Good to buy
September 27, 2016
Good and useful desk. My classmate recommends this to me. Quick shipment and easy for one girl to open even I need to use my shoulder when set the height. Large enough for me to put my two laptops or one big laptop and my painting equipments. Not too heavy if you want to bring to other location. Five stars.
LONG-STANDING UNDER HEAVY USE!
September 18, 2016
We ordered 4 of these tables in June for our Farmers Markets. I was thrilled to find foldable, adjustable, and low enough to put coolers on top of them. On the tables we were using, people practically had to stand on tip-toe to look inside the coolers. Using these tables for markets is much harder on them than just putting them in a child's playroom--lots of set-up, heavy weight of the ice chests on top of them, toting back and forth, etc. But 3.5 months later and they are still going strong. They have a carry strap --easier for me as a woman--as I can tote one in each hand--which I can't do if I have to carry two in my arms. I will also say that while we do put table cloths on them for the markets, the surface has proven to be less scratch resistant than other tables we have used as well. Last note: Delivery was super fast. I could hardly believe it. Highly recommend this product.
Don't buy it!

Retracted my 1 star as amazon sent me a new table and returning it back wasn't difficult. I just left the damaged table on the porch and ups picked it up. No costs! Perhaps 4 stars are the best but i am not a strict consumer so 5 stars provided.Original review - I have been faithful amazon customer. This is the first time i have been disappointed big time! My table is defective on the first go. Two of the metal bolts on two legs (on same side) didn't pop out and click. Now, i don't know what to do with this worthless junk? If i place anything, the two legs might slide and become shorter.Returning it would cost me a good transport charge i guess. I cannot afford to order new one. Thoroughly disappointed student :(. Not changing my review unless they send me a new working table without any hesitation. Thanks, Kedar
Good work table for limited space
August 19, 2015
I have a smallish room for multiple activities - home office; sewing; crafts; and sometimes it also needs to be a bedroom for visitors. I bought this table for crafting projects. I like it because:1. The size (4 feet) doesn't take up too much space, but it's big enough to be usable.2. It's reasonably stable - yes, there's a slight wobble if you try to make it wobble, but I won't be doing anything that requires a rock-solid surface.3. It can easily be folded up and stored when I want to change the room into a bedroom.4. Best of all, the leg braces are designed in such a way that I can put plastic drawer units under it. I have two units from the craft store under it. One is 15"w x 15"d x 23.5" high. The other is 12"w x 15"d x 24" high. No drawers are blocked by the braces. There is enough space between the two units that I can roll my desk chair up to it and work in perfect comfort. (See my photos.)5. I was very happy to see that the legs are gray, not chrome, since my drawer units are gray.I have two other (smaller) tables made by this company, and I like their quality. Very satisfied!
Best table ever

Best crafting/show table ever. Height adjustable and folds in half for transport. I bought 2. I love them. I will buy 2 more unless you all beat me to them.
These are awesome. Easy to carry

These are awesome. Easy to carry, easy to fold, easy to store and fits in a small car easily for transport. I love that i can use the table at multiple heights. I bought two and use them to support a GCC Expert 24 cutter.

