Amazing value! Love this machine!
February 22, 2017
I love this machine! It took a little trial and error to figure out the best brew, but once you get it, it's great! FINELY grind the espresso and run hot water awhile before placing the espresso in the machine. This has given me crema with a rich, bold espresso. (use quality espresso beans and grind it yourself) If you want barista quality, double up your espresso use with less water. I also practiced getting micro foam from the steam wand so that I can make coffee shop quality drinks at home! I highly recommend this machine for those looking for an inexpensive machine that gives quality coffee drinks!
Couldn't ask for more in a first Espresso Machine and the price is right

Being someone that does drink many carbonated products for caffeine, I tend to stick with Monster Rehab and Espresso. I don't like going out constantly to get caffeinated products and am not a normal coffee drinker. I've owned this product for some time now. The fact that it came with so many features for the price, a really good manual and a variety of espresso making options; along with the metal option you don't find available at this price in retail stores drew me toward it. I have used several brands of ESE pods for fast espresso, several brands of ground espresso, different sized double walled glasses such as the De'Longhi espresso size, the De'Longhi capichino size, etc. with the machine. I have had any issues with it. Cleaning is easy. If I decide to upgrade in the future, I'll be looking at this brand for a higher level model before any other brand.

This expresso machine is a steal for the price. I was looking for something in this price range that made great expresso. I used it on the daily basis since I bought and I love it. The machine is user friendly and very low maintenance. I was concern that it will take forever to heat up and be ready to prepare the coffee but that is not case. I will be honest when I make my coffee in the morning, I warmed up my son milk, it just that easy.

Great machine, i am from Europe and this makes an awsome coffee. I read the reviews and there is a lot of people who said things like, they cant get a hot coffee, or its noisy, and it takes too long. I honestly think maybe they do not no how to use the machine, have not read the instructions properly or ever actually listened to a proper Espresso machine working !
OK machine for cheap
February 23, 2016
Small footprint and good coffee from this machine. I bought one for home and one for the office 2 months later. The ECP3630 won't push through the finest setting on my Hario grinder. I need to step it back about 3 clicks to get a shot. But for the price, the result is good enough. I'm giving full marks based on value. Pretty good espresso and pretty good Americano. Of course it isn't the very best I've ever had, but it's excellent for the price. I'm no expert and I expect to have a better result once I find the right beans or start roasting my own, but the Lavazza Super Crema beans produce pretty good results. I know this is a bit out of order but the next purchase for me will be a proper grinder. The milk frother works OK as well. I'd characterize the foam texture as "medium." Much better choice for my office than the AeroPress, which I learned to hate.
Love this machine

Love this machine! It is easy to use and helps me makes fantastic lattes. I recommend investing in an instant read thermometer for reading the temperature of your steaming milk. Between 150-160 degrees is the optimal temp for the steamed milk.Things that might be useful to know if you are thinking of purchasing:-The steamer wand has two settings "hot milk" and "cappuccino" - this is awesome for controlling the amount of froth in the milk. Everyone has different tastes so this feature is really useful!-A regular coffee mug 4.5" high fits under the coffee dispenser. No need to mess around with the double-walled glass cups that are traditionally used for espresso.-Comes with a plastic tool that has a coffee scoop on one side and a tamper on the other. The tamper is quite adequate - no need to purchase an additional tamper.-Refillable water tank.I've only had this for a few weeks but I average about 3 lattes a day and this machine does not dissapoint!

