Five Star Reviews: | 69% PERFECT CHOICE August 31, 2017 Perfect choice for me, especially the price, for my short-time recovery use from total hip replacement surgery. My PT was pleased with my choice, as well (wheels on front only). It truly is lightweight, has lots of height adjustment; and the easy, secure, folding feature, was very much appreciated to get me to and from appointments. So surprised to see that the hospital is using this exact same walker. Had to add an ID tag to mine. Added on an Amazon "Health Mart Walker Basket" w/tray and cup holder, to help transfer items around the house. I mounted it on the INSIDE of the above mentioned Walker. Nice and secure with the included Velcro straps. Perfect size. April 19, 2017 Ordered this for my mother. It came quickly and was easy to assemble. I added the tennis ball yellow walker coasters. She is a tiny woman and this adjusted to fit her very well. It would adjust to fit a must taller person as well. Trim walker March 11, 2017 Trim walker. My therapist turned the wheels to be in the inside and it narrowed the walker's profile. Easy to use and fold up. It is like new! I have fitted it with a tray and a reacher from Amazon that work great. The problem is demounting everything to use it from the car.The answer for me is to buy a second one identical to the first. I use my cane to walk down specially built steps holding on to one rail and carrying my Saddlebag (Zippidy Walker Organizer from Amazon) and off to whereever (driven most of the time I'm afraid).It folds up easily by me loading it in and out of the car while holding on to the car with one hand. The old saying one hand for you and one for the ship applies here. It is very light and snaps open and shut easily. It can be done easily by others if you don't get the hang of it.The added covenience for both me and my family as well as the reduced imposition when I'd like to tag along made the second purchase well worth while.. I changed the rear leg tips to sliders asthe rubber tips that come with the walker doesn't glide very well over most surfaces and particularlydifficult over carpeted floors. September 22, 2017 These are very heavy duty. This is the second time I have bought them and it appears they are sturdier than before. Word of advice, don't wait until your old ones are worn down so far that the ski portion is falling off. If you do this they are tough to remove. My skis on the old pair broke off when trying to remove them. I needed to use a drill to break up the round base then a screw driver and hammer to shove the broken base into the tube to make room for the new skis. Very durable September 15, 2017 Very durable nylon ski glides, easy on & off. Use mostly outside, last about six months with my use. Some walkers may require a wrap of electricians/Teflon tape around the shaft insert in order to secure a tight fit & prevent twisting of the skis. The folding mechanism works smoothly. Unfortunately the walker was delivered with rubber caps on all 4 legs. Both the picture and the description call for wheels on the front legs.I purchased white plastic skis for the rear legs from a different seller.Update: The seller shipped wheels to my address at no cost. I changed my rating from 2 stars to 4 stars. Like this walker July 2, 2016 This walker is really lightweight and a lot narrower than others I looked at, so works well in my small house. Folds easily for transporting and storing. Excellent Price April 22, 2014 I priced this particular item at healthcare stores in my area. The best price I could find was around $150+. I really appreciated the low price of roughly $35. I felt pretty good at first, but I am a man weighing about 215 lbs and I sometimes put all my weight on the walker to move. I tends to break if I do that on uneven ground. When I say break, I mean it begins to wobble and one brace broke.That is the only thing I dont like about the walker, but all being said, it is the best deal I have come across. I would recommend it to anyone on a budget. Just will have to be careful about putting all your weight on it if you are on uneven surfaces. Very pleased! Good walker for the price May 25, 2011 Got this for my dad who needs a lot of support while walking. I did some research and found out that those rolling walkers with four wheels aren't ideal for someone who needs consistent, very sturdy walking support. I opted for the standard walker since he has the upper body strength but not lower body strength. This walker gives him just what he needs to get around his room and to/from the bathroom. Legs are adjustable, so you can customize it to your or your loved one's height. With its 2-wheels/2-non-wheeled feet, it works best on carpet. It is noticeably less smooth for use outdoors on uneven surfaces like asphalt.The walker is very lightweight and folds up very easily to fit either in the backseat or trunk of my compact car. There was some urgency to get this item right away for my dad, so I paid for one-day shipping, which