Man this s*** is dope son. The HD tiny, and so is everything else. What you expect though? It runs exes, you're not limited to the shit store. I read a lot of negative s***, like they don't last long, maybe these mf's got viruses, I imagine someone who uses this as their main pc has the nastiest pc-std you can get. Using it to play low demand games, browsing, etc is great, mines worked fine for months now. Great for tethering on roadtrips, etc. Oh and that free Win10 upgrade, you don't have enough space to download it on this model, so you're stuck with 10 unless you have a usb adapter, disc drive, and a copy of Win10.

Pros-Lightweight-Very long battery life-The keyboard dock is fantastic-Pretty fast for what it's built to do-As new as new can be without being actually newCons-It can, although rarely, give you trouble waking up from sleep stateI actually had to order this item twice, because the first time the packaging it came in was defective, and I'm guessing that damaged the laptop. It kept crashing and trying to repair whatever it thought was broken. Luckily, I requested a new one and it arrived just a few days later.I needed this laptop for school, since I didn't want to be lugging around my other, much larger computer all day. This little laptop is great. Runs smoothly, weighs nothing, and has all of the handy touchscreen features that come with Windows 8. I should also mention that the boot time is fantastic. As soon as you press that button, it takes no longer than 5 seconds to get you to the login screen.The best part, though, is the price. There's a lot of bang for your buck here.

I just received my 2 in 1 today and so far, knock on wood, it's perfect. I'm using it to write this review. I've wanted one of these for at least a year and when I saw the refurbs and the price I jumped. After doing a crud load of research, that is. I did purchase a 64g micro sd card to install immediately so I wouldn't have to stress about the storage, but after the updates I still had about 16gs internal left so I guess it just depends on how many apps you have synced or installed. Beyond that so far the charge is holding, which from other reviews I was concerned about. Lots of cloud storage as well. Also it came installed with Windows 8.1, I didn't have to do any extra updates for it. So there you go, that's the review. Love it. If it takes a cr@p I will update.

So far I'm glad I purchased this tablet, it has everything I need.No problems, works perfect, glad it's a tablet / notebook, network connection is perfect, has a micro sd slot perfect, stays powered up for a long time. I'm glad I went with this instead of the surface pro.

Great tablet, was a little skeptical about buying something refurbished but have not had any issues. May actually purchase another for my son.

After reading the reviews of the factory new ASUS tablet I was a bit leery of what may be some quality control issues at the manufacturer. When I found the Certified Factory Reconditioned unit for a MUCH lower price, I jumped on it in a heartbeat. I have purchased factory recon units from other manufacturers (from printers to air-compressors), and have never has an out-of-the-box DOA, or a short-term failure. Recon units probably were warranty failures originally, and the factory defects were corrected-- but the unit is no longer "new" so it has to be sold as a refurb. This process probably means it has a higher level of quality control than the fresh-off-the-line new units (sadly, volume production creates a few lemons that pass the original inspections)..Like most tablets, the keyboard does not lend itself well to a touch typist, especially if you have fat fingers like mine. But if you were typing your Doctoral Dissertation, you'd want a real keyboard anyway. This is a tablet-- surprisingly versatile, but limited in general computing application.As others have noted, the 32Gb solid state hard drive is somewhat limiting. I added a $13.00 32gb memory chip, and solved that problem, but if the 64Gb unit were available as a recon, I'd recommend the larger storage. I posted the Windows updates and loaded Office 2013, and was down to 3Gb of free space. Anything new will have to go to the add-on chip.The USB ports are (one standard on the keyboard, one micro on the screen) valuable additions. I prefer a mouse to a touch pad, and I have always thought a touch screen is best suited for e-reading or closing an app in the Windows-8 jungle. The micro-HDMI port is useful for TV display of photos or videos.I was perfectly happy with my aging laptop, but my old-man arms will no longer allow me to retrieve it from the back seat of the car when posting my travel journal. The 2# 8oz tablet was just what the doctor ordered (really-- following shoulder surgery, I have a load limit!).I still carry the laptop on vacations, but it won't get as much use as it once did.

