I am very happy with this product. This is the 3rd diffuser I have purchased and definitely the best one. My favorite feature is the auto turn off when it is empty. Product states it lasts for 4 hours, actually, it lasts more like 6-8 hours. Lasts longer if you don't have the light on. Only down side is if you use it in your bedroom at night, the LED on/off button is very bright, and lights up the whole room. I have solved this problem by turning the on/off button towards the wall, that helped a lot.

Its amazing to read some comments here that some people's diffuser broke after X number of uses...I guess I feel very lucky. I purchased mine about 5 years ago at a health food store and it has never broken on me. Knock on wood. Its my first diffuser...I always put in a ton of essential oil and fill to the line with water. I let it auto shut off when its done. Ive never cleaned it....and I have used it a lot. Lately every day. One thing maybe Im doing different that has preserved it is I never pick it up. When I need to fill with water, I use a water bottle with a squirt top to refill that way. I never let anything else get wet other than the water reservoir. Now Im on Amazon looking at new ones only and only because I see so many beautiful new designs and Im kind of bored with this rocket shape. Plus Im not a fan of the huge glowing triangle anymore. I prefer the more sleek wooden designs... Well, I will definitely keep this as a backup just in case!

Purchased two of these already and will likely be purchasing a third any day now.I've always wanted a way to keep my house smelling good over a period of time without going the normal route of plugging all kinds of air fresheners into wall sockets of spraying mists etc, so when I came across the idea of an oil diffuser that can last 4+ hours I was intrigued. I was actually really wanting to find one that lasted 8 hours so it could be on throughout the night while I was sleeping, but I realized that the 5 hours this one lasts still does the job. That said, don't expect this to last any longer than 5 hours, having two of them I know that is the max length of time they will last. At first I was expecting longer, but still purchased a 2nd because again, the 5ish hours did the trick.Now when I leave for the day, or when I go to sleep for the night, I always put this on with my oil of choice and when I wake up, or when I get home from work, I can still smell the lingering scent of the oil I put in it.Also, the color changing is a nice way to set a relaxing mood. It can be pretty bright if you have it in a small room when having it on the color changing option, so if you're trying to sleep you may want to change the mode to the very subtle bluish purple color that is made for night time.If you are looking to purchase a diffuser this is one is great for the price. I'm sure there are better ones out there that last longer, but for the price of those I can get two of these so it was a no brainer for me to go this route and I've been happy ever since.

I'm very happy with this diffuser. I have been using the Now Foods essential oils for a while and have loved the quality, so i thought I'd take a chance on this diffuser and I'm glad I did. Quiet operation, lots of LED colors to choose from, easy to use and clean... there are many reasons to love this perfect little diffuser. I give it 5 stars and highly recommend it.

Easy to use. Only lasts 4-5 hours at the most, but it automatically shuts off when the water is gone. I love that the oils are not heated, but diffused in a cool mist. I am able to put my face close to it to inhale the oils more thoroughly when appropriate. It is nice to be able to enjoy the rotating colored lights, push the button for your favorite color to display continuously or push the button again for no lights. It is very quiet. Made for a small space, like the bedroom, bathroom (enjoy during your bath) or kitchen. I love to diffuse citrusy oils for energy while cleaning or doing the dishes. I recommend this diffuser for a quiet, relaxing experience. The bonus Rose Hip Oil is a plus and I will order another diffuser soon!

