This has been a good heater this winter. Was first concerned about the vertical design getting knocked over, as we always had the horizontal. That has not been a problem. The older heaters when switching from the high to low setting would shut off one element. This model keeps both elements on, but at a lower heat range.

Everyone in my family is jealous of my new heater. I got it way ahead of time. It was supposed to ship on a Sunday and i received it three days in advance and the weather right now is about 40 degrees Fahrenheit so I was lucky enough to be cozy with this new heater. My family loves it due to the fact that it doesn't have a bright light which burns your eyes when u turn off the lights at night like other heaters which are super duper bright and you have to cover your eyes if you sleep with it at night. This heater is not noisy it's very pleasant to the ear and the light is very dim , however, it will heat your room in less than 10 minutes even when it's on low. I highly recommended it.

I have been looking around fro a space heater that would heat up our connected kitchen and living room and this heater does just that! It does make a bit of rattling from the heating element when it starts up, but the sound fades and starts throwing out a large amount of heat! The rattling is caused when electricity passes in to the quartz crystal and distorts them, but over all it was a great price for a small heater!

This is my 3rd of these heaters. The first 2 are branded "Sunbeam" but they are identical products.First of all you can not beat a radiant heater. There is just no more pleasurable, efficient way to heat,and this model of one of the very best of the affordable radiant heaters.

My pipes froze last year and we accidentally broke TWO of these heaters on the same night! Was not pleased! Tried a few other cheap heaters, and man, just had to go back to the Holmes. We are going to be very careful with it this time! I have bought a few smaller heaters since and they just don't hold up. One of my favorite things about this heater is that it won't trip my fuse box like EVERY OTHER FREAKING HEATER I'VE BOUGHT! I purchased a small heater with a fan, expecting a good output, but I can't run it on high because it blows the fuse. So I get to leave it on low and hope to warm my foot. That does not happen with this one!Love this Holmes heater! Just get it!

I bought this for my step father. He's 86 years old and he's an amputee war vet. He has a handicapped bathroom where he can transfer himself to a shower bench on his own and take care of himself very independently. The only problem is that its cold after you take a shower and he takes longer then everyone else to get himself dry. So this little baby in the corner gets the room nice and toasty before he starts his shower without having to turn up the heat in the whole house.My mother is terrified of fire and wanted me to return it because she thought it was a death trap. So I decided to play a little game with her watching called "lets see what happens". I turned it on the highest setting and took bathroom tissue which is probably the most flammable paper there is and stuffed pieces all into the holes in the protective screen. Nothing happened. It didn't even turn brown or yellow. Seems pretty safe to me.

I have bought several of these heaters over the past few years and have yet to have a problem with one "not working". This heater does a nice job of warming you up and is completely silent. No moving parts (fans). Not to mention it is very inexpensive and efficient to operate. It has two settings - high (800 watts) and low (400 watts.) It's not made to heat a large room - but does a great job in small rooms or if aimed directly at you. Also is great for under a desk in an office. Even has a safety switch that will turn the unit off if it tips over. For the reviewers who received a defective unit, just contact Amazon for a replacement. They have ALWAYS been more than fair with returns or exchanges. Love the heater.

This heater is amazing. It has no fan and the amount of watts it uses is almost half of what most electric space heaters use. But when you sit in front of it you are completely warm. This heater is not going to heat a large room, but it is perfect for an area you are going to be in. This heater will save you huge amounts on your electric bill. I have had this heater for a short time, so I can't address it long term use. Update, I liked the first one so much I just bought another one. I have one sitting in front of me and the other one to the side. It keeps me very comfortable without any other heat turned on in the house.

It's like sitting in the sun on a cold day. I use these and save a lot of electricity. I put it in an adjacent room at night because of the bright glowing. I'll probably never go back to fan forced heaters again. I only use the 800 watt setting on really cold days. Most of the time 2 heaters for 1200 Sq ft. 400 watts is often comfortable. My cats love these heaters & I do too because it is just radiant heat, no fan. I have asthma & I can't use the central heat because I can't breathe with that hot air blowing from central unit. These are great at just warming the room with no fan blowing. All my cats love to lay in front of them. I've ordered 5 of them, one years ago that didn't last too long, but you can't beat the price. One I ordered that arrived yesterday had been used, the box was worn & heater had dents & scratches, returning it today & have ordered replacement and I hope that was a one time mistake.

