Love making a Crate into a nice looking End Table - Kudos!
May 19, 2017
Wonderful End Table Crates - our dogs have no problems at all. Because the wood is laminate we have the tops covered with decorative placements from Pier 1 so as to not get any water marks. Those who say their dogs can Tear through the crates are simply NOT crate trained. Any dog must be crate trained before they are to review an item and if certain dogs are resistant to crates then this is not a product for them. It looks beautiful in our Great Room and we have had many compliments and many people purchase them after seeing ours.
Aesthetically pleasing, great size, dog loves her new home
May 8, 2017
After reading the reviews for this item I was hesitant to order it, concerned that it would fall apart easily. However I am delighted with this product. It was super easy to put together and looks really great. Most importantly our dog (23lb King Charles) loves it and can stretch out really comfortably. I highly recommend if you have a placid dog who needs somewhere to be enclosed at night or when you are out of the house for a few hours. Love that the surround is easy to remove so we can use the wire crate for travel and holidays. The wood surround is fairly flimsy as other reviews have said but not an issue for us as our dog is not boisterous nor does she try to 'escape'. This may not be the perfect solution for a bigger dog or one who is locked in there for hours at a time. Also I do recognise that the wood panel on the side entrance only just hangs on with the magnets. As we are using the front door this is not an issue however if you were planning to use the side door you may need to screw or glue that on.
Decorative/Useful Cage
February 16, 2017
Purchased two of these. They match my décor wonderfully. Appreciate that fact that the cover comes apart easily to be cleaned/transported. Only downfall the piece under the side door constantly gets kicked over by the dog even though it has internal magnets to keep it in place. Would glue this piece down but, want to keep the portability of the cage.

I am not sure what many people are talking about when they say the leg pieces keep falling. I have had this one since 2013 I believe and I have two poodles that sleep together and it it still looking fine. It is true they there is no hardware but the leg pieces go inside the corner under the top and the bottom part so there is no way the can fall unless they were not properly secured. We move ours to clean around every week and nothing falls unless you pick up the top so you have to slide it to mece, not to pick it up. I am not sur about the issues with the big stronger dogs that don't want to stay in the cage, and I would guess they will destroy this one an any other for that matter.
Does the job and looks great
December 26, 2013
We purchased two of these crates, a medium sized one in 2013 and a large one in 2015. They look great in the house and are the perfect size for our corgi (medium crate) and German shepherd (large crate). The medium sized crate which was purchased in 2013 has stood the test of time and still looks as good as it did when we purchased it. Because of this we bought a large one this year for our shepherd and have been happy with both of them.
Great product. Not real wood but the veneer gives it a quality look.

This is exactly what I was looking for. Amazon's measurement spec. is not helpful at all since it only lists the measurement of the crate. Keep in mind that the final size will be that of the crate + the table cover. Below are the measurements (I googled it).Wire Dog Crate Dimensions (not including End Table Cover):Small: 24" Length x 18" Width x 19" HeightMedium: 30" Length x 19" Width x 21" HeightLarge: 42" Length x 28" Width x 30" HeightEnd Table Crate Cover Dimensions:Small: 27" Length x 20 5/8" Width x 22 1/2" HeightMedium: 32 1/2" Length x 21 5/8" Width x 23 3/8" HeightLarge: 44 1/2" Length x 30" Width x 31 1/2" Height

Great cage! No sharp edges! (People mentioned, I don't have)
February 14, 2017
Nice cage! Don't know what else it needs! Works well, has a divider, two doors, I like the flip up lock thing over the other locking mechanisms I found on other crates. If they were to add a liner of some sort or a topper to limit light on one or two sides that would be cool :)
Room for two!!
January 17, 2017
My siberian husky can stretch himself there. He even enjoy been in the cage. My son too...😂😂😂. When Max does not want to sleep, my son, he is 5"8, keep him company. Can you believe that!!
Huge Crate
October 1, 2016
I bought this for a destructive standard dachshund (32 lbs) who likes to eat furniture when you leave her alone. This is big enough to allow her room to move and stand up. Sturdy construction and I love the two door options. It is big enough to fit 2 teenagers and an adult male, though they can figure out how to undo the latch and escape. Not so much for the dog. Highly recommend.
Very large crate, easy to set up, and is sturdy
March 12, 2016
Very large crate, easy to set up, and is sturdy. I bought these for my great pyrenees (1 year old) and Alaskan malamute (4 years old), who we where going to start crate training. I add a picture so you can see how they fit. My Alaskan Malamute is about 150 lbs so as you can see this is a large create and he has plenty of room.Simply unfold the crate and lock the bars in place. This has been a great crate for them and I would buy it again.
