Easy to use, works great
September 17, 2017
This is the 2nd one of these we have purchased, because we unfortunately left the last one with a friend before moving out of state. We knew that we immediately needed another. Very easy to use and we've never had problems with it. Some electronic wine openers have to sit in a base to be charged, in a way that makes them unusable when they are on low charge. This one has a charging cable that can stay connected during use. Very pleased with this product (x2).
Easy to use - but my top broke after a couple of months - Company contacted me immediately to send new item
August 18, 2017
Wine opener is easy to use. Have purchased two units, one for friend who saw mine. My top wine foil cover (silver ring) broke and does not attach permanently to unit. I would have expected item to not break. Did not mishandle. Not sure if it has a warranty.UPDATE: Contacted company vie email and they will be sending me out new unit. Unit that is broken then will be returned. Contacted me within 3 hours to advise of new shipment. Outstanding customer service, moved my previous eval from 2 to 5 stars. Company stands behind the product.
Our new favorite gadget
August 7, 2017
We love this and wished we bought one years ago! We finally did after two relatives, including one with arthritis, raved about theirs. It's great for opening multiple bottles at parties, for getting out tight corks, including synthetic ones, and much easier to use than manual corkscrews. The attached cutter works great and means I don't have to dig one out of the drawer each time. Ours arrived with almost a full charge so we could start using it right away. We get about 50 - 60 bottles per charge. The charger is easy to use and stays in the drawer when we don't need it.
Awesome wine opener
March 17, 2017
Awesome wine opener!, Purchased as a gift and I like it better than my electric opener. It is easy to use, lights up into a cool "spaceship" blue color when plugged in and would look awesome sitting on a bar top. The foil cutter is integrated into the top of the opener, so you never need to look for it!
Excellent choice!!
January 8, 2017
I was a little nervous about buying this because it was a lot less than some of the name brand versions and there were a few poor reviews, but I am very happy with this opener!I bought it for my wife because she has problems using other styles of corkscrews. We have several that are supposed to be easy, but she still struggles with them and gets frustrated. This thing takes all the hassle out of her getting sauced up! ;)Very easy to use, opens wine with minimal effort, looks cool, seems well built, and is rechargeable. Extremely happy with it. The only thing I could say that would be less than 100% positive is that it is a tad bit noisy. But it pulls the cork out in about 10 seconds, so we've been able to suffer through the inconvenience.
Company Stands Behind Their Products!
June 9, 2016
UPDATE 20 June 16: Received an email from the company the day after stating that they were very sorry and would replace the item. The next day they shipped out a new opener with a UPS return label. New opener works fine. Great customer service and would purchase this product again! Thanks support!***Purchased this in September 2015 and broke this month. The part where the foil opener attaches has some cheap plastic piece. Now the thing won't lock on top anymore. Other than that it was a good opener but not anymore. It didn't even last 1 year. #fail

So far i'm impressed with this product even though i haven't been able to use it yet. it arrived quickly in good packaging. just by holding it, i feel it is sturdier than others of this type that i've used in the past. I also like that it came with the bottle stopper.
Buying another one, for good reasons!!!

