and there is the perfect cup: )
September 15, 2017
This is the real deal! This is how coffee should be made. There is no measuring lines whatsoever though. You have to just eyeball it. I fill it up to a half inch below the water holes and fill the basket to the brim with coffee grounds. Once it percolates I set the timer for 15 or 16 minutes, and there is the perfect cup :)

This is a well-made percolator. I use it to heat water for tea, make hot chocolate, and of course, make coffee. Very happy with the item and would recommend to anyone wanting a coffee-maker for use indoors and out.
Gorgeous Stainless Steel Coffee Pot
April 28, 2016
Honestly, this is a gorgeous heavy feeling coffee pot. I got it to go in my prepping stuff but I think I will see if I can make a stove top pot of coffee. It has the tiniest lip on the bottom of it and I have one of those glass top stoves so we'll see. If it's profound, I'll probably write about it :) The look of the stainless steel is quite beautiful. It feels quite substantial since I have had an aluminum one many years ago that we went camping with that was super light and bent super easy. I don't think this one will.I read in some of the reviews the importance of not tightening the glass top too much since the metal will expand slightly when heat is up which could cause the glass to break or crack. If you do use it over a fire, I also read in the reviews that you can add a soapy mixture on the outside and that will help with cleaning soot from the outside really fast.I am so happy with my coffee pot! Thank you for offering to us!!!
Nice percolator for the price!
March 30, 2015
This percolator seems pretty well made. It's all stainless. Interior is brushed, exterior polished. Welded handle and spout (hoping welds hold up for years?). Size of mine is not marked on coffee pot anywhere that I can see, which might prove challenging when I use it months from now when camping. Filters do not come with it; would be a nice addition just to add a starter quantity. There is a little lip on the lid, which you have to place near the handle (top) before the lid will seat properly. This locks the lid down during pouring. Also, the knob screws in solidly, so it should also be secure during pouring. This pot seems to be a very good item! Lots of pics for your enjoyment!
Works perfectly for camping!
July 11, 2014
I was a little hesitant because of some of the reviews I had seen on percolators (both this model and others), but I decided to take the leap on this one and am glad I did. The construction of this model is very durable; you aren't going to drop it and have one of the welds on the handle break. The lid fastens tightly and the pour is controlled so it won't spill all over. With regard to the "problem" of the glass breaking, I haven't had any problems with this one. In some of the reviews they talk about the tightness of screwing it on. I've only made it tight enough so it won't fall off, so perhaps that is why I haven't had any problems. If you over-tighten it, I could see it breaking as it heats up and the material expands. With regard to people talking about a plastic percolator glass, the one I received was made entirely of clear glass.
Best coffee maker so far.

This stainless steel coffee percolator makes great coffee everytime. We took it camping the day we got it in the mail. I was so excited... out in the wilderness with our new coffee pot! That first perk was amazing to watch. We bought it for camping, but love it so much we use it at home on the weekends. Yes it takes about 20 minutes to perk on a gas stove, but what a difference in taste and temperature over brewed coffee!! It reminds me of grandma's house with the glass topper. There are many coffee pots on the market that are cheaper, but stainless holds the heat much longer than aluminum,so you do not have to keep reheating the coffee pot. We had a smaller 8 cup aluminum coleman and it did not quite do it for two avid coffee drinkers. We also noticed that many outdoor stores have cheap blue speckled coffee pots with plastic tops... it would never hold up after years of rugged use. We bought an extra glass topper in case the first one cracks... but I read all the reviews prior to purchase and followed the recommendations to back the glass topper off 1/2 a turn to it does not crack. We have used it about 5 times so far, and would recommend filling the coffee basket over the sink so no grounds get in the coffee. We use a finer grind ( Hawaiian coffee)and some of the grounds fall through. You would not have that problem with Folger's , Maxwell House, or one of the medium ground coffees, but we like our Hawaiian coffee. You get what you pay for. I Love this coffee pot!

Mind the top!