Very nice tablet. Faster than my Win7 laptop in app switching and startup. Haven't used it in office yet, I am sure it will bog down under heavy usage, but it is a tablet, under load it won't outperform a full size laptop with 8GB RAM. Quad core 1.3MHz processor is very fast, and if you watch the resource meter, under load the processor actually ramps up to 1.82 MHz. for email, web, entertainment, office and other basic everyday tasks it runs beautifully. I am not a gamer, so can't report that, but I saw other reviewers with positive results. HD video in netflix and Hulu are great with no lag or choppiness, even with an action flick (new Star Trek). sound was surprisingly good, didn't get a chance to use headphones yet. Color was accurate and resolution is very high.This is a refurbished unit, so it has a few scuffs and minor scratches. The screen is flawless and I am currently testing the battery life. So far after over an hour it is still at 90% (with the keyboard attached) and I am using it to install apps and customize it. I suspect and hope that the battery was replaced as part of the refurbishment. With refurbished units battery life is often a problem because they aren't always replaced, and over time they lose their run time.Keyboard is easy to use once you get used to the smaller keys. I have average sized hands and I can type on it. Keyboard is easy to remove and reconnect. It's not magnetic, but clips. Just line it up and press lightly until you hear both latches click. Hold the button and pull straight off to release.Storage is minimum, I have 6GB free after Office and my apps. If you have the 32GB unit, expect to run out to get a Micro-SD card after you load all of the apps and Office. I have a free live account, so I am going to store everything on my Skydrive. Some people reported getting more storage after running all of the Windows updates. I haven't done that you so we'll see.

Very good price for an x86 tablet!Good battery life & work great after my windows 10 upgrade.Only one USB input which is on the keyboard. I bought a micro USB to USB 3.0 plug to be able to plug in a 1tb HDD (you might want more hdd space)without the keyboard attached.Sound is OK but a bit low sometimes playing YouTube videos(headphones are better).Vlc player can turn up volume extremely high though so no worries.Works near perfect with bluestacks(Android emulator)!Runs fl studio pretty well if you want to practice making some music, but not sure about full tracks with vocals.Gaming: runs left4dead 2 easy, runs skyrim on low settings at 720p, good for dead space 1 & I assume it's good for moba like league of legends.If you could draw on it in Photoshop like a wacom tablet it would be over the top! But you can't it seem. :(Will update in a few months.Had I done research, I would of gotten it even cheaper on new egg. :(Worth the money lol