Great for road trip with cat.
June 28, 2015
I purchased this cage to take our 8 lb., 2 y-o cat on a 8-hour road trip. The size was perfect to fit into the back door of the sedan we rented. (I have another cage that's a few inches taller and wider, but I couldn't get that one in through the back seat door of our personal car.) I was so happy to find this one at a reasonably low price. I took the partition piece and created a second level on the side with the smaller door (added a box with cushioning for her to lay on). This allowed me to put her litter on the opposite end since she needs the entire height to use her litter. Under the "second" level I placed her food and water on opposite sides (secured both using twist ties). The space wasn't the biggest because in order to get to the second level she had to step inside her litter, but the cage provided everything she needed for her first road trip, and more importantly our precious Evie was secure for the trip.Side note: if using for the same purpose, I encourage you to purchase a few weeks before your road trip and let your pet get used to the cage. I fed Evie in it every day and kept the doors open. I'd play with her by tossing her toys inside, and gradually got her used to me closing the doors while she was inside and making a game of opening them. By the time we were ready for our road trip she wasn't freaked out about being locked inside the cage. She was a little nervous (even though I'd been feeding her Composure treats starting a week before our trip as her vet recommended), but I think her nervousness was more from being outside her normal home environment. During our stay in our daughter's home, I kept the cage door open at all times and would find Evie inside every so often (even though her food and litter were outside the cage). The return trip home was much more calming for her.
It was easy to assemble
June 26, 2015
This kennel was fabulously packaged. It is so much larger than my other kennel and is made just as well as the name brand ones that I've purchased in the past. I did not see a "Handle" on the top of it, but it doesn't need one.It was easy to assemble, popped right open. Nothing bent, nothing broken, just came right up when I popped it open. Divider was inside of the kennel. Not using it however. The metal wire appears sturdy and the doors shut easily. The side door is awesome and offers an alternative exit for my pup. It is HUGE and works great with my bloodhound who stands above knee height and weighs almost a hundred pounds. This kennel would be good for German Shepherds, Large labs, rottweilers, smaller dog with pups, two small dogs, bloodhounds, pointers. I would not recommend it for an adult great dane, as the dog would have to duck to get in. A larger, custom kennel would be better for a dog of that stature. I also would not use this for a grown male mastiff, as I feel it may be too small for that size dog.I hope to enjoys years of comfort for my pooch, he and I could fit in this kennel comfortably together.I ordered the XXL crate and it shipped in two days hassle free via UPS.

A solid case, easy to assemble and sturdy.
July 25, 2017
We have five of these crates for our pack of hounds, four medium crates and one large model for the mutt-that-grows-endlessly. First, the wooden shell around the cage itself is well made and mostly held together with magnetic inserts! This means there are no screws or bolts holding a wooden frame together which makes moving and take-down very easy. The downside of this is the cage does rattle a bit and the bottom lips of wood in front of back will occasionally fall off. But they are easily placed back. The steel cage itself is sizeable and easily assembled and resists out most accomplished lock-pick hound thus far. The wooden roof is solid and can be used to support things like a table so long as the weight is not too extreme. We've had over 100lbs of dog food bags on top before and it was just fine. I highly recommend these. They are not perfect but for the price you're not going to beat them.
One of the most stylish crates, perhaps not as structurally sound
February 8, 2017
This crate is definitely one of the best looking crates out there, whereas most crates tend to look like a little prison box. The quality of the "wood" is very average (but looks great in person!), and the wood either snaps into place around the wire crate with the help of magnets or by interlocking with each other. Either way, it wobbles a bit, but I don't mind. To keep things comfortable, I added a cushion (MidWest Quiet Time Pet Bed Deluxe Gray Ombre Swirl 23" x 18") and it fits perfectly inside the small crate. The small size is ideal for my 9 pound poodle pup, but with some determined and curious pawing, he constantly removes the bottom wood cover that permits access to the removable plastic tray. With the way it wobbles and how the wood is all easily detachable, I can imagine stronger, feistier breeds causing a lot more mayhem, but for the most part, it is a solid purchase for dogs that are not as hyper or energetic.
I really like this crate
July 16, 2016
I really like this crate. It is stable enough for out 11lb dachshund. It looks nice in our living area. It gives our dog a nice place to relax. What I he does not like is the high opening. Being so low to the ground he has to jump over the opening to get in. Does anyone have any ideas to make the entrance easier to get in? We got the medium size.
