Love this affordable heater!!
December 25, 2016
We have 2 Eden Pure (expensive) Infrared heaters that clunked out. I always thought they were the cream of the crop for heaters but so surprised that this more affordable heater works just as well if not better! I bought a warranty it wasn't expensive. The top does get hot so don't keep anything on it or watch out if you have small children. I use it in my bedroom because our heat duct doesn't work in there. Keeps the room warm unless it is an extremely cold/windy winter day then it has difficulty keeping up as any heater would. Overall I am pleased with this heater, had for over a year with no problems. We keep it running 24/7. Not too noisy, I don't mind the background noise/humming of the motor. I like the remote control I can turn it down from my bed if I get too warm or turn it up. Once a month I rinse out the filter in the back it gets clogged with dust and runs better when it is clean. Don't waste your money on those expensive brand heaters this works fine for much less money!

I have electric baseboard and the electricity rates in CT are outrageous. Not to mention the fees and extra charges on top of the electric usage. I do what I can to avoid using the electric baseboard, the main heat source is my pellet stove. But for my finished basement I used a plug in heater. I had a previous model by this brand and I loved it. Also helped dry the laundry I hung to dry. The heating element stopped working after several years of faithful service, so why not replace it with the newer version? Well, I did. This is a great heater. Good size, nice cozy heat. I never had a problem with outlets burning up, but I have replaced them before using this style heater. I would advise you have your outlets upgraded if they're old and have the wiring pinned into the back. They should be looped around the screw of the outlet on the sides in the corresponding terminals. Even after replacing outlets, I had an issue with a Lasko oscillating quartz heater overheating my outlet. Needless to say I stay away from those and only use this type, the infrared heater.
Great heater it totally heated my living area and kitchen!

I live in Florida and sometimes it does get cold i purchased and used this item this past winter, I have 2 central heat and airconditioners on my two story house and most of the time we are in the living room/kitchen most of the day, i decided this would be the best solution for keeping my downstairs warm for the winter without running both units all day. So i set my upstairs on 68 (as heat rises it would not be on all the time, and i completely cut my bottom one off and ran this heater with it heating only the kitchen, and living room. my heating bill actually dropped in half this winter!!! i will be using it again and again and might purchase another for the upstairs and completely cut off my upstairs too!!! i love the remote feature also!
Excellent Area Heater
December 29, 2014
We use it in a basement play area, about 60ftx20ft. Without any additional conditioned air other than 2 vents from the HVAC, the basement seems to stay around 62-65F year round. I was hesitant about other people saying that this was oversold as a large room heater, but it heats up the room quickly, even when set to efficient mode (68F). I can't say how much power it uses, because I only turn it on as needed, however after 1 month of using it, there hasn't been a noticeable change in my power bill.

It's not quiet, but not obnoxiously loud either. It has a fan, it pushes hot air, it does make noise. If you are looking for something super quiet, look elsewhere.

The only very minor drawback is that the remote uses the same frequency as my volume button on my TV and whenever I turn up or turn down the volume, it changes the sleep mode setting on the heater. Not a deal breaker since I can just walk to the TV and change the volume there.

Attached is a picture with the heater in the far north corner.

At this point it is a 5 star product. I would feel more comfortable giving it this rating a year from now as I would know more about it durability. But I really like the product. It does a good job of heating the office space I have. It makes more noise than the previous heater but the noise is not much of a problem or distraction. Now to see how long the product lasts.

The item showed up 1 day early and the packaging was great. No damage. The unit is simple to operate and the performance of it is great. Only thing I would recommend to them is to include batteries with the remote.
I love this heater

I love this heater! We use in in our office and it keeps the room warm without over heating it. I would buy again!
Heats Very Well at 700* F!
March 22, 2016
I've had this heater since Nov. 2015, and it has saved around $60 this winter on the electric bill. It is quiet, and puts out good heat that will heat half of the house in temps down to 40 F. Once it gets colder than this you need the heat pump to start coming on to keep up, but not using the central heat during milder conditions has been a big savings. The thermostat on the unit is a little off, but setting the unit on 73 - 75 does fairly well at maintaining 69 - 70 in a large open living and dining room. I do recommend cleaning the filter at least every 2 weeks, maybe more if you use it constantly. The airflow begins to be reduced as the filter gets dirty, and you don't get enough circulation, and could be why some have the error codes. I've never seen any errors.UPDATE: I tested the heat output with a laser thermometer on high setting to a peak reading of 700* F. That is outstanding. I also tested a CZ 2011 infrared quartz, and it only read just over 500* F
Great heater. I have been using it for a long time and have absolutly NO complaints!!!!
February 7, 2016
I absolutely love this heater. I use this heater to supplement propane heat. By it's self, the heater will keep a large room to temp. with out a problem. The wood on the heater looks amazing and matches the rest of my household furniture. The heater has a 12 hour timer that is easy to use, although I have not had much use for the timer. The heater has great range of temperature settings and the thermostat is spot on with the one for my furnace in my house. I have read other reviews about people complaining about the heater blowing cold air. I noticed that when the heater shuts off after reaching temperature, the heating elements turn off, but the fan continues to blow so it can cool off the elements. This only lasts for a short time. The heater itself does not get hot or blow any heat onto the floor. The four coasters on the bottom of the floor make it easy to move around the house as needed. The heater also has an automatic shut off when the heater goes off balance. I have found that the sensor for it is sensitive, but not so sensitive that it goes off when moving it from room to room. I would recommend this heater to anyone who is looking for an infared heater.
Worked as I'd hoped in our coldest February on record
March 1, 2015
This heater has been excellent in our family room. It's quiet, and I love the ability to set the timer for both off and on. The remote is handy and works well. Most importantly, this heater heats well. Our family room is 20 x 16, and has wide openings to other rooms. The blower motor went out on our old gas fireplace, and it was cold! In fact, this was the coldest February in Buffalo history. This little Lifesmart heater has been a trooper over the past few weeks since we got it. The bonus is that its cool to the touch and has a small footprint. I can't find anything wrong with it, at least not in its first month of operation. Sorry if that makes it look like a review that's too good to be true but this heater, at just under $100, is good and true.

