So far so good, my little dog is enjoying this dry food
September 16, 2017
So far so good, my little dog is enjoying this dry food. We are trying this brand because we had been noticing for a few months that her breath and her mouth were smelly, even though her teeth are perfectly clean. A vet recommended us to try dry food for sensitive stomach, because that might be the source of the problem. She has always been a bit sensitive and would vomit here and there for no apparent reason. After relocating, we saw she was struggling to adapt to the new food we had bought in the new town, so we put her first on digestive dry food for a while, and then we switched to Hill's Science. She had problems again when we switched to this brand, but she is getting now used to this food. She poops very few though (which some vets say is good, but not usual in her). Her breath issues are now gone, but she craves for grass (which is not a good sign). We will keep observing her development, but for now, Hill's Science is a keeper.
and it doesn't make his coat or breath stinks as bad as others we've tried

Our 4 yr old black lab has reflux and pukes up stomach acid a lot. This seems to do well for his stomach, and it doesn't make his coat or breath stinks as bad as others we've tried. Go for subscribe and save and have it shipped to your door - you don't get easier than that!
Picky eater no more!
March 18, 2017
We were feeding our dog Blue Buffalo Life Protection, he started to become a picky eater and had diarrhea probably once a month so the vet recommended switching him over to a limited ingredient diet. We tried the the limited ingredient line from Blue Buffalo but he still was a picky eater, only eating once a day or once every two days when he was really starving; he has always been a twice a day meal eater. We incorporated actual chicken pieces and tricked him into eating more on schedule but that didn't last long. We ordered Hill's Science Sensitive Stomach and on day 1 after incorporating just 1/4 cup into his Blue Buffalo to introduce the switch, he became a normal twice a day eater again, no tricking him to eat. He eats as soon as his food hits the bowl now.
Picky eaters love the taste of Hill Science
December 20, 2016
I have a rescue small 10 lb dog. She was found on the streets of California, flown to Washington where we adopted her at 6 months old. She is frightened of absolutely everything, and eats just enough to stay alive. When I switched to Hill’s science diet, Tinna started to eat with excitement. I was shocked. A friend of mine told me about adding Vitapet Omega Fish Oil Chewables with EPA and DHT for Dogs with CoQ10 and these chews have done wonders for Tinna. I have given her these the past 2 months & her coat is filling up nicely.
Happy Dog-Mom
February 5, 2016
My dog has pretty severe allergies: general itching all over, very itchy paws (especially back ones) that she would lick and bite at until they were red, frequent yeast growth and severe ear infections (got so bad once that it emitted a horrible odor that smelled like sour milk) in one or both ears, rubbing her face on the ground, and just general discomfort. Because the allergies were so severe, and they could literally be caused by one or any number of things, I was NOT looking forward to potentially embarking on a extremely time consuming and expensive wild goose chase to figure out what was causing her allergies. Additionally, I was concerned about how long she would have to continue to suffer until I could figure it out.I really didn't know where to start with narrowing things down, and then someone suggested to try switching her food out - that's the easiest and least expensive thing to do. I know Science Diet is heralded a very good brand on the less expensive side of the "good dog foods" out there, so it was worth a shot. Before ordering, I called Amazon to see what their return/refund policy on foodstuffs was, in the event that my dog either didn't like the food or that it did not help with her allergies. Amazon customer service informed me that if I didn't like the product for any reason and I notified them within 30 days, they would refund the money and I would NOT have to return the food. Perfect!I ordered it and immediately started transiting my dog to this food. When she finally got transitioned to the point where she was eating mostly the Science Diet (about a week and half after I received the food), the majority of the allergy symptoms that she was experiencing basically disappeared. To date (approximately 1 month later), she has completely stopped obsessively scratching as well as licking and biting her paws. Even her ears cleared up a lot, although they still require weekly/bi-weekly cleaning. I AM SO GLAD THIS FOOD WORKED FOR HER.Additionally, I have found that this food is a lot more filling and she gets full at lot faster. She's not eating nearly as much (and thus not pooping as much), so I'm sure the food itself will last a lot longer! On the downside, I don't think she really cares for the taste. In fact, she started going on a partial food strike earlier this week (she could never just completely stop eating). But I explained to her that this isn't Burger King and you cannot have it your way. I also told her that she wasn't getting anymore treats until she eats her food like she is supposed to. She is now back to eating her food regularly. All in all, this food worked perfect for her! I can't say it will work for all dogs, but at least ordering from Amazon, you can get a refund if you find that it doesn't work.
Cured my dogs allergy spots
October 18, 2015
I have 2 mastiffs and one of them has developed allergies to most dog foods, this particular type has been amazing for her, she had some black spots all over her stomach and was starting to lose hair in a lot of spots in addition to dandruff, that's all gone now. Will continue purchasing this for as long as it's available.

