These are fantastic. I can't get enough of using them. I noticed some reviews saying they only received two knives, but I got three and I love using all of them. They came razor sharp and polished. The ash handles fit right into my hands and allow me to confidently manipulate the blade in different directions. Flexcut makes fantastic carving knives, definitely some of the best out there. The way they become a part of your hand and glide through cuts makes me feel such a direct connection to my work. Highly recommended for any skill level who has yet to experience the value of these instruments.

One thing I've learned about Flexcut knives...they hold an edge that seems to last quite a while under normal carving conditions. Quite stout on even Mesquite and Oak. If it works, don't fix it, right!

This was a gift for my 25 yr old daughter who wanted to try whittling. She's whittled some cute stuff and it has helped her confidence. She is talented.

I really have little basis for comparison but I have found these knives to be very good for carving a puffin out of solid cherry.

Shipping on these was within a few days so was very happy. Very good assortment of Bits. So far have only tried them on Basswood and Cherry relief engravings. They performed very well with Basswood, in fact they performed better than expected for the price.
As for the Cherry, some of the bits struggled with the harder portions of the wood. I'm on my 5th piece and have only seen minimal drop off in performance and that's in the one's use the most.

PROS- Great value, sharpness, variety, Nice beginner to mid-level set, Fits Dremel and other similar Rotary tools.

Cons- #2 and #3 fine tip seemed out of alignment especially #2 which made it difficult to use. Received a replacement. Not the best for harder stocks.

Deep flutes keep my wood free of scorching! Smooth cutting and shaping. For the price, this is a steal!

Bought these for my dremel and needed to shave wood off of my fence post so the gate would close right. Only used one bit as I was expecting to burn through a few of these just for this job. Job was complete with just that one bit and it never dulled. A lot cheaper than the dremel brand bits and just as strong and long lasting. I am happy with the purchase and will be ordering more once I wear these down.

I am very happy with this set and ordering another by next week. I am new to carving, not to art. Actually used this on hardwood to test a few bits and believe me it works. I can just imagine how quick it will go once i get my Cypress knees dried. Hoping to also use this on gourds. Price was right for all these different burrs. Quality wise it feels and works great for me.I use a dremel and have the long extension for my dremel. Fits great since i do have different size collets/sleeves for my dremel. I am actually excited to go into another facet of art. Being money conscience i do appreciate the price and that the quality in my opinion did not suffer.

This took a little while to receive. But, it was well worth the wait. The quality and workmanship is great. These bits are very sharp and there were no machine marks on the blades. They were cut and honed very well. These are a little larger than the typical dremel bit, not too large, just slightly larger. I would definitely buy them again.

I purchased these knives when I became interested in whittling several months ago, and they've really been working well. They arrived sharp and are easy to sharpen, and the thick wooden handle is curved to perfectly fit my hand, easing the fatigue caused by carving. I definitely reccomend this for both beginners and pros!
My only complaint is that I really wish one of the knives had a much shorter blade, it was very difficult to cut smaller details with these blades.

They work well for carving. Honing compound was dried out. Handles feel kind of cheap, but blades are good.

Sharp, crazy sharp, fits well in the hand, the spine of the blade could be a little thicker to reduce the amount of blade flex but once you get used to it is alright. I've tried to carve some bass wood that was kiln dried and I went to a bit thicker and heavier blade for the roughing out. The blades needed a lil touch up before use but that's common with all edged tools.

Knives are very sharp, and work great for my son's whittling, although it is more than he needed just for whittling, unless he starts carving. The reason it is getting 4 stars is because one of the blades came off. We have sent the knife in directly to flexcut, and will be receiving a replacement. I'm not sure if this is because he was using this more for taking the bark off the sticks, but at any rate it is being replaced so I am fine with it.

Very useful for my needs .

I haven't used all the burrs yet but the ones I have work great. Light passes and rotary tool set on low speed. Still about 10x faster than sanding.

Not sure about the quality since these are the first bits I have bought and I only have one other set for engraving.

They seem to be very good, I mostly use them for wood carving and have carved on anything from Poplar to Red Mahogany. After a few heavy uses on harder woods they seem to chip slightly but I have been pretty happy with them. Would buy again.

Great option without spending a lot of cash. I work in a wood shop and do a lot of carving and these have held up through a lot of abuse. No need to buy expensive bits when these do the trick.

The Flexcut knives are great products, comfortable to hold and sharp blades.

Knives work great so far! they cut really smoothly and they fit your hand really well. The reason I took off two stars is because I received my package, it was totally opened. I'm not sure when someone opened it, but the box was open, the plastic wrap was ripped open, and the case was open, but everything was still inside. So not sure whats going on there but I mean I still got them and they are great! Especially as a beginner.

comfortable in your hand. Do not use too much. Not sure how comfortable they would be for longer more frequent use.

good for men, but my wife's hands are a bit daintier than mine, so she doesn't use them. Now their mine!!

Ok for the price. Put a knife, rasp and file in my hands any day. -CD

The shaft on one of the burrs is bent so it can't be used. The others in the set work very well.

Just received the knives. It came in a plastic package with no wooden box as described. Now I will have knives floating around or I will need to make something. I saw the picture on the front but I guess I figured there would also be a box since thats what the description was and what I paid for. Havnt tried them yet so hopefully I will be able to give them a better rating after I use them.

Like others I received the two knife set. Did not bother with the hassle of returning it. Knives are great though.

I bought these a month ago to begin carving. They were great to start with. Very sharp and comfortable in my hand. After a month of light use the detail knife blade pulled out of the handle. It turns out they are only in and inch or so and epoxied in. A quick call to the company got an immediate replacement. The lady said "we have had this problem before". While I will have a new knife I am guessing this porblem will repeat.

My next purchase will be a higher quality product.

The shanks of the bits are not properly sized to fit Dremel EZ shank collet system. They slip inside the collet.

These bits bend very easy and are no good after that. I would not purchase again.

I ordered the 3 knife set, but when the package arrived it was a 2 knife set. I was very disappointed. I returned the set and am worried if I order again the same thing will happen.

Even with a strop the knives just can't stay sharp longer than a week if you're carving anything harder than cedar wood.
X-acto knives last just as long but are a lot cheaper. The only good thing about these knives is that they have ergonomic grips, which helps with the hand fatigue.

I wouldn't really recommend them unless you enjoy sharping knives constantly.

When I received them I started right in . First day one broke. This is a cheap set. You get what you pay for. I guess. I won't be back.

I purchased these knives and had them in hand long enough to start one carving in northern basswood. Within an hour the roughing knife blade fell out of the handle. The detailing knife lasted 5 minutes before it too failed in the same way. Neither blade tang showed any epoxy remnants, leaving me wondering if they even glued them in at all. If they would simply rough up the blade tangs, giving the epoxy something to bond to other than the black oxide coating, and actually USE some epoxy on them then the knives might hold together. Poor quality control and there is no excuse for it. Yeah, they say they will replace them...so what? 2/3 of my knives are out of commission and I will be without them for at least a week. I am a new carver and excited about learning the craft. Without knives I really can't do that.

I just received this order and 2 out of ten were sharp the 8 remaining are not worth the steel they are made of will never buy this product again and can not recommend it to any one what ever happened to made in AMERICA

Not tungsten carbide... Immediately bent on first use. Very soft metal.