NOTE: I've been using space-heaters obsessively for over a decade...!SO: mine has been on for roughly 6 MONTHS. It heats my entire apartment, though does best with the room it's in. Thermostat on point. Zero automatic shutdowns in 6 months. Not too big a floor footprint, but a large enough casing that you don't worry about contacting any of the dangerous, functional elements. Mine's been next to a bookcase, up against a wall - between 4 & 6 inches - without a problem.
Excellent buy.

Could not be more pleased with this heater! It has been in use for two years with no problems. Placed in the den/kitchen combo, it supplements the wood stove located in the living room. It is effective, efficient, economical to use, sturdy, compact, stays cool to the touch and is safe in use with children and pets near it. Pets include my free run of the house rabbit who likes to stretch out in front of it. CJ.D.16Sep17. Update. Just ordered 2 more of these through Amazon to place between kitchen-utility rooms and hallway between bathroom-bedrooms-living room. My 1st one is still working fine in my den-kitchen combo that has a eating bar separating and my coldest, north facing rooms. Being strategically placed with use of ceiling fans, these 3 units will help keep the cold at bay from floors, water pipes, critters and me. Having had a total hip replacement and facing a 2d, I haven't gotten as much firewood cut as I will need for the winter to keep warm this drafty 63 year old wood house so, my woodstove will be supplementing my heaters this year. For those who wrote less than favorable comments, heater thermostat works as does a wall mounted having a +/-2-4 degree variance for heat or ac. to kick on/off. Just as with any heated element, once heating terminates there is a minute of 'clicking' sound as elements cool. The fan also continues to run for this minute or two after heat shuts off blowing out residual heat and assist in cooling the elements quicker. These are all normal functions and explained in the instructions as is how to set temperature settings and timer and how to set/unset Eco mode. Too easy, at least for this little 64 yr. old widder woman! As for the indicator lights being too bright, no more so than use of a nightlight and serves as a decent one so not to trip over heater in a darkened room. CJ.D.
works well
January 5, 2017
works great. It's smaller than I expected but I didn't read the dimensions when ordering. I have it on my screen porch which is closed in with vinyl. It takes awhile to heat up (it's about 150 square feet) but it's fighting against the outside air. So, I just go out and turn it on a few minutes before I want to hang out there. The remote is nice but you have to leave the unit in the ON position all the time (of course) in order for the remote to work. But, since it's outside, and I'm not using it that often, I go ahead and switch it off on the unit. I had hoped to be able to keep the remote inside and turn it on through the glass window and start it warming but since i don't leave the unit ON, I can't do that. Have to go out in the cold to turn it on. No big deal though. It's a good unit but not sure that it is any better than a Lasko ceramic heater you can get for $35.
Great for travel trailer
October 26, 2015
We are using this in our 30' travel trailer as a supplement to the propane heater. Temps were dropping to the low 30s, this heater kept up so far! Keeping the trailer thermostat at 68 the propane heat hasn't even kicked on. We have been running this electric heater on low with the thermostat set at 70, it seems to run most of the time since the travel trailer doesn't retain heat very well. The form factor was a huge selling point as well, being a lot shorter than the other stand up heaters it was able to sit on the counter and clear the overhead microwave.
Premium Infrared heater w/ remote and programmable time settings
December 8, 2014
The wife is super cold natured and has bought a dozen of the different small ceramic heaters over the years to keep her warm in the living room. None of them do much more that warm her feet at best and none really affected the room tempurature overall. We also tried a few of the other no name infrared heaters and were not happy with their performance and power consumption. This unit is fantastic. It works so well that we have it plugged in on the opposite wall across from the wife and you can feel the warm air coming from it across the room. With the house heat set on 69F we turned infrared heater on in the living room and set it to 72F. In aproximately 20-30 minutes it brought the temp up in the living room to 72F and shut off! This is a legitimate infrared heater and does what it says for the square footage it's designed for. The remote control works like a champ and makes changing the settings to easy when being lazy and watching TV.ECO setting is great to help maintain room temp if you keep your house system set low. The unit is quality construction and I believe will last over the long run.BTW I bought mine through Amazon Warehouse deals for $76 and it listed the conditon as "Very good" and the one I received was in perfect condition IMHO with remote and all paperwork. I saved a decent amount of money and still have a full warranty on the product.I don't know why these people are returning these units because they work as designed for the area they will heat. Heck for that matter I could tell the thing warmed the breakfast area and kitchen area next to the living room in my house and the 1st floor overall.Great little heater that works! Almost forgot. You can program it to turn on and off at certain times which mean you can set it to come on before you get up to warm your bedroom, living room, bathroom etc. to have it nice and toasty in the morning.
Really, really happy with this heater.
January 13, 2013
Last winter, I owned a Lifesmart heater that was nearly $250.00. It was good, but did not have a timer that allowed the heater to turn on before I get out of bed or before I get home from work. Also, the heater I had a year ago was one of those bigger box heaters. On this site, some guy does a video review where he takes one of the bigger box heaters apart (to prove a point about the quartz), but what it shows is how much space is wasted inside the heater! There must be a thought process out there, where a bigger heater MUST deliver more and better heat. Not true, as this heater proves. This heater is compact and delivers the same, if not more heat than the Lifesmart I owned last year. It is encased in hard plastic, but always remains cool to the touch. It easily and quickly adds the needed heat to my apartment allowing me to save on propane. Sure, as mentioned in another review, it beeps when you change the controls. But you know what else beeps? My microwave, my coffee maker, my washer and dryer...the list goes on and on.I love that there are THREE power levels, with a super-saving feature that turns on when the thermostat reaches 68ºF. This heater DOES have the great timer that turns the heat on before I get up and before I get home. LOVE IT! Also, it's a perfectly compact size. After going through SEVERAL Lasko heaters, and the uber-expensive Lifesmart that I bought (and returned) last year, this is by far the best heater I have ever owned for my purposes and would definitely buy another one just like it if I needed it. Also, shipping and delivery was extremely prompt and courteous from this seller (VM Innovations).