Amazing performance, amazing price

The cost is so low and the thing works so well, there is pretty much no reason not to buy one of these. Just divide the cost by how much you'd spend out buying coffee drinks and it's a no brainer. As someone else noted, even if it dies every year it's worth just buying another. I replaced a very basic Braun espresso maker and this one is far better. Makes excellent espresso. The frother works just fine. Needed to buy a carafe, but you can find cheap ones that look and fit fine. I like the large water reservoir and fast startup. The size fits well on my counter. It is not nearly as loud and shaky as the De'Longhi ECP3420 I sent back. It does have operational step sequences you have to figure out, and one idiosyncrasy after you stop steam, but once you learn it, no problem. Easy to clean.
This maching is awesome

This was a great investment for me at $60. It produces better espresso than what Starbucks puts out most of the time. I use it for iced drinks only so I cant speak for steamed milk and whatnot. I read several reviews before ordering and some people complained of water tank leaks, I read another review that said to circumvent the issue you should only remove the water tank for cleaning, and I have not had any issues with it yet. The only issue I have had is if you grind the coffee too fine or tamp it too tight coffee will leak out around the gasket that seals the portafilter basket. I love this machine and I have had it for 6 months so far I will update my review if the machine dies within the next 12 months, if it serves its purpose for 18 months total I will consider it money well spent.Just for reference I brew about 10 shots a week average.
Great for the Price--Treat with care tho. How-to tips below:
January 17, 2017
Great machine for the price. Steaming arm actually works on this generation. A few notes: 1. Take off and throw away the rubber/plastic thing on the steaming wand. 2. prime the steaming wand; a good squirt of water comes out first; you don't want that in your milk!!. 3. prime the brew head as well for a few secs--twice; some cold water will get in your coffee if you don't. 4. after you're done brewing and have removed the portafilter, rinse the brewhead by just priming it for a couple secs--twice. This will get any coffee grounds off the "showerhead." 5. ALWAYS brew into clear shot glasses; 25-30 secs MAX. If you're not getting two oz. of espresso by 30 secs, your grind is too fine or too packed. Less than 25 secs??? Grind finer or pack more for good strong shots. A simple digital kitchen timer is all you need. Also, if you don't know what a good shot looks like; heart, body, crema, ask a Barista at your Local GOOD Coffeehouse; not Starbucks. They don't even make their own shots!! THIS CANNOT BE OVER-EMPHASIZED: Don't run shots for volume; run for time. Pump Espresso machines are under A LOT of steam pressure stress as they're working, and this one at less that $100 of course is not gonna be beefy and overbuilt inside for strength. Using good technique as mentioned above, I've gotten months of trouble-free use outta this Baby and not had to pay $4 a day for lattes at the shop. I also De-scale it after every 2 pounds of coffee with Goo Gone's cleaner. Enjoy!!
Seriously impressed as a former barista
October 17, 2016
Excellent machine. Have been using it for several months straight with no problems. Lattes definitely get hot enough for my preference and in a two story home no one can hear it upstairs. I clean the frother every time and haven't experienced any leaking yet. I suspect that mainly comes from positioning the water tank poorly or not dumping the tray enough. I fill my tank with fresh water as needed instead of picking it up to avoid issues. As others have noted, no milk pitcher or espresso cups are included. As an exBux partner, I would really recommend this machine if you want something reliable and budget-friendly.
Mr Coffee espresso machine
September 5, 2016
This machine is very good for the price. It makes good espresso shots, however I found the steam wand a bit tricky to use. It is kind a too short but once you get used to it, it will be no problem. It also needs cleaning after each use, otherwise it will not work properly due to the clog from the milk, It does not perform like 1000+ bucks machine, but the result is close enough if done properly. I have not had any leak problem as noted by other users, and I have this machine for about 3 months.
The key is the pressurized portafilter design, guarantees a quality espresso shot
January 8, 2015
*Update*: Still like this machine but just beware that the screws in the water tank rust. The rust crumbles off and falls onto a ledge inside the water tank, not directly into the water, but it's possible little pieces of rust can tumble into the water. This machine is a great value for the quality of espresso you get out of it. The portafilter (the thing that holds the coffee) is pressurized (read up on pressurized vs non-pressurized portafilters), which is the key to why this is a safe beginner machine. A pressurized portafilter will not release coffee until enough pressure has built up within the basket, extracting dense flavor, the key to a good espresso. Non-pressurized portafilters rely on the fine grain of espresso ground coffee being tightly compacted into the basket (called tamping) to provide a similar resistance (fyi, espresso snobs demand a non-pressurized basket supposedly because it gives more control over the extraction process). This machine is designed to work better with coarser regular ground coffee (for drip machines), but I HIGHLY recommend you do not do that. Buy a burr grinder and find a grind somewhere between coarser filter coffee and very fine espresso coffee that you like best. Very fine espresso coffee will clog in this machine's portafilter, which is actually good because you won't have to buy a $500 coffee grinder in order to get the right size grind (by the way, very fine coffee works best in non-pressurized portafilters, which the snobs like). Another complaint about pressurized baskets is that the crema can be watery, flavorless, and dissipates quickly because it's basically water bubbles. For some reason, this machine makes great oily crema that is creamy and long-lasting. I love making Americanos with this machine for this reason (it creates a creamy cup of coffee much different than a regular cup of coffee). Milk steamer is adequate, but I suggest beginners watch youtube videos on how to steam milk properly. Buy a small milk pitcher because the spout is short (I use a 12 oz bought on amazon). Love this machine.

