This is a great little sweeper for daily use around those high traffic areas. It is easy to use and is lightweight. Easy to empty, too. Picks up a lot of dirt and dust bunnies on my throw carpets and flooring. No having to haul out the heavy vacuum!! Highly recommended for dry spills and lightweight daily cleaning!!

Picks up cat hair and is light weight for me as I have a back problem. Meets my expections.

I am very satisfied with this noiseless carpet sweeper. Of course it's not going to do the job of a high powered suction vacuum but it gets up food crumbs, pet hair, and the random detritus of my life. The light-weight and easily stored design makes this my go-to tool for quick clean up. No need to plug it in so stairs can get a quick brush up in between "real cleanings." One can even clean while babies sleep or others watch TV because it's so quiet. Sadly, my favorite part is the dust bin emptying. So satisfying to see what you caught!

Works great! I had one of these in my store where it was very effective for picking up birdseed. I bought this one for my house where I have four cats. It picks up cat hair easily as well as scattered kitty litter. It's light weight and quiet so it's my go-to device when I don't want to have to take out the vacuum. (You know how cats feel about the dreaded vacuum!) The only quibble I have is that the handle, which screws together, sometimes starts to loosen. It can probably be glued together if you don't feel a need to ever take it apart.

I purchased this to use for quick cleanup of the cowhide rug I keep by the back to to catch dirt, mud, and hair from my 3 dogs. It works perfectly. It is quick and thorough!!!! The quality is great!

A great, low-cost, low-tech way to clean your area rugs. I have to empty it frequently or it will just re-distribute the mess, but if I dump it as required it does an excellent job and saved me from having to buy a vacuum just for the rugs. I'd recommend it for small spaces, but don't think you're going to replace your vacuum with this. Would be great to clean up after babies or pets.

This thing is awesome! I bought this for my 3 year old, who begged and begged for a pink vacuum, for Christmas. I know that this is not pink or a vacuum, but with a little effort, and a little more time, I was able to make it pink (see photos). Color aside, it is great. It is literally easy enough a 3 yr old can use it, and more than light enough for her. My floors have never been cleaner! She uses it every day to help, and loves that she is making a difference. Her favorite part is to open the tray and see all of the dirt she picked up! I have even found her, once or twice, making a mess on purpose just so she can use her vacuum. It holds a nice long charge, and does an amazing job on our hard wood floors with out scratching them. I don't have carpet in my house, so I was a little worried when my daughter wanted to take it to my parents house. However, not only did it work on the carpet flawlessly, my parents were shocked at how much it had picked up behind their much more expensive vacuum.Our only complaint, and I'm not sure it would apply to most people, is the charging time. When our daughter runs it completely dead, it takes 5-6 hrs to charge. This seems a little excessive considering the run time. However, we just make sure we plug it in between uses so that it's ready when she wants it.Overall this has been one of the best purchases I've made in a long time. Not only have I made my daughter very happy, I have amazingly clean floors! What more could a parent want?

I have a Shark vacuum but needed a quick product to sweep my hardwood floors. I trusted the Shark name and ordered this product. I'm recovering from a total hip replacement and needed something lightweight to use. When I got it I couldn't believe it was so light! I charged it up and used it on my floors and rugs I have in my dining and kitchen areas. It picks up great! I couldn't believe how much hair and dirt it picked up, I even used it in my livingroon carpet! It's very easy to clean out the trap where the dirt and hair accumulates. I'm very happy with my purchase and this will get me by until I can use my other Shark vacuum. I recommend this to anyone who needs a lightweight floor cleaner! Excellent product.

This is a godsend for people who cannot sweep. My mother has back problems and doctors have actually told her that the sweeping motion of traditional sweeping will exacerbate her condition and a vacuum cleaner is way too heavy for her to push so we tried this option. We are huge fans of Shark and their products as we have had other Shark products in the past. This is great! We have a heavily shedding dog and it picks up the dog hair just fine as well as anything else on the floor. You just have to keep in mind this is a sweeper and NOT a vacuum cleaner as it does not suck items in, it just using the brush to sweep them into the dirt tray. Overall it was a smart buy and the elbow joint that allows sweeping under tables, etc is super clever.