Everyone should have one for electric heaters!

As an ex-firefighter, I can attest to how often electric space heaters cause house fires. That very experience occurred to me last week when in the middle of the night I jumped out of bed in full on alarm mode. I smelled burning plastic.Turns out, the girlfriend had tossed her shirt across the room and it landed on top of our electric fan heater. Later in the night, when the heater cycled on it restricted the air flow from the heater which caused the heater to overheat. (not to mention the smell of ironed clothes) When I woke up with alarm bells in my head, the first thing I checked was the heater and when I saw the shirt I thought "ok, thats all it is".. but clothes don't normally smell like burning plastic, so I kept looking around and sure enough, the wall outlet the heater was plugged into was in full on meltdown. This was a bit sobering - we're used to putting out fires started by electric heaters and you never expect it to happen to yourself.I ordered three of these units that same day. After repairing the outlet, I just plugged this in over it. It looks great - the green light is kind of reassuring but for the bedroom, I wish it was dimmer.Regardless I'm happy to know if I'm not home and my girlfriend decides to play peek-a-boo with the heater again, this unit will kill the power before it melts down the house. Also, she now has a fire extinguisher on her side of the bed.

For now I am giving it a three. I received this about a month ago and it worked fine. It was used to warm up a 2 car garage and in my opinion it does that pretty well. I also like how light and simple it is to use. However Its been about 37 days and it completely stopped turning on. It wasn't dropped or damaged at all and Im hoping I can return it and give a second one a shot. If they return it with no problem I would definitely give this a 4.5 until than I will stay at a 3.Ok problem fixed . Works great to me :)
Keeps us snuggly warm at night
December 28, 2016
Does what I had hoped it would and keeps 2 average sized rooms, with a hallway separating (approx 600sq ft total) at a comfortable temperature. I have insulation issues in the upper level of my home and these rooms get very cold in the winter months. No issues with outlets overheating for me as mentioned in other reviews. I use for about 8-10 hr intervals on a 68 degree setting. My only complaint is that it does make a lot of noise when adjusting temperature and when the thermostat kicks the unit on (we use it during the night mostly so this can be disruptive).

Works well and the fan is quiet. The wood of the case is a bit rough though--mine had rough edges and poor staining. This isn't something I would want sitting around my living room for any length of time. However, as I bought it just for temporary use as an emergency heater I'm satisfied.

Great Little Heater
December 16, 2016
I really like this little heater. We need something to take the chill off in our finished basement. Didn't want something permanent or large. This looks like old wood and has enough settings to ensure comfort. The heater has a remote control that works all the functions on the heater. The heater takes a couple of hours to fully heat up the room. We keep it on the ECO setting during the day so it stays at 68 degrees. At night we run it a few degrees warmer while we are watching TV.
good little heater for the price
July 7, 2016
Works good as a supplemental heater, I wouldn't use it as a primary heat source unless it's used in a very small space or your just trying to bump up the temp a few degrees. After using for a couple of winter's, it's still going strong. The "veneer" is my only complaint. Its really just a coated paper with a wood grain look glued to the substrate underneath and the glue loosens from the heat blowing out so the strips above and below the heater output is curling away from the wood underneath. It's purely cosmetic and doesn't bother me much due to the heater staying in my bedroom where no one sees it, but it could be an issue for some.