High quality food, great for her coat.
August 8, 2017
I love this exact style, the Lamb and Rice formula, for my 1 year old English Bulldog female. The chicken, turkey, lamb, and fish formula had a protein that didn't agree with her and cause horrendous hair loss, but I decided not to give up on Canidae. When I adopted her she was on lamb and rice with a different brand, so I tried out Canidae's formula and it's perfect. Her coat is so soft and barely sheds. It's smooth and shiny, and, being 55 lbs, eats 2 - 3 cups per day/24 hours. She's rarely hungry outside of her breakfast and dinner, so it keeps her full with 1 cup in the morning and 1 in the evening most of the time. Sometimes I give her a cup in the afternoon. Her weight is perfect for her size, and her folds rarely get irritated except in the extreme desert heat (don't worry we keep her inside with A/C mostly during summer but the hottest of desert summer seems to affect her folds a bit).
Excellent product and happy dog
July 3, 2017
I switched our dog's food from Purina one over to Canidae, our dog has loved it from day one. One of the things we noticed, is that our dog's weight and digestion has become normal and were it should be at. With the previous food our dog would gain weight and constantly have issues when going potty. I highly recommend this product to my family and friends.
Loved by my Corgi
September 19, 2016
My Corgi has been eating this brand since she was a puppy because I didn't want to feed her puppy food for fear that she would grow too fast with the extra protein. This all stage dog food was exactly what I was looking for. I really have no complaints about this brand - we tried a different flavor previously and when we switched over to this, she didn't experience any stomach problems. She's pretty healthy, but then again, she's only 1 right now. She also loves to eat, so she definitely enjoys eating this.
Fantastic GRAIN free food that our dogs LOVE in a HUGE multiple dog house sized bag!
February 10, 2015
We switched to this food when our new puppy started to eat the same amount as her big brother, and the Natures Variety food that we were buying was only being shipped in a 27lb bag. Now, that food was only a fe dollars less than this brand of EXCELLENTLY rated dog food (it gets five stars on the Dog Food Analysis website : http://www.dogfoodanalysis.com/dog_food_reviews/ ). It is a grain free food, and the dogs are thriving on it. But, the best part, is that it comes in a 44lb bag and gets us thru a few more weeks worth of feedings. We could easily go thru one 27lb bag of the Natures Variety in six weeks with our two shelties. I want to be able to give my dogs the best possible food that I can afford, so getting 17lbs more in a bag makes a HUGE difference!
The dogs love the kibble - and if you are switching I highly suggest that you taper in the new food with their old food until their bellies get used to the new recipe. We did this over the course of three weeks, blending more each week until they were finally eating entirely all new food with no problems.
Great food, reasonably priced.
October 16, 2013
We've been feeding our dogs this for at least 10 years, and that includes puppies and seniors. It's very well balanced, and we never have a weight problem with our dogs. Their stools are nice and firm, and really, isn't that what it's all about? Their coats are nice and shiny, they love the food, and no one has had any allergic reaction to it.

It's medium-small sized dry bits are fine for our miniature schnauzers, and larger breeds. I think dogs smaller than 10 pounds might struggle with the size.

To be honest, there was a recall on this food a couple of years ago. I did try another brand, and wasn't as happy with it. Our dogs gained weight on the same amount of measured food, and I had difficulty locating the same flavor two times in a row at the same store.

We bought this food because it was in the "Whole Dog Journal" top ten food list and compared to everything there, it was the best price. We do add a big tablespoon of Wellness canned at mealtime. They all love it, and so do we.

