Small in size, good for remote areas!
November 16, 2016
We bought two of these--both for areas where tv reception is iffy. In one area, we were able to get nine channels with fairly clear reception. In the other, we got three. Still, given the prices for cable tv, it's worth the cost. I love being able to watch the news in the morning instead of just getting reruns on Hulu. We live in an tiny town in the country over 60 miles away from any stations. People out here told us there was NO tv reception (and there are no antennas on roofs). We gave this a try anyway, and love getting our three channels!

This antenna is absolutely great! So many channels and they all come in great, even during hurricane Matthew. I have been through many antennas and this is by far the best so far. The motor is possessed and turns however it wants lol but I don't care cause it still works just takes a tad patience while tuning. No problem! I put it up on the roof on a 16ft pole.... fabulous.

cut the cable tool!
Great product!
June 29, 2016
We get all our local stations, as expected. I installed this last fall and it has withstood one of our wettest and windiest seasons yet; granted it is installed properly. The 150 mile range is bogus, as it cannot physically reach a signal further than it is projected (line of sight also plays a big part in this). There were however some low signals that my smaller/indoor antenna could not pick up that this one could, which is a bonus. All in all, you cannot go wrong with this deal! Great product!

This thing works great. It is relatively easy to install and does exactly what the product description says it will do. We get about 16 channels on it. It is a nice supplement to our cable service. We can switch from one to the other to get a wide range of regional stations.
It works
February 19, 2016
I was a little skeptical at first. Seems to be kind of cheaply made. One of the screws still had access material in the phillips slot rendering it unusable, but not a big deal I had a spare laying around and if I didn't it would've been fine with using just three.I'll be using this only indoors and honestly don't know how it would hold up outside here in MN. I doubt very well with all the plastic. Smaller than I expected but it works great. I've tried multiple different indoor antennas and non of them worked. If I remember right the longest range antenna I've tried before this had a 90 mile range and didn't work at all. This antenna I had to turn just right but I get all the channels in crystal clear with no interruptions. I couldn't be happier with this considering the price.

Very happy with this product
January 12, 2017
Very happy with this product. Love the long cord. I put the antenna directly on the window and after doing a channel scan was able to get 26 channels, I was very happy because I live in a rural area and didn't expect for it to get that many channels. I got my ladder out and put the antenna up another foot (thanks to the long cord that it comes with) did another channel scan and was able to pick up more channels. So now I get 33 channels total!! I have had satellite TV for years and every year the price goes up and it there is still nothing good on to watch. So I got rid of my $100 a month payment and now I get Free TV with this antenna.
The antenna came in a nicely packaged box
January 8, 2017
We live in North Phoenix and decided to purchase this due to the higher number of positive reviews. We wanted to get rid of cable and a lot of my neighbors said that they were able to get numerous channels using a 40 mile antenna.

The antenna came in a nicely packaged box. The instructions were very clear. At first I did not place it near the window, and still the antenna picked up about 4-5 channels. Later on, I kept it near the window facing the South (because that is where the TV towers were) and did an Autoscan. Presto - about 40+ channels came to light! Of these 40, about 30 were clear and the remaining were not. I noticed that if I moved the antenna around, the other 10 were clear, but a few of the 30 channels were not. My wife and I picked on the channels we were likely to watch, and included a few kids channels as well, so we adjusted the antenna. Once we were comfortable, we fixed the antenna on the window. I had to use the power adapter to boost the signals.

I am happy with this purchase.

