Five Star Reviews: | 76% Years of use and still going... August 31, 2017 I bought this thing years ago and it is still working. After about the first 3-5 years the key started sticking and I was afraid it would stop unlocking while on my steering wheel but then I sprayed a bit of WD40 in the key hole and it has worked fine for years since. I'm surprised it has lasted as many years as it has. When mine starts to fail I will buy this same one to replace it. The Club 1100 LX Series Steering Wheel Lock,... Winner International June 6, 2017 this is much better that the reviews, it doesn't stink, it's not sticky, and the keys are metal. maybe they upgraded, i love it works as advertised Very Satisfied June 3, 2017 Bought a new Toyota Camry SE...Already had low jack but to activate costs around 700.00 dollars and still doesn't prevent it from being stolen...so i saw this newer version of the club stronger with laser cut keys...i've used the older version on my old Toyota pickup and it has worked out ok but this is the newer improved version...so i thought I'd give it a try...so easy especially for a woman that doesn't want anything complicated..just slide across the steering wheel and it locks automatically....couldn't be any easier...Go for it!!! You wont be disappointed....I went with the chrome version...Nice.. Helps to keep dirtbags from stealing what you worked hard for! January 29, 2017 Some piece of garbage tried to steal my Suburban late at night so the Police recommended I purchase this to help protect myself. So far my Suburban is still in the driveway! Awkward as a billy-club December 8, 2016 Haven't had my car stolen in the 1/2 year I've had this. Securing and unsecuring the device has become an autonomic response. Super easy. Except the one time I whacked myself with it as I tried to grab my coffee cup when I dropped it. It really hurt and I didn't succeed in saving my coffee. That was a bad day. Anyway, feels solid. The greatest testament is that I replaced the Club model that ... April 29, 2015 I had the Ultra Club for over 20 years until one of the keys became stripped and no longer worked. The Club 1100 LX is the current replacement. It is an outstanding deterrent and works perfectly. The greatest testament is that I replaced the Club model that I had with the current version. I highly recommend The Club. | 63% Bought this for my dad after my brothers car was ... July 31, 2017 Bought this for my dad after my brothers car was stolen in NY. He uses it all the time now. It works well and gives a lot of peace of mind and confidence in street parking vehicles all the time in NYC. Would rate higher then a 5 if I could. April 29, 2017 It stopped my Honda Civic from being stolen.Very good product, would highly recommend to friends.I ended up buying 3 and gifting it to my friends who had theft problems in the past. Solid purchase December 11, 2016 Works as it should and easy to use. It's gotta have a little wiggle to it to prevent the lock from sticking. Won't prevent a thief from smashing a window but will deterr them from stealing your vehicle.I have adjustable pedal in my f150. If you have adjustable pedals... you have to move them all the way up and the steering column all the way down. if you don't it is pointless to purchase this.Takes me about 30 to set and lock and about 5 seconds to remove. Excellent product if you have an older vehicle that does ... September 25, 2016 Excellent product if you have an older vehicle that does not have an alarm system or if you just want that added form of protection on your vehicle. It keeps the steering wheel lock to the brake pedal so even if they are able to get into your vehicle they won't be able to go anywhere unless they break the lock. Apparently all earlier model Jeeps are hot commodities because they are easy to steal March 17, 2016 So I live in a metro area, and my Jeep Liberty was stolen. Apparently all earlier model Jeeps are hot commodities because they are easy to steal. After I got it back, I purchased this and the The Club 1000 Original Club Steering Wheel Lock, Red. Sure enough, 6 months later my car was broken into again... but this time it was at least still there. Will it prevent your car from being broken into by s***head teenagers? No. Will it prevent said teenagers from stealing it? Yes. Now a days when you think the alarm is good enough. Think again April 28, 2015 Can't go wrong with one of these. Now a days when you think the alarm is good enough. Think again! Club it up. Yes it is a hassle but well worth it. You can put security cameras outside your house the works and at night or in the day they will strike. Club it and no one is going anywhere also don't have iPhones or iPad in view. Always take out your personals. | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