Nice looking crate, but not for dogs with separation anxiety
January 21, 2013
I bought this crate because my dog crate needs to be in my living room and I wanted something looking nicer than a metal crate. Although wood is very thin, it is a beautiful crate and looks very nice in my living room. I love the side door and my dog loves using the crate. My current dog is not a problem child and does NOT suffer from separation anxiety. I have owned a dog who did suffer from separation anxiety and this crate is NOT good for dogs with separation anxiety. The crate itself is very flimsy and a strong dog with determination could easily bust out and bend this crate apart. If your dog has any separation anxiety or doesn't like being in a crate....save yourself the money and DO NOT BUY THIS CRATE. If your dog is easy-going and likes being in a crate, this is PERFECT for you.
Furniture Like Crate-Awesome!
January 3, 2013
We purchased the Large size for our 70lb Collie. It was easy to put together. The top gave us a few minutes pause, just making sure it matched up, but it is on and everything is secure. I am very pleased with the look of it. It matches our cherry dining room table. I know the wood is not solid, but maybe I will add an extra top coat to it to keep it from getting too scratched. It looks like it belongs in here instead of just the ugly metal crate. I also would like to add extra magnets to the bottom part that comes off in case you ever need to pull the tray out for cleaning. It does not stick on well, but maybe a few more magnets will work.I did a lot of research and for the price, you get a crate and the nice cover, it cannot be beat. Add a plush dog bed, and perfect!
Stylish and Easy to Put Together
November 28, 2012
After reading some of the negative reviews I had my reservations, but bought the large size anyway. Well, I'm glad I bought it. Put it together by myself in about 20 minutes. It does wobble about 1/4 inch, at most, as the side supports for the top just slide down in place and do not have any wood dowels or pegs to insert. However, I have it in a corner, so wobbling is not a problem. (See photo from side view) I believe the manufacturer must have wanted customers to be able to take it apart for transport. I plan on drilling some holes from inside of legs to place pegs into base and top.(You can get pegs at Lowe's) Shouldn't be able to see them from the outside. Finish of wood was good. The steel cage comes flat and hinged. The bottom, sides and top are all attached to each other, so you just pull up one side and the rest follow. Then you pull up the end pieces and snap in place to top. Very easy, but it is not as solid as assembled crates found at stores. However, the couple of reviews stating their dogs broke through the cage are a little severe. If your dog is busting through this cage, a flimsy cage is not the problem. The dog acting out is the problem. I choose to use the side door that has a 2 inch lip of cage at the bottom, but I found a nice cushion on sale at Ace Hardware to place in the crate that works great. I plan to go to fabric store to cut some fabric panels to hang on sides. I have a Dachshund and a Beagle that sleep together. They love the crate.I would buy it again.

It is very easy to build
July 4, 2017
Well, I did plenty of research before I purchased this cage.. and I did read all the low scores and was unsure if I should proceed or not.Since I was not planning on using it for a dog I decided to just buy it and give it a try...The Cage came in, and I convert it for use for my Chinchilla ... I will rate the product before my conversion. It is very easy to build, basically one, two, three go. The floor is plastic not too thick ... during my conversion process I went in a few times and sat in there, I could feel the under cage kinda hurt my knees and when I turned backwards it was somewhat uncomfortable for my back so I can only imagine what a large dog might feel. Yes, I said I went in, this cage is big enough for me to have gone in.I do have a Pittbull and we wrestle, I let him bite me and I can say even with his play bite on me I am sure he would do a nice number to the cage if he had an opportunity at it. So not sure about big breeds like pits or anything bigger than 15lbs in this cage... I think it's more about giving small breeds room to move around in there and not become agitated with their enclosure. In any event I knew I bought this not for dog and so am extremely happy with my purchase it's a great home for my Chin... The front door (one of the very main reasons I chose this cage) is now the main door to the cage. Plenty of room to jump in there and kinda run around if you plan on using it for a Chin or Rabbit the bottom is great since it slides out for cleaning ..DO NOT use AS IS for Small Critters as they might either escape or get their head stuck between each link of the cage (Since its not intended for small critters) As I mentioned I knew what I was buying and was ready to make changes to the cage to support my Chin permanently living in here.
