Wire broken after 6 months of normal use (Problem solved: Vendor fixed the problem quickly)
October 17, 2016
I bought this desk in April, 2016. I put my monitor and laptop on it. It has been working fine. I leveled it up and down for about 2 times a day.Last night, when I was leveling it up, I suddenly heard a "BUM!" sound. It sounded like something was broken, and I wasn't able to level the tabletop up with the handle anymore. I looked at the bottom of the table and found that the metal wire for lifting the table was broken (see photos).I don't think the stuffs (a laptop and a monitor) I put on the table are too heavy and I have been gentle when lifting the table with the handle provided. I wouldn't expect that this table could only last for just 6 months given I spent hundreds of dollar on it. The metal wire seems to be too weak or defective for the lifting purpose. It's lucky that I didn't hurt myself when the wire was broken. The table is heavy and I could have seriously hurt my fingers when the wire was broken and the table collapsed.Latest Update (Dec 2, 2016): The vendor is responsive and I am working with him on the problem. He's sending me a new wire to see if I can replace the broken one and fix the problem. If it doesn't work, I will get a table for replacement. So I change my rating from 1 star to 3 star for now, to be fair.
Sturdy gem of a table for a standing desk
July 19, 2016
After injuring my back, I was told to not sit, either stand or be prone. Started searching for a standing desk alternative that was not overpriced. What is the deal with these stand alone desks that rise up being so ridiculously expensive? Decided before spending a ton of money would try this. What a gem. Completely sturdy, does not wiggle at all. The turn crank is only on the right side, not two places as stated. It still works for me, so not returning it or complaining. Cranks up or down smoothly. Do wish there was a pine or honey colored option instead of the really light faux wood grain. Could have ordered the cherry, but would clash with my pine. Very happy with the table, size and operation. Who knew hurting my back would open me up to standing at my desk. Will never go back to sitting.
Everything I wanted and more!
March 22, 2016
I love this desktop height adapter! I am a graphic designer and I have been looking everywhere for an affordable way to raise/lower my two monitors, keyboard and digital tablet/pad all at one time. It raises and lowers very easily with the removable crank and when in the lower position it's almost like a regular desk and I hardly notice it's there. I love the size--I can lower everything mentioned above, and I still have room for my cup of coffee, stereo speakers and a small work area.Truly a perfect fit for ALL my needs and more! I couldn't be happier with this product! Wow--I wished I ordered this ages ago!
Overall this is a great, affordable solution to an otherwise very pricey problem with office furniture
February 2, 2016
I reviewed this earlier after running into some trouble that many others seemed to have experienced with a faulty first-shipment, but just like all those reviewers I contacted the seller through amazon and they were prompt in getting back to me, apologetic about the defective first one and quickly replaced it. The second one arrived in just a couple of days and it works perfectly. I took me a while to get it set up where I want to use it, and i have finally been able to do so, with no problems. I love being able to approach my limited work space at standing height, and just walk up and start working. In the afternoons, if my feet or legs get a little fatigued, down it goes with just a little bit of hand-cranking, and I'm sitting comfortably. The crank works well, and can be stored within reach, I like that the crank can be used on either side with this model. I am thinking about getting the cherry finish one as well for another situation I'd like to solve the same way.And the PRICE CANNOT BE BEAT FOR THE FUNCTION. Look at the 800 - 2000 dollar office-product tables, this does exactly the same function for under 300. Go figure! So it took a little extra to get it right, and now it's right. I'm happy with it.
I really love this desk
December 9, 2015
I really love this desk. It was the perfect solution for me, without spending a ton of money. It adjusts up and down smoothly and easily, and I like that it goes fully down, so its like a normal desk when I'm sitting. All other desk-top options seem to be way smaller (just bigger than a laptop), whereas this one is a full desk, so my coffee and papers and everything go up and down with me. The desk surface itself is not super high-quality, its just laminate, and the plastic cover/inserts where the adjustable handle goes need to be re-glued in place (they're just cosmetic). But the mechanics themselves are sound, and the desk is very strong and stable and doesn't slide around on the regular desk underneath. Of course a full sit/stand desk would be ideal, but at least several times of the price of this one. This desk is exactly what I was hoping it would be, and allows me to switch between sitting and standing throughout the day, without repositioning anything else, aside from pulling my chair out. Definitely recommended!
Perfect for home office.
October 26, 2015
This is very sturdy and easy to use - exactly what I was looking for. I set it on top of a cheap ikea table of exactly the same size. The ikea table is a little wobbly when I crank to raise this product, but I place one hand on the ikea table to steady it for the first 1 to 2 inches of raising. This top doesn't slip or move at all when raising. It arrived with a small chip in the underside of the top that is not noticeable, but no rust or defects.

Consider where you want to put it very carefully for size, weight, and difficulty to move issues, but works great!
March 11, 2017
It went together easily and works great. I have severe arthritic pain in my neck, am a voracious reader, and tipping my head down to read is a real pain; no pun intended. A few cranks, along with an upright book holder, have completely made it possible to read for long periods of time. I would like it significantly better if it truly was a mini version, maybe a 2' length. It would would get 5 stars if it were not so very heavy, huge, and difficult to move.
This is perfect for everything it is advertised to be
October 6, 2016
I spent almost an entire day searching Amazon and the rest of the web to find a product that would free me from sitting and bring my dual monitors with me without forcing me on my feet for 12 hour days in the construction job trailer that would give me some actual desk space unlike outrageously priced Veridesk and similar product. This is perfect for everything it is advertised to be! I was very pleasantly surprised to see just how sturdy this product really is when fully extended so A+ for that. However I am very picky about my work area and here are a few cons/suggestions they could improve on their product:1) with the size of my monitors (23" screens) I really need them to be about 6" further back to still have enough space to rest my arms when typing and sitting down. That being said: if there was a model of this that was approx. 6" deeper it would make a world of difference and would allow more space for having phisycal documents and writing on the desk without moving the keyboard aside to take notes etc. Currently when I use2) (this would not be an issue if desk was 6" deeper as mentioned) but due to the shallowness of the desk when I am sitting the corner front edge is supporting my forearms all day and would be way more comfortable if it was a sloped or rounded edge of some sort.
It looks nice (sufficient packaging
April 23, 2016
This table top converted me on standing desks. For adapters (instead of adjustable desks themselves), it was the only one big enough for my computer/laptop and papers (and then some). It takes maybe 10 seconds to crank it up or down, and there is no real strength involved. It looks nice (sufficient packaging: 2 corrugated cardboard boxes, foam, plastic bag, etc.) and feels sturdy. I also like that if the handle is misplaced, the desk can still be used with a regular socket wrench. When it arrived the handle crank didn't fit in. The nut is just a little off center in the hole, and there wasn't enough clearance for the socket head of the handle/wrench. A stronger person was able to slide it in place, so I didn't seek a replacement. I can't tell if the occasional squeak as I crank is related to the handle rubbing against the plastic sheath or the raising/lowering pulleys. While the handle can go in or out now, it does take a little tap to push it all the way in.
I absolutely love this stand up desk
January 21, 2016
I absolutely love this stand up desk. I ordered it for work, everyone else had ordered a Varidesk but I didn't really need my desk to pull forward or have different heights for monitor/keyboard etc. I just wanted a flat surface like my current desk to be lifted. The crank works smoothly and does not make any noise (I was afraid that the crank would be noisy!) and it's plenty large to fit my laptop on a docking station, two monitors, keyboard, and mouse. The crank doesn't really bother me, when I change the height I make sure the crank is facing away from me and it's not in the way.I took away one star because the laminate is not the best, the front panel was loose and so I glued it back on. Also, where the right front foot hides under the desk piece while fully lowered, it rubbed against the inside and would get temporarily stuck underneath during raising/lowering, so I had to shave off a little of the pressed wood to make it work properly. But I can't see where I fixed it so it doesn't bother me.
Happy Now. Was Bummed
October 1, 2015
Original 1-star Review:Bummed. The mechanism arrived with significant rust. The table rocks back and forth because the feet are not straight. The vendor is unresponsive.Updated 4-star Review:The vendor contacted me shortly after posting this review. They took care of the issue.I have been using the table top for over a month and am very happy. It is stable and works great. I would give it 5 stars if is wasn't for the initial issues.
Works great, gentle to the wallet!
June 10, 2015
Sorry for delaying the review due to my intense schedules in the past couple of month! i'm very happy about this table top. It satisfies my need to have a sit-stand desk that can go up and down on the fly, and it's definitely very gentle to my wallet. i felt the need of a sit-stand desk about 8 years ago, but wasn't able to invent a cost effective one since i'm tied to my day job and do not have experience in making things. Since then, checking what's available on the market now and then, and intensively about 2 years ago, trying a work station that doesn't have enough surface space and doesn't rise up high enough, i almost ran out of steam looking for a low cost sit-stand desk...until, i casually discovered this on the first day it was launched! So far, this is the best solution for me both in terms functionality and cost. The only thing one has to be careful about is that the metal frame can be a little harsh to wood surfaces. It made couple of dents on my pine wood table top the first time i opened it. As far as the look is concerned, it's not the best quality look, and in fact has couple of small defects on the edges, almost unnoticeable though. Overall, it works like a charm.

It's a decent product, we just found ourselves not bothering to crank it up... Buyer's remorse, but the product is great.

