Ready to get another one
August 30, 2016
This does a good job of supporting my ankle and is easy to put on (just follow the instructions printed in the heel space). I am about ready to purchase a replacement since the foam under my heel gets compressed over time.
Great product, and at a great price!
April 22, 2016
After searching all over the place for a supportive ankle brace, I found this on Amazon at a great price. I really respect the brand so I gave it a shot. It has been a complete ankle saver. I wear it during every single workout and have washed it several times it still looks brand-new.
Glad I bought it

Keeps foot stabilized without feeling wrapped like a mummy. Easy to put on and take off.
At long last, a truly good product
July 8, 2013
My daughter found this brace for herself and had me try it for my bad ankle for support. It keeps me walking!! great quality especially the velcro. My podiatrist gave me a lame one for $140.00 that literally fell apart. This was all of $11.00! Good job Mueller
used it for months!

it worked great to help me get better. I have a small ankle, I am not sure I'd recommend it for Large or Extra-large people. I wear medium clothing, weight 165#.
Provides adjustable support and stabilization
April 4, 2013
Recently I felt my left Achilles tendon painfully stretch as I walked up a couple of stairs. My heel was very painful and felt swollen. I wrapped an ice pack around it for a few days without much relief. So, I looked at Amazon and after reading the reviews I bought the Mueller Adjustable Ankle Stabilizer, Black, One Size. This product provides adjustable support and helped relieve my pain when wearing around the house or over a sock as I slept. I began to feel relief just from the support it provided my foot as soon as I put it on each day. I highly recommend using this if you have a stretched, strain, sprain or other ankle pain that is not indicative of any serious or underlying injury. There are two stretchy Velcro support straps you pull up and around to provide as much or as little support you need. You can wash in the sink with dish soap and air dry as needed to keep fresh.

I twisted my ankle badly, and once I was out of the airboot, this support came in very handy. I wore it for a few months while my ankle regained it's strength.
Helped my recovery from a torn achilles tendon
November 14, 2016
Recovering from a torn achilles tendon, this brace I wore after the cast came off. The PT doctor wanted to sell me a brace like this for $25.00 found this on Amazon for $9.00. Mueller is a great brand for athletes and x-athletes (which I am), This gives my tendon support, along with ankle support and gives my arch support....triple win....highly recommended. For me I thought at first it was going to be too small but after I wore it twice it has some give and was able to confirm to my foot. You can wear it with a shoe, my suggestion I found it was a more comfortable of a fit when I put a sock on first then the brace.
Yay for ankle support
July 26, 2016
This is my second Mueller support just like it. I have an old injury that I can easily hurt if I don't wear proper support and I can't find anything I like better than this brace. It isn't rigid at all, it just provides a snug wrapping somewhat like athletic tape only way better. I rotate mine in and out and I just attach the velcro before I pop it in the washer. I have had my first one for six years, wearing it on and off, and I have a hard time telling which is the new one and which is the old one unless they are side by side. For a constant comfortable moderate support, this is the best I have ever used.
Awkward but helpful
July 3, 2016
I've had a problem with my ankle for years, ever since I twisted my ankle in high school. This thing here really helps when my ankle starts acting up. It's a bit awkward to put on. Feels like it should be someone putting it on you rather than you putting it on yourself. The instructions are easy but if you're not kinda flexible folloejnv the first instruction is a bit tough. The strap labeled A is a bit difficult but you get used to it. Your foot does sweat while wearing it but it really provides really good support. Overall, I love it.
Ankle compression and support
May 2, 2016
I bought one of these years ago for a previous ankle injury and I absolutely loved it. I can adjust it according to the pressure I need that day. It is perfect for exercise or daily use with most shoes. I like the crossover straps because I can tighten directly over the affected area where I experience swelling. This helps support my ankle for many activities like walking, standing, exercising, etc and it helps my ankle not to swell.I lost my previous one while moving and could not find another like it at the store I bought from previously, but thankfully Amazon had one at an amazing price. One thing I have to do differently is that where it says "Place heel here," I can't do that comfortably. I have to place that part on the back of my ankle and then adjust the straps to the tightness and support I need.
Exactly what I needed
February 16, 2016
This is been one of my absolute favorite brace ever. It provided the perfect amount of support.First, I do high intensity interval workouts, which require sudden, explosive movements, including forwards, backwards, and lateral. I twisted my ankle once, which led it to being easier and easier to twist. It got to the point I could hardly use it and had to stop working out. Then weeks later, I would twist it again, only to start the process over. I bought this hoping to help with the healing process so I wouldn't keep injuring myself continuously. It worked like a charm. Not only did it keep me stable enough to walk, I could work out again! I was eventually able to move into only wearing it to work out, and now, it has healed enough to not even really need it.