Just bought this tiny beast and here is my feedback so far (written on the Transformer!):Pros:Ridiculously long battery life. I charged it and brought it to work and worked on it all day. At the end of the day I still had 25% battery life left. This probably depends on your settings, but seems to last a very long time. At least long enough for you not to worry about it running out of battery.Very Small. It fits in your hand and the seat for the screen is a good handle to hold it.Feels solid. Even though it's light, it still feels heavy in your hands, so not just some plastic toy.Screen has nice resolution. Very sharp screen.Unbeatable price, even considering the upgrades that I made.Easy to remove the screen and put it back in. Very painless process.Fast processor. It's not for gaming but it does everything I need it to without too much strain. Streams and plays movies flawlessly.Comes with FULL version of Windows 8. Which I immediately (though it took basically a day of updating to all the latest WIN8 versions, just be patient) upgraded to Windows 10. This whole package is basically the cost of Windows itself!Cons (caveats for all of these):Small amount of memory. The 32GB version is actually very small. System files themselves take more than 15GB of storage which is bonkers. By the time I connected my OneDrive I was hitting 27GB out of available 30GB. So here is what I did. I bought a MicroSD card and put it in the slot. I bought the Max that will be compatible, which is 64GB. It was on sale for $25 at Best Buy. Then I mapped the MicroSD to be part of C: drive and moved my OneDrive onto it. (Found a guide online). So now all my one drive files are on the MicroSD card. Then I removed the OLD version of the Windows, which Windows keeps if you want to revert back. After installing some apps and a 2010 version of office I am now at 20GB. Apparently you can also remove the Bootable version of Windows, I haven't done that yet but it should free up some more memory. (About 4GB more of memory). In any case, keep that in mind.The charger and charge time is GARBAGE. This is really my biggest gripe. The charger that it came with is a 5V 2A charger and it charges it very slowly. 5 or more hours to charge fully. To boot, if you completely drain the battery, which I did the first day I got it, it won't boot up until It pre-charges it. Which is BS, it should be getting power straight from the plug instead of pre-charging the battery. To fix this, I bought a 5V 3.5A charger from Amazon. Haven't gotten it yet, but I hear that it really does help in this department. And forget about trying to charge it off your Micro USB phone charger, it will keep it alive but barely charges it in any reasonable amount of time. Its all about those AMPS apparently.There is only one USB plug. This is not that big of a deal to some, but a wireless mouse is pretty essential for me. The dongle takes up the only plug so you can't plug in USB drives. This is what I did. I bought a BT Mouse that doesn't need a dongle, since the computer has BT on it. Haven't gotten this yet, but this should free up my one and only USB port.Trackpad is a little sloppy. I read why that is and turns out that it is because of faulty connectors between the screen and the keyboard. The keyboard works fine but the mouse pad is wonky. Turns out that all you need to do is make sure that you plug it in fully and all the way. This sounds obvious but I was really worried that my mouse pad was broken. Once you plug it in all the way, it works just fine, but still and external mouse is the way to go. Luckily though, it is touch screen to half the time I don't even use the mouse!Screen size is small, which is good and bad. This is a pro and a con, so make sure you go to Best Buy and try out different keyboard and screen sizes. Speaking of which the keyboard is tiny, but I got used to it and now I like it.Bottom line, in order to fully replace my laptop with this, I had to also buy a $20 Mouse, a $25 Micro SD card, and a $10 charger, which still puts my purchase at $225 total, which is fantastic! Replaced my laptop completely, but note the limitations and make your own judgement!

Going into this I wasn't expecting a powerhouse. This is more along the lines of the netbooks of yore. It's a value oriented product without a lot of power to throw around. It runs Windows 10 just fine but I do recommend looking up tweaks if you're a power user. For regular users this might be a bit too slow for you. There is an updated model coming out that has 4GB of RAM so that should really help out with modern applications as where this unit doesn't do well is multi-tasking. The tablet overall works great. The keyboard is just fine for its size, I can attach/detach without issues, and the touchscreen works as expected. Despite the low resolution the screen is actually pretty good quality which was the right decision. If you can't do high res then at least do a good panel and that's what they've done. If you go into this with the limitations in mind you won't be disappointed. A bit of frustration with its speed is to be expected at this price range.

First i waited a week before posting a review wanted to make sure it was running fine after all is refurbishat the time im writing this is working fine i have no issue with it. came with windows 8 i decided to updated to windows 10now is working even better.this device is not for gaming or resource heavy stuff i mostly use it for videos writing ect you have the full windows 10 experince at your hands here the touch controls work fine im very please.

Bought one refurb a few weeks ago, and it simply died about 3 hours into installing my software on it, and I had to use Amazon return for a refund . However, I really liked the size and feel (and general performance) of the T100 for my carry-around PC/Tablet. Then last week the T100 was on sale again, $10 less than what I paid for the first unit, so I reordered it.I have been using it heavily for about 5 days and it is performing well. I will continue to give it heavy test/use for the next several weeks to see if it fails, but so far it appears to be a Keeper.Pros: + Nice compromise on performance. size, weight and ability to work as either a PC or Tablet - which is why I bought it + Cost as a refurb. Excellent for the Price, perforrnace. and utility received. Adequate as an office PC with + I like the Chiclet keyboard and touch pad; better that most laptops I have used.Cons: (nothing really significant) - have to buy a micro HDMI cable for connection to an external monitor (this is how I will use it most of the time, 10 screen ) - Limited internal memory (32GB , but this isn't meant to be your primary or gaming PC. - processor is supposed to be 64 bit, but the OS that comes with it is 32 bit - probably to use less internal memory.It is certainly adequate for my intended purposes. I also plan to use it a lot with an external monitor and USB hub, and I have installed a 64GB microSDXC card for my file storage to preserve the limited internal memory.