Coffee will never be the same again. I'm spoiled now.
January 20, 2017
I've been using my espresso machine for well over month now and I love it! I use it a few times during the week, and multiple times on the weekends. So far, there have been no technical issues. When I first got it I thought something was wrong because it didn't pump water but quickly realized I didn't seat the water container fully in the compartment, so it was operator error on my part. I like that you can fill the water compartment using a water pitcher (I only use filtered water)... so you don't have to pull it out all the time. And it doesn't seem to need refilling too frequently... maybe every 5 or 6 uses. I use the double espresso cup exclusively. It only takes a few minutes and is totally worth the time. I purchased a stainless steel frothing pitcher because one does not come with the machine. It does come with a plastic scoop/tamper that does the trick but it's cheap and really annoying, so I'm looking for a new stainless steel tamper as well. The only reason I'm giving it 4 stars instead of 5 is because it hasn't stood the test of time yet.

October 23, 2016
This is the second DeLonghi I've owned--the first one lasted about 6 years. This version is great for coffee-loving apartment-dwellers in particular--its footprint is only about 7"W x 9-1/2" D x 12" H, which easily tucks under the cabinets in my kitchen which I imagine is fairly typical. There are a few things you need to do, the first one being Read the Instruction Manual--the quick-start guide leaves out a few things. Big ideas: First, preheat the machine by running water through it twice before adding coffee to the holder . Second, before you begin to steam your milk, turn both dials to steam and let the water that has accumulated in the various 'pipes' escape into a container--only once you see steam actually coming out of the wand should you immerse it in the milk container and begin steaming, otherwise you'll be adding a fair amount of hot water to your milk. Third, determining whether the milk is hot enough is tricky--you might want to purchase an immersion thermometer (which came with my first machine). Fourth, some baristas of my acquaintance recommend steaming the milk first and allowing the foam to settle out of the milk while you brew the espresso. Keeping all that in mind, I have brewed some pretty darned good lattes in the past few days (far coffee-er than Starbucks, my friends). I'm reserving the 5th star for a while because I bought this item from the Amazon Warehouse (at a greatly reduced price due to damaged packaging) and want to make sure there aren't any hidden defects. I've been burned in the past.
but the coffee is excellent. The steamer/foamer works very well
September 6, 2016
I've been using this for 8 months and I think it's a very serviceable espresso maker for the price. It's a little slow to brew, but the coffee is excellent. The steamer/foamer works very well. I have not encountered any of the leakage or functional issues others have noted. I have experienced the water compartment loosening a little occasionally when the level is low. I make a point of checking that it is properly seated before starting to brew.