Perfect for my little dogs
March 15, 2017
Love the crate idea. It has helped me to get a good nights sleep. I have 3 Chihuahua's and they used to roam around my bed room at night. They had accidents on my carpet. This crate has solved all my problems. I put 3 big quilts in it and they climb in every evening and make themselves cozy. I shut the door and they are good for 4 hours till I take them out. Then right back into their little nest. It is heaven. Just wish it was a bit sturdier. A big dog might just tear it to pieces.
Crate + zip ties = perfection
October 9, 2016
Having pretty good use of this sucker so far. I took off a star because it does not seem very sturdy. I reinforced a number of the seems with zip ties, and that helped immensely. I was also pretty sure my clever pup would be able to push out of the front door (I zip tied the side door shut), so I have added clips to the top and bottom to keep him from pushing through. It's been working well, and I really like the removable tray for easier clean up. If you aren't going to be folding this sucker up consistently, I suggest adding some zip ties to your order and using those too. Better safe than destroyed home!
Delivery was prompt (within the week) and both arrived in good condition with some damage to the box
July 3, 2016
Purchased this product for my two mixed breed dogs. They are each 85 pounds and fairly tall so I opted for the 42" XXL model. I got two of them.Delivery was prompt (within the week) and both arrived in good condition with some damage to the box. They are very lightweight and easy to assemble, which I wanted since we will be traveling with them. They are pretty spacious and accommodated my dogs' height well. For those who may be wondering, I added a rubber stall mat under the wire cage bottoms. It cuts down on noise and prevents damage to your floors. ;) I also stained a sheet of thin plyboard and put it on top for added storage space. My one complaint is that the crates do seem a bit flimsy. If your dog is not crate trained I imagine that a few hard pulls/pushes could pop the front panel out of place if the pet really wanted out. Some strategically placed zip ties could probably alleviate this issue off you cannot afford a sturdier model.
verify measurements
May 25, 2016
the measurements given were 20 x 13 x 16. Well, evidently that was the size of the BOX (which I didn't think to measure before discarding) because the crate itself is 17 x 11 3/4 x 14, smaller than the one we had. I had wanted a slightly larger one because we just adopted a 9 week old chihuahua mix & aren't entirely sure how big he'll get. If need be we'll just have to get another crate; time will tell. Other than the size issue the crate gets 5 stars for ease of assembly; none really, just unfold & lock into place. It's nice & sturdy. Also there is a 2nd door on the side of the crate which wasn't mentioned but may prove useful once we load both crates into the car. It certainly doesn't hurt anything. The only reason this crate didn't get 5 stars was the misleading measurements.
one can be made very easily for half the cost of buying one
March 8, 2016
Our cat Mr. Biggles W. Fiddleworth enjoys his crate. Every night he has a set bedtime and he goes to bed. He is 26" long, 12" is tail length. He weighs 9lbs and is 9 month old. I placed a standard-size small dog bed inside the 20" crate, fit perfectly. I place a fuzzy blanket over the crate to cover and encourage quiet time. 20" crate covers are hard to come buy, but I wasn't interested and still am not in need of one. Although, one can be made very easily for half the cost of buying one. This may be an issue for some who want their animals crate to match their home decor and blend seamlessly. The door swivels shuts, the latch pushes in and rolls down into place. If you have a pet that can maneuver this type of latch, a simple clip should alleviate the problem. This is a crate, not a travel cage and therefore it is not the type of sturdiness one would look for in a traveling cage. It meets my needs and the needs of the cats, which are the basic essentials: a safe place to crate my cat at night, when I am gone, and cleaning the house. My cat feels secure and comfortable.. So I am VERY happy with my product.

Expect NOT to receive a perfect product, but usable.
March 2, 2017
I would have given more stars on this product, however the bottom front left corner wood is separating, and the back bottom left corner is also separating. I could probably fix/stabilize the wood with some wood glue, however I'm not sure it's going to be an issue now that everything is built and the crate is inside of it. I haven't actually put the crate to use yet as we don't have our puppy yet, but we are getting a cockapoo so not expecting to have a big strong dog in this crate. Might not be suitable for larger breeds (pit bull, German Sheppard, etc). The separating wood is really not going to compromise the funcionality of the crate, however, I think the reason people are spending the extra money on this crate is exactly for the furniture look of the crate as opposed to just having a metal crate, and to spend this much money on something that is not being delivered in good quality is very frustrating.
Nice wood but kind of rickety design
December 21, 2016
Nice wood but kind of rickety design. I couldn't maneuver the whole set around without wood separating out of it's base. The front gate is an inner square inside of a square. The latch was so-so & a slightly clever dog could escape I think. This might be okay for some dogs & it looks nice, but I had to send it back.