So far she's doing great and she absolutely loves the taste
August 28, 2017
My dog loves it, she has very sensitive stomach, I've been searching for the food for her that would not cause any gas or diarrhea. So far she's doing great and she absolutely loves the taste.
Bichon approved!
April 4, 2017
I feed this to my two Bichons. It has helped my youngest one a lot. They both have sensitive stomachs but he has had colitis before and has done great since I changed him to this food. They both seem to like it. They can be picky eaters and with other food I would have to add something to their kibble to get them to eat it. Not so with this food. I feed it to my young pup who it 14 months and my old man who is 10. I was buying it at local store but they only carried the 4 lb bags so I was happy to find the larger back on Amazon. Much cheaper and more convenient.
Great for dogs with sensitive stomachs... imagine that.
November 23, 2016
My dog seems to like it... I thought it tasted like dog food. But seriously, this food has done wonders for my German Shepherd with a sensitive stomach. She always had "issues" with her bowels when the vet recommended this food. Since we started her on this, she's been doing great.
My dog loves this food.
July 9, 2016
I don't write many reviews but felt this dog food warranted one. This food was recommended by our vet bc he has very dry and itchy skin. My dog absolutely loves this food! He can't get enough of it. We are still in the process of introducing it by mixing it with his old food. He's not a stupid dog and eats around the old food to get to this food. Then, he scratches at the pantry door for more.... Not sure if it will help with his dry, itchy skin yet but, he sure does love it! Will update review in a month or so.
Hill's Science Diet Adult Senstive Stomach
March 11, 2016
I have a sm. dog that has suffered with a sensitive stomach. I have tried everything including making his food. I really was not impressed with the ingredients on Science Diet dog food, but when I told our vet about his problem SD was recommended - also sold at the vets which was expensive. We bought one from the Vet and then I checked Amazon and purchased for less and a larger bag. I noticed our sm. dog's stools became more normal. Now and then I will see he has some runny stools and mucus, but by and large better. Sometimes he eats good and sometimes he doesn't. I think at the Vets you can get the bag with smaller kibbles, but not on line. I think he would like the smaller kibbles better.
Picky eater likes it
January 22, 2016
My 12 (almost 13) year old yorkie eats this , I still have to put a little wet food on it, but in the past she wouldn't go anywhere near dry food period. She also has Pancreatitis and I have not had any issues with her being on this food.

Good stuff...my Chihuahua says so. But she eats anything!
June 1, 2017
Dogs like/eat it. No issues. It has been going up in price. Switched several years ago as it was less than lots of other non-big store brands. But it is catching up in price! Boo...
It is great for all ages and sizes. Have a 6lb dog up to a 70lb dog that eats this stuff.
Worth every penny.
December 26, 2016
For a large breed dog, buying this food makes the most sense. It has the best reviews, comes in 44lb bags, and has more calories than most competitors (Blue Buffalo etc.). These perks combined make this dog food last much longer than other name brand 30lb bags of food that I have bought with lower calories. There was also a ten dollar price jump since the last time i bought this food, which is why I rated this 4/5 stars. Even with the price jump, if you divided how much you pay per pound this is still cheaper than buying Blue Buffalo food.
Great Senior Food!
April 5, 2016
I purchased this senior formula dog food for my 8 and 6 year old dogs. My 8 year old dog has been moving a little slower and just hasn't been himself this past year. Both of my dogs were a little overweight due to the cold months and not being as active. I switched them slowly to this food and they had no ill side effects like some foods when you first switch. It has been about a month and I have noticed that my dogs are more active and my 8 year old dog is moving much better than he was before switching. He is back to running up the stairs and jumping on the couch. Also, their coats look much shinier and their digestion seems to be benefiting as well. I took one star off of this food because my dog doesn't seem to like the taste as much as he has other foods. He usually lets it sit in his bowl for an hour or so before eating it which can be problematic with a toddler and another dog in the house. Overall, it is a great food and it is a much better price than most other higher end senior dog foods. I will continue to keep my dogs on this food and I have it on subscribe and save so I'll never run out!
Finally, a healthy dog food my dog will eat!
April 9, 2014
My German Sherpherd is somewhat picky, and holds her nose up to any "natural" foods Costco has to offer. I had to start looking elsewhere, but preferred not to pay premium prices and premium feed stores, so I turned to Amazon. It is so nice to be able to order a 40 lb bag of dog food that I don't have to sling into a cart, and then into my truck. Right to my front door.

