Features galore.. wifi and app are amazing.
November 21, 2015
I haven't used the camera a lot but so far I'm very impressed with the Samsung Camera app it will allow you to remotely use the viewfinder with your phone screen and allow you to take a picture with your phone It will also zoom using your phone. Of course your phone must have wifi but all phones have that anymore. This could be used as a remote spying camera if needed. Also the app allows easy transfer of pictures from camera to phone or from phone to camera. The NFC fea ture works well with my Samsung galaxy s5. Camera takes great photos as well. This is a review based on the refurbished unit. Just like new, no issues.
Pleasantly surprised
August 21, 2015
Since this camera was refurbished, I figured it would be dented or scratched, or scuffed in some way. I arrived just like new. It had all the things a brand new camera was supposed to have in the box. After I charged it up, I registered it online, and downloaded the Owners Manual - and there was a firmware update for the camera.I downloaded it directly into the camera with the cable connected to my laptop. Then I started to play around with the camera itself. The flash worked fine. The video function worked fine. I took it all over outside and took random photos. The screen was crisp and clear.I quickly learned what most of all the buttons were for by the second day, and the "viewfinder" on the big screen was different then my old camera. So once I got the hang of it - smooth sailing. In this case, refurbished doesn't mean "junk". I've pleased with my purchase, and can honestly recommend this camera to anyone else - as a beginner or intermediate picture taker.
Good camera, 1st refurb had chronic zoon lense error, replacement unit working great
July 26, 2015
Update:Replacement camera working just fine, incredible pictures and easy to use.Focus on long distance zoom does take some practice and patience, but expected with hand held shots not using tripod.FYI - the first unit came in bubble wrap without original camera box. But did have charger and all cables and small user guide. The replacement one came in original box and again with all accessories. So can expect when ordering might get original box, sometimes not.But camera itself seems good quality.Original Post:Waiting to see how return/replace goes. Out of the box kept giving the zoom lense error - you can google that. Returning for replacement. Otherwise, the two times it opened ok, worked well for handful of closeup and distance zoom test shots. Looking forward to having one that works!
Good Digital Camera for this price range
January 17, 2015
Got this for my daughter as she wanted a good digital camera. Has a lot features and very easy to use even without the manual. Took me like two minutes and I showing her how to use different features. She did have a small complaint about the speed of the camera but said is wasn't that big of a deal.

Look very good
I love the Samsung WB1100F
March 21, 2014
Good afternoon from sunny Orlando, FL. I ordered the Samsung WB1100F in red for my trip to Cairo, Egypt in less than a week, My initial thoughts are as follows:I wanted a camera with wifi so I could post pictures on the run. I have a hotspot so wifi is always available. After opening the box and playing around with buttons I took my first picture. I have the cutest puppy in the world and I need to share her perfect face with the facebook world. I snapped the picture and went to task to post the picture asap! (I hate instruction books) so I fumbled my way through the setup process. I have to say it went rather well. I personally find the camera intuitive. I was setup and logged in to facebook in just a few short minutes. Then BAM! My picture was posted for the world to see.The picture itself was awesome. The zoom is very good and the lens picked up all the adorable features of Chi Chi's face.Again this is just a quick one off review. I will be back in a couple of weeks to tell you all about Egypt and the (hopefully) amazing pictures and videos I took!*****************************************Good afternoon. Sorry for the delay on updating my review but I work 6 day's/ 24 hours a day. So here we go... I LOVE THIS CAMERA!The zoom is excellent! Traveling around Cairo, Giza and Alexandria there are endless opportunities to be a shutterbug! I am a novice when it comes to taking pictures but the Samsung WB1100F made me feel like the next Ansel Adams! The wifi feature (which I thought I had to have) is an excellent gadget but not always practical when using. It can be very slow. I can say it was not the WIFI connection because I was using WIFI for other things at different times. However I am glad to have the option because I did use it from time to time. There are many settings and I'm still learning the pros and cons of each one. The Samsung feels VERY comfortable in my hand as I'm taking pictures. The battery life was good overall but I will buy an additional backup battery. (just because I want it, the Samsung never died one me during my 8-10 hour days out and about shooting photos)Again I LOVE the camera! I love Egypt! I love Egypt so much in fact I am returning July 3 for a week but this time for real R&R but I will have my Samsung WB1100F in hand for some amazing sunsets and great history!

