Side by Side Comparison of: Reflections vs GE

We purchased these for a large BBQ party. Several reviews mentioned that they did not receive the silverware described. We received the silverware described. It was very sturdy and it looked good on the buffet table.

My wife loves these. We do a lot of outdoor entertaining during the summer....and using real flatware can be a hassle. These are a nice step up from standard white or clear plastic....w/o that hassle.Will definitely re-order again next year.

I ordered these for a friendsgiving dinner as I didn't want to use the silverware in my house because there would be a lot of clean up! I wanted something elegant looking for this special occasion. When I got these in the mail, my boyfriend got mad because he believed they were really metal! But when I told him it was really good looking plastic at a good price, he was impressed. In fact, no one could believe these were plastic! They were good looking and sturdy unlike other plastic utensils that end up breaking really easily. At the end of the night, I wanted to wash them just because they were so good to just get rid of.

We used these for my wedding. I would've been fine with any old color but my mom thought that this would add a touch of elegance to the fact that we were using plasticware LOL and I must admit that they turned out beautiful.

We ordered this for our wedding reception bbq. The silverware looks very classy and at first glance they really do look like real metal pieces. They are about the same sturdy-ness as the higher end clear plastic silverware from stores like Walmart and Target. We have leftovers from the BBQ and are happy to be able to use them at home. Some we save and rewash, others we just throw depending on time, our mood, etc... We regularly use plastic silverware to save on dishwashing, as we have an old fashioned kitchen sans dishwasher... And, even though we know other plastic silverware can do the job just as well, we plan to order more as we just like the look of these so much! A great value for the price, and looks beautiful too!

It's a dishwasher basket so not much to say except it does exactly what it should do and I can say it does it well. Nice size it's just what we needed. Using in a commercial kitchen and it's holding up well

Recently moved into a new house where the dishwasher was missing its silverware basket. Let's just say, having to hand wash your silverware every single time, or fighting with it to stay in the rack, is just too much to deal with on a daily basis. After searching stores for a solution, with no luck, I reached out to the handy dandy amazon app. This was the first product that popped up when I searched, and I knew immediately this would work. Ordered it right away. The product shipped out an hour later and got to my house the very next day!!! That made me incredibly happy! Keep in mind, I only live about 4 hours away from the sender. Placed the basket in my dishwasher as soon as I opened the package, and it fit PERFECTLY! I am so happy with this purchase. Definitely a happy customer.

Laugh. Yes, go ahead and laugh. But I did not buy this to hold eating utensils.While in the process of remodeling my home office I came to the realization I have too many charger cords (fine, probably a sign of having too many items needing charging). Laptop cables, iPad cable, iPhone cable, etc. All of them jumbled up in a desk drawer. I wanted something to help me organize those cables. I looked and looked for a small basket or box to do the job and somehow wound up looking at dishwasher baskets. "Why not?" I thought. This one fills the bill perfectly. One compartment for each cable and associated component (such as the old, and still used, iPod dock). It hides away neatly in my overhead hutch, and the price was right.Oh, and it is sturdy and well made with no sharp rims or edges that you sometimes get on less expensive plasticware. I am sure it would do great in a dishwasher. I just hope mine never ends up there by mistake.

We just purchased a brand new GE to replace an older model Maytag. Although the old dishwasher was a piece of junk, I really didn't realize how much I would miss the old centered cutlery basket. The NEW GE has this long side basket with holes on top for individual flatware and only fits on the right side. It requires extra effort, to reach all the way to the back and side, to put the cutlery in the dishwasher, I really got used to the open basket in the center and pretty much throwing the stuff in. Well, I was skeptical, didn't know if this one would fit in the center or if the holes would line up with the spokes, but it did, and for the unusually good price on this basket, I am very pleased. I have seen this basket elsewhere, on the GE site for 3 times more. This was a good bargain and a good universal fit for my dishwahser.

Used these for a budget wedding and they worked wonderfully. At first glance, it looked almost like real silverware. Very nice for the price! No problems with shipping or quality. I would purchase these again.

Bought for our outdoor wedding reception which will be at our home in the summer. Didn't want the typical plastic silverware and can't afford that much actual silverware - trying to keep the wedding from looking like a High School Graduation Open House! A little thin, but this does the trick. Great price too!

This is a great value! I comparison shopped on Amazon while in a party store, and in the store, a pack of 12 similar forks was $7.99! These look very nice on the front side but are a bit more transparent on the backside. (This is not really a big deal to me, though) Because of the finish, quite a few pieces have little scuff marks, but they really aren't that noticeable. These are a major step up from white, colored, or clear plastic.

Loved it. But it's half the price at Sams & Costco.

Like others, I wish the back of the silverware was silver also p, not black. But sitting on the table they look just like real silverware. I used these at my outdoor wedding and everyone was surprised when they picked them up and they were plastic.

