BEST COFFEE MAKER EVER!
October 17, 2016
BEST COFFEE MAKER! Seriously, I do a little dance to the coffee machine after purchasing this bad boy. It brews the best home brew I have ever made. My previous makers include, standard drip, percolator and french press. The coffee from this machine is so perfectly balanced and tasty; makes me want another cup now (except I need to sleep tonight). I cannot recommend this coffee maker enough. I hope it last a good long time.
Excellent coffee maker
September 29, 2016
Excellent coffee maker!. I have a preference toward coffee makers that have well thought out ergonomics and simple designs. This one fits the bill perfectly. Everything is accessible from the front (especially the water level) which seems to be rare these days. I love the ability to fill the water tank at the sink vs pouring into the coffee maker and trying to see the level. The programming buttons are big, easy to read and simple to operate. While its a 10 Cup coffee maker it makes as much coffee as most 12 cup machines. Pay attention to the size of the cups measured. The carafe is sturdy, works very well and keeps the coffee hot for hours. The Best thing about this coffee maker is that it brews the coffee at 200 degrees which is optimal and once the brew cycle is complete the coffee in the carafe is close to 170 degrees (which is hot!) Much hotter than any drip coffee maker I've used previously. The coffee comes out smooth and flavorful. A full pot takes about 11 minutes to brew and it does make a lot of noise :) Buy it , you won't regret it. At $137 (Price today) you won't find a better coffee maker
The Honda Accord of Coffee Makers
May 27, 2016
I describe this to my friends as the Honda Accord of coffee makers. For me, it strikes the perfect balance between price, quality and design/ergonomics.Zojirushi says they use BPA-free plastics and after running a few brews through it upon arrival (one with half vinegar, half water) it seemed to be free of any odors-- and I'm sensitive to things like that. It brews at just the right pace and temperature. It can be cleverly disassembled to clean. The clock has a days-long memory- powered by a battery (imagine!), and the cord is nice and long. The coffee is kept warm for a very long time (24 hours can go by and it's noticibly warmer than room temp.) and it stays fresher too. This something I just noticed while using a standard drip machine and glass carafe; the coffee from it oxidizes (?) much quicker and isn't even drinkable 12 hours later. I didn't notice that before when I had one of those brewers. The build quality is very refreshing. I've spent a hundred bucks on the usual crap brands you find in retail stores, just to get the double walled steel carafe, but the rest of the machine is built like a two-cent toy. This machine is very well constructed with quality plastics-- and it's also refreshingly free of frivolous romantic Italian marketing (and the marked up prices that go with that).Like I said, it's like the Honda Accord of coffee makers-- and for me, that's as good as it gets.
LOVE, LOVE
August 7, 2015
LOVE, LOVE, LOVE this coffee maker. We've had 2 other Zojirushi coffee makers and found them to be ok.This coffee maker is truly worth the money we spent on it. The thermal carafe keeps the coffee hot for hours after making it. I drink coffee throughout the day and my coffee is always hot. To brew the coffee takes approximately 10 minutes. The water container on the side is convenient, and the only thing we had to change were the coffee filters. After the coffee is brewed, the cancel button has to be pushed to show the time so that if you want to brew another pot, it is ready. But that is the only inconvenience we found so far. Our last Zojirushi we had lasted only about a year, (the model for $86); and we found that others had the same problem. Also, that model kept spilling water onto the counter when pouring the water into the coffee maker as well as dripping coffee onto the counter because you have to unscrew the lid. So, if you can afford the money, get this model. It has the push button for ease of pouring.
Best home brewed cup of coffee I can remember
July 18, 2015
I picked up this coffee maker on Prime Day as my trusty workhorse Mr. Coffee (also a thermal carafe type) was on Year 7 and its future looked uncertain. I am now sipping the first production from my new Zojirushi and I can honestly say it's one of the finest cups of coffee I have had that wasn't made by a barista. So it passed the delicious test with flying colors, but what else? From a design perspective, there's really nothing not to like about this piece of Japanese engineering. I am pretty nitpicky about the details of gadgets I use every day, so it's rare I to find something that I really can't complain about. But they just got it right with this one:* Large, clear buttons with obvious functions. I didn't need to read the manual to set the clock or the brew timer in seconds.* Well-designed carafe that opens and closes easily and positively. The carafe on old Mr. Coffee was never really quite right. It always seemed like you had to use all your might to push the button to get the coffee to pour, and it came out too slowly.* Water reservoir removes easily for filling and has a nice built-in handle* Battery backup for the clock and brew timer!! Really? Yes. Really. When you accidentally unplug it to use your immersion blender or in-the-egg scrambler, it remembers everything when you plug it back in. That was completely unexpected but very welcome.* Filter basket pops right out for easy cleaning* Uses standard basket filters, my old gold filter from Mr. Coffee works. This is a new product so the only wildcard is durability. But so far, I love it.
Delivers everything it promises