When I got this diffuser, I was excited about it. It was a pretty good price from what I know about just shopping around online. I am new to essential oils and diffusing them, so I wanted to buy an inexpensive model to get started before I commit to buying a $100+ model for a bigger space. (And I have to save up, that's a big investment for me!) I chose this one because the reviews were mostly positive for a diffuser under $50. I read all the directions that came with it and followed them perfectly. I turned it on, diffusing 4 drops of Frankincense and it began diffusing nicely. I could smell the oil, the mist was fine and cool. About 30 minutes after I had turned it on, I noticed that the light was off and it wasn't diffusing any more. The directions say that it will auto shut off when the water gets down to a certain level. I checked the water level, and it was almost completely full. Turned it back on and it started diffusing again. I noticed this problem throughout the first day of use: about every 30 minutes or so, I would notice that it had turned itself off again. Rather than immediately return it to Amazon, I decided to try the customer service number. I was connected with a real person after a few minutes on hold. I explained the problem. The customer service rep told me that it will run "UP TO 8 hours, but it should definitely diffuse for at least 3." She said that she would send me a new one. I asked if I should send my current unit back to them. She said no, just keep it and dispose of it when your new one gets there. I was overall very pleased with the customer service experience. Hopefully my new one will come soon. I'm planning on keeping this defective one around. It's fine as long as I'm sitting right next to it to turn it back on whenever it shuts down. So besides my unit being defective, here are the pros and cons.Pros:It's almost silent and pretty compact.The lights rotate showing really pretty colors. I like that I can stop on my favorite one or turn the lights off.It is easy to set up and seems like it will be easy to clean, though I haven't done it yet.The shape of it makes it hard to tip over, which is important when you have little kids like I do.Customer service was helpful and very reasonable.Cons: It's small size makes it not very powerful. It would be great for a small office or bedroom, but I have an apartment with a very open floor plan. If you need to diffuse for a big room, I would recommend getting something bigger and more powerful.As others have said, the power light stays on if it's running, and the power light is pretty bright. It might bug you if you are diffusing at night and you want your room pitch black.My star rating is for my specific (defective) unit. If and when I get a new one, I will update my rating.***UPDATE***My new unit came in a few weeks. When it got here though, I didn't even take it out of the packaging because I had gotten my original unit to work. I cleaned it as per the directions using 1oz water and 1oz white vinegar. I let the mixture sit in the diffuser for about 20 minutes, then wiped it out with a Q-tip, focusing on the white disc in the center. After a few cycles of diffusing and cleaning, it worked its way up to diffusing several hours. I haven't timed how long it works now, but it diffuses at least 5 straight hours. I'm keeping the replacement in the closet in case my original does go kaput someday. I can't use both of them at the same time because they only sent me a base , not a top, and it won't work without the top. I changed my original rating from 3 to 5 stars. I've been recommending this diffuser to everyone who asks me (I now am a product consultant for doTERRA).

This diffuser is very easy to use. Just twist off the top, pour water into the bottom canister until you reach the fill line, and add desired amount of essential oils. I like this one because you can set it to change colors, or you can keep it locked on one color alone. It is aesthetically pleasing and also very functional. It is quiet too, I never notice any humming or buzzing. I just wish this product would run off of batteries (you have to be mindful of where you place this in your home so that you don't have the cord running across your floor as a trip hazard). I would like to have it on a table next to the couch, but my couch is in the middle of the living room so that's not an option for me. Not a big issue, as it seems to spread throughout the room fairly well.

I have 2 of these diffusers, one in each of my kids rooms. They are heavily used, as in nightly and sometimes during the day. They work well and you don't have to use a lot of oil in order to get a nice smell. This is perfect for a bedroom and will fill the entire room with the scent of whichever oil blend you choose. They are small and portable (One made a trip to my parents 4 states away over Christmas) and easy to use. And although not fancy, they don't look out of place or cheap other. They also double as a going to bed nightlight if used in a kids room.On the downside, although I clean the diffusers often, both of them have started to make a loud whirring noise. This seems to fade away after it has been on for a bit. Also, the diffuser only runs for 4-6 hours. You can't set how long you want it to diffuse so you are emptying the reservoir with every use.For the price and ease of use, these are perfect for my kids rooms. I just hope the whirring noise doesn't mean they are on their way to broken land.

Working ok so far (2 weeks) but I'm kind of nervous given the spate of bad reviews saying it dies after a couple months... I've been using it with Now Foods Pine oil and it definitely doesn't last as long as is advertised, maybe 3 hours or so. I haven't noticed any loud noise and have no problems sleeping with it sitting a couple feet away (I can hear my next-door neighbor snoring which is far more intrusive than any intermittent bubbling noises the diffuser makes) The diffuser plus the pine oil got rid of the old past sauce smell that lingered in the apartment thanks to the previous tenant. Happy so far, but I'm keeping an eye out for any malfunctions.

Overall, we've been happy with this diffuser, but ended up having to purchase a second one that better fit our needs (the QUOOZ Lull - lasts all night and covers a larger space). The NOW diffuser works well for a very small area (such as on a desk in an office) and for short periods of time (3-4 hours). We typically kept this diffuser beside our king-size bed on a lamp table on "my" side of the bed, so I had a great experience with it. However, when my husband got a sinus infection, we switched sides to make sure he was getting the full impact of the oils, and I immediately noticed how little of the oils I smelled from the other side of the bed. Considering that's less than five feet from the diffuser, I don't think the coverage can be what it claims, though I'm not sure if smell is the end-all indicator based on my experience using it in a hotel room (see note at end of review). So now my husband uses it in his office (sitting it on his desk), then we put it beside our toddler's crib at night - she loves the changing colors.Our second issue with the diffuser is the light. It states that the light can be turned off, but it never actually goes completely off. I'm not sure why more reviewers haven't mentioned this - perhaps they're not as light-sensitive as my husband - but if you're a person who needs complete darkness to sleep, this diffuser would definitely not be a good fit (for nighttime use anyway) because the "on" light stays on and is a bright blue circle the size of a typical shirt button, so if you sleep beside the diffuser, the light is pretty bright, and the bulb lighting the power light also causes the top cone of the diffuser to stay lit. Probably not an issue for most people, but was an issue for us.A note on diffusers/oils in general for anyone wondering if they actually work. In short, they do! My husband was majorly skeptical of all my essential oil doctoring, but after seeing them quickly cure my daughter's terrible allergies (lavender, lemon, and peppermint) and cure a severe sinus infection I battled while pregnant (myrtle), I was a believer - at least in their topical use. However, I had read that diffusing was the best way for reaping their benefits, so I bought the NOW diffuser because it had great reviews but was cheap, so I wouldn't be out much money if it didn't work. The order arrived on a day we were leaving for a trip with my in-laws, so I packed it because we were all sick with either a very bad cold or the flu. We had to stay in the same hotel room the first night so I put the diffuser on the nightstand between the two beds and ran it all night (refilling it once when it ran out in the middle of the night). The following morning, both my skeptic husband and mother-in-law remarked how they slept and breathed well through the night - as long as the diffuser was running. When it stopped in the middle of the night and again early the next morning, we all noticed how quickly we began to feel yucky again (which also shows that the NOW diffuser has a decent output range, covering the length of the hotel room). My in-laws and husband were all taking prescription and OTC meds - and also got steroid shots - to counter their symptoms, but because I was pregnant, I stuck to essential oils and actually recovered more quickly than they did. So I'm definitely a believer in diffusing now - as is my husband! He actually uses oils and the diffuser more than I do now. I can't say we've had 100% success with all oils we've tried, but the ones that have worked for us have really really worked - better than any medication. Hope this helps!

This diffuser is great. My wife and I have been using it pretty much nonstop for about 3 months, and it's been very reliable.However, the base unit suddenly stopped working a few days ago. We would fill the diffuser and press the power button, the lights would flicker, but the unit wouldn't stay on. I called the company and they are shipping out a new unit, completely free of charge. In conversations with customer service, it sounds like this is not an uncommon issue. But hey, stuff like this happens when you manufacture overseas with cheap material and labor. This is a great price, so I'm not too surprised. I would have given it a 5 start rating if it hadn't broken, but 4 stars as the replacement was absolutely hassle-free.The only other note, when you fill the unit with your water/oil mixture, the oil typically floats on top of the water. As a result, the first few minutes of diffusing provide a great aroma as the oil is diffused. However, after a while, the scent weakens as a large portion of the oil is gone and you're diffusing more water and less oil. Not sure if this is typical of all diffusers, but just am observation.

