These notebooks are perfect for my old school approach to poetry, fiction, journals, vocabulary, etc. They stack nicely, making it easy to keep my stuff organized. The paper smells good, too. When necessary, pages rip out easily without disturbing the rest of the book. Awesome PricingMarch 5, 2014 I went to buy these at the store and was a little surprised at the cost and since I needed one for each class I was teaching this ended up being a terrific deal. Mead composition books are very durable and sturdy. The pages are not easy to rip out and they don't become crushed as easily as the softer notebooks do. I know these are mostly used for children but I find them quite useful for carrying around and logging my ideas done so I don't forget them later (yes a big old notebook of wide paper used for elementary students is what I used as a grad student to keep track of ideas for potential research!). SUPER BUY, GLAD TO SEE IT OFFERED AGAINSeptember 6, 2013 I have bought this offer in the past, this price is a great value and hope Amazon continues this bargain on a yearly basis. I use about that many in a year to take notes or quotes on the phone, or to jot something down I need to purchase or something I forgot to do. So it keeps all this data in one place, and these are a lot harder to misplace than a piece of paper. When finished I mark the year and the dates, and file them for a year then they go in a box for the commercial shredder.These for the most part are the same thing I used in school years ago. The nice thing is they come in a package from the manufacturing facility so they are sealed and as I am in the middle of one now they will remain in the carton taking up little space and remaining fresh. So be it for the students or anyone else in your home or office a great quality product, that is a being sold at a bargain basement price. | | | | |

| If you are looking for hardcover, this isn't itSeptember 29, 2017 I bought this thinking it was the composition book with the cardboard hard cover. Turns out they don't make those any more. It is a very flimsy notebook, which I HATE but it works as a notebook. Flimsy notebooks damage easier so don't write anything important in here because you will lose it eventually. Thin flexing carboard cover - not stiff cover.January 6, 2017 Much thinner cover than the versions typically found in supply stores. Might not hold up to significant use. These seem more like a version of test composition books except they have many pages. If you like Lab Books, you will like these!March 11, 2016 I use these for notes in class. They are pretty good. The product description says they have hard covers, but they are actually fairly flexible, identical to one that I was able to buy locally. I've bought the Penway version of these notebooks for years, and they have nice solid covers, but I haven't been able to find them anywhere. I use these a lot for work. They aren't as well made as I remember. Pages in the beginning of the book are already ripping away from the binding. My cost was about $1.50 per book, so for that money, I'm still relatively happy with the purchase. Changed hard cover to soft coverOctober 16, 2014 Mead must have changed their Composition books recently because this year the covers are not the thick, stiff paper board, but instead filmsy card stock paper. In my latest order, the covers are thinner and very flexible, which makes them no different than the cheapest ones sold in stores. Very disappointed. Be carefulJanuary 24, 2014 On the system when you order, it says 5 pack : style : college ruled. That my dear friends is a lie, what I got was wide ruled. The funny thing is that the system only allowed college ruled to be sold in five or one packs. While wide ruled is sold in one or twelve packs. Well ladies and gentlemen, I got wide ruled in a five pack. Very depressing, but I'll live with it seemingly.Sowing and construction is nice however, just hated the fact of being ripped off on what I ordered, hence this 2.25 score.Thank you and be careful. The cover is basically the weight of two pieces of paper and provides no protection or support when writing.