She enjoyed the food SO much better than her previous food, and I noticed a sheen to her coat after we went through the bag. The only reason I didn't reorder this particular one, was because I wanted to try their food specifically for her breed, which she BEGS for every single morning and evening.

I highly recommend any Canidae pet food products. We feed it to our cat, as well, and he loves the salmon mix.
one food two dogs an 8yr old and a puppy, it is nice to not have to fight to keep them to their own food! they can eat the same!
March 29, 2014
I would have given it a 5 star but my older dog who I thought would love it "due to the fish" has taken a bit to come around. I originally picked this product for the convenience of being all life stages, as well as a very high quality food, with low impact on sensitive tummies.our new puppy who was having trouble with loose stool, and seemed to love our older dogs food more than her own puppy food, has been having a heck of a time with loose stool and dry nose, and over all malinayse, in combination of starting her on this product and adding a flora pack to her diet, her nose is nice and wet, she is much happier, and her stool is doing much better, although If I forget to give her the flora pack she tends to continue to have loose stool. So I don't know how much the food is or is not contributing to her stool bulking up, my older dog is starting to come around to the taste or "lack of taste" I guess the fact that it isn't full of fillers is why it doesn't smell very much like any thing? But I will say it is a very high quality food with wonderful stuff in it for them, and the convenience of one food for all life stages is wonderful!

Helping in one way, but not the other
November 1, 2017
I ordered this dog food for my two dogs who have stomach and skin issues. It seems to be helping with the sensitive stomach issues, but I have not seen improvement in my dog with the severe skin issues. They really enjoy the food and the lessening of the stomach issues is a good reason to keep purchasing it.

One out of two...
December 26, 2016
I started giving our dog Hill's Science Diet Adult Sensitive Stomach & Skin in an effort to address his skin and weight issues. My three-year-old German Shorthair Pointer has always had a hard time maintaining a healthy weight—always too thin, ribs and hips showing—and, he was always scratching and gnawing to the point of hair loss and bleeding. The dog likes the food—eats every bite. But, in order to put weight on, I had to double the recommended amount; he now eats six cups a day to maintain a healthy looking 65lbs. Unfortunately, his skin issues did not improve, and he is now on medication for allergies. Hope this helps.
Not going to buy again
August 27, 2016
My dog loves to eat everything and he was not happy about being forced to eat this. He did not like the taste. I got this food hoping it would improve his skin/yeast problem or at least wouldn't have any allergens in it. This food didn't make his skin worse but it didn't get better either. I don't think it's worth the price.

