Keeps food cool really well
October 11, 2016
Keeps food cool really well. It's deep and not wide, which makes it easier to handle for me. Packing it takes a little planning due to the food being stacked so deep.
Excellent vertical design, makes travel easy!
February 1, 2016
My husband and I love this cooler! The fact that it is longer than the average cooler, makes it easier to travel with, as it takes up less space. This cooler also has a drain and two cup holders, which makes it extremely useful for wherever your travels take you. We use this cooler while camping and at the beach. I imagine we will have many more years of use with this product!
R2 D2 To The Rescue
October 20, 2015
I love this cooler. I have named him R2 D2. Hey it looks like R2 D2. If you see the picture, I have even made it look more like R2.Anyways, you want to know more about the cooler itself. This cooler is great. It is very large. You can fit so much food in here. My wife and I go camping quite a bit. If we are going to be gone or more than two days we will bring the cooler with us. It can fit all of the cold stuff we need for our trip. It really does hold in the cold a lot longer than your average cooler. With dry ice and several containers filled with water and then frozen, we can get about three days worth, without having to add anything. Actually you have to be careful with dry ice, because anything near it will probably freeze, not just keep it cold.It has two wheels and an extendable handle. I have had no issues with rolling it, even full of food and drinks. It looks like it weighs a ton, but when you need to lift it to get it in your vehicle, it is not as heavy as it looks. It has handles on the sides for easy lifting. The lid hinges open. It does not come all the way off. The lid also has two cup holders built into it. Another plus, is that it has a drainage spout at the bottom of the cooler. The only negatives I have found is, first of all, it takes up quite a bit of room in my car. So, if going on a short trip I just assume take a smaller cooler and adding ice every day. Also, if the cooler is empty or almost empty it has a tendency to tip over easy. More of an annoyance than anything else. All in all it is a great cooler to have. It holds a lot of food and keeps it cool for a lot longer than your average cooler. I highly recommend it if you have the room and on an extended stay without a fridge. If you found this review helpful, please click the "yes" button bellow. Thanks
Great Cooler!
July 23, 2015
After reading several reviews, I chose this cooler and am delighted with my decision. The shape makes it easier to carry and stow than a traditional rectangular cooler, but the wheels are solid and work quite well even on dirt paths. It also has a good amount of space inside. We were able to store several day's worth of food for a family of 3 with space to spare. It kept everything frozen while driving through Fresno heat with a minimal amount of ice packs. I'm confident that it will work quite well for longer periods while camping.
One of the best coolers out there for the money.
May 5, 2015
I bought this cooler recently to use during the many festivals I attend. My most recent use I kept the cooler in my tent so as to be out of the sun. The daytime temperature was in the mid to high 80s with the night time temperature in the low 60s. I filled the cooler with ice and a few drinks on a Wednesday afternoon and when I packed up to leave camp on Sunday afternoon I still had a good amount of ice in the cooler. I would definitely recommend this cooler to anyone who wants great quality and performance at a great price. I will most likely be getting another one of these in the not too distant future.
Stays Cold
August 5, 2014
Energy efficiency (reduced heat transfer) and cost are my top priorities, yours could be different. I bought one of these a couple years ago ($50) and it is holding up well, I have used it a lot. it has an excellent volume to surface ratio and lots of insulation. I have still had ice left after a 4 day festival (I started with a lot). This is also the largest size I can lift into my pick-up by myself. I am willing to deal with the shortcomings. My new one was $39 (the old one still works fine but I have even more stuff to keep cool now).SHORTCOMINGS:- Cubic shape makes it less stable (more tippy) than conventional rectangular shape.- No "tie-downs" to easily secure it in the back of the truck.- Light duty wheels - not for extended or rough use.- Light duty handle that must be down to open the lid.HTH, YMMV ;-)

Looking for cooler for your White Party, this is it!