I am sad to read all these negative reviews of this product. I am thrilled with this bottle opener as well as the wine stopper! I want you all to know I purchased this set on February 25th, 2015, and the opener just died on me today, March 3rd, 2017. I should also disclose that this opener and stopper have always been hand-washed with gentle soaps and never soaked in bleach. It has been a trooper. I love it. A piece of my heart broke when I was horsing around with this in my kitchen and one of the bolts that holds the arm fell out. A piece of me died, until I pulled up my purchase history and bought a new set. Now I will have two wonderful wine stoppers and an amazing opener. 2-day shipping never looked so good!
Yes, this works for opening bottles.
February 16, 2016
Inexpensive kitchen utensils that look nice and work like they're supposed to are great. This falls into that category. My wife uses this frequently to open bottles of wine. I use this frequently to open bottles of beer. It works great for both.Admittedly, we don't use the stopper often as we usually consume whatever we open before it needs to be stored but the few times we have used it it has seemed to do exactly what it's supposed to do.I'm sure you can get a nicer corkscrew set than this but unless you're entertaining a lot and want to show off your super fancy utensils why spend more money?
nice corkscrew for the price
January 3, 2015
After using a lot of grocery store bought wine corkscrews, one the corkscrew came out and was stuck in the cork, and another one the arms broke off so I couldn't get the cork out, ended up cutting the cork out and filtering the wine. So on to the review, first of all Precision Kitchenware shipped very quickly, I received the item on time and packaged well. The arms on the corkscrew are wider and therefore fell stronger then the ones I had and works well. It's all metal construction so it does feel sturdier then the previous two I bought at the grocery store. The cork stopper is a bonus item, which if you're going to drink the wine in one evening is easy to use and does seal well enough.
Sturdy and functional
July 8, 2014
Pretty basic corkscrew design - this one is very sturdy though and on 2 wine bottles, one actual cork the other the plastic rubber cork, it did fine. About 2/3 mm were left in the bottle after the wings were completely down (which I find is basic with all of these types of corkscrews) just a little tug and wiggle gets it out. That is also after I twisted it down into the cork right up to the base. I cannot find another way to phrase any of this, I apologize. I do not use the stopper since I found a great locking stopper from the dollar store. I did notice though, the stopper ball came completely unscrewed from the pointy part - and even when I tightened it, never really is snug. I am unaware this will effect performance besides the ball completely falling off.
I hope this lasts as long as they advertise!!!
May 24, 2014
I've been trying to find this type of corkscrew which potentially can last for years instead of breaking within months. This is "guaranteed for life", though I'd hardly expect I'd ever make a claim unless it died within the first year or so. Seems extremely well made and solid and comes with that stylish and effective steel and rubber bottle stopper. Will keep fingers crossed.

Worked perfectly for almost 2 years
September 17, 2017
Worked perfectly and especially for someone with carpal tunnel who belongs to a serious wine group. Used daily and opened everything easily. In the past few weeks it seemed to be working harder to open a bottle and then last night the corkscrew snapped at the plastic fitting holding it in the machine. Really a shame since we'd been very happy with it.
Work less drink more

This bottle opener is the best. It has worked like a charm every time. The only reason for 4 stars is the wine pourer's little black rubber end came off in one of the wine bottles which we through out so now it doesn't work. All is well, we bought another one. If your struggling to open your wine bottle then buy this opener today you won't regret it.

Like others have commented this would be 5 stars if the motor was a little more powerful. It does remove the cork but sounds like it struggles to do so.
Good Unit - works for me
April 12, 2016
Works really well, but clear the battery is undersized. I get 1 or 2 bottles at most without a recharge. But it does work and is very convenient.Since I've bought this I've seen other devices at friends houses where they don't have problems with the battery, so I think you get what you pay forUpdated 4/28/2016 - The folks who shipped this to me saw my review and good it on themselves to ship me another one as I probably had a defective unit with a weak battery. The new one is better. I do appreciate their rapid action :-)
Great buy for the price!!
December 28, 2015
This is a sleek kitchen device and I love it. It is a great standard size and light weight, but sturdy. It is so easy to use. Simple rest the metal part on the cork and hold the bottle from moving and it does all the work. I also had a chance to use the foil cutter on a bigger bottle that was a one time cut and it opened. However I used the cutter on a small head bottle and it was a struggle to get the cutter thru the wrapper. It took nearly 5 attempts to get the seal broken with the cutter, however once off, the open worked great with the cork. So worth the purchase. The lighting up is an added flare! Lots of compliments received.