Perfect sewing table.
September 5, 2016
I really like this table! I needed something to set my sewing machine on in my small 1 bedroom apartment. This is the perfect size for a corner of my bedroom. My 3 drawer wheeled cart with all my sewing utensils fits right underneath the table when it is in the middle position and that is a perfect height for sewing. The table is sturdy & doesn't wobble or creak when I sew. This will also work very well for when I have company and need a dining table. The only drawback with this table is that it is impossible for one person to adjust the leg height alone. I live by myself, so had to ask a neighbor in my apartment building to help me, which could be a hassle. Otherwise, it is a fine table of good quality. I really like the non-skid surface, too.
Basic and reasonably stable
August 5, 2016
This table arrived today and it was what I expected since I had seen it before at a friend's home used as an extra table for the kids. It is 4'x 2', adjustable heights are 24", 29", 36" as described. I took away a star because there is a small dent in the middle of the table where it folds in half. This is a little strange since it came in a new unopened undamaged box. It doesn't bother me enough to return it though.
Genius/Idiot
May 18, 2016
I bought this as a laundry helper - folding clothes and such. Had a hard time opening this table. Zero information in box ? WTH? Got out a flashlight looking through the opening trying to figure out what has the table closed so tight and how do you open it. Finally just said to heck with it and got a large flathead screwdriver and popped it open. Lo & Behold a metal rod clip. A very seriously strong metal rod/tube clip. You could have made the picture of the table on the box half the size and put a piece of paper, ANYTHING, to tell me how and what was keeping the table closed !! Anyway, table is open and perfect for the job. I am not sure if I should feel like a genius or an idiot right now.
The Good - The Bad and Workaround Tricks
January 31, 2016
I'm reviewing Lifetime Table 4428 with the folding table top.Pros:This table has 4 features that are hard to find in one table: a folding table top, 36" height, small footprint for storage and a decent price.Good height as an outfeed table for my 7491RS table saw.Highest height 36" is perfect for projects where you want to stand.Folds up for storage.Carrying strap. Not too heavy for short distance carrying for a 62 yr. old male. This is a great table for a 'weekend woodworker' who needs to store everything away at the end of the project so his car will fit in the garage again!Cons:Only 24" wide.Surface has a slight texture but writing with a gel pen and paper are no problem. Not contractor quality nor durability but good for many home uses. Not for heavy items like engines. Not a sturdy workbench. Not easy to open for a weak/elderly person.Tricky to open and close but this technique should help:Pull it out of the box, stand it on end and place the hinge side on the floor.Use a large screwdriver to pry open the end opposite the hinge. Reason being the plastic clip holding it closed is very tight until it wears a little.Once opened, tip the table on its side edge and extend the table top and legs until they lock.Look for one red plastic clip under the table surface near the hinges. Press it to lock the table top open. Now stand the table on its legs. It will be real low.To raise the table you need 3 arms, 2 people or this trick:Put your foot on the cross bar that connects 2 legs to each other.Press in on the 2 silver pins that pop out of the side of the legs and at the same time push down with your foot while lifting with your hands. The table will rise one level.Do the same thing to the other end of the table.Repeat the process until you achieve the desired height. There are 3 ht. settings.====================Another con: The table wobbles side to side at the highest setting but I have a simple cure to make it sturdy:Buy a cheap 2x2 stick of lumber for a couple bucks. Actual dimensions: 1.5"x1.5"x4ft.Cut a notch in the center of each end of the stick to these dimensions: 1" deep by 1" wide. I used a scroll saw. With the table at its highest setting, pressure fit diagonally the notches between the 2 cross bars at ground level. Then slide/center the stick perpendicular to the cross bars. No screws or bolts needed. The stick will force the legs apart and reduce the wobbling. If you are unable to cut notches in the stick you might get by just using a 47" stick. See photo of notched stick.
Does what I needed it to
September 16, 2015
Agreed with other reviewers that it is a little awkward to adjust the legs by yourself, though I just flipped it so the top was on the floor which made it marginally easier. If you have two people it's really easy to adjust the legs. I haven't put it up to top height yet because I don't have any reason to. Bought this to replace a 6' plastic table that we were using as a craft table - when we rearranged the room, 6' was too long and blocked the door. This is a good middle ground and provides enough space to hold some junk and a sewing machine. Does rise slightly in the center but that seems to be a typical fault in this type of table. Much heavier than expected and slightly difficult to get it into my apartment because of the size/shape of the box; once out of the box it's much easier to move around since there's a handle and other places you can get a solid grip on it. One of the nicest features for us is the leg shape - our previous table had cross-supports under the table which made it sturdy enough to hold 500lbs but meant I couldn't push things under it very well. This one isn't going to hold the weight of two adults, but I can put a rolling cart and a cat litter box under there and still have room to sit and sew.
Nice table, lost a star for difficulty of adjusting leg height
May 3, 2015
Bought this table for my 6-year old twins to use as a computer desk. The adjustable height was a selling point. As they grow up, I shouldn't have to buy another table for a long time (hopefully). It's not going to have a lot of weight on it, and it seems quite sturdy.I dropped 1 star because of the awkwardness of raising and lowering the height. It really needs 3 hands to adjust each leg. For our use, it's not that big a deal, but if we were using it as a picnic table or something, it would get annoying really fast. You have to drop the height to the lowest setting for it to fold up cleanly. The integrated carry handle is really nice.

