Five Star Reviews: | 49% Smells great, protects skin & no sting! November 6, 2015 I used this spray-on seal after my stitches came out following a hip replacement. It kept the skin supple & softened & it smelled terrific. There was no sting, no burning, no chafing. My skin seemed to drink it in. I would not use it on any area WITH redness or open areas, but my incision was closed, & the spray kept it moisturized & free from irritation. It worked great! Works well, seems to sooth. April 22, 2015 This arrived yesterday. I put it on a cut my daughter has and she told me it felt very good. She is still saying that it feels much better this morning. She had been picking at it, which is why we tried this. So far it's done the trick. This doesn't seem like it would stay very long on areas of the body that are rubbed often (fingers, hands, joints). But it's working well in this application. Will Buy Again! January 20, 2015 This thing is great!1.)Stops bleeding almost immediately and makes the cut feel better2.)Doesn't sting!3.)Actually makes the cut smaller, somehow! I believe it pulls the skin together. The cut doesn't bother you and heals quicker, with less scars. You get sort of a small brown halo on the skin surrounding it while it's healing and the thing is on.For someone who gets cut a lot, this thing is great! My only complaint is the applicator. The spray is sort of annoying and puts out too much. I have ended up using a q-tip; my husband just uses his finger to spread the spray around. I like my method better. Not really a big enough deal for me to ding it. Best liquid bandaid June 4, 2014 This works great on uneven cuts like knuckles where bandaids don't work at all. Its also flexible and waterproof and lasts the whole day. It has seriously saved me a few times. Allergy Friendly March 7, 2014 Free of Gluten, Corn, Latex, and the top eight food allergens. The only two ingredients are polyacrylate polymer and water. And it works great! Perfect Winter Relief January 14, 2014 I bought this for my husband who works in all kinds of weather. At this time of year, he gets terribly dry skin, resulting in cracks around his nails and cuticles. He used Lubriderm throughout the day and night, but it just isn't enough. This product helped to seal moisture in and heal the cracks. Great stuff! | 66% This stuff is amazing, I have been buying it for years and ... August 19, 2017 This stuff is amazing, I have been buying it for years and am so thinkful the company made something like this! Great Skin Crack Care! Not a Liquid Bandage ... May 25, 2017 At taking care of SKIN CRACKS this is the best product out there. It is not a liquid bandage! If your knuckles are frayed or abraded, or you have fingertip cracks, this stuff will allow the area to heal with a flexible coating of liquid that dries to a pliable clear finish. It will need to be re-applied for a few days until healing is complete. It is not for open wounds, or cuts. It is for ... skin cracks! Works well and doesn't sting July 22, 2016 I've been using this product for over a year now and I think it's great. I've used a similar product in the past, but it stung badly when I applied it. This stuff barely stings at all, and only on the deepest cuts. I use it frequently around my fingernails and it cuts down on pain. Excellent Product July 19, 2015 If you have those cuts on your hands in the Winter like I get then this is what you'll need. I get cut to ribbons because my hands are in water a lot and in the Winter that can be very bad. We have very hard water and my hands sting with pain with the cuts. I just brush this on, it's like nail polish and the stinging is gone. It stays too! It drys on your skin protecting it from the water. I apply it once a week. You only need it on the cuts. I use Zim's crack creme for the rawness and that works great too. Best Seal for skin cracks January 12, 2015 If you let your fingers get too dehydrated (O'Keeffe's Working Hands is the best I have found as a moisturizer), this will temporarily close the cracks. It is the best product I have found. It is much like nail polish. It has much better sealing and adhesive properties than New Skin. I really have not found a product nearly as good as this one.The only down side is that the bottle dries out after a while. Skin crack care sealer January 12, 2015 This is a great buy with 24 ounces in total as opposed to tiny bottles that look like nail polish. You may need to put it on up to four times a day as the finger protectors my husband wears cause sweating and also friction causes it to wear off. This works well but it is not thick-about the consistency of clear nail polish so you may have to put on more than one coat at a time. It helps in conjunction with the waterproof finger protectors he wears as well as latex gloves when he washes dishes. It is not tacky or sticky and will not cling to gloves. Will continue buying this product. |