Four Star Reviews: | 16% Fits and Works as Expected August 10, 2017 Hefty construction and sensible design. For a universal fit bar, it fits our 2005 Dodge Ram well. The Club 1102 LX Series Steering Wheel Lock May 4, 2017 I can't really give this 5 stars, mostly because I can't say for sure if it works. It is super heavy duty, and probably just having it in my car would deter a thief. But short of having someone actually trying to steal my car I can't say with certainty.I can say that it looks very nice, the color is pretty, and it is much nicer quality than the standard Club I had previously. I've also not had the stickiness problem of my last Club.Overall, as much as I didn't want to pay $50 for it, it seems like a solid investment if you live or work in an area with a lot of crime. Solid Tool September 22, 2016 Solid tool as with the others in this product line. I like the key "technology". Easy to attach and lock-up. No problem getting undone. Works well September 19, 2016 While a pro can steal anything they want, hopefully this will prevent an amateur from even making an attempt. It goes on and off easily. Visual Deterrent. April 18, 2015 Bought this after an attempted break in resulted in a shattered window. Figured that this would at least deter visually from any further attempts on my trusty little car. Remember my parents having these on cars in the past, they must be working if they are still around :) Gotta love the red color! | 21% Works great December 21, 2016 Works as intended; red paint easily peeled off especially where it hooks onto the brake pedal. One or two reviewers said they were locked out by the club. For this reason I have to be cautious so when I use mine, I try not to hook or lock it too tightly. I haven't had a single issue as yet. It is very sturdy so I think it will last. Works well will not stop someone from stealing your vehicle but it will slow them down I installed a hidden kill switch that won June 1, 2016 Works well will not stop someone from stealing your vehicle but it will slow them down I installed a hidden kill switch that won't stop a criminal but it will slow them down if they wanted they will get it just don't make it easy for them extra safety measure. February 4, 2016 this thing meets its purpose. my brake pedal is very well hold up.since my truck wont start if the brake is not pressed down it gives me some tranquility.also the steering wheel is hold fairly tight so it wont move.the only thin I don't like is the fact that the distance from the brake pedal to the wheel is fairly long.so I need to remove the black part from the red part in order to set the thing.but for sure I recommend this product. Visible Deterrent, Low Price January 6, 2016 For the price you can't complain much. It's a visible deterrent, which is why I got it. Gotta figure it's one more thing a would-be thief would have to deal with if they wanted to steal your car. That's one more thing that would make them want to move on to the next car. Do yourself a favor and take the keys to the lock WITH YOU. A lot of people leave them in the car and I'm sure thieves know that. If you're going to leave them in the car, hide them well. Don't put them in your glove or cup holder. How my Red and Dr Hook met! November 7, 2013 I love my truck and I have proudly given her the name "Red", and I have owned her since 1989 when I purchased Red brand spanking new. I have had an alarm put in her and that's always work with no problems, until! One night this last summer, some brazen individuals, tried to steal my Red from me. Don't get it wrong, Red is as Beautiful today as she was the first day we met. I have loved her dearly. Of course Red and I have had our ups and downs, but what good relationship doesn't (right). Anyway! Whoever the scoundrels were, broke Reds windows, destroyed her keyholes, and tore up her ignition pretty bad. I didn't care too much about the stuff they actually stole. I'm just glad Red wasn't taken from me (I shouldn't have gone on that trip). It gave me a big scare. I mean take my wife please but leave my Red alone. So after putting Red back together, as Beautiful and as sexy as ever, I wanted a little more extra protection. I had a new alarm put in her and for extra protection (you never know when you need it) I thought; Dr Hook would help protect my Beautiful Red a little more. I feel more comfortable now. Red is my Baby; and Dr Hook is going to help me feel secure, that nobody will take my Red from me. | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
Three Star Reviews: | 1% Okay so far November 28, 2014 I won't if this works until someone tries to steal my SUV. Until that time, which I hope never comes, The Club should deter a thief because of the time needed to remove it or cut the steering wheel. What I know so far:(1) The unit weighs more than others listed on Amazon, and has a larger diameter than others I looked at locally.(2) The plastic coating was covered with an oily substance, and it reeked. It was easily removed using two household wipes.(3) Each of the three keys with it work.(4) The directions are well written and easy to follow.(5) No problems putting it on, or removing it from the steering wheel.