easy handling wine cork puller
May 30, 2016
A big, solid, easy handling wine cork puller. I have one in my other house which is the exact same dimensions and shape and design, down to the minutest detail, which is 4-5 years old and much better than this one: even more solid feel, satin finish rather than shiny, and smooth as silk in operation (this one is a little metallic and grating sometimes in operation). I like wine and have a LOT of corkscrews, and these two I've just described are #1 and #2 favorites among all of them.
Beautiful Finish - Fancy Stopper!
December 6, 2015
I'm honestly not quite sure where a lot of the negative reviews are coming from as it mostly seems to stem from what would appear to be a faulty device. The unit that I received was great; been using it since June 2015. It's really hard to say how unique this design and set is though as very similar-looking products seem to exist all-throughout the Amazon Store.I will say however, that although the build is great, feels great in the hands, easy to use, and has a great finish, the white o-ring at the base feels, well...VERY cheap compared to the rest of the device. This is where it lost its one star. The inclusion of the wine stopper is an added-bonus for the price, and to top it off, was described by a lot of my friends as some 'fancy s***. It might not be a panty-dropper, but it definitely stops the wine.
Precision Kitchenware - Luxury Corkscrew and Wine Stopper Set - PK002
August 25, 2014
Works so much better and is heavier than my old cheapo one that broke (both extraction arms snapped a part). You do have to drive the screw pretty far into the cork in order to remove it enough so you can wiggle it out. You do have to go through the cork so sometimes cork pieces get into the wine. The Cork is very well built and heavy. Nice combo. I would give it a five star if the worm screw was a little longer (so you wouldn't have to penetrate all the way through the cork and still be able to extract the cork).UPDATE: THE MANUFACTURER FINALLY RESPONDED TO MY REQUEST THAT HE MAKE THE WORM LONGER! THIS PRODUCT IS WORTHY OF FOUR STARS!Update: I finally found a wine that has slightly longer cork and so far: 1) I destroyed the cork trying to get it out of the bottle by pulling enormously hard. 2) I broke the cork in half and was able to clear the worm and re-drill into what was left of the cork to successfully open. 3) I pulled cork halfway out, cut the cork off at bottle and then continued to remove the rest of the cork. SHEEZE! This is still by far a beefier version than I originally had and it works on almost every cork. I am glad I still got it.

OK, but very limited useful life
April 29, 2017
Worked OK for about 1 year. After about 1 year it no longer had enough power to remove corks. This is most likely a battery issue. This is the 2nd brand that I have purchased, the 1st seemed to last "slightly" longer. I go through a bottle of wine every two or three weeks, so it definitely is not being over used. I have since purchased another brand that seems to have more power from the beginning (will review later). The latest one has been working quite well for 4 months now. Based on the current ease at which it removes corks, I am predicting a much longer life.
Convenient
April 8, 2017
Had it a short while and it is not going to last. Has to be constantly charged. Old one lasted 6 years so I do not know what is the problem.
The opener works fine, wine pourer and stopper doesn't really work
March 26, 2017
The opener works fine, wine pourer and stopper doesn't really work. The rubber part drop off from the stopper into the bottle. The stopper didn't fit well.
It's not great or terrible, but it keeps on working
February 26, 2016
I've been using this for awhile and have also used the Oster one that's right in the same price range. They both have their pros and cons and this one has lasted longer. However, this one feels like it's always on the verge of dying. It doesn't matter if I charged it all day and then opened a single bottle of wine. You can hear, feel, and see (blue light dims) that the opener is struggling. So far as I'm concerned the claim that "Newly designed motor now opens up to 60 bottles on a single charge" is a BS statement. I'd be surprised if it opened ten bottles before needing a second charge. Like I've said, I've also used the Oster one. It's definitely got more power in its little motor. The Ozeri just keeps working, though. It's got an external cable for charging. It's less sleek than a charging base, but it's also a big improvement over that for one simple reason - the Oster opener is garbage the second that it runs out of batteries with a cork stuck in it. You can't charge it again without busting out your tool set and going to work on removing the cork. This is exactly what you want to do when you have friends and family over, a dinner getting cold on the table, and a few bottles of wine that are now impossible to open... get my point? So, the Ozeri wins on this account. It's got a weaker motor that seems like it's always one bottle away from grinding to a halt, but it can be charged no matter what and has so far continued to work for me in the year that I've had it.
Nice for those bad with corkscrews
January 28, 2014
I've opened a few bottles of wine with this device, and it has worked well every time! Sometimes, it sounds/looks like it's working hard, but it always gets the cork out, no problems. The pourer and stopper are nice, however the little rubber part of the pourer that helps fit to all size wine bottles fell off somewhere in my 2nd/3rd bottle of wine, and I didn't notice. So now it doesn't really fit snugly, with just the metal exposed. The foil cutter is really nice, but it usually take a couple of tries to get it right.Overall, this is a lot easier than a cork screw!
Exceeded expectations at first, then went downhill.
December 5, 2012
My old mechanical "rising wings" opener broke just when I tore some ligaments in my wrist so I decided to try an electric opener. This Ozeri does the job nicely. The mfr says it will open about 40 bottles on a full charge and the one time I kept track it opened 43 cleanly and a 44th which I had to "goose" along [start, stop, repeat] So claim met. I insert the screw for 5", then I press the retract button [it takes 3-4" to engage] for about 6-7" to pull the cork. You do need to have a firm grip on the bottle when retracting. Another 6-7" to free the cork and you're done. The whole process takes no more than 25" and is easy.UPDATE 7/17: Over time the battery has run out with increasing frequency. I'm now lucky to be able to open 9-10 bottles before the opener needs recharging.

