Side by Side Comparison of: Loctite vs Super Glue

After using this to make my daughter’s Hallowe’en costume I’m convinced this is the glue for me (never thought I’d say that). It was so much easier to use than regular super glue- the key is the bottle, which allows for very even and controlled glue application, things my old superglue (I’m looking at you Krazy) was terrible at. Plus it keeps well: My first bottle of Loctite had been sitting in the basement for at least a year, and when I opened it up it was as good as new. There was no clogging or paperclip cleaning required, it just worked like I’d opened it yesterday. Highly recommended, I am now brand-loyal.

I don't review many products, but given the problems many experience with iPad smart covers falling apart--which was why I purchased this--I felt compelled to do a review. Like virtually everyone else who purchases a smart cover, I found it falling apart. Not wanting to constantly replace it, I searched for a glue that would effect repairs yet remain flexible. Loctite Ultra Gel Control Super Glue seemed to be the answer. After using it and having seen the lasting effects of the repair, I can only say I am completely satisfied. Some smart cover areas have unnoticeable repairs, while other repairs are slightly noticeable. After success with that, I've successfully repaired wood, ceramic, plastic articles, and glued vinyl floor tile to wood on a crawl space access lid. Make certain you have clean surfaces and follow the instructions. I've used other "super glues," but this one for me is the best.

I bought this to glue a clay footprint into a shadowbox. It worked really well. Since then we've used it for other projects (wood, plastic) and it has not failed. Good price for a strong super glue. I really like that the applicator is small for more precise work as well. Certainly recommend.

A piece of the wall came off a couple of days ago. Everyone said oh just get a little putty and then repaint, but I said no way. And I got out my little container of Super Glue and I glued that little baby back to the wall. You can't even tell it was ever missing. I am such a fan of this glue!

This is the best superglue I have every used. It dispenses so much better than others I have tried. With others, the containers are so difficult to manage that once you use it, you can never use it again. However, this one, I can use again and again and the dispenser is so well done that I don't get glue all over myself.

Best super glue made. For years I bought/used super glue in those little single-use containers. The tip would always clog after the first use.Then I found this LOCTITE Ultra Gel Control Super Glue 4-Gram. It is a gel, so you are able to precisely control where and how much glue you apply. VERY nice. ALSO, It has a small nail in the cap that prevents the application nozzle from clogging up. It works so good that I was able to use all the glue in the container. I am on my second bottle of this super glue. Recommended.

I just wrote a review stating that I hadn't received the product... well, the shipper provided a photo of the package by my garage side door. I checked and sure enough, it was there. I am so sorry. The batteries have an expiration date of 12/27 the glue is perfect. A+++ I've tried to undo my previous rating. Good folks, good service.

I like having a good supply of super glue, and I like the small packages as sometimes they aren't closed properly and dry out. With the small ones, I always have a back-up.

Did exactly what it is supposed to do, glue stuff together! I really liked that I didn't have to puncture the tubes until I was ready to use them.

This glue is extremely strong, and I used it to repair a coffee mug of mine. The glue holds the plastic very well, and my mug is almost like new now. Barely any glue was needed for the repair, too.

Works perfectly on a small toy i needed to fix. I just had to hold it in place for about 5-10 minutes. I just watched a youtube video while holding it. I'm actually really happy it didn't dry instantly so I had plenty of time to set it in place correnctly.

These are so convenient I'm not sure I could live without them. Not a week seems to go by that I don't need to repair SOMETHING with super glue. I love that I can use one of these and not worry about the glue drying inside the nozzle or cap, rendering it useless for the next time. There is just enough inside of the glue tubes to do most jobs I've ever needed to.

I liked this product and the non drop get but personally if you want something that works on everything and dries faster, then try the "Loctite professional liquid".

it is not a good superglue. It takes forever to dry

It's clear, since it has a greater resistance to impact I thought it would be black. Since it has a high tact rate once the pieces are joined there is very little room to readjust. it has a very short set up time. This gel is thinner than most and will dispense very quickly be careful on how you dispense the glue.

This does take some time and pressure to hold the part that you are gluing in place - until it sets! I was gluing some Holiday Ornaments, and it took some time. Thinking at least 2 to 3 minutes while applying a good amount of pressure. But, once it sets... the hold does seem very tight and reliable. Of course, had much glue residue on my finger tips after applying.

Works great, and I love the gel. I hate the clear liquid glues, since one has to steadily and patiently hold the broken pieces together for a long time before the sticking takes place before one can let them go to dry on their own. With the gel, you can stick the items together, and the gel will hold it for you more quickly for the full drying to be completed. The only gripe is that the bottle contains very little gel. After two uses, I think the bottle is nearly empty.