Great little camera
November 14, 2016
This tiny camera takes really nice pictures. The photos I take with it compare well with my husband's professional camera. The zoom lens is nice, but can make far- off scenes a bit fuzzy. Excellent camera for the price. Clear, high -def pictures.
Easy to use and so compact!
January 13, 2016
I initially bought a bigger camera with more features for my daughter, and then decided to give her the choice between that camera and this one. She picked this one! She prefers the smaller size, but she did try both out to compare photo quality. This camera actually had truer colors than the other one did. It was also easier for her to operate. So, now I'm packing up the other camera and returning it. This camera will serve my daughter well and the fact that it's so compact just can't be beat! It's a great value and so easy to use!
Works just like I expected
April 20, 2015
I am a landlord, and an iPhone is not always the best for getting hi-res pictures, and zooming in and out. I am still a point-n-shoot kind of guy, but I really love this camera, Its simple to use, zooms really well, and takes really sharp pictures. I also like that I can drop it into my pocket and be on my way. I am no expert, but this was the right camera for the right price to do the right job. I previously had a Nikon Coolpix S70, and It was cool at first, but it just didn't do the job.
Excellent little camera.
August 27, 2014
Ok, it's not gonna replace my "big" cameras, but this has become my "take it everywhere" camera. It is 3.7 inches long, 2 inches high and a bit more than a half inch thick. It weighs about as much as a pack of gum, yet it shoots 20mp, has an 8X optical zoom, a Zeiss Vario-Tessar lens and uses standard SDHC memory cards. In "P" mode you have full control over ISO, White Balance, Focus, Metering and more (though no manual mode). You never notice it in your pocket. $99 at Amazon. Amazing, and highly recommended! I can't get over the price...

Good beginner's/low tech camera
October 21, 2015
This is a good, practical camera for those just starting out in photography or persons who don't need anyrhung too high tech. It takes good, clear pictures both at night and in the daytime. It really helps if you know what modes to select based on your environment and if you know about white balance, aperture etc. However, the auto mode works fairly well if you don't know about all of that. The best feature of this camera in my opinion is the lens. The zoom is great. Usually when you take zoomed in pictures, they tend to be of low quality, highlt pixelated and distorted but this rarely happens with this camera. It is good for wildlife photography, especially if you are photographing a particularly fidgety subject as it has a sport settung which is good for capturing fast moving things. Like I said, this is a good starter camera and great for practical learning.
Good starter DSLR
October 8, 2015
I bought this camera for my mom's birthday. She's always wanted a good DSLR camera, and this one didn't disappoint. It takes great photos with plenty of natural light displayed in the photos. The processing is spot on, both mechanical and digital. She hasn't really used it during the evening, but she has used her flash and it's fantastic. A little bright at times but it's a flash, so what are ya gonna do?The only problem with this camera is the battery. Each time the camera's done charging the camera won't turn on. I have to take out the battery and reinsert it so the camera would at least power on. It's done this since first boot. The battery life isn't that good either. It says that you can take like 400 photos before the camera turns off. She's experienced like 150 to 200 photos before it turns off. There was also no setup process. I don't know if that's an issue or not, but my mom thought there was something wrong with it when she noticed. But with all that aside, it's a good camera if you're just starting out in the DSLR game. I'd recommend this to anyone looking for a decent camera that's not too expensive but still takes great photos.
Nice features for a light weight low cost camera.
June 11, 2015
I have taken some nice pictures with this but I'm disappointed it isn't a little better. I recommend a tripod for long range pictures or some place to steady the camera. However I have taken some nice clear shots from quite a distance just sitting it on a fence. Nice light weight and Its very easy to transfer photos from the camera to FACEBOOK or emails or to my smart phone. A very nice feature.
Great Camera
May 28, 2015
Love this camera. Easy to use. Emailed pictures using the WiFi. The zoom is just what I needed for close ups. I have also used the video for a graduation. The video quality was good but it did drain the battery quite a bit. I was not able to video the full graduation. I am very happy with this purchase.
Other than that I like it.

