| Works beyond my expectations!September 20, 2017 I have been using this product since I had a bit of a mishap while trying to grow my hair. I am super glad I found this stuff.ACNEOkay so when I started taking these I read all about how people got acne, but I wanted to try it anyways because I was desperate for hair growth. I have super acne prone skin so I was very wary, and here's what i did to ease myself into it:- For the first 2 weeks I had one pill every other day (NOT every day) and I drank a ton of water (as suggested by other amazon reviewers. (I carry one of those camelback water bottles everywhere with me and it makes it super easy to get a bunch of water. If you don't have one buy one now! the kind with the straws.) Result: no difference in acne.- After two weeks I knocked it up to one pill every day.. continuing to drink a lot of water, which is better for your skin and hair anyways.. so you really should be doing it! Result: Less acne than normal (no acne problems at all!).- Then a month later I actually started taking this multivitamin alongside this biotin.. I didn't notice this, but the multivitamin had THE SAME dosage of biotin as this stuff.. so I was now taking 10,000mcg per day. Result: Teeny tiny little acne bumps started apprearing on my neck.. they were pretty itchy and I feel like this was the cystic acne that people were talking about. They weren't noticable at all, even my boyfriend couldn't see them, but they itched for about 3 days and then they went away completely. (Note: Once I realized how much biotin I was taking, I went online to check how safe it was and... it's actually totally safe!! There's no negative health effects to taking this much biotin, and the small acne bumps lasting for 3 days was the only side effect I saw.)CARCINOGEN?I saw someone post that this has a known carcinogen in it; "carogeenan". SUPER WRONG, Carrageenan is NOT a known carcinogen, you can look it up. Not sure why they didn't bother checking the facts first. My hair grew longer and thicker so I was very happy. But the last time I purchased this product the pills came a little more "oily" than usual (and I mean on the outside, they were sticky, not how they usually were the last 2 times I purchased). I know the bottle says they may appear "cloudy" because of the coconut oil but this last batch I got looked a little weird. They were cloudy on one side of the pill, and the other half of the pill was clear. I didn't think much of it so I still took them as recommended. And yes my hair grew BUT the pills would actually give me stomach aches. And that did not happen the 1st 2 times I ordered these before. So I do give these 4 stars ONLY because it worked in the past and I loved my long hair. Maybe this time I just got a "bad" batch. Once I finish this bottle I will order them ONE more time and see if they look different. If they still hurt my stomach and have a weird look to them, then I will stop buying them. If anything I like them less. a small percentage of people were complaining about these causing their face to break out. I almost never have skin issues but sure enough these caused me to break out. I take them every other day instead of everyday and that seems to help.