Perfect balance between stability and mobility
June 3, 2014
As an Ultimate frisbee player looking to protect a sprained ankle, this brace worked great. I needed something pretty firm as I'd be running and cutting with my foot a lot, but it still needed to have enough give for me to actually move it. This brace is a great balance of both. It is easily adjustable and fits pretty well. The only con is that on my size 9.5 feet (somewhat small for a guy), the bottom part of the brace doesn't quite reach to the arch of my foot. It's too close to my heel and doesn't sit in the middle of the arch. This results in a little discomfort over a long period of time. It's not noticeable when playing, but if I wanted to wear it indoors I sometimes had to take breaks. Usually you don't need to wear a brace during that time anyways though.
exactly what I needed
December 8, 2013
the first 2 weeks after my wrenched ankle, any sort of lateral movement or rotation brought UNGODLY PAIN. especially when I was sleeping and the slightest leg movement would cause ankle movement and wake me right up with *searing pain*this thing restricted just about all movement (except front to back - which was fine, because walking with straight motion did not hurt at all) and that was perfect.compression also helped reduce swelling, although the plastic side supports would start to dig in and cause swelling if worn too long.wearing over bare skin, I don't recommend. all the seams everywhere dug in and it also resulted in lots of sweat. it fit just fine over a normal sock and even over a 3x thick wool sock. (size 8-1/2 / 9 shoe, YMMV)
Good Figure-8 Wrap Alternative
September 20, 2013
This device provides pretty good tight support. The Velcro connections hold well but the connectors across the top of the foot and the front of the leg could be longer (if you have wide feet you'll have trouble making the connection.) The figure-8 straps are long enough and hold very well. Provides good support for sleeping with a sprained or broken ankle. There is hard plastic support built in and these pieces can be painful so don't expect to walk a lot in this device.
Stabilizes nicely
January 3, 2013
I would give it 5 stars if it allowed for a larger ankle/lower calf of leg. When I wear the support, my ankle hurts less and I walk better. My problem is that my ankle and lower leg are swollen and I can barely get the wrap to secure. It would be nice if the product provided more materiel to allow for support of swollen ankles. It cannot be considered a brace for sports. This is simply a stabilizer product to be used for weak ankles that are causing you to walk unnaturally.