November 12, 2015
Not impressed by the heat it puts out. But tempartures haven't been that cold yet. I understand it only heats the items in the room not actually throws out heat like a small ceramic heater would. I will update my post in December. Okay it's now January, and the temperatures outside are in the 20's and 30's. I am going to update my rating to 4 stars. You can tell the difference heat wise in using this product, the remote is convenient to raise or lower the temperature settings and turn off the unit. I am giving it only fours stars due to the temperature indicator light is so bright it does brother me at night when using it in my bedroom, it would be nice if you could adjust the brightness but you can't so I just placed a piece of paper over it. One other thing I noticed it draws a lot of power, when I have this unit on and run the sweeper from the same junction box it does cause the electrical breaker to trip, but I haven't seen an increase in my electric bill so far. I would recommend this product.
Great energy saver product
March 4, 2014
I think the product is great. There was no spike in my electric bill like ceramic heaters. The thermostat is able to set a temperature I want. The only thing I am not crazy about the heater is when it reaches temperature, to cool down it blows cold air.

May 19, 2016
I bought this to replace a smaller, louder ceramic heater. I think that this one runs very quiet. But being in my bedroom, I had to use a post-it note to cover the green LED temperature screen because it is very bright in the dark. And the clicking noise it makes when turning off and on can be irritating to those who don't sleep well. Overall a good product, but I think that when it needs replaced I will look into something different.
Overall I love it, though mine doesn't look like the picture
January 3, 2015
Overall I love it, though mine doesn't look like the picture. Its not a cheesy country cottage looking thing like most of them are, but it isn't as modern looking as the one pictured on the product page either. It does what we got it to do. But this thing is LOUD. When its running, the fan is loud enough to make me turn up the TV. A typical 30 minute TV show will require turning the volume up when it kicks on and down when it turns off about 4-6 times. It also makes a very loud beep with every remote or control panel button press. I adjust the temp at night, the beeps wake up my partner. The sleep mode is useless and I think the thermostat runs a bit hot. I have to set it to 68 to get a room temperature of 71.I would buy or recommend to a friend unless I find a better one in the near future.
Not a 12-hour timer, but otherwise good product thus far.
November 6, 2014
This heater was just delivered to our door today. I plugged it in (there is a master power switch on the bottom of the back of the heater, so make sure that's on), turned it on, and it immediately began heating my son's room. The duct work in the house we are renting makes it so that my son's room is by far the coldest in the house, and we've been struggling with how to keep him warm at night, when fleece jammies and blankets aren't sufficient. He's still in the crib, so I'm not worried about him getting out of bed and touching it, so it seems like a safe way to keep him warm at night.Even on the high setting, the fan is pretty quiet. Much quieter than the air conditioner we put in there this summer (we had the opposite problem in the summer - his room was the warmest). It is not, as advertised, a 12-hour timer. I double checked this in the manual - it is a 9-hour timer. That will probably be enough for my purposes, but my son sleeps 12-14 hours each night, so I was looking forward to being able to set it for 12-hours.I'll update this review after tonight, when we put it to the test. Initial results are promising.
Good Little "space" heater
January 14, 2014
This is a nice little space heater. It does warm a "space." It will barely heat a large livingrooom but it's not meant to. Yes, it has a thermostat, but just because you set it to 84 degrees does not mean it will heat a large 58 degree room to 80 degrees. Use some common sense when you read the description...certainly the best aspects of the item are going to be promoted but again, it is a space heater NOT a Central airconditioning system! It heats the bedrooms and bathrooms just fine...a bit loud and the elements "throw" a fairly bright orange lite across the room at night. So you get two for one...a nice little space heater and a nightlight! It does move some air so remember to check and clean the air filters regularly. Also, a 15 amp circuit IS necessary. When the heater comes on, if there are other devices plugged in and operating on that same circuit you'll likely trip the breaker. Notreally a problem though. Plug the heater into a an outlet on a circuit that is not powering any other devices...problem solved!Again...use some common sense and you'll have a nice little space heater for a lot less than an Edenpure of the same specifications.
Excellent heat source
April 30, 2013
I find this heater to be an excellent source for auxiliary heating. It throws a lot of heat and, while not even close to silent, the fan noise isn't bad as such things go. It appears to be well-made, the thermostat works well and the remote is easy to use. We use it as extra heat in our living room, which is at the far end of the heating ducts (forced air heat) and has a lot of windows, so the room cools quickly and warms slowly when the heat cycles back on. It's probably 400 sq ft and open, so a 1500 watt heater is challenged to do much, but this one keeps it comfortable. I'm not sure how it would do if it was the only source of heat - you can get only so much from a 1500 watt heater.Infrared heaters like this are bulkier than ceramic models, so if floor space is a concern you might want to choose a different type, e.g. a ceramic tower model. But if you have a corner this can sit in without getting in the way, it is a good product.
Overall, this small heater does exactly what I wanted.
February 21, 2013
First, it's infared, which I'd not used before. It does "feel" warmer, sitting in front of it when on compared to radiant heaters and seems to warm the room more. Second, and very important to me, when this heater is on I know exactly how much it's costing me to run it, unlike my former oil radiator heater. When running on low at 1000 watts it's using 1 KWh per hour, so because I know I'm paying a total of 11 cents per KWh I can completely control my bill. No more unpleasant "bill" surprises, it's my clear choice. What you cannot do with this heater is choose to run it at a 500 watt setting. There are NOT three power setting choices. When used on the ECO setting it will cycle through 500-1000-1500 watts ONLY after the room temp reaches the factory minimum ECO setting temp of 68 degrees or more. Meaning, the heater may/could run indefinitely on 1500 watts. I wish I had the choice of a lower thermostat setting with ECO. And I wish the timer could be set to BOTH turn the heater on and then after a number of hours turn it off; which cannot be done. The timer will only turn it on OR when already on, turn it off. The fan is powerful for this heater's size and quiet. There is what might be an annoying beep when the heater turns on or off from the timer setting which doesn't bother me (7 younger siblings, I learned to tune out everything I don't need to hear). As other reviewers have noted, all electric heaters use KWh,s to heat. This heater is giving me more direct warmth and control over my cost than other heater types. I would've given it 5 stars if it actually did have a 500 watt setting and especially if the timer turned it both on and then off. It was on sale for $80, which I think is an excellent price for this. I've been using this heater daily now for almost one month in Jan.-Feb. weather, approx. 28* lows-51* highs. Today it's been 33*-35* for about 24hrs. and an ice storm is dropping thick, sleety rain, the heater is working wonderfully and I sure hope my electricity (only heat) stays on. I do recommend this heater.

