sure why schools always had us go with the more expensive option but so far so good with this one. Its pretty easy to learn and will save your butt if you're as bad at math as I am or used to be before this calculator that is....

I bought this three years ago when my daughter's high school teacher said she needed a calculator. Money was (and remains) tight, and the reviews seemed to indicate that this would work. For the first two years, my daughter's needs weren't that significant, and frankly, almost any scientific calculator would have done the trick. But her final year of high school featured Honors Statistics, a course that the teacher told us, in no uncertain terms, was college-level in its difficulty.Our daughter was one of two folks in the class without a TI calculator. We thought this would be a problem, as the complex functions she was required to do could be even more difficult if she had to spend time figuring out how to do each one (and not being able to ask the teacher for help).She finished the year with an A in each of her four terms. She got an A+ on her mid-term and her final exams. By the second semester, her teacher had bought one of these suckers and was using it and recommending it to the department head. According to both of them, doing almost all of the functions is much simpler on the Casio.Folks, I suck at math. I can't tell you the differences between the graphs on the two devices or anything like that. But I can tell you that this got my daughter through a tough-as-nails course, and did it with about a tenth of the frustration the TI folks in the class felt (and at about half the cost). There may be something the more expensive device can do that this one can't, but it never came up during my daughter's time in high school.

The Casio fx-9860Gll Calculator is in the space age. They supply on line catalogs, teaching materials and all we need. It is reaslly easy to learn using the step by step instructions. I provides advanced physics calculation capacity. It's great.

This is the best calculator ever! I'm not even exaggerating, if you wanted to you could put games in it. It is a bit tricky to use at first, but once you get the hang of it it will be the best thing that ever happened to you. I used this one for IB, and there are tons of tools I am yet to use, so I'm sure you could do anything with it

This calculator is amazing! This is the easiest graphic calculator I could use (TI83, HP50G, ..). Soon, you can learn almost all the options menus. The results are obtained with few steps! This is a good starter graphing calculator for the price. I picked it up for use in my calculus 2 course (integral calculus) and it has had all the functions I have needed in class. It is programmable, so as such, instructors might not allow it on tests...check with your professor first!Like any unit of its type, it will take some time to get used to the menu hierarchy; and be aware that the manual is written for a group of graphing calculator models-so procedures described within the manual might be slightly different from how they are performed on this particular model.That said, I like this model and would certainly recommend it to others.

Worth the price.

It is a bit different than my son was used to, but once he figured It out, he loved it. He still occasionally has a bit of trouble, since the functions are different than what the rest of the class uses, but his teacher is able to figure out and assist. After he lost the last two calculators (super expensive) I was very happy to find this one.

Compared to other calculators that do graphing functions, this one is top of the charts. It was easy to use, and cost 50% less than the leading brands.

This a great calculator for the money, it does everything the ti-84 does and then some. The only thing I can say bad about it is there isn't a great place to download programs for it.

Great G-Calculator for those in the Physics and Math world as it offers many ways to go about homework. Currently i'm using this in both my Physics and Calculus classes and have achieved better than average scores. I prefer Casio natural textbook display as I can easily replicate any equation in textbooks and save them for later. This allows me to review any blank or empty-minded areas and anyone who wants this Calculator I most certainly recommend it if you prefer a natural display over TI"s Linear display

Does it's job after you do a ton of study to figure out how to use it. TI calculators are much more user friendly.

I purchased this for my Grandson who is a Jr. in high school. The problem he is having is this not the one used in his classroom and the teacher does not spend time trying to teach this calculator. I found some tutorials on You Tube that will hopefully help him. This is a good price and does what it is supposed to do if you can figure out how.

My daughter is doing college Algebra. She said you have to research how to use it.

Great price but had to return since my son who is in college is used to the Texas Instrument calculator. Replaced this with Texas Instruments TI-84 Plus Graphics Calculator.

I like Casio calculators but this onerequires much practice and many notes to use effectively, in comparisonto non-graphic cousins.Needs more detailed documentation and examples to be utilized quickly.

