Five Star Reviews: | 46% Making Pig Less Piggy June 18, 2017 Bought for my pot belly pig. There was no learning curve. He understood what to do right away. It works perfectly with pig pellets which are pretty small (cylindrical and maybe 1/4 inch long). I wish the product description showed the rest of the packaging. Because the food or treats you use do have to be pretty small and there is an image how small on the package. Also, even though my pig is small, I am glad I got the 4 inch version. Small enough to fit in your palm. Only a little bigger than a tennis ball. I can add more food even with the dividers in place. You can change the difficulty of the treat ball by adding or subtracting dividers (white, blue, and yellow in picture). It does extend meal time and makes him have to work to get his food. I haven't had any problems with it coming unscrewed. I like that it is easy to clean. Best Toy I've Ever Bought My Husky April 21, 2017 I have a 5 year old husky that gets terribly bored when she's stuck inside. We started her out with just the one insert and she quickly figured that out and we had to move on the most advanced version of the puzzle. My Siberian husky is about 45lbs (kinda small even for a female) and it just barely fits in her mouth when she picks it up. Which I think is good because it's too big to chew on the hard plastic. We cut up tiny pieces of slim jims as the treats and watch her go. I recommend picking somewhere where the ball can't roll under furniture. It's annoying having to get it out from under things constantly. I usually use old blankets like bumper guards at a bowling alley to keep it in the middle of the room for her. Fantastic toy for a puppy March 11, 2016 Fantastic toy for a puppy. Seriously if they are food motivated this will keep them busy for hours once they learn how to play with it. Seems very sturdy made and a Brittany is man handling it for hours a day. It is noisy on tile floor, but you'll always know where the puppy is. Better on carpet. It dispenses nicely. It's weighted so the food doesn't just pour out, they have to work for it. I love this product! entertainment of snacks January 22, 2016 my pups are very different; one is a chewer, and one likes these puzzle thingies. I got this because of an article I was reading on barkpost.com because of the great price (on amazon, not the website) and not fully expecting my puzzle solver to be intrigued by it. BUT I gotta say, he loves it. he cant get enough of it. and typically his attention sways after he solves the newest toy we get him, but with this one I think he just has a blast with it. Its great to see him engaged. We took his normal biscuits though and had to cut them down to size. Not all treats flow out easily so it may require some playing of your own to get the right snack. We love this! January 4, 2016 I have a miniature dachshund who is almost a year old. He got this you for Christmas and he loves it. It rolls on both the carpets and tile. But he usually plays in the kitchen because it rolls farther and faster. We put Purina puppy chow inside and it's the perfect size to fall out every so often to keep him entertained! I would definitely recommend! My dogs love this! It's perfectly challenging for hours of fun June 17, 2015 My dogs love this! It's perfectly challenging for hours of fun. They get so excited playing with it and I'm happy that it worked out. The 3-inch ball is great for toy/small breeds. The kibble and treats for this sized dog are the perfect size for this toy. The toy also comes with a guide and tells you which size treat/kibble to use. The photo attached shows a size comparison between the Roku remote and the toy. | 60% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
Four Star Reviews: | 19% Quite challenging. September 23, 2017 The inside of the hole has a little lip, so even without any of the inserts it takes quite a lot of working to get kibble out. The last 1 or 2 kibble sometimes don't come out. My cat will work at it for quite a long time before he gives up, and he is an experienced puzzle-feeder user. I don't like this quite as much as my football-shaped one, because that one stays in one area and this one goes all over the place. It can get rolled under furniture, where it might not come out or if it's under the couch, the cat might be eating dust bunnies along with the kibble, which I don't like the idea of. Plus you have to find it.I'm not sure I'll ever use the inserts, but it would be great for someone whose animal is 1. food motivated, and 2. has separation anxiety or some other need to be busy for a long time (such as a digger or chewer). Overall met our needs, but didn't fit the kibble we had September 20, 2017 Okay, so we got this treat ball for our dog because we wanted something to keep him from inhaling his food, and something that would give him something to do while we were at work. For the most part, it's met our needs and we're happy with it.Pros:- it's sturdy (he's knocked it into walls, picked it up and carried it around in his mouth, I've stepped on it, and