Sony camera DSCW830 1 MP-needs better directions for buying memory card that is NOT INCLUDED
January 17, 2017
Arrived quickly. It's different than the last Sony we had. This one will take a little getting use to. It is very small, and the settings are different. we didn't realize the memory card didn't come with the camera, so you would be all set to take pictures on Christmas Day. NO we bought the 32 gig memory care along with a bag of goodies, and the case separately

June 21, 2016
I had a camera from Sony that looked identical (W650), which worked very well, but broke by accident. So, I needed portable Sony with Zeiss lens.
This camera meets most of the expectations, except one- the speed. I've got many not focused pictures and some, which are just late. There is no manual included (I found it at manualslib.com) and there is many adjustments, which is time consuming to try. So, the camera is just little slow for now, but works right otherwise.

January 18, 2016
It was disappointing that there was no manual with this, and while it can be downloaded (for a fee) it involves several hundred pages. Not what I will be doing any time soon. I went to Best Buy and a nice young man spelled it all out for me, taking time to show me exactly how to use all the features even though it was not purchased there. I did buy the memory stick and a case from him because he was so helpful. This is an upgrade of a camera I had for several years and I expect the same good results from this one.

February 25, 2015
This camera takes good pictures, but you have to make sure you are in a well-lit area although it has a flash on it. Otherwise, the pictures come out dark, but overall I am very pleased with it. Also, please note that it does not come equipped with a memory card, so you have to purchase one separately. I would recommend this camera.

July 15, 2016
This camera takes great pictures and video but does not auto focus when zooming in and out. This makes the zoom feature difficult to work with. I am self learning the use of this camera. I have a Panasonic Lumix compact that does auto focus with the zoom feature. For the price I paid for this camera it is still worth it.
Decent camera
May 9, 2016
Takes decent pics as long as the lighting is perfect. In low lighting situations, the flash actually makes the picture turn out darker.
Smart camera - dumb user
August 28, 2015
The camera is too "smart" constantly adjusting...I need to read and look up youtube demos. Some of the flash photos have a bit of red in the color. It is heaver than expected and cannot be concealed at concerts...OK (sue me) anyway the dog doesn't mind the flash.
Great picture quality
July 9, 2015
Great picture quality. However, for fast pictures, the camera takes a second, sometimes two to click. This was problematic when shooting wildlife.

March 29, 2015
I bought this camera because the reviews for it were so amazing. I was pretty disappointed though. First of all the zoom function broke on my second use. I had to send it back to Samsung to get it fixed. They fixed it fairly quickly. Once the zoom was fixed it does zoom in pretty far and takes decent pictures when zoomed in pretty far. I dont like trying to navigate through the different functions Trying to find the best shoot mode. The panoramic photo option is pretty cool but most times my phobe takes better pictures than the camera
Liked my Canon better!
November 28, 2014
Not all it should be. Coloration is off and has to be reset constantly. When it's working correctly, it takes great pictures. Unfortunately, that's only about 50% of the time. Can't really recommend it.

If this were a more expensive camera, I would return it.
January 3, 2017
The camera seems OK, but the light that is supposed to indicate it is charging does not come on. The seller claims they do not do "trouble shooting", as if somehow the light can be made to come on, so they said I should contact Sony. I don't see the point in exchanging the camera, since another one might have worse problems. Perhaps there is a quality control issue here.
****UPDATE ON OLD REVIEW*** WOULD RETURN THIS IF I COULD. Good For Video, Pictures Mostly Blurry & Battery Stinks (READ)
August 11, 2016
***UPDATE AFTER MANY MONTHS OF USE***- For my videos, this is an OK camera, but it dies SUPER fast. You need like 3 extra batteries on hand if say going out for a day trip No other camera I have had (about 20 of them in my life) has died this fast. The pictures are rough. I would say 3 out of 5 are blurry. I have to take numerous photos to get any that aren't the least bit fuzzy. It might be closer to 4 out of 5. Sometimes it's minor and you don't notice w/o zooming in. I didn't realize that problem very fast because I use it more for YT videos than anything else. Also, the shutter speed for photos is rather slow, but it's a cheap camera, so that isn't too abnormal there.