Let me start off by saying that I haven't actually used these yet. The only reason I am writing the review now, is because I won't be using these until September and I am sure I will forget to write a review by then. I received these in the mail today and I am slightly disappointed because of how light weight they are and the fact that every piece on the top of the two boxes I ordered was scratched. That being said, the rest seem fine and unharmed by the delivery and the silver color is nice. At first glance I'm not sure you could really tell that they are plastic, but your guests will certainly know once they pick them up. They appear as if they will be durable enough for one event- which is all I need them for. Overall, while the quality may be a little iffy, you can't really beat the quantity you get for the price.

this doesn't really fit my dishwasher, but the one that came with it was so small the silverware wasn't getting clean. So I just push this one in a corner, it is like the old one I had, larger holes and bigger space for silverware.

good basket, fits well

Quite big and comfortably fits in my dishwasher. Earlier one broke and was also small that could only fit small spoons and was on upper rack. This is good for big spoons or spatulas and I could only place it on lower rack. So check your dishwasher before you purchase to see if you have enough space on lower rack. I paid 17$ (not sure amazon will like to display price in a review) but I was expecting a lower price but good value for money. Also I think if you go any cheaper you may get what you pay for- something that will break after few weeks. This one looks like it will last forever as it is quite strong.

This arrived timely and is a great replacement for the fancy silverware basket that came with our expensive frigidaire dishwasher...which mostly disintegrated after one year. This basket is large and fits fine anywhere on our bottom rack. It appears sturdier than the one that came with the dishwasher. The holes on the bottom are small enough that fork spokes or knife tips don't fall through. Good affordable choice!

Okay so we had to buy this silverware basket since the dishwasher in the home we are renting was missing a basket. It fits great! However, in the description it stated it was a two-piece silverware basket with a hinged snap on basket that would be ideal for holding smaller items. It did not come with this second piece. So I believe the price is a bit much especially when you don't receive exactly what you thought you were ordering. It is a genuine GE Part, but I am sure a universal part would have worked just as well. Also, the color is not white it is a light grey.(I didn't send the product back because although the silverware basket was missing in our rental the snap on basket for smaller items was not missing so I didn't need the second part of this product anyhow) I didn't want to go through the hassle of sending it back and reordering so I just kept the basket. But buyer beware I think this happened to some other people who bought this product.

I recently moved into a new apartment and the silverware basket for the dishwasher was missing so I ordered this one online. The dimensions are 8.5" (length) x 7" (width) and 8" (height, including handle). If this matters to you, the color is not white, but rather a light gray color. Also, while the description for this product says there is a hinged cover for smaller items, mine didn't include it. This isn't a big deal to me and on the whole this basket does exactly what I needed it to do. I have used it for almost three months now with no complaints.

Just OK. I wish they were a bit bigger so the cutlery would look more like a fine set. They are the same size as your standard plastic set, except maybe the handle is a tad longer. So, I say these are just OK. It worked for my dinner party, but I certainly would not use for fine dining. I was actually a bit disappointed when I opened the box.

I ended up returning this product for a couple reasons. A) I did not feel comfortable with 120 people throwing away all this plastic after a single use and B) I heard from a couple people about how the forks are not as sturdy as they seem. The last thing I wanted was wedding guests' cutlery breaking during the reception. I ended up finding a wooden set of cutlery for a cheaper price on Amazon that actually holds up a lot better and has a much more unique look to it. Mind you, my wedding is also outside, so we can get away with a more casual look.

I purchased two kinds of plastic silverware.Reflections heavyweight has a nice front side, but the backside is unpolished.Check out the Silver Secrets Silverware, those ones are fully polished on the front and back sides.

These are attractive looking for being plasticware, although you can see through the silver a little bit (especially from the back). Not a big deal as they do look fancier than the normal colors. However, I would definitely not consider them "heavyweight" as they are labeled. They aren't any stronger than other regular-use versions.

It holds the utensils, what more can I ask for.

Usable, but cracked the first month

It;s a good product. I only wish it had a closing cover for those little things that tend to no stay in it.

Received item and it appears to be used or tampered with even though this is listed as new. It was wrapped in plastic but it looks like there was clearly a sticker of some sort that was ripped off on the inside middle portion of the divider. It left a residue that would take a while to get off. I couldn't be bothered. Functionally it works fine but is pretty cheap and had that residue on it.

This basket was not made for my model GE Profile so it doesn't really fit in the lower rack as well as the one that has worn out. It is a different shape and at the same material so will see how long before the bottom breaks in this one.