This reviewer buys products from amazon all the time - and rarely submits a review - because most of what we buy is already reviewed thoroughly. Not the case with this Zojirushi coffee maker.Have owned and used the product for two months - and the current results are good as new. Coffee tastes clean and fresh when first brewed. Best thing is - 7 hours later, you can pour some more and it's still warm enough to drink without having to microwave it - and tastes as fresh as first-brewed. It's clear that the thermal carafe is well-designed and well-insulated.We are treating the connection between the carafe and the coffeemaker with care - as if there is a problem-in-waiting it's likely the two pieces that fit together to deliver the brewed coffee to the carafe. We've found that if you depress the "pour" button on the carafe - it lowers the top piece just a little to help it fit into the brewing position. Same advice when you're removing the carafe after brew.Once you've removed the carafe from the coffeemaker, you can leave it separate until you're setting up for the next day's brew. In that way the two pieces described are only engaged twice per day. When you're cleaning the carafe then unscrew the carafe top and place on its side until you re-attach. You can also rinse the top by depressing the spring-loaded button under running water. Doing so causes the water to flow through its interior. The carafe is stainless steel and rinses easily.Remember to pour any coffee out from the previous brew before making more. We forgot once and the next morning's carafe was full nearly to overflowing.Five stars and nothing but praise for the upgrade to our daily coffee consumption. We liked the product well-enough to order a 16-pack of the "Zojirushi Electric Pot / Inner Container Cleaner,(4 Boxes with 4 packets each )". Assuming we clean the machine every two months then that amount of cleaner will last better than two and a half years.

September 1, 2017
Our coffee maker wasn't getting all of the grounds wet when we were using paper filters. We switched to this basket and it solved all of our problems. It's really easy to rinse out and saves us from having to buy paper filters. Yay, Earth!
It's the filter you keep meaning to buy
April 11, 2017
My coffee is tasting better. The flavor is definitely coming through better than with the paper filters I was using. I use it with the Mr Coffee 10-cup coffeemaker with thermal carafe (another good purchase)
Prefect Every Time
December 6, 2016
When buying the Mr Coffee there was no Mr Coffee filter for sale at that store. I got a universal filter which was just 'okay'. The problem with the universal filter was the flow rate. Even when using the strong setting, the water would over flow the filter sometimes getting grounds on the pot. Not a real big deal but come-on, that's what the filter is there for, right? The Mr Coffee filter fits the brewing basket better, stands a-little taller, and flow rate is prefect on the basic settings. I've not yet used the filter for 12-cups yet but the 10-cup work prefect every time.
Perfect
September 22, 2016
Perfect fit for my 10-12 cup Mr Coffee. Easy to clean. Handle makes it easy to remove. Saves on paper filters.
Works Great! I Highly Recommend This Product.
February 25, 2014
I really wasn't sure about purchasing this item. Based upon the reviews I read here, I was concerned about two things. Would there be grinds in the coffee and how hard would the filter be to clean. I have been using this filter twice a day for five weeks and these concerns were laid to rest. Sometimes there is an extremely small amount of residue on the bottom of the cup which is a non issue. Just leave over the last tablespoon. As far as cleaning out the filter, simply run water through it then put it in the basket and rinse it out again. It couldn't be easier.

I will no longer have to deal with fluffing up a paper filter and hope that it doesn't flip down during the brewing process. As you all know this ruins the pot of coffee and you have to hope you have enough time to brew another pot. I will keep paper filters for emergency only and for those rare instances where I brew two pots simultaneously.

This item is a must have and I will never be without it.

Great price on the gold standard of filters. I much prefer these to permanent mesh filters, which leave too much muck in the cup for my taste.