I mean, it works, there's a green light to indicate that the temperature is ok so I'm guessing this means the device is "doing what's is supposed to" but who knows if it really does what it says it does? there isn't even a sort of a test button like in smoke detectors that will tell you the circuits are working (sorry for the non technical terms here, I'm not an electrician...). So, assuming the device works as advertised, I would say this is a good product. The build quality looks good and the price is ok (this is a 2 pack). I use it with a room heater in the basement so was ok to spend a little more and know that I'm reducing the chance of fire or electrical issues in the basement where sometimes the heater is left unattended, and I hope I will never have to see this device at work.
Okay
March 14, 2017
Seems to work okay but the light inside is larger and more diffuse than I had expected. Makes it look cheaply made.
Very nice, but I got a used
February 3, 2017
got this with electric stove heater because of fire risks with all space heaters. Very nice, but I got a used, (not really, but someone bought it and never took it out of plastic package, which is hard to cut into. the price was half of the brand new one. I paid about $12, but full price would have been a lot for this switch. My husband said we really didn't need this safety plug, but better safe than sorry. We can use it with some other electric heater and electronics where the plugs can get hot as well.
Great other than the light
January 14, 2017
I read the prior reviews about the bright indicator light and purchased it thinking I could put a piece of electrical tape over it and have no issues. The plastic case is thin and the internal light is so bright that even with electrical tape over the front the whole thing glows green like a night light which is pretty annoying when you're trying to keep your room dark. Outside of that it works as advertised.

Not for large rooms
January 20, 2017
Nice design, quality look and feel. The addition of the second remote is a nice touch. It will not however, heat a large room. I bought this to keep me warm in the basement. If I put it directly under my desk blowing on me, it will keep me warm. It will not heat the basement however.
We like it. Does a descent job
December 23, 2016
We like it. Does a descent job, but would be good for a 350sqft are at max. Our family room is around 450sqft, my plan was to keep our central heater at 63~65F, and then use this one in our family room to bring the temperature to 72F there. This can't pull the trick, and after running for 24 hours straight at max settings, temperature in our family room is at 70F. Won't be much economical in the long run.
Warms up great
February 18, 2016
I bought this for our downstairs area, and yes it gets hot, and the fan works great, but I didn't notice a lot of extra warmth throughout the area. It says it was for a large room, but it worked well in a really small room. The features of the box staying safe to touch is GREAT if you have kids and pets. Also, I love that it rolls around. It was worth the buy, just wish it warmed up a bigger space like I thought it would.

Does Not Heat A Large Room Well
January 10, 2017
Unfortunately, this heater does not come close to heating a large room (15x17 or greater) by itself. When it is turned on, it automatically lights up with a temperature setting of 72 degrees. You can change the setting, but it's standard so I usually leave it. Once it reaches that temperature it's supposed to shut off automatically. It has never gotten to that temperature in cooler times. For a smaller, enclosed space, it may work better. It is pretty, though, and is still working after one year.