I like it, my dog doesn't
July 19, 2017
I love this food personally because I feel good feeding it to my dog, unfortunately he does NOT like it. He doesn't get sick from it that I can tell, but he does not like it and tries to hide it :( He might just be picky, but I've gotten him to eat other foods that are still good for him and he's liked it. I think this just doesn't taste as good to him as other foods.
My dog gives this two paws down!
April 16, 2016
I got this dog food for my 9 year old German Shorthair Pointer. I'm trying to be more cautious about what I feed my dog and this appealed to me because it's for seniors. My dog actually did not like the taste of it. Which is unusual because my dog likes most everything. This is dry kibble which is about the size of rabbit pellets, all the same shape, size and color. My dog wouldn't eat it straight out of the bowl and wouldn't eat it mixed with other canned dog food. The only way I can get her to eat any of it is if I put it in one of those Kong dispensers. If the food is in one of those she will smack the toy around to get the kibble out and she does eat it that way but she is not interested in it long enough to get enough out of it to fill her up. She just didn't like the flavor as I switched her to a different brand and now she is doing fine! That being said, I do think it's worth a try because it has very healthy ingredients. It would be great if your dog likes the taste of it. My dog is just a little too spoiled for her own good. I've had this bag 3 months and haven't even used one pound yet! It does have vitamins for it that are especially for older dogs, including glucosamine and chrondrointin for joints and hips/arthritis type pain. So all together my dog gives this dog food two paws down!
I really wanted to be so happy I bought this stuff
March 14, 2016
I really wanted to be so happy I bought this stuff, but my puppy doesn't really like it all that well. It may because the breeder put him on pedegree, and he likes that better or something. Maybe he'll get used to it. He only eats like a tablespoon of food when he eats till he's full, so yeah. I really hope he gets used to it, because I'm not tossing it. At this point, I probably wont buy again, but every dog is different, and I really think probiotics in dog food is awesome. I weened him off the pedegree btw, in case someone was worried. he hasn't had any problems with digestion and went to the vet today. He's doing great with the food switch, he just doesn't like it much I guess.
Fantastic price, deadly dog farts.
August 24, 2015
I'm sure this is great dog food, but a couple things... After a couple weeks, my Airedale did not find it to be as appetizing as he originally did. He usually eats as soon as the food hits his bowl. He then started to let it sit for a few hours before he would eat, and sometimes not finish it. Also,I could not find any information about the facility that this food is processed in. I don't like that. Finally, it also gave my dog the worst farts ever. I mean, it took his gas to a whole new level. The price for a 44lb bag is fantastic, but I had to revert back to Blue Buffalo Turkey & Potato. I'm sure some dogs will do just fine on this food, but it wasn't for my terrier.
Not For Us BUT Still Worth a Try
August 12, 2015
When we found out just how bad commercial dog food was for our dog (who started vomiting and losing weight rapidly) we chose Canidae brand food for our pets, after much research. Our dog is a rescue and was already pretty skinny when we got her. She wasn't too impressed with this dog food which was disappointing because I liked the ingredients and how much better it would be for her compared to commercial junk. Likewise our cats didn't like the Canidae cat food either and refused to eat (these fat cats never refuse food until we tried this brand on them).

So for our dog we actually tried Canidae Grain-Free first, which she didn't take to and then we tried Life Stages but she still refused it. I realize it can take a pet some time to adjust to a new food, and there's a way to introduce new food, but when the dog starves herself rather than eat the food... we kind of need to move on and try something else. Our dog refused the Canidae dog foods, our cats refused the Canidae cat food.

We have since found another great brand (that is grain-free) and she chows down on it, is finally putting on weight and has stopped vomiting. It is not part of the Canidae brand.

I am only rating Canidae Life Stages with 3 stars because it didn't work out for us BUT I still think it's worth trying with your own pet! Our bag arrived timely, was intact and wasn't outdated, seemed fresh, etc. Give it a try! It has great ratings elsewhere but just wasn't for us.

Didn't work for us. Here's why:
October 30, 2017
Purchased for a senior advanced cardiac patient as this was on the recommended short list of low-sodium foods provided by my vet.One- my dog didn't want to eat it. I had to toss it in salt free broth and oatmeal to get him to bother with it. He's already old and keeping him fed and his energy up is important.Two- I could tell immediately that "low sodium" is relative. My dog takes diuretics and any time he has too much salt, he gets bloated noticeably and quickly, and requires more medication. I wound up feeding this to my other dog and going to Royal Canin Boxer which is a lower sodium food he finds palatable without adding anything to it (the kibble is quite large and might not work for smaller dogs) and does not cause any fluid retention.

My picky babies didn't like it.
June 22, 2016
Unfortunately my picky babies didn't like this brand. It seems to be free of fillers and dyes and has plenty of great ingredients. I was trying to find something with vegetables and vitamins in it but they simply didn't like it. My Golden went days without eating and then just picked at it when she was really hungry. Ended up having to mix it with some leftover of the food we used before to get her to eat again. Seems like a decent product but my girls just didn't like it.
Not the right food for my dogs
December 20, 2015
The ingredients read like a premium dog food, which I've always understood this brand to be, but my dogs have been upchucking almost daily since I transitioned them to this food. And, yes, I did slowly transition by adding in a little more each day, as I reduced the amount of the other food. I'm very disappointed because, again, the quality is good and the company seems to have pets best interests at heart. I would recommend you buy a smaller bag to try this product. If it works for your dog, you'll know it; if it doesn't, you won't be out that much cash.
Some dogs might do great on this food, but mine didn't.
December 7, 2015
Some dogs might do great on this food, but mine didn't. I purchased it based on its positive rating on Dog Food Advisor, but even after transitioning my dogs onto slowly (I'm very careful about this process), they still had gas, loose stool, and seemed constantly hungry. I transitioned back to my 'inferior' brand of ProPlan sport, and the dogs are once again back to their normal selves.