Supports the ankle
December 4, 2015
I bought this for my dad who was having issues with his ankle. He tried the wrap and some other things, but had a hard time with those. This one works for him and but his ankle is a bit bigger so the Velcro doesn't exactly match up. It's also a bit difficult on putting together as there are a few flaps that crisscross. He finally figured it out and is using it. He said that at least it fits in his shoes and does support his ankles.
Comfortable, good support for your ankle.
October 15, 2015
The support felt a bit too bulky and tight the very first time I tried it on. Starting the second time, however, it stretched a bit and became very comfortable. I ordered two and wear them while running and it is helping me to run longer significantly reducing recovery pain. Now I wear them every time I exercise.Only negative experience I had was that one of the straps began to fall off after third time due to bad a sewing. I took it to the shoe repair shop and reinforced all the straps.I would buy it again.
Be aware of what type of brace or support you need...this one is perfect for what it is advertised to be
May 29, 2015
This review is for the Mueller Adjustable Ankle Support, Black, One Size fits mostI have bad ankles; once you sprain an ankle, the ligaments never are the same. I also have flat feet. When I am walking a lot, or doing any type of physical activity, I need some sort of ankle support. If I were recovering from a recent injury, I think I would need more support than is offered by this item. However, this support/brace is stronger than the little slip-on neoprene sleeves, and the ability to cross/wrap it gives a person the ability to determine the exact tightness/support that is needed. I would recommend it for light activity or sports, or if an injury is almost fully recovered and a stronger brace is not needed. It is important to know how much support you require, before buying a brace. Many mediocre reviews are from people who really need a different item. I believe this one is what it is advertised to be, and I would buy again.I am a 5 ft 3 inch woman, with size 7 feet. These wraps were not too large for me, as many are. The velcro allows them to be adjusted to almost any foot size....although I cannot speak for those with very large feet...I'm not sure how far they stretch. But for people who are much taller than average, it probably is best to purchase an item made especially for large feet.I would recommend this as a "go-to" brace for most average needs.

Kind of flimsy, good compression.
September 27, 2016
Not a bad support brace. The stints aren't terribly supportive or rigid, but the compression the bands add help. I tried using this for sports a few months after sustaining a bad ankle injury and it certainly helped, but I wasn't super confident with it, especially since that sport was soccer. It fit inside my shoes and cleats OK with decent mobility. If using this for sport, I wouldn't suggest it for sports requiring major foot use like soccer or quick turning/shifting stop and go things. Jogging would be fine, lifting, or even just every day walking support.
Okay,but......
December 23, 2015
I broke my ankle and this orthotic is not tight enough around the ankle to provide the support I need. It seems better suited for plantar fasciitis than ankle support. I went back to my ace wrap until I find something better.
Was hoping for better lateral stability
July 14, 2015
I can tighten the straps as much as I want, but I expected more lateral support than this ankle stabilizer provides. Even with the stabilizing support on the sides, my ankle still gives a bit too much at times due to the flexibility of the neoprene. On the positive side, I've been using this for a solid month of working out approximately every other day and there are no odors to complain about. I think this stabilizer would work well if I just needed some minor support while recovering from an injury, but for CAI where my ankle gives out without notice, I think I need something that is a bit more laterally stable.
I would say they fit most feet but not all, still a good product needs some improvement on design
May 15, 2015
These are nice and work well for Tarsal tunnel but I wouldn't say one size fits all, the front part is a little tight if you have men size feet of size 11 or larger or if you have wide feet. The other thing is that part of the scratchy Velcro touches the foot, although you can correct this with a soft piece of cloth placed underneath it against your foot, this is a design problem Mueller should correct.
The first day was great
October 25, 2014
but it turns out the thin plastic insert is just too flexible for my needs. I've broken my ankle twice and now I have a pretty noticable supination when I walk. I was hoping this would help give some stability and make me a little more sure footed when working on variable terrain. On the first day, that is exactly what it did. On the second day, however, it was like I wasn't even wearing it. It might because I was working on a prescribed burn and the heat compromised the rigidity of the plastic insert or maybe the 100% slopes and heavy slash on the ground were just beyond it's design. In any case, just didn't work on the second day. It's not uncomfortable to wear, so that's good, but if you don't line the velcro up just right, when you slip your foot into your shoe or boot, it folds back on itself and can create a hotspot. I wish the directions would be a little more clear in how to strap it up to provide the very most support so you don't have that trial and error period, but really, how hard is it to wrap some elastic around your ankle?
Good support but side bar is irritating
May 2, 2013
This brace seems to work but there is a side bar that runs up the side and it irritates your bone.I have not tried to where shoes with this brace. I wear it to bed and in the middle of the night I fight like hell to get it off quick.I wouldn't suggest falling asleep with it.