Pretty Good, Just don't Expect it to Heat a Room
June 27, 2016
Works well enough but definitely will not heat the space it claims. It's great if your cozied up on the couch and have it pointed directly at you. For the price, it serves it's purpose.
Not quite what I hoped for
November 23, 2015
The living room we got this for is a little large, but I am still a little disappointed. The thermostat starts out at 72 degrees even though the room is not 72, but since the heater thinks it's that warm it doesn't heat up. I have to run it on 74 or 75 to get it running. The room does not get that warm, but it does take the chill off the room which is really all I wanted it for--just so that I don't have to jack up the heat in the whole house to make the living room comfortable. I haven't seen an electric bill yet to see if it is more economical--we haven't had the continuing cold weather to need to run it very much. I gave it three stars because I think the thermostat is incorrect right out of the box. Hopefully, the numbers really don't mean anything and we'll just keep running it to take off the chill while we watch TV in the evenings. It does warm the area nicely on the higher settings.

I like this heater
February 24, 2015
First off, I like this heater. It great for a bedroom or parking in front of the couch for a lazy evening. It's safe, the top doesn't get hot, and the grill stays relatively cool. The safety features also work very quickly, unlike some other brands I've tried. That said it's '800 square feet' claim is laughable. Those would have to be ideal conditions; closed room, very well insulated, and no windows. In the real world my bedroom is 210 square feet, two windows, and the Lifesmart Compact Power Plus will stay on, on the high setting, a good portion of the night. It isn't unpleasant to sleep around, the fan is easily ignored and I've never noticed the glow of light when my eyes were closed. It is very directional, so if you want to keep warm you should be prepared to sit still for awhile. It could take hours to warm up an entire room that has any size to it. I probably wouldn't buy again, go with a cheaper ceramic unit.
After 4 months of use, heater now shuts off in the middle of the night for no reason.
December 26, 2014
I Bought this heater about a month ago for my 13' x 14' bedroom that has a 8' ceiling. First thing I noticed was the remote control. Kinda cheap and looks like something from the 70's or 80's. The heater is a perfect size though. Just right for a small room. After reading the directions, I found out the unit must be plugged directly into the wall and must be aprox. 3' away from furniture, walls or other objects. Also, no power strips or extension cords can be used. The unit has a 5' cord which makes it tough to find the right place to put it.The first couple weeks it worked good and provided good heat. I found that you need to have plenty of open space in front of the unit or all the heat will stay just around the heater and never heat the entire room. This caused the thermostat to shut off after only heating up half of my room. The fan is not very powerful which is typical of Infrared heaters. Last night the temperture dropped into the 40's here in So. California and the unit ran all night never getting above 64 degrees. Also, I found the unit to be a little louder than advertised. But this is not a deal breaker. I recommend buying the larger unit and using the LOW settings to ensure proper heat reserving the HIGH setting for larger rooms.

Great little heater, remote control is very small and pretty dinky. have not gotten an electric bill yet. update; i yr in use....its ok but does not heat our med size mobile rv we live in. set it on low pulls 645 kw, @68 degrees setting cannot raise interior room temp over 60 degrees. our temp outside currently is 45 - 50 degrees overnight and 55 * 68 daytime. As expected it draws a lot of power but does not cost as much monthly as our propane central heat with a blower fan.
It works, but...
June 2, 2014
...the front fell off the first time we used it. I don't know where it was made, but I can guess. These are the type of products that used to be made in the USA and worked for decades (much like my Tappan microwave from 1981 that is still going strong) instead of the CCC (Cheap Chinese Crap) that floods our market today.
Wasn't quite what I wanted
November 3, 2013
It heats fairly well, but seems to do what it wants most of the time. You can't always turn it on and off at will as it only responds to the thermostat setting. But I've seen it turn off below the set temperature and above the set temperature (measured with another thermometer). Also, you can't turn it on if it's too recently turned off, e.g. it was heating and then reached set temp so it turned off but you want it to be on longer. And the whole fan still running when it's not even heating thing is pretty absurd. It blows warm air for the first maybe 30 secs but then it's just blowing room temp air for another minute or two after. When it's on, though, it does heat up a typical room pretty quickly--something like 2 degrees in 10 minutes. It's rather wide, so not much chance of being tipped over. And I find the remote to be very handy, albeit some of the button positions could be a bit more intuitive. When it's running, it's fairly quiet--about as much as a PC running at full speed. The button confirmation sound is a bit loud, though. The construction seems about what you would expect for the price; the housing feels pretty solid but there is some rattling around inside.I guess I could recommend it if you just want a set-it-and-forget-it alternative or supplemental to whole-building heating. But if you only need it in a pinch, then this heater is not for you.

