Fulfilled all my wildest dreams
June 15, 2017
Will be purchasing more of these. I have 2, one for my keys, one to attach my water bottle to my belt loop at work. I will get one for my flashlight for camping, and then I'll have a bottle opener with me at all times. Crucial. This is the best purchase I've made on Amazon to date.
They work great, look nice
September 15, 2016
I've used these for a while not to keep my keys on and clip to the belt loop on my pants. They work great, look nice, and have the added bonus having a bottle opener always on hand. The springy gate clip on my last one broke after about a year. Considering how much use it got, that doesn't seem unreasonable and still deserves 5 stars in my opinion. Besides it's only a few bucks for a new one so I can't complain.
I love having my keys on my belt loop
September 13, 2016
I have carried my keys on this carabiner for a few years. I lost mine, and ended up just going out and buying one a few days later. I love having my keys on my belt loop, and it's a length that lets me tuck the keys into my back pocket, so they don't make a ton of noise while I'm walking. It's also super convenient to have a bottle opener on me at all times, that actually works well, compared to some of the bottle opener keychains I've used before.
Good Multi-purpose Carabiner
July 3, 2016
Heavy duty carabiner and bottle cap opener. I've used mine as a key chain, as a way to hang a toiletry kit in hotels, and on a backpack to secure a water bottle and other gear. There is really good retention, and the carabineer is well made and strong. Not strong enough for climbing of course, but enough to trust with holding, and lowering/raising specific gear.
Great for parties! And grocery shopping....
May 9, 2016
I bought this carabiner because of its bottle cap popping ability. I'm tired of going to parties where there is either no bottle opener or I have to find where the last user put down that one community bottle opener before I can enjoy a cold brew. This is so cool -- efficient and effective. I just clip it onto my belt loop and it's always conveniently at hand. Makes me a popular guy too! Just make sure you get it back.I bought another to clip my reusable grocery store bags (the ChicoBag type). I keep two or three bags clipped to one side of the clip, then just clip the other side to my belt loop before I head out shopping. I no longer have to worry about anyone 'lifting' the expensive reusable stuff bags out of my cart when I'm not watching, and they are all right at hand when needed ... I just peel off the number needed to bag my purchase.
Handy Multipurpose Carabiner
September 24, 2014
I originally envisioned using this as a key chain, but found it a little too bulky for a few keys in my pocket. Can't knock stars for that because I really don't think they could have maintained the multipurpose nature of it if they had made it any smaller. I think it would work best if you have a large set of keys you clip to your belt loop--just push it toward your body as you rotate the S off the loop to keep the nub from hanging up. Definitely worthy of a shop or desk drawer. The bottle opener aspect works perfectly. It feels rugged, but given that it's marked "not for climbing" I wouldn't trust it with a lot of tension in other applications. Overall, a nice multipurpose item.

Good, but 3 flaws you might want to consider
June 17, 2016
To be honest this wasn't as awesome as I was envisioning it to be, but I like how rather than the traditional carabiner customarily used I don't have to worry about a key slipping unnoticed/accidentally.Flaws:1. The beer opener it's as sturdy as I was hoping, I was able to minimize my load my removing my beer opener I had on my keychain with the old-fashioned carabiner but it worked a hell of a lot better than this one. I am a bartender so I use a lot of beer openers this one does work just requires a good particular hold that I'm not a fan of.2. Although I have yet to experience any issues, the clips seem unreliable, they are just like extra strong paper-clips in my opinion (the black finish on them has already began to chip within 2 weeks of handling) (photo included)3. If this is of anyones concern when you do fasten this carabiner to a belt loop it hangs pretty low than a standard issue carabiner. While this is not a matter of it's overall functionality this was a little annoying. (photo included)
Great, Strong Item, but Too Bulky for EDC
May 5, 2016
Great item, which I have only one problem with - when you add keys, etc. to it, the clip becomes too big to keep in your pocket. But, I also like the size and heft of it in case I would ever need it in an emergency. I use it for everyday carrying, but I have to leave a couple keys/item clipped to it hanging out of my pocket so it doesn't bunch in the bottom of the pocket.
Thou shalt not rock climb and drink at the same time...