I am new to the world of EOs and was looking for my first "basic" diffuser b/c I didn't want to shell out $100+ for a fancy one. I took a chance on this one as it got mixed reviews, but I'm happy with it.It's small, light-weight, & made of cheap plastic. There is definitely nothing fancy about it, but it works. I've been using it non-stop (even through the night until it runs out) for the last week and haven't had any problems. I came back here today to order another one b/c I'm tired of carting it up & down the stairs.It does a great job in average-sized rooms. I have an open floorplan on my main level, & I diffuse on the kitchen counter. It doesn't reach the entire downstairs, but it fills the kitchen/family room just fine. In the bedrooms, it works great.The kids like the colored lights, but you can turn it off if you want. It still glows slightly even then, so if you are super sensitive to light when you sleep, you might want to set it somewhere out of eyesight.All in all, I've been happy with it.

We just retired ours, it lasted about two years for us. At the end, it was making really loud buzzing sounds, so we knew it was time for it to go.Overall, it was a good diffuser. Not great.Throughout its life, it would get warm at the base when it was in use, and when I plugged in the unit, every time it would spark a little at the outlet - two reasons I only used the diffuser when I was in the room and I made sure to unplug it every night before bed.One thing I did like about it - it would use up every last drop of water in the tank before shutting off. It was dry when you opened it.It was a good first diffuser, but I did not repurchase. .

I have two of these. They both stopped working after about a month. After several attempts(un-returned phone calls), I got through to customer service, which was another company entirely(Green-Air). They must get lots of these calls. Basically she told me that the reason it stopped turning on is that they now recommend that you clean this after every 2 uses. A water level sensor is at fault. This wouldn't normally be a problem, except that the directions take 24-72 to complete. That said, it did render the unit working again. There are better options out there imo.Per Customer Service:The new policy in regards to cleaning is;Put some very warm water into the base and let sit for 5-10 Min dump out· Wipe the base out with a soft damp cloth please don’t use paper towels or tissues..· Then take a Q-tip around the ceramic disk.· You have to do this 3-4 times after you have done this then…· Then take a Q-tip with rubbing alcohol and go around the disc for two (2) min then rinse one more time .· Please allow to dry for 24 hrs. Then retry with warm tap water no oilsPlease try 2-3 times.

The first NOW diffuser I bought is wonderful so I decided to buy another. The second one I have hardly used. I use it in my classroom and sometimes only use it once a week. I brought it home for Christmas break to clean and use at home. When I tried to use it, it won't work. The lights in the inside turn red and it won't turn on. I've cleaned it out, blew it in to make sure there wasn't any water and plugged my other NOW diffuser into th adapter and it still didn't work. I even cleaned it with vinegar and water and let it sit. Unfortately I can't return it because I've owned it for more than 30 days. I am so disappointed because I spent a good amount of money on it and have hardly used it. I guess they are hit and miss. I won't buy another one, especially since I can't return it now. I will try and contact the company further assistance. I am very disappointed!

When I first got this machine, it worked beautifully. I used Young Living essential oils in it and had no problem. It diffused through the air beautifully and my whole downstairs area smelled great. However, the unit randomly stopped working. I tried cleaning it and starting it again. It still didn't work. Frustrated, I called customer service. They agreed to send out a replacement base and cord at no cost to me. Looking through the review on here, I am skeptical that this will resolve the issue and suspect I will end up calling them again. They told me to hang on to the old base and cord in the event they would want it back for testing. I will update once I get the replacement base and cord. I am starting to suspect that this is a known issue. Beware of this item and know that if you purchase it, it WILL work great for as long as it lasts, but it may only last a month or so.