Note: Once you get a good number of channels, make a note of the position of the antenna so if you do move it around to experiment and you are not successful, you can go back and place it where it was before.
Received 60+ channels!
August 23, 2016
This antenna was VERY easy to install and hang on the wall. At first, I tried laying it flat on our tv stand and running the channel search (which did give us quite a few channels), but then when I hung it on the wall and ran the search, we received double the amount of channels and have a better signal! We don't want cable or satellite and were content even if we just got a few channels. We live in the Midwest so there are a lot of trees, but we get a great signal even without the antenna being attached to the window. We were able to get about 60 channels with this antenna!
Works like a charm
August 16, 2016
We got this JUST so we could watch MeTV...and it works perfectly! The station tower is 35 miles away and we get everything picture perfect. There are a lot of channels available, but we only use it for MeTV so I cannot speak to the others, but that station quality will depend on your distance from them, I think. For our purposes, this was perfect. It installed in seconds. Literally, just plug it in and select the input on the TV. Ours sits on a shelf 15 feet within the interior of the house, not stuck to a window or exterior wall.
Works great but don't expect to pick up channels 50 miles away.
February 5, 2016
New cord-cutter here. Looking at the signal locater map on the TVfool website, I concluded I needed a 50 mile range antenna. I'm 9 miles from the nearest transmitter, with most being about 20 miles away. I'm exactly 50 miles away from a major city but I was not hoping to pick up those signals. This is because the 50 mile rating is line of site, meaning it's the expected range with no objects in the way. I live in a single story house with a good deal of trees around. I would likely need an attic or outdoor antenna rated around 75 miles if I wanted to pickup signals from towers 50 miles away.

With this antenna I am able to pickup 36 channels. The tower transmitting ABC is the farthest one that I'm able to pickup without pixelation. This one is 35 miles away. Surprisingly, it was not coming in clear with the antenna hung in the window as recommended in the instructions but it comes in perfectly with it on top of a bookcase in a corner. After relocating it, I now get all major networks in HD quality, plus a bunch of other channels of varying appeal.

I am using the amplifier and it does make a difference for me but it's recommended that you try it with and without the amplifier since it's usefulness is going to depend on your specific location. All in all, I ended up spending about 45 minutes to test the antenna in different locations. I will now be returning my cable box with a smile.

Great antenna! Great price?
May 29, 2016
My honest review of the best choice products hdtv rotor remote outdoor antenna. I purchased this antenna at full price and did not receive a discount or free antenna in exchange for this review. I am about sixty five miles from the nearest broadcast station and live in a densely wooded Forrest with trees much higher than I could ever mount an antenna. I was very happy and surprised by this little inexpensive antenna and received many more channels than I thought would be possible. As a recent cord cutter I wasn't sure how well I'd fair without paying an outrageously expensive cable television bill but with this antenna it's been no trouble. I received every channel of broadcast TV that I wanted but started getting greedy and have experimented with dozens of mounting locations and angles for this antenna and managed to squeeze out some very distant signals. At one point I had left the antenna laying in the yard facing the sky and still got many stations crystal clear. I have used the remote control to aim the unit many times and find it invaluable but a bit touchy and sometimes a strong wind will move the direction and it will need adjustment. I have regrettably upgraded to a much more expensive and larger antenna mounted on my roof which only gets me half the channels this one did! I will be reordering this antenna and junking the big fancy name brand one. I only had the best choice products hdtv antenna mounted for one year so I can't speak to its longevity but at this price versus a cable bill it's a no brainer.Again this is my honest review of the best choice products hdtv rotor remote outdoor antenna, I did not receive a discount or free antenna or other product in exchange for this honest unbiased review. For this low price I would not hesitate to purchase more of these antennas
Reception is awesome where with another antenna was bad, but don't buy it for the motor especially for outside
December 13, 2015
Why 4 and not 5 stars? The rotation isn't as great as you might think... not what i expected.I bought this to replace a garbage omni directional anetnna (the one that looked like a UFO). I still wanted to install it in the Attic, not outside. After reading numerous reviews, this antenna does not seem to do well outside; the motor seems to break easy, this way being indoors i thought it would last. The motor does rotatate the antenna and it seems that when it reaches it's peak it automatically reverses which is cool. what i don't like is that a simple quick press of the button does not turn the antenna 1mm or so like i thought. the jumps are a bit big.. plus the button on the box doesn't follow an exact pattern. so if the box is in the room and the antenna is in the attic sometimes hitting the button 4 times it makes the antenna rotate L, L, L, R. instead of L, R, L, R.As soon as i plugged everything up the box had an orange light lit. My house is wired for 5TV's and i have an amplified splitter. I had the MAIN TV cable come into the box and then to the TV. being amplified my guess is this doesn't work or the fact it came from the splitter. So i changed the hook up. Now i had cable from the antenna go to the BOX, then TV1 to the MAIN TV and TV2 to the splitter.... The antenna now rotated, but nothing worked. I got no channels on any TV. I went back to my old set up, but placed the box up in the attic which disables the purpose of having the ability to rotate the antenna from inside the house. i can see there's 3 lights, green, red and orange but the manual doesn't detail what these things mean. When you use the remote the red always stays on (so it must be power) and the green light goes on. But most of the time it would crash, and i would need to turn off the box and turn it back on. after a good half hour of getting irritated with the box, i brought a TV up to the attic and just rotated the antenna by hand. the motor also leaves a lag where once tighten, you can still turn it a bit... i can imagine how this acts outdoors with wind... it probably shakes giving you poor reception if you tighten down your antenna on the edge of a good/bad signal.I still can't get channel 6 (ABC) and i'm 55 miles from the city of Philadephia. I do have lots of trees, buildings, an airport and i'm sure other things in the way... i live in Trenton NJ and between here and Philly there are penty of obstacles in the way. Oddly enough the signal worked best when i pointed the antenna downwards a bit. from the angle i would way say in 100 feet it hits the grass; but it works. In the event you didn't know, most TV's have a signal checker which helped to tune the antena. I tunned to a previous bad channel and the best i got was 20. Channel 10(NBC) which was always my best channel comes in with a 28. (i believe it's out of 30 - Samsung TV's).By the way the front of the antenna is the part with the loops. The instructions state to bolt something to the back whiCih i still don't know what. There is a slot and a screw hole but after a few videos i cannot figure out what goes back there.1 of my screws was stripped and the package only contained 5 silver screws when you need 9 (though the one hole i have no idea what goes in it, so i see it as it came with 4 but i needed 8). I was able to find some in my random screw collection.Right now, despite all of the problems i mentioned above i get clear reception and the channels i once had where the other antenna failed, this one gets them clear, therefore it's a 4 out of 5 for me. I didn't care much for the motor and coudlnt find any information in regards if it worked with a splitter and amplification therefore i took a gamble on it. If it craps out like the other one, i'll adjust my review. This review was written on 12/13/2015. I"ll update some photos when i get a chance.
Love this for the money

