Five Star Reviews: | 73% Perfect May 29, 2017 These are perfect for small plants. They have a lot of drainage holes so it is possible that some dirt/water could spill out but other than that, they're nice sturdy little pots. I would definitely buy them again and recommend them to anyone. Good value for seed starting pots March 17, 2017 I don't see any reason to give these less than five stars. This is my first purchase of these and they seem to be a very good value. They are pleanty strong to use as seed starting pots. I placed a 1" thick catalog on top of one pot and it held fine without any distortion. sturdy and cheap March 21, 2016 I've gone "whole hog" with the gardening thing. I bought some LED grow lights and mylar sheets and heat mats for my "grow room." My kids HATE when I call it that, so I call it my GROW ROOM at every opportunity! For the record, I'm starting flowers and veggies indoors to save money on the ridiculous amount of flowers I've been buying each summer (gotta put annuals in my 22 flower pots). Anyway, I digress. These little pots are very sturdy and cheap, making them great "starter homes" for my little seedlings after they graduate from their peat pot nursery. Because I've been incredibly lucky, I have way more viable plants than I ever thought possible, so cheap is especially good. The pots nest tightly, taking up very little space. They seem to be sturdy enough to be top-rack dishwasher safe, so I anticipate being able to use them year after year (but I still need to order more...again, I'm experiencing some incredible beginner's luck). just right with plenty of drainage for starting your seed/cuttings(hints for saving and use) May 17, 2015 They do have some great drainage for what ever you use for your seed or with your cuttings plus they will come in handy this late summer early fall for you poinsettia cutitings and mum cuttings to sprout(hint on how to keep water later).hey are just about the size a person needs for flowers that would be going out in mid May or earlier depending on your frost zone time line,,mine is mid May so I try to get mine ready by that time and hope there isn't a lot of hard rain at that time since it does come down hard where I live in Ky,but you have to water and we have had some good rain early the past 4 years and this 1 has not been exempt from that time.If you get your plants up and hardy by moving them in and out during the rain/sun peiods then they will be ready for the ground in no time with these pots since they have great drainage and they can be placed in trays without drainage and then just pour off the extra water(I use a 2foot by 16inch wide by 4inch depth box with holes cut so the pots fit snug with a kitty litter linner split placed in the box(for cuttings use a 16oz clear pastic Dixie drinking cup to cover your cuttings, works great) for my way to save and it takes alittle time to cut the holes but at least I found a use for the boxes that are saved for other reasons. You can find many ways to save if you just use your imagination....The pots are re-usable and if you wish you can sell it along with your cuttings... | 62% These fit perfectly into the Hydrofarm Germination Station March 25, 2017 These fit perfectly into the Hydrofarm Germination Station and it makes it A LOT easier to germinate different types of seeds that will sprout at different times. I had squash and thyme sprout in 4 days and I will be able to take those out of the humidity while the others continue to germinate. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B000HHO1RO/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o07_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1 Great for the Price, I Ordered More February 13, 2017 These were great for the price, and while it was not exactly what I was looking for, I will be able to use them to start my seeds and, as is my wont, will re-pot twice to the appropriate size (24-oz. Solo cup) for sale for the Master Gardener plant sale. I am excited to find a source for tiny cells. The plant labels are superfluous, and did not influence my purchase. I will give those away. Once I got these (and they came very quickly), I immediately ordered more. Will buy again. December 17, 2015 Works great for my little plumeria seeds. Just the right size for small seeds and/or cuttings. Great price for as many trays as I got . I will be buying these again! March 3, 2015 These are great and arrived quickly and exactly as expected. I have only been gardening for 6 years, but I believe I have tried just about every starter tray kit on the market, and these are just so much more economical than buying those sets. I think they give you plenty of room to get your plants going, and yes, you will need to move some plants (tomatoes, peppers, etc) to larger containers, but these are great for starting seeds. I am surprised at the quality of the plastic. Seems to be more sturdy than some I have left over from last year from my local market. These fit perfectly in the trays that I saved from the sets I bought last year at Walmart.I will be buying these again! Great for starting my seeds. April 24, 2014 I wish they would send enough markers for the number of trays. They are a nice size and I would recommend them. I got them to plant tomato and pepper seeds to take to market and wanted to use new trays. The price was much better on here than at the local Home Depot or other stores. Great Starter Trays April 8, 2014 These trays are great for starting your seedling. I used them this year to start 15-16 different types of vegetables for my garden. All are doing really well so far! | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