I got one for my mom based on using a friends older version and was so pleased with the results that I got one for myself as well. It picks up hair and cat littler wonderfully. I'm not expecting it to be as wonderful as my shark lift away, just aid me in daily clean up with out having to get the larger vacuum out. Battery life is not long but like as I'm doing spot cleaning it's perfect for my needs. I'm so enjoying it I'm thinking it should be a gift for several people in the future.Edit: so I was able to do a full sweep of my one bedroom apartment (with no carpet) after being gone for 2.5 weeks (I didn't feel like asking friend looking in on my cats to go as far as vacuuming for me) and I barley touched the battery life. So my conclusion is bare floors use less battery than carpet (from using at my moms) and for those questions about pet hair, if picked up short and medium cat hair wonderfully. In addition to some cat kibble, litter and misc dirt. See pic below, very happy with this product. The easy to empty tray is also a plus!

I love this little vacuum/sweeper! My house is mainly hardwood and sweeping it on a daily basis is ridiculous (I have three young kids and two inside dogs... Daily cleanup is a necessity!) so this is perfect. Like others have stated, it isn't for deep cleaning by any means. It will pick up some on my living room rug but I prefer to use my Dyson for that (much more effective). It's perfect for hardwood/tile/lenolium. My four year old and six year old are forever begging to use it- definite plus! It's lightweight and easy to maneuver- I love how it will easily collapse to get under furniture. Very simple to empty and picks up everything! Well worth the money!

I LOVE my SHARK!! Yeah, it's not a detailed, deep sweep, but works great for my purpose. I wanted something inexpensive for my kids to run over the kitchen tile floor after dinner or when they serve a bowl of cheerios and 1/4 of them spill all over the floor. The Shark is awesome and does the job! 10 years ago I had a better model, but I refused to spend $70 for a sweeper that my kids might break after a few uses. So, this is the best thirty-something dollars I've spent in a while. Compared to the better model; it does not get corners very well and if you run it over a regular shag carpet it'll lose power and not have much suction. If there is a lot of small pieces on the floor it seems that you have to run it over the area a little slower than I normally like to move, but my kids are slow, so it works. So easy and effective my 3 year old looks for the shark when she sees crumbs or spills. However, even though it sounds like it doesn't have a lot of power it does pick up large and small things, it will get large pieces like lego bricks/cheerios, some small wrappers/papers and enough small dirt to make it 'til the next broom sweeping (or even hold off for a few days, hee hee). Despite this machine being used everyday I've only had to charge it 2-3 times since I purchased it 2 months ago. I would recommend it to anybody that has kids that leave crumbs on floors, like mine do ;) I would also recommend the squaretade insurance that was less than $4 for the year. If you're looking for power and detail, invest in a Dyson.

In our off grid cottage sweeping and rug shaking torture has ended. Pick up everything, has a pick to pull out long hair so wheels don't bind, emptied out in a snap. Very flat and compact I slide it under a bed. The handle and pole are poor construction they need to be continually retwisted together. I electric taped the 3 areas twice. Needs to be stronger for the amount of vibration

I had looked at several sweepers and didn't fully look at the size of this one before I ordered it. It is smaller than the one I was replacing and it only has one roller. My other one had 3. It was my fault for not being more careful in my evaluation before ordering and for not measuring my other one to make a better comparison. I will keep it for quick pick-up but may look for another one that is more what I want.

The sweeper works great. It picks up animal fur,hair,dust and the like. It comes with its own utensil to clean the roller after each use. My only reservation is that the sweeper is a little smaller in size. Although this size is convenient for small areas, it does mean that you need more time to cover an area. It is so much more convenient than taking out even a small vacuum cleaner

It works great for a fast pick-up. It's light and was easy to put together. The one negative is it's handle is a little short for a tall person.

If you expect this to work like a vacuum cleaner you are expecting too much. It does pick up quite a bit more than I had expected. The rollers seem to catch more dog hair than the holding area. It's easy to empty but the rollers are a little difficult to clean when picking up longer hair or if a string gets caught in it. The handle comes in two pieces to be put together but so far I haven't had any problem with the strength of it. It is holding up good and I have had it for over two months now. My dog is a messy eater and leaves bits behind from chew bones. I use this to pick up the big chunks in between regular vacuum days.

Works on small jobs but don't expect the same results as from a vac. Some reviews say it just pushes debris around; I haven't had any problems but my suggestion would be to bend over pick up the offender. A broom and dustpan would probably do a better job! Works great on pet hair and the receptacles are easy to empty.

It does a pretty good job of vacuuming cat food bits, grass, and cat hair. It doesn't do as good as my large sweeper, but I wasn't expecting it too. Just a nice tool to keeping my floors grit-free. The spot where it plugs in to recharge is kind of a pain. It's down at floor level and I really have to do some fiddling to get it plugged in.

Keep in mind that this lightweight floor sweeper is not your heavy duty vacuum cleaner, and I am really liking this. I bought this to use in between getting out the regular vacuum and have had a good experience so far with it keeping it's charge and picking up small paper, kitty litter, pet hair and the small crumbs on the floor of carpet or hard tile. It is extremely lightweight and I like the function of the handle bending to go underneath furniture.It is not a loud motor at all (basically, the motor is powering the brushes to move and throw the debris into the collection part) so it sounds really weak, but I think it works for what I wanted it for. My daughter also likes using it to sweep in her room because it's not loud at all and very easy and light to maneuver. So far, really glad I purchased!

I have loved Shark since I bought my first little sweeper like this years ago. But I have to say..."new and improved" isn't always better. This one is fine, but it just doesn't pick up as much as the older one did. The old one would pick up backwards and forwards...this one mostly only forwards. And it leaves little "trails" once in a while. If I hadn't previously owned a Shark (and also a Shark Liftaway which I love), I probably wouldn't even give this one the four stars. But I'm thinking maybe I got one that has a flaw or something...giving Shark the benefit of the doubt since most of their products are awesome. Still wish my old one still worked, though...

I would buy this product 10x over. With two toddlers it's a must in our house. I use it to clean up after meals and crumbs throughout the day. It doesn't clean as wells as a broom in corners and tight places, but I always sweep at mint after a day of quick cleans with the shark. This isn't a vaccum, so don't buy it if that's what you want. It's a sweeper. The only reason I took a seat away was because the batteries only last a few months before they won't charge anymore. The use I get out of it, completely makes up for this though.

For the money it is ok. Does not pick up when you pull back. Only picks up going forward. Battery lasts well but I have only had it a short time.

It will pick up kitty litter, but the materials are not durable. It performance was less than expected.

I must admit i laughed when i saw this out of the box, I'm like omg i paid how much for this toy?, but after using it, it does a pretty good job, it beats the bissell I bought not to long ago. Needless to say i am impressed, still like my electric vacuum, but this does a pretty good job in between times.

The sweeper is a good product, but the Amazon partner who listed it for sale did not disclose that the handle had bee broken off from the body of the sweeper. It had only been spot welded in manufacturing and probably broke the first time it was used and then returned to the original seller. I took it to a local auto body shop and had it welded the way it should have been originally. Cost us an extra $10 for the repair but now is working fine as a quick clean-up utility sweeper designed for light use.

When I first got this I thought it was the best sweeper for quick pick ups. I was buying an old been around forever name, so they have to know what they are doing, right? No, with in a week the handle snapped off at the sweeper head. It is made of steel so I thought it would have lasted. It however did a great job at picking up on all my different floor types. I was so disappointed when it broke, I really liked it, until it broke.

This manual carpet sweeper picks up hair and dust better than any I've ever had. HOWEVER, it is *very* small, so many more strokes are required to get the job done. I was surprised at the small size, and wish a larger model was available, but I'm glad I have this one.

This is a replacement for one I had years ago. Unfortunately the quality is not as good as the handle comes in segments and is not as sturdy, the clip on brush cleaner does not stay clipped on and is easy to lose, and the pick up does not seem quite as good. I would probably not buy this brand again but might try out another brand.

We have used these sweepers for years and replaced them as they wore out. This one, however, doesn't seem to do as good a job as the ones we've owned in the past, even though our last one was the exact same model. I've always liked this brand, but am starting to lose confidence in them.

