I wanted them to put on my grill ... August 30, 2016 These are great. I wanted them to put on my grill grates if I wanted to cook breakfast on the grill with eggs, bacon, mushrooms and onion. Sure I could have gotten out the heavy cast iron skillet plate, but that is heavy and a pain to clean. Plus I only have one so if I'm cooking for a group I have to do it in batches. These worked well. I was a bit worried that the eggs would slide off so the first one I used egg rings, but these are big enough that so long as your grill is flat, stuff won't fall off, and they are easy to clean up. The first time we used it for steaks they turned out great but the grats were hard to clean.Last night we used these grill mats for steaks and short ribs. Again the grilled meats turned out great!! One review indicated there was too much moisture resulting instewing effect. Our steaks were well marinated and we saw no significant fluid at grill temperature of about 450 F.Because the reviewer said the mat was very hard to clean, more than a grat, after grilling I wiped the mat with paper towels. The next morning the mat cleaned easily with soap and water. NO PROBLEMS I CAN SEE!!!! You can't go wrong here! September 30, 2015 These mats are fantastic. I grill a lot of fish, especially salmon, which has a tendency to fall apart and drop through the grill. Now I start with the fish on the mats and if I want grill marks, I finish them on the grill after they are less likely to fall apart. I do the opposite for steaks, searing them on the grill first and then transferring them onto the mats to finish, thus avoiding the problems with flare-ups.The mats also make grilling veggies a breeze. And, they make nice gifts for your grilling friends. Buy it! July 18, 2015 I'm a converted skeptic. I bought these after reading all the reviews that swayed widely and really wasn't expecting much. I now stand corrected! The only change to my grilling was that I had the hot coals going one one side of the grill and the grill mat on the non direct side. I put my marinated chicken thighs on the hot grill side to get a slight char and grill marks on both sides then put them on the grill mat to let then finish cooking and smoking. They came out perfect. Nothing stuck to the mat. The chicken was moist and tender. Cleanup was a breeze with soap and warm water. It keeps the grill clean, so there is minimal cleaning after grilling. It even leaves the grill marks that you would get if you put the food directly on the grill without the mat, which surprised me. It's probably best to clean the mat shortly after grilling, rather than letting it sit too long. Bottom Line: I recommend this grill mat. Do yourself a favor and get it. 99 and I am Happy! They work great for everything I have used ... March 16, 2016 I got this on a Amazon lightning deal for $5.99 and I am Happy! They work great for everything I have used them for. I originally bought these because I want the silicone baking mats, the problem with those is they don't fit the pans you buy at the store so before I spent all the money to upgrade all of my baking sheets so they would fit I wanted to try something close that wouldn't cost much if it failed. I have used these in the oven in my pans and they work good. They are too large for the pans but soft enough that they almost take the shape of the pan when pushed into it. I have baked bacon, bacon wrapped scallops / shrimp, chicken, fish, cheese sticks, etc... in temps from 350F-450F. They haven't melted or warped and no odor from the mat. I wash them with a paper towel and hot soapy water, everything comes off.I wasn't sure about using them on the grill because of some of the reviews. I make hamburgers mixed with lots of cheese and bacon which make a HUGE mess on the grill and takes some time to scrape off. I tried these and they did great. I cooked the cheeseburgers on med direct flame (gas side of grill) for 16 min (3 flips), the burgers had grill marks and were perfectly cooked to the right temp (I thought I would have to cook them longer than normal). The mat was a mess just as I expected but my grill was clean. I put the mat in hot soapy water and let it soak, came back to it after dinner, everything came off and it's still as good as new! These mats have already paid for themselves with the money I saved on not using aluminum foil. I am in love March 10, 2016 So my daughter told me about these mats. I was skeptical to say the least. My indoor bbq has been with me since 1996 and truthfully, I hate using it because the cleanup is horrendous.......So I tried a mat with chicken breasts in the house on this Jenair bbq......OMGSH!!! They are fantastic!!! The chicken did not dry out, the marinade did not leak on my electric elements and the grill marks were the same, if not better than with the outside grill. The chicken was juicy because the elements of the bbq did not suck out all the moisture. So.....what I did