Has worked fine for about 9-10 months since purchase
March 29, 2017
Has worked fine for about 9-10 months since purchase, with once a week use for laundry. However: to extend the legs to full height either takes 2 people or serious body contortions (I'm not exaggerating) because both pins on the legs have to be pushed in as the legs are extended or contracted (ie, you either need 3 hands or you pull/push with your chin, foot, or leg). Obviously not an issue if you'll always leave the table at the same height or have two people to adjust it ... but its rating gets knocked down anyway because we're talking about a simple table, not advanced technology. Another minor ding: even when the two leaves of the table are "locked" together into a single flat surface they'll sometimes separate into two slightly tilted surfaces (pivoting at the center hinge) when the table is moved, making it just a little unstable in these situations.
I think I will really like this table
August 18, 2016
I think I will really like this table...when I figure out how to open it. There are no instructions, and I'm reluctant to force the mechanism. The picture on the box shows a carrying handle.Maybe it's inside the folded table. Lifetime.com never heard of this model. I will continue to dink around the site to find some useful information so I can set it up. Eventually some family member or friend will help.I already own a 2x4 ft Lifetime table that doesn't fold in half. It was easy to figure out without help.
It sets up easily and seems sturdy and level
August 27, 2015
It sets up easily and seems sturdy and level. It's not hard to adjust the height, even alone, and it appears that there are actually four height settings, not three as listed. It's a good table, although I think I would have preferred it if it were solid white and not speckled.Edit (9/2/15):I'm changing my opinion now on this table. I've gotten a large computer monitor that I put on top, and typing or using the mouse caused the entire thing to wobble. I've checked and found that it's not the fault of the monitor, so I've come to the conclusion that this table is not as sturdy as I thought. I'm considering looking into returns, but if someone has an idea on how to fix this, please share.
Average Review for an average product
August 26, 2015
The "locking mechanism" holding the two halves of the table together in the center is VERY flimsy. This means that the table tends to pop up in the middle after set-up. Moving heavier items to the center and lighter items to the sides helped get me through my art show. Before the next show I'll want to install some sort of latch or lock from the hardware store. Aside from that little design flaw, the table isn't very sturdy in general. I do not recommend buying this to hold heavier items such as warming trays/large drink dispensers or ham radio equipment. I bought two of these tables; one was much sturdier than the other so there are obviously variations in quality control. Someone else may have a different experience.Still, it does fold up and has a handle for easier transport. And it's actually pretty good for the price point (depending on how much I have to spend on hardware to hold the two halves of the table top together!).
Great if you have a third hand
July 20, 2015
This had to be one of the worst tables I have ever had to set up. To raise the table you must simultaneously press and hold a button on each leg with each of your hands and then pull the table up with your third hand. If you dont have a third hand then you are sh*t out of luck and you have to keep the table at toddler height. If you do have a third hand then you can easily raise the table to the fully extended wobbly height. Other than that the table surface is nice.Update: Im adding 2 more stars. Ive now gotten better at pulling up the legs by myself (although it is still very difficult and frustrating) I just do it very slowly as to not get mad, but the table wobbles at its fullest height. Decided to keep because the price cant be beat.
A little less sturdy than I was hoping for
March 19, 2014
It's a great little table. I appreciate the height adjustment and the compact portability. Unfortunately it has a little more wiggle than I'm comfortable with. I was pairing it with a bar height dining table to seat and extra 3 people. In that capacity with glassware and breakable dishes upon it, just makes nervous. If it were braced against a wall, or housed plastic ware, I'm sure I wouldn't be quite as concerned. I'll be returning this particular table and opting for the Lifetime 80161 model. Though it doesn't fold, it too is height adjustable, but features a different leg/base design that I hope is sturdier.PS...the best way to adjust the height of the table by yourself, is to lay it on it's side. You can manage the buttons with your hands, and gently nudge the legs (one at a time of course) with your foot.

