I wish I bought this sooner, I love it!
September 19, 2017
Love it! We have used this ice maker daily since we've purchased it (literally non stop 9 months now) and it's still going strong. I'm actually delightfully surprised it hasn't died yet. We go through a ton of ice daily and it's working great. It doesn't take long to churn out a basket full of ice (about a batch every 7-8 mins). The first few batches of ice (if you fill the reservoir with cold tap water) will be little, wimpy ice cubes until the water chills to a colder temperature, but if you use already chilled water (filtered water from your fridge for example) you'll have bigger ice cubes right off the bat. I typically dump the first few batches of ice back into the water reservoir to cool down the water there if I'm not already using chilled water to begin with. We keep ours right by our kitchen sink so it's easier to clean. There's a plug on the bottom on the front of the machine to drain the reservoir and daily cleaning is simply wiping it down inside and out with a sponge and dish soap. About once a week, we run a few cycles of vinegar/lemon juice/water mix to make sure it is thoroughly clean internally. Just rinse after this, run a few batches of plain water, toss the ice, replace with more fresh water and you're all set!
Looking good! Love the color. Hope it lasts longer than our other ones of a different brand.

It is slightly skinnier and lighter in weight than our last one, but still makes the same amount of ice. We love our ice makers. Hopefully this one lasts longer than the last ones we have purchased (different brand). This one is much quieter also. The only sound we hear is the ice dumping.I purchased the 3 year warranty with it just in case, since that is longer than the other ones usually last.

I first saw this machine on a camping trip on the Russian River. At an RV park. I bought one for my kitchen. It is a wonderful little machine spitting out tons of just the right sized ice cubes all day long. My husband and I just love it. It has been an unusually hot summer and we use it for our iced drinks every day. It pays for itself and is well made.

Got this for our office works amazing! use it every day multiple times a day only takes a few minutes for the ice to fill back up after you empty the basket!! Great product! Great price! Great seller! Thank you!
FAST and EASY! Worth every penny!

I have a fridge that has NO ICE MAKER. And for me, ICE is a must. I chew it. A lot. I was a bit worried about this, as they are not cheap. But, truly, it works VERY NICELY. Now, it is LARGER than you think. I purchased a small table to put this on, because; I didn't want it sitting on the table or the counter. And the little table does nice. It was only $20. And it works perfectly for this.https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B01BXX8RPM/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o09_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1I added photo of my setup, to explain the little table, and ice maker combined. Realize, you add water to it. I found a cup that fills the resevoir in one shot, and simply add water that way. One filling makes a little more than 2-full loads of ice. And it makes those really fast.I make the ice, and put it into an ICE BIN in my freezer, then turn this thing off. That way, it should LAST me a lot longer than it would if you expected it to keep the ice for you.;O)I recommend POWER OFF when you are not making ICE. It powers up FAST. And makes ice FAST. I like it a lot!2016-DEC-27 Update.Never understood the propensity of modern appliances to NEVER FULLY SHUT OFF... This one, for instance, has a green light that BLINKS non-stop as long as it is "OFF". To me, that's a waste. So, I purchased a block, grounded, ON/OFF switch, that the cord plugs into, then that plugs into the wall. That way, I can FULLY turn it off when I'm NOT making Ice. The way I use it, I make 3-full loads of ice, then shut it off until I am running LOW on Ice again. So, this thing is OFF most of the time, and ON only about 1-hour 3-times a week. In my view, it should therefore, last for YEARS using this approach.2017-SEP-19 Update:I've had this now, for almost a year. Still works VERY WELL. HOWEVER, a few things I have done to keep it alive... (1). I not only turn it OFF, but; I have an inline SWITCH installed, that cuts the power to it all together, when it is not being used. I truly believe this may have had a positive impact on it's long life. (2). I have very HARD water where I live, so; I use the VENDING water ONLY in this thing. The kind you see at Walmart or other stores, where you can buy a 3-gallon at a time jug. I am sure it has another positive impact on longevity. (3) I always check the water level BEFORE turning it back on. So, as long as you treat it nicely, and don't use it more than 2-or-3-days a week, as do I, then; it will last you a very long time!
No more buying ice
December 14, 2014
This ice maker is just what I needed. Compact, low power consumption, makes plenty of ice for drinks. I had been buying a bag of ice every week or so for years, since my fridge doesn't have an ice maker, and I'm far to lazy to use ice trays. I had seen and used other peoples' portable ice makers before, but I never wanted to spend the money for one. This unit is made my Edgstar and is part of their Koldfront brand. On Edgestar's website it retails for over $200. So I think under $100 on Amazon is a great deal. It does exactly what it was described to do. There are a couple things you should know about these and other portable ice makers, though. The first couple of batches of ice will smaller, wetter, cubes. As the system continues to run, the refrigeration cycle gets to it's optimum pressures and temperatures, and it will make better, more solid, larger cubes of ice. I think the cold from the ice also chills the water in the basin allowing it to freeze better than room temp water. It does not keep the ice frozen forever once it's produced. The unit does not store the ice in a refrigerated chamber. It is well insulated, but don't turn the machine off and come back 2-3 hours later to have a glass of iced tea. Leave it on and as the ice melts, it will make a batch of ice about once an hour to keep the basket full. It makes one batch of ice every 6-7 minutes. So, in half an hour you have plenty for a couple 16oz tumblers of refreshing beverage. With a full basket (1.8 pounds) of ice, I can easily make drinks for me and my friends, and when it's time for round 2, it has topped up with fresh ice again. I turn it off at night, and turn it back on in the afternoon about a half hour before I want to use the ice. It uses such a small amount of power that I don't feel bad about leaving it on for several hours a day when I'm using ice. It draws 1.7 amps with the compressor and fan running and spikes to 2.1 amps for about 15-20 seconds while using the heating element to release the ice. I'll be doing a power usage test with my Kill A Watt, but in my estimation it uses about .7 kWh per day, using enough ice to keep it running periodically throughout the day. This company also makes a larger model which produces slightly more ice, but for my purposes, the smaller size, less weight (only 20 lbs) and 26 lbs per day production, this "cool" little guy does the trick! The small amount of power consumption is great for RV's running on solar or boondocking without a generator, or just anyone who's energy conscious. *Common sense tip! Clean it before using, especially if you get an "open box" unit like I did. It wasn't super dirty, just dusty and had a tiny spider in it.*