I moved in December & have been struggling to bring down an extremely high electric bill. A lady at the electric co. suggested I purchase infrared heaters as she did. It actually worked! I bought 2 of these & placed 1 in the hallway near the thermostat & the other in my son's north end room. In the evenings I turn it on low (1 bar) & at night on high (2 bars). I call them bars but they're like long skinny light bulbs. The heaters are totally silent but put out a lot of warmth. Stays cool in the back so can place close to wall out of walkway. Lightweight so easily moved from room to room. One of the two I purchased didn't work at all but when I emailed Amazon (they replied within an hour)! I'd just wanted a replacement heater & they began the process of sending one out right away. I was amazed & thrilled by their speedy, pain free & wonderful service. They even included a link so I could print out a label to return the old one for free. I just packaged it up in the box the new one came in, stuck the label on & dropped it off at UPS. Would have been nice if UPS could have picked it up from my home. Both heaters so far are doing great & I have no complaints what-so-ever and best of all, because they are infrared they use very little electricity & have actually brought my bill down!

This is the second one of these heaters we've purchased. Its quiet and warm. Its quiet because it doesn't have a fan so it works better in a smaller area.

This is a nice heater. It sends a lot of heat. I have had mine for 3 years now and works great. I have purchased 2 more for Christmas gifts and bought one for myself at the office. It is way better than those heat dishes because it actually sends radiating heat and it is immediate, unlike the furnace type products where you have to wait for them to heat up. This is a really nice product and the price is decent. Very satisfied.

Heater works perfectly I have no problems with it warms Myron in 5-10 mins. The living room 10-15 min. It may be sooner depending on room size.

Did what I needed it do do. Heat is fast and blows out so it warms at a distance. I have another one that shuts off too quickly and I have to wait for it to reset, but I think that was because I left it on the bathroom and it got too hot. This one I have been more careful with and it is working great.

As an ex-firefighter, I can attest to how often electric space heaters cause house fires.That very experience occurred to me last week when in the middle of the night I jumped out of bed in full on alarm mode. I smelled burning plastic.Turns out, the girlfriend had tossed her shirt across the room and it landed on top of our electric fan heater. Later in the night, when the heater cycled on it restricted the air flow from the heater which caused the heater to overheat. (not to mention the smell of ironed clothes) When I woke up with alarm bells in my head, the first thing I checked was the heater and when I saw the shirt I thought "ok, thats all it is".. but clothes don't normally smell like burning plastic, so I kept looking around and sure enough, the wall outlet the heater was plugged into was in full on meltdown.This was a bit sobering - we're used to putting out fires started by electric heaters and you never expect it to happen to yourself.I ordered three of these units that same day. After repairing the outlet, I just plugged this in over it. It looks great - the green light is kind of reassuring but for the bedroom, I wish it was dimmer.Regardless I'm happy to know if I'm not home and my girlfriend decides to play peek-a-boo with the heater again, this unit will kill the power before it melts down the house. Also, she now has a fire extinguisher on her side of the bed.

Noisy but works great if you dont run it too long. These heaters make me nervous so best to run only when you are on top of the situation. I've had several of these and they generally lasted a season or two before they die.

High Quality. I had one for 5 years before I decided it was time to replace. It still put out a TON of heat, But the cord became slightly burnt from over use and I figured it was safest to get a new one. This product is amazing. Highly recommended

Works great, a bit noisy and the last set we had stopped working after a month or so... hopefully these last longer. The heat generated is nice because it warms objects rather than the air.