For the price it works well enough. Not as good as other Sharks that I bought in the past. The price keeps going up and the quality goes down.

I had the larger version of this sweeper for several years and I liked it but I don't care for this one. It is noisy, messy to empty, and not nearly as powerful as the larger version. If you have heavy rugs or carpet, this is not the one for you. Luckily, I have mostly tile but would not recommend this to anyone.

The carpet sweeper is ok, it picks up good on carpets as well as flooring , easy on small bathroom rugs, Easy to empty the dirt cup & the one thing is charging, Plug it in and left for 2 hr s and charge was weak., turned it on and recharged , it worked. need to make sure nothing fully charged.

This shark isn't going to set any cleaning records and has a couple of challenges, but it's OK. The main problem I've had is that it will, for no apparent reason, decide to bite into the short-nap area rug and not want to let go or move forward (It IS a shark after all). Other times on the same rug it will go back and forth quite smoothly. Once it's happy and working right, it does a pretty good job of removing the dirt and hair. Works better on bare floors. Once I got used to its quirks, we get along fine. And I really like the feature that allows me to easily angle the handle so that it goes under furniture.

A pretty good product .....holds a battery good. Just not what I would expect out of a shark product. I use it ever morning after breakfast and night before bed. I have 2 dogs and 2 cats so lots of hair. And it picks it up pretty good à lot better them a broom which just makes the hair fly around. now I just have to sweep once a day before I mop. Instead of 3 to 4 times a day

Very easy to put together, but not very good at picking up crumbs or pet hair. Also, the brushes also do not deposit the crumbs into the waste area since the brushes come back around and fling the crumbs back out.

I'm giving this sweeper two stars because it worked well for a year and then fell apart. It's a little higher priced than some of the other options out there so I would have expected it to last longer. I used it weekly to pick up litter off the carpet near the cat litter box. The last couple of times I used it before it fell apart, it pretty much just pushed the debris around, only sweeping up about half of what it should have caught. It's in the trash now. I'm going to buy a cheaper brand because even if that one only lasts a year, at least I didn't spend much.

I was extremely disappointed in this product. I have purchased cheap carpet sweepers in the past, and been disappointed. This time I paid about twice what I had spent in the past. Apparently I am going to have to spend a LOT more to get something that works. I tried it on one type of carpet, a short plush, I had to go over and over and over again before it would pick anything up. I could have bent over and picked the stuff up quicker and easier. I then tried it on a short bur bur carpet. It was slightly better, but not enough to write home about. I tried it on a laminate floor in my kitchen. There it did better. But that wasn't where I really wanted to be able to use it in the first place. The size is also very small. To cover any area at all you must make a large number of passes. I would not recommend it to anyone for use on carpet of any kind.

I have two very destructive rat terriers who enjoy ripping their toys to shreds. The also like rolling around in dry grass and leaves, then coming in the house and rolling around on the rug. I ordered this carpet sweeper to supplement my daily vacuuming, and it worked fine on the grass and leaf bits, but it actually made the toy stuffing worse. It would get caught in the brush and then spread the fibers in a thinner coating all over the place. I had to return it. Sigh.

I would have returned this product, however, I missed the return window by two days...horrible rechargeable vacuum. At full charge would barely pick up a piece of confetti much less deep dust and dirt within the carpet. Forget it if you have any kind of textured carpet as we do here at work. It would be faster to pick up the debris with my bare hands! Don't bother. Go ahead and Spend money on a superior product. This one was a waste of $35. :(

Thought this was awesome at first. However, 6 weeks into owning it now using on a regular basis it doesn't even last 2-3 days without charging it. It seems to start losing its charge/rotation speed after a few minutes of use. For reference I use it for about 10-15 minutes daily going through high traffic areas. By day 3 it's barely chugging along. Plus it takes forever to charge every time you charge it. It does work if you are willing to charge it every other day for 8 hours to have 20-30 minutes of use. Bummed I'm outside of my return window

This is our second Shark. The first one (different model) lasted about 6 years and we got our money's worth. This new one worked well, but it's got too many fragile joints (knee, multiple degrees of freedom at the base). This is great for sweeping, but after about 4 months, the handle broke off at the swivel base and rendered the device useless. I epoxied it back together (less one degree of freedom), but it snapped again. We will try another brand for replacement.