(6) Registration requires that you cut out a form from the instruction sheet, complete it, and mail it with a sales receipt.Minus one star for the bad smelling oil, which is not explained in the directions. Minus a second star for no online registration. I'll update this review if I learn the reason for the smelly oil substance or see anything adverse.12/3/2014 - it can be installed to the back of the steering wheel so it's not resting on top of the air bag. This positions the lock away from you, but it's still easy to unlock and lessens the chance of damaging the center of the steering wheel. Got a Club LX but someone wasn't paying attention to the color I ordered. November 19, 2013 It wasn't blue, it was chrome. that's OK but when I order something I expect to get what I ordered. | 7% Could be 3-4" longer. August 21, 2017 I figured for twelve bucks, and having an easy to steal 09' Jeep Patriot, I bought it. It could be 3" longer though. What I have to do now is wrap one piece around the brake pedal, the other piece around the steering wheel and try to wiggle the two together in the middle. It works - just a pain. My Patriot is not a massive SUV, just a step up from a compact. But for 12 bucks, it can save you a lot of headaches in the long run. If I drove every day - I'd find something else. Works, but.... March 17, 2017 For the price, it works. Seems flimsy though. If could do over, would get something else. I just use it as a decoration(looks like the steering wheel is locked) February 5, 2017 Not suit for steering wheel, totally no use. I just use it as a decoration(looks like the steering wheel is locked) Tractor Use October 22, 2016 Bought it for my tractor when that vehicle is left in the field overnight and works fine. I don't know how long it would take to saw through the lower metal but highly practical to stop am impulse thief. Good but key gets stuck sometimes July 5, 2014 I have been using this for over a year on my trucks, which have manual transmission. 1st I used it on a 2005 Ford F-150, now I used it on a 2003 Dodge Ram. The concept is simple, lock your wheel then hook it to the clutch or brake pedal. If someone wants to cut the steering wheel they can, but for the price this will deter the casual, unprepared opportunistic thief. Now, for the bad, they key sticks. I have used WD-40 and the it still sticks. The lock seems to be very sensitive to tension in the rod, for example if the rod is very tight on brake & steering wheel (which is should be in theory) the lock won't turn. You have to wiggle it incessantly to get it to loosen the lock up. This is VERY annoying when you are in a hurry. I am concerned I may lock myself from using my own vehicle. This has happened repeatedly, so I can duplicate the issue. So keep that in mind. | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
Two Star Reviews: | 4% The Clumsy Club April 24, 2017 Too clumsy to operate and heavy. I've never used it once but will in case of roadtrips. like key to be coated with rubber like it used ... February 17, 2016 CLUB OK. like key to be coated with rubber like it used to be years ago. The vinyl chemicals actually reacted with my steering wheel. ... March 10, 2015 The vinyl chemicals actually reacted with my steering wheel. There are actually marks on my steering wheel because the coating came off. This is from the first time I put it on! I can't seem to remove the residue... I wrapped it with tape to prevent further reaction. Such a drag...On the bright side, my car is not stolen yet. Rubber coating sticks to steering wheel. April 16, 2013 I want to use the device, but I have run out of means to try to protect my steering wheel from getting damaged by the sticky rubber coating the device. When it sticks to the coating on the steering wheel it pulls the coating material and causes surface damage. Additionally, the weight of the long end applies too much pressure causing a dent in the soft surface of the steering wheel. Its a brand new car, so its not the fault of a deteriorating steering wheel. Also, the packaging has a tiny sticker which notes that California has recognized a component in the product as causing cancer, and then goes on to recommend washing your hands after handling the Club. This is not noted anywhere in the Amazon description. Buy It On Sale For Peace of Mind. Not For the Warranty or Guarantee February 27, 2011 I've bought 2 of these clubs in the last several years when they were on sale. I still don't understand how it stops someone from driving, but for $30 it gives me a little peace of mind. I would not pay more. The first one failed after 3 years. One day the lock mechanism just broke. The second one has worked fine for about 4 years now, cross my fingers. But the warranty and their "guarantee" are a joke.Their product warranty is only 90 days, that doesn't speak highly of the quality.Their "guarantee" is: if your car is stolen with the club attached within 12 months, they will pay your insurance deductible if you have a claim. But ONLY within 12 months of purchase. After 12 months, if your car is stolen they won't cover you.So if you can get one on sale or with a rebate, it's worth it for peace of mind. But if you can buy a better one for the same price, with a better warranty and insurance guarantee, I would get a different brand. | 3% still prefer the cross the steering wheel club. October 6, 2017 it was a pain to set up and lock. maybe thats the charm of it as it would take a theif longer to unhook it.... if it was locked correctly!there's quite some chance that this can get locked incorrectly and then some theif could just wiggle it loose.yes it is a visual deterrent but the handle thats facing up is black? and the red is facing the brake pedal? i think it would be more visual if all of it was