Great Coffee Maker
August 6, 2017
Great coffee maker and the thermal carafe lives up to the Zojirushi capability I was expecting. 24 hours after brewing, the coffee temp is still at 105ºF and just after brewing the temperature is around 165ºF. The water tank is simple to remove fill and install. All aspects of the unit are easy to keep clean. It beeps 5 times after brew cycle is complete and shows ooo in the time display.Minus one star for three reasons: After brewing the display shows ooo and will not show the time until you press cancel. Time is kept whether the unit is plugged in or not which leads me to the second reason. The manual states you should unplug the unit when not in use. Why does this have a timer if this is the case? In any event, I still leave it plugged in and just hit cancel after each brew. I'll unplug it should I expect to be away for an extended time. Third and lastly, the verdict is still out on whether the retail price is worth it or not but only time will tell. I got this on sale, so I'm pleased for sure. I have not had a chance to experience a cleaning cycle but nice to know it'll let you know when it's time. For those reviews about coffee grounds spilling over while brewing I can only offer my observation and suggestion. I noticed that after brewing, the coffee grounds do migrate precariously close to the lip of the filter (disposable). This is a good thing as it tells me the coffee is being suspended for maximum flavor extraction but also tells me if you over fill with coffee, or remove the carafe for too long to sneak a cup, you pose the risk of coffee grounds spilling past the filter. The drain hole seems somewhat small (related to my 'suspension' theory). So it seems to me it can clog easily should coffee grounds migrate to it.One last note...It matches well with my Zojirushi Rice Cooker.
Super HOT coffee!
April 4, 2017
Actually, I love this coffee maker. The coffee is HOT which was not the case in our older Bunn. What you should know ...The thermal carafe keeps the coffee super hot, but is heavy. If you have hand/grip issues, it may be hard for you and you'll need two hands. That's not too much of a problem because the outside of the carafe is cool, so you can handle it.The unit itself fits under a cabinet, but if you have wooden cabinets, you need to pull the unit out from under there because as the water heats there is a huge amount of steam that will flow to the underside of your wooden cabinets, that might, over time warp the wood. If you brew on an open counter top, it's no problem.Did I say the coffee is HOT! This was a major factor for us. I hate lukewarm coffee since I use cream which brings down the temperature and used to require a zap of a fresh cup in the microwave to get it hot again. NO LONGER!.Add hot water to the carafe and let it sit while you fill the water reservoir and the filter, empty the carafe, and brew. It adds a little extra warmth to the pot.(this is optional) I've poured a cup up to three hours after brewing and the coffee is still hot.All in all, this is a wonderful brewer. I'd give it five stars, but thought people should know about the heavy carafe and the steam.Did I remember to say the coffee is HOT?
Exceeded my expectations
November 8, 2016
Have been using this machine for about a week after our 10-year old Capresso grind and brew suddenly gave out. Initially I replaced that machine with another Capresso (the 488.05), but it was so awful I returned it. The very consistent positive customer reviews led me to this machine, although I was hesitant to give up an all-in-one grind/brew coffee maker. My main sticking point was that I didn't want to use a separate bean grinder. Well, the coffee from the Zojirushi has tasted so great just using pre-ground beans (Starbucks Verona stored in a sealed glass container) that I may not even buy a grinder.Pros:- Super easy intuitive use, you could never read the manual and figure out all the functions/buttons very quickly- Carafe design pours without an errant splash and keeps coffee warm long enough for my use- Removable water container with very clear level markings- Opening filter basket and removing water container is designed so well for ease of use that I never have to slide the machine out from under my cabinets to prepare new batch like I had to with my old machine- Coffee tastes great, in fact better than our last machine and that was with fresh ground beansCons:- You cannot turn off the beep noise that is emitted when you press buttons (you can turn off the end of brew cycle beep)- Sliding the carafe back into position sometimes is not as easy as it should be and I find myself having to try a second time with a slightly different angle- Its a tall machine, which may pose an issue if you have low cabinets above your counterOverall, it's exceeded my expectations for a coffee maker and I'm happy I purchased it. If I could turn off the beep it would get 5 stars.
Good solid coffee maker
June 11, 2016
Good, solid coffee maker. This one was actually our second choice. We would have avoided it for the price and 10 cup limitation, but we needed it to vent on the left side (so as not to ruin the nearby cabinets), and our top choice vented on the right. (BTW, our top choice would have been the model that brews "at the optimal temperature"). What I like about this model is the simplicity and workability of the design. Great pot with a good pour spot, release button on the handle, and nice wide mouth for cleaning easily. The lid does not have a positive stop when it gets to the right spot, and it seems a little loose, but has not leaked so far. The basket mechanism works well (got a standard gold-mesh filter, incl. bottom). The water tank is really well designed and easy to handle, clean, and fill. The only drawback is the 10-cup limitation (vs. 12). Regarding the electronics, we leave it plugged in all the time, so that's not an issue despite the warning in the user manual. However, it does need an extra button push to switch from brewing mode to clock mode. That's a circuit design issue that the mfr. needs to correct. Not a problem, just a minor hassle.
Great coffee maker with one flaw
November 12, 2015
I bought this machine to replace a Cuisinart DCC-2650FR 12 Cup which had lasted about 3 years. It was ok but wasn't great so we looked around. My wife normally makes a pot of coffee in the morning and will drink it most of the day so the thermal carafe is excellent for her. One thing she hated about the Cuisinart was how long it took to brew. We had a Bunn years ago so she was always spoiled about the quickness of it. Thankfully this maker brews at a rate of 1 cup per minute which gives you a full pot in 10 minutes. The timer is fairly easy to program and that has helped with having a full pot ready when she stumbles into the kitchen for her first cup of the day. Cleaning is fairly easy but a scrub brush with a handle would make it even easier. Overall it has worked very well except for one thing that kept me from giving this a 5 star ratings. It happened to me about 3 weeks ago and it happened to my wife this morning. The carafe was not pushed into the holder all the way and it brewed coffee all over our kitchen. I do not understand why there is not an automatic shut off if the coffee is not draining into the carafe. It simply spills over the top of the basket holder and down the carafe. The coffee flowed into our cabinets and made for a very unpleasant clean up this morning.Again, it is the best coffee maker we have had in a long time and well worth the price. I will add onto this if anything comes up as we use it.
TOO NOISY. Tasty coffee though.
October 24, 2015
Makes a nice cup o joe.Pros: simple design. Can take water reservoir off to fill it at the sink.No hot plate! The thermo pot keeps coffee warm ALL day! Nice energy savings there.Cons: device does not shut off automatically after done brewing, have to shut off manually (even though there's no hot plate keeping coffee warm). Wonder what that does to heat element staying hot w/o water to heat up?The thing is SO LOUD! brewing is noisy for last 2 cups or so, and then when it's finished brewing it alerts (beeps) 4 times and it's very unnecessarily loud. If I had babies it would surely wake them. Reminds me of oven beeper. For those reasons I deducted a star, otherwise it's a pretty nice coffee maker. Hopefully it will last for years to come!