The only reason I gave it two stars and not one, is the dogs did like the taste of it. No hesitation in eating it.

Overall, I wouldn't recommend this brand of dog food.
My GSD did not like the taste and couldn't digest well
June 9, 2015
This probably isn't a really fair review since I don't know if there's anything especially wrong with the product, however my GSD doesn't eat this dog food very well and has had numerous issues with digesting it as well. After several attempts of going through one bag, we ended up switching to another product and she's a much happier puppy now. So our personal experience is not good. Others may be very happy with this product. For my German Shepherd it didn't work for her.
Diarrhea city when bought from Amazon, no problems when bought locally
November 13, 2014
I can only get the 30# bag locally so this seemed an awesome deal. My 3 girls, Bassets 8 and 11 and a Boxer 3, have eaten Canadae All Life Stage before and devoured it. Ordered this is July and my girls only picked at it so I assumed they weren't happy with the taste and mixed it with some Diamond Naturals and they used up the bag. But as winter closes in my budget gets tighter and I ordered the 44# bag on Oct 29. It arrived within 3 days and Nov 5 6 7 I mixed it with what I had remaining of the old food. One of those days, my boxer had her first EVER mess in her crate with a bout of diarrhea. She usually has a cast iron stomach so I was concerned she had eaten something in the yard that probably was not meant to be eaten. Didn't find anything, but then if she had eaten it , whatever it was, there would be nothing to find. Duh.
Since the switch to this bag of food, my smaller basset had only been eating half her dinners and I was worried about her. They are not youngsters anymore. The 8th 9th I came home to diarrhea messes twice, small, but one was bloody. The 10th I was worried about the food and bough some Just 6 at the grocery and fed that instead. Same for the 11th. The 12th I convinced myself it was all in my head and I was wasting perfectly good food so I mixed the Just 6 half and half with the Canadae and came home tonight to diarrhea everywhere! Oh Joy! Nope. Never again. Cant figure out how to return 35lbs of dog food no longer in its original packaging so I'm out over $55. Not sure if its Canadae or this batch from Amazon but I can't take the chance with my girlies.

No expiration date
October 30, 2017
Normally this is a good product, for some reason the smell of it is off. I looked for an expiration date but never found one. I know it's too late to return it, but in the future, I would like the expiration date on the packaging. I have bought 2 4lb. bags from my local Petco, and I could clearly see the expiration date on it. I'm very sorry, I should not have procrastinated on returning it. I'm pretty sure it's new dog food, as it has the new velcro zipper on it. I just can't in good conscience feed it to my dog.
Bad Allergic Reaction
January 5, 2017
My poor dog baby had a very bad reaction to this food. After he ate only one meal of this food; a little while later my dog started rolling around on the floor and dragging his ears back and forth to relieve the itching.I tried to console him and I knew he was suffering because his normal pale pink ears were beet red and he began to yelp and hollar. The vet said that my dog's allergic reaction was most definitely caused by the Sorghum grain (in this food) that is a grass grain also referred to "Jameson grass." I don't understand why this sorghum grain is in even in this dog food other than it's cheap filler; since dogs with itchy skin normally would be suffering with allergies and would probably react to this ingredient as well.We have been feeding my dog Purina Sensitive Skin and Stomach and will keep using that for now since he has had no allergic reactions to that food.We were hoping this food would be better in improving my dog's skin but unfortunately this food didn't work out for us.

