Five Star Reviews: | 63% Conformable, light weight, huge field of vision March 27, 2016 I love this mask. Conformable, light weight, huge field of vision, really what more can you ask for. I know most people say buy the Dye i4, and i will say that is another great mask. But the i4 is a bit on the small size and if your someone like me who has a descant sized head you'll want this extra protection along your chin and jaw line. That is a big bonus to thins mask, It will protect your whole face. I have seen people complaining about the padded ears on this mask, about how you can hear anything while wearing it. That's just untrue. I had no trouble what so ever hearing when wearing this mask, in fact i love the ear padding. Anyone who has ever been shot in the ear can tell you why. I'm so happy with this mas March 8, 2016 I'm so happy with this mas!! I tried it on and it fits perfect. But....i was sad that it didn't came with tinted goggles like how it shows in the pic. I was looking for a mask that had tinted lens because I have issues with my eyes and contact with the sun :( But please I recommend that you guys show what your exactly selling. Don't put a object that your gonna sell that labels "PSP" and then he/she buys object and doesn't show "PSP" its an example XD But for real show the the buyer what your gonna sell exactly. But hey the mask was wonderful I loved it, now i can have fun paint balling Thank you Very much Extremely Comfortable July 24, 2015 Sly masks are awesome. There is plenty of soft plush padding inside to insure a full days of comfort. Softer than any other mask I've tried. The duel bands are perfect for keeping this in place no matter what you do. I do wear my glasses paintballing sometimes and they fit just fine under these while still being just as comfortable and keeps them in place. The faded lens that comes with it is perfect, blocks the sun well and does not look dark to the user. Not to mention it just looks really cool. Would definitely recommend. Double Straps and lots of Padding! May 13, 2015 One of the best Paintball Goggles out! Really comfortable to wear! Double straps keep the mask secure on my head! They used a suede like material instead of foam! The only con is that the padding which absorbs a lot of sweat and the padding on the ears is a little much, which muffles a lot of outside sound, but I absolutely do not fear getting shot in the side of the head. May not be good for anyone with a large head. The red isn't as metallic as seen in the picture but I hear there is a metallic red that the paint started chipping. Mine is made of red plastic. Great Mask - Worth the cost!! April 28, 2014 I started playing paintball earlier this winter (it's now April, and spring has sprung in the Midwest), and I was getting extremely frustrated with cheap goggles that would fog up once I started moving around on the field. Many of the cheaper, non-thermal masks will do a great job protecting your face and ears, but the lack of thermal coating can lead to dangerous fogging. Not everyone will experience fogging at the same rate as the amount of moisture and heat that the skin can produce varies from person to person. I happen to have a hot face, and my old JT mask would frequently fog in the middle of a match. This was my main motivation for getting a high quality, thermal lens mask.PROS:After several hours running around the woods in 70 degree weather with a long sleeve shirt and a bandana on my head, the Profit lens didn't come close to fogging up during any matches. There are less expensive thermal masks available, but I didn't want to take a chance. I chose to get a Sly because of their reputation, and I liked the look and color options better than the Dye i4 lineup. I purchased a camo mask with a black bottom for better woodsball concealment. The fit from the double strap design coupled with the extremely soft padding makes for a supremely well fitted and comfortable play experience. I thought that having a larger head would be an issue, but I actually had to tighten the bottom strap down quite a bit to make sure the bottom side of the eye padding stayed tight to my nose. This shows that Sly takes those of us with big noggins into account with their mask design. The soft ear foam also didn't deaden outside noise as much as I thought it would, and I could still hear my opponents moving around through the brush very well. Just make sure the ear holes are centered over your ears properly, and you won't have problems. The wide lens provides a great field of vision that preserves as much peripheral vision as a mask can, and I didn't notice any tunnel vision effect as I was moving around the field. As with any goggle, though, you can't see below your nose well without tilting your head down more than usual. Removing the lens is also quite easy as long as you follow the instructions which makes cleaning very easy.CONS:The Profit doesn't offer much forehead coverage due to the lack of a visor, but a headband or bandana solves that problem. Also, since this is a low profile mask, the vented sides don't offer any neck coverage, and it may be necessary to wear a neck guard to protect this sensitive skin.Smaller vents on the rubber underside of the mask mean that paint is less likely to end up in your mouth or on your face, but it doesn't allow for very good air circulation. It also muffles your voice a bit which means you will have to shout louder so others can understand you.The gradient lens that comes standard with the Profit is great for reducing glare for outdoor paintball, but the reflective surface is very prone to scratches. After a day in the woods, small branches and sticks left a few scuffs and scratches on my lens, but that is better than having scratches on my eyes or face. The coating on the outside is