Very good machine. We have hadit about a week and so far works great. Had one instance where no water was flowing out and it had not yet run out of water in reservoir, so maybe pump somehow needed to be reprimed. But worked very nicely after that.I would have given it 5 stars if it would make espresso with as much "foam" as another Espresso machine of different Italian brand , but foam is adequate. Very surprised that this Italian machine was "made in China", but I guess Italian companies outsourcing too..
Received defective
October 30, 2015
Received defective product, water doesn't even get warm in temperature. Returned for a replacement. I will update after I receive the replacement. Product looks nice and is what I was looking for but doesn't work right out of the box. Poor QC at Delonghi.Updated: Received the replacement and it is perfect. Makes hot espresso and lattes, nice and compact. I would recommend. Too bad the first one was defective out of the box, otherwise I would give it 5 stars.
Good Machine with Missing Promised Filters
October 16, 2015
I've just received this today, and so far so good. My only gripe is there are two filters missing, the 1 cup filter and the ESE filter are missing. Everything was packed solid and utensils were wrapped appropriately in their plastic bags; instructions and the guidebook were there. No filters. Someone else on here reported the same experience. Fortunately, I am able to use my retired machine's ESE filter if I need to. Just kinda sucks that I'm not getting everything I paid for. Not sending it back; I tore the box apart and I need my morning brew