Worth the $$...
June 26, 2017
Pretty good solution to the daily paper filter hassle. Be careful not to grind the coffee beans too fine as the filter will clog and overflow. Cleaning the filter is a little messy but most users won't mind a few coffee grounds going down the drain. I like the idea that I'm not running my coffee thru a paper filter that has been bleached with Chlorine.

May 5, 2017
Seems a little cheep construction wise, but works perfect. Just be sure to wash it out as soon as you are done with it, before the grounds dry.
Great product if you hate grounds in your coffee!
July 29, 2016
I bought this filter because my paper filters kept collapsing and grounds would get into my coffee. I absolutely hate the feeling of grounds in a cup of coffee. At first I used a paper filter with the permanent filter, but then I needed more grounds to get the same taste (surprise), but with more coarsely ground beans and this filter I was able to get better tasting, groundless coffee! The only drawback was that the filter was slightly smashed in the package. Luckily it straightened right back out. I really love how the handle makes it easy to clean up after the pot is done.
Does the job just fine, annoying to clean
February 11, 2015
I bought this for convenience of not having to always put in a paper filter. I've used similar gold filters like this before in my Cuisinart Coffee maker. The Cuisinart filter had a"V" shape at the bottom. This one is round at the bottom as shown. The sides are gold screen/mesh as show and the bottom is solid black plastic. The Coffee grinds then sit inside and on top of the plastic bottom. So it's not exactly like the water runs "through" the coffee grinds but rather the grinds become saturated at first and then the coffee essentially overflows from inside the filter into the carafe below. It might be better this way as the grounds may be in contact with the water a bit longer and so seep more coffee flavor out. I put flavored creamer in my coffee so most coffee tastes fine to me.