One COOL little ice makers. lmao See what I did there? COOL ice maker?? :)
June 17, 2017
OK, So let's talk about this little Igloo counter top Ice maker. It showed up on my doorstep last Tuesday. It also just happened to be one of the hottest days of 2017 so far in my area. Needless to say. I was super excited. It had sat on my doorstep in the sun most of the day. So needless to say, it and the packaging was a bit toasty. Regardless I brought it in, unpacked it poured water in it, and waited for a cool breeze of ice. FAIL. SO VERY VERY disappointed. Now with all of that being said. Let me tell you an ol saying my grandfather lived by. "Experience is something you get 5 minutes after you needed it." So be the case here as well. The unit as a whole isn't refrigerated. So pouring hot or room temperature water in it the unit is NOT, I repeat NOT going to end well for you. You will get VERY small cubes, and they will melt almost as fast as they are made. Chill your water overnight before you want to start making ice, then what I do, * and you don't have to do this.* but to keep it cooler in the storage area. The first 2 cycles of ice that are made, I dump down into the reservoir. This helps keep everything chilled and you will get better results.Also. another trick I've learned. Don't leave the ice in the catch bin. Once it is about halfway full. Dump it in a one gal zip lock bag. Why a zip lock bag you ask? The ice comes out of the catch bin VERY wet.If you put it in a reg ice bucket then put it in the freezer. You're going to end up with nothing more than a block of ice, and it is difficult to break apart. If you put it in a zip lock freezer bag, it breaks up much easier. All in all, I am VERY pleased with this. I was a bit concerned about some of the naysayers, and the bad reviews they posted. But with a little thinking on my part, I addressed all of their problems with more than pleasing results. Some people are just a bit too lazy to think, and to fast to complain.Oh, one more tip. When you are done making ice, dry it out as best you can, then get an old clean sock, and put some white rice in it. Then set it in the holding tank. It will draw out any leftover moisture and prevent any moldUpdate. 4 months later, and it still works like a champ.
I love this ice machine
June 3, 2017
I'll be brief and do this as a list so it's easy to read:1) ice cubes are only clear/transparent for the first 1-2 batches, basically while the water in the basin is still at room temp, however I was not looking for clear ice cubes2) they are chewable, especially the small ones3) makes lots of ice once the machine has been on for about an hour, needs time to chill contents4) the ice that is made stays "scoop-able" (loose and individual) while inside the machine, however, it all does freeze together once transferred to your freezer. REMEDY: Not everyone has room to do this but this is what my family does. I fill plastic cups with the ice and place the cups into the freezer. Then when you need ice, just grab a pre-filled cup. If you just need the ice for a cup you are already using, get a pre-filled cup and run water over the outside of the cup to loosen the ice from its hold on the cup. The ice will slide out in one chunk that can easily go into the cup you are already using. The now empty cup can then just be filled again and go back into the freezer since it didn't get dirty. Just a suggestion that works in my house.5) the sensors for needing more water and ice bin full do work but are not 100% reliable so just keep an eye on them. Whether they function or not doesn't effect the quality of the ice.6) yes, I run it all day long 3-4 days a week in the summer, sometimes more, no problems in the 2 years we've had it7) the machine is not a freezer so the ice produced does slowly melt. I have not noticed a weird taste to ice that is made from melted ice. I use water from my reverse osmosis system.8) if I'm not using the machine for a period of time (we use a lot less