Need Replacement
March 29, 2016
Really excited to start to use the new desk top but only one side cranked up. Sent message to return but really would like a replacement.
It works, but there is a good chance it will come damaged.
March 2, 2016
It works and it's cheaper than other ones I've seen on Amazon. Also, if everything is in good condition, the setup is much easier than other ones I've seen. I had to buy a ratchet (I knew this going in) because my desk does not have enough room for the crank. For anyone else the socket size you need is a 5/16. This is not wood. It's cheap plastic looking. I might repaint it someday. When I do that I can try to fix the broken right side crank mine came with. I'm attaching a photo of the screw which was disintegrated. This screw held the bolt (that your crank attaches to) to the rest of of the desk. I can still use it, but I just need to use the left side. I'm also adding a photo of the setup. No drilling made this the perfect choice. I took down two stars for quality.
My main complaint is that the materials used for the desk seem to crack easily. The packaging used for shipping was minimal
December 2, 2015
I would say this is a "good enough" standing desk, especially as a starter desk (and for the price). It's simple to assemble and use, and is stable and can support a reasonable amount of desk weight. My main complaint is that the materials used for the desk seem to crack easily. The packaging used for shipping was minimal, causing one of the corners to be cracked around the left jack/receptacle upon delivery. This doesn't seem to impair functioning and is only aesthetic.
Good for the price
November 16, 2015
Good for the price, at about half of other, similar desk-tops. Quality is mediocre as the corner laminate is showing, and was slightly damaged out of the box. It serves its purpose though.

Bad deal. Used almost daily for the last 11 ...
August 15, 2017
Bad deal. Used almost daily for the last 11 months.1) the coloring chips off - "wood"2) the metal feet sagged when I needed to boost this up. Sorry I'm over 5'8"... had to lift it up an inch and it sagged quickly so now it rocks back and forth3) let the record show I RARELY change from high to low... it takes forever so I do it as littel as possible. I did it yesterday and the thing broke.4) so, now the right side goes up and down a few inches while the left side strains and breaks under the pressure of not moving while the other end moves.5) my table is lopsided due to this unfixable situation6) broke in under a year of light use on the winding thing. I deserve a refund or a repair but apparently they don't have any at all.
It worked great for 2 months and then came crashing down
January 16, 2017
It worked great for 2 months and then came crashing down. The metal piece inside the bracket that moves it up and down is broken already. Not very good quality for $200.00
Disappointing and doesn't work the way it should.
June 22, 2016
I've been using the desk for about 4-5 months. After less then one month of use the table wouldn't correctly lower - one side would lower perfectly and the other would partially stay up until you pushed it down, and then it would SLAM down on my work desk that is underneath. We've tried fixing it but it'll just go back to partially staying up a few times after use. Since I don't want to have this desk continually slam onto my work desk (which isn't mine so I really don't want to damage it), I don't lower the desk completely when I sit down and use it slightly slanted. I now really wish I went with a more expensive/higher quality desk which would have been less of a hassle. Disappointing....
but the packaging is pretty minimal and the table material is pretty weak
September 10, 2015
The riser was jammed on one side and would not lift when cranked. The table also arrived with a giant puncture through the top of it. This most likely happened during shipping, but the packaging is pretty minimal and the table material is pretty weak. Obviously, I had to return it.

Attractive and sturdy but non-working
February 21, 2017
Product looks great. BUT, the desk does not function. The electric controls match the 'mini' version of this product and are different from what is described in the operator manual. That would not be a problem except the controls do not work and do not appear to be getting power.
Smashed, dented, and missing the crank piece
January 7, 2017
I shopped around for a while and was very excited about this product. Unfortunately it arrived looking as though it had been through a war zone. Every corner was chipped and smashed, and even the center of the desktop had a dent in it. I wish I could tell you how it functioned, but they did not bother to include the crank piece, so I couldn't even expand it to see if a version of the product that was in good condition would have been worth it. It's quite heavy for one person, so re-packaging and re-mailing this thing is going to take a lot of effort and time on my part. I'm so disappointed.
Started to fall part after 10 days
November 15, 2016
When this first arrived 10 days ago I was over the moon. The tabletop is quite large and easily accomodates my entire work station. Plus I find it very easy to transition from sitting to standing. Unfortunately that is where the good news ends. After only 10 days, it is starting to fall apart at the seam on the left corner. It isn't terrible YET, but based on other people's reviews I anticipate the issue will continue to grow over time.
Fine until it breaks
October 27, 2016
Table top worked great as described for 45 days and then failed. The lifting mechanism on one side broke. Unfortunately it was too late to return to Amazon and the seller is no help at contacting the manufacturer for warranty coverage. Would not recommend.
One is great, and the other is completely defective
September 30, 2016
I ordered 2. One is great, and the other is completely defective. IT doesn't lower, it slams down violently. I love the other one. The defective one has a defective rivet and a loose part that causes this to happen. The customer service from this point will determine how I revise this. I would love to give 5 stars.
Defective Motor
September 16, 2016
Defective product. Electric motor worked for 2 weeks then stopped with desk in the up position. No way to lower. Had to be returned but since stuck in the up position no easy way to package for return. Amazon handling return.