This antenna,I instaled ontop my motorhome. I go south for winters, and i pull several channels soonafter gettg out of mtns.,and40+/channels crystal clear, when in Florida.Love this for the money.I will say that the only reason i give this a 4/star,instead of a 5,is that i am in my motorhome yr/round,and while in Pa,i am in the mountains and this antenna willnot bringin hardly any stations, which is ok-me,as i put a tower/antenna with booster behind my site,in the woods.

There are different models of Sky 1666
March 6, 2015
I installed this same antenna for a friend and it worked so well, I ordered one for myself. Well, the one I received was different! Same model number Sky1666 however, it was in a different box and had different materials/parts. The antenna looks the same but, the coaxial cable was shorter and the signal booster is different. Also, it does not work near as well. His picks up 47 channels and mine only picks up 18 channels. We are in the same travel park ( only 300' from each other) the terrain is flat and there are no trees between us of any size. We are about 60 miles from Tampa and 35 miles from Fort Myers. His antenna is about 5' higher in elevation than mine but, he was given 75' of coax and I received 10 meters (32.8') coax! So, I can not raise mine any higher. It does work slightly better than my RV antenna (with an after market power booster). We are going to switch boosters and see if there is any difference. Also, there are 2 TV antenna out puts and only the TV 1 out put works....unless a TV most be hooked up to both for both to work. There antenna is mostly plastic and thin metal in construction and is fairly compact.,there was no packing in between the inner space and outer box during shipping.....I am not sure what all that rattling does to the electronics.I would make sure I purchase the one with a 75' coax....if, I ordered another one. Not too pleased with the reception of only 35 miles with mine when my friends gets Tampa stations.Oh, mine only has 4 rings in directional front. Some have 5!