ice in the winter), I drain it (which is easily done but just opening the valve on the side and placing a cookie sheet with a lip to catch the water, don't need it all over the counter), and then wipe it out with a rag and a very very dilute bleach solution. I then just fold up a paper towel and use it to prop the lid open just a crack so it can dry out completely but it won't be open to collect dust. Then its ready to go the next spring.Again, I love this thing. Yes, it would be nice to have water plumbed to it, but filling it really isn't that big of a deal. If you want ice, this is a perfect way to have lots.
Love the larger ice capacity
September 26, 2016
I bought this for my in laws. They had another one for years, but it finally bit the dust so we bought this as a replacement. The difference is this one holds a lot more ice at a time which is great! My mother in law makes a lot of shakes, so she uses a lot of ice. The cubes can be 3 different sizes, personally I like the large. It also makes the ice very fast, which is great for get togethers.I always depends on reviews when I'm shopping on Amazon, so I hope you found this helpful. If you did, please click the 'helpful' button below! Thank you!
Glamorous Ice Maker Works Great
September 17, 2016
The Igloo ICE103 counter top ice maker is fast and makes three sizes of clear ice. It is relatively light weight when compared to my initial counter top ice maker. This allows for easier cleaning. The Romans said "In matters of taste there is no dispute". However, if they had electricity back in their day, I'm certain they would find it attractive (and a bargain), as do my wife and I.
This little gadget will really crank out the ice
April 26, 2016
This little gadget will really crank out the ice, but it's probably not exactly what you think it is.Where the ice is made is freezing (obviously), but the storage area is just insulated. When the ice basket is full, the machine goes to sleep.Over time, the stored ice will melt, and the machine will wake up and replace it.Running, the unit draws 108W (as measured with a "Kill-A-Watt" meter)Over a 10 day test period, my unit consumed 6.34 kWh. That's 0.63 kWh per day (11 cents worth of power where I live). My family (4 adults) uses ice in everything. A drink of water typically starts with a glass full of ice.A lot of ice.... that's my point. The machine kept up.You have to remember to fill the reservoir, but that's easy.If you're trying to make ice for a party, dump the ice into a cooler-- not your freezer. The ice is wet. It'll freeze into a big glob if you put it into a freezer.Figure on emptying the basket every couple of hours. Refill at the same time.It rips out the cubes. I was really surprised. There's not a lot of visible difference between small, medium, and large cubes. The large ones are thicker. That's the size I'm using. When full, it's silent. When making ice, it sounds like a refrigerator. When dumping ice, you'll hear running water and the cubes tumble.
Great Product! Amazon Prime Quick Ship!
July 19, 2015
I ordered this 1 Jul 2015 and received it by 3 Jul 2015. Thanks Amazon Prime!19 Jul 2015 I have made ice non stop with this little machine. I have to admit I was extremely surprised at the amount of ice it actually produces. At first when I seen 8 ice cubes produced, I thought that hmmm maybe not such a great deal. I was wrong! This small unit holds quite a bit and when the ice basket is full it quits making ice. This is a small unit great for limited space. The unit fits on a tv table tray in the kitchen so it out of the way completely. (Very convenient! I purchased this for my travel trailer so I can utilize the freezer space. I price shopped Walmart/Kohl's/Bed Bath and Beyond/Ebay/etc. Amazon had the best price on this particular item.Only thing I would change if there was an option to keep ice frozen after being produced. Not really a big deal since as the ice melts it just returns to the water supply to be made into ice again.