Updated 1/7/17: I used our coffee maker only about once per month for myself and/or special occasions for company. Otherwise we use a Gaggia brera espresso machine daily. So this filter, having a solid plastic bottom/base is just annoying to clean since you can't actually rinse the grounds straight out so it's a game of rinsing-tipping-rinsing-tipping. It's just annoying, nothing else terrible. Still seems to filter and and brews my coffee just fine.
Okay
June 15, 2013
The filter I received DID NOT have a plastic bottom as some reviewers have stated.
Couldn't tell you if this is an original or knock off brand but it is a fine quality and fits my need.
Well worth the price.

My only complaint is that some debris does get into the coffee...
However, I expected that it wouldn't be able to filter as well as paper before I bought it.

We have been using the coffee maker just over a year and suddenly it is leaking from the bottom of the machine with no way to access and see what is wrong. It is still making coffee but half the water leaks out on the counter. While it may be a tube has somehow come lose there is no way to access and fix. I am trying to contact the manufacturer.
The jury is still out due to length of time of owning and using
January 14, 2017
Pros: It makes good coffee and the coffee stays hot. It's easy to take apart and clean.Neutral: Have used the maker only 10 times since receiving it. It makes a maximum of 10 5-oz. cups at a time. If you drink a lot of coffee one pot may not be sufficient. Once you take the pot out there's no sense in putting it back--no warming plate.Cons: It's made in China so who knows what chemicals are leaching through the many plastic parts which come in contact with the water, the grounds, the brew. We ran water through it with no grounds at least 5 times before the plastic odors weren't there anymore. If you are accustomed to a glass carafe through which you can see how much coffee is left, the opaque carafe will be a change. That won't matter if you always make the same amount and keep track of how many you have poured. We're not that kind of coffee drinkers and not being able to tell at a glance how much coffee is left is an inconvenient change for us--opaqueness/transparency of the pot is a feature we never thought about before this maker. I have to say the price is a con, and the entire unit takes up much more space than our old cheapie Mr. Coffee.
Not the quality we expected from Zojirushi - a brand we know
June 21, 2016
I owned my last Zojirushi for almost 5 years and loved it. Didn't consider any other brand when the old one broke. Sadly, this newer model disappoints. Although it brews a really hot cup of coffee, it is slow and noisy. Also the timer is not user friendly and does not display the time once the timer is set, only allows timer to be set in 10 minute increments, does not revert back to clock setting once brew has completed. So although I rate this well on the quality of the coffee it makes, it gets poor marks from us on quality of the actual machine.
Good enough
June 12, 2016
It is a nice coffee maker. It looks elegant. It feels sturdy. It makes good coffee, It keeps the coffee hot for a long time.On mine the cycle doesn't shut off by itself. I have to hit cancel to go back to the clock. The stainless steel carafe is very difficult to clean even with coffee pot cleaning chemicals. It requires lots of scrubbing in a hard to reach interior. I've had to order a better brush than the one I have. If I had to do it again I'd get the glass lined carafe.
Filter Basket Broke after 2 months!
June 3, 2016
Bought this in March of 2016. In May of 2016 the filter basket that holds the coffee filter and coffee broke spilling coffee over the counter. There is a spring loaded mushroom like cap on the bottom of the basket, they call it the drip prevention valve. It consists of about 3 pieces. Well it came apart one evening while cleaning it. Parts went down the drain never to be seen again. I called Zojirushi customer service to explain what happened and to ask for a new filter basket. To buy it separately costs 18.00. Well they were nice enough to state "parts are not included in your warranty" but as a curiosity we will ship you one free basket. Wow, for the price you pay they should make a filter basket that holds up to regular washing without coming apart. I don't know how to keep the replacement together to ensure some kind of longevity but I hope this part holds up. I will say this coffee maker produces a very good cup of coffee I just hope it lasts!