Pretty close to perfect
May 23, 2017
This antenna works very well. Got lots of channels and all came in clear once I found the perfect spot for it. The only reason I gave it a 4-star instead of a 5-star is the way it attaches to the wall. You think you have the perfect spot and when you walk away you realize you have to move it. The sticky tape may take off a bit of wall paint and weakens each time you move it. Be sure you have extra sticky tape because you may have to replace it. I wish it had a stand of some sort. Mine fell a few times when the sticky tape got weak. It's currently lying in a box near the TV until I get more tape. With a stand, it would look better and be easier to manipulate. But definitely worth the money.
It Works

I had my doubts about this antenna. I had bought a 40.00 antenna and was only able to pick up 12 channels. I live just 30 miles west of DC so I thought the 50 miles Amplified antenna would be best and at first I was only able to get about 19 channels but the more I moved it around to different locations and then rescan for channels, the more channels I was able to pick up. Keep in mind every time you move the antenna, you have to rescan for channels. I am able to pick up 37 channels. The more I moved it around the more channels I was able to get. So for me it works.

I purchased this antenna so my kids can watch PBS kids and I can watch the Olympics this summer and it more than serves the purpose! The antenna has been great and allows me to get all of the other local channels as well. I have mounted the antenna on the wall and I periodically have to adjust it slightly but for the most part, I can just leave it. Since it is just a flat rectangle, it is not obtrusive or ugly in the room. The best part is that there are no rabbit ears to worry about adjusting and breaking!
I now have THREE of these.
February 11, 2016
After receiving one of these as a gift for my new smart TV this Christmas, and being so excited that I could now get my local news channels plus about 15 other channels I wasn't expecting, I decided to purchase two more for the other two televisions in my house. The picture quality is amazing with these digital signals. It isn't cable though - you are going to get some "meh" reception with certain weather conditions, and sometimes I have to re-scan to update my channels. I don't mind at all - I have not missed cable TV in almost two years.
Not bad at all for as simple as it is.
January 4, 2016
Wanted to try something simply to see how off air stations were in our semi rural area as Roku and other streaming media doesn't give local news. The antenna is a very simple semi conductor sheet which came with some stickers to mount it, no suction cup. I'm a avid radio operator and could of whipped up something super duper but for the cost of this one I figured why not. So far it works well, we get 12 off air digital channels that come in as they should... the whole mile rating ratio simply means that in best possible conditions it may pick signal at a given range... but I won't go into that. The antenna is very flat which makes it fairly directional, so if you get on like this if may work best if you point the front and back towards areas you know will have more transmitters. In our case Detroit and Toledo. I hide mine behind a painting and it still works well. Also the amplifier included was no benefit.

Ok antenna
November 24, 2015
It's an ok antenna but no where near the 150 miles range it states. I live where there are no hills and minimal trees and I would say in the right conditions it would have a max range of 50 to 60 miles.

Not bad....good signal grab....made poorly
October 31, 2015
It grabs signal great! But....is a very flimsy construction....dont like how you only have 1 line coming from the antenna and then had to go into a box inside the house to run a 2nd tv thus meaning ya have to run another cable...works good but needs to be more sturdy
You get what you pay for.
April 17, 2015
Packaging is less than professionble the attatching screws were just thrown in the box, i ended up being short 1 screw for the motor to the antenna (fortunatly being a hobbiest i had one the right size). The motor itself rotates whatever direction it wants to so i manually pointed in the direction where i would get the channels i needed. Overall the reception is quite good but would i recommend this product? No.

December 28, 2014
Brings in 12 stations where previously I could receive none. The "rotator" remote does not work, the "rotator" unit works sometimes, but the direction it turns changes randomly, sometimes clockwise, sometimes counterclockwise, sometimes the same direction multiple times. In a nutshell, if you can't see the antenna as you work the control, you'll never get anywhere. Since the amplifier is apparently in the same box as the "rotator", you have to leave it connected, so I blew off the gadgetry and just pointed the antenna by twisting the pole manually. If you don't mind flakey rotators, antenna works fine. But if you aren't prepared to rotate your antenna manually, I'd hesitate on this one.