This radiant heater works great when in a large high-bay type area or garage where a typical 'hot air' space heater would just cause a rising column of warm air that just brings in more cold air. as a radiant heater it heats where the infrared lands (me) rather than just heating air. My only warning is that it is poorly packaged so our first was damaged and had to be returned. The damage was not evident on the box since it popped back out, but the protection screen on the heater was caved in. The box on the second unit was also damaged but it was on the back of the heater so the heater survived

I had to send the 1st one back because it was defective. The top heating coil heated up on the 400W setting and I thought this was strange. After a few uses the 800W setting would not work anymore. The replacement one I received has been working fine and the odd thing is that the heating coil on the 400W setting heats up on the bottom. I think this is the way it is supposed to work. So far so good.

We bought this to help keep us a little warm in our Arizona room outside (lanai). It works great I'm sure for smaller rooms that are enclosed, but we have screens to go outside, so the heat doesn't stay in. Unless you're sitting right next to it, you really won't feel the heat (it is not fan-assisted) I'm sure we could place a little fan in front of the elements so it will push the heat around. Overall, it is great for being so small and compact, but just isn't enough to heat the room (but that was expected). I like the safety feature on it. If the unit is not level, or is knocked over, it automatically shuts off..

This little heater is ideal for our bedroom. It runs super quietly and the outer areas remain cool enough to the touch where handling is not an issue. It would be better if it had an adjustable thermostat so that it would cut off and on during the night while we sleep. Remains to be seen if it will still be functioning this time next year but I am optimistic.

I think this is a good heater. I bought my first one last winter (2014) and used it to warm a small sitting room and it is still working in 2015; bought a 2nd one last year as back up and probably will buy another one this year as one never knows when something you like will no longer be available. It warms, it's lightweight, it's not complicated and the price is reasonable. Only improvement would be to (and give this a 5-star rating) put the ON/OFF and Watttage info on the top of the wheel - either add or move. Since I found it more difficult to read on the side, I used a permanent marker to mark settings on the top.

Great space heater. I had this at work and ordered one for my desk at home. It warms the immediate area well. I never use it at the 800 W setting, the 400 W one is just the right temperature. What I like best about it is that it is quite and has no fan, so my papers on the desk don't go flying and I don't have to listen to the noise of a fan. The only thing I would like to see improved is that the 400 W setting should turn on the top heating element - it worked that way on the older model I have at work and that's even better, as I only use it at 400 W and when the lower heating element is on it heats the desk surface area a bit too much, so I need to be careful to not put things directly in front of it. Still the best desk space heater I have seen/tried, and I have tried many.

I received the Optimus H-5511 quartz heater this morning, Very nice little heater. It is lite and has 2 settings, 400 and 800 watts. I used it for 6 hours today, It will heat a small room very nicely. It how ever will not heat up a large room such as a large living room, But for the price it is keeping my 11X10 den pretty warm. It is quiet and at 800 watts it puts out good heat, My other heater is a 1500 watt ceramic heater and will not heat my den as well as this heater does.

Works great once I figured out what was the problem. I took the product out of the box and plugged it in and it didn't want to do anything. Well I shook it a few times and it started working just fine. I think what had happened was the tip over sensor was stuck. Once I shook it loose from being new/sitting somewhere for a while etc. It has been fine ever since heats great low, high and the sensor works great to if it was even to just get tilted the lease bit it shut off.

This unit was exactly what I needed. I just bought a house with a converted garage that is extremely cold especially the last two months and I really wanted to have this as our TV room. I had returned one unit that was bigger, more expensive and didn't do the job, but this one, Large Room Quartz, works great. The only thing I don't like about it is the cord, way, way too short. That really should be corrected.

This is the second one of these that I have purchased. The radiant heat is fantastic to sit in front of!I bought this one used though, and the fan makes a slight ticking sound. Not sure if I am going to return or not.....

Love this Sunbeam room heater. My house has a 5 ton electric heating and cooling system. My husband has been quit ill in the last year and starting into 2 years and he stays cold quite often and it works wonder's for him in the den.

Seems fine, but has never really been really tested. We will see what happens when it turns really cold.

