August 20, 2017 I was looking for a light in the backyard.We just moved in and didn't have any light in the backyard and it gets pitch dark at night.When I let my dog out, I can't even find him.These lights are sleek, and stainless silver looks cool.I don't like those glaring while LED lights, so it took me a while to find them. They have the warm orange glow to them. Installation was insanely easy. It came with the plastic anchors, but I didn't use them.It definitely adds some mood in the yard, though they don't lit up the entire yard for sure.Overall, they are what I was looking for and I am very happy with my purchase. They have beautiful warm lights instead of the ugly bright white stuff found on so many of devices from competitors, and they light all night--even the one that gets substantially less sun than its companions. It's a great solar light June 2, 2017 It's a great solar light, no need to wire anything up and the sun charges it for you. The lights are awesome. We used them on our new deck stairs. The low profile of less than 1 inch makes them perfect for the stairs. They are bright enough without being too bright. We have the bluish color solar cap lights on our deck posts. The stair lights look fine since the light color they put out is a clear color, not yellowish. They all work great every night so far. They need a good amount of sun to operate. I have one that only gets an hour or two of direct sun and it only lasts about an hour after dark. The others are going fine. They look great and modern with a slim profile. Light reflects down onto the ground and you can limit the range based on how high off the ground you mount it. Frankly I didn't expect much luck on cinderblock and other porous surfaces, but so far it has held strong on a variety of surfaces, resisting harsh sunlight and high winds. In one case I put the device on crooked, and fully expected the tape to take the paint off when I pulled it off. It came off without any damage. You really have to use it to believe it. This stuff is no joke. September 21, 2016 I got this tape just shy of a month ago to mount a plug strip and a USB hub to my wall next to my bed. In case you were curious, it sticks very well to plastic and to painted drywall.. I honestly don't think either will ever come off. They both feel like they're bolted down. They don't move the slightest bit. It's working great and holding up to pressure of cables being plugged and unplugged regularly. I almost wish I had more things to hang, I just hope I never have to remove them. Stick To It August 16, 2015 I have no idea how well this works for its intended use but given what I put it through, I would guess it will do great. My Topsiders have a padded plastic insole with a piece of leather covering it. After about a season of wearing them in the heat and sockless, this leather piece begins to detach. I have tried everything, including a number of Gorilla solutions, to correct this and 3M's tape is the first product that worked. It's lasted all summer under my sweaty soles and it's still solid. Excellent tape to keep around the house January 11, 2011 I was surprised by the lack of information about the tape on Amazon's listing. For more information about the tape than you care to know, search for "3m 4011 datasheet" - 3M has one that talks about it's construction, adhesive tests, and bondline elongation results among other things. As far as load goes, the packaging recommends 4 inches of tape for every pound it's supposed to hold and can be used to mount up to a total of 5 pounds. The packaging also warns that the tape "may cause damage if removed" and "if you must remove the mounted object, insert a knife behind [it] and carefully cut the tape between the adhesive surfaces".The tape is 0.045 inches thick (almost 1 mm), so depending on what you use it for, there may be a bulge. It is kind of a pain to remove the red protective layer, so if you need to fit it in a tight spot, peel of a corner first before placing it.I've used this tape a few times and have been very pleased with it. I've used to attach a Oxo SteeL Kitchen Tool and Utensil Rack to a metal backsplash (where I couldn't screw into it) and I've also used it to mount surge protectors to the underside of desks to move it out of the way. I'm sure there are hundreds of other good uses for it, so I plan to keep a roll of it around the house. It's almost as useful as super glue, just less permanent and it isn't as much of a pain to clean up.UPDATE (7/13/2011): I've been using this to mount the tool rack for over six months now. It does work, however the load I'm putting on it is too high and it causes the tape to creep. After about 3-4 weeks it sags enough to drop the untensils. I'm not going to dock a star because I knew I'm exceeding the load (I have several pounds on a square inch.).I've recently discovered 3M's 4929 Very High Bond Tape. This stuff is ridiculously strong (110 psi shear). I've used it at work in high stress environments at low temperatures (-20C) and it didn't budge. This tape is (currently) not on Amazon and has to be ordered through an industrial supply company like