May 14, 2016
I have a Zojirushi travel mug, rice cooker, and bread maker and absolutely love each one and that's why I thought I couldn't go wrong buying the coffee maker. Makes great coffee, it is noisy but that doesn't bother me at all. The coffee just doesn't get hot enough. Did the boiling water thing and that didn't do much. Measured coffee several times as soon as it's poured into mug and it is a consistent 170-172 degrees. Have to microwave my mug every time. Being an admitted Zojirushi fan boy I was a little disappointed.

This might be due to the finest of the coffee grinds (I buy starbucks pre-ground coffee)
January 24, 2017
Solid product and fits right in to the Mr. Coffee GTF2-1. I have had the product now for over 6 months.

The only complaint I have is that it leaves a coffee residue in the pot / cup. This might be due to the finest of the coffee grinds (I buy starbucks pre-ground coffee). If I use a regular coffee filter I don't get any residue.

Cleaning: I empty out my coffee grinds in the trash then I have to rinse out the inside of the basket because there are still some coffee grinds left over.

Your product arrived very quickly and in excellent condition. It is very easy to use and fits beautifully into the machine. The price is fantastic!
The disappointing features are personal rather than mechanical. The taste of the coffee through the gold basket was not the same as with paper filters from my old coffee maker (Gevalia 12 cup). It was somewhat flat. Cleaning the filter was rather a chore as well and I am concerned about the waste of water in that effort. I'm keeping the filter, however, as it will be a great backup when I run out of paper filters.

Should be called "Coffee Screens" not "Coffee Filters"
February 8, 2013
Apparently there are two models of these filters, the one shown in photos above (solid plastic bottom) and the other I received from other seller of this model (cravingsavings). I received a screened bottom (not solid plastic) version similar to this Cuisinart model:

http://www.amazon.com/Cuisinart-GTF-B-Gold-Coffee-Filter/dp/B0001IRRLQ

Maybe the screened bottom is old design, maybe hard plastic bottom is new design or visa-versa...who knows.

Though the GTF2-1 was designed for a Mr. Coffee the filter seals perfectly in my 10 cup West Bend coffee maker.

In a paper filter (besides absorbing coffee bean oils), micro ground coffee particles clog pores of paper fibers and the hot water rises within the paper filter to find open pores to exit from. This “hot water pool” that occurs within the paper filter gives the coffee grounds time to saturate, sink, soak and bloom to release all its flavor before the coffee flavored water exits out the bottom hole in the filter holder.

This does not occur with these types of filters. Openings don’t clog with micro coffee particles so readily, thus the hot water practically runs right through not giving the ground coffee a chance to soak and bloom. Depending on the size of the exit hole in the filter holder and the coffee makers water dispensing spray head pattern (also clogged by minerals or not), water runs through this filter so fast that one can actually have the missed dry coffee grounds leftover after the brewing process. The water doesn't have a chance to “pool”. This is a waste of coffee and probably a weak cup of coffee too. Forget about “Good to the Last Drop”, you wouldn't want to drink what’s left at the bottom…ah…micro coffee sediment particles found!

So I feel, (if one had a choice in the matter) I would probably would have preferred the solid plastic bottom. Anything to slow down the water flow. For those who have large overzealous holes in their filter holders (like myself) stick with paper As for the small amount of “commercially ground” coffee bean oils getting through, it doesn't bother me, but for those who grind their own dark roast beans, concerns may be over watching their LDL cholesterol levels, definitely paper.

In conclusion, unless they can manufacture these with a finer pored screen, these so-called filter (more like “coffee screens”) are handy to have in case one runs out of paper filters. They save you a trip to the store.

Pretty small for 8-12 cups.
December 29, 2016
They say they are for 8-12 cups, but they are pretty small for that purpose. I use them to make 4 cups in my Oxo 12 cup coffee maker, and they work well for that amount. I use the larger Oxo filters when I'm making a larger amount.

I like that the coffee is kept hot by there thermal ...
August 22, 2017
I like that the coffee is kept hot by there thermal pot, rather than cooking it on a warming plate. I will never go back to the warming plate again. The coffee stays hot and good tasting for hours this way. What I don't like is that the coffee maker broke twice in a year and a half of ownership. The first time it broke I just opened it up and found the loose tube and put it back in position, after realizing that sending it in for factory repair would be a huge PITA. But then it broke again (different part) and I just I needed a 10 dollar replacement part, but it was "sold out" for weeks on the manufacturer's site. So now I've thrown the whole thing away and bought something else.