Great peculator but the glass top broke exactly 31 days after purchase.
Cool retro look
March 2, 2016
It a nice looking pot and the coffee is good. I have not broken my top as others have stated would happen. The only thing I don't like is the length of time it takes to bring to a boil and perc. I've waited 30 - 40 minutes for a cup of coffee and when you first wake up that seems like an eternity!! I guess it is the nature of the beast and not the pots fault! Its well made and I have no complaints about the craftsmanship.....
very large pot and very good coffee
January 9, 2015
I am editing this review as my husband showed me how to use the Perkolater. The bottom of the stem inside was bent so I had to bend it back into shape. The coffee was really good. The pot is very large which is okay. I decided to keep it since you just have to make sure the pot is level and that the basket is directly centered inside the pot. If it slides off to the side it will not perk. The way you know it's finished perking is the color changes from a clear liquid to a medium brown color. Keep the temperature under the pot to a medium high. It takes about 10 minutes for good cup of coffee to brew. It's really worth buying. I drink a lot of coffee. It has a much deeper coffee flavor when made with a perkolater than with the drip method.
Makes Great Coffee!
May 29, 2014
I purchased this as a back-up coffee maker for those pesky times when the electric goes down. So far it's worked very well and makes really good coffee. My only gripe with it is that I wish the handle was thicker and there was a greater distance between where you grip it and the pot. Because the pot gets well, hot, and so does the handle - so you need to wear mitts or some other form of protection so you aren't burned when you pick it up. This handle offers little room to accommodate a hand + mitt, and I have small hands!
64 oz of Great Coffee
September 27, 2013
This percolator, when filled to the max (about 1 cm below the filter basket) is 64 oz. It performs great on the stove top and I would bet it does fantastic in camp. gave it 4 stars instead of 5 because while it's a great value for the price, the material is not substantial/heavyweight. However, a lighter percolator for camping trips is to be expected. Overall it am pleased with this and would recommend it as a great value.
Looks and Feels Durable
March 28, 2012
I have to say that I'm impressed with this percolater.Beware the pot is big and can be heavey when full. The handle can be very hot after a fresh brew so always have a pot holder handy. This pot comes with a glass percolator top which is not hallowed out like the old ones. The glass is very thick with just a small indention.Like other reviewer's,we recommend not to tighten the cap( back off 1/4-1/2 turn). We purichased this percolator for the house since an unexpected Ant invasion ruined our 8/month old Cuisinart Coffee maker, that we were absolutely happy with.We don't mind going old school because before we purichased the coffee maker,we had a very old 8cup Coleman aluminum percolator. We are sure that we will get many years of coffee out of this stainless steel percolater.I do recommend getting the proper filters to minimize coffee grounds in your cup.I gave it a 4star because there is no mention of the use of filter's or any recommendatons. All in all we are happy with this purichase.

Not durable
September 26, 2017
I bought this pot for our new camper. It is a nice size and perks the coffee without making a mess all over the stove, like other pots I have used. Unfortunately it is not very durabe. On our 3rd. trip the basket for the grounds bent a little and then broke off completely making the pot worthless now. This is a nice heavy pot with cheap insides.

Nice quality but has no fill line so had to learn how to eyeball the amount of water I needed for the amount of coffee I wanted to make. If you place too much water, you will have grounds in your coffee. Overall not bad.

The glass knob broke after 1 use
Does the job
December 10, 2016
The glass percolator indicator on top of pot broke after couple uses.. but luckily had another from a smaller pot...otherwise it makes coffee wonderfully
Cheap and works but I expected better.
December 3, 2016
It works and is cheap, and those are the only good things I have to say about it. The lid on my unit fits VERY loosely so any time i need to pour coffee I have take it off or the whole top falls off and the very first time this happened the glass knob broke a bit. Some people have complained about it being cheap or fake stainless steal and say their pot eventually rusts but I've had mine for a while now and haven't seen any rust, but it definitely doesn't seem like the highest quality metal. The handle is welded on and I'm wondering just how long it will stay in tact considering the abuse I put this thing through.
Disappointing coming from Coleman....
April 14, 2015
bought this after my Bunn had died twice. Trusting in Coleman to bring me a quality item I was disappointed.First of all the filter tray doesnt match up to the lid they never match up, about 3 weeks into having it the center post in the basket came apart. Then the glass percolation window/handle that sits on top cracked on its thread about 2 days ago... I noticed it when I went to rinse the lid out.You can make a good cup of coffee with this percolator however the quality is crap so have alot of patience and think outside the box when it comes to improvising. If you are looking for quality look else where.