also difficult to clean without really buffing it well with a microfiber cloth if your opponents are using oily paint. It's not as obvious with clear lenses. The chin strap that comes with the mask was really too short to be functional for me, and it didn't sit in a spot where I felt it provided any benefit. Luckily it was easily removable, and I didn't have to take any hardware to the mask to release the straps.Overall, the Sly Profit is an excellent mask for those that don't mind a low profile goggle design. I don't know that it improved my game, but it was definitely a huge upgrade to not have to alter my breathing or deal with mid match fogging all of the time. No mask is completely fog proof, but keeping the lens clean, and checking the coating by breathing directly on the inside of the lens between matches to check the integrity of the coating will make sure you don't have issues. If you get a defective lens, don't use it until you get it replaced.Sly also recommends replacing the lens once per year, but I'm sure you don't have to go that far as long as you don't use cleaners that contain acetone or alcohol which will damage the coating on either side of the lens. I personally used a few sprays of clean water, and a very soft cloth to clean mine, and it is still fine. Do replace it if there are any visible cracks around the seal that connects the two layers of plastic though. Once it cracks, the seal is broken, and then you may have fogging between the two layers.I recommend this mask to anyone who likes woodsball or speedball. Great mask, will/would buy again!!! One of the best April 15, 2013 Yes, these goggles are expensive, but you certainly get what you pay for. I have played paintball for close to seven years, and I've come to find that how comfortable you are on the field directly correlates to how much you will actually play. If you buy a cheaper goggle system, it's going to have cheap uncomfortable foam, a cheap frame, and an even cheaper lens (which equals fog). I have never played with something so comfortable as the Profit. It has the nice dual strap system and heavy velvet padding inside for the ears and face. It's also got great coverage for the face compared to the Dye i4 (which is also a great mask, just less coverage). I just played this last weekend and the thermal lens never fogged. It worked great and it looked great. The only bad thing I have to say about the system is that the stock lens is not entirely dark, and you can easily see through it from the other side. Sly calls it "gradient" meaning it starts dark at the top and turns clear near the bottom. It worked good for the sunny day that I played on, but I think an entirely dark lens would be better. Luckily, Sly replacement lenses are available here on Amazon, and in a variety of colors, including smoke, which is entirely dark.Even with the lens, I give everything about this system 5 stars. Go try it on at your local paintball store. You will not be disappointed. | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
Four Star Reviews: | 18% Its good December 25, 2016 Nice mask...Box was damaged and I was afraid it was broken. luckily it wasn't but did have one fairly big scratch. But it doesn't bother me.It's good but it is a little expensive...But overall I'm happy with it.Looks like this seller has a reputation of improper care for the mask boxes. But it's a good thing the masks are ok. The mask is very comfortable. The only bad thing I have to say ... July 29, 2016 The mask is very comfortable. The only bad thing I have to say is that the lens wasn't the color of what it looked like. I ordered the black and white mask. I thought the lens was going to be partially tinted but the lens is only clear. Hard to breathe when hustling. May 16, 2016 I'm very aggressive on the field when playing. Half of the time, I catch myself pulling the mask in front of my face, or upward to try and catch some air. It is really hard to breathe when running with these masks, and I have two (unfortunately). Just need to adjust the mast upward, but then, your chin is exposed. I also have Dye I4's and e-flex and those two seemed to be easier to breathe from. Mask is pretty comfortable overall May 3, 2016 My item came with a tinted lens, as pictured. I've read reviews where it comes with a clear mask, but I did not have that issue. Mask is pretty comfortable overall. I do like the double straps for tightening around my head. Mask fogs up on occasion, but I've owned a few high-end masks and sometimes there is just no avoiding it. There is little forehead coverage with this mask, so be aware of that. I did not have much trouble breathing during intense games, at least, not any worse than any other paintball mask. I could hear perfectly fine, so I'm not sure why some users have stated that hearing is diminished. Overall, very good mask for the price. I would recommend this mask to anyone looking for a good mask under a bill. Love the fit December 23, 2014 Love the fit. Only thing is the white is not really WHITE at all. Its almost a pearl greyish white. The photo is shot with either a white light making appear pure white...or I got jipped. Best way to describe it is, if youre into cars, the white mask is a "Lexus starfire pearl white that comes on the is250s" and the white in the photo looks like its a "BMW Alpine white". I was really hoping it was true white so I could just paint teeth and make it look like a skull without having to spray too much. Now, i guess ill just play it as is :/ Tough, and well put together, but HOT October 8, 2013 First and foremost, I really do enjoy the Sly Profit mask. The use of two straps allows me to adjust the mask to the way that best fits my face. In addition, the mask is made of solid material and is overall well made. My one complaint is that it can get slightly toasty during the heat (no pun intended) of the game. It doesn't seem to breath very well and that was disappointing. Another note (though not a complaint) is that the initial lens of the mask is exceptionally dark, which works very well for outdoor play. However, should you decide to play indoors as I have done on occasion, it would be wise to purchase a clear lens as well. Again not a complaint, simply a note. Overall, great value! | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