Great coffee but some problems
April 3, 2017
I would give it 3.5 stars if I could. The reason is because the portafilter- the thing you put the coffee in and twist on, has never twisted all the way on. You are supposed to twist it from the far left to the middle of the machine like you see in the picture. I can't move mine more than 50 degrees because it is incredibly hard to twist. It barely fits on and the machine is so light, there is absolutely no leverage. It's a hassle. But I love the flavor of the coffee. And I have trouble with my frother working sometimes. I have to turn the entire machine all the way off and on again, sometimes several times before the frother/steamer works. You will hear it pump, but the steam does't come on. I clean it each and every time and have plenty of water in the machine, so I'm not sure why it is temperamental. I have used almond milk just fine in the frother. I would recommend getting a pitcher to steam your milk that is not too large because the tip of the wand doesn't reach very far down. And don't get one very small because the volume doubles.
Good espresso, especially for seafarers.
October 26, 2016
We've found this espresso machine to make fairly decent espresso and cappuccino. Our particular unit is a bit noisy - the pump makes a sound that resembles a fog horn. It's not awful, but can be annoying if there are bedrooms located near the kitchen and people are still sleeping while the coffee is being prepared by early risers. For those who are seafarers and are using this on board a sailing vessel, however, this sound can be very useful during times of fog and heavy mist. Design-wise it would be nice to have all of the controls on the front of the unit. Having the power switch and brew/steam control on the right side requires a bit more room on that side of the machine to access these. Again, this is not awful, but for those with very limited counter space - such as a galley on the aforementioned sailing vessel - this can be an issue. The reservoir has ample capacity for a machine this size. It can be helpful to have a light source near the unit for easier viewing of the water level in the reservoir without having to remove it. While there have been a few detractors with this machine for our family, it has been a good espresso and cappuccino maker overall, especially within this price range.
I like it.
October 17, 2016
I've had the unit for four days and pulled twelve shots so far. It has worked perfectly. There was a small leak from the back of the machine when I first tried it, but that was because I had not seated the water reservoir firmly enough. Since I figured that out it has been dry.The espresso is just like at the coffee shop. The frother works well, but could be easier to clean. I'm not sure HOW it could be easier to clean, but the rubber frothing attachment is a little fussy to remove frequently. No big deal.Over all I'm very happy with the purchase, and would tell you to buy one with confidence. The quality exceeds the price.UPDATE: Six months later and it is still going strong. I use it every day and love it.
Great beginner machine, not for picky or professional baristas
September 26, 2016
I am not a professional by any means, but I was a barista at a successful "mom n pop" coffee shop for a year, so I know how to pull a good shot and properly steam milk. I like good coffee, but I'm not a stickler. I wanted to be able to make my own espresso for americanos and the occasional latte at home. I did my research and decided on this machine because it's under 100 bucks which is what I was looking for. I also was looking at the Hamilton beach one that's under 100, and the delonghi. I know that's a better brand but this machine was a little cheaper and had similar reviews. This one is very user friendly, you definitely don't have to have barista experience to get a shot from it. Extreme coffee people might say it doesn't pull a "real" shot because it doesn't require espresso fine ground coffee (real espresso grounds should be as fine as powdered sugar and fit between the lines of your fingerprint) you can actually use it with regular ground coffee for a drip machine, although I use a burr grinder and have it set somewhere in between the two. You don't need to buy a different tamper; the one it comes with is definitely the worst tamper I've ever seen, but with this machine you really don't need a heavy tamper to pack it down hard, because it doesn't make pucks. Even after a decent shot, the leftover grounds come out as sludge instead of a puck, but it seems that's just how this machine works. It's definitely not coffee shop quality but if you want to be able to make coffee that is more than just black brew from a drip machine, then this gets the job done. I like it a lot, it's not for you if you're going to be picky about a syrupy vs runny shot, or how many seconds it takes, but if you just want some espresso with a good layer of yummy crema from your own home for well less than a hundred bucks then this is for you. I can't speak for how long it lasts because I've only had it for less than a month but I've used it multiple times every day and it's working great.
Brews good espresso but oft retains brew in filter making messy refill ...
July 6, 2016
Surprise, still working after 7 months of heavy use. Brews good espresso but oft retains brew in filter making messy refilling. Get the insurance, you will likely use it before expiration. Empty water tank nightly and air dry. Wipe brew nozzle area frequently. Don't overfill filter, place grind about 1/8th inch from top of filter. Clean tray daily. We don't froth, so no comment.12/29/2016 UPDATE: BUY the INSURANCE: Worked well, multiple cups per day, for 13 months but died quietly after a morning espresso. The insurance required item return but provided return shipping. Once received provided full refund. Yep, I will buy another one + insurance, This lasted longer than I expected and the espresso is good. Expensive machines usually require annual service; this unit is a best buy, for me.
We are addicted!
August 10, 2012
This is a great machine! When I worked, we had a $6000.00 machine and I can't say it was better! The only thing it did was grind/fill/dump old coffee grounds. I can't say that is worth $5925.00! Seriously, this machine make a perfect Espresso and Cappuccino. We use the dark whole beans at Sam's club and grind a small counter-top storage container at a time with our magic bullet. Highly recommend this over a coffee bean grinder. It isn't as messy, easy to use, washable and you can see when the beans are ready. You have to play around with the fineness of the grounds, ours are almost power like. We also removed the rubber piece from the steam wand. Again, you have to learn how to froth your milk. It only takes about 1 to 1.5" at the bottom of your stainless frothing cup. You have to swirl, lift and dip - I find the best froth comes when you put the tip just before removing it from the milk. It takes a little while to get to this point, just keep moving it. Otherwise, you will burn the milk. Patients and practice! When we first started, it seemed like it took forever to make just 1 cup. Now, it is quick and easy. I make my cup while heating my daughters pancakes in the toaster. It is that quick and easy! The only downfall is the height where you place your cup. We like using the double cup and making a large coffee mug. You have to tilt the cup to get it underneath - same to remove it. Since you have to leave space for your froth, it doesn't spill... it would just be easier if we didn't have to do this. @ Mr. Coffee: raising it just a 1/2" would solve this problem!

Good for a firs time buyer
February 4, 2017
It's a very nicely build machine, all stainless steel, looks very durable. I bought it to replace a Philips Saeco Poemia, which was amazing. I've only used it for 3 days and decide to return it. Unfortunately, coffee tastes weaker and watered down in comparison to the Philips. I've tried different types of coffee with different grinds and it didn't help. I've been drinking only espresso since the day i started drink coffee and I've owned many espresso makers during the years, so i can tell the deference between good and great espresso. I would recommend this one to someone who is upgrading to espresso machine from a standard drip coffee maker.
add some hot water for a few minutes and then press and enjoy the coffee
January 9, 2017
It came, I tried it and decided that I'm really not into the hassle of making a complicated deal of making a cup of coffee. It does the job it states it will do, but I went back to my old French Press:put in the coffee, add some hot water for a few minutes and then press and enjoy the coffee. And I can make it as strong or weak as I choose.