Very low to the ground hard to get at and set up for an older person. Used it once and tripped all the switches, my electrician is away for winter so not much help to me. The instructions say to have it on a switch on its own. Where in your house do you have one thing running off its own switch ! Kept it as I can't pick it up on my own to return it. Hopefully electrician can see to it when he returns from Florida. Hope we have a warm winter.
Very little heat
March 23, 2015
I read the reviews before I purchased this item. Many review said that it heated a large area and that it was the only source of heat and it worked well. Some of the reviews said that it produced very little heat. Unfortunately, I received a heater that produced very little heat. It does have a blower, but it seems like the air only heats about 2-3 feet in front of the heater. To be fair, I used this heater in my attached garage during some of the coldest days ever in this area. (Outside Temperatures at -5 to -15 and will chills at -25 to -40). It simply could not raise the temperature in the garage. On the positive side, the garage did maintain its temperature at freezing (which was the ultimate goal with my water pipes in the ceiling). So, I am giving the heater the benefit of the doubt because it was the coldest winter on record for my area. If this was used in a room with more insulation - it may work better. But in an attached garage with no other heat source, it was only average.
Not the Heater for Minnesota!
February 23, 2015
Purchased because lower price than Eden Pure, but it does not put out the heat that the EPure does. Have used Eden Pure for many years and I should have stayed with it. I live in northern MN so maybe the Lifesmart would be adequate in a warmer climate. We're 24 below zero this morning when I know from experience that the Eden Pure would be pumping out enough heat to keep my rooms warm. This one? Not doing the job.
Metal Lukewarm Heat
January 2, 2015
So this is advertised at Large Room. I say Large Cost, Low Heat is more accurate. Three modes, I believe the lowest is 64 or 68degrees, this is your Economy setting. It would work what in a studio apartment? Bought this for a Living room and still not warm. I saw a 6fold increase in Electricity Fees and Useage leaving this on its Middle Fan Setting for 2hrs a day for a month. I believe there are better, and probably, costlier models. This is made and China and not sufficient for my large (small by some standards) room.

Not so silent nights
December 18, 2016
My office is in the backroom of my apartment. It happens to be the one room without any heating vents and as such, gets a little chilly when it's cold. I thought getting an infrared heater would work well in warming up the room. After looking around, I decide on this model based on the price and apparent feature set. I had actually ordered another Lifesmart infrared model, but that one came with loose parts rattling in it and completely work. Additionally, it was a little bit loud. It was a more expensive model, so I decided instead to go with a slightly cheaper model. This time around, no rattling noise. However, the unit is a bit loud. Note that it could be that I'm sensitive to the sound. I also don't always have anything out by way of TV or music when I work. It turns out that the different fan modes (High, Low, Eco) all seem to have the same fan output. And this of course translates to it being noisy. While the unit itself looks nice and fits within the room, I can't tolerate the noise. Since the fan settings don't really do anything, I had to return it.BTW, it does stink when you initially use it. Mind you I only ran it about 10 minute max. You probably want to initially run it in an open area. I got a bit of a headache from it.In all, the 2 points go to the look. It also did seem to heat up the room. Else, it's a bit of a disappointment on the rest of the "craftsmanship" of the product.
Not at all happy
January 21, 2016
I don't know if it was just a bad unit, or this is a typical unit. My problem was that I had it in a small kitchen(approx. 150 sq. ft.) and set to 70 degrees, it would never reach the set temp. (It was not that cold here(SC) yet, so I was not at all happy with the performance.I would like to copliment Amazon for the prompt return info. and ease of returning. I give Amazon an a++ for return procedures. Thanks, Amazon
It's a convection heater
March 20, 2015
I suppose that's a nice looking convection heater.I purchased this item to supplement the heating in my split level house. I have it down in my carpeted 325 sq/ft (13f x 25f) cooler family room where I spend most of my time. It's not an enclosed room, as there's a stairway at the one end that goes up to the main level. I've moved the unit around to experiment, and currently have it at the one end by the stairs, pointing into the room. After 4 hours on high with the thermostat set to 77, the ambient room temperature has gone from 65f to 66f since I've been here, which could be aided by the heat from the TV, lights and myself being in here. The fan is pumping out nice warm air if I'm 3 feet in front of it, which is nice. But sitting on the couch where I'm typing this, 12 feet away, I don't feel any less cold than I was 4 hours ago.It was my understanding that infrared heaters heat objects, cloths, people, etc., whatever the light waves can see. I put a pair of sweat pants 4 feet in front of it, and they're still cold to the touch 4 hours later. So what's it supposed to do again?I'm puzzled by all these reviews on how this unit instantly heats and makes people warmer. Placebo effect? Can my unit possibly be broken... even though it's got the orange glow and blowing out hot air? Not on long enough?I'm tempted to return it, as currently, it's nothing more than a nice looking piece of furniture that uses quartz elements to heat air and blow it out. I could have gotten the same result from a $30 unit.