no cracks)- it's easy to use...definitely easy to change out the difficulty level- it slows down his eating- we give him his breakfast in it and he likes to play with it while we're at workCons:- it's a little small for putting his whole meal in it. He only eats about a half cup in the morning and at night, and that fits in the ball. However, we can only add one of the disks to make it more challenging (to be fair, if we got a bigger one it might hold more)- although the product description says that it fits most kibble, that's not really what we found. It didn't fit either the kibble the shelter gave us or the one we bought. We ended up having to buy a new kibble (which we were going to do anyway, so it's fine), and even then it took a lot of looking in the store to find one that would fit. Good toy April 10, 2017 My dog likes this toy. Its got two inner disks that are removable making it easy to adjust the difficulty of this toy. Its super easy to clean and so far seems sturdy. I reccomend this to my training clients and so far all the dogs love this toy. We start easy with no disks and work up to including the disks one at a time. Works for my lab!! March 29, 2017 This was not a great toy at first. My sheltie and my Pomeranian were not interested. And then I rescued my Labrador retriever and introduced him to the ball. His way of playing with it is to take it apart and eat the treats. Since he is problem-solving in a different way, I consider this A success! This has kept my not easily impressed dog occupied for hours. June 24, 2016 My dog loves this thing! He will push it around the house for hours. I love that you can add parts to make it a little more difficult because my dachshund caught on pretty fast. Only reason I rate this a four and not a five is because it's all plastic and makes so much noise rolling across my hardwood floors. Also, everywhere my dog takes it he runs it into something. So when he's pushing it around in the living room it's beating up my furniture. Thinking if this was made of a different material it might be quieter and not so harsh on my furniture and floors. I'm glad that this one came with removable pieces to make ... January 28, 2016 I'm glad that this one came with removable pieces to make it easier or harder. My shepherd mix loves this and it's the perfect size for her. | 19% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
Three Star Reviews: | 14% I loved the previous model with the flat insert August 26, 2017 I loved the previous model with the flat insert. This one looks more interesting (for people) but doesn't hold kibble without being a pain to put back together. I use these balls to feed my fast eating dog and to keep the cat amused and also away from the dog's food. The dog approves May 11, 2017 This is a fun toy for my dog. He loves to throw it around and chase it. However, no matter how tight I screw the top to the bottom, he always manages to get the two pieces apart. Which leads to him taking the center piece out as well. No real regrets on the purchase. Just know that you need to watch your dog so the toy does not end up dismantled. The dogs will play with it if it's the only toy available, but they prefer other interactive toys over this one April 15, 2017 More a 3.5 star -- with all the layers inside, I don't know how small treats could find it's way out. I struggled to get the treats lined up right to make them come out. The saving grace was the fact some of the layers can be removed, so it wasn't a complete waste of money. The dogs will play with it if it's the only toy available, but they prefer other interactive toys over this one. Small May 4, 2016 This is small. It doesn't hold a lot of treats/kibble and you definitely have to have small treats/kibble. It rolls well and dispenses well but it just doesn't hold a lot. It will be fine for treats but I won't be able to use it for feeding. I would have to refill it too many times to use it that way. Not great March 22, 2016 Great concept, poor execution. The ball is made of rigid plastic. It would be great for a small or toy-sized dog who couldn't get it in their mouth or pick it up, or for a medium dog that doesn't chew, but for my large labrador, I'm afraid he will shatter the plastic if he tries to chomp on it. Also, I couldnt' get more than a half-dozen treats or pieces of kibble in the compartment at a time. This means the experience lasts for less than 60 seconds. We'll stick with the ball made by ToysRUs - it's made of a softer, more pliable plastic and still has a puzzle-style inside, and is cheap enough to replace if it gets chewed to bits. He looks almost like a cat knocking it around the house February 24, 2016 My dog is a very energetic dog and this has kept him busy for a while now. He looks almost like a cat knocking it around the house. The only issue that I have is he was able to knock it open where it twists shut after playing with it for 15- 20min. I wish it were more tough in that aspect. | 11% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