June 3, 2016
So..... I bought this because I broke the rabbit ear antenna I had on my HD TV. Surprisingly the rabbit ears picked up a lot of HD stations, not all but a lot. I figured "Hey this is an HD antenna, this should work", and even opted for the 50 mile range one. Well, in essence it works. But.... not as good as I expected with it being amplified. Putting it on my window with a clear view of the sky didn't help either. Local HD stations worked better with the Rabbit ears. It gets my local stations but they come out distorted at times. I did get a lot more HD stations when I did the channel scan on my TV. But the extra stations are pretty much mute if the real station you want to watch doesn't work most of the time. I haven't tried to mount the antenna indoors and on the wall. Honestly, I've just ignored regular TV for Netflix, its not like there is anything good on TV these days.

June 2, 2016
I purchased this for my house as my husband and I didn't want to pay for cable! We live about 30 miles from the nearest broadcast tower, so I figured I would up to the 50 mile antenna just to be safe. Setup was quick and easy. It was able to find about 14-17 different channels where we live. I am a little upset that it won't find NBC or PBS, which come in just fine at my parent's camper that is 30 more miles from our house (maybe they have a higher strength antenna?) It just kind of peeves me... We've also experienced some trouble when the weather is windy or stormy out; the picture just doesn't come in that well. For the price, I think it's a good antenna, but I think I might try something else for our other TV or get something a little of higher power.
but 50 mile range seems like a stretch
February 8, 2016
No doubt this thing is cheaply made and it does somewhat work, but 50 mile range seems like a stretch. I live in a major metro area and am within 12 miles of most of the TV broadcast towers. This brought in about 2/3 of the stations but would still have frequent drop outs. The amplifier didn't seem to help as we couldn't see a different between it plugged in or not. Ended up getting an RCA yagi antenna with no amplifier and am getting perfect reception now. If you have an attic or place to put an antenna on the roof, get a bigger yagi antenna instead.
MUST be by window or outside to get full signal, doesn't benefit in attic.
November 16, 2015
Product does work, it DOES NOT work 50-60 miles like the box says... the tower is 13 miles from me in florida, and I get about half the channels that that broadcasts. the amplifier does work well, and for the money I do get 20 channels, 90% clean signal, but some chop and blackout randomly.. Best bet is to get an outside unit for a little more money..

The cable that comes with it is a joke, its TINY! theres no such thing as a high performance COAX cable, its a tiny maybe 22-24 gauge wire with no shielding so it will pickup any interference...

I tried it installed in the attic by a shutter and it didn't get any better signal than inside behind the TV. In the window it works great but nobody in their right mind is going to have it stuck in their window unless you have your blinds cover it and neighbors don't care...

all in all for 22 bucks it works, not well but works.. just having the amplifier hooked up picks up 20 channels without the antenna!!!
cheap, but barely worth it for amplified version
November 5, 2015
This antenna worked only slightly better than non-amplified antenna I already owned. To get the same signal strength as my old antenna, I had to mount this one high up on the wall in my apartment, nearest to the outside of the apartment. I tried on the window next to the wall as well. Same signal strength whether mounted to wall or window. Looked horrible in window so i'm leaving it mounted on wall next to wall. Going to try the Homeworx antenna next, as i've seen some reviews saying it works as well as this amplified one. I doubt it will, but it's only about 7 bucks with prime shipping so it's throw away at that price. That's another thing that irked me about this order. I paid for 2 day prime shipping, ordered it last Saturday and it didn't arrive till Wednesday. Why am I paying for prime, and this is marked as Prime 2 day shipping, if it's going to take that long to get here. I'm just trying to test antenna's during my time off. Feels like a waste of my time.

I scanned channels using Clearstream 4 antenna and picked up 50 channels though some "pixelated". So I hooked upBest Choice and it picked up most of the channels CS-4 did but not the pixelated ones. The rotor doesn't tell youwhere the antenna is pointing and the buttons turn it wherever they want with no rhyme or reason so I end up turningit manually. If they could fix the remote rotor problem, I'd be interested in trying again but for now the CS-4 is better.Best Choice gave me a $15 partial refund and said not to bother sending it back (it would have cost me $22 tosend it USPS) so I am out the $22 whether I send it back for $37 full refund or take the partial refund.