This was great for my White Party- Diner En Blanc, highly recommend it!
Outstanding Performance !
September 14, 2017
Excellent product. I purchased the 28 qt. with hurricane Irma on it's way. Arrived on time. Long story short, Friday afternoon, when I got to the hotel I filled it with ice. On Saturday, some had melted, not much though and topped it off with more ice. On Monday morning, it was 3/4 ice and only 1/4 water ! Wow ! Great Product ! Best I have seen. Going back to buy the larger size to have on hand.
Works well, easy to manage
October 5, 2016
Very easy to manage. Can hold about a case with little ice. or hold half a case with lots of ice.
A good alternative to the YETI, RTIC, etc. Rotomold cooler.
September 13, 2016
I don't quite think it's going to make it 5 days but it keeps the drinks cold for longer than a day in the heat of the summer and that is what I needed. It is better constructed and sturdier than the basic Igloo. I'm sure a YETI, RTIC, ORCA, etc. would stay cold longer but they cost multiple times what this igloos costs. If you need a good cooler that is well built but aren't ready to spend crazy money on the rotomolds, this is your cooler. I like it.
Awesome for the boat
May 23, 2016
We got this so that we can take it on our boat. We use a smaller cooler and place it on top of it for the fish that we catch and we can easily fit foor in here for a family of 4 for all day. I Like that it sits higher so you can use it as an actual seat too and not feel like you are on the ground. Very pleased with our purchase. My husband likes the fishing rod holders on it and the fact that he can bring 2 liter bottles of soda and of course that his boat doesnt get scratched or scuffed up by the wheels. Please let me know if my review helped in your decision making process one way or the other. =)
Awesome Cooler
March 30, 2014
Perfect for a day or more on the boat. I like the telescopic handle. Love the wheels! I agree with the others that it keeps the ice frozen for a long time. I wheeled mine into the garage after a long day on the water, forgot about it, then emptied it a few days later and there was more ice than water inside. The absence of a drain plug is not a big deal to me, as it's not a giant cooler. I would imagine most people could still pick up and/or tip it over if it was completely filled with water. Highly recommended!