Three Star Reviews: | 10% I am pleased with the quality of this mask September 13, 2016 I am pleased with the quality of this mask. It sits very comfortably on your face. However, the vents are a bit too small/tight so breathability might be a problem during hotter seasons. Theyre alright. July 26, 2016 They are a bit pricey if you don't get your use out of them. And they are really sound proof which in my case being a woodsball person is bad cause you really can't hear anything but they are comfortable and really tinted. Oh and don't leave the paint on the mask it burns right through the blue on it. Also box looked like it was opened and used as a display helmet May 11, 2016 Didn't come with the the mask in the pictures, came with a clear mask. Also box looked like it was opened and used as a display helmet. This mask fogs quick in humid areas January 20, 2016 Was looking for a good quality mask that doesn't fog in humid, cold areas and this mask was a huge let down. This mask fogs really quick and thick to the point you cannot see your hand in front of your face. I swapped out the lenses and didn't take long (2 games) for the new lenses to fog up as well. I tried wearing a sweat headband and even installed fans. It still fogs. This mask is a lost hope for any kind of woodsball in humid/hot/cold areas. Save your money on this disappointment and get a E flex/pro flex. Comfortable, But Low Visibility April 26, 2014 These were comfortable, looked great, light weight. However, I found that the nose piece greatly inhibited visibility when looking left to right. Returned the Sly and went back to my ten year old JT Proflex (light weight) and Proto Switch (heavier, but great field of view). I would try them on before buying if possible. Not Bad, But Perhaps Not Worth The Price May 29, 2013 I recently had the pleasure of receiving this mask via mail. Amazon shipped it out quickly, the box was undamaged, and the delivery was even a few days earlier than previously suggested. Unfortunately, the mask is not what I expected in terms of quality. Upon taking it out of the undamaged box, I noticed the foam interior strip that rests around your eyes was almost completely pealed off and crinkled up. It was as if it was introduced to extreme heat which melted the factory glue or it is just made of faulty material. There is the possibility that I could glue it back on, but for the price, I would expects a better quality from a company like Sly. Also, the way it was crinkled up would make it quite difficult to reattach in a smooth and comfortable manner. The most disappointing part of this is the fact that I have a game this weekend and might not have a good mask via safety. I contacted Amazon and I am sure they will resolve the mask issue; however, I do not know if it will be in time for this weekend. In terms of the rest of the mask, it looks like it should do what it's designed to do. It is sturdy, seems well-ventilated, and is visually appealing (if that really matters to anyone). The only other issues besides the detached internal foam piece is perhaps the shaded lens itself and the mask's weight. On a bright day I assume the lens would be great; however, placing it to my face on today's cloudy day, it does distort your view to the point where I could see it as a hinderance on the field under shady, rainy or cloudy conditions. Still, if it is sunny, I assume it would be a great lens and place you at a slight advantage. That being said, I do believe the lens should be simple to change over if desired. In terms of the weight, after comparing it to past goggles I have owed (which are all but destroyed now), it is a bit on the heavy side. By no means it is extremely heavy though, so please take that into consideration. However, due to the increase in weight, I think I will be tightening the strap more than usual and potentially readjusting the mask's positioning during high-paced or hard play. I will update this review later if I get to utilize this mask over the weekend. In conclusion, it is a good mask, but perhaps not worth the price.Updated 05-29-13One day after receiving this mask and discovering the flaw in the interior foam, Amazon came through with flying colors and overnighted a new and non-flawed mask to my front door. My issue was resolved within 24 hrs. This is why I will always order from Amazon. Their costumer service and product resolution team is second to none. It looks as though I will have time to test this mask out for the weekend game after all. I hope this review helps.Updated 07-09-13After field testing this product (the new mask that amazon sent very quickly and with great customer service after experiencing foam flaws with the first one), I noticed a few issues, one being very severe. I will list the pros and cons below:Pros:-In general, the mask fits and holds well during play.-The interior tinted lens is good in fields with open and direct sunlight, but still functional in the shade.-You can wear a backwards baseball cap as padded protection for the top of your head (pass scalp line of the mask) and back of your neck quite easily with the elastic tightening strap.Cons:-Does not offer top of head protection (typical for paintball masks thus the cap comment above), lower neck protection (you should have something else to protect your jugulars since the front of the neck is widely exposed), and has very little coverage over the chin. It looks sleek, but they might have taken too much protection/coverage out to achieve that look.