was order a set for everyone in the family. Then I took an extra set I ordered for myself and cut them to fit grill pans I have for on the stove......I haven't cleaned a grill or grill pan since they came. April 25, 2015 I was looking for something to cook fish on my BBQ grill that would prevent it from falling through the grill.These mats do the trick, at first I was wondering if there was going to melted plastic mess on my grill, but think of it as a frying pan without the pan.It's more like a sheet of teflon, (maybe that's what is) I put 3 large salmon steaks on it, it cooked them flawlessly, just as if it where in a pan, but withthe BBQ touch. You get grill marks and your smoke flavor. Cleanup is fairly easy. It is best to wipe down the mat while it is still warm to pickup excess grease and oils. After I wipe up as much as I can, I lay the mat in the sink in some hot water and a little dish soap and let it soak so it breaks down any remaining oil. After a short soak you can scrub it with pretty much anything to clean it, rinse and dry.The only thing to keep in mind is try and use plastic/non scratch utensils. The meats have cooked evenly and have not charred. There is no appreciable increase in cooking time. The meat flavors have been excellent, with no aftertaste other than from the marinades used. I haven't done grilled vegetables or used skewers yet, but I think they'll do just as well. I like to use a honey lime marinade which tends to stick to the grill and makes cleanup difficult. These make cleanup very easy. Some meat does sit in its own juice, but I have not found this to be a problem as it cooks off quickly, or you can tilt the mat to pour it off. The grill usually runs quite hot and I needed the grill mats to slow down the cooking process for Salmon steaks. I just slap a grill mat over the grates that comes with the BBQ and lower the lid and cook for about 10 mins on each side. The salmon steaks come out perfect every time and the mats make clean up very simple. The only thing I don't like about them is they are made of a PTFE like material (Teflon) and that worries me. They did help to reduce flare ups and chicken came out nice and moist, was just hoping for grill marks from what others said. But for the $ these are nice, much cheaper than otehrs that are basically the same and your getting two decent sized sheets. I'll try with fish next time as I think thats where this will come handy since fish even if oiled can stick to a grill. BBQ Grill Mats...Work! September 14, 2015 Actually, I was surprised these mats do work. You can see grill marks on the cooking/cooked foods and they don't let small item fall between the grates as indicated. The only down fall is cleaning the mats. Since outdoors, I hose them off after cooling down (on the ground) and follow up with sink washing. Oh yea, that down side...a little more soaking and scrubbing is necessary to completely clean than I expected. I might try cooking oil next time and see if they clean up easier. And the steak juices just rolled off edges of mats, and to bottom of grill. So I didn't really see the benefit, and they burned. I guess cooking something lower heat, with less juice may work... Like fish, or veggies. But not ideal for red meat in my opinion. Not very heavy duty. May 4, 2016 I ordered these because they claimed to be heavy duty. When they arrived I was quite disappointed. They were quite thin and flimsy. I have not found an opportunity to use them yet, but don't have very high expectations for their longevity. I would not buy them or recommend them to others. With just one use and it is already splitted in the middle and ripped and has weared out. I noticed this mat is very thin unlike other mats I have ordered from Amazon which was never a problem.This mat was not over heated but just used ONCE at normal temperature. Do order this mat. I have ordered the Gorilla Grill Mats and they are thick and awesome mat. The fabric frays and I am able to pull each of the fiber from the ends. I have never had that happen from the other mats I have ordered. Unfortunately we were not able to use this mat until now so it is over the 30 day return policy. I didnt think to test this mat out before the 30 days as I didnt have any problem like this. Do not order this mat!!! Will try again tonight with Salmon to see if I have any better results. June 24, 2015 While excited to use these as I am an avid griller, I can't help but wonder where all these positive reviews are coming from. Thus far, I have cooked Tilapia burgers twice on these. When trying to flip the burgers, they all seemed to stick. The whole grill pad moved while trying to get under it. This necessitated me trying to hold the hot grill mat in order to get the spatula under it. They did seem to clean alright, but certainly not worth it if everything sticks to it. I tried this both unheated, and also tried heating it up before putting on the grill.