One of the worst products I've ever received from Amazon the only good thing I can say about this it looks really good and the remote is very responsive it's very easy to move it's very good and well he a small room for sure it will deathly not heat 1500 ft.² it won't reach 80° ever not even the economy setting which is 68° My room is not even 1000 ft.² and it couldn't even hate thatmy room is about 500 ft.² so I purchased this hoping it would do a great job I honestly feel that this is 100% false advertising don't say your product can do something and it doesn't even come close I bought this product after reading some reviews some good some bad I was hoping that the better views were bad units or that they have fixed the problem but sadly they have not if you are looking for a good heater to heat a small room this is awesome but if you're looking for a heater to heat anything over 500 ft.² look elsewhere this is horrible
not impressive
December 24, 2014
Not Impressive Setting the temp is next to useless you can set it to 75 and it will never reach that temp in the small room it's in,. crank it up to 80 an the room will get to 71 The centeral unit is set to 68. The old 1500w oil filled electric rad heater did better on low (600w). Control panel is too bright for the bedroom you will not need a night light. Unit is quiet and looks nice but I needed Heat! The unit is smaller than it appears in the pictures (That is a plus in my book)

October 10, 2015
I ordered this heater September 2015 on Amazon. It arrived damaged, unable to use. I called the manufacturer's tech support (LifePro). They said that the thermostat was likely damaged in transit. They offered to send me a new one with instructions on how to replace and described it as something a layman could do. I told them I'd give it a try. After receiving it and the instructions on how to replace -- much more complicated from what they described on phone -- I have decided to return and get refund. I don't want to take a chance on getting another "broken in transit" item. It's getting colder and I need a working small space heater now!I wish this one had worked.

used this for the in-law suite and it really got the job done. heated fast and a constant temperature when you wanted to regulate. remote control was very convenient. but then 4 months later is just stopped working. and you can only return it for the first two months. They should really stand behind their product if they are going to put something out there. anyone who buys this, should buy the $10 warranty. not sure if i'll choose this next time out of principle, but if so I'll buy the warranty for sure!
Good Heater... While it Lasted
March 31, 2014
The heater did a good job of heating our small living room. It was pretty quiet & it was nice to have a remote to operate it from across the room. With that being said ours just recently broke. A couple of nights ago it just turned off in the middle of the night, my boyfriend got up to check it out & the plug was extremely hot, to the point that he was barely able to handle it & it also smelled like something was burning. After we had confirmed that that was the only source of the smell, we checked out the heater & the rubber had melted around the prongs. The heater itself was plugged directly into the wall, no extension cord. The heater is less than a year & a half old. Seems like a potential fire hazard & I would not recommend this heater to anyone.

January 8, 2017
Small appliances (microwave, space heater) continue to short out the old fuse box despite this device's claims of preventing that. I'd return it but already tossed the packing material. The green on light, which didn't go to red when a heater blew a house fuse, is pretty. NOT RECOMMENDED.
Fine if you also want a very bright nite-light.
December 27, 2016
I bought this to provide some peace of mind because we have an infrared radiant heater in my daughter's room and I wanted some insurance against the cord/outlet overheating. It seems to work just fine. The 2-star review is because the whole thing glows green. I like bedrooms to be dark (Hey! No ugly wife jokes!) This thing illuminates the entire room with a bright green glow that you can't turn off. I have the same issue with any product that has lights or bright displays that remain on. It seems like a very poor design to me.

We started out the night with what would have been a five star review. It heated up our room quickly and efficiently and didn't blow out the circuits in our poorly wired, very old house. But then I had to get up in the middle of the night and couldn't get back to sleep. When I returned to the bedroom a couple hours later, the room was full of a slight burning smell as well as a thin haze of smoke. I had to leave the door open to air out the room. Needless to say, I shut off the heater, reported this to the manufacturer, and will be returning it. Very scary!

I'm never sure what to believe anymore when reading reviews. It's baffling how some, if they're even legit, report to this product being great, when the one I ordered barely heats the space 1 foot in front of it. It is sitting 3 feet away from me right now and all I can feel is cold air passing over me. With my hand 6 inches away from the vent it finally begins feels warm. This seems to be a well-marketed ripoff.

Ok it does not heat 1000 square feet. It barely heats 200 square feet. Perhaps it was tested in some warm climate and I guess that would be fine but way out here in the tundra of Montana? No dice. It will maintain a reasonable tempature if the outside temp is more than 30F. Don't waste your money if you live north of Texas. Plus, after one winter of use, it no longer works.

This worked really well last year. I was very happy with it. I stored it in a sealed container over the summer. I pulled it out to use this winter and it won't work. I paid over a $100 for a heater to only work 3 months. Not a good purchase. Might as well pay for a cheap space heater every year.
BAD REMOTE AND BAD SERVICE
December 24, 2015
This heater works well but has two problems: After less than ONE MONTH, THE CHEAP REMOTE DOES NOT WORK, and the heater comes with an ugly sticker on top (a heat warning that's important) that, when removed, leaves an ugly glue residue on the most visible part of the surface. Even after complaining about the remote, the seller has not contacted me to make things right! I'm deeply disappointed.

Bright numbers make it very conspicuous (UGLY). Wood grain is not even close to any real wood I have ever seen and especially not oak. This fake simulation would be better just a solid color. Tacky and embarrassingly cheap looking. It heats as good as it looks (pitiful). I bought it because it said it would heat 1500 square feet but it barely makes a difference in a 12 x 24 room. In the product description, it was compared to a hair blow dryer in cost to use and heats the room about as well as a hair dryer would.I am very disappointed that this product did not come close to my expectations from the product description. Cheaply made junkThe joke was on me, burned again on an online purchase.