Good basic family cooler.
September 5, 2016
Handy functional cooler for family picnics or campouts. The wheels are very handy when moving from car to campsite, etc. Keeps food and beverages cold for a weekend of heat if packed tightly and opened sparringly. Drain plug in back good for emptying ice melt without lifting and or bailing. I use a wire cookie cooling rack near the top to keep cheese, butter, etc. out of the water. Two negatives: The handles on the side are just recesses in the case, not easy to hold onto handles. The lid doesn't open when the pull handle is extended. Neither is enough to keep me from buying this model again, but both are inconvenient.
Mostly works well, a few flaws
May 25, 2014
The unit works very well for keeping things cold. Ice lasts a long time. We bought it because we had more vertical space than horizontal space in our vehicle and it enables us to store a lot of cold items in a small footprint. However, the handle and wheels would work better if they were more robust. They both work but I'm concerned about either of them breaking because when the chest is full of ice and food it is quite heavy. Also, the top pops out of it's "hinge" from time to time. Overall it's a well designed product that could have been so much better if a little stronger materials were used at critical points. It's not like the old metal Coleman coolers that often lasted for 30 or 40 years. But I think that is the nature of so much industrial design these days, cut costs at the price of quality. I'd buy it again though as there was nothing else out there with a tall profile and insulation in the walls.
Good
August 28, 2013
I got this for under forty bucks and for that price I'm very happy with it. If I would have paid more then I would knock it down a star. It is decently constructed but its not going to last a decade of moderate use in my opinion. I used it on a 3 day trip and it kept everything cold but 70% of the ice did melt away. When full it is quite heavy and I can feel the plastic handles flex - this is an area I suspect may crack over time with repeated use. Compared to other comparable units I'd say it's right on par with them. I apparently got a deal on it and for the price I paid I'm happy. Had I paid the the twenty to thirty dollars more it seems to sell for now, I would be slightly less happy with it.
Almost Perfect
May 25, 2013
First let me say that purchasing and shipping went smoothly no problems there. This is the second MaxCold 70 roller that I've owned in the past six years. The last one was used quite a bit on the job during many a south Texas summer day and it too was almost perfect. This thing when filled with 20lbs of ice will keep food and drinks icy cold with multiple opening and closing of the lid throughout the day. It has large openings on the sides for easy lifting and a collapsible luggage style handle for easy pulling. There is also a handy drain plug located below on the back for draining. The wheels could stand to be larger and if they swiveled would make this easier to navigate. Now like my last MaxCold it also has the problem of the lid falling off the hinge.Let me explain. This lid is attached to the main cube with molded plastic pegs that fit into holes in the cube forming a hinge. Basically the pegs are too short, so without much effort at all the lid pegs pop out of the cube holes and the lid falls off the cooler. My old unit had the same problem but not quite as bad, its disappointing that igloo hasn't fixed this yet.The lid is large and bulky so grabbing it off the ground is a pain even for a guy with big hands like mine. And the fact of the matter is this shouldn't even be happening. That's why I'm giving it four stars and saying its almost perfect. If you don't mind the annoying lid popping off all the time then this is a very good cooler. If you'd rather not have to deal with it then this isn't the cooler for you.
Great Overall, But With One Weird Design Problem
April 6, 2013
It's obviously well put together and really does the job of keeping loads of food or beverages cold for long periods. So, what could be the problem? The problem is a crazy stupid design flaw that causes the cooler to tip over if you fully open the lid when the cooler is empty! The lid is so substantial and heavy that it tips the cooler when there is no weight inside. So, we open the cooler with the lid against something like a wall or table leg until we put in some heavy ice in it. After that, it's smooth sailing! The design team apparently did all their work on a computer screen instead of testing an actual prototype before beginning mass production. Ha!The good news is that it rolls effortlessly behind as you pull it, though larger ruts and cracks in the ground or sidewalk challenge its smallish wheels. The wheels would work even better if they had a rubber outer surface for better traction and quieter rolling. Its small footprint is wonderful for taking up less floor space in small vehicles, but the resultant depth of the cooler can make it a bit more difficult to retrieve items at the bottom.Despite the aforementioned design flaw I am satisfied overall and would recommend it to others who need a well-insulated, good quality, large rolling cooler with a small footprint.
Best lid ever!
December 23, 2012
I do a ton of camping. Really I live in the woods, and I occasionally camp out in the suburbs...you know what I mean. Everyone hates when they are getting ready to go camping, and stuffing as many items as possible into their cooler, and then they have to pound the lid shut. It's not like bags of ice fit neatly into a square, so it always ends up slightly rounded at the top.Well this lid is very thick and is concave underneath, so it makes packing and closing it way easier. One of the other things that this does is make it fairly tall. This may not seem important, but it sits just slightly above a pick up truck bad and is easy to bungee/strap in because of the height. It is the right size for serving as your primary cooler for a long trip, and works well if you are trying to bring tons of drinks to an event. Things stay cold in it for a few days, and if you packed it with ice, depending on weather you could probably get just under a week out of it.Probably the only downside, is that the wheels and handles could be a little more heavy duty. But they get the job done, and save space by not sticking out too much. I would highly recommend this cooler.

