Works Great so far.
Just received it, I had a some missing parts but luckily the seller was very easy to work with and shipped out the parts asap.
Very bright white lights, perfect for lighting portraits, and products - I don't necessary like the backdrops but we'll see if maybe they come in handy in the future.
Lots of components - so kinda sucks to put away but thats just me being lazy.

Nice set, I was surprised at the quality of the equipment. I expected much less for the price. The set came double boxed and very well packaged, so no part would suffer any damage. Everything in the list came in the box, nothing missing. I wish the Muslin backdrops were bigger, but these work perfectly with the system. I do warn you though, when you open the lighting umbrellas do so as far away from your face as possible because the springs snap open quite forcefully. Please note that I used only 2 out of 4 bars for the width of this set up, so essentially it can be double the width that you see here. Also I steamed the Muslin backdrop to get rid of the fold lines and have a smooth appearance. Additionally, included were a carrying duffel bag, a case for each of the lighting umbrellas, a case for the cross bars and a sand bag to weigh down the overhead lighting tripod, which I do not have set up here. Outrageous value for the money. I needed to add a few lights to my simple studio and this package has worked great. I really like the design of the lights. I love the fact that there are 4 lights per stand (so I can unscrew one or two if needed), and the boom stand is weighted. The thee backdrops and stand are just an added bonus. I have used these to light videos, and my daughter has used them with her photography. They have held up extremely well during travel and because of the price I am not paranoid about letting other friends borrow them. The materials used do not feel flimsy or cheap. I highly recommend this product to anyone interested in video or photography. A great value for the price!!

Seemed like one of those "too good to be true" deals, so I wasn't surprised when we had a few issues with our original order. The issues were that several of the lights didn't appear to be working, the white muslin was soiled and one of the stands had a defective part. I wrote to Linco and they: 1) gave me instructions that got all the lights working; 2) replaced the white muslin; and 3) replaced the defective part. (Took a few emails and a photo of the part, but they were very polite and helpful throughout.) Once all that was done, everything worked just great!

And, we just had a part break on one of the light banks, so I wrote to see if I could purchase that part (since it was my fault). They're sending me the replacement part for no charge - that's service beyond my expectations.

I love this set!!!! It is beyond what I could ever ask for. This set was my upgrade from an umbrella set and I am so in love with my soft boxes. The light is great and the boom light helps my light up my trouble areas that I was having from my umbrellas. The order was taken and processed quickly and I received my package a few days sooner than expected. DOUBLE BONUS! :) Everything was nice and sturdy. I love the build of the stands. The only problem I am facing right now is that the top (screw) part of the backdrop stand somehow fell (broke) off and now I can't use it to hold my backdrops. I am looking into having that fixed but considering I have another backdrop stand, I'm not really too concerned with it. BLUF (Bottom Line Up Front) I LOVE MY LINCO SET!!!!! :)

Good for your wallet, yet bad for your Health :(

I've had the product for a while now and still cannot use it! Right after I opened the packaging box, a strong plastic smell filled the room. The product description is accurate and it does what it intended to decently. But the build quality is as "low cost" as it can be. I took out all the parts and left them on the balcony to release the "gas". After a week, the plastic smell hasn't gotten much better.

Any product with plastic parts or plastic bag packaging will have some sort of smell. But the smell from this particular product is significantly stronger due to the cheap parts and cheap paints it is using. It really can give you headache.

p.s. their sales support contacted me and offered me a small refund for the smell. One thing I am certain is that they really put in their effort on customer supports!

It's a good kit, BUT.... the one tripod that supports the backdrop came damaged. I asked LINCO to swap out/replace the tripod, but they said that "since our products change so frequently, you'd have to send back the entire kit and get a replacement." Really??? Just for ONE tripod that looks fairly standard? This kit came in a large box and required a lot of careful packing, which barely fit in the box it was sent in. I'm not going to try playing tetris with this to send it back. They DID, however, give me a partial refund, which was helpful. Hopefully I won't ever need to fully extend the support tripods for the backdrop.

Definitely good for the money. We don't complain at this price for so many cool things.
However, these toxic bulbs are quite weak. It should be enough for basic portrait use, but you will need other bulbs for more advanced things.
I wish this kit was sold without bulbs.
I bought plenty of LED bulbs lederTEK 30w 5000K. They are very expensive but incredibly powerful, I measured and each lederTEK 30W is the equivalent of 3 of the 40W bulbs you have in this kit (therefore 4 times brighter for the same power)

After posting this review the company got in contact with me, After offering to replace the bulbs for me as well as inform me of a YouTube video of the instructions. I will change the rating of my review however the back drops are very small. I will end up needing to buy larger, the size given works for a newborn photo shoot. As well as the white backdrop being pretty see through with natural light in back. The equipment is quite flimsy very easy to bend when hanging the fabric. So far no issues with it staying during shoots luckily.

The product is good in general. The lights are not enough for a product of this size. The lights are inadequate.

I put 3 stars because all the lights were spoiled and I had to buy them in addition.