I actually love this item, but after about three weeks of daily use the base has continued "pulsing" even when the item is off and the base is warm to the touch. I have to unplug it completely.I have tried cleaning it as instructed in the box, even left it unplugged and upside down for a couple days to make sure it isn't the result of water in the system, but it still continues... It is still completely usable, and I still enjoy it, I just have to remember to unplug it after use.

My first one arrived in June 2014 and bit the dust after only 2 months. I contacted the distributor (not NOW, but Greenair - a very small company). They told me that the reason is because the enclosed cleaning instructions are wrong. One should NOT use vinegar to clean, but JUST hot water (I noticed when they sent the replacement one that the manual had NOT been updated to exclude the vinegar as they said it would, however, and perhaps still hasn't been, sigh......) Apparently the vinegar disrupts the mineral content of the water necessary for the machine to work. It took several emails and calls to finally get my replacement, but Greenair eventually did come through. So, USE HOT WATER ONLY TO CLEAN!The replacement has been working fine now for nearly 4 months, and I'm keeping my eyes crossed. To those reviewers who complained about lack of 8-hour diffusion time, here's what I've learned for what it's worth. It all depends on: the mineral content of your water; the temperature of the water (the instructions say tepid, but I've learned that warm - almost hot - works better); and the type, quality and amount of oils you use. I use only therapeutic grade oils which I order from Bulk Apothecary.com I've noticed that some oils (e.g., rose) will diffuse for 6-8 hours while others (e.g., lavender) will only diffuse for about 3 hours.I gave this review 4 stars rather than 5 because I do not yet know how long my replacement unit will last, and I'm not happy that the manual wasn't updated as promised.3/16/16 Update: Well, the replacement unit just died, which means it only lasted 19 months. Therefore I've had to downgrade my rating.

I have had the product for 2 years now and when I turn the diffuser on it makes a really loud sound for about 15 minutes and then moves to a more nuteral sound. The product used to use up the water/oil and turn off after 8 hours. Now the product never evaporates the water, but boils the water and never turns off. I forgot to check on it one day and realized it was on for almost 24 hours and when I opened the container there was still water but it was to hot to even touch.When I first got this product I liked it but now after 2 years I can not use it due to it is a fire hazard.

I ordered two of these on the recommendation of my sister in law. I should have realized she wasn't a full-on diffuser user when it came and wasn't too sturdy. For the "light" user, this might be just right, but we regularly diffuse oils in the house and I need something more industrial to keep up with the volume. This only lasts for a few hours each night but it does have auto-shut off which is nice.My kids loved that it changed colors and we used it for three months before the cord oxidized and wouldn't plug in anymore. This unit requires water since it's a sonic diffuser but it isn't sealed and as such water can (and will) get all over it at some point. I find that a lazy oversight of the manufacturers and will not be recommending this diffuser to anyone in the future.

I've had one of these for a year now and I just bought one for my sister as a birthday gift. It works great and doesn't require too much maintenance. I have no complaints, and I think she'll love it too! The automatic shutoff is a great function, and I like that you can pause the color-changing LED on exactly the color you like, or leave it to do its color-change thing, OR turn it off when it's time for bed. Recommended!***UPDATE 6/16/16 ***I am updating this review and downgrading my rating of it. This worked well for about 2 years...and then randomly, mysteriously broke. That is not satisfactory in my book; I like products that are long lasting. I have to replace it now, and I will be trying a different brand. Can't really say I recommend this anymore. *siiiiigh* Hopefully my sister's one doesn't break too.

Sound: It was very quiet, but not silent, for the first 3-4 months of usage. We probably used it for one fill 3-5 days per week. After that, it's gotten pretty noise. The noise is not horrible but it's too loud to have in the room while you're sleeping unless you have a noise machine on to cover it up and you would definitely notice it in a living room.Diffusing Quality: Good. It does this, even after it got loud but that's not a standout when you don't want to be in the same room with it.Overall Quality: The quality is overall low. There's no reason a diffusers that's well maintained should get noisy after only 3-4 months.From reading a bunch of other reviews, it appears that NOW Foods has changed the actual maker of their diffusers several times. We're big fans of the NOW brand of oils and supplements but that quality does NOT carry over to their diffusers .