-SEVERE ISSUE - This model of mask fogs badly. Perhaps my mask was just flawed and maybe the interior lens had an invisible broken seal on its connection to the outer lens, or maybe the factory installed it and accidentally trapped moisture in between the two lenses which condenses in a heated environment, but in either case, the mask fogged so badly that it resulted in a bad wrist injury (via inability to see environment) and I later had to utilize my old mask (which I brought just in case) for the rest of the day. The sad thing is my old mask of 15 years fogs up too, and was the sole purpose of replacing it, but ironically, the new mask fogged up much worse. As a result, this mask could very well prove to be quite dangerous since you can't always see your environment nor see how to get back to the safety zone for maintenance. Also, for the price, you might as well buy a cheap mask and a high quality interior weather/defogging insert lens since that is all this product is. Thus, it is not really worth the price overall. However, if you get one that works, it might be worth it, but mine was not. Amazon is straightening out this issue and I am sure they will do a great job. I trust amazon, just not this product since it appears I have received two flawed masks of the same type. Therefore, buyer beware. A mask that fogs up makes you a sitting duck/target and places you in a dangerous position. You can't risk getting your eyes knocked out by cleaning the lens mid-game, and when you can't see anything the game loses its sporting and fun quality. Personally, and as discussed with amazon representatives, I will most-likely keep the new mask, rip out the interior lens and add a different one I know will work (thus added cost and maintenance). However, I wish I'd just save myself the trouble and had done the same thing to my old mask prior to investing time and money in this new mask. Lesson learned. The main thing I wish to convey in this review is that this product (at least in my case) could be flawed and/or dangerous. It resulted in a wrist injury for myself that should have been easily avoided. My wrist should heal fine in a few more weeks and I blame no one besides myself since paintball is a risky game after all, but when a mask fogs up that badly, I don't want others to get hurt just because this fogging issue was not noted prior to purchase. Once again, buyer beware. I hope this helps. | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
Two Star Reviews: | 4% The box looked like the included pictures December 15, 2016 The box looked like the included pictures. However, the mask was in a fuzzy little black bag, and appeared to be just fine. Sadly, the mask looks like it should have cost about $35... maybe the lenses are really good... I hope? The thing is, if the box is any indication that this mask can take a beating, then awesome. I'm sure my nephew will let me know this xmas. London Fog July 15, 2016 "Fog-Free" or "Fog Resistant" my b-hole. 10 minutes is all it took for this to fog up on my 13 year old son. He agrees with the other reviews though, it's like wearing a pillow. Insanely comfortable, just not as "fog-resistant" as we had anticipated. Happy with it August 28, 2015 I bought this product last year!!!! Happy with it !!! This time , i bought it for my brother. In the picture it looks tinted but it wasn't!!! Returning it!!! Your vision is compromised by the goggles frame and the nose piece making you feel like you are cross eyed January 18, 2015 This mask excels in comfort and style... however... the large lens is deceivingly gives it the appearance of a wide range of view however its anything but. Your vision is compromised by the goggles frame and the nose piece making you feel like you are cross eyed. not satisfied March 27, 2014 Does not fit like expected. Would like to return if possible. Seems to be made very cheap. Does not provide enough protection. | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
One Star Reviews: | 5% Crap/Scratched lense May 27, 2016 The lense was super scratched. I couldn't even see enough to play and had to ask for a rental. Mask looks great but the lense is crap. Seems like they purposely put a scratched up lense to get it out of their inventory. It didn't say in the Description that it comes with ... February 5, 2016 It didn't say in the Description that it comes with "clear lense" & in the picture it's a smoked out lense , product was okay just that was my upset FOG OF DOOM September 3, 2014 I loved this mask until I played on a humid day, at which point it fogged completely within five minutes every time I put it on. Game after game I'd wipe it out after playing, and it would fog again almost immediately after I put it on. I finally got so frustrated that I applied anti-fog solution to the interior of the lens -- violating the manufacturer's instructions -- and that did nothing to help (but probably ruined my lens). I tried two different lens, which were at the time unadulterated, and both fogged equally terribly. The problem, I think, is that the mask doesn't fit snugly against my cheek bones, letting my breath up into the lens area. My friend was playing in Dye i4s the same day, and had no fogging whatsoever, so I ordered a pair of i4s immediately upon getting home from the field. I think the Sly Proft is much, much more comfortable and awesome looking than the Dye mask, but nothing trumps visibility in a mask. (Also, for people on the fence about what to buy, consider the Virtue Vio and the V-Force Grill.) | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