June 20, 2016
I tried using this brace for playing sports (volleyball/basketball) and didn't like how it felt. Maybe it's user error on my part, but one major dislike I had was the fact that it was very bulky and I couldn't fit my foot properly into my shoe. I even wore thinner socks, but the brace just felt awkward, so it was difficult to move quickly. I did request to return this due to my issues, so 5 stars for customer service, but 2 stars for the actual product.

February 27, 2016
This support seems like a perfect aid for almost healed foot problems or "weak or sore ankles" as in the description. It does not have any solid sewn in braces. For me it is just a comfort wrap for your ankle. Not for serious or major ankle problems.
DON'T FIT ACCORDING TO THE SIZE CHART
January 31, 2016
THEY SELL THESE BY SHOE SIZE. I HATE TO TELL YOU BUT YOU FOOT SIZE AND ANKLE SIZE HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH EACH OTHER. I PURCHASED THESE ACCORDING TO MY SHOE SIZE AS STATED ON THE INTERNET. BUT THEY WERE SO SMALL I COULD NOT GET THEM ON AT ALL. THEY ALSO CHARGE A 15% RESTOCK FEE.IF YOU ORDER ACCORDING TO THEIR SIZE CHART, THEN IT IS NOT YOUR FAULT THEY DON'T FIT. THEY TOLD ME THEY WOULD REMOVE THE RESTOCK FEE. BUT I STILL HAVE NOT SEEN MY REFUND.
Ok for light support
October 10, 2015
I was hoping for a little more support post-sprain. I feel like if I came down on the injured ankle again, this brace wouldn't prevent much ankle rolling. I'm going to need something with a little more support. If you're looking for fairly light support, this might be it. But there are others that offer far more injury protection. Though they do come at a mobility cost. Although re-injury is not a good risk, so I'll opt with greater protection with reduced mobility.
Depends on purpose...
June 30, 2011
I was hoping for a an ankle support light enough for me to run in. Not this one. It is fairly bulky and provides very little ventilation. I wouldn't recommend it to be used during an active activity. It provides adequate support though so is good for someone who might be recovering from an injury.

Too small for me
December 29, 2016
My main reason for giving this only 2 starts is because this states it's a "one size" product, but definitely not a one size fits all product. I am about a Mens US Size 9. This product is too small. It clearly does not fit well and is meant for smaller feet. I would highly recommend getting the ASO ankle stabilizer. You will get WAY more support and worth the money. This may be half the cost of the ASO brace, but don't try to cheap out. It's worth protecting your ankles. The one con with the ASO brace is that it's definitely bulkier, but that's what you get with more support.I would ONLY recommend getting this if you have smaller feet, want to spend less money, need less bulk.
Not made the same as they used to be.
June 24, 2016
I feel like these are made smaller then they used to be. I bought this exact one in 2010 and I feel the the plastic is too far down the foot. It cuts into my foot when I'm walking. I'm disappointed.
Does not fit.
September 10, 2015
Does not fit!!! The metal side reinforcements do not bend at the correct angle. Even though I have a small foot, I don't know how this is supposed to fit on anyone. Seems strong and of good quality but simply cannot put it on. Also, it is bulky, even if I can imagine it fitting. Will not fit in a regular tennis shoe or sneaker, much less a work shoe.
so so
July 24, 2015
I got this a few years ago and I wasn't too sure if this would help me. After I got it I worked out in it, while the pressure and pain didn't appear my foot was tingly and a bit numb. I don't know if I had it on too tight but i haven't worn it since. I am giving it a two since I am not sure if it was operator error or something that happens with this product.
Not suitable for wearing while walking
April 27, 2014
This ankle brace is made to be worn with the foot and leg at about a 140 degree angle as it has hard stabilizing (metal) supports in the sides which makes it stay at a very wide angle more or less. So it would be good if you are on crutches or otherwise NOT WALKING on it. You CAN force it into a 90 degree angle and wear it in a shoe, but it's clearly not meant for that and causes the brace to bunch up and be super awkward and uncomfortable. Seeing as I bought it to be worn while walking, I will have to find another one. . I am a women's size 8 shoe and it fit well otherwise.

April 6, 2015
What support? Unless you have some very minor sprain, this does not support my ankle at all. For what it gives you, might as well not wear anything at all.
many folks like myself have had several ankle issues on different parts ...
September 8, 2014
Here's the deal: it is OK, maybe 2 1/2 stars. Why? Firstly, many folks like myself have had several ankle issues on different parts of the foot & ankle area over the years; not just the exact same place: like achilles, ankle, side of foot next to ankle, etc. I have found it helps to have support that goes just a bit further up the leg above the ankle to help with the ankle/foot support. This is really short--just clears the ankle by a small amount, and as it is a very soft support, that offers VERY minimal bracing. It was inexpensive, but really just too lightweight and small in area covered to give any real support.

January 23, 2016
This thing is so small that my women's size 10 foot is crammed into it. The elastic heel is so tight that your heel hurts from wearing it. The outside hard part of the brace rubs against my ankle bone and it doesn't wrap nearly as well around my foot.
and so stiff that it would not bend to be comfortable even at a resting position
June 22, 2015
This 'one size' business might work for those who fall into the 'avg' sizing category, but did not work for me (size 10 women shoe). It was too small to wrap satisfactorily around, and so stiff that it would not bend to be comfortable even at a resting position. And the heal opening isn't nearly big enough. Picture looks like a great design, but the actual product didn't match. I sent it back.
Does not meet manufacturer's claims
June 5, 2015
This one-size brace might fit a petite woman, or perhaps a pre-adolescent boy, but it will not fit the size ranges the manufacturer advertises. The binding on the front edge of the sole and under the heel are too thick and inelastic, so it cuts into your foot. The metal bars put painful pressure on a sprain, and provide no lateral support in any case... you can still freely invert and evert your ankle with it on. An ordinary elastic bandage provides better support, comfort, and compression than this device.
One size doesn't really fit all
March 28, 2014
This ankle support is just what I needed - but despite the claim that one-size-fits-all, it's really not true. I'm a size 10, which isn't small, but is within the size range they claim to fit. I could make this device fit over my ankle, but only by making it so tight as to cut off circulation. The velcro on the forward section of the foot didn't reach the cloth on the other side when at a reasonable tension. In short, a good product if your feet are smaller than mine, but totally unsatisfactory if your feet are my size - and I don't think men's size 10 is huge.
not for bigger feet.

and #2 it clearly stated that would fit comfortably into most shoes
March 3, 2017
I bought this ankle support for 2 reasons. #1 it was inexpensive, and #2 it clearly stated that would fit comfortably into most shoes. Well that's WRONG. Unless Most shoes, mean specifically tennis shoes that are a 1/2 size bigger, it won't fit. I am a profession women and cannot wear tennis shoes on the job. This thing is bulky and won't fit into anything. And one size fits all it definetly wrong too. I have a fairly average size foot, a size 8 womens. It's too big for me, and trying to adjust it makes the velcro go under which is uncomfortable. I'd send it back, but it's not worth the hassle.
Useless. Save your money!
February 10, 2017
This thing is useless. The entire brace is made of stretchy material making it impossible to actually provide support. The only thing this brace actually does is make your shoe fit tighter which I guess some people think is actual support, but it's not. It provides no protection or support.
Inepensive, but still a waste of money
October 7, 2016
Not happy with these braces. Don't buy. The makers probably didn't actually try their own product. The only way they work to support ankle is to tighten them really tightly. But then you lose circulation and there are very painful pressure points on the bottom of foot arch. I want my money back.