Four Star Reviews: | 12% Great alternative January 23, 2016 I marked one start down, because I wish it was thicker and dried faster like the other less natural kinds. But it does dry clear and makes a great barrier. Just be patient. effective and comfortable seal April 22, 2015 Forms a very effective and comfortable seal that helps prevent further abrasion. However, it takes a long time to dry, and is quite difficult to apply to round or convex areas (it rolls away before drying). Product works well, but the spray is way too ... March 13, 2015 Product works well, but the spray is way too much and is difficult to control. If the company could figure out another way to dispense/apply the product, I'd give it 5 stars. | 13% This should be called "no more tears" August 26, 2017 Never mind that other brand that stings like crazy. This one does not. And when you put it on it lasts longer. It comes in a pretty small bottle. but I've had mine long enough for it to get a bit dried out and gloppy and since I need to pitch that and buy another my guess is the size is just right unless you've got a pile of kids who are always cutting and scraping themselves. So it's kind of pricey, especially per ounce compared to the competition, but I would seriously buy it again because it doesn't hurt to put it on a cut. Finger and toes cuts December 10, 2016 So small of amount, crazy the bottle tiny it my just fall over, other then the 10 bucks and the bottle, it works. will end up looking for a different brand. Helps with dry skin cracks. November 28, 2016 Cold weather arrives and I get fingers with painful cracks, especially after a few hours shoveling snow. I tried lotions, bandages, gloves - no luck. NexCare seals the crack allowing it to heal. Best of all it seems when it seals the crack, the pain is minimized. As promised May 12, 2015 This stuff doesn't sting and works pretty well. However the only draw back was that the edges would peel and hurt other cracks. This is probably not an issue for most people since I have numerous cracks at all times. Great Product - Rediculous Price July 7, 2013 This stuff is great for sealing up small cuts or cracks in your hands and feet. I use this all of the time and it works really well. The price always seems ridiculous for the tiny bottle of it you get. That said I keep buying the product because it works and I always want a bottle of it in my 1st aid kit. Not nearly as good as 2-octyl cyanoacrylate products September 24, 2010 I was extremely pleased for many years with the original Band-Aid Liquid Bandage which contained the miracle ingredient 2-octyl cyanoacrylate, a human-safe version of superglue which is currently used by doctors/surgeons/vets as the best available product. This Nexcare product doesn't work as well in any respect compared to the original, and 3M knows it, but it is no longer sold over the counter to people (evidently too many folks were not careful in using it). Note that acetone (horribly stinky nail-polish remover) or mineral oil or any superglue remover does remove this human-safe version of superglue, but this was not common-enough knowledge and folks did not have a remover readily available when they misused it. So it was removed from the consumer market several years ago, evidently due to liability concerns.I used the original Band-Aid liquid bandage for many years for my painful winter skin cracks. A miracle product since it instantly cut the pain. When it was discontinued I tried literally every other product on the market and all had serious deficiencies. This Nexcare liquid bandaid is adequate in filling skin cracks except it doesn't cut the pain at all (my main gripe) and doesn't last nearly as long.I just serendipitously stumbled onto the wikipedia entry for Cyanoacrylate, which includes this in its introductory remarks:"2-octyl cyanoacrylate is a medical grade glue encountered under various trade names; e.g., LiquiBand, SurgiSeal, FloraSeal, Dermabond, Orabase, Surgi-Lock and Nexaband. This was developed to be non-toxic and less irritating to skin tissue."I searched amazon and the only two products in the list of 2-octyl cyanoacrylate products above from wikipedia that are sold (by amazon) are Dermabond (0.5ml for $17) and Surgi-Lock 2oc (2.0ml for $40). There is no other liquid bandage that compares to a product with the main ingredient cyano 2oc -- at least that is what the medical establishment believes (and I know from years of experience, having tried all the liquid bandages on the market). Sorry the real stuff is expensive, but you get what you pay for (plus they can charge doctors nearly any price and get away with it).===============================================================Off topic somewhat, the doctors in our family have recently turned me on to an excellent non-liquid bandage which they use, but a year later, pharmacies still do not sell this quite amazing product. However Amazon does sell it, "3M Micropore paper tape" (also called "3M Micropore surgical tape" because that's what surgeons use). 