not good for home use
December 26, 2016
ok, not good for home use.
OK only when brewing a full pot of coffee.
July 20, 2016
What I found was it didn't perk enough unless it was over half full. Using the same amount of coffee it made a weak brew. My little old pot still made better stove top coffee. I'll have to try it with a full pot, but I rarely ever need more that 3 cups in the morning for my wife and I.
Little or no percolations
September 16, 2015
As a metal container to hold liquid it works great. As a percolator, not so much. I could not get this pot to percolate. I have an old GI issue pot that works fine, but this thing would probably melt down before the water boiled enough to make coffee. Measurement lines would also be extremely helpful. You have to fill it with a measuring cup to know exactly how much water is added. I just read on other reviews that any amount of water less that 8 or 12 cups will prevent it from percolating. Just because it makes twelve cups doesn't mean I want to make that much each time. Keep looking. Do not buy this one unless you make 12 cups at a time. Build quality seemed fine; it just doesn't work as it should.
Does not work with small amounts of water.
September 1, 2015
This pot is well made and is of heavy construction. The issue is that a percolator coffee pot is supposed to deliver hot water to the top of the basket strainer prior to boiling the rest of the water. Ideal temperature for coffee making is about 180 degrees. I have tried smaller amounts of water other than the 12 cup maximum and the pot simply does not percolate enough water to make coffee so that all the grounds are exhausted. I am about to modify the bottom support of the basket strainer with a couple of more slots for water to be drawn into the center tube for the disbursement of the water to the top of the basket. There is only one slot for this water and it may or may not solve the issue.I would not purchase this pot again at this point.
Would not recommend.
September 26, 2014
Three issues - First is no instructions. Alone that isn't a big deal. The glass top broke on the threading while just sitting there two minutes after it was screwed in. Lastly, there are no markings / lines on the pot itself - makes it a little more difficult to use camping. Given that Coleman is usually associated with camping, not a good thing. Keep looking...
You have to brew at least 8 cups to get decent coffee
January 23, 2013
I had a Corningware percolator that broke. The handle melted off. Apparently, these were recalled 40 years ago for that very reason. Who knew? But it made the best coffee ever. So I knew I wanted another percolator. I chose this one because it was heavy gauge steel with a glass top. No aluminum (alzheimer's contributor) or plastic (taste wrecker), so I bought it. It doesn't build enough steam, heat, pressure or whatever magic makes a percolator work properly to brew a decent cup of coffee unless you want to brew a minimum of 8 cups of coffee, and even that isn't good. I am still shopping. If you would like to buy a used Coleman 12-cup percolator, just let me know.

Now it is useless - unili I get a part replaced
May 21, 2017
It takes over 20 minutes just to perk, and after only two weeks, the glass top broke, Now it is useless - unili I get a part replaced. This was a bad purchase, for sure
NO LID : NO LONGER SUPPORTED
July 24, 2016
Came with NO LID. Coleman no longer supports this product. Beautiful product! But I need a new LID (not knob). I have not been able to find a replacement lid. It doesn't work without a lid.

April 16, 2015
Well, i bought this percolator on March 2014, and today 04-16-2015, i dumped to the garbage, because the bottom of the jar start rusting very very bad, more like it it's no really stainless steel at all, it's only one year old, the rusting start like six months ago, but really wasn't that bad and the coffee wasn't testing bad at all and i was using the percolator around three times or four times per week but today really was too much, so sad.