Just say NO unless you live next door to the broadcaster.
July 14, 2017
If you live 50 miles from your TV station, you'd be better off trying to pick up signal with your tooth fillings. It actually worked better with the amplifier left out of the signal path. I'm only about 15 miles from major stations and it picked up almost nothing.
Limited use antenna
January 16, 2017
The antenna did not perform as described in the advertisement. The antenna worked only when placed high in a window that was facing the direction of the TV broadcast antenna. Would not work in the interior of the house even though the broadcast signal originated less than 20 miles away. Must have an unobstructed line of site view of the signal antenna. I would recommend this antenna only if it can be placed in a window facing the direction of the tv broadcast signal....otherwise it will be a waste of time and money.
Go with another brand
December 10, 2016
Purchased the 50-mile version from a Black Friday deal. Easy to install, but I have to say I was not impressed. We thought this would be an upgrade from a 20-mile Amazon brand we used, but immediately saw that we LOST channels. I figured I would give it a few weeks, play with the amplifier, move it around to different locations in the house... but it still gets shaky reception on most of the main local channels and even worse reception (sometimes no reception at all) on the others. Switched back to my Amazon brand and channels showed up without a problem.
Needs to be used in a high spot in your home
April 1, 2016
I did not get good reception on the lower floors of my home where I needed it. It was installed in multiple windows but I did not get the channels I expected. When installed higher in my home there were several more channels available but I really needed it to work on the first floor. Not good for my situation but if you plan to use it on a higher level of your place it will probably work fine.

Not a good purchase
September 15, 2017
Had it for a year now and nothing but problems. Original box with antenna came broken and without a power cord. When I contacted company I received a new power box and still no power cord. Rotary does not work from box or remote. Single is easy disrupted even when a car drives by!
Buyer Beware *** Only a 60-day Warranty
December 14, 2016
My Antenna stopped working 2 weeks outside of their unadvertised 60-day warranty. Signal dropped to almost nothing, yellow light on control box and antenna no longer rotated. At first I was told that my Antenna was only designed to rotate until a signal was found and then never again. After I detailed and pressed the issue I was sent some parts as a "one-time curtesy" that did not resolve my issue. My antenna is now in the garbage. Hopefully Best Choice isn't your only choice.

Though all parts were easy to install and appear to be working I could no receive any antenna receptions. My location was 50 miles from two major cities here in the United States

Cost of being cheap
August 25, 2017
Not worth it. Believe me... I went through 2 antennas, spend close to $40, had tons of glitches, played he fool trying to get a better reception and nothing. But that is the cost of being cheap, maybe not the product's fault. I settled for a 70 mile range omnidirectional that cost almost the same. Now I get 50+ channels with no glitch. Learned my lesson.
Arrived with postage due. Come on!

Ordered this to try to increase the number of channels we get with our regular antenna. We got no more channels after installing. But that only took one star away out of 5. This package arrived with postage due. The retailer was not diligent in putting enough postage so that I, the customer, had to pay money to get our product. That is really what gave it a one start.
Didn't work for me.

For an antenna that supposed to be 50 mile range was horrible. I could barely get any channels. The ones that I did get were choppy and hard to watch. The antenna is also huge! I returned mine within two weeks and purchased a new one from a different company. Ironically the new one works 100% better, cost only $6.00, and is only 25 mile range.

Great idea but unless you are very close to the broadcast tower and have a line of sight....forget it. I had an old telescopic antenna that came with an old 1990's tv and thought this would be better...NOT! Actually worse! And I did go on antenna web and check the distance recommendation and this unit should have been able to pick up the signal with ease. It's going back.
Crap - save your money!

Complete piece of junk, waste of time ... I had a $5 one that worked better than this ... plugged it in to 2 different tvs in 2 separate places in the house, tried the antenna in a variety of locations, got ZERO channels. Don't waste your time and money folks, you'll be sorely disappointed.