The pros to this camera are that it is small, light-weight and films video in the 16:9 widescreen I need for my online videos. IF I could turn back time, I would have returned this camera and bought something a little bit pricier and better all around. Oh well. Hopefully, I get a better one from Santa Claus :)!!

I love this camera so far, as far as what I bought it for, my You Tube videos and other stuff. I only used it one full day, but the battery STINKS!! My other cameras last 5x's or more longer. Did I get a bum battery???? I charge it fully and take video and it starts going down to one bar and done FAR too fast to be normal. I read reviews that said it lasted people through many flash photos and videos during the day. I'm wondering if this is a camera I can take out for a day trip or not. My husband thinks maybe I got a bad battery. Anybody have any issues??? I love that it doesn't change the lighting to an orangey color, which is what the problem was with my more expensive, larger cameras. It's all over the place with those, which makes editing sooo difficult. This seems to stay true, and the video quality is very good. I wanted a 1080, but I cannot tell the difference to be honest. This is worth the $$ in the quality dept. & it is a Sony. I haven't taken photos yet. I'm just concerned about the battery. If the battery gets replaced and lasts a lot longer, than I will give this a better review. PS- The size is great, but very tiny compared to my old point and shoot. In a crazy house like mine it may not last the year lol. All is good but the battery. I'm thinking that may be a defect.
Not a bad camera for the money.
January 7, 2015
This camera is just ok - nothing special. I purchased it for work for Facebook posts. You have to hold the camera VERY VERY still to get a clear picture or it's blurry. I have tried many settings and still it is a hit or miss. Lighting is a big factor for a clear picture. Settings are easy to understand and the screen is a good size.
Pros - it fits in my pocket which is good since I work outside.
Cons - Hard to get a good clear picture.

August 18, 2014
Very small camera, probably the smallest I have seen, which is great for those who don't like carrying a big camera with them. The picture quality was not the best when seen it on the camera, but the image looks better when seen on the computer.
I gifted it to my dad who loves small cameras and is not concerned too much about the resolution of the image. I will possibly buy a new one that shoots a better quality of pictures even if it is a bigger size. The 20.1 MP really does not add much to the picture quality as expected.
an ok camrea but not bad at all.
July 15, 2014
its an ok its not a bad camera ether its a point and shoot camera. I will say this though the zoom is not great it has a hard time focusing no matter what settings you are in I've tried everything but no luck. I did upload some pictures I took with the camera in the photo section of a Bee and clouds. but over all its an ok camera it will be great for kids to have to. but one thing to add is the price is a little to pricey just for this small type of point and shoot camera it should be way lower the price tag.

Very poor clarity. Went on a 25 mile hike in Glacier National Park. My friends used their smart phones and the pictures are significantly clearer with many more shooting options. Difficult to get moving photos (water, lots of bodies of water there) even after playing with the settings. Also when camera was zoomed it would just shut off when capture button was pressed. Very upset so much money was wasted when I could of just paid for a phone upgrade which would have also been lighter to pack in addition to my 50lb backpack.

Totally Unsatisfied with the WB100F
November 5, 2015
As the owner of a Samsung Galaxy 2 camera-EKGC-200, and a Nikon P600, we wanted a camera in the middle zoom range. We used this camera for a few dozen pictures and were totally displeased with the weight, balance and image quality. I would not buy this camera. The image quality of the Nikon and Samsung Galaxy 2 cameras are FAR superior to this one.

Not sure why this camera has such great reviews. Quality of the pictures was not great at all. Colors aren't bright enough and images are not as sharp as you would expect. My old Galaxy S-III smart phone makes better quality pictures. Returned this camera after couple of days.
I would not recommend this camera
July 21, 2015
The shutter speed on this camera is very slooooooow. Even when I press the speed control button and the shutter down, the picture is not captured immediately. When you are taking a picture of a toddler that is squirmy, the moment needs to be captured quickly. I somewhat solved this problem by using the Smart mode ACTION/SPORT setting. If you are trying to take pictures indoors, do not use the auto setting or flash. All faces will be washed out and flooded with light. Try a Smart setting instead.

This camera is not that great. Even using a tripod it takes blurry pictures sometimes. It's not that easy to figure out either since it comes with no manual and you have to download it if you want it. By the way it's about 170 pages.