It is just ok. I had to reinforce the stands with pieces of metal and brackets due to the lack of quality. However, at $250.00 and having read previous reviews, I was anticipating the necessity. One of the light fixtures stopped working after having used it for only an hour, which was disappointing. I haven't attempted to send it back due to not wanting to fuss with packaging it up and paying for postage.

All in all...I got what I paid for.

The light and quality of photos shot on my Canon 70D are incredible. But, when I was adjusted the stand, it snapped in my hand!

So, if you take care of these things and be gentle, they should last and give you great bang for the buck.

If you're Hulk Hogan, choose another set because these cheap stands will crumble in your veiny hands.

One of the soft boxes is broke. but for this price its already good.

It is not true that the set-up only take 3 Seconds to Complete .It is very hard to turn clockwise to lock. Moreover one of the tripod was damage

Ordered this for a shoot we had. Had great reviews, and we needed some lights so we made the purchase. The soft boxes are nice, as are the light stands, unfortunately the bulbs that came with this package are 40w, not the advertised 100w. This made our shoot unbearably dark. We had to literally put the soft boxes 18 inches away from the subject, in order to shoot a 1/60 and f4. Completely​ useless, and nearly ruined a shoot. We ended up using speedlights.

Now we have to overnight strobes, in order to have them ready for the next shoot.

It's okay in a pinch but I'd save up for a quality product. I have changed my word here from my original review as Linco has been emailing and calling me which at this point is getting annoying.

The lights are great and I have no complaint about those. The top railing of the backdrop stand is flimsy and feels like it will break any second. I am not sure who is responsible for cutting these backdrops but they must be made for infants or "little people" because they are very short when you hang them horizontal. If you hang them vertical you cannot get a full body shot of an adult human without wall on both side. Bad job on that. Shame on you for sucking at the back drops.

Things started OK but have been getting worse. I was sold on the 3 second pop-up soft boxes. I like them but they're a bit tricky to get and you end up putting in 12 lightbulbs so whatever time you'd save is pretty much irrelevant. The thing that bothers me the most are how cheap the stands are. The construction is very light and the tightening knobs are plastic and delicate. I become terrified every time I tighten them because you can hear little popping noises as if it's going to break off. Just the other day during a shoot the light stand extension detached itself, so now it moves about freely with nothing to secure it.

The storage bag is very cheap and has ripped already at the zipper. No surprise there (didn't expect it to be much). The lighting itself is very unappealing. Feels like a laboratory. The backdrop stand and cloth are OK. On it's narrowest setting the cloth is a little too short to meet the stands so it's a challenge to get it clamped and pulled tight. At this point I couldn't recommend this.

I actually stopped in the middle of a video shoot to write this review, after the second piece of equipment just broke. These things look great for beginning studio photographers/videographers. At first glance, what's not to love? Everything you need for studio shots and to get going with lighting for a price that doesn't knock you down and rough you up. But once you get the stuff, you discover pretty quickly -- as I did -- that you get what you pay for. I received the items and right off the bat one of the bulbs didn't work. I discovered this too late to return/replace, so I just dealt with it.Then after some delay, I began to do some shoots in earnest. The threaded tighteners are plastic and cheap, and the sleeves they tighten to are also plastic. Bad combo. The lights *will NOT* stay in position, always going the way of gravity vs. staying in place by tightening. Position them; tighten them; get everything set; then watch as the light just sags downward and points to the ground all on its own. Give the lock a decent hand cinch down and the bolt breaks through the plastic sleeve. You're done with that piece for good. I've used these lights less than 5 times, and now have two broken pieces, certainly with more on the way.I had high hopes for this studio lighting kit. I thought maybe someone could take what is obviously a high-margin product for the big guys, and do it a little cheaper but preserve the basic functionality. No dice. The parts that are key to make this kit useable are plastic crap. They WILL break, and you'll end up spending $200 on this set like I did, only to have to buy something else more expensive when it happens. Save your cash, and put your $200 toward a set that's better quality when you can afford it. This set is DEFINITELY too good to be true.

I got in contact with their customer service about potential partial refunds to replace the items that were extremely cheap, thin or just downright useless as I had to order other parts to make this a complete, functional and professional studio. I had to set this up in my office right away as I needed to start producing videos asap. The only way they would provide any kind of assistance is if I packaged up everything and sent it back to them, in which they would provide a refund. I explained I could not do that asI couldn't go that long without a functional studio. They continued to ignore me and provided ABSOLUTELY one of the WORST customer service experiences I have ever had. I will NEVER deal with Linco Inc. AGAIN!!!

In all honesty, for the price it's not a bad deal.... but there's a similar package for only $150 and is only lacking two lights. The muslin backgrounds have been folded for some time so the creases still aren't out after leaving it hanging, stretching it, and everything else I can think of. When I got the package the corner was crushed and left quite one of the soft lights kind of screwed up. The backgrounds are super thin, so you better have a wall you can use for a background, I've already tried the chromkey and if you don't have it right against a background you won't be able to replace it very well.

After posting my four star review, Linco called me to offer a "partial refund" in exchange for changing my rating to 5 stares. I will never buy from Linco again. This buying of reviews is unethical and Linco will pay for it. Below is my original four star review:
