Very rugged, somewhat heavy, just the right shape and length
August 29, 2017
Wow! These are heavy. They appear to be black powder-coat finish (I could be wrong) and durable as heck. The weight is not a problem, they're not That heavy, but compared to the wooden and plastic units I have used, I expect these shoehorns will outlast me.I've had wooden ones chip, plastic ones crack, but these - these you might be able to run over one with a car and it wouldn't be the worse for wear. (I haven't tried it.)If you use long shoehorns and toss them across the room or onto the bed when done putting on your shoes, I wouldn't try it with these without aiming carefully to avoid breaking something.I am Very Pleased with these (I bought two) and would recommend them to anyone who is looking for durability.
A lifetime device
January 17, 2017
Lavishing praise upon something as mundane as a shoehorn feels ridiculous, but the truth is that when you find an item that improves your life and requires not a single thought about it after its purchase, it's very freeing. My husband likes to use a shoehorn so he doesn't smush the back of his fancy dress shoes every morning when he goes to work. I was replacing his shoe horns every 6 months, because he's really rough (gr). He had a plastic one that broke, so I got a metal one. Whoops, the metal one has a handle that pops off all the time and I'm constantly gluing it back together. It's a semi-frequent frustration to deal with, and it's really not something I care to expend mental energy on. And then this shoe horn came into my life. It's long enough that my 6'4" husband doesn't have to bend down to put on his shoes. It is made of only one piece, so there's nothing to break off. It's super sturdy, so it won't be bending or warping. Done. Keep it by the door and never have to think about a shoe horn again. We will probably pass this thing down for generations, it's that sturdy. The downside: it's kinda heavy, so a person with bad arthritis might not be able to use it. However, it's great as impromptu home defense, if needed.
Very sturdy shoehorn. GREAT FOR REMOVING COMPRESSION SOCKS.
March 29, 2016
I purchased a second one to have available at our "snow-bird" home. After having broken a few plastic shoe horns, this steel one allows me to be as forceful as needed.BTW, this shoehorn works great for peeling off compression socks. Just roll the socks down a few inches, insert the spoon end down the inside all the way to the heel, and apply leverage. Normally, the socks will slide right off the feet.
Good Product
October 21, 2015
Long enough for a 6'1" person to use easily. Well constructed and not thin nor flimsy so using on boots should not be a problem. A little short of the thickness of a nickle.
Perfect
April 16, 2015
It's a rare thing for me to write a review; even more so for a seemingly prosaic item like a shoe horn. In it's class, however, this is a perfect product, the proverbial "one-hoss shay". I like long shoe horns, to help with boots and to minimize stooping. I've had many, over time, made of wood and plastic, that eventually broke, had to be repaired and, ultimately, to be replaced. I saw this in Amazon and was concerned that a 31.5 inch steal shoe horn might be excessive, like a bullet-proof dog collar or a lifetime supply of fish food (I have neither a dog nor a fish). Such was not the case, however; the length is exactly right, and the thickness of the steel is such that I am certain I will never bend it, without it being too heavy. While I realize such a discourse on a shoe horn may seem frivolous, I actually marvel every time I use it at how perfectly it suits the task for which it was designed. If you have every thought you might, even occasionally, need such an item, buy it.
This product will enrich your life especially if you have health issues
March 5, 2015
Pros:➢ Sturdy.➢ Perfect length.➢ Don’t have to bend over to put on shoes.➢ Great for folks with a bad back or other health issues.Cons:➢ Makes me feel lazy.Personal Experience with Product:I bought this product for one simple reason. I’m lazy. I’m not in bad shape or anything I just hate bending over. I figured it was the greatest invention since bacon cheeseburgers. And I told all my friends about it. Slipping on shoes was as easy as flipping the channels on a remote control. Then I realized it was a little too easy. My heart filled with shame. I was embarrassed to slip my shoes on in front of my wife, thinking she'd internally condemn my laziness. Then a friend of ours slipped on some ice and hurt himself. He’s an older gentleman with a bad back and neuropathy. I gave the shoehorn to him. He loves it! It’s helping him so much. Bottom line: If you have health problems that make it difficult to bend over: Get. This. Shoehorn. It’s built to last. It will make your life so much easier.

Everyone needs one.
August 2, 2017
Everyone needs a shoe horn. I'm always surprised by the number of people who have never used one before. For a while, this sat besides my house's shoe rack, unused by my roommates or guests until I finally told them what it was for and showed them how to use it. Needless to say, they fell in love immediately. This shoe horn is nothing special, but it looks good, is cheap, well constructed, and gets the job done. If you're looking to fulfill those criteria, look no further.
A++ Shoe horns
August 1, 2017
I like stainless steel as it does slide better. This is a great shape...even deals with my narrow heels as I would expect it to work well with much wider heels. The hold for one's hand is at a great angle and is large enough for me to get a good grip despite hands that are not as strong as they once were. I an glad I ordered two - one for home and one for the gym bag.
My Shoe Horn. Aaoogah!
May 3, 2017
What can you say about a shoe horn? It doesn't need batteries. It doesn't wake you up at night. You don't have to feed it. Yet, it's one of those things that everybody should own. It makes it so much easier to put on a pair of shoes. This was the same price as a cheap plastic one but it's stainless steel. I hope that this one doesn't break.
Great shoe horn for getting prosthetic foot in shoes
May 2, 2017
My son has a prosthetic leg and we run into trouble getting on his shoes at times, since the foot is not flexible. After using a spoon to help leverage it in, I knew I needed a shoe horn. This one was recommended by Amazon and had great reviews. It has made changing shoes an easy chore instead of an intense work out.

Great product, helps alleviate morning meltdowns from frustrated 6 year olds who can't quite shove their foot into shoes on their own yet. My 6 and 7 year old can use the small side on their own and my husband uses the larger side. Well worth the cost!
Does What it Should
July 8, 2015
This is the first shoe horn that I've ever owned, so I'm not quite sure what to say about it considering I don't have anything to compare it to.I've tried bending it just about as hard as I could and the thing didn't even budge. It also works great for what it's meant for. It's thin and doesn't get in the way of your foot going in to the shoe, at least it doesn't for me. The only room for improvement could be the handle, as it's not very ergonomic, but nonetheless doesn't really both me much at all.All in all, for the price, it's a great buy.

The device works great, but because it is so long

Bought this for my mom. The device works great, but because it is so long, it encourages her to put her shoes on while standing - perhaps not the best thing for stubborn elderly.
31 inch long stainless steel shoehorn!
March 4, 2016
Kinda funny story....I will start by saying I love the 24 inch stainless steel shoehorn that I own. I use it for more than just putting on my shoes. It's a hook, a grabber, a "dragger", and can even be used for self-defense. I thought I was buying a 2nd one and I have now learned to pay attention and READ the description of what I am purchasing. This one seems way too long but then again I'm only 58 inches tall so naturally it's understandable I would feel that way. It's twice as long as my arms and if I stand to put on my shoes it comes up to my waist. It is sturdy and very good quality. If you are tall I'm confident you will will find it useful.
Just what I needed!
March 2, 2016
Was looking for a long shoe horn that would make it easier to slide my feet into a couple pairs of western boots that are very stiff in the heel area. It worked like a charm; no struggling to get the boots on anymore! Would have given 5 stars, but the metal is ever so slightly bendable, and I'm wondering how it might be affected after lots of usage.
Perfect except for poor finish on nail hole
January 9, 2016
This is just the right length. The metal is very sturdy. The paint has just the right slipperiness. The only problem is that the hole in the top for hanging it was not finished properly. It’s a little rough. It’s not exactly ragged or sharp and I don’t think it would cause a cut, but it is not a good finish. If it weren’t painted, I’d smooth it with a file, but that would destroy the paint. So, 4 stars. Otherwise, a great shoe horn.
I thought I ordered the right handed one
August 24, 2015
I thought I ordered the right handed one, but I think it's for left handers. Kidding aside, it's a very nice, quality tool. The length requires no bending on my part(5'10"). I highly recommend it.
Well Made But Needs A Small Enhancement
August 4, 2015
At 82 years, It is really nice not to have to bend over to get my shoes on. The item is very sturdy and you cannot ever bend or break it with normal use. However, I found holding the steel 1/3 semicircle that extends all the way from the shoe end to the top was uncomfortable. I went thru a large roll of cloth adhesive tape wrapping it around the top for a 6 inch grip. This removed the steel edges that made it uncomfortable when holding. The only improvement I would make is to add a smooth rounded handle wrapping the steel at the top. For a FRAIL PERSON it might be a bit heavy as it is all steel.

Nagged into writing a review but the thing works
April 19, 2017
I'm writing this review bc the company kept emailing me asking me to write a review. I deducted one star simply bc of it being a nuisance. I bought a shoe horn to help my dtr put on her speciality dance shoes easier bc they fit very tight and being only a shoe horn it has no nutritional value, won't help bring world peace or save endangered species but it did help with putting on shoes.
Ron Swanson says: "This is a shoe horn. It helps you put on your shoes."
March 16, 2016
If Ron Swanson were asked to write a review about this shoe horn, he would say, "This is a shoe horn. It helps you to put on your shoes. It is made of metal. It is a good shoe horn. People who buy things are foolish."I write this review under duress from the Shacke company. They were so concerned with my satisfaction that they sent three (!) emails asking if I liked it, and please would I review it. At first I thought, "This is just a shoe horn. No one reads a review for a shoe horn." And yet, after realizing how important it was to them, I will give my complete and unbiased review below. Please settle back in your chair and follow along with me on this wild and crazy ride.REVIEW OF SHACKE METAL SHOE HORN 7.5 INCHESSummary: This shoe horn is 7.5" long. It is made by Shacke. It is metal.I purchased this shoe horn to help put on my shoes. I will admit that it does that. The purpose of a shoe horn is to protect the upper heel of your shoe so that you do not crush the leather when squeezing your feet into them. This shoe horn does that.Pros: - metal construction = long life - handy hole to hang - shiny shinyCons: - the shoe horn is too wide for my size 11 shoes; it digs into the edges more than I would like - the edges are not very well polished, i.e., they are somewhat sharp and dig into my socksFinal conclusion from Ron Swanson: "You are here because you need a shoe horn. Buy the shoe horn. Or don't buy the shoe horn. I'm not your mother. You don't have to do what I say.
Horrible for eating your morning cereal
February 13, 2016
Horrible for eating your morning cereal, but can be done. Too short as a back scratcher. Not enough torque for serious engine work. Worst TV remote ever. Somewhat helpful for dental extractions. But hey, it's a freakin shoe horn. If you're reading this review, you need to just buy it and move on with life. It works as advertised.
Basic well made shoe horn
February 5, 2016
Bought this shoe horn some time ago, used it but not that frequently, not every shoe of mine require it.Positives: Metal, decent size, well made basic but good design. What I would change:1. Edges are not well finished, they are squared and may be a bit finished but still pretty sharp, not enough to cut but enough to notice that something could be done better (for me). If I would be asked, I would recommend rounding up ages for a better feel. I amy take a sanding block and do it myself.2. Hole in the handle is small and if you want to hang it on the hook, ether something need to be attached or hook need to be very thin, bigger hole will allow for a more options. I guess small hole was a necessity for being two sided use as listed in the description.Outside of this it is basic well made item that should last a lifetime.
Metal Shoe Hore Review My Personl Expereince Order Of It
September 13, 2015
I'm 61 years old. This Product is a solidly constructed strong shoe horn, you get what you see pay for, a life long product not going to break or wear out is the bottom line. If you have a hard time reaching down to hold a shoe horn like this one, it would not be good for you to order a shoe horn engineered with a handle extension, a long handle to help you more easily to use, which I should have chosen instead in hindsight. A shoe horn with a long handle would be easier to use for someone with not so good flexibility a better choice. I have managed to be able to learn to use this shoe horn somewhat, in closing it is a well made products for anyone that can easily reach down to the shoe level, hope that helps, Peace and Goodwill.

Holy richard cotton! It's a shoe horn. It works. These people are annoying. They keep sending me e-mails to review, a show horn. For the love of my sanity, leave me alone. It's a shoe horn. It's metal. It helps put your shoe on. Why the hell would this thing need a five star review. It's a frikkin' shoe horn. It's cheap, you have prime, I ordered it.

Too Long-Measure Before You Buy It
November 20, 2015
Its too long. I thought it would be useful when putting on my tall boots but its length is an impediment to getting them on because you can't bend over at all when you are trying to use it or it pokes you in the chest or arm pit. It must have been designed for people who have to do everything standing up and cannot bend over and it is useless for boots.I use it for tucking my jeans into the boots after I pull them on (instead of a ruler) and will get a shorter one.
Maybe when I older I can use it better.

a decent shoe horn, but use with some care
September 28, 2016
It's a metal (chromed?) shoe horn, so it's funny that Amazon is asking how it fits! However I do find that it's a little wide in the heel for my medium width feet but it doesn't stretch the heel of the shoe out, so that's ok, however I don't like that the edge at the bottom of the shoe horn isn't smooth. It's a little hard to describe, but the best way to descripbe it is a little sharp, like it wasn't filed to a rounded edge very well. It's clearly stamped from a sheet then bent and finished, and I think the stamping process left a burr. This means when I put it deeper into the heel of the shoe, so it's touching the leather lining on the bottom of the foot area of the shoe, and put my foot in, the shoe horn will scrape across the leather noticeably and has left some scratches in the leather from doing this. I don't want to mess up the leather on my Mephisto and AE shoes so it does require some care when using it.
Good product, seller is annoying.
February 14, 2016
The shoehorn? Great. Can't go wrong with a nice heavy duty shoehorn that won't bend and doesn't have sharp edges to snag on my socks. The seller on the other hand? Well, I got my product quickly and everything was right, probably because Amazon handled all the shipping and ordering side of the transaction. But then I started getting emails from the seller reminding me how long it has been since I placed my order and hounding me for feedback. Now I understand that as a seller feedback is important, even if you're not doing anything other than collecting a check from amazon. However, if you must grovel for feedback, one email is sufficient. Any more than that and I'm gonna get pissed off. I get enough BS in my email as it is. So don't spam me and I'm good. How's that for feedback?