I am so disappointed. I wanted this food to help with my dogs itching. I slowly introduced it in with her other dog food. She's now been eating it for 2 wks and has the worst diarrhea. I'm afraid I'm going to have to put her back on her original food. Has anyone else had this problem?
Made my dog itch like crazy, and vomit.
June 17, 2016
My dog threw up and itched like crazy on this food. They say to keep your dog on it for a few weeks so that you can give it a chance to work, so I did, but after realizing it didn't work for him, it was too late to return. Now I have a big bag that I can't use.

I have adopted two boxers in the last 5 years, and both were being fed Science Diet Sensitive Stomach when we got them. The foster mother was a veterinarian and said that both had sensitive stomachs and needed this food. My first boxer did just ok on it, but she would occasionally get nauseous, wasn't very energetic and had a few "bloat" scares early on. She passed away from cancer a few years ago and we adopted our second boxer. Her previous family gave her up because they thought she had pancreatitis and couldn't handle the constant throwing up/sickness and vet bills. The foster agency claimed they started her on Science Diet and she wasn't throwing up anymore... way off!!! She was throwing up 1-2 times a week for months and months and was miserable! My poor girl was having bloat and nausea issues, and would throw up her food as long as 8-12 hours later and it would still be undigested! We noticed that it would soak up a ton of liquid in her stomach too and double or triple in size. After tons of vet visits and money spent with no real solution we decided to research dog food and get her a limited ingredient food and see if that helped. Within a week she was feeling better... no throwing up, no nausea, no trips to the vet. It's been six months and not one instance or even a hint of her being nauseous! Her skin is gorgeous, she has a ton of energy, and she is the happiest dog I have ever seen.

Something is wrong with this bag of food.
December 25, 2016
I have been buying this dog food for 4 years, for some reason this bag of food is all crumbly and I am throwing out a lot of it. My dogs don't eat the crumbles only the actual round pellets. Not sure what is wrong with this bag of food. I would have returned it but I pour the bag into an air tight container and I don't have the bag. Would love to hear back from the company that makes this. Still waiting to hear from the company to find out what is wrong with my crumpled food in this last bag I ordered.

Made both my dogs have GI issues. I should have researched this product more and blame myself. So far I have read that that one of the probiotics is harmful for dogs and that it has too much of omega 6 in it. Whether this is true or not I don't really know but I will not be researching it anymore as I am done with Canidae products.
Upset my dogs digestion
October 24, 2015
I wanted something a little more pure than the lamb and rice pro plan I had my dogs on so we tried Canidae lamb. This food gave BOTH my dogs watery diarrhea that they couldn't control and soiled their crates SEVERAL times. It took me about 2 weeks to figure out it was this food because the transition to it went fine and it wasn't until about a week into being solely on this formula that they both started getting watery stools. It's suspicious they both had this reaction but it was truly the food. I eliminated it and worked it back in after bland diets for a few days just like you're supposed to, because I assumed it was a bug. Well after working them back on this food for the 3rd time I realized it was the food! Went immediately back to pro plan lamb formula and haven't had a problem since. Lesson learned, don't mess with a good thing! I would not recommend. I have 2 poodle/Aussie shepherd mixes.
Vomiting and diarrhea on just using tiny amount of Canidae dry food
September 22, 2015
TWICE when I added a small amount of Canidae to our current dry dog food to begin the switchover to what I thought would be a superior dog food, our lab began vomiting and had diarrhea. After the first time, we withheld food to let her system calm down and then started just with the old food. A couple days later, we added maybe 10 PIECES of the Canidae and she is already vomiting and diarrhea again. Don't know if it's just a bad batch or if it's the dog food in general, but I won't try this food again. Amazon immediately is processing a full refund as well as investigating the food, so props to them!
My dogs got horribly sick!!!!!
August 23, 2015
This horribble food mad bith of my yorkies very, very sick. Huge vet bills followed by finally figuring out it was the food that was causing the vommiting and diahrea. When it was one dog we suspected but then both dogs and we recently changed to this horrible food...yes we know how to slowly change the food.....we put 2 and 2 together to equal very sick dogs. We have stopped this food, reported it to Amazon and want to warn everyone. DO NOT BUY THIS DOG FOOD IF YOU VALUE YOUR PETS HEALTH. I only wish i could give this zero stars!!!!!!!!!!