It worked great for a little over a month. Now it makes a loud and terrible noise when we turn it on. I have been very careful not to get any water inside of it and clean and wipe is down as suggested. It is so loud we can hear it over a white noise machine.I have called the phone number on the bottom and left a message, so hopefully, I can get it repaired/replaced.

I really really wanted to love this diffuser. I researched forever before finally deciding on this one. It had lots of great reviews, and the price-point was right. I am a new user of essential oils, so I was looking for a moderately priced diffuser that I could use in my home to diffuse oils. As soon as I received it I added the recommended 5 drops of essential oils to the water - (doTERRA brand oils) - and plugged it in. The color changing feature was great - my kids loved this - but the aroma, not so great. I could barely smell anything unless I was standing right over top. I then added 5 more drops, and still, could barely smell anything, no matter the size of the room. I ended up returning this, because I think if I'm adding that much oil and still can hardly smell any of the aroma, it must be defective. Plus, it felt like a waste of these very special oils. Amazon was EXCELLENT, as always, in helping process the return and my refund. Unfortunately, this item didn't work out for me, but maybe I just got a dud. Will be trying a different brand next time.

I purchased this product in March and it sat on my dresser until recently. I used it 4 times for my son and right off the bat, I had trouble getting it to work. When it worked, it was great. Now, it is completely dead. What the hell. I never had to purchase a product plan for a diffuser on Amazon. I needed a product plan for this? This is outrageous. I love and always recommended this brand of essential oils, but I felt so confident that this would be quality that I threw away the box. Don't purchase.

4 times a charm. If you're considering purchasing this product please consider something else. My family and I went through 4 of these in less than 1 year for different family members. This was a good product for the first 2 to 4 months then forget it. It makes loud noises, not enough mist comes out, and will not turn on at all. We really enjoyed it while it lasted, but now it's time to consider something different. After the first 3 stopped working, we wanted a 4th and we really didn't want to purchase the product again, but we figured let's just try it one more time. Well, we did and that was about a month ago and now we have another broken diffuser. We liked the NOW FOODS product line and we said let's just give them one more chance for this diffuser. NOW FOODS, you definitely missed the mark on this one. NOW FOODS please consider making a better product. We are very disappointed in this diffuser.

Worked for about 4 weeks and "on" button broke and there wasn't a way to fix it. Pass on this piece of junk.

***** UPDATE ***** 4/27/15 I no longer feel comfortable using this unit. I must unplug it in order to shut the unit off. If is is left on any residual oil form a scaly charred residue on the ceramic element at the bottom. When left like this and water is added it gives a hiss as the element must contain a fair amount of heat. DO NOT BUT THIS PRODUCT!! As I stated earlier I no longer feel safe enough to use this product in my home.***** UPDATE***** 2/17/15 Although everything mentioned still holds true I have one major complaint. The unit sometimes will not shut off. I will sometimes add a cup of water only to see it begin to bubble and dance, not to the extreme when I hit the power button but still enough to make me question the auto shutoff feature. I hope this does not shorten the life of the unit but that is what I am expecting.Love the ease and simplicity of this diffuser. Emptying and filling takes some care to keep the inner workings free from moisture. I don't understand why they didn't seal around the perimeter of the water cup to prevent water filtration. I will buy another when it goes on sale. Can't go wrong, and my kids love the changing lights.

This thing is junk. I should have listened to all the complaints. I haven't owned this thing three weeks yet and it's already dead. I've used it four times total. Starting the second time, it didn't want to turn on when I tried. I would have to push a few times to get it to turn on. Tonight would have been my fifth time using it but it won't turn on at all. I've kept it clean, followed all the directions and rules. Not only that, unless you're sitting directly beside it, you're not going to smell anything and I have great quality oils. Kicking myself for wasting my money.

Worked great the first two nights but then quit working on the third day. No option to request a replacement so returning.