works as stated. few things I'd change
September 14, 2017
It works as promised. Makes a batch of ice in 7 minutes or so. the cubes are great size. Two things I would change. The water resovor holds enough water to fill the ice bin up 5 or 6 times. I'd rather have less water and it make more ice as it cuts off when the bin is full. To make the 20 pounds as stated I'd have to be up all night..for one person, it makes enough for drinks, but for 3 or 4 people you need to make it and freeze it.i bought it for a vacation home that my ice maker does not keep up.would i buy it again? probably, but I would research ones with a deeper ice bin. But for $80.00 it works.
Seems to be working nicely

seems to be working fine. Last one with a different name on it crapped out after a few months. There are SO many companies putting their names on these very same models from the same manufacturer.

Makes ice quickly and in two cube sizes. You have to keep up with transferring ice to freezer as there is no additional compartment to store ice in machine.
The ice......is Nice!
May 11, 2017
Works very well. Using cold water gets you ice a little faster but room temperature water works fine too. It's just easier and more efficient than ice trays. Four stars instead of five because my machine makes large cubes when set on small and small cubes when set on large. Goood gift item and I bring mine to parties for backup ice.
So convenient!
March 12, 2017
So far, been using this since Christmas (approx 3 months) and the only malfunction is that the light doesn't come on when the water is low, but it's easy to check or listen for the sound so it's no big deal!
Makes ice fast.
December 19, 2016
I have had this ice maker for about 6 months, and I use it maybe 2 times a month. It makes ice fast and it really cool to watch. The only issue I have with it is that sometimes the sensors don't work and the ice will keep making after the basket is full and sometimes tries to keep sucking water after the reservoir is empty. It still makes ice just fine, I just have to keep watching it.

Makes 2 pounds at a time, but good product.
November 11, 2017
This ice machine has worked great running full time since we got it several months ago. It started making some noise so we ran a vinegar solution through it for a few days and it's fine now. The only downside is that it only makes 2 pounds at a time. You have to dump the ice out and store it in the freezer in a bag of your choice to stock up on it. It has paid for itself already for we don't have to buy ice daily to keep the beer cooler stocked. It's a handy size and sits on a TV tray in the kitchen where we can monitor it.
Makes ice quickly.
November 3, 2017
Good product, but the ice isn't as hard frozen as I'd prefer. It always feels slightly "thawing." But, works fast and in a camper it's sure easier/cheaper than having to search out bagged ice all the time.
Very good ice maker
September 21, 2017
Very good ice maker. The ice melts very fast if the beverage isn't ice cold which is why I took off one star. In addition, the ice stops producing before the bin is full if the ice doesn't fall far enough from the top. Overall, I'm glad I finally have ice in the house without having to purchase it from the store. I put the ice in freezer bags to save for later.
Works as advertised
August 14, 2017
We have had 2 others before, 1st one lasted 18 months, 2nd one almost 12 months before it quit as wellWe make about a gallon's worth of ice every day , with distilled water. Both them were purchased at a local Big Box store. This is completely different from what I had gotten before. We have only been using it for about 2 weeks so far.Set up and use, seems to be well thought out and constructedIt's quicker, quieter and makes bigger ice on the small setting than the last one's.......... even when they were new.Hopefully it last longer than the last two.
This worked well, but it made ice way too ...
July 12, 2017
This worked well, but it made ice way too slow for what I was expecting. If you're not in a hurry or need a lot of ice at a time this is a gem. However, I think I needed more industrial strength.
Does the job quite well
June 7, 2016
We really enjoy this icemaker. It akes ice rapidly. We can keep our cooler iced down and have ice for drinks while we are camping. Just pour bottled water in, it makes a decent size tray of ice in about 6 mins. As ice melts it trickles back into the reservoir and recycles the water. Only reason not 5 stars is that it is a little pricey.