ended up being almost as much as the walker itself. However, I got the package early the next morning as promised. It came well-packaged. The box was rather large but it was light because the contents are light. So far, so good with this walker. My dad's only been using it for about a 1 1/2 months and mainly indoors, so we'll see how it holds up over time. The rear slider caps are showing some wear but that's to be expected. Walker comes with 2 extra rubber slider caps.The only downside so far is that my dad had some difficulty navigating through the narrow doorways of his townhouse using this walker. Glide skis okay, but other walker accessories vary. April 2, 2015 No problem with the ski glides. However, I have a Drive walker and an Invacare walker. Invacare walker moves more easily and reliably than Drive.Bought trays for each and discovered the Drive tray is much superior to the Invacare tray, which has broken twice since I've had it. One thing to be aware of is that if you have area rugs, these ski slides will slip under the rug and cause a mishap very quickly and could easily cause a person to fall. Adequate but prone to shattering when putting it on. August 24, 2016 It's better than the rubber ends that came with the walker, but it doesn't slide easily on our carpeting. It's fairly good in the bathrooms which is where I wanted it for my wife's use. One of the four glides shredded near the top and I'm still finding fragments of it in the carpeting. I'm disappointed but it's not worth the bother to send them back. Tripping the light fantastic November 28, 2013 Would have rated them higher but the backs of the ski's extend out so that while walking I tend to step on them causing my walker to stop unexpectedly. The legs and frame feel a little wobbly when extended to the length I need for a correct height. I would look for one with a heavier frame or one built for taller people. It's light and it's pretty. One of the glides did not fit the walker legs properly and would not stay connected to either leg. So I had to constantly stop, bend down and reattach it. I was already unsteady on my feet after surgery--this product did not aid in my recovery. Doesn't fit August 19, 2013 Broken ankle and learning to walk again. Got a Drive walker to take me along this journey and thought these might help a bit it the transition. Received these in the mail today. Husband went to put them on/in the legs and snapped them in and they fell right out. Unusable really as sent. To little in cost to send back so a waste of money for something that is not a sure thing.My handy husband wrapped tape around the plug part and forced it in the leg to hold it there. One Star Reviews: | 7% Not Satisfied! December 20, 2016 All though the item arrived on-time it was missing the wheel extensions and the leg extensions in the box. This item was unusable for my mom. No wheels arrived November 5, 2016 My order did not come with wheels or the ability to adjust. Had to return it. The walker was a huge disappointment. I need to send it back August 16, 2016 The walker was a huge disappointment. I need to send it back. The leg extensions and "sliders" did not stay in place and when the walker was lifted slightly off the ground they would just fall out. I don't know if there were parts missing as the minimal instruction sheet gave little info about parts or assembly. I would not recommend this walker from Duro-Med. It broke the second day, cheaply built, and ... March 24, 2016 It broke the second day, cheaply built, and the folding operation broke the second and had to (and was lucky someone whould take it in trade and give me $15.00 allowance. | 10% not so good October 21, 2015 Unfortunately, these did not work as well, or last as long, as the more expensive ones I usually buy in a medical store. Glides hit a bump in the road. October 20, 2014 I purchased a pair of these in January. They were excellent and I would have rated them 5 stars if I had written a review at that time. However, after six months I noted that the glides were wearing down. I felt that they had given excellent service so I ordered two more sets. The new glides, although labeled "TopGlides", looked different both in their form and the type of plastic. The first set appeared to be nylon; the second order looked like polyethylene. When I replaced the worn set, I found that the replacement glides fit very loosely (many others have commented on this). They would easily rotate out of position. I cured this by using a soldering iron to melt a few spots on the edge of the inserted section so that it bulged out a bit. I used a hammer to lightly tap them in. This worked fine - the glides did not rotate. However, after a couple weeks of use I noted that the plastic was wearing very fast. Finally the forward (upturned) part of the gide snapped off. I replaced it and soon this snapped off as well. Eventually all replacements snapped off. It is clear that the quality of this product has changed dramatically for the worse.