Two Star Reviews: | 9% Easily breakable August 31, 2017 The good news is my puppy likes the toy. The bad news is she managed to break it apart (so that it's come unscrewed and all the kibble has come out) in like 5 minutes flat. I screwed back together as tight as I could--she totally busted it within six hours.SO maybe not a good choice for a more energetic pup (mine is a lab/schnauzer mix) Breaks apart no matter how tightly you close it July 19, 2017 Pops apart constantly. Got it for our pig to make meals last longer. Food pellets are a great size for this busy ball but after she pushes it around for a few minutes it opens up and she just eats everything. She cannot fit it into her mouth so it's not being dropped like if a dog were playing with it, I don't imagine it would last any longer for dogs either. Waste of money. The add on plastic inserts are cute but not functional ... June 20, 2017 The add on plastic inserts are cute but not functional, unless your dog is eating cat sized kibble the pieces literally do not fit. I was disappointed in this ball May 14, 2017 I was disappointed in this ball. Our dog doesn't play with toys and we thought this would be something she would like. We put Zuke treats in it and left out the inserts to make it easy for her. She sniffed at it a few times and gave up. The treats wouldn't come out unless we rolled it a certain way. It kept rolling one way like it was too heavy on the bottom. Too hard to get the treats out so she gave up. Looking for a different one. Not worth it December 21, 2016 Lasted 4 minutes and my Dachshund had it cracked open and destroyed. Not very sturdy and took forever for treats to come out and yes they were within the size limit. Gave my dog a taste for destruction June 18, 2016 My dog had a similar ball with just the center divider for nearly a year, and it was his favorite toy. I got this treat ball figuring the extra baffles would give him a little bit more of a challenge, since he had gotten so good at his first ball. Unfortunately, the baffles were more of a challenge for me in trying to load up the ball without spilling kibble everywhere.I also found that the kibbles would get stuck in the angles formed by the attachment of the baffles. I think this proved to be the ball's undoing, as my dog chewed it apart and destroyed it one day while I was at work. It was the first thing he has ever chewed up in the two years I've had him! Sadly, it was not the only thing he has ever chewed up, because the next day I gave him kibble in the similarly-constructed treat ball we've had for a year, that he has played with nearly every day with never an issue--and I came home to find he had chewed that up too!I do still love this style of treat ball, as it's so much faster to load than the kind where you have to stuff in treats one at a time, so it gets a couple stars. We will never get to use this style of treat ball again, however, as this particular model seems to have taught my dog that the best technique is total destruction. | 5% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
One Star Reviews: | 12% Puppy got his bottom jaw stuck inside June 1, 2017 My Pom puppy got his bottom jaw stuck inside and it took him about 5minutes to dislodge. In the meantime I am frantically calling the Vet and trying to help him. He was in so much pain. This is not for small size puppies or tea cup dogs. He was really excited to play and get the treats out but now is too scared to even come near it. To all furparents with small puppies, make sure that the hole is smaller than the width of the bottom jaw. Bored By It Quickly May 23, 2017 My dog tried it, got a few treats from it but, smart as he is, didn't have the patience for it. Amuch better choice for a dog that likes to chew is the Zogoflex by West Paw Design. Hard Plastic May 7, 2017 Found the hard plastic construction caused the ball to roll way too much. No instructions. Won't reorder this item again. Not for big dogs! February 18, 2017 Was not designed for my dog. Shattered on day one. Might be great for small dogs, definitely not for my large dog. Junk ! I was afraid my lab would break this! June 18, 2016 Cheap terrible plastic that would crack if he truly tried !I like the design but my dog is way too powerful to have this in his mouth ! ( Labrador ) I gave it to the small puppy next door went back to the Kong wobbler treat dispenser he loves ! I tried using normal dog food like the photo shows (or what I interpreted it as ... February 25, 2016 In order to use this the treats have to be extremely small. I tried using normal dog food like the photo shows (or what I interpreted it as being) and the food got jammed and I had to keep helping my dog. The other frustration is that the food can move backwards in the ball which may be nice if you're trying to really keep your dog occupied, but I felt like she was never getting rewarded for her efforts. Finally, if your dog is a strong chewer, this ball is small enough to fit in their mouth and pretty easy to destroy. | 5% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet | 0% There are no reviews yet |