12 small portable rolls of 10 yards(!) each are about $10, which will last you forever. I have been using the 1" wide version for the past year (also have the 2" wide version, but haven't had a wound that wide yet :-) and am very impressed by its properties. You can easily tear it by hand (no scissors needed!) to the length you want, you can put it on a wound in one layer or wrap it around a finger one or more times. It is "micropore", ie. it lets the wound breathe, and is waterproof enough to stay on through a couple of days of showers.================================================================12/26/14 update: "3M Vetbond" is currently the most cost-effective of the thin medical-grade cyanoacrylate products.Apply one layer (1 drop), let dry (blow on it for faster drying), then apply one or two more layers (drops) and let dry between each, to get the desired thickness. One bottle should last for at 50 two-drop skin crack fixups.By the way, the "3M Nexcare skin crack care" product is almost useless in comparison to "3M Vetbond" |
Three Star Reviews: | 14% This works fine, but it smells like cheese March 29, 2015 This works fine, but it smells like cheese. I didn't realized that there were non-natural options as well... maybe this one is better for me and it works, but I don't really appreciate the smell. Not chemical-y, but sprays a stream instead of a mist March 23, 2015 It may just be my spray nozzle, but it comes out in a stream and then runs off that area of skin. I expected it to be more of a light mist that would need a couple layers for good coverage. As is, I still have to push the puddle of it around. I like that it's not like putting clear nail polish on a scrape, though. Definitely a plus. Love the concept. Formulation not right in practice - too runny & thin/watery. March 19, 2015 Was excited for the product - like the concept, seemed like it would work.Like one reviewer said... way too runny, takes a lot longer than 1-2 min to dry, and there doesn't appear to be anything there when dried.I sat my toddler down on the couch, put on a Dora, and proceeded to spray her scraped knee. Sprayed. Put a paper towel under leg because it ran down off both sides. Product was slightly sticky to the touch - that part's expected, as I'm hoping for a 'natural bandage'. Blew for 3min & still wet. Blew for 5+ min, and first layer appears dry. Applied a 2nd layer - still runny, still blew, took longer to dry. After all was done, didn't see a difference of skin vs. barrier. Could sort of feel it.Couple hours later, jumped in the shower, the little that was there appeared to be gone by the end of the shower. Used a regular bandage with medicine after that. Excellent concept, a little fussy to use. April 22, 2014 I love the idea of this product. And honestly it does work great, but it is very thin when sprayed on which makes it immediately want to run off where you have sprayed it. So you are left standing there trying to balance a thin layer of this very thin liquid on a wound and blowing on it like crazy to try to get it to dry faster. I know you don't need a heavy layer of this, but on the same note the product is SO thin you can't help but feel like you should really put a couple applications on if you want some decent protection. This of course could take a while with several applications and some serious balancing skills needed to prevent run off and don't forget the dry time. This of course is fairly impractical for a wiggling toddler, who doesn't want to be fussed over. Or even a couple of young boys, whose primary goal in life is to acquire scars for future bragging rights. That all being said, it is an interesting product and a good idea! And it feels good on, very thin and flexible. It has a very silicon like feel to it. I honestly don't know how long it would last though without multiple layers on. But I do think it probably offers more protection and keeping a cut or scrap clean than a traditional bandage as it seals around the cut or wound and doesn't allow anything in at all.I think it could have some interesting uses. I wonder if it wouldn't work well as an almost spray on finger cot, for anyone needing a little extra gripping power on your finger tips. Eh...it's ok. March 3, 2014 I got this because of psoriasis on my hands that cause them to crack and bleed around & underneath my finger nails. My thought was that this would help to keep them 'covered'. It sprays in a stream, not a fan-type spray so you waste a lot as it drips. It can handle 1 hand washing at best and is completely useless in a sink of dishes. Guess I'm back to gloves...sigh.This is ok if you are covering a child's scrape or scratch. It doesn't sting but you can't use an antibiotic cream underneath it either. If