Great for what it is
November 30, 2016
Small size and works great. Wonderful for two people. My only complaints would be that the handles could be a little deeper to give you a better grip when lifting. The lid is also a bit hard to open for the same reason. There is also no drainage hole on this small 28-quart cooler, despite what the reviews suggest.
Nice cooler for the price
July 15, 2016
Nice cooler for the price. It is not a yeti, but doesn't have the cost either. The rod holders are nice, but the cup holders could be a little stronger attachment. I would purchase again. Thinking about turning it into a speaker cooler with the Pyle waterproof speaker amp kit: Pyle PLMRKT2A 2-Channel Waterproof MP3/iPod Amplified 6.5-Inch Marine Speaker System
Tall cooler that fits growlers!
May 16, 2016
It's nice and tall and fits beer growlers! I had ice last me 13 hours on a road trip from Mpls to Denver. I opened the cooler about 4-5 times at maybe 30 seconds each time. So, I was pleased with the cooler in this aspect. The only complaint is about the design of the handle on the back of the cooler. I had hoped it would work like carry on luggage where you could pull the cooler up stairs using the hard plastic back to slide it up each stair. However, this design has a lip on the back and doesn't allow you to pull it up a stair or over an object smoothly.
Ice on Wheels!
January 21, 2016
Nice little unit. I like the clean white look, it's sharp. The handle is sturdy and long enough (I'm 6'2" and sometimes that can be an issue). The wheels are sturdy and it rolls nicely. The only thing that prevented a 5 star rating is the ease or lack thereof of opening the lid. It's a little bit of a challenge but not a deal breaker.
Pricey but good
July 13, 2014
Great Cooler! When it first arrived I felt the construction was less then average but I've hauled this thing around and it has done surprisingly well. filled with drinks and food and ice it will keep everything cold most all day in direct sun and more then a day if it is in a shady area. My only complaint so far is it's about 1.5 inches to tall to fit in the trunk of my car and when fully loaded it is quite heavy so sticking it in the back seat is difficult do to its size/weight. Otherwise it has been a fantastic cooler so far!
Test Run Successful
July 8, 2012
To test out my new cooler I put 1 completely frozen gallon of water into the cooler.I left the cooler in my backseat of my car for approximately 8 hours without opening it.The temperature in my car was 100+ degrees (thanks to south Florida heat) and was in direct sun.At the end of the time I removed the cooler and around 1/2 to 1/3 of the jug was still frozen. This appears that it will work for our beach/boat day trips even on the hottest days. The wheels, large plastc that rotates with ease, made carrying the full cooler a breeze when we loaded it up with filled water bottles. We will still need to see how it will roll through sand. The extending handle makes it much easier to transport when full.Arrived fast and as pictured. No complaints here.

Large cooler for the price. Food kept cold but there are some caveats.
December 12, 2015
Very happy with the cooler but the wheels seem cheap. Not sure how long they will last. A couple of thoughts:- Reasonable price for the size.- Keeps food cold just fine.- Molded handles can be difficult to use (after purchasing this, I've learned that I prefer the flip up handles that you can grab.)- Wheels seem flimsy, not sure how long will last- Telescoping handle seems to be of a good quality- Would be nice to be able to sit on it -- but you can't- Cube shape (and depth) make getting food items out (this is usually used on camping trips) a little more troublesomePurchasing this cooler made me realize that I prefer a rectangular shape that is not as deep. Also that physcial handles (instead of molded ones) are much better for carrying.Overall, the cooler works fine. Just be aware of the above.
Keeps Melted Ice Cool.
August 27, 2015
I am disappointed in this cooler, I purchased it with hopes that it would keep things cold for 3-5 days, as long as you can work around completely melted ice your stuff will stay cold, I had bottles of soda and water in mine and they were still cold so I am happy about that, but if you plan to store food or other items in in I would recommend either putting it in a zip-lock bag or looking for another cooler. My Cooler was sitting in a completely shaded area for six days, temperature never got over 72 that week, some nights it was in the 50's, all the soda and water was refrigerated before I put them in the cooler hoping to extend the life of the ice, within 24 hours about 40 percent of the ice melted, I drained that water and added more ice, after that I didn't get more ice, and it was all melted by the next day. The cooler does keep the water very cold as well as the drinks. This product is good for keeping cans or bottles cold as long as you don't mind getting them from a pool of water. If I could do it over again I would research other coolers and brands first, I didn't get a chance to use the cooler during the return period with Amazon so I will have to keep it for now, but it will go in the next garage sale we have
Average-wouldn't buy again
August 1, 2015
Deeper than expected and holds a lot. Ice started melting after 2 days with minimal opening/closing of lid. Nice to have telescoping handle, although it is flimsy and will require careful use. I suspect if it is turned or torqued in any way when the handle is telescoped, it will suffer. Heavy when packed and side indentations for carrying are too shallow to get a good grip. Lid closes easily and snuggly. Nice to have drain hole in the back; simply requires unplugging hole and tipping ice box back alittle. Case constructions seems durable but wheels are nothing special.
NOT happy about at all
December 18, 2014
when the product got here and we opened the box we noticed several dents in the plastic. NOT happy about at all. the box it came in was fine and no tears or breaks but when we unloaded the ice chest it was a different story. if I had bought it locally I would be taking it back and asking for a replacement Would I get it again NO. I am not into buying stuff already dinged or dented.
Nice Cooler but the Cube's Door needs a Capenter
April 30, 2014
This Igloo makes a nice compact roll-away unit, but the hatch opening only opens fully when the handle that pulls out is retracted.Otherwise, this Igloo cube is too big for a 16oz glass but is just right for transporting cool food and milk from the grocery store during a scorching hot sunny day. It also is a very convenient cooler for taking through the store isles and through checkout since it is now more polite to bring your own carrier than be supplied with bagging when processing ones purchases.