Not very sturdy. Drat.
April 20, 2017
Well, the table I received arrived broken. But that was actually okay since it is very wobbly and not nearly strong enough. Amazon was very kind to issue a full refund without any hassles at all. Can't recommend the table but Amazon is terrific!
Uneven and wobbly.
May 5, 2016
Good points: Table folds in half with the legs inside and a canvas handle makes it as easy to carry as a briefcase, albeit a heavy one. Height adjustment is useful. However the one I received did not have a flat surface when set up, it was high in the middle where the hinge is. The parts didn't fit right. Also it was wobbly enough that I didn't trust it to hold items of any value. Small folding tables will never be perfectly stable, but this was bad even for the type. I returned it the next day.Either I got a lemon or this doesn't deserve the 4.5 star average rating it currently has.
Came damaged...
December 30, 2015
Came in the mail with an opened box and damaged. Clasp is missing underneath so when the table is upright, it slightly arches. Also covered in hair. I wiped it down with a clorox rag... gross.Other than that, the adjustable height is perfect...
I liked that it can be folded but there is not ...
July 28, 2015
This table looks good, but is not what I expected. I have borough for party same size table from my daughter, but hers is much stronger they paid same price and it locks well. My after opened if you pull it, it goes out of shape bump in the middle like it could close not secure and weak. Also to change the setting to lower or higher you need 2 people very inconvenient, many time if you are preparing to use if you are alone is a big task, I did by myself by trying to push up with my knee, not easy to do that.
Not as Described
October 11, 2014
First the pro: sturdy when set up. Cons: Has a carry strap but the table halves do not lock together so unable to carry without the unit popping open. Locking mechanism on hinge only locks on one side so if you try to pick up the table after set up, it will buckle in the middle. One side of table top is not smooth. Looks like something hot was placed on it and melted the plastic top. Lastly, it appears that the one I got was a "return" although it was sold as new. Not the first time this has happend to me with Amazon. It is too difficult and costly to return so I will just keep it or donate to Goodwill.
the price is right......
February 18, 2014
...... and the height is right, its portability is right, its not too heavy, its nice and compact when folded up, and it seems to be made of durable material. But, it is tricky for one person to set up and it wobbles back and forth, about 2 inches each way, from end-to-end, and unless you have something of substantial weight sitting on the fold in the middle of the table, it tends to like to pop up in the middle. If all that works for you, you're good. Because of its height, it did save my back on a project, so I'm keeping it, but I don't like it.

This makes it all too easy for it to fold up into itself
November 12, 2017
Very unstable laterally. In addition, mine might have shipped without an additional piece. In the folding part (center), one side has a red clip which locks it in place. There is a space for a similar one on the other side, but mine has none. This makes it all too easy for it to fold up into itself. Very annoying.

I received it last month but didn't get to use it until yesterday. It's very unstable when used at its highest option. That's the only reason why I bought it because I'm 6 foot 1 and I needed a tall table. Not stable at all to me!

Not impressed with this table. Too flimsy.
You need three hands...
October 28, 2016
Seriously though, who designed this? Let me explain my frustration... To setup this table you must use your left and right hand to hold in the little pins on each leg. Then, with your THIRD HAND (maybe this table requires evolution to kick-in before it becomes practical) you have to push up the middle up to extend the leg. Also, don't use this at the beach, sand clogged up the "leg holes" within a few uses.