This is the best super glue I have ever used. Stays exactly where you put it unlike others that run all over the place. Sets up pretty fast but the total drying time for me took a few hours therefore I only gave it 4 stars.My main purpose of buying this was to fix my mp3 player. The little nub on the slide power button was worn off. So I layered a few strips of this glue on it and it formed an extension of the button. No worries about it running in the cracks and fusing my button inoperable.

Convienent little packages, sturdy material

This glue appears to take several seconds before the adhesive creates the bond. I used this for a cork project and I had to re-do a few spots, but overall, this glue has a strong hold. It is very runny, so you must be careful.

Have had limited usage. So far, so good. Had done the job. Like the small tubes; bigger tubes have a higher waste factor because it takes a long time before you can use the full tube.

It's so much easier to have smaller containers and not worry about when the tip clogs and dries up. Instead you just open a fresh tube and of course there are a million uses for this dependable adhesive.

Great price and is the real product not some knock off. Good delivery.

Super glue is truly super. It works real well binding together a wide range of materials. The only down side is that the tubes tend to dry out or glue themselves shut if you don't use all of it and let the tube sit around too long. I suggest purchasing small tubes for single use so this won't be a problem.

It glues just fine , but the container isn't worth the price. A regular tube of super glue jel works just as good for less

The gel is great and works very well. I am only giving 3 stars, because there was not of glue in the bottle. For the price, I would have expected much more glue.

Some hold good and some does not (leather)

the super glue works ok. it takes a long time to dry, in my opinion. Also, although it says dishwasher safe on the front, the back specifically says not to put repaired items in dish washer. But works fine for little repairs.

It works great on some heavy glass that I was reassembling but the one I received was just as runny as any other super glue I’ve used. I expected a “gel” to be somewhat thick, slow moving and not runny and since this wasn’t any of those it gets 3-stars but as for the adhesive qualities and the great cap it would be 5-stars if it was just a little thicker.

They are good, but the caps tend to clog and leak... and then my fingers get stuck to the tube.

These work OK, but you could do better at the dollar store since the odds are decent one or two of the might get lost/damaged.

The glue took awhile to bond and wasn't as strong as other super glue

I got this thinking it was a great deal..4 tubes for such a low price. However, once I received them, I realized depending on what the project is you need the glue for, you may end up using one whole tube at a time (as I did for my project) meaning the 4 won't last very long. It's super glue though, so it does hold just fine.

The super glue works fine but it didn't come in a package like the picture depicts . The super glue came in brown paper wrapped around with tape.

This stuff works great, super bond but the big negative is the amount one gets for the price. What a rip. I can glue about 16 inches worth of stuff and that's it. I don't need the fancy bottle and mechanism. Just give me more glue for the money.

Don't be fooled by the size of the bottle - it only contains 0.14 oz (4g), so it won't last long at all. Many other options give you lots more glue for the money. However, the squeeze-to-apply feature works very well.

The top broke off right away

This is usually such great stuff but the side clamps (the ones that you squeeze to get out the glue) broke at the end of the first use. To be fair, I used quite a bit of the glue on the first usage. Overall, a disappointment.

I used it twice, closed it properly, and I can't get another drop out of it. I don't know if it totally dried up, Ive tried sticking a nail down into it in case it dried near the nozzle, but it's useless now. I'm sorry i bought such a large size of super glue. I'd recommend getting those little cheap containers in case they dry up. This container may not be ready for prime time.

Only got one use before the whole thing dried up. Money Waisted.

Use it at one shot after you open it...cuz the tube will totally harden up soon after...thumbs down!

I've used superglue way better than this useless stuff. Way too liquidy and you have to hold it way too long.

Waste of money. Tiny little bottles with cheap caps and cheaper glue. Dries green, for whatever reason.

This did not work for me at all. I tried gluing a handle that broke off a vacuum cleaner (Dyson ugh!) and it held for about five minutes after I applied the entire bottle and let it sit for a day. Maybe it works for non-plastics?

This was really a complete loss as the containers were completely dried up or empty. Not a drop of glue in either one

I must have got a bad batch, won't dry quickly or hold worth a darn.

Useless waste of time. Does not work on plastic for sure. Very disappointing.

It literally doesn't glue anything together which is kind of the whole point

The bottle is designed pretty nicely, you can squeeze as much as you want but it doesnt stick plastic ! My 1 year old son can rip off the plastic from foam, thats the strength of this glue.

Crappy little containers. I put one together very carefully and got the glue all over my hands.

Rip off!!! The glue works great. However there's only about five drops of glue in each of these tubes!

As soon as I popped the top by screwing on the top they began dripping out the side, inside the cap, and all of my fingers. It took all four tubes to get less than half of my project done (sticking bottle caps together in the shape of my state on a 1ft by 1ft board...)

This glues nothing together. I bought it for plastic and it didn't work, so I tried it on other things and it literally worked on nothing.

The super glue exploded all over my desk And pants. Worst packaging ever.