McMaster-Carr ($20 a roll). Warm color, not blue-white. They come on at slightly different times. Depends on how much daylight they get. Some stay on longer again based on the daylight they get. Well built. I would buy them again for sure. Looks amazing when and if they're on January 3, 2017 I got these for a few months now. The location do not have a full day sun, but I will say at least 6 hours or so. For the most part, lights came on at dusk daily and they look really good. Unfortunately, they would only stay on for an hour to an hour and a half, if I'm lucky. So it doesn't really help if I get home in the evening.Two of the 6 lights are working intermittently, also. I still have a second set that i haven't installed. Maybe I'll move those to a different location at the home and see if that makes a difference. At this point, I"m past the returning date, so I won't be able to return these lights.Updated on May, 2017 - so I noticed two problems, once, where the light is, it only get sun for about 3 to max 4 hours of sun. I installed the first set during winter months, when sky is cloudy or raining most of the time. So the 3 or 4 hours didn't charge them up much. Now that it is summer, they do stay on for a bit longer. The first set which has less sun will stay on for about 3 or 4 hours, but the second set which is installed in location with lots of sun will stay on for 6 to 7 hours. So for now, I'm happy with the lights. So moved the ratings to 4 star. Rust issues in Florida December 29, 2016 I really like these lights on my lanai, but they have become very rusty. They still work and I may purchase them again to add more lighting, but in some ways the plastic alternative probably makes more sense if you live in a high humidity area. I stored them inside during the summer months because I am a snowbird, but still...rust. Overall pretty good, but color is off and battery has short life November 1, 2016 Great product! The only negatives are that the light is not as warm as it is pictured as that was what we were after, and the lights do not last too long after charging all day in the sun. Otherwise great product. Also I used some mounting tape so that I wouldn't have to make any holes in my house and that worked fine for the most part. Nice soft light August 11, 2016 Good soft lights, but I doubt they are waterproof. There are gaps between sheetmetal and solar panel, so doesn't look reliable. Has only two LEDs and that is perfect - you do not need much light on stairs. However light is directed only straight bottom, so it is more suitable for railings or other places where you will mount it on about 1-1.5 feet above surface. | 12% Sticks super strong to everything including me just not on wood. August 31, 2017 I needed some type of double sided tape to secure my led lights to wood. This sticks to everything BUT wood. I have to keep reapplying this to sections of my led lights after a day or two because it just won't hold. If your sticking this to anything else this stuff will stick like superglue. It works well, but the roll is pretty small so I basically had to use about half the roll, making it relatively expensive (-1 star for value), but it seems to stick well. Three Star Reviews: | 9% Nice lights but cheap batteries that die quickly. August 26, 2017 Purchased a 2 pack in the summer of 2016 and they are still working well staying lit into the wee morning hours (8+ Hours) however I purchased a 6 pack in June 2017 and right now in August 2017 5 out of the 6 lights don't stay lit more than 2 hours. Pulled one apart today to find a JSY brand 700 mAh 1.2V Ni-MH AAA rechargeable battery. Going to put some 1100 mAh EBL batteries in and see how they work. Otherwise the construction of the lights are simple & solid and they look good appearance wise and cast decent warm light. Have them around the deck, on the shed and on the front of the house to provide gentle light at night.Edit 9/21/2017Now nearing the end of September and I have replaced batteries in 4 of the 6 lights. 2 of them on the front of the house get 4.5 hours of sun and are staying on for about 6 hours. 2 on the deck getting 7 hours of sun are staying on for about half an hour. I don't know what to make out of these lights now. They are so basic I don't really understand how it would only be charging a little bit with 7 hours of sun. Going to reach out to the manufacturer. I love these as they are brighter than the other deck ... July 23, 2017 I love these as they are brighter than the other deck lights I purchased but I don't like the clear lens. I am using them all over my yard to shine on dark areas and statues, hung low on trees or hooks but problem is must be faced away because the glare of the bulbs. My other set has a softer frosted lens so bulb glare is not as much an issue. I put these on my hardscape patio wall with 2-way ... The 2 LED light creates ambiance but I had hoped they would put out more light. Wouldn't stay on very long for me (maybe too much shade) November 26, 2016 I waited a long time before posting a review of these because I wanted to be sure I fully tested them in every scenario. The first 2 weeks I