Five Star Reviews: | 43% It's a great use of this press August 25, 2017 We've been using this tortilla press to stretch individual pizzas out of dough from Trader Joe's. It's a great use of this press! I only wish I'd gotten the 8inch because it would be a better size. I will likely buy another in the 8 inch size for this purpose. Bueno! August 16, 2017 This is well constructed and came with clear instructions! We made homemade tortillas and they were delicious - and much easier to make with this press. Works Great ! Gets the job done! August 2, 2017 Works Great ! Gets the job done! Feels sturdy and strong! We Have not any issues with it Makes making tortillas alot easier than the old fashion rolling. overall I can say I would give this item one thumbs up!! If you want to check out more reviews , check out my YouTube Channel Called StatUpBox. This is my honest and unbiased Review. All opinions are my own Five Stars June 17, 2017 Perfect for the kitchen, and lightweight! Love that its not heavy like the old traditional ones. excellent product. Lightweight and Works Great October 16, 2016 Works perfectly. lightweight. easy to clean. we put a small piece of plastic wrap on both sides to help keep things from sticking to the metal.I've never had a cast iron one but this aluminium works for us. | 73% There are no reviews yet | 82% There are no reviews yet | 66% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |

I lined the top and bottom with plastic wrap, or freezer paper (not parchment). Dough comes right off after pressing. Press hard November 17, 2016 This is a good corn press but to get the tortilla flat enough, you have to press harder than normal since there is so much give (bend) because it is aluminum. I went with a cast iron unit and it works much better. Seller was great and the press arrived quickly. Functional - does the job it needs to do March 4, 2016 I didn't want to invest in cast iron yet, as I've never made tortillas before. This one does the job, for now. I do find that it presses a bit thinner on the side near the handle, so I've been turning my press paper 180* and pressing briefly again, to even it out - maybe that's normal for tortilla presses due to design? I'm not sure. Good little press February 26, 2015 This is a really good tortilla press, I just wish I would've gotten a bigger size instead to make bigger tortillas and not so many little ones lol but it works pretty good. Also, it might press your tortilla more on one side than the other and if it bother's you to have your tortilla thicker on one side and thinner on the other (like it bothers me) you can flip the pressed tortilla (still in the plastic of course) and press again mildly and tada!! :) A little wimpy. February 12, 2014 I was going to order the cast iron one and at the last minute ordered this one. It works. However...the top flexes when applying pressure, leaves tortilla thin on one side. Good enough deal for the money but I only give 5 stars to the things I really appreciate. I look at the cost compared to what I get. Some things are cheaply made, Are cheap to buy and I expect them to be a throw away. I do expect everything to work when I get it. I gave a very cheap bicycle odometer and rear view mirror a 5 star because they worked right. Just saying!! I don't think this press is a five star press Better than expected May 8, 2013 Based upon the reviews, I was not sure what to expect when I ordered this. I ordered the 8 inch size and am pleased with the size of the corn tortillas that it makes. It is very simple to use and takes just minutes to make the dough. Simply add warm water and a little salt to the corn flour, form into small balls, place between a ziploc bag that has the sides cut open and press down. I heat on a hot griddle for a few minutes on each side and have a wonderful, tasty tortilla. Not a carboard like disc that comes from the grocery store. The thickness was perfect, they turned out round (although I don't get too hung up on it if they turn out a little oblong), and they tasted wonderful. | 17% There are no reviews yet | 10% There are no reviews yet | 20% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
Three Star Reviews: | 11% Good little press for the price May 29, 2016 Works good. Don't push down to hard or the tortilla will come out around edges including the back where handle is located. Also be sure to use some type of plastic wrap or something bc it will stick with corn tortillas ( have not tried on flour) . Just wish it was a tad bit bigger ( it makes the tortillas a little smaller then the store bought corn tortillas. Good for flatbread, not so good for tortillas April 5, 2013 Summary:If your intention is to make flatbread this will do the trick. If you want light fluffy tortillas, you won't be as happy. The pros:1. Much faster than a rolling pin2. light weight3. small4. easy to clean5. simple to useThe cons:1. uneven results, the dough is not the same thickness if pressed out to the advertised 6" diameter2. To get even results the tortillas have to be made far too thick such that they don't bubble when baked.3. Result is not comparable quality to using a rolling pin. Left me kinda flat. March 14, 2013 Having to wrap the plates in plastic and then fight to keep them covered after every press is frustrating. I could never get the tortillas to come out right (too small) so I reserved the device for pressing out dough to use for Chinese dumplings. I might have to go with a larger press to get a decent-sized tortilla. Works well for corn, not so well for flour. January 2, 2013 I love fresh homemade tortillas, so I decided to buy this to save some time. I read some other reviews saying that there is too large of a gap at one end, but I bought it anyways. They were right though. The hinged end has a 0.5 mm or so gap, where the handle end will press until the top and bottom plates touch. What this means is you can only thin your tortillas so much before there is a noticeable taper. I like my corn tortillas about this thick, so I still get some use out of it. Flour however, still needs to be rolled out the old fashion way. All that being said, the devise is well made and is easy to use. | 5% There are no reviews yet | 4% There are no reviews yet | 9% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
Two Star Reviews: | 9% Found better quality in Texas at HEB March 11, 2017 Cheap, found better quality at HEB with their brand...look for their Cocinaware line I do not recommend this product December 24, 2016 Flimsy, does not press dough thinly. I do not recommend this product. Not for thin tortillas April 16, 2016 Item as described, arrived in a timely manner. But it does not make thin tortillas. The tortillas are thick like gordita bread. There is no way to adjust the compression so if you're ok with thick flatbread instead of tortillas you'll like this. Otherwise continue to use a rolling pin to make tortillas. Not sturdy enough. April 19, 2013 I have started to make my own gluten-free tortillas at home and was looking for an alternative to rolling out the dough. This product had excellent reviews, so I gave it a try. The first time I tried it, the dough from the recipe I used was too stiff to compress well. The tortillas turned out really thick. The aluminum press would actually bend around the dough, rather than compressing it. I gave it another try with a different recipe, and no matter what I tried the dough would stick terribly to the press, and I would have to roll them out anyway. I think the cast iron tortilla press would probably work better. | 1% There are no reviews yet | 3% There are no reviews yet | 4% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
One Star Reviews: | 16% When I was trying to make tortilla, it is bending on the side and mid surface stays same. Doesn't work August 8, 2017 When I was trying to make tortilla, it is bending on the side and mid surface stays same. Doesn't work Flimsy May 18, 2017 This was flimsy and did not make even tortillas. The tortilla was thicker on one side than the other and not as thin as I would like. I bought this for the price thinking "what could be so different in tortilla presses?" I was wrong. I ended up buying twice when I bought a heavier duty one. Not engineered well May 12, 2017 Couldn't provide enough pressure to press the masa thin enough. Great for corn tortilla-cakes. Plate was bent February 21, 2017 The "flat" plate that the dough is pressed together was bent. This meant to dough could not be pressed flat, therefore no tortillas. Too flimsey February 13, 2017 Metal is too thin and flexes. Don't buy this one...get a heavier duty one...preferably cast iron or go traditional and get a wood one. Metal shards! November 17, 2015 I was really disappointed to find metal shards in my tortillas! It's very dangerous and I will be sending this back immediately. | 4% There are no reviews yet | 1% There are no reviews yet | 1% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