December 11, 2014
Imagine you're climbing Half Dome in Yosemite. You've been fingering rock cracks for hours. It's hard work and your fingers are cramping. It's time for a beer break. Luckily you're prepared (because you were a Boy Scout) and you brought suds to quench your thirst (in bottles of course). And you brought THIS THING to open them up with. You shove a fist deep into a rock crack then hang there 3000 feet above Yosemite Valley trying desperately to get THIS THING hanging from your harness to open the bottle. Shhhhhhk! Success! This commercial was performed by a professional rock-fister. Do not attempt this at home (do it at a friend's house).Get THIS THING! Don't leave home without it.
Great little keychain that won't last long
April 5, 2014
I have bought this Nite Ize keychain about three times since my first one a few years ago. I love the look, the fact that it has two sides and the the bottle opening function, but the clips on it do not last long at all. In about 10-12 months the clips will start to wear and wont close properly. They don't get tension from a spring or anything like that, they are just bent in such a way that they want to close. That means after months of use they will become slightly unbent, and no longer close. If you don't mind reordering one every so often I would definately recommend the Nite Ize keychain, but if you want it to last for years and years look elsewhere.
Good Keychain
January 17, 2011
The carabiner is very sturdy and functional. I used to use a random, cheap mini-carabiner for my keys, so this S-Biner is taking some getting used to since it isn't a full circle-- keys can't be ordered differently. However, the bottle opener function of this product... is definitely underwhelming. Like a previous reviewer said, it has trouble with bottles that have the cap much closer to the lip. The clip can't get under it well enough to actually open the bottle. And once the air pressure is let out, it still doesn't pry the cap off very nicely. It also dents the cap, but does not really bend it in half. It's a cool novelty item, though. I don't think it'll last as my primary bottle opener unfortunately.Update: I am still using this carabiner + bottle opener over a year and a half later. So, despite my last comments indication it being underwhelming, I still recommend it. It's plenty sturdy, and it took some practice to get used to the bottle opener, but I'm pretty good at using the opener now. I've found that using it "backwards" works better for many bottles. Backwards meaning using the little hump where the cap icon is to get under the lip of the cap-- That seems to work pretty well. It's always nice to be at a party and able to pull out my keys to open a bottle for myself or someone else.
Sturdy construction
January 14, 2011
This S-Biner Ahhh is intended to replace my well-worn S-Biner #3. The gates on the Ahhh seem a lot more sturdy than I remember the ones on the #3 ever being, they have a much, much stronger return action. Obviously, it's larger than the #3 as well, I would place it between the #4 and #4 S-Biners for size. Like other S-Biners, it's great for carrying keys but let's be honest, this isn't why I (or you) bought it.As a bottle opener, I've had mixed results so far. On longnecks and domestic bottles, it functions flawlessly for the most part; its action takes one or two tries to get used to due to the odd shaped handle the Ahhh turns out to be. As for imports such as Guinness Extra Stout where the cap is closer to the lip of the bottle, it does not work as well. This is because there is just enough clearance between the bottle cap and the bottle lip to slip the center of the Ahhh into in order to provide the force needed to remove the cap. Frankly, it's not a deal breaker, but it's something to keep in mind when trying this on all the bottles you may come across.

Spring broke after 12 months, still opens beers though :)
March 12, 2016
After 12 months of light duty usage (only 4 keys attached, regular belt loop clipping) one of the springs has broken in the middle. Before it broke it stopped springing back to the closed position and had to be 'helped' in order to close so if you're having similar symptoms you may prepare yourself for a break soon. Just submitted my warranty claim via Nite-Ize's site, will update review based on their customer service.Apart from that, it held keys and opened beers perfectly :)
Needs work.
January 4, 2016
I use this carabiner to carry my keys on my pants every day. The geometry of the S-Biner is such that the bottle opener isn't quite right and often takes me more than one try to open a standard bottle of beer. I also find that the thinner metal parts pop out periodically because the ends aren't thick enough to prevent them from sliding through the body of the carabiner. I've had a couple of close calls with my keys and may start looking for an alternative soon.
Kinda Bulky
December 27, 2015
Kinda big and bulky. I bought this as I like to start my car and let it run in the winter. I wanted to clip this to my starting key so I could clip the key off and leave my car running, but still be able to lock it and wait inside the house. This was too bulky for this purpose, but it does work as a good bottle opener on my purse and holds my house key so I found a use!
Works great as a bottle opener but...