No longer comes in a gift box
May 11, 2017
I bought this set to be intended for a wedding gift as I saw that Precision Kitchenware replied to a question on packaging saying that it came in a luxurious black gift box. I was super disappointed when I received it, as it arrived in just regular molded plastic packaging, like it would be if it were hanging on a peg at the store. Back to the seller it will go. I gave it three stars as I cannot attest to the quality of the product.
Did not meet expectations but customer service is excellent
March 7, 2017
I really wanted this to work...my 'antique' one broke and looked very similar. This one has a few issues. For one, the arms do not start to rise until very late in the game...you can't pull the cork out easy. To get the cork out, you do have to twist until it comes through the inside end. Not good. Also..not sure why...the spirals are to thick? but it really does tear up the cork. Sometimes problems are user-error - I see people have liked this and perhaps it is as much my problem. Was very pleased when the vendor reached out to me.
The stopper works fine, but
January 5, 2016
I have pulled many corks and broken many cork screws. I purchased this because it is all metal, and I wanted something that would last. But, the tolerances are not very tight. So the "action" is not smooth and I don't expect it to last for many years. As others have stated, the design does not allow the auger to go deep enough, into the cork, to fully extract the cork, when you pull the "wings" down. The stopper works fine, but, the round top won't stay screwed into the rest of the stopper.
Auger too short
October 22, 2015
The auger is way too short which give you two choices. You can stop screwing the auger in when it ends which leads to the levers only slightly raised. When you push down on the wings, the stopper will only partially lift from the bottle and you will then become involved in a wrestling match. The second option is to force the auger into the cork until the wings are suitably deployed. If you do this, the auger acts like a log-splitter and pulverizes the cork.I contacted the vendor and they are responsive and considerate. I would buy from them again if they offered a better corkscrew.EDITED AFTER CONTACT FROM VENDOR: This vendor called me to offer me a free corkscrew, explaining that they value customer satisfaction. I declined their offer but increased the rating from 2 to 3 stars based on their unusually proactive follow-up. I can't go to 4 stars without giving a false impression that I believe this is a worthy corkscrew. Anyway, the vendor deserves 4 stars but the product only 2.
Perfectly adequate
July 29, 2014
I like that it came with a wine stopper and it does have a very nice, heavy feel. It also is very handy as a bottle opener (I'm mostly a beer drinker). As a wine opener/corkscrew it has been hit and miss. It is maybe a little better digging into the cork than my last $6 opener, but by a whisker. And the stopper/piece of plastic that rings the top of the bottle when in use has already popped off once. It seems like it is probably comparable (from reading Amazon reviews) to the other corkscrews in this range and the stopper is a nice bonus, but I was a little disappointed. Not to throw stones, but a lot of the five star reviews of this product were from people who got it for free, which may have lowered their expectations.