A brief summary of what I describe below:This is a great product for the price. I needed a tablet for work (I am a working musician, I need to easily access to charts constantly, I just wanted a little tablet, so I'm not even using it as a computer). It is lightweight, small and portable, easily detachable and attachable (the keyboard part where the tablet attaches is padded so it won't harm the tablet, see pics), and it's all I was expecting except for the screen (more below). It is not going to do all your iPad stuff. In fact, I don't have an iPad, I wasn't expecting one. I don't play games, I don't use fancy apps, just a PDF reader+editor. And sometimes I do use Netflix. I do regret a bit not going for the Android model since the Windows app store is eons behind the Android market. However, I am very familiar with Windows so I know exactly how to work with this machine. Windows 8 is a bit tricky, but you can find everything you need.But the thing that does bother me is the screen: It is a 10.1" display (you measure that by measuring the distance between one corner and its exact opposite, for example, from top left to bottom right), but since this is a laptop/tablet 2-in-1 the measurements are more favorable for the laptop, horizontal display. In other words, in a vertical tablet use the screen is too long and too narrow, at least for the purposes I wanted it (reading charts in .pdf format). So it helps me, but it could be better. Either way, I'm keeping it, and I love this tablet. For $200 I couldn't get anything much better. In its defense, the screen can follow a huge number of commands depending on how many fingers you use, how you swipe, etc.The keyboard is in English, but also in some other language (see pic), no big deal for me. It also does not have a rear camera, in case you even care (I don't). And the front camera is nothing especial.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------UPDATE 9/20/15Having Windows 8, I was qualified for a Windows 10 free update, and it is AMAZING!!! Still using it a lot for chart purposes, but editing PDF files was tricky, whenever I wanted to write a note in a handwritten fashion the tracking would be alright, but with a lot of skips in between. I never really cared, but after the update things got so much smoother!Also, Windows 10 is very intuitive. The Charm that you pull from the right (whatever that is called) is more comprehensive, and it includes some binary buttons such as Airplane Mode (to shut it on and off the easy way), Wifi (same, plus it will show you the connections around when you switch it on), bluetooth, screen rotation lock, and among others, the Tablet Mode option that you can turn on and off. On it enables the tablet view, off you get the desktop view. That made things so much easier that now I do use this as a laptop much more often. And my fiancé also started taking this to school since she's using some ebooks, so she uses the tablet mode for the books (and Netflix, secretly), the laptop mode for taking notes in class and such.Also, the 32 gb memory got quickly used but for around $55 I got this 128 GB PNY micro SDXC card http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00W77C1W4?ref_=cm_cr-mr-title and problem solved!!So now, with the Windows 10 update this IS a really good deal!! The App Store is still behind, but they have removed tons of fake and scam apps. But I am certainly giving much more use now, more for the sake of using it than for work, which is the exact opposite as before.

Good tablet, however it is thick and not balanced very well, it's awkward to hold in one hand. Don't expect to upgrade to Windows 10, that's simply not possible with a 35 Gb drive. Between Windows 8 OS and the recovery partitions, you have only about 15 Gb remaining, and that is not enough space to download/install Windows 10. Even when I copied the Windows 10 install files to a Mini SD drive, ( which became drive "D") I still could not install Win 10. I tried for several days to try and create enough room, even deleting some of Win 8's less important files, all to no avail. I spoke to ASUS and they told me to do a system restore to factory settings, which only free'd up another 900 Meg, still not enough to make the Win10 installer happy. If you're happy with a Win 8 OS and don't mind the thickness, its not a bad deal. For me, it did not fit my requirements. I returned it.