had them we had lots of cloudy, rainy weather. So they weren't staying on very long but I couldn't be sure it wasn't just a lack of enough sunlight.Now, after at least a month of having them on my deck in different locations I still can't say it's a lack of sun. They come on at dusk, right on schedule. But I never get more than around 4-5 hours out of them before they start to go black. I will say that my back yard has a lot of filtered sun most of the day. It only gets full sun for an hour or 2 on the deck as the sun starts to set.The quality is definitely there though. They're good looking, well-made lights. They never failed to come on, even with all the rain. They're smaller than they appear on line, but in a good way. And I really appreciate the warm white light they give off, as I'm not a fan of the blue light look. But if these taught me anything it's the fact that for my back yard I'm probably going to have to go with a low-voltage wired system. I need something that will come on at dusk and stay on until sunrise, every night and every light. After over a month with these I just couldn't get that to happen. If you can get a full 8 hours of full sun your milage may vary, as may your requirements. Would not use on brick outdoors. Used to work... April 23, 2014 I used this stuff a few years back and was pleased that it lasted through hot, cold, wet dry weather. So I bought it again. Whatever 3M has changed in the adhesive causes it to stick for about a week in 65 degree sunny weather. Forget about cold, wet or dry. Won't hold for long. Don't waste your money. Marine shops sell all weather double stick tape which is where I'm headed. Works if you use enough June 24, 2013 I purchased this to facilitate installation of battery operated motion detector lights where I had no electrical outputs. As it stood, the only other way to install them was to get out my hammer drill because the walls are cement block covered with stucco, though the description indicated the tape would hold on stucco. From the reviews, I had the impression that it would be exactly what I needed, particularly since it says it will hold up to 5 pounds, considerably more than what I was installing. However, when you read the instructions, they point out that you require a 4 inch strip for every one pound you install. Obviously, there was not enough room to put a 4 inch strip on the back of the light. Through my own fault, I attempted the install BEFORE reading the instructions. I thoroughly applied the tape to the base of the light and installed it. At first, it indeed seemed to be firmly attached, even when I tried to pull it off the wall. Feeling confident on the install and not having to take the chance in damaging my stucco with a hammer drill, I started plans on installation of the second light when I heard that sickeningly unpleasant sound. Yep, there was the light, on the ground in two pieces with the tape securely attached to the back of the base, but not a bit on the wall. Fortunately, I was able to fix the light, but I now have the hammer drill out and will do the installation the way I should have done to begin with. I suspect that this tape would be great on light weight objects that have a wide enough base or backing to permit you to place long strips of tape before applying to the surface, and for that perhaps I should have given this a higher rating. However, in my case, the tape proved to be disappointing and useful in very specific situations, certainly not the one I purchased it for. September 17, 2017 Have two that got water damage before they were even installed and can't get the company to respond to me on returning them? they seem to be good lights but I had them all outside charging and it rained. the blowing rain I guess somehow got into two of the 16 that I purchased and they are not working? disappointing.. March 10, 2017 out of 6 lights, after charging for 2 days and mounting them, 2 lights dead within 24 hours.. 1 light never shut off during the day and the other never turned on at all.. The ones that did light up were a good soft glow, which is what I wanted, but overall disappointed with a 33% failure rate. too bad.. Now I have to deal with a return and other stuff I should never have to. Total hassle. Provides nice lighting for deck stairs but one of six did ... They get plenty of sunlight during the day, but you never know if all or some will light up at night. Very expensive for something that works only 50% of the time. I bought these to use on wooden steps leading up to an apartment on the back side of a building, and they haven't worked as I hoped they would. A waste of money...... July 1, 2016 These look great...nice design. The bad thing is they only stay on for about two hours after dark. So, even in the summer when the sun goes down at nine, they are off by 11. They will be an even larger waste of money in the winter, because they will stop working by 7. Not helpful. So disappointing January 2, 2016 They worked great for the first week. We've had them up for a month now. Even after a brightly sunny day, only 5 out of 12 came on at all and those stayed on for only an hour.