Not the camera you want.
September 14, 2017
As a former professional photographer, I was seriously underwhelmed by this camera. For $120, you'd expect something that would, at the very least, produce sharp images. This one doesn't. But there are times when I don't want, or can't, or didn't bring along my big Nikons with all of my interchangeable lenses, filters, lens hoods and tripods; times when I simply want something small, portable to take quick images, to record a place I might want to lug all of my equipment back to, or simply to quickly record an event. Well...I spent a week testing the DSC W830, both indoors and outdoors. I do mostly nature and wildlife photography, not people. I don't need a camera that detects smiles or faces: trees, rocks, mountains, wildflowers, and squirrels don't smile! I just wanted something to take some quick, but sharp images. The autofocus on this camera is less accurate than expected. And though it supposedly focuses at about five centimeters (two inches), this unit did a very poor job. Frankly, the camera in a smartphone can do a better job.
Corners Cut Compared to Previous Model
November 25, 2015
The slow auto-focus, constant blur, unpredictable light changes, and the display have me really annoyed. I have an older model of this camera which is much better and creates sharper more accurate images, albeit less pixels. The body and size on this overall feels a lot cheaper than the older model. The video isn't all that great either. I feel like some serious corners were cut with this and it was assumed no one would notice. The only difference so far that seems to be a real plus is the battery life. Seriously though, the display is killing me; the colors are nowhere near accurate and it looks no better than a circa 2003 display.
An overall cheap camera. You get what you pay for.
August 7, 2015
The camera worked well for a month or so. It is a cheap camera that is cheap. Just after the return period, the screen acted up rendering it useless. The camera has an overall cheap feel and the screen was never all that great. I hope the warranty will fix it. Other cameras are much better overall.
The camera takes great pictures and footage with little to no issue
May 2, 2015
I got this camera as a quick point and shoot for a vacation to Florida. The camera takes great pictures and footage with little to no issue. The only problem I had is that the display screen died in the middle of my vacation. Since it has passed the 30 day window for a return, I'm stuck with dealing with Sony to get the screen repaired. I have to say they need to have a better setup for warranty repairs.
Smaller Toy like Camera
January 21, 2015
It is considerably smaller in size than it looks in the picture. Also, it seems like made of cheap plastic and very light, almost like a toy camera. I do not think SONY should even built a camera of this quality. However, picture/shooting quality is not bad. The pictures looked decent enough. It came with a battery and charger. There was no memory card included in the package, neither did any carrying pouch.

September 15, 2016
Upon getting this camera, I immediately took a couple pictures in my living room and there was a magenta stripe that showed up on the right side of the images. I know this product is refurbished, but my expectation is that their quality control process would catch such an egregious defect.

October 26, 2015
Wifi connection not a good as the WB250 OR WB 350, will not direct link with the computer but does great job linking to my I-phone to use as a remote shutter release. I wore out my WB250 over 2 years of constant use, however I do not think this WB1100 is going to outlast the WB250. I started getting flash and white out on the display screen, the WB1100 is starting to show a similar screen white out and I've only had it for 2 months. I have a feeling that the unit which was reconditioned and certified by olympus was not fully certified. I have not notified the company that sold the unit, I don't think it is their fault however I wish I had spent $30.00 more to get the WB350 OR WB360 model, My wife has the WB350 and it is great. I wanted the long some on the WB1100. As a follow up to my original posting. The camera is not holding up! The LCD display on the rear of the camera is streaking and washing out. There are times I can't even see the what is in the view finder. I have actually had to go out and purchase a new camera that I can depend on. DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY! Refurbished is not a chance worth taking.1-20-16. To give the final review. The camera died, $149.00 wasted. The only good thing is I purchased a WB350 for $79.00 brand new! Shop around for new, skip the refurbished.

Absolutely terrible camera. My daughter's iphone did better. We bought it for her trip to Peru. She just came home and took maybe 30 pictures before deciding they were so bad she would be better off with her phone camera. A dud. Poor lens makes the 20 MP irrelevant. Terrible focus unless bright sunlight & still subject. Don't buy this unless using just for snapshots, but then why bother with 20 MP? I have a Sony SLR that I love, so I thought I'd try this, but the DSCW830 is not worth even the budget price.