You get what you pay for :(
December 3, 2014
I received this item a very short time ago and straight out of the box it did not function as advertised. Call me silly but one of the product features that influenced my purchasing decision was the LED light/use functionality. OK, so I like cool lights....Upon initial inspection I would say it looked OK. Kind of cheap but that's to be expected for an electric wine opener under 25.00. I plugged in the AC adapter and found the lights to be super cool in a moody sort of way. I charged the unit overnight as recommended. The next day I removed the AC adapter and tried the opener for the first time. The LED lights don't work at all when operated on battery power only and the motor/power is mediocre at best. The added accessories are rather cheap and add no real benefit. I would not purchase this item again and will likely purchase something better soon.
Awesome..
November 24, 2014
Awesome... to start with and then the motor just stopped after a couple of months... Charged the battery... took it apart... no use but to fill a landfill. Was nice when it worked but not much use when it doesn't. We have about 3 bottles of wine a week... so about 30 bottles worth.
Dissapointed
May 9, 2012
I bought this product because of the features it had and the reviews I had read. It was purchased as a gift for a friend who is a fan of wine. Naturally, I was excited to receive my order and wrap it up and give it. It worked great the first time. Nice composition, easy to use and looked great on a counter as a display. However, after only a few uses and several charges, the product gave out on my friend. I felt awful that I had raved about it and was so eager to put it to use only to have it die. Perhaps this is just a one time thing, I just didn't like the fact that it didn't last long.
Works OK...didn't last
January 30, 2012
Bought this to replace our previous wine opener that broke. It looks nice and functions OK. However, it does not seem to have as much torque as our previous opener and it cost more. It opens bottles, but sometimes it really struggles to get the cork out. One thing I don't care for, the charger physically plugs into the opener. If you want to take it to another room, remember to unplug it first. Our last charger just sat into the charging base which is more convenient.Update:This opener only lasted about a year. Threw it out and bought another Oster wine bottle opener. The Oster has more power, a more practical charger, and cost quite a bit less. Don't but this opener. I cahnged my review to 2 stars and that's being a little generous.

Broke after a few months....
March 4, 2016
As a best-seller, I expected much better quality. It seemed solidly built out of the box, but after a few months of use (probably less than two dozen times), the plastic ring inside the round frame came loose, causing the opener to sit crookedly on the top of the bottle. When operating, the cork alignment was thus also crooked when screwing in and removing. I tried popping the ring back in each time, but it always came out again. Cheap and worthless for the price!!
Looks Pretty...but
January 5, 2016
This thing worked great at first- until the corkscrew got stuck in the cork and actually sheared off inside the cork of the wine bottle!!!Never seen this happen before and of course it happens after the Amazon return period is over. There is truth in the saying that all that glitters ain't gold (or chrome in this case!) Went to Walmart and got another for half the price.Precision Kitchenware - Luxury Corkscrew and Wine Stopper Set
Boo for over-sized gadgets
November 29, 2015
If you are one of those people who love the giant grill tools they sell every year around Fathers' Day, you'll love this corkscrew. On the other hand, if you are looking for a standard-sized corkscrew that gets the job done, keep looking. This version is about 1.5 times standard size. In addition to being heavier and taking up more storage, the over-sizing messes up the beer bottle opener feature. It takes two turns to open a bottle; I just tried to make it work with one and it took off the glass lip of the bottle instead.
Part came off on the first usage
June 16, 2014
I was excited to give this corkscrew as a gift because of the rave reviews on Amazon. However, the person I gave it to used it for the first time a week ago, and on the first use, the plastic ring inside in the opening where the corkscrew attaches to the bottle came right off when my friend tried to use it.She inserted it back into the corkscrew, but the third time she used the corkscrew, the plastic piece came right back out again. Disappointing.
Why Can't Anyone Get a Corkscrew Right?
April 4, 2014
This is my 4th winged corkscrew this year. They all failed in ways that you will recognize from their reviews - broken pivot point, broken auger, too short auger, and now this one.At first it seemed OK, but the plastic insert that the auger goes through keeps falling out every time the cork is removed. Arghhh.I strongly suggest a good waiter's corkscrew, but my wife and many guests prefer this style. If only I could find one that works!

Waste of Money
October 25, 2017
Don't waste your money on this underpowered opener. I have had two Oster openers, both of which worked well. But, my wife and decided to try this one. Well, first it has to continually be attached by cord to its charger, or it rapidly runs out of power. Then, it often struggles to open a bottle that has been properly stored (on the side). I am pretty fed up with this thing.