red. also the keys and lock seem rather cheap compared to the Click-it i got a decade ago from the same company. Might work on your kids. August 15, 2017 Literally the day after I placed this on my vehicle, I came to find it laying in the pavement in pieces. If you have a real problem with theft, this in not the device you want. Two Stars May 15, 2017 Did not fit from peddle to steering wheel. Had to fit from steering wheel to frame The lock opened easily and smoothly until yesterday July 23, 2016 This worked well for awhile. The lock opened easily and smoothly until yesterday. I went to unlock it and it was totally jammed (I tried all the usual remedies). I live in Las Vegas and it was 114 degrees yesterday and probably about 140 or 150 in the car, I can't help but think this had to be the reason for the jam. Perhaps there was some small plastic part in the lock mechanism that melted, I don't know but I wouldn't buy this if you live in a very hot climate. The locking mechanism is of VERY poor quality. Had two of these in use less ... July 13, 2015 ABSOLUTELY not for outdoor use. The locking mechanism is of VERY poor quality. Had two of these in use less than a month, with DAILY doses of graphite lubricant, locking mechanism failed. Fortunately, with less than 100 lbs of pressure, the two pieces separated with relative ease, and we we able to complete our tasks. | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
One Star Reviews: | 3% Dont like this version at all September 20, 2017 Very dissapointed in the red color which is actually washed out orange. Also dont like that when locked and not on my steering wheel the Club continues to slide apart. None of my other clubs come Prt when locked and not on the steering wheel. Attention!!! The coating is sticky like glue. April 13, 2016 I bought this Steering Wheel Lock because after 5 years of use my older Club 1000 doesn't work anymore and I expect that the newer model have to be better than the older one because the price is around $20,- higher than my Club 1000 (my fault).I dont now what the manufacture is doing wrong, but the red coating is sticky like glue!Even after cleaning the Lock with gentle soap and glass cleaner, the coating is still sticky.Shame on me I cut the packaging in half and put it in the trash container before I checked the steering wheel lock, so I cant send it back.So I removed the sticky stuff wit a knife and use ist without the protection coating, maybe I will buy shrink tubing for the shafts of the Lock to protect my steering wheel.Don't by this product!!! I feel more secure about my car since I bought ... August 15, 2014 I feel more secure about my car since I bought it. However, is a little heavy to be resting on top of the wheel's air bag. Can cause cancer, birth defects, and so on??? May 20, 2014 It would have been nice that the consumer is informed before purchasing this lock, that it contains cancer birth defect causing material (California Prop 65). I have a little baby and don't want to take any risk. I am very surprised and also disappointed by the manufacturer and Amazon that this is not mentioned anywhere, but I have to deal with returning this lock and order another brand! Think people! December 12, 2011 This is stupid, it doesn't matter how damage proof this device is, it is only as strong as the steering wheel itself, which I'm sure anyone can hacksaw through in less than a minute. Just a tax on people who don't have half a brain. Club does not prevent auto theft February 20, 2009 My car was stolen with the Club deployed. There was no evidence that it was the Club was dismanteled in anyway. The stering wheel was intact. The police had no explanation. Theories- master key being circulated, defective product, aliens? My insurance company told me that they are a waist of money. I will never buy this product again. | 6% Except 1 Fatal Design Flaw... October 15, 2017 It is actually a strong, easy to use lock. However, it can be defeated by cutting into the steering wheel thus easily removing the lock without touching it. The Pedal Jack is an absolute replacement that has four sets of teeth per lock that cannot be picked and is reinforced with 1in. thick cut resistant metal. The Club can supplement the Pedal Jack as marginal obstruction to theft. One Star September 24, 2017 I bought it for my golf cart - did not reach from steering wheel to pedal. VERY HARD TO UNLOCK September 11, 2015 its little hard to lock the thing but it is even SO MUCH HARDER AND TOUGHER to unlock it. I almost broke the key trying to turn to unlock this thing and it seems like it is almost impossible to unlock it once you lock it. Thank god I've tried it before I put it with my steering wheel on my car.. I would've been cutting some irons in my car to go to work.. I wouldn't recommend you buying this Started off great but no longer works July 10, 2015 I bought this lock because I heard great things about it; and it was great for a few months. After a few months the lock no longer works because it doesn't do what it is suppose to and that is stay locked. It seems the locking mechanism has broken because now it can simply be pulled open and this is a huge problem for a steering wheel lock. | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