This espresso maker worked like a dream for the first year and then for no reason the steamer function stopped working. When it was working properly the espresso always had a nice crema and the steamer made nice frothed milk. Aside from it not lasting, it is a very loud machine and when the espresso function is working the machine shakes a lot.All in all, I'd say it was well worth it for an affordable espresso machine. I used it 4-5 times per week for one year. It certainly saved me a lot of money.
Okay for money
July 8, 2017
This was half off when I bought it. It works fine, but here are the cons:1. Noisy when on, so much so my dog barks while it's brewing2. Does not auto stop when cups are filled, so you must stand and watch it brew to turn off process at desired "coffee" level per cup3. The coffee grind holder was almost impossible to turn during initial uses. Getting a little better, but was concerned I would bust it.Pros:1. Price very reasonable when purchased as it was half off original listing2. Built in water tank3. Easy use
Good espresso. Steamer is iffy.
June 19, 2017
The steamer doubles the volume of my milk by the time it's 100 degrees. The milk starts to bubble over the pitcher before it's even hot. There is no way to control the level of steam and prevent this from happening, so I usually just microwave my milk. One trick could be to microwave my milk and then add froth on top. Meh.... but the espresso part is good! I might invest in a heavier tamper.
If you want a cheap espresso machine this is the one to get.
May 1, 2017
It's a cheap espresso machine, so you get exactly what you pay for. It makes great lattes, but there's some design flaws. The steamer handle is short so you can't reach the bottom of a normal sized cup.It takes a while to switch from the espresso to the steamer, and the little button/nob combo is annoying. It will literally vibrate your cup off of the platform and spill everywhere so definitely keep an eye on it.
ECMP50 Doesn't last very long
May 10, 2011
Update 7/25/13: It died. No amount of vinegar cleaning worked. The pump sounds like it fizzled out. We got 2 1/2 years out of it, so I guess I got my $75 worth. I tried to replace the steamer nozzle last fall, but couldn't get into the housing, so I used pliers and squeezed the housing around the nipple. It held. We've replaced it with anoher Krups (XP601050). It just came and sounds stronger than the Mr Coffee machine. We'll see.Origninal: I wanted to wait a few months before writing a review. We had a Krups for about 10 yrs prior and the hard water finally did it in. I didn't want to spend much, so I took a chance on the ECMP50. Everything is fine except that the threads inside the steamer nozzle arm stripped about a month after we got it. I never used the rubber cover on our prior machine and didn't use it on this for cleaning purposes. Now, I just leave the rubber cover on all the time and hope the machine lasts me a few years.Other than that, it works fine.

Big Disappointment, this machine arrived missing parts to make it work
October 29, 2017
This machine came out of the box missing parts. I contacted DeLonghi customer service multiple times, they finally sent one of the 2 parts i needed to make it work sorta, Im still missing the double shot insert I don't think I'll ever get it. Terrible Customer service from this company. The part they sent wasn't even new, its used, as its got scratches and signs of being used before. This machine uses a strange method of having a single tiny hole on the bottom of the coffee cup insert as their way to build up significant pressure to work.If you pack the grounds into the cup really "at all" it won't work. this is a hokey and cheap way to accomplish higher bars of pressure.I wish i could go back in time and immediately return it, rather than trusting their customer service people to make it right.I wanted to leave one star but I've never had the heart to do that before.

I loved this product when I received it, however,it has been a little over a month now and the handle is hard to put on and take off. Sometimes, i remove the handle and the part where you put the coffee in does not come out, it stays tied up to the pot. Other than that I love this coffee pot.