EVERY WORD THERE IS FOR JUNK....
December 2, 2016
I hadn't personally used this "luxury" corkscrew until last night. What a mess. The cork screw wouldn't screw down in the cork. Ended up using all sorts of non-wine tools to get the cork out. The parts flop all around and don't do the job.Right before Thanksgiving, I purchased this Precision Kitchenware Luxury Corkscrew to replace a different brand when its corkscrew broke off. I asked my son (who had been the wine steward) what he thought of it. "Well," he says,I'm glad you asked..." In summation, a piece of junk.
Great unless you need it to remove the cork from a wine bottle.
February 1, 2016
Look closely at the "screw" on this cork screw. It's not like a normal corkscrew, it's more like a drill. Well the point is not to bore a hole through the cork and then drink the wine through it, it's supposed to remove the cork, duh, which it doesn't do. It shreds the cork, so you have to get your pocketknife out to take care of the rest, then you get to have pieces of cork in your wine. Also note the height of the bottom of the "screw" as the arms are down. Do you think the cork will be out of the bottle like that? No, it will barely be half out, so you'll end up yanking on the thing, and since you've drilled a hole halfway down into the cork, guess what, you got a broken cork. What's that you say, just drill farther down? Look how thick the "screw" gets above the screw part. That thing ain't going into the cork. I think the people who give this 5 stars are drinking screw-cap wine and like the stopper. Or maybe they have no idea what a corkscrew is supposed to do, because this things doesn't do crud for sniffles.
POOR QUALITY
October 16, 2015
POOR OVERALL QUALITY...I ordered 2 for corporate rentals and they aren't even good enough for them.- Metal is gouged in one and there is a defect in the metal on the other one.- Looks plated since it's chipping.- Metal below isn't smooth and is pitted in areas.Seems that one was a previous return since it wasn't situated correctly in the box. I have no interest in getting replacements because you can tell the craftsmanship overall is poor.

This wine opener is HORRIBLE. I cannot understand how there are any positive reviews, and assume they must all be fake. I bought this to replace a wine open we'd had for years that finally gave out. I was hoping to buy somewhat of an upgrade, and was willing to spend a bit more- but couldn't seem to find a product that fit the description on Amazon. We attempted to use this item 3 different nights, before sending it back. The first night, the clear plastic inside suctioned to the bottle and we couldn't get it off once the cork pulled out. When we finally did, the white plastic liner remained on the bottle. I ended up pouring the wine with it attached and my husband dealt with it later, it took a tool to get it off. Night #2, the same thing happened. On the third night, my husband attempted to open a beer and the entire bottle opening unit bent in half. Back to Amazon it went. I was really quite surprised, I have come to trust Amazon and their quality reviews- so it really threw me off that I would be sent something of such low quality. I ended up finding a really nice OXO opener for $19.99 at Target that we are very happy with. It's more substantial and a bit more elegant than our previous opener.
Won't pull the cork more than halfway out

Whenever I use this corkscrew, I think of the site "you had ONE job". Corkscrew, you had one job, and you can't do it properly. The screw isn't long enough to pull the cork more than halfway out. If you screw it further, you hit the non-screw part and start destroying the cork (ie, splitting it in half, ie, bits of cork could end up in your wine). If you don't screw it further, well you have a half-out cork and a lot of work ahead of time to pull it out - and hope you don't pull it sideways and break it (as has happened to me several times). You'd think it wouldn't be so hard to have a decent corkscrew design and stick to it. I just can't understand how this could be so flawed. Others have tried it too - it's just not long enough to properly pull the screw out.
Most annoying tool in the kitchen

We bought this to put in a vacation home and while we put through a test period in our own home we came to the conclusion this corkscrew could no way be put to use for guests. Compared to my other very basic corkscrew, this thing terrible. The plastic insert around the bottom of the press comes off every time when prying the cork out of the bottle. It also is very difficult to get the screw into the cork without shredding the cork. A lot of downward force is needed to prevent this from happening while driving the screw into the cork. It's weird but it's an design flaw of some kind. Wish I could find the plane jane opener that works so well!