It wasn't the model her teacher recommended, but she's using it just fine and will be taking the NYS Regents exam this June

Thought this would be a good alternative to my regular calculator. My calc professor will let us use a graphing calculator on exams. Much to my dismay, this calculator is incapable of displaying exact values, unlike my MUCH cheaper non-graphing Casio calculator. Pretty ridiculous that I would actually have to bring 2 calculators to an exam to get full-functionality. Turns out you have to pay an additional $60 for the next model up to get a feature that my $17 calculator has. Very disappointing, and I will be returning and looking for an alternative.

There's no 2D Mode. This means no exact answer in equation menu ( i.e : x² =2 will give you 1.414... and not sqrt(2). Not really a problem in this case but clearly not ideal when trying to solve 4x^3 + 12x^2 + 27x + 39 = 0 ). Besides CASIO has blocked the OS-flashing that was possible on all previous versions, making this clearly not as versatile as before. A few years back, every casio calculator from the FX-92 had this 2D display and I was led to believe this one did also. It seems you have to get the "Power Graphics 2" model to have it.

i can't do mush of my math work with it ..like pre-calculors and and calculor it works more for masic math but i wanted something for advanced math.

It's a sad day when you say that a TI is easier to operate. I suppose if you want to go through five menus back and forth to get to one thing and then the other, you're going to be ok with this. Otherwise, after a week, I got so fed up that I invested into a TI. This one is going to a good will. Someone will put it to good use and enjoy it, but it won't be me. t's not a badly built machine. It is not flimsy or overly bulky, it's not glitchy or defective in any way shape of form. It's just counter-intuitive and maybe gets you somewhere you need to be through some back alley way. I don't have time for this. I took away stars not for the quality of a built, but for it's pain in the rear end operation.

Right out of the box, this calculator would not show the Main Menu. When I flip it over and press the RESTART button, as the manual says to do, still nothing. I have spent hours on the phone with Casio customer service and no one can figure it out. Out of convenience, I will be returning this product to Amazon. If this calculator wasn't required for my child's school, I would not purchase again.

Just what my sophomore Granddaughter needed and at a good price.

I'm not sure if the product is authentic because the buttons feel like they're about to fall off. Othe other hand, the graphing calculator still does its job.

I have problems with the calculator. It is damaged.

It was not the correct calculator and we have to purchase another one. Description matched what the teacher requested but went when my child took to school.

If you want this to do matrix calculations don't buy it! it doesn't have the function. From the first moment some buttons stopped working!

This is a really bad graphing calculator for your money. I ordered it to replace my "old"version of this same calculator and it turns out this is even more ancient. The screen is literally like one pixel and I can't see anything

Do not buy!!For starters, the F1 and F2 buttons are inverted on my calculator, F1 will press F2 and vice versa. But then, the calculator just stopped graphing. Anything. Not a line, parabola, anything.I do not recommend this calculator. Absolute trash. Just spend the $50 extra dollars for the TI 84 Plus.

Piece of crap. Didn't work for even 2 days and my daughter borrowed someone else's and didn't tell me that it doesn't work so I can't return it now and have to buy a new one.

this product was very hard to guide. the instructions was very bad!!!

I bought this calculator and it worked great for about five minutes. After that the - / and = keys will randomly stop working and you have to wait absurd amounts of time for it to start working again

Very hard to unpackage. DOES NOT have a CD or instruction manual. How am I supposed to learn the calculator. I am very seriously considering returning it for a refund. I own other Casio and TI calculators but this one is the worst. Buyer beware!

the team came here to Venezuela and the next day you turn it on half of the keys does not work send it for service of the casio here in Venezuela and no guarantee as are charging me the amount of $ 220 to repair the bone much more what cost me.

I live in another country (Ecuador) so I bought it and sent it to my P.O. boxit took a long time to come (as usual) and when I opened it and put the batteries on it, I tried to turn it on but on the screen there were nothing but just lines and then nothing, it didn't work at all, there wasn't anything on the screen.I talked to the technical service in my country and they asked me my calculator, and when they returned it to me, it continued having the same problem and they made me pay $15.I think it came damaged from factory, but now I couldn't do anything. :(