Beware refurb / repackaged....I bought one of these as an open box / refurb item. It was missing part of the frother, but the bigger issue was that it didn't heat up at all.I returned that one... very disappointed. I was looking forward to an espresso on Christmas morning. But it was not to be.I have since ordered a brand spanking new one that should be here in a couple days. At that point I'll edit my review. So by New Year's Eve I should be ready to rock.

October 31, 2016
After trying it a few times, there is a plastic smell and taste to the steamed milk. We kept trying to run and flush it, but can't get rid of smell and taste. As for the Espresso, maybe we are coffee snobs, but we couldn't get the right intensity of taste and flavor. Often it would be too weak in flavor. We are using expensive espresso beans, freshly ground. You'll need to tweak the grinder to come up with the consistency you like, plus check times of how long you run the machine, it is not automatic. A finer grain may be needed to get a bold flavor of espresso, we had our grinder on the finest grain it could produce, but still it was weak. Consider you may have to upgrade your grinder to mate along with this product. Overall the plastic smell/taste is a show stopper and it's being returned. Disappointed.

Good expresso, short lifespan
November 9, 2017
This is a 2 star review for one reason: short lifespan. The machine works well as advertised, and the expresso is good quality--I have used it twice a day (or more) for two years, and I can validate the results of the more positive reviews here. However, after the first year, it began to leak water from underneath with every use. At first, it was only a small amount, but gradually the leak has become worse; now, it leaks twice as much water as the amount of expresso it produces in a single use, and I have to replace it. My previous expresso maker, a Krupps, lasted almost 15 years before failing. In contrast, the Mr. Coffee gave me one year of trouble free service before it began to fail; I will not buy one again.
Not impressive!

This is a replacement from the first one which didnt work...this does work but not really impressed. Its pretty rough when its brewing it shakes so bad it moves the cup so u must hold it. And the drip tray? It actually is leaking water into it!! Im thinking this one is going back.!!!! Its not a smooth operating machine..its really loud and rough sounding.
Flimsy
June 18, 2017
Ok but not worth money and time. Parts are plastic and it's flimsy. The espresso cup is very hard to get in place without bending over and looking up. It's very loud! I wanted to try it but now I'm going to spend more and get something with nicer components.
Wish it could heat longer but good for the price

Has trouble heating up milk. Takes 3-4 minutes to get to 140. And normally stops after that. Wish it could heat longer but good for the price. Espresso comes out nicely! My problem now is after 4-5 months the milk frother refuses to work. I bought the 3 year warranty and they just told me to call the manufacturer even though it is past the time allowment. Now I have all this coffee syrups/espresso/pitcher/etc. and a machine that doesn't work anymore. I used to be a barista and clean it after every use, very disappointed now.
Use yours often during your 1st 30 days, to verify its up to par.

Ive used this machine maybe a dozen times in the past 6 wks. You get what you pay for, I guess. Maybe I should've waited and gotten a more midline product. The espresso seems to always be overly bitter. It just tastes a bit off. But I always do a cappucino, so I was hoping the frother would be cooperative and balance out the flavor. However, the frother seems to be malfunctioning. Its properly cleaned each time. But the lights are all blinking and it shut off yesterday during use. Ugh! Waiting on amazon to open so I can open a ticket. Crossing my fingers. I should've used it more during the 1st 30 days.

This is the second ECMP50 I have purchased and both have had the same problem. The porta filter does not rotate into locked position. It will only travel about 30 degrees not 95 degrees to full locked position. This occurs even with no grounds in the basket. I called the company to ask if this is a known problem with the machine. They avoided the question and looked to see if they had more stock to send a replacement ( they had none ).They said to return it to Amazon. I am surprised not to see more complaints about this issue. I tried to make some espresso and found a lot of water was released from the canister into the drip tray below the cup. It comes from the bottom which is why people are experiencing leaks. It seemed to make nice micro foam however I am returning it because of the defect in the filter lock. I am very disappointed because I thought the first one was an anomaly....now I am not so sure.