Replacement for old basket. This kind of looked like the old basket, but not quite the right size. It doesn't fit perfectly, but close enough that it works. This one isn't as sturdy as the old one. Think the price is high for what you are getting. Kind of cheezy plastic that most likely wont last years like the old one. Anticipating a new dishwasher in the next year, so the replacement basket will do until then. A plus, I didn't have to run all over the state trying to find a replacement basket which made the convenience worth the price.

While these are a reasonable value given the price, it's a stretch to call them heavyweight plastic. Much lighter and shorter than other heavyweight plastic cutlery I have purchased elsewhere. These were also unusable for me, as they did not arrive in the 2-day Prime window. On the positive side, the knives have heavier serration than some others, so these may be good if you are serving items that are harder to cut. So overall they are a decent choice if you want silver color and low price. Not a great choice if you are truly looking for a heavier weight plastic.

These are very flimsy. I used them at an engagement party to test to see if they could be used for the actual wedding and they cannot be used to cut meat. I served ham and saw people struggling to cut it up. I would recommend for a less extravagant party

Have bought reflections for years but these are smaller and flimsey. I would not buy again

You get what you pay for! I previously purchased good quality plastic ware for Thanksgiving, then ordered these for Christmas. They are much thinner/smaller than "premium" cutlery.

OMG what a disappointment! They have cheapened this silverware so much! It is only polished on one side and clear on the back. Super thin and cheezy like .99 stuff from dollar store. Never purchase again.

Like another reviewer, I got the flimsier, less shiny and totally cheap Plex-Ware. I paid extra for the nice version (I could've gotten sturdier clear plastic ones for half the price, that look much nicer), and was told it would be in stock in 2 days. The on-stock date is now pushed out a week from then, but this box of crap mysteriously arrived at my door today. Don't waste your time.

New house, old dishwasher without a silverware basket. I believe this is the actual factory replacement part for our GE dishwasher; however, the fit is pretty lousy. I'm not sure why they designed this so poorly. It seems more generic than purposely designed for our model. Our previous dishwasher had an excellent silverware basket mounted along the side. This design seems an afterthought. Also, if I want the lid for this basket I need to purchase separately. No thanks. If this breaks I'll make my own version from leftover pvc plumbing parts.

Bottom holes are to big for the handles of my silverware

I bought this to replace my old one that had some holes in the bottom where my knives would slip through. This basket has bigger holes at the bottom, the ones it's supposed to, but they are too big and my knives still occasionally slip through. They don't if I turn them sharp side up but I don't like doing that for fear someone will get hurt loading or unloading. I don't want to buy another now so I'll make do for now but wish I would have noticed that. My original one was Maytag so I guess I should have stuck with that brand.

Our flatware falls through the holes on the bottom, which is quite inconvenient. This did not happen on our old basket, which alas wore out.

The package received was Plexware. The quality of the brand is less than Reflections. The color is also different.

Dollar store grade! I purchased this because of the outstanding reviews. I'm returning them because the forks are only good if your eating whip cream.

The product that arrived was not the reflections package shown in the photo- I received something called PlexWare. A lower budget version of this product. Why? It looks flimsy and cheap. I paid for one thing and got another.

False advertising! This is just basic clear plastic silverware that has metallic silver coating on one side. Dollar store basic. Yes it looks like real small silverware BUT has no weight to it at ALL. "Heavyweight" my foot. So disappointed on Thanksgiving. The crystal clear plastic set from Costco is heavier and larger than this pathetic set.

This disposable flatware is definitely not heavyweight as advertised. I bought them for a holiday gathering because I thought they would look nicer than the heavy duty clear plastic cutlery I normally use. What a waste of money! Unfortunately I bought 2 boxes and I just donated the second box to a friends church. Don't waste your money on these.

I received this item and it is broken. I can probably still use it, but I'm afraid it will come apart in the dishwasher. Not sure if it's worth the trouble to return it.

I know... How can you get a 1 start rating on a dish washing basket right? There is only 1 single thing that can ruin a basket, and that is if the utencils goes through the holes. I can't believe how big these holes are, because my utensils are not toothpick sized by any means, yet I have to turn it on the opposite end to make it stay in the basket (meaning the mouth piece of the spoon goes in rather than the handle. Forget about chopsticks. Even the thickest chopsticks goes right through.

Not at all!! It is broken & I'm putting up with it because I sent a note that I was very unhappy that I had to pay postage to return a second basket that I didn't order. Two packages came the same day & I still fail to understand how that happened. If I'd had a thought this one was broken, I would have opened both. I'd already returned the other one when I discovered the break in the one I kept. I won't be ordering from Amazon again!

This basket had a strong skunky smell right out of the plastic it was packaged in. I tried washing it several times running it through the dishwasher with white vinegar, cascade complete The end result is that it made my dishwasher reek. I can't explain it at all but this was a miserable experience and now I have no silverware basket. I just hope that whatever made it stink isn't toxic. The seller was free shipping LLC