It looks beautiful, but it's clearly cheaply made
April 27, 2016
It looks beautiful, but it's clearly cheaply made. The crate is your standard black metal crate you see everywhere, but the wood pieces fall apart super easily if you try and move the crate at all (not attached to each other well after you assemble it, although my husband said it was easy to assemble). Perhaps this is so you can easily remove the metal crate from the wooden shell? No, that sounds dumb. I have no idea I'm not sure, but it's frustrating if you try to move the crate to a new location at all. My husband tells me assembly was easy though. I feel like I paid too much for it, or rather, I only paid for the look and not necessarily a quality product. If you're okay with that, then it's a pretty satisfying purchase.
Great Product...Poor Packaging
February 15, 2016
I have a sixty-five pound dog and he loves this create. He took to it immediately. It actually passes quite well as furniture. We have a lamp and two picture frames sorting on it comfortably. My only complaint is that the tabletop came with a dent and the wood chipped out from one of the long sides that is quite noticeable. Also, one of the corners was crushed and the wood was chipped. That is why I am giving it three stars.
Nice Overpriced Cage
October 5, 2015
I continue to have mixed feeling about this dog cage. The no-fastener way the wood pieces come together makes for a flimsy array that is subject to falling apart. We decided to just use the cage without all the thin woodwork that obscures the dog's view. He is very pleased with the large cage and new Kong mattress I put in it. So it has value but not so much as originally designed, in my view. The wires in this cage seem a bit under sized so there is a frailness to it and the doors are not well aligned with the locking mechanism so they can be difficult to open and close. I do not recommend this product.
Could be better...
December 4, 2014
First one arrived damaged, witnessed clumsy carrier service handling package poorly. Although fairly well packaged, additional protection is needed on the corners & ends of these for shipping. The wooden cage cover looks nice as expected, although the metal cage itself is of poor quality in my opinion. The gauge of wire used is slightly flimsy and the overall construction seems a bit sloppy. For the price I expected a higher quality cage. The wood frame, although looks very nice, is awkward to assemble and doesn't fasten together at any point. It is all held together by gravity via the vertical slats loosely seat inside the top and bottom pieces. After some creative bending with some pliers I got the cage doors & tray latch to function properly. The tray too seems to be of poor quality, looking/feeling thin and flimsy. Again, quality doesn't match the cost in my opinion. This would have been a 5 star item if the price was as low as the quality. Besides the initial poor impression, it looks very nice and the dogs love it :) Hopefully it lasts long enough to be worth the price.

NOT STURDY - don't purchase if you need to CONTAIN your pet
September 21, 2017
NOT STURDY - my <40 lb basset hound demolished it and escaped several times (with the sliders still in place) and peed all over my house. Basically, he bent the side back, pushed the bottom part of the door out, and slipped through. He is lazy and has no ambition in general, so I never anticipated he would do this, or that a metal crate would allow it. It always felt flimsy compared to the other brand I've purchased but I was still stunned. I have to get rid of it as it is useless for the purpose purchased -- to keep him corralled when I cannot have him running free.It would be fine as a "den" for your skittish pet to escape to if that's all you need, but it will not contain a remotely intelligent animal.
Not as good as I hoped.
December 22, 2016
I purchased this crate for a new puppy. (Blue healer/ Australian Shepherd) It works great so far but it's a little less sturdy than I would like. I'm afraid when the pup gets bigger he will be able to push it open. The latches are also very simple and my 1year old granddaughter is constantly opening it.
It is a not as sturdy as we expected so have had to 'zip tie' ...
October 19, 2016
It is a not as sturdy as we expected so have had to 'zip tie' the sides. But for the price it works well for our older dog as she just sleeps in it when we travel. I don't know how sturdy it would be for a bigger more active dog? It did come on schedule.
GREAT SIZE, FLIMSY PRODUCT, RECEIVED BENT.
September 15, 2016
The size of this crate is amazing. It is not very sturdy though and we received both cages bent up. None of the doors on either cage work very well due the cages being bent up.
Not For Use Without Being Crate Trained
July 17, 2016
It's definitely NOT for use when your dog isn't crate trained. I bought this to put in our camper. Our 4 month old Boxer loves it and he's already crate trained so it will work out OK. If you have a dog that isn't crate trained, I wouldn't recommend this one. It's pretty lightweight and would bend very easy.
This was very easy to setup and works well for the dog
November 2, 2015
This was very easy to setup and works well for the dog. The issue with this is the front latch is rather difficult to lock. It seems like it just doesn't line up quite right and must be repositioned each time I go to lock the cage. The easy setup though makes this great if there is an accident as it comes apart easily to clean.

Good concept, poor quality
September 20, 2017
The crate is a great concept but is very low quality. The top arrived very damaged - major cracks in 4 different places and huge chunks of wood missing from the underside. The crate is very flimsy. I tried for about 45 minutes to unfold it because it was bent in on itself so badly that it wouldn't unfold. I gave up. Even before I tried to unfold it, there were flecks of black paint falling off of the chipped metal bars. Even though the crate is flimsy, my 5 pound papillon doesn't chew or dig and would have been fine in it. What didn't work for her was that the openings on the small size were smaller than any other crate she's had. The bottom of the opening sits 7 inches high. Even without the wood base, it would've been 6 inches high. Standard small crates are 3.75 inches from the floor to the bottom of the opening. Her little legs are only 6 inches high. She had to take a big leap to get in and, after she hit her head trying to get in twice (injuring herself once), she refused to keep going back in. Her crate is her safe place and she will only eat her food if it's in the crate and loves to snooze away the day in it, so it's not like she just didn't want to be crated. Also, the tray for the bottom of the crate is too small for the actual crate. I know that trays need some wiggle room; however, this one had a 1.5 inch gap on all sides. That also made it hard on my poor dog who already took a flying leap to get in, only to feel even more unsteady as the bottom shook her around as she "landed." I wanted to like this and even tried her old crate in it. Note: the small crate that comes with this is 21 inches tall. A standard small crate is 19.5 inches tall, so her old one did not fit.
Would not recommend to a friend.
July 21, 2017
Not worth it for the money. I bought the large which is over 200 dollars. When it arrived the top was dented (not in shipping, the box was fine) and it is flimsy as all get out. There are no screws holding wood together it just sits on top of itself. The wood stain is not as pictured. It's not a glossy finish it's just depressing looking. The wire cage is the cheapest one money can buy. Cages are easily compared and this is bottom rung. There are no pads on the bottom to keep it from scratching the floor (had to add them)This is not furniture quality by any means even though it is at a furniture quality price. I could see buying another if it were about half the price.I would not recommend this to a friend.
Not Impressed
May 3, 2017
I purchased 2 of these for my dogs. I am not impressed with the quality of them for the price. They are not sturdy they do not bolt or fasten together in any manner, the wood is just placed together if you tried to move this it would fall apart the top comes right off. The bottom piece to remove the tray is "held" in place with 2 little magnets nothing else. I would expect this for a piece that was 70-50 dollars cheaper but for $145.00 NO.
Only for the mildest of dogs!

My dog is still a puppy and I am very concerned this is soooo flimsey. The gates are poorly latched too. Going to try it...but I am afraid he will get out of it in just a few weeks. The whole thing wobbles, the cover is loosely put together and needs secured...Could not be moved around as is.
There is no interlocking mechanism and if you have a rough puppy like we do
January 22, 2016
We bought the large one at Amazon. You are buying a normal wire crate with tray and with 6 pieces of fake wood. A bottom and a top and then 4 beams at each corner to hold it together. There is no interlocking mechanism and if you have a rough puppy like we do, the beam will break and fall off. We got this for our 5 mths old puppy and within 2 months the thing broke. Of course the wire crate stays just like any other wire crate will.My advice is... Get a normal wire crate at 50-60 dollars and build a hardtop at another 50 so dollars to put it on top and pocket the difference. Not worth the money at all.Giving it two stars as one for the crate and one for the look before it broke.
Looks Nice, But Doesn't Contain Dogs
December 6, 2015
I have purchased two of these kennels for our dogs, one last year and one this fall. The kennel I purchased last year seems sturdy and has held up fairly well to daily use by my husky, but I cannot say the same about the newer purchase. My boxer mix had the newer kennel mangled after 2 days. He constantly escapes from the front and side doors, defeating the purpose of the kennel entirely. The flimsy metal doors and side panels are all bent up, and we've had to reinforce the doors with extra fasteners (carabiners and quick links) just to keep the kennel doors closed. The wood is also of lower quality on both kennels, splitting easily and losing its finish quickly. The bottom tray has held up better than I expected, though the latch to hold it in place doesn't work well. My dogs are both able to slide the tray out from underneath the kennel while they are inside, leaving them to lay on the metal crate bottom and wood base. All in all, while these kennels look nice, they do adequately perform their most basic function - containing the dog.

Puppy Jailbreak!
September 22, 2017
It lasted a good two days for my puppy. He's about 85 lbs, 8 months old, and a German Shepherd/Great Pyrenees mix. The amount of space in it was great for him, but he decided this wasn't for him! While I was out, he decided it was time for a jailbreak. It looks like he somehow managed to unlock the bottom lock, and then he squeezed through the gate, bending the metal along the way. Either way, it didn't hold up to his strength and stubbornness. Along are some photos of him proud of his work and of the cage itself.
This is not for a dog that is not willing to stay in it
September 19, 2017
This is not for a dog that is not willing to stay in it. My 75 pound dog was free within ten minutes. She merely pushed against it until the sides were pried apart. A few of the sides are held together by clasps of sorts. Push hard enough and the metal will flex and the clasps will release. I had to zip tie these sides on at least three places each. I even needed to zip tie the door shut because I doubt it would have held. This was rather inexpensive and I should have done more research. I need something much more substantial for my dog to crate train her.
Works but could be built better
August 19, 2017
We have had this cage for about 6 months and haven't been too happy with how it's held up. Some of the hooks to keep the crate together have bent and the cage seems a little flimsier then some of the others I have seen. In addition, the divider leaves enough of a gap that our puppy was able to slip under to the other side. Some of the black coating has come off to and shown some rust underneath. It is still functional, just not holding up as well as I would have thought.
Not sturdy enough to be a large dog crate
July 31, 2017
You would think that a crate was designed for large dogs would be sturdier. I was surprised at the thinness of the wire on the cage. The first night my 60 pound three-legged German Shepherd bent the door, which unhooked the lock and escaped the crate. I'm afraid to try and bend it back for fear that I will snap something. I gave it one more star than I would have only because the crate was easy to assemble. I will be asking the vendor for a refund and if I don't get one i'll have my husband fix it and then donate it to a local shelter. I don't think it is a good cage for a large dog, even though I don't consider 60 pounds large, but it would be fine for several little dogs who like to be together.
It was a lot smaller than imagined. And sure ...
July 13, 2017
It was a lot smaller than imagined. And sure, the setting up should sound enjoyable, after all, no tools required, but it was actually kind of hard. I couldn't see where the front of the cage was, where it began, and how to set it up. Not to mention the fact that it is incredibly squeaky, even a small shift in my dogs postition would make it squeak.
Item arrived on time and easy to set up
June 8, 2017
Item arrived on time and easy to set up, however the plastic base arrived smashed to pieces. And the metal is pretty flimsy and very bendable. I purchased as a place to crate my cat while trying to break a bad marking habit. It's good for what I need, spit for a bed. A hanging bed, water/food a cat box and walking space. It would be enough for a large breed dog, husky lab etc. But they would easily be able to bend the metal and escape if they chose to.

Very cheap and wood is not locked together
June 30, 2017
This was not as expected. It is literally a regular metal dog crate surrounded by some pieces of wood that are not locked together. So once I put my dog in it, he just started pushing all the wood pieces down. I ended up returning it.
If your dog likes being crated, this will be adequate...
April 12, 2016
Cheap junk. It looks okay, but it is held together with gravity so too much shaking, and the "support"/corners will fall off on one side. My 6lb Maltese chewed this thing up, and wiggles his way out without too much trouble. He even figured out how to open the lock so he doesn't have to bend the bars anymore. We leash him to the inside, with the door open now. Combined with a new location, he seems to be content with the crate now, but the only thing keeping him in this thing is his leash. If your dog doesn't like being in a crate, avoid this crate. If it enjoys being crated, this is a nice looking option, but you should consider the all wood ones that look better (I didn't want my dog destroying the wood, and hoped that metal would work, but I was wrong).
Waste of money, complete disaster, poor quality product.
December 11, 2015
This product has several major problems.First of all, the wood façade on the corners does not fit well at all and the bar that covers the access to the opening for the cage pan just sits there so any jostling inside the cage and it falls off.The cage itself has problems with the composite flooring where the dog has a hard time maneuvering because it is slippery with their claws,. Additionally, the clasp that is supposed to lock the tray in place does not work effectively and constantly opens because the dog is slipping inside the cage and making the tray slide as well. The tray does not fit particularly well and with the loose fit, it exacerbates the problem of the tray sliding. Its like a domino effect, tray too small for the cage, dog with poor footing, tray slides, slams into tray clasp which opens and the wooden bar cover goes flying.