Had it 9 months. Used it Maybe 20-30 times. Broken! Not sure what it is, but water is leaking from the entire box. No pressure when using it and it machine itself get extreamly hot. Water is everywhere. Real bummer.
"New" machine sent used and broken
July 9, 2017
I paid for a new De'Longhi espresso machine, but received a used one, with clearly visible water stains along the sides, espresso drip stains, espresso grounds in the cracks, and parts of it were sticky. We were going to try to just clean it and use it anyway, but when we turned it on, it didn't even heat up. Very disappointing.

Coffee maker has stopped working after four monts of light duty operarion. We have maintained as per mfg's instructions. If considering purchase of this product, be sure you remember it has only thirty days warranty and it is probable it will not work at all shortly after that because you will be on your own after that.
Unreliable steamer
January 25, 2016
I ordered this machine after traveling in Europe and enjoying the instant espresso options. The first machine I got had almost no pressure for the steamer. It came in spurts or not at all. I requested an exchange. The second machine had more pressure, but shot out a blast of water (around one shot's worth) before doing any steaming, and the steamer didn't heat the milk well at all. The drinks we had always tasted lukewarm at best, and I ended up microwaving them to make them hot. The espresso seemed to work fine, other than the drip decreasing a bit after trying it for a few days, but overall, I decided it wasn't functioning well enough to keep. I won't be trying a third product.

This is not a good one and for the money you would never be happy consistently, I went for the perfecta and that is the one that is consistent and Best Buy, available below retail pricing on Amazon and Sams.. It does it all and has adjustable settings for beans ,heat, strength, heat and volume.. Read and respect the information and care. Do not buy this I never in the ten tries with a perfect hand pac got a creamy top to expresso or even. Got a strong brew, the machine did not force the water well and shook like crazy..The one I mentioned is fully automated with perfection even does a rice out before sitting off and when turning on. Grinds beautifully brews to perfection adjustments easy for perfecta machine.. Do Not Consider This One.. Bad Investment won't let you know what perfection is

NOPE! Dont buy this! Just dont do it!
October 5, 2017
Well... it makes espresso. The frother is absolute crap though. It just spits and hisses at you, and doesn't heat the milk. So far the frother has worked once out of about 8 attempts, and we've gone over the instructions repeatedly, following them exactingly every time.*** 3 weeks of use later***It's mean if out the bottom. Not from the water container. Not from there the container plugs into the machine. But from somewhere on the bottom that I have yet to find. And it's not a little dribble either! It's a full on, losing 1/4th cup every 30 seconds or so (that's being generous on the timing ). Besides that I'm not sure I can get the bottom plastic off to try and repair it, so THANKS Mr. Coffee, for making this crummy machine >:(
Massive leaks after a year of daily use.
September 13, 2017
Things that I didn't like but really didn't matter overall:1. Machine is very loud.2. No automatic shut off at end of shotThe reason I'm giving this one star however is because after about a year, this machine started leaking like nobody's business. It's not that the tray is filling up because the water never makes it to the tray and just leaks from somewhere under the machine. I'm soaking 2-3 hand towels each time I brew 4 shots because it leaks so badly.I've read enough reviews on here to realize this is a common problem with this machine, don't waste your money on it.
failure
September 4, 2017
after going through 2 of these in 4 months i am leaving my review. both machines when brand new work perfect. after about 2 months the pump starts getting weak. at the the 4 month mark the pump barely has enough pressure to brew a shot of coffee. i use a burr grinder set the same the whole time, ive ordered the same beans, nothing changes, they are just not made to withstand the needs of making 1 coffee per day,
Poorly made and very loud

I would advise to not buy this machine! For starters the filter wouldn't even fit into the machine without ALOT of muscle. Second, once I turned it on it sounded like a freight train. I didn't even make a cup of coffee before returning it.
Did not even turn on!

I bought this for my sister and it did not work so I had to return it and got a different brand. I would have thought that these guys were a better maker, but now I know to buy from someone else.