It is a good cooler. It has the ice/cold keeping ability of most coolers in this price range which is about 2 days under normal conditions. I like the wheels and the handle but what I don't like is the odor. The cooler, when left closed has a very strong chemical order. After airing it out for a few weeks, yes weeks, I am still waiting for the smell to go away.

Pull Handle is Borderline Quality
February 9, 2015
Pull handle is the weak area of the unit. Gave it as a gift and noted that the recipient had already bent the telescoping part so that it would not recess completely. I suspect they did not abuse the unit but simply treated it with less care assuming it was better quality. Not worth returning or making a fuss.

Not good.
February 14, 2015
Too hard to open, lid too tight. The space to grip the lid to open it is only big enough for the tips of your fingers. Good way to break a nail. Side handles?? are not adequate to properly lift the cooler. Again, room for finger tips only. Dimensions not user friendly. On my SUV, the back area cover will not clear the top of the cooler. Interior dimensions not big enough to handle take out containers from restaurants-unless I lay it on its side.
OKcooler. Could use a drain. Poor handle robustness
August 28, 2014
Good cooler. Like the fact that the lid is hinged. On one I own of similar size, the lid is not attached. Only improvement I'd make to this would be to add a drain plug so you didn't have to turn it over to drain melted ice. Time will tell if the stark white looks grungy & difficult to clean after awhile.Update after 2 years. Handle won't go all the way down, nor will it lock in the up position. I've modified my review to two stars as a result.

The first time I opened it to fill it, the lid fell completely off. The wheels are set so that it only rolls on cement. July 21, 2014
I had purchased this cooler based on others reviews and the Deep discount price on it. I now know why it was discounted so low it is worthless. I recently used it for the first time on a family camping trip which actually required two coolers. The other cooler which was an igloo as well performed incredibly while this piece of junk had to be constantly drained and have more ice added it is marketed as a 5 day cooler i went through 40 lbs in 2 days. I actually apologized to my wife for wasting our money on this piece of garbage. Severely disappointed.
Nice design but fails to keep anything cool for long periods of time
October 28, 2012
This cooler is big. It has rollers for easy transport. It even has cup holders at the top. But it fails to do the most important thing - keeping things cool. It must be an insulation de-fect or design flaw. Or perhaps it's not produced to keep things cool for long periods of time (like 12 hours or a full day). This barely kept things cool for four hours, with ice in it. Everything melted. The problem with good coolers is that someone manages to steal it from you. So I had to purchase a new one. This looked good, but upon using it once, will never use again.DO NOT BUY THIS PRODUCT.