After fully charging it still sounds like it's going to die at any second. Although it does "brush" up the dirt into the little cup, there is no vacuum involved. I was looking to replace a little hand vacuum that I use a few times a day just to suck up the debris the dogs track in and thought a Shark product would be awesome. My daughter owns the regular version and loves is, so I thought the lightweight, cheaper version would work for my quick runs through the house. Unfortunately, this is not so.

Purchased this product and it worked for a few days and then would not recharge. Shark quickly sent out a replacement battery that did not fix the problem. Now I am outside my 30-day return window at Amazon and Shark is telling me that my options are to have the product returned to them for repair or replace but I have to pay shipping both ways, or I can buy a new unit at a discounted price plus pay S&H. So what started as a ~$35 purchase will necessarily spike to ~$55 with these options. Abominable that Shark does not cover expenses on a defective unit. When it did work in the beginning, it was very low power and I preferred a broom and vacuum anyway. But that may be because ours was defective. My kid and my mother like how light weight it is. That's why I give it two stars at all.

I have owned 2 previous Sharks and this one seemed as close to those as I could find. However, it doesn't do much unless the mess is in the middle of the floor. My other Sharks would get up stuff close to wall and cabinets. Now I have to sweep first. I would not buy again!!!

Returning this asap. Very disappointed, all it did was push the crumbs around on hardwood floor. Back to the ole broom and dustpan.

was looking for something quick and easy, but was disappointed. Did not pick up as advertised. Handle was very difficult to move (all parts in place were snug) as well. Returned and would not buy another like it.

Read my other reviews. I normally either love it or hate it. They had one thing to do correctly, but opted not to do it. The overall quality is great. BUT - where the pole screws into the connector for the sweeper portion ~ it doesn't screw in. I even tried to put some Teflon tape on the threads to screw it in. Sucks. Looks like I am the one who got screwed. Don't buy. There are other products made by companies who really care to build a complete quality product. To quote the internet, "... you had one job to get right." If you buy one, don't complain to me. I'll just say, "I told you so!"

I bought this sweeper, specifically to pick up cat hair in between vacuumings. For me, it doesn't work - not on the living room area rug; not on the wall to wall carpeting in the bedrooms. I have two cats, one a long-haired Maine Coon and the other a short-haired pound kitty. It doesn't work on either type of hair. For such an expensive purchase, I would have expected MUCH better.

I bought this vacuum in June, it is now September and it has already broke. I called Shark and they said it sounds like a battery issue since it will not charge. The super nice and friendly man told me that Shark does not warrenty the battery so I will have to buy a new battery. The battery was $50!!! For that much I will just buy a new vacuum!Buy the Bissell Perfect Sweep Turbo, I’ve had it for over a year and it still works!

cleans only in forward sweep, and not well. This only has one brush. Picks up dirt, but only after going over the same area several times. I would not buy again. The cheaper swivel sweeper cleans much better, but has a rechargeable battery. This sweeper does not hold a charge very long.

This just didn't work at all. Charged as instructed. I bought another one from a different store and hopefully it will work as I loved my old Shark. Wish they sold them in stores. It also takes time to receive one so be patient.

I did soooo much research when buying this item I read the reviews that said you must not over charge it. I read the manual as well and I made sure the second it was done charging I unplugged it. I also ran it until the battery dies as suggested. I had it for 3 months and with each charge (maybe once every 2 weeks) the battery life was shorter and shorter. i charged it on Tuesday of this week, went to use it today and I didn't even get through my bathroom before I felt the significant decline in the battery power. I'm so disappointed!! It worked AWESOME the first 2 months!! But that's all I got out of it and I only used it maybe 2 times a week, for 5-10 mins. :(

Ok I got this less than seven weeks ago, worked ok, for the first couple of weeks then all of a sudden it stopped charging. It's always plugged in but when you use it you hardly get a minute and a half of use before dying. The handle is badly structured that you have to be super careful not to put force on it or it'll break. Just Dont east your time or money with this sweeper.

I love these as a rule, but this model is a piece of junk. Didn't know to measure, buy the 12", you won't be disappointed.