This is a tricky one. I mean, it works, there's a green light to indicate that the temperature is ok so I'm guessing this means the device is "doing what's is supposed to" but who knows if it really does what it says it does? there isn't even a sort of a test button like in smoke detectors that will tell you the circuits are working (sorry for the non technical terms here, I'm not an electrician...). So, assuming the device works as advertised, I would say this is a good product. The build quality looks good and the price is ok (this is a 2 pack). I use it with a room heater in the basement so was ok to spend a little more and know that I'm reducing the chance of fire or electrical issues in the basement where sometimes the heater is left unattended, and I hope I will never have to see this device at work.

Seems to work okay but the light inside is larger and more diffuse than I had expected. Makes it look cheaply made.

got this with electric stove heater because of fire risks with all space heaters. Very nice, but I got a used, (not really,but someone bought it and never took it out of plastic package, which is hard to cut into. the price was half of the brand new one. I paid about $12, but full price would have been a lot for this switch. My husband said we really didn't need this safety plug, but better safe than sorry. We can use it with some other electric heater and electronics where the plugs can get hot as well.

I read the prior reviews about the bright indicator light and purchased it thinking I could put a piece of electrical tape over it and have no issues. The plastic case is thin and the internal light is so bright that even with electrical tape over the front the whole thing glows green like a night light which is pretty annoying when you're trying to keep your room dark. Outside of that it works as advertised.

The Holmes HQH341-HUM does a good job of heating, but there are two negative issues that cost 2-3 stars: 1) The fan is somewhat more noisy than on any other fan-forced heater I've had, and 2) the thermostat is pathetic - it often will not shut off anywhere near the set temperature (it will run and run and run) and the on off differential varies and is very broad. The thermostat shut-off can be set when the temp reaches 73 deg. and it may shut off "close" to that once or twice, and then it may run until 79-80 and I just have to turn it off. If it were not for the good heat output, this one have been only 1-2 stars.

Good heater, but after using for about 1 year it is starting to overheat and shut off sooner than it used to. It either needs cleaned or the thermocouple is wearing out. Good product but would like it to be more reliable long term.

It's nice to have but a friend had loaned me an old radiant ceramic heater that was a better heat producer without the noise of the Holmes Heater fanThe Holmes Tower Heater also produces less heat and the "handle" is really not a handle at all, but just a little indentation in the back of the tower so it's nearly impossible to carry it with the "handle" without using a second hand in the front - which you can't do unless it is cool.

I bought this to provide a little more directional heat in our family room. It is light and has safety bar and automatic switch off if knocked over. It provides a number of heat settings and warms you very well. My only complaint is that it is loud - It has a loud fan that comes on to assist recirculating heat from the rear of the heater. You don't want it on if you are watching a movie. Other than that it works very well

I have twice bought an earlier version of this product, from the same manufacturer. It only used 400 watts at the low setting, but the thermostat failed after about one year. This newer model provides a sizable heat source with a relatively quiet fan. It now uses 750 watts at the low setting, but looks a bit more durable. Has a very sturdy wire and plug that does not heat up much at the low setting. It takes around 1 minute to generate warm glowing quartz tubules. If it lasts longer this time, it will be a worthwhile purchase.

Works decent enough. Don't freeze during cold parts of the year. Can't turn it on high for more than a minute though as it overheats and I have to wait ten minutes before I can get it to turn back on. That goes for both of them that I bought.

I thought this would heat up a larger space. I am using it in my bathroom and today I used it with the door shut. It definitely made a difference by keeping the heat in the bathroom. It gets hot so if you have small kids I'd be leary. I was even worried about my dogs but so far no incidents.

It works as advertised. One problem is that it has duplicate setting making 6 positions (two off, two 400W, and two 800W positions.The label for which positions are for what is on the side so I need good lighting and have to look on the side to see the position labels.In low light levels, since it takes time to heat up the element, I have to wait for the elements to heat up to see what position I'm going to..Solution: Using Sharpies, I made a black line in the grooves next to the arrow for off - A long red line for the 800W and a red dot for the 400W positions.Now I can see which positions I want in low light and from the front of the unit.For little cost in MFG, color coding or Heavy print on the dial edge probably would have been a value added design.The reason, I like Radiant Heat is because my oil-filled radiator (600W-900W-1500W unit) sends to much heat up to the ceiling where it does little good to folks on the couch. This unit focuses the heat exactly where I need it - on me.