I'm super disappointed with this product
August 30, 2017
I'm super disappointed with this product. At first I loved it and just after 7 months of purchase, the machine completely failed on me. Stayed stuck on "ice full". Called the warranty line and in order to replace it, they want me to pay to ship the defective machine plus an $7.00. I'm so mad about this. Poor customer service, why should I be responsible to replace a product that have failed on me in less than a year. Super disappointed that Amazon sells this! I do not recommend it at all!
Great, BUT stopped working after 4 months
August 8, 2017
Product worked beautifully in the office for 4 months, and then stopped working completely. I plan to send back in for a replacement. If the product could work for the long run, it then deserves 5 stars. As the product only worked for a short time frame, it can only have 3 max stars.
The ice tray isn't that big and the rate of product is fine for a small family during the summer
July 27, 2017
Not much to say about these ice makers. There must be a factory in China that spits these things out as a contract manufacturer as you see the exact same model under a dozen labels. The ice tray isn't that big and the rate of product is fine for a small family during the summer. It can't keep up for use at a party, think of it as an automated ice tray. I have had a few, they last 3 or 4 years. Cheap enough to replace but not a model of design or durability.
Unit is average at best.
May 13, 2017
this unit functions OK. the amount of time noted in the manual for its production of ice is not accurate, but it does make plenty of ice. you do have to watch the tray which holds the ice too. It will tell you it is full but the manner which the ice fills the treay is the issue. The tray will not be full, but the back edge of the tray will have ice blocking a sensor. It will not produce ice while this alarm is on and the ice will begin to melt.
Meh
April 16, 2017
I have to admit there isn't much difference in the size options, and the only real drag is that you have to put the ice into the freezer or it melts too quickly. The issue with that is, it's already started to melt, so you'll need an ice pick because the ice freezes together. It gets the job done, and probably is great for traveling but we hardly use it because it's just easier to buy a bag of ice.
It makes ice... sometimes.
March 24, 2017
This is the third one of these I've purchased in four years, so I anticipate that it will last for about a year. This one worked out of the box, but the automation got a little confused and it would indicate a full hopper and stop making ice when the hopper was not full. Turning it off, then on again, would fix it for awhile, then it would start doing it again. I picked it up and dropped it from about four inches on to the counter top, and that fixed the problem. Now it indicates that it is out of water when it's not. Still working on that one.

Good ice, bad product.
March 26, 2017
It made ice beautifully but didn't last long. After ten months it cracked where the water is that the paddles dip into to make ice so the cube were tiny little thin ones. I wouldn't buy it again.
Lasted less than a year
January 22, 2017
Bought this February 2016 and it worked great until a couple of weeks ago. It started making a lot of noise intermittently when it turned on a couple of months ago, but kept cranking out ice. It completely stopped working about a week ago. The power light turns on, but no ice is produced. The fan won't even spin. I'm really disappointed it quit working after such a short amount of time. I expect an appliance like this to last a couple of years at least.

January 21, 2017
I had NO PROBLEMS with the seller of this product. The issue was that it only lasted two months and the water pump went out. The sellers were VERY COURTEOUS and refunded my purchase price. I went to the next larger size as this one seemed to have some bad reviews and the larger one works less because it makes more ice at each fill up so I am hoping it will last longer. I bought an extended warranty on the larger one TO BE ON THE SAFE SIDE. I use mine daily as my fridge doesn't have an ice maker PLUS I TRIPLE FILTER MY WATER before putting it in the machine.(Reverse Osmosis, Brita Filter Pitcher then thru the ZERO Filter Pitcher. I am a bit OCD when it comes to using water not knowing what may have been used to CLEAN IT before it got to me. Plus the extra filtration helps keep the little filter in the icemaker clean, too. I clean my icemaker every 2-3 weeks and it does save on the life of one that is used more than just on occasion.
Loud, but makes ice quickly
January 13, 2017
This is a good looking machine and appears to be well built. When i unboxed. I cleaned the inside and ice tray, added water and within about 10 minutes it was making ice and cubes were dropping every couple minutes after that. Now, the reason i rated as only 3 stars is because the machine is very loud. Not deafening, but very noticible where i can here it from the next room over. I do like the cylinder cubes it makes, but i think this will be one of those things ill probably only used every once in a while when my ice demand is high for parties and things like that.

Chugs along and makes ice, but it's very noisy. When it's low on water, it sounds like it's straining. I like the Danby at work better. Ice is about the same, but it's not nearly as noisy and when it's low on water, it just beeps. I went with this one for the stainless steel finish, but next time I'll get a Danby.

I want my money back!
October 4, 2017
Definitely not built to last. Considering this has an evaporative cooler like a refrigerator or air-conditioner, which are permanently sealed from the atmosphere with no possibility of leakage or contamination, this thing should last a very long time. However, the manufacturer seems to have used so many other cheep throw-a-way components (such as for the control mechanism) that this unit is likely to be taking up space in the land fill way ahead of it's time. Mine has not been shutting off when then ice basket is full since it was new, and more recently it only produced tiny little beads instead of ice cubes, hence useless.Hello Global Corporations - if you want to do the so called "sustainability" thing, built it to last!