January 21, 2017
Not impressed, have an older Zojirushi EC-BD15, thought an upgrade would be nice, tested side by side with the older one with same coffee, this was weaker, and just didn't taste as strong or as "deep". Water container arrived broken, filter basket rotates out and just doesn't feel very sturdy. Returned it, disappointed with this product, but the EC-BD15 is still going strong.
Fine for 3 months, then leaking for no reason
August 31, 2016
This worked fine (though not the best coffee I've made at home, our preferred machine is discontinued) until this weekend when it started leaking water from all over. We have checked and double checked that the water reservoir is properly seated. I saw another review with this same feedback, so maybe its a defect from a particular production run. We are outside the return window from Amazon and I am doubtful that I can get it replaced by the manufacturer without paying hefty shipping fees. Not cool.
I loved this coffee maker
July 19, 2016
I loved this coffee maker! Why oh why did it decide to start leaking all over the counter? Like other reviewers stated, I had it for less than six months and one day it decided to leak water everywhere from the bottom. I thought maybe it needed to be cleaned, so I followed the instructions to do so. I then ended up with vinegar and water all over my counter. Bummer. It's defective and I don't want to pay to ship to and from for a new one only to risk it happening again. Not worth the cost. I'm sorry to have to give a bad review as it did brew a wonderful cup of coffee. On to finding a reliable coffee maker.
Five Stars
March 22, 2016
Excellent coffee maker. Combination of great tasting coffee and a carafe that actually keeps the coffee hot. HOWEVER, after 2 1/2 months hot water started leaking out of the back of the maker...all over the kitchen. Now, this coffee maker is good enough, when working, that I am tempted to try another. (Full pay as past the return window.)
Pleasant Surprise - until it starts leaking
February 6, 2016
We've used a B&D Space saver coffee maker for years. It made good coffee 'till it died. We decided to try this one based on the reviews, and we weren't disappointed. This thing makes better coffee than the B&D and used fewer grounds. The carafe keeps the coffee drinkably warm for several hours. Easy to put in water and manage the grounds.Update: I had given this a five star, but like another reviewer, mine started leaking internally recently, about year after we bought it. I guess I rented it for $10/month.

August 9, 2017
Grounds end up in coffee. We have worked with amount of grounds but it doesn't let enough water through in our Mr. Coffee 12 cup decanter coffee maker.
Would not purchase again.
April 12, 2017
This was purchase to go along with the PSTX91 Coffeemaker for our son. He says that it filters fine but he finds it leaves a slight metallic taste to the coffee.
I wanted coffee and didn't want to wait on another so I did my best to work it back into shape
March 30, 2017
It works. My compliant was with the shipment. The box is flimsy and when they packed it with the coffee maker and was essentially squashed in transit. I wanted coffee and didn't want to wait on another so I did my best to work it back into shape. It will be forever creased but it works.
Fragile...use with care.
February 23, 2016
Only used it two weeks and it's already in the trash. My finger barely touch the top between the mesh and the plastic and made a hole. I was still able to make it work. Then it happened again only worse on another side. I bought it to keep filters out of the dump and now this "expensive" one has joined them.
nice idea, but too small
February 13, 2016
I thought this would work with my 12-cup Mr. Coffee machine. It fits into the coffee maker well-enough but it's is way too small to make 12 cups, unless you like really weak, bland coffee. The water-soaked coffee grinds spill over the side before the carafe is half full, resulting in a clogged drip path and sludge in the bottom of every cup.