Four Star Reviews: | 16% Perfect size for indoor starts before planting in the garden June 22, 2017 These 4" pots are exactly what I needed to start my seeds indoors before planting them into my outdoor garden. Each pot contains plenty of space to allow the seedlings to grow without drying out. I started a variety of seeds in these pots this year. I planted cucumbers, melons, tomatoes, chives, parsley, sage, basil, and peppers. These pots will last me many years of use, but they aren't the most sturdy pots out there which is why I gave 4 stars and not 5. They aren't flimsy, but be careful not to bang them around. I would definitely recommend this product. Great little pot January 5, 2017 These little planters are a perfect size for a small plant, and were exactly what I needed! They are more durable than what I was expecting, and I will be able to reuse them. The only downfall to these little pots are there are between 18 and 19 holes a little bit bigger than Then peas on the bottom, so what are will drain and dirt will fall out, but that is easily fixed by folding a paper towel and putting it on the bottom of the container before filling it with dirt and your plant. These are a great price and great quality. I will definitely come back to buy more! Nice pots, holes are large February 17, 2016 I am using these pots to start plants for my garden this spring. These are a great size for that. The pots are a soft plastic which will deform under hand pressure, but do not break or tear easily. I ordered two sets of these, and both came with exactly 30 pots as advertised. My only complaint is that the holes in the bottom are quite large. I am using heavy soil, and I notice a little spilling out the bottom, I imagine it would be much worse with typical potting soil. I did find a very easy solution from another reviewer, just putting a small bit of newspaper in the bottom of each pot. This stops soil from falling out, but still allows for good drainage. Overall I am happy with this purchase. Size is good. Lots of holes on the bottom so I ... January 8, 2016 Using it to start some herb seedlings by a window and some tradescantia cuttings. Size is good. Lots of holes on the bottom so I took other peoples suggestions and folded some paper towel on the bottom. Good value May 31, 2013 Holes could be smaller but I just stuck a piece of newspaper in the bottom to prevent the seeding mix from sifting out. | 21% Overall good to standard quality. May 2, 2017 Quality was OK. It was a bit difficult to get the seeds and soil out of the container after growing for a few weeks. This is a very small seed starter so keep that in mind when growing larger plants. The larger plants might outgrow these starter containers in a matter of days. Even with my cilantro plants and chives that I grew from seed the containers were too small after only a week. Perhaps that's normal but I expected to use them for at least 2 to 3 weeks. Otherwise pretty standard quality. Came in good packaging. Also included were six white plastic plant labels. They do not feel sturdy at all March 24, 2017 Work so far. I'm leaving a 4 because the plastic is thin--like thin as paper. They do not feel sturdy at all. I had to very gently put the soil in them. All others I've ever used were a heck of a lot sturdier. I usually just scoop the soil with them and done. These have to be scooped into. I tried to scoop with the first one and it crumbled. These fit plugs! March 23, 2017 These fit the Rapid Rooter plugs I have. Check the dimensions before you buy! The bottom has quite a large hole I'm a bit uneasy with. I put seed starter mix in some and some plugs in others. I made sure to pack in the dirt tight yet careful. Nothing ripped! It looks like the length of the bottom should give good root growth I'm just waiting to see how the bottoms hold up. I would like to come back and give an update when I see how these work out. I got 23 not 24. They are flimsy, but reasonable. with the exception that they blow over a bit easily from wind March 15, 2017 Works well, with the exception that they blow over a bit easily from wind, so if not kept in trays you must keep a watch or prop them up or into a secure place. Would still recommend for the price and purpose though. Worked well. Pretty sturdy. June 25, 2016 Good size for starting seeds. Could be a bit larger but I really couldn't tell from the description. They worked well and were sturdy enough to wash and be able to reuse next year. They could have included markers for each tray not just 5. Not to worry, I just cut up old vinyl blind pieces and use them (which a family member picks up as discard from a home improvement store she works at).Good item as they are hard to buy in stores. It's exactly like the picture December 18, 2015 There really isn't much to say about this item. It's exactly like the picture. Great for starting seeds, but they will need to be transplanted shortly after the first true leaves sprout. It would be nice if there were more labels, but I didn't purchase this for the labels so it's not that big of a deal to me. The labels are pretty firm, and seem like the will last a while. I plan to use a dry erase marker so that I can wipe them clean and reuse them. | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
Three Star Reviews: | 7% Ordering from this listing can land you with 2 different quality pots June 17, 2017 Note to potential buyers: You can receive two types of pots through ordering from this listing: 1) Is a great fairly sturdy plastic pot that could do maybe 3 to 5 full seasons in the elements/outdoors 2) A pot made of much more filmy (and thin) plastic that will probably last you 1 to 2 outdoor seasons The product arrived with a few of the pots lip ... June 27, 2016 The product arrived with a few of the pots lip broken and I ordered it twice, and the two products were not the same at all. Too shallow for transplanting tomatoes and peppers. The depth ... March 22, 2015 Too shallow for transplanting tomatoes and peppers. The depth of these pots is only ~3.25". The seedlings I transplanted last weekend are already growing roots through the bottom of the pots. Robust tomato seedlings require an extensive root structure and so I will have to transplant them again into deeper pots next week. Next year, I'll use deeper pots during the first transplanting itself. | 10% They're okay. Truly nothing special. There are small ... August 30, 2017 They're okay. Truly nothing special. There are small threads of plastic on the edges which need peeling, from the manufacturing process. The cups also crumble under the lightest pressure, as they're made of paper-thin plastic. Very thin. April 12, 2017 They arrived promptly. Well packaged but they are smaller and much thinner than planters you would buy flowers in at any store. Definitely a one time use item. For the price and quality I regret the order BUT the seller did everything perfectly and I was happy with the service. The item just did not meet the standards I needed. Not for those who plan to reuse for another season. Three Stars May 9, 2016 Too thin to reuse, unable to get the more fragile seedlings out without wrecking the containers. They are the smallest cells, about 12 of these ... April 26, 2016 They are the smallest cells, about 12 of these 6 pack cells fit in one normal tray. They shipped quickly and were as advertised, but the plastic is very thin and you won't get more than one or two uses out of them. I'd spend a little more next time for a higher gauge plastic. But you have to take the price into consideration. Flimsy July 31, 2015 At first glance/ feel these are pretty flimsy. I expected a little more durability, but we'll see how planting goes. For the price I won't complain too much. I will however complain that I didn't receive my label stakes as advertised. :-( | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
Two Star Reviews: | 2% Stickers?! Why? April 11, 2017 Each pot has a sticker which is not easily removed. Looks bad. Wouldn't buy again. Too small. Smaller than the degradable pots you buy ... June 1, 2016 Too small. Smaller than the degradable pots you buy your plants in the store. I wanted them because I grow everything from seed this year and needed transition pots from starting seed to in the grownd. Not going to be helpful there. Sorry The first time I ordered these I got 4" pots ... February 11, 2016 The first time I ordered these I got 4" pots. The second time I doubled the order and received 3.5" pots labeled as 4". I might have to return them as I am a small business and need to keep all my seedlings the same size. Won't order these again because I'm not sure what I will get. Update: I was going to just keep them and then I opened the plastic sleeve and found each pot has a bar code sticker on it. I can't remove 120 stickers (They do not come off easily.) so I am sending them back. The stickers said they are 3.5" inch pots but the bags were labeled 4". If you are growing for re sale you don't want someone else's bar code sticker on them. The first time I ordered 60 and there were no stickers on them. Holey. December 5, 2015 Note the number of drainage holes. Not only does the water drain out , so does my soil. | 4% Small and Cheap March 22, 2017 I didn't expect these to be large, but seriously, these are ridiculous. The quality on them is horrible. If it would be worth it, I'd return them. I definitely won't be using them to stay seeds anytime soon. Get out your measure stick, these are much smaller ... March 15, 2017 Get out your measure stick, these are much smaller than they look - seed starting ok but seed transplants will never do well. These ar tiny and narrow fast. Not worth the money The product is almost as advertised. I did not ... March 7, 2017 The product is almost as advertised. I did not get enough trays to fill two 10"x 20" flats as the description states. I don't know what is going on but it's too late for me to send them back as my seeds have been planted already. I checked the description again after I planted my seeds just to make sure I wasn't going crazy and sure enough I got jipped! Too expensive for what it is even if they did give me the correct number of trays. Not Recommended March 8, 2016 This product is significantly overpriced and of limited use. The cells are much smaller (by about 35-40%) than what a commercial supplier or nursery uses for their seedlings. As well, the material is lighter weight and more fragile than most commercial trays and will not be reusable. A substantial price reduction of 50% or more would be in order, but the small cell size and volume still greatly limits their usefulness. I do not recommended this product. You get what you pay for March 8, 2016 My lesson learned for this product is that you get what you pay for. These seed trays are very thin and flimsy. I will be able to use them this growing season, but they will not hold up to re-use next year. If you are like me and try to make environmentally responsible purchases, I would recommend searching for seed trays that you can re-use year after year. | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
One Star Reviews: | 2% NOT AS ADVERTISED November 30, 2016 NOT AS ADVERTISED. The shipped pots are 4" tall, not 2.75" as advertised. Purchased the item twice giving them the benefit of the doubt and shipped the wrong item again. Looking at the reviews another buyer had the same problem and posted the photo. | 3% Too small and short when placed side by side in a tray May 7, 2017 Smaller than ones you would find at Lowe's or Home Depot, and when placing 12 of them in a tray you have 1/2 inch left causing them to slide whenever you have to pick up the tray. I would not order again. These were teeny tiny and I hated them because there is hardly any room for dirt ... April 30, 2017 These were teeny tiny and I hated them because there is hardly any room for dirt and you will have to transplant them into something bigger right away. They are a waste of your time! Cheap Quality April 29, 2017 Cheap quality. I have found better quality seed starters at the Dollar Store. Not worth $7, more like 70 cents for the whole package. One Star March 24, 2017 These trays are so tiny and flimsy! Not worth the amount spent on this product. TINY TINY TINY They are also hard to get apart ... March 22, 2017 TINY TINY TINYThey are also hard to get apart in one piece. | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