July 26, 2017
thought this would be really nice. It does make ice really fast. The problem is the ice is not froze hard so when you transfer it to the freezer it freezes in one big block that you literally need a hammer to break apart. Very disappointing.
Ice is too wet
June 30, 2017
ice is very wet and when you put it in freezer it becomes a large blob, not sure how to fix this. I tried wiping bottom of ice basket with a paper towel and shaking ice basket to remove as much water as possible. Its okay for a cooler but not much good for iced tea! Would not recommend
Poor sensor design issue, now it is just a hassle to use.
January 4, 2017
I have the red model made by Igloo, it lasted for 3-4 months before the "ice full" sensor started acting up, I thought it was just buildup of mineral deposits over the sensors, but it looks like the sensor is just poorly designed, now in order for it to make ice, I have to put a straw over or under the sensor to reflect the signal to receiving sensor.
Great ice for only three months
September 6, 2016
This ice maker produces ice within minutes of being set-up. It makes ice fairly steadily as long as you empty the basket every couple of hours. If you do not empty the basket, the ice will backup and trip the "ICE FULL" switch. At that point, the machine will stop producing ice and the ice in the basket will melt back into the water bin. You cannot use this machine overnight and expect quality ice to be in the basket in the morning. I was very pleased with the machine, even with the limitations... until it stopped working... after only three months of part-time work on our kitchen counter.
Jacked up Warranty Policy
July 30, 2016
I loved this ice maker at first. It worked great for 6 months - had no complaints. Then after 7 months the sensor stopped working which stopped the machine from making more ice. I called the Warranty Company and they said will fix/replace if I would send the ice maker to them ON MY OWN DIME!!!! Are they kidding me? What's the point of a warranty if I have to pay anything at all? This ice maker might be compact, but it is heavy which means it costs quite a bit to ship. Two thumbs all the way down on their warranty policy. My advice... purchase an amazon warranty with it. Now I wish I did. :(

Bought this 5 months ago. Worked great until yesterday when I noticed the bin that holds the water is stuck in the back position and won’t come forward on its own so all the water just runs down into the water tank. Can no longer use after only having it for 5 months.
Dont do it.....

worked great for 3 months then started to make very, very loud noises. Customer service through the company was a joke. would cost $70 to send back for them to repair. Dosent sound like a warranty to me. bought the 2 year extended through amazon, but that only kicks in after the one year of factory warranty. Don't buy this product unless you want to be upset talking with customer NON-service.And yes, We waited 24 hours before we started our machine....we tried to do everything right but these machines just don't last.
Very bad quality...

While this ice maker does make ice very quickly, it also has a terrible sensor that constantly stays lit up even after you empty out the ice bin. It's so bad that it even stays lit up when you unplug and re plug the unit power plug back in. Basically power cycling does not always fix the issue. I have had this issue pretty much immediately since day 2ish of buying this ice maker. I did not return this immediately because I clear out the ice bucket every few hours anyways and didn't mind unplugging the unit for a minute or so to provide a power cycle and this was working fine for me. Now the indicator is starting to stay lit up even though the ice bucket is empty. I will now have to rma the product to the manufacturer per the warranty since I am outside the return window for Amazon. If I didn't basically absolutely need an ice maker I would not even bother but I really do need it for health reasons.
Worked for a month
August 17, 2017
The unit worked great for a one month and I would have given it a five star rating. Then the pump started howling when it started making a fresh batch of ice even when full of water. It's still making ice but you know it's just a matter of time and this thing will break or I'll shut it off because I can't stand the noise.
Broke after second use
July 2, 2017
Worked fine the first time but it makes very tiny batches, like less than one drink's worth. You need to run it for several hours to get a good amount. Also, the third time using it, it makes one tiny batch and the "add water" red light goes on after every batch so it has to be turned off and on again every 10 minutes even though the water reservoir is full. Huge waste of money.

Not recommended if you need water converted to ice
September 11, 2017
This ice machine lasted exactly 2 months, if you need one to work longer than that I recommend looking elsewhere. Worked great the first month, then the mechanism that pushes the ice out after it is frozen completely stopped moving - you could kind of push the mechanism back into place and it would work consistently for about 4-5 hours, then stop again. At this time, not even that little nudge does anything.