Big disappointment, major leak after two months
September 3, 2016
Because I had a rice cooker I love from this company, I decided to spend the money for the coffee maker. It made good coffee, nothing special, but last night, after only two months of use, I found a puddle of water on my kitchen floor when I went to get my coffee...it has started leaking badly. Sure, it is still under warranty, but you know how that goes, customer has to package it up and send it off to another state for service. It remains to be seen how successful the return and service will be. But come on, only two months of use before it leaked all over my kitchen floor!!
Big Hopes.....Dashed.
May 26, 2016
Purchased this roughly 3 months ago. While it made a good cup of coffee, it was noisy and towards the end stopped making full pots and spilled 1/2 a pot on the counter. At first I thought the top part where coffee moves from the basket to the pot was clogged, but after several days of cleanup, I realized it was clear water I was cleaning....not coffee. Something internal seems to have broken.Too much money to have this happen so soon.
Leaks after 4 months
May 17, 2016
We bought this coffeemaker in January 2016 and it started leaking water all over the counter in May 2016. It was pretty expensive to have lasted only 4 months.
Was an outstanding coffee maker, now not so much.........
May 12, 2016
Makes great coffee. I upgraded from a Krups and this coffee maker does an excellent job. I like my coffee very strong and this machine does a great job at delivering that product at the right strength, but a flavorful cup as well. I have not experienced the "bitter" flavor that some commenters have spoken about. I do love the thermal carafe as it can keep the coffee hot for hours. I love it!UPDATE 11/2016 - Product failed and the manufacturer tells me it will take 2-3 weeks to diagnose the problem and it may not be covered by the warranty. The coffee was good while it lasted. For this kind of money, you'd think they would understand that a coffee machine is a necessary daily device and going without it makes people extremely grouchy. They should just replace it!!!! Now I have to buy a new machine because 2-3 weeks to hear about whether or not they will stand behind their product is totally unacceptable.
Major defect, poor service in otherwise great coffeemaker
March 17, 2016
There are times I hate dinging a product online and this is one of them; this coffeemaker is nearly perfect. Great flavor, brews quickly, stays hot for a couple hours, yet it has a major defect; the brewing basket occasionally backs up and makes a gigantic mess all over the counter. It's simple what happens, a small rubber o ring on the basket valve either gets out of place or gets stopped up with coffee grinds and backs up the basket causing it to overflow. I've contacted Zonirushi twice and once they asked for more info and pics, then I received no response. I contacted them again and still no response. Considering that this item is three times the price of a Mr Coffee, this kind of defect and lack of service is pathetic. I'll amend my review if they ever respond but I'm bit holding my breath. For a similar item, a Cuisinart at half the price won't give you the headaches of this unit.7/3/16 Update; Zojirushi sent us a new spring and a new O ring many weeks after I complained. It behaved itself for about two months until this morning, a hot mess of coffee all over my floor and counter again. I'm done. Tired of wresting with this overpriced piece of junk. Look elsewhere, I know many reviews are good but there are many describing the same problem. If you don't heed this warning, may the odds be forever in your favor....
needs to be replaced after 4 months
March 17, 2016
Initially I purchased this coffeemaker because it has great reviews, but after using it for 4 months, it is broken and needs to be replaced already. The knob on the bottom of the basket came off and the coffee spills all over the counter, cabinets and the floor. I won't be buying another nourish!!!

Leaves sludge at the bottom of the coffee pot.
NO RETURN POLICY
August 14, 2017

USELESS!!
April 4, 2017
I ordered 2 of these for 2 coffee makers of the same brand. It still allows coffee grounds to pass through on both of them.
Useless!
killed my frappe maker!
June 22, 2016
So disappointed! I am a fan of permanent gold tone after i used it in Cuisinart coffee maker. I needed a filter for Mr coffee frappe maker so ordered the filter. It fits poorly and i regret ordering it. After desperately searching for a product review of cafe frappe maker and failing to find one with permanent filter, i decided to write the review to give heads up to all of those who bought a cafe frappe maker and are considering permanent gold tone filter, please DO NOT BUY!
Does not quite fit
October 24, 2013
This filter is not really compatible with the charcoal water filter, which is a part of Mr. Coffee BVMC-SJX33GT coffeemaker. Without the charcoal water filter the coffeemaker does not work right, since the charcoal water filter distributes hot water over a large area. Bottomline: this filter is not compatible with Mr. Coffee BVMC-SJX33GT coffeemaker.

August 7, 2017
Really bad price. Average price is $1/100 count, around $2 for the 200 count. My wife made me aware of this after I was so "proud" of my purchase. Look honey, 400! Only 10 bucks! Whoops!
Flimsy, thin filter.
December 21, 2016
I bought these filters based on the Melitta brand. I expected them to be thicker than the store brand filter. I was very wrong. They are very thin, and short too. The coffee grinds flowed over the top of the filter and into the coffee. Surprised at how poor the quality was. I returned them !!