I'm not getting the full 800watts when switched to that reading. It automatically shuts off after ten minutes. At least I can 400watts of heat unceasingly (just the lower bar).

I use this in my basement office - in a large area where it is impossible for it to get too hot.When the temperature in the room is 55 or so, it works well on either the 400 or 800 setting.Now that the temp is in the low 60's down here, it's shutting off within 30 minutes (overheat?) - and the room or heater certainly do not seem very hot! I'm in the heating business so I would understand if the unit or room was truly hot.I may end up returning the unit soon because I want to use it in the shoulder season without it turning off. Perhaps the fact that it is built with plastic instead of metal is part of the problem..they have to protect the plastic against higher temps. But when it turns off, the outside is basely lukewarm.

This heater is great for a very small space, but it doesn't work on a large room. It's smaller than I had imagined, and it is smaller than other space heaters I have had.Pros: It's lightweight, quiet, and small enough to fit in many places. It's not too expensive, either.Cons: It doesn't throw off much heat, runs constantly and won't cut off on its own, is awkward to carry, and cost more than the amount of heat it produces. The dial is extremely difficult to see.Details:Although it is light, it is too hot to carry by picking up the sides. You must use a little holder on the back, and it isn't big enough for your fingers to fit in comfortably. It works okay for some extra heat near your chair or couch on a mild day, but it doesn't really make much difference on a cold day. When it's been running for any length of time, you can't touch the outside of it. This makes it hard to change the dial, as the dial is on the side and almost impossible to see without tilting the heater.Overall, I would say it would be a good buy, if the price were about half what it is now.***Edited to say that I have only had this heater 11 days, and it has already gone out. No matter what I do, I can't get it work again. Funny, I kept the original box for a week to make sure it would work, and it dies a few days after I toss the box. And, the price is $13 cheaper today than it was 18 days ago when purchased.

It's noisy and doesn't produce the comforting IR heat I had hoped for.

First thing I noticed about this heater is it is LOUD. The insert says a rattling is normal when it first starts but even after that goes away it is still a really noisy heater. I also thought the handle looking piece on the front was in fact a handle. It's not and it gets VERY HOT so do not touch it unless the heater has been off for a while. If you have pets or children this is probably not the space heater for you because of how hot the front gets and it's easy to tip over because it is quite light. The reason I gave it two stars is it does give out a lot of heat. Needless to say, I'm returning this one.

It was broke when I received it only one temp worked High no low temp if it was not winter where I lived at the time I would have sent it back.

Worked quite nice originally. The fan got louder and louder, rather than "quieter after it warms up" as the description states. After 3 1/2 months of use the thermostat has burned out (I believe). In order to get it to come on for a few minutes, I have to unplug it, then plug it back in. For the money, I would have expected it to last at least a year.

I had this heater on for about 3 hours and never did get warm. You have to be right in front of the heater to feel any heat and only the part facing the heater gets warm. The fan is not strong enough to force the warm air to blow anywhere. I am in an apartment so not a big area to heat and still...didn't work for me.

I purchased two of these, and one of them burned out after only 3 months of use! I used it perhaps 4 hours per night. It just burned out!

first heater i bought stop working in a weeks and i get another in return replace.but this second one also now stop working within one year.it is not that much long duration stable.but the heat it given when it was working was good.

It really is 'whisper quiet.' The bad news is that the day I received it, I had it running for about 30 minutes and then it just died. For no apparent reason. Now I have the hassle of returning it. I will say that I bought another one of these last year and didn't have a problem with it. Totally quiet, though as you can imagine, without a fan, only works well to heat small-ish spaces.