I ordered this for my trailer, and didn't open the box for 7 weeks, thereby beyond the 30 day return policy. It didn't work out of the box. When I called the warranty department, they gave me instructions to reset it. I did it multiple times and it didn't work. There's only one place to get it repaired, and I have to foot the bill for shipping, which is almost as much as what I paid for unit. I may try to fix it myself by reading up on the internet, otherwise I'll just dump it in the trash and buy bags of ice for my trailer.
This should last longer than 4 months!

I bought this for my parents for Christmas for their travel trailer. They opened it and made ice and loved it. It is now April and they've just taken their first camping trip and it's already not working!! I called the company on the warranty, only to find out you have to pay the shipping back yourself plus a $7 insurance charge for them to send you a new one. Well, to send the ice maker back was nearly $60 in shipping charges! Never, ever, buy from this company again!
37 day wonder.
March 29, 2017
It worked great for 37 days. I filled it with water every morning and it made ice every day. At the end of the day I would turn it off. On day 38 it stopped working.
Igloo is a horrible company!

Unboxed, set it up, waited for 2 hours as recommended and within a few minutes we had ice! I used this for 2 straight nights and it works amazing. Funny thing is it became the talk of the party. Everyone enjoyed the fresh ice to cool off their drinks. This works wonderful and was worth every penny I paid for it.Update: It's been 2 months now and it still works like a champ. Our friends come over on weekends and this thing gets a work out with all the mixed drinks we're making. The ice tray is almost always full and everyone loves having fresh ice. I highly recommend buying one of these.Update 2: The machine flat out died. It gave an "Add Water" warning even though the machine was full of water. I cleaned it out but nothing. It would cycle, pretend to make ice and then error out again. Here's where I got mad. It was still under the 90 Igloo warranty so I called them.Igloo informed me that even though it has their name on it, they don't make it and they would not honor the warranty. Click, they hung up on me. So,Igloo just lost me as a customer for life and I plan on making it know to everyone how horrible their customer support is.Thankfully, I purchased the extended warranty through canopy and they were really awesome. They e-mailed me a shipping label within minutes for a full refund. So, lesson learned, never trust Igloo but by the extended warranty.

It worked well, and quickly right out of the box but with in a month the fill reservoir light came on and stayed on even though the reservoir was full of water. Tried to find a solution but nothing worked, not even a special reset code I found on the web. I am now beyond the one month time frame to return product to seller and have found no local area to service this item. Will try my luck with a different product line next time.

Worked great for about 3weeks
March 12, 2017
Worked great for about 3weeks. Now all it produces is large blocks of ice with 9x holes in the top. 😒 Switched to small setting thinking it would kick them out sooner before BLOCK was formed. Nope. Pics are from the SMALL setting. I will try to return.
Worthless warranty. Deceptive business practices
January 26, 2017
I purchased this for my fiancèe's birthday and she loved it. Exactly what she wanted. It ran without problems for about 11 1/2 months. It died and called the troubleshooting/warranty line and they where quite nice and helpful doing the troubleshooting. Once they said the unit died their accents grew much thicker. I was disconnected several times towards the end of the conversation. They wanted me to ship the unit back to them with a special warranty ($150+ for USPS) and then pay then even more for an additional Warranty in case it was broken. I told them it was already broken and they kept asking me how I broke it. I said I didn't do anything, it just stopped working, why would I be sending it back for warranty replacement if it wasn't broken? Finally I was told that the warranty didn't cover broken appliances, only working ones??? Why would I want to replace a working icemaker?

Died after less than 3 months. Called the company, they wanted me to pay to ship it to them (it's heavy), then pay $25 to fix it. Not acceptable for the time period. This is the second one I have tried...both died, although the first, cheaper one, lasted longer. Rather than pay to ship it and fix it...I threw it in the trash. Won't be purchasing another one.
Lasted One Month
December 16, 2016
We bought the unit on-line through Amazon, and it worked for a month. Then it stopped making ice and in fact heated the water. I called customer support, and it put me through a reset process. That also did not work so I called customer support again. This time they described a return process that was so elaborate that it was clearly designed to discourage me from using the warranty. I had to box it and pay for shipping myself plus pass a $7 "insurance fee" to Curtis. What a disappointment! I would not recommend this unit nor this company to anyone.

Didn't even last a month. Last one gave out after 8 months. Spend your money elsewhere.