I only give it three stars because, for me, when it gets down to 10% or less, the laptop slows down considerably and at times, I have trouble turning on the screen from sleep mode and the pointer moves to certain areas when I don't touch the mouse pad.....but other than that, its a fine little toy like someone else said.

I bought this for traveling so I haven't used it much. I used it maybe 5 times in 3 month and yesterday I tried to turn it on and it is dead. I've tried charging it again... still nothing, its dead. Amazon will not accept a return. I guess I just lost $180 bucks!Update: I Just googled this problem. A blog post said to unplug the battery (hard to get to!), hold the power button for 30 seconds and then reconnect the battery. It worked perfect. The same post said to update the bios (not sure how to do that). When the compter powered up it was updating. I assume a Windows 10 update was the problem. This is the second time I have had a problem with updates. I lost my wifi the first time. After booting twice I got the wifi back. I'm changing this review to a guarded 3 stars. I hope it keeps working!

I have only had the tablet for a week, and I have noticed that it takes very very long to charge, and that once it is charged, it does not maintain the charge. Maybe I have one with a bad internal battery, not sure , but it is very irritating. Other than that, I have experienced a few soft ware glitches, like not synching my files correctly from my former tablet, some re-appearing arrow on the screen with some suggestion about aps, but annoyingly interfering with my tasks, and difficult to get rid of the (rather huge) arrow. I need a little more time to decide if I like this tablet. The key board s nice.

This Notebook was good on Windows 8, but it has a few notable problems on Windows 10. If you are an Xbox enjoying person, and are excited about the new feature of streaming Xbox One gaming to your PC on Windows 10, this isn't for you. I think this simply doesn't have enough RAM, or a fast enough processor to handle the streaming. Also, generally speaking, this PC can be sluggish at times, but it's not all that often that this occurs. But all together, this is not very fast or powerful, and would not recommend it to a gamer. However, I would recommend this to someone who would use this for personal use, or lighter work related use. If I could, I would rate this 3.5 stars

Received the transformer book today. Two of the three buttons I pushed stayed stuck until I managed to wiggle it back out from the hole. The connection for charging is unreliable - it had difficulty staying in 'charging' mode. Plus, it wouldn't even turn on no matter how long I held the power button. It looks like much better quality control is needed for their refurbishment process, because this one has multiple issues.Update: Finally got it to turn on, but the button issue is still problematic.

I have had this tablet for over a year so I feel that's enough time to accurately give my opinion. The battery life is very disappointing. It seems I have to constantly charge it after 3 or 4 hours of use. The tablet has frozen several times in which it will not turn on. I can always get it to restart by holding both the power and volume but I shouldn't have too. I will certainly check out other manufactures when I buy my next tablet.

very hard to set up out of the box ended up doing a factory reset twice to get it to work.

I had no problem with my Nextbook 7.85. It was awesome compared to the Nextbook 8. I will NEVER buy another one. I will list the reasons I don't like it. 1) It takes forever for it to turn on. I have to hold the button forever and then it takes forever to load and I don't have a lot of stuff downloaded on it. 2) I absolutely HATE the 'copy' feature. My old tablet (7.85) was so simple to copy. However on this 8.0 the 'new' thingys you slide to copy everything are round/oval and do not work. My blood pressure rises when I try to copy so I just forget about it. 3) The touch screen is disgusting. Sometimes I have to tap, tap, tap for it to change screens or whatever I want to do. 4) Not sure if this is a Nextbook problem or an Amazon change but on my 8.0 I can no longer do the 1 click to buy Amazon stuff. Very stupid...Amazon is losing a lot of money. 4) I DO like the clear pictures and one of the screensaver designs but that's about it. 6) Lastly, when I saw the Nextbook 8.0 I figured the screen would be square like my 7.85 (only larger) But no....it's a stupid long and skinny screen. :( DO NOT BUY ONE!