July 5, 2015
At-a-glance Review: - Product worked as advertised. - Construction is solid (per description) - Length is good; easy to pack into your duff for a weekend trip - Edges were cut with laser precision.Personal note: - For me, the edges were a little sharp. I'm not worried about cutting my hand, but I am worried about scratching up the leather on my shoes. - I deployed the shoe horn and as I slid my foot in, the shoe horn grazed the sole. - I looked and to my dismay, it actually scratched the leather. - While it is definitely great to support America (made in the USA), I'll be going to the plastic one I'm using in the interim.
Does the job but has semi-sharp edges
June 11, 2015
A tip to readers: make sure you don't put these in all the way so that it touches the insole. I made this mistake when putting on my new expensive dress shoes and it scuffed the insoles BADLY when I went to put my foot in. I've read that you're not supposed to put the shoe horn in so far that it will touch the insole, but that wasn't very intuitive to me so I'm taking off two stars for the semi-sharp edges. If you're strapped on cash, these will serve fine but if you want a more comfortable feeling in hand and not worry about scuffing your insoles, spend the extra money on a shoe horn with smoother edges.
Okay
October 12, 2014
Hesitant to give this the great review everyone else has. It is a shoe horn and will likely perform it's task. I find the size extremely large so that it cuts into the heel of the shoe of an average size (size 9). The reverse, small side works better, though a little small, and designated with the hanging hole which would be impractical if used frequently. For such the rave reviews the actual piece came 'semi finished'. Meaning the edges were not fully polished and the product looked to be somewhat used. Not a big factor for me for such a utilitarian piece, just noticeable with some of the other inherent flaws in the design.I actually prefer the free, simple and cheap shoe horns I got from the shoe stores while purchasing shoes.

You wouldn't think it was possible to screw up a shoe horn, but...
November 30, 2016
The edges of this shoe horn are sharp and its arch is broader than my heel, so it digs into the inside of the shoe on each side. Time will tell if this ends up cutting through the leather. The curve of the shoe horn should be smaller, closer to that of a typical heel, and the edges should be rounded so as not to damage nice shoes.
Good solid metal
February 16, 2016
It's too flat where it fits into your shoe. It needs to be more rounded. And the metal edges are a little sharp. I took a hammer, anvil, and sandpaper to mine and although it looks all banged up now, it works well. Good solid metal. No rust.
Would Be Good If One Change Made
January 22, 2016
Very sturdy but we don't use it because of the sharp edge. If the sharp edges had been ground to be rounded we'd be pleased with this product. As it is we don't want the sharp edge scraping the leather or man-made material that is the top of the heel of each pair of shoes. We have two long shoehorns both with rounded edges and will be looking for a short one that has the same.
Eaten by garbage disposal.
December 22, 2015
Appears well made. Convenient size and shape. Shipping was quick. Unfortunately it arrived looking like it had been run through a garbage disposal - small but deep dings all over the face of it. The picture doesn't show the full extent or depth of the damage. The packaging was pristine, so I assume it was packed that way. Still does what it needs to do, but the finish is very dissappointing.
Not Again!
July 15, 2015
I bought this expecting it to work well. it has "sharp" edges. not enough to cut skin but I am sure it will soon leave cut marks in my socks. It does seem to work as I expected, i just expected a smoother more professional product. More time could have been taken to remove punch tabs and burrs.

Bent Badly Upon Immediate Use Out of Package
May 15, 2015
I was hoping to find a shoe horn that I could use with one hand to put on house shoes. I am trying to break a bad habit of walking into my house with muddy shoes. I know that most people love kick of there shoes upon entering their home after work or outside choirs, but as an amputee removing shoes decreases mobility. Decreased mobility means household tasks take longer and that's time I don't have. Furthermore, after an active day day at work I have to sit down after coming through my house door to remove work shoes and slip on house shoes. Sitting down gives sore muscles opportunity to stiffen and reduces all the mojo I had workin' (momentum/motivation) to complete choirs. I don't another reason to put of until tomorrow what could be done today.