you want something to keep in your car to use at the park, it's ok. Just remember to clean the wound when you get home. | 7% works ok June 14, 2014 I have used it several time but not sure if it is doing any good but I wouldn't say it wouldn't work for you wasn't impressed March 2, 2014 I work a lot of overtime and my skin sometimes cracks on my fingers. Tried this, applied it several times and could not tell much difference. Don;t think I'll buy it again. Just ok! March 25, 2013 I have to apply it often to protect the crack on my finger. It wears off too quickly. I probably won't buy it again. Worked OK December 10, 2012 My husband gets awful cracks from working outdoors and we were excited when we saw this product. It helped but wasn't a miracle cure. I think that a good hand creme applied many times a day works just as well. He also applies creme and wraps his fingers overnight. That seems to help the most. |
Two Star Reviews: | 11% Clogged just sitting about September 8, 2016 Spray bottle clogged after 2 months in the cabinet.Expected a bit better on the spray partWould look for a pressurized can the next time Not worth it. June 29, 2016 The spray is very thin and tends to run off of the wound easily. It feels sticky instead of drying properly and creating a nice seal on the wound. I don't think this product is worth it, you are better off with a liquid or regular old bandaid. Container is smaller than I expected for the price. ... June 19, 2016 Container is smaller than I expected for the price. Also, the sprayer on it is not a go way to apply Slow to dry. December 8, 2015 I tried this because the description said it could be used on a cold sore. However, this dries so slowly, it was still tacky after almost a minute. I suppose that is ok for other external areas, but to wait for something to dry that long on your lip is a hassle. I probably accidentally licked all of it off before it dried. I'm not sure if that is because I received an almost expired product. Perhaps a fresh bottle would dry faster. | 9% Super dissapointed!! February 9, 2016 They stopped carrying this in stores so i was happy to find it on Amazon. However whatever they have changed in the formula for this product makes it about as useful as clear nail polish. Its so thin and washes off after a couple hand washes. This used to be a great product. I wont buy this again.. Too expensive for what you get January 13, 2016 Like all these products, it works but the bottle is tiny. (.24 oz) New Skin is a much better value for essentially the same product. Don't Count on This March 13, 2015 This stuff is mildly helpful for those nasty cracks between finger and nail that tend to develop in winter, but you have to keep reapplying, and should probably apply liquid bandage over that. I'm a finger-picking guitarist, and my fingers really take a beating. Using this stuff and liquid bandage provided a cushion eventually, but it looked messy and ugly. I did much better using Working Hands hand cream Do not expect this to seal your skin like suture glue or skin glue March 6, 2015 Junk. Do not expect this to seal your skin like suture glue or skin glue, far more worth it to go get Vet bond for you AND your pet. This barely seals and wears off quickly. Lasted about 3 hours and 2 handwashings May 14, 2012 It sealed nicely initially but after washing my hands for the 2nd time in 3 hours, 1/3 of it peeled off. Continuing throught my day the remainder pealed off due to perspiration or something. In the end, I just used Krazy glue and it stayed strong for 3 days. This stuff probably only works on cuts that are not on the hands and are not on joints. I had a cut on the joint of my pinky finger. After the initial 10 minutes of burning and drying, it maybe lasted 30 minutes before I bent my finger and it cracked down the middle, allowing more pain and such into my cut. Seriously, dont wast your time with this and just use krazy glue, they both use acrylate polymer. |
One Star Reviews: | 14% Terrible February 15, 2014 Washed off. stayed sticky to touch. Waste of money. I'd really wanted it to work because it's premise is promising. Used as directed, | 5% Cheap green handcare moisturizer worked much better. March 8, 2016 Didn't work. Cheap green handcare moisturizer worked much better. I have used several products for skin cracks on finger ... September 17, 2015 I have used several products for skin cracks on finger tips. This one failed. I followed the directions carefully, but the cracks reopened. Product did not work for me. I will not buy again. Not for me August 11, 2015 Didn't work for me on the ball of the foot. I have yet to find one that will work there, however. NOT good July 27, 2012 This stuff has all the adhesive properties of Jell-O. Totally useless. The products containing 2-octyl cyanoacrylate are infinitely superior. At least I didn't waste a big pile of money on this. |