March 7, 2015
Rather bulky and the tooth kind of interferes with rings being extracted, this device works much better as a bottle opener than it does a keyring. It probably works better than any other portable or multi tool bottle opener at the expense of being a large and marginally performing keyring. I think if only one side was an opener and the other were a normal s biner it would be better
Too big...
April 12, 2014
I used the # 3 standard s-biner from nite-ize which is awesome for clipping your keys to your belt loop. Reduces size and weight from your standard key carabiner. I was hoping this would be similar in size but it is noticeably bigger and I'm not sure I'm gonna keep using it. Might have to switch back to the s-biner I was using before. Would have been nice if only one side was a bottle opener and the other side was the standard s-biner style. The bump on the inside of each end to help bend the bottle cap prevents the clip from hanging evenly on a key hook too which bugs me and my self diagnosed OCD...
Great keychain... most of the time.
March 22, 2012
In the few weeks that I carried my keys on one of these I really enjoyed having it. I would still be using it if it weren't for the two times in 7 days my car keys magically fell off. Luckily both times it happened right outside of my house and I was able to find them but I just can't carry something that I can't trust. I read the other reviews before I bought and while others had this same issue I chose to give it a shot. It's good idea in theory but something needs to be done about the spring strength. I realize that this is not meant for climbing but it should be strong enough to not allow key rings to fall off when being removed from my pocket.

Does the job, if it doesn't get stuck in pocket
August 27, 2016
Gave up on it. Just got caught in my pants too much. Too bulky and dents the bottle caps. Disappointed.
Great for about 3 months! Then breaks and needs replacement, hope company notices and fixes this!
December 19, 2015
Looks good and works really well if the hinges/spring clips were better built to last. Like many of the other reviews, its great for the first 3 months, until one of the clips starts not locking properly, then breaks off completely a few days later. Yeah the S-part itself is very sturdy and probably will never break but its pretty useless with even 1 of the 2 spring clips broken.Mine was purchased in November 2016 and here it is Jan 2017 (not even 3 full months later) and mine is already broken. I'm ordering a replacement since I really like the clip but I'm hoping the company will refund my money for the broken one.
Don't be confused, this is a bottle opener and not a carabiner.
October 3, 2015
It is a bottle opener that can clip to things, that is it. I wouldn't trust it to hold very much weight at all, clip BARELY latches shut. Advertising is a bit misleading despite saying it is not meant for climbing. There are lots of carabiners that are great for supporting weight that aren't manufactured for climbing and this is not one of them.
Not my favorite
May 4, 2015
too bulky, got caught on things, kind of awkward to work if you need to swap out keys often. I gave it to my husband, he uses it, so I have n complaints, just not for me. Seems very well made.
Love the design and use - hate the durability...
January 15, 2014
So I've had this for about a year and a half and one of the clips broke in the middle, rendering the whole thing unusable. I'll probably get another one, but it's sad that it seems to be made of Chinese steel. A year and a half ain't bad for the price - but just beware. Also - the spring isn't that powerful. Keys often would come off. Thankfully, I tuck my keys in my pocket even when attached to this so they only end up there. I wouldn't use this to connect to dangling keys - you're asking for problems.
TOO BIG, FLAWED DESIGN
April 25, 2012
BOTTOM LINEThis thing is way bigger than I expected, and the hooking mechanism just doesn't work as intuitively as a normal carabiner. Only get if you want to hook stuff onto your belt or other things, not for carrying in your pocket (I'll elaborate on my complaints below).SIZEI was expecting something the size of a mini keychain carabiner, and this thing is MUCH BIGGER. If I were the kind of person who carried a ring of keys around, or carried my keys on my belt, this would work. However, I wanted the S-carabiner design, because I need to frequently detach my fob from my keys to get into and out of my apartment parking lot, and I wanted something that would allow me to do so without taking my keys out of the ignition. I thought this design would work, but I didn't expect the whole thing to be so big that I can no longer carry it comfortably in my pocket.DESIGNI actually think the design is rather flawed, because you it is very easy to open both clips at the same time, when you only mean to open one - especially when you are trying to operate the mechanism with one-hand. For instance, when I would try to unhook the fob from one side of the clip, I would often open and unhook keys from the other side. You have to be careful not to do this, and it just didn't feel intuitive to me. I'm sure other people had different luck with it.BOTTLE OPENERI found this thing too unwieldy to carry around, so I only use it as a spare bottle opener now. It works for that.