Attractive tablet. Did not meet my expectations, so I returned it. I bought another of the same model at another retailer and had the same issues.

OK, it's cheap, and does it show! It's also impossible to get tech support, since they insist you upload a proof of purchase to open a ticket, but the web form won't accept it. I needed cheap windows hardware to develop with. This is cheap, but it looks like its not possible to develop with. If that's what you want, don't waste your time.

Was awesome...or a while. Then it just stopped working

The first one we ordered malfunctioned within the warranty period and seller happily replaced it. The SECOND one has failed just DAYS out of warranty and local repair shop cannot repair. I know I took a risk purchasing a refurbished one, but good grief! I expected better quality. When it worked it was handy and versatile...my son used it for digital textbooks and work at school. Shopping for replacement

This unit is slow. It has crashed about 4 times. I have had to do 2 full reboots. I do not recommend this unit.

Initially the Asus Transformer Book worked okay, but it became more and more unreliable with each passing day. Finally it died altogether and I had to return it. I wouldn't buy another refurbished item.

I wish i had researched more. The tech is a little outdated and the Windows format does not provide a smooth transition between apps. Plus, since i am used to android, the store is monumentally lacking.

Don't buy this product! Don't waste your money!I received this tablet as a gift, I will never buy this product, recommend this product to anyone, or tell others about any of its good qualities, because they are virtually non--existent. Hi, I am a network admin, I have been "tech-savvy" since I was 14, where I fixed up and merged multiple Pentium II's. I tell you this because I am not a moron, I have a lot of computer experience. Take this as the final review you will ever need for this product. This is the most cumbersome, inflexible, buggy, and poorly programmed device I have come across in years. I have fixed up Acer laptops better than this tablet. Programs frequently freeze, generally because this tablet cannot operate more than 3-4 programs without one of them stalling. Solutions are sparse because tech support is awful. Not only did I provide the "proof of purchase" to show Microsoft that I am an honest customer. The tech support doesn't actually help you with specific problems. It's almost like, those problems were purposefully engineered... I knew more than the guy did helping me, it's honestly laughable. Many programs fail to download, fail to extract, or fail to run the first time. Starting up any program takes a lot of time, you need a lot of patience with this product. Oh, and I read the instructions manual, it helps you understand the features, how to use it properly... and that's about it. The manual doesn't show you how to fix anything beyond the basics, anyone with common computer sense would already have done what the manual suggests. One final thought, the battery life is poor. It's almost like... this product was designed to fail.

After it went into sleep mode, it wouldn't turn back on. Had to return after one day of having it. Would not recommend.

I got mine for Christmas last year. I used it about a week. Then it just would not charge. I recently ordered all the accessories for it. I received the car charger yesterday, and it works fine, but the tablet acts as if the insertion jack just has a short. It does this with a new charger, so I am buying an Amazon Kindle, and pray Amazon will give me a credit on the accessories i bought with the chargers. Maybe they will fit , would be nice! I would spend the extra money , but it was a gift , and a lovely gesture. But he knows now as well. . Also , large stores do NOT carry anything or have much knowledge about this brand.

Bought @ Xmas. Used 11 months, it died. Had to send back @ my expense. It was replaced. That tablet worked for 7 months. They did not honor the replacement warranty. Piece of junk. Will be buying another brand.

Nextbook 8 was advertised as being android compatable. It is not. I'm not a tech geek so I didn't know that no matter what is adveertised, Windows is not Android compatable. The ONLY reason I wanted this was so I could use it to display the results from a a diagnostic tool that uses Bluetooth technology on an Android platform. Hard lesson learned.

It's a complete waste of your money. I had mine for 10 days, used it 3 times and then it shut down by itself. I haven't been able to restart it since. Tech support? Ha you have to load your receipt on their site and it doesn't work. They won't take returns if you didn't purchase it from them so if Amazon doesn't I just wasted money on this cheap product and 1 year warranty?