This heater broke after one year. Got in the winter of 2014 and thought it was great.Used it in my office space for 8+ hours a day. But it stopped working in January of 2015. Major disappointment. And I sent an email to there customer service to see if there was any possible fix, but never heard back. So, buy with caution.

I purchased this model for my office as someone else had the same one. It works great at the lower, 400w, power however when I turn it up to the 800w level it will stay on for maybe 10 minutes and then shut off. The manual says it has a shut off if it over heats, the problem is that it will not turn back on for 2-3 hours. Very disappointed that I can not use it in the higher power setting.

I had the older one (recalled one) for a while. It would shut off automatically - I'm guessing it's the safety feature, but eventually will turn back on. After two years, it finally broke, just in time for spring, so I tossed it out.I moved to my new place and wanted a space heater and bought this one, because it was pretty much the same model as the one I had before. Of course, this was after the recall, so I suspect a better product. I've had mine for two weeks and it did the automatic shut-off today. So I wait for it to turn back on and it never did. I looked online and someone said that you have to unplug it and wait 20 secs. I did that and still it won't turn on. It's been at least three hours since it shut off automatically and still will not turn on.I am looking for a replacement now.

Love this sunbeam heater. It is the second one that I have had. Does a terrific job.

This heater has problems

The unit was Shipped in it's original store box. there were many holes in box when it arrived. The heater and it's store box should have been placed into a shipping box. The heater did not work when it arrived. Therefore, the unit was returned. I purchased this unit, because our local doctor's office uses it in the waiting room and they had no complaints.

Looking forward to using this. These do appear to be second hand products, possibly yard sale. Had $3 price tags on them.

Small appliances (microwave, space heater) continue to short out the old fuse box despite this device's claims of preventing that. I'd return it but already tossed the packing material. The green on light, which didn't go to red when a heater blew a house fuse, is pretty. NOT RECOMMENDED.

I bought this to provide some peace of mind because we have an infrared radiant heater in my daughter's room and I wanted some insurance against the cord/outlet overheating. It seems to work just fine. The 2-star review is because the whole thing glows green. I like bedrooms to be dark (Hey! No ugly wife jokes!) This thing illuminates the entire room with a bright green glow that you can't turn off. I have the same issue with any product that has lights or bright displays that remain on. It seems like a very poor design to me.

This heater has already stopped working and was just purchased in September. This is the first product I've bought that was of such poor quality. It makes a humming noise when the temp. is turned up but the tubes never light up or get hot.

I received this heater on Friday, JAN 30, 2015 and am shipping it back today, FEB 1,2015. I don't know what has happened to Holmes Heaters, but this particular mode, and the prior one I'd purchased were both SUB-PAR. This model does NOT cycle on and off, despite my following the instructions to the letter. I attempted this several times. I don't want heater running continuously and the Thermostat was one of my reasons for purchasing the unit. I might understand if I had it running in a large room, but the room in which it was used measures only 10x13!Also, is Holmes now owned by Sunbeam, doing business as Jarden Consumer Solutions, which is on the box? If so, then the quality has decreased immensely. When Holmes was its own company, their products were VERY reliable. I used Holmes heaters for years; they cycled on and off perfectly. I wish I could say that now. I strongly recommend not buying this model unless you want a heater that runs continuously, which many folks may want.

The heater provided very, very poor service it did not function properly. The heater worked for 10 days and then just stop working, it would not come on at all when plugged into the outlet. The heater did not provided the quality of service I expected from a Holmes Heater.

Purchased this heater on 12/22/2012. We used it on really cold nights to help warm up our chilly bedroom. Just got it back out a few weeks ago to begin using it again and last night. I noticed a burning smell when I entered the bedroom and after going over the heater found a nickel sized hole had burned through on the bottom of the heater from the inside out. Not only would this have caused a fire if I hadn't caught it (the floor was already seriously hot) but this heater is less than a year old. For the price we paid, we thought that we had purchased a quality heater that would be around for years to come. Be very cautious if you purchase this product, not worth losing your home or someone's life to a fire.