Like others have said
October 7, 2015
Like others have said, I wish I had taken the negative reviews more seriously. Our 4-year old 50lb mixed breed has always been in a cage while we are away, and while she does have separation anxiety, this only lasts right as we are leaving. We received this item on Sunday, I put it together on Monday, and by Tuesday she had pulled all the metal pieces inwards and escaped while we weren't home. We returned to a huge mess. This much money on a cage that worked for a day. One top of that, the wood pieces - while they do look nice when assembled, just kinda sit together, there is nothing that actually keeps them fastened. If you move the cage in any way, it wobbles, and the top and easily come off one or more of the side pieces. The front lip piece doesn't stay on for anything. Nice idea, but terrible product.
Works as a crate, but cover is shoddy
April 14, 2015
This crate fits our 25lbs Boston Terrier just fine, but the construction of the cover around it is lousy. Other reviews have suggested this as well and I should have heeded their advice. Basically, what is made to look like a table in the photos (what with books and a coffee cup on top of it) is really 8 separate pieces of faux-wood that sort of fit together, but there is no structural integrity to this piece, and it mostly just rests on top of the crate. It also incessantly falls apart with the dog routinely getting in and out of the crate, just regular use, and so I was constantly picking up pieces and trying to wedge them back into place.Got to me too much trouble than it's worth, and so I've been using ti as a standard crate since then, which it's mostly fine. The construction of the crate wouldn't hold up to any dog who is determined to try to get out of it. My dog bent some of the bars when a plumber was over and while they're mishapen, the crate still does the trick.-- Update 1 year later --My 25 lbs dog completely destroyed the crate one day and has rendered the door mechanism useless. I won't buy this again, and for the price, demoting this to one star.
I gave it one star because zero was not an option

This product is awful. The top was damaged out of the box but given how bulky it was to put together (I knew that ordering large) I figure the bad corner was against the wall and wouldn't be seen. My problems started on day two of using it when my 40lb dog broke out of the large crate, designed for much bigger dogs by bending the whole thing. It is worthless, flimsy and bends easily. Do not buy!

Poor Quality and Damaged upon delivery.
October 5, 2017
I ordered this product through a warehouse deal, where it was noted that it was just the packaging that was damaged, but that it would come in the original box and was undamaged. However, this arrived in a series of black garbage bags instead. Opening it, the product was damaged - metal parts of the cage were broken, the plastic flooring was cracked and had a hole in it. After deciding not to go through the hassle of complaining and returning something that probably would take forever to figure out, I kept it and place my dog in the cage. After the dog (terrier mix) was in the cage for 4-6 hours for a consecutive 5 days, he was able to flip the cage and crawl out the bottom after completely destroying the plastic flooring (literally ripped it in half). If a small dog can do this to a big cage, imaging what a husky or legitimately large dog could do to this. The metal is thin and cheaply made. The plastic is thin and cheaply made. I recommend that people DO NOT purchase this cage for the quality is poor and your dog will easily escape.
Very flimsy
September 29, 2017
I bought this crate for my 6 month old weimaranaer who weighs 45 lbs. Crates are intended to hold the dogs inside. He has now broken out of both doors. How you ask? He literally broke the bar and bent the door while we were gone dropping kids off at school. There is no way this thing can hold the a full size dog like it is supposed to. Plus the danger it poses on the animal itself. Very unhappy.
Not for strong or bouncy dog. They will ruin it.
September 26, 2017
If you want strong crate for dog that may jump against sides, this is not for you. Cheap wire crate. Good for cats or puppies but not safe and sound product for a dog that will push on it. Compared side by side with four different crates, this one is of poor strength and durability. It does have "double" locking but that's it's only pro.
Not long-lasting durability as advertised
September 25, 2017
Ordered this for my 9 month old puppy, who was chewing everything while we were out and about. Not for long periods for a most 4-5 hrs in the crate every so often, not an everyday occurrence. I got this fairly quickly, but for something advertised as " long-lasting durability and security" this is not the case at all. In the not even one month we had this crate the 9 month old puppy first pulled the side door inside of the crate as well as bent most of the bars around the side door. Then when we turned the crate to use the front door she within a few hours pulled that door in to the crate and bent the wires around the door. She has also managed to pop a few of the wires from their welds. So the long lasting durability is not a proper claim. To have spent this money and the product not even last a month much less long lasting is a vast disappointment.
Don’t let your dog sleep with her collar.