This was delivered with a D.O.A. Broadcom network adapter. I tried everything. I downloaded the latest drivers from ASUS onto a USB drive, installed them, still dead. I used my USB wireless adapter from my desktop to download a massive Windows 10 update. Same, network adapter still dead. I uninstalled and reinstalled the drivers, cold boot, found the adapter, but still got error "10 device could not start." I flashed the Bios using winflash to the latest Bios, nothing still dead. I literally spent the whole evening trying to make this work because it was a Christmas gift for my son for him to take back to college. But I can't keep this, it's coming back. I knew better than to buy refurbished, but I took a chance, and I got bit. Never again. I'm pretty sure when they get the returns, they just slap them back in the box and hope some other person will buy it and never return it.

I am so disappointed in this product. I ordered one for same-day delivery and was really excited to get it charged up and ready to go, in anticipation of being able to ditch my clunky laptop. The network adapter did not work at all. No Wifi icon, no wireless network connection options, and a big old error sign on the network adapter in the device manager. I spent about four hours trying to troubleshoot the problem myself, reading pages and pages of tech support forums of people having the same problem. I was unable to resolve the problem so I requested a return and ordered another one, hoping mine was just a lemon. I got the second one and it has the EXACT same problem. Before you buy this, run a search for ASUS T100TA Broadcom adapter error, or wifi problems, or "can't connect to the internet," and you'll see this is a common issue that appears to have affected many tablets upon upgrading to Windows 10 from Windows 8.1. Don't buy this if you are hoping to go online without buying an additional USB network adapter.

I bought this book a year ago and used it lightly since then. The book has a nice feel and overall good quality. It is light-weight, slick, and fast. I mostly use it for web browsing and watching videos, no problems here, despite moderate 2 GB RAM. Even Chome runs fast on it, being a RAM-greedy browser. The book holds charge reasonably long - at least 6 hrs (possibly longer).The main drawback is charging and the battery.1) It a dumb design to make notebook charge ONLY from micro-USB connector. First, this limits the charging voltage (5V) and current (2A) dramatically. USB charging is good for small devices, not laptops. Second, micro-USB connector is not very reliable as power connector, because of it's small contacts and easy contamination with dust.2) Initially it was taking 2 hrs for full charging. But now it takes painfully long, about 20 hrs for full charging.3) Being turned on and plugged to power, a lot of times the book does not charge. I thought it is a bug of design (charging only when off), but discovered that if I take the plug out, put back in, press firmly, it starts charging again. There is a lot of idiosyncrasy around when and how it charges.I wish I could replace the battery and power connector, but it does not seem easy.UPDATE: the book has died completely. The screen went black during skype conversation, and never wakes up again. What a waste of money.

If you do buy make sure to turn off sleep mode. 90 ‰of the time if you let the tablet sleep you can't get it back until it dies. Which can take a long time I loved it when it worked. Size weight perfect brightness could be better but it was ok. First tablet came dead. IHad to wait a day to send it back. Second one came ok but the Asus logo was removed and the key was missing. I found it in the box later on. My refund took almost a month to get. The seller was not a help at all they said call amazon for everything. The packaging was a big box with a small box in it. The tablet was not secure in the box at all.

This is a review of the specific refurbished tablet I received, not an indictment of the product overall. I had the tablet opened and on the charger, running updates for all of maybe twenty minutes before the screen went black, and refused to turn back on. I charged it for several more hours, and it never would turn back on, so I returned it. On a less important note, the edges of the tablet's case were pried slightly open, and scratched as though someone had done so with a knife. I returned it, and have reordered from a different seller.

I was excited that this was delivered in time for my class tonight.That was UNTIL I plugged it in to charge and it wont charge, nor will it turn on at all. I work with computers and thought this little guy could be my portable scheduler and note taker.... I guess not today! Shoot me.I love the keyboard but that is all I can comment on. LOL!