Like everyone else has said, good little heater until it breaks in a few days or months after you start using it. Mine lasted 6 months.Additionally, mine would never stay on full power for more than 15 minutes. Luckily half-power was usually sufficient for my use.

Don't buy this thing unless you like wasting $$. I made the mistake of buying it and it worked for less than 2 hours and then promptly stopped working. It is garbage. At least I waited 3 weeks for Amazon to fulfill the order.

I'm very disappointed in this purchase. I received this heater on Dec 23rd 2015. I used it fine all of January and then the beginning of this month it stopped working completely. It wont power on and i cant seem to figure out why. My x-bf purchased one of these years and years ago and his still works to this day. That was why i bought this heater in the first place. I don't know if they make them differently now but i definitely expected it to last longer than a month. and now the return time frame has passed and I'm left with a broken heater. very disapointed

Planned obsolescence gone bad. It's such a shame: this is exactly what I wanted and what many other reviewers wanted: a completely quiet, powerful, small, somewhat directional, multi-setting heater. Unfortunately I had three of them break within a month or two of purchase. I bought one and loved it so much I immediately bought another for work. Within two weeks the first one broke. It simply went dead, and never heated up. I thought it a fluke (hadn't read the reviews yet) and returned it and bought another. Then in another couple weeks the second unit broke. Then I came back here and read the reviews. Unfortunately the replacement unit was already on its way. This third unit actually lasted a week beyond the warranty date (I think it was 60 days). Thus three units failing in, on average, about a month. So if you want a one month heater buy two and maybe one of them will make it. I ended up buying one of those stand-up radiator units from Lowes (and paid for the warranty. It's less directional and larger, but it's quiet (no fan), and pretty strong. Two months now. We'll see.

Since there isn't a "not applicable" star rating, I can only give the heater one because it simply ceased to work after about a week of intermittent use. I was so disappointed having taken several winters before finally finding a heater that is small, light and has no fan - I wanted one that is silent and almost all the small ones have fans. This fit the bill exactly.If you want to try it on the chance that I just got a lemon, the good news is that it was perfect while it worked:- heated very quickly, warmed my whole bedroom quickly on 800w and maintained the warmth on 400w- it has a built in handle on back as well as two hooks to wind cord on and it weighs almost nothing so no problem carrying it from place to place that needs a little extra heat or to store on a high shelf (loved the ergonomics)- the grate/screen in front curves back so you don't worry about brushing against it while walking by in case the wire has gotten hot. I would never, of course, keep it on the floor with small children in the house, but the wire screen still doesn't get sizzling like the old radiant heaters I remember - maybe I didn't test that after it had been on for long enough.- it has a tip-over shut off button on the bottom, so if the heater tips over or is not on a flat surface, it switches it off automaticallyAs for me, I found a little one with a fan at the local hardware store, and the bit of noise isn't that much of a bother at 6 degrees. But I still wish the silent radiant one had worked out.

I liked everything about this product . . . however it turned off after 5 minutes of use. I returned it for a replacement. Very sadly the replacement product also turned off after just a few minutes. I returned the replacement also.

Unfortunate for me the unit stopped working the third time used. Probably defective. These dont last long at all. Buy a $20 heater from Lowes instead.

Works good so far...I bought this heater lasted two days...I say you sold me something it was not working correctly...It was sent to me from amazon...It came on stayed off the rest of night had major heart attack and just said it was unfair feeling...

They don't work. I had purchased a few of these for small space heaters. After letting the heater run for about 10 minutes I decided to move it across the room. The plug on these get so hot one actually left burn marks on me when I was testing them.

not what expected

Bought it to use in our motor home with infrared heater. The thing melted/burned up, 3 months later. We have a serge protector on the whole rig...scary... customer service simply said, oh well, it's past Amazon's 30 day return policy...

Doesn't fit any of my 3 prong outlets and I bought 2.

Unfortunately, the plug ended up tripping the heater and turning it off that we had to discontinue using it.

When I received the product it was intact but I could hear to me was broken parts inside of the product. I have used this product and it has done it's job But, it gets hot. I do not overload the circuit that I am using.
