Happy with this, though just had to replace the $20 battery
May 11, 2017
Overall very satisfied with this monitor and have had no problems. One thing I wanted to mention is that after having this for around 13 months, the rechargeable battery stopped holding charge, and a replacement battery from the manufacturer costs $20. Not a massive amount, but not insignificant either. And the battery is not covered under either the standard 1-year or either of the extended warranties, so it's going to be out of pocket. This is not a criticism any more than having to change the tires on your car every few years is not a criticism of your car either, just wanted to post this so buyers are aware.

July 16, 2016
We asked for this monitor on our baby registry and we love it! It has great night vision even in a completely dark room and has a zoom feature which proved very useful when he was first born. It saved me a lot of trips into the room because I could see his chest rising and falling right through the monitor. It even has a microphone where you can talk through the camera to the baby. We don't do cry it out, so I usually just saying something like "Mommy's coming!" but I could see you soothing them through the camera if you weren't going to go in the room. When unplugged it usually lasts us about 5-6 hours. My only qualm is that is makes a terribly annoying beeping sound when the battery is low. I'm sure there is a way to shut that off, but I haven't figured it out yet. Other than that we love it!
Great Device ESPECIALLY For My Wife
June 24, 2016
I purchased this baby monitor for my wife because she MUST see the baby at all times, lol. I think it's a great product after owning it for over 5 months. You can speak to the baby through the camera and you can play pre-programmed music through it. The battery lasts a good while and the color is pretty good. You can actually see the child in the dark, which is wonderful when you need some time to relax after the baby went to sleep. The range is great for a standard sized home (3-4 bedroom) and there is no "losing connection" which is exactly what I expect from such a device. The price is great for such a good device.
Great monitor with nice features!
December 29, 2015
Have been using this monitor for about 9 months now and have really no complaints. It is a standard video monitor with some nice features, most of which I haven't needed to use. We have a smaller house so we haven't really needed to test the range of the monitor yet, but for what we have needed it for, every night use for 9 months, it has been great. There have been some random times when the signal will go out, but for us has only lasted a second or two.We have the camera on 24/7 as it is plugged into the wall and for most of the night the monitor is plugged in as well. The battery in the monitor is rechargeable and both the camera/monitor have backup batteries, which is nice, gives that extra piece of mind. The charge on the monitor is about 3-4 hours, in my experience. The monitor does have a talk-back feature which allows you to talk to baby, it also plays music through the camera as well.Overall I have been very happy with this monitor!
Best monitor on the market

I have owned 2 top of the line Samsung's that both broke after a couple of years. This product is far superior to the Samsung. After listening to the Samsung static for 3 years I can believe how clear this is.Great picture and sound. I did hours of research over days and am very happy with this purchase. The light ring is a great feature.I highly recommend this product.
Well made, functions perfectly, super happy with purchase and highly recommend

This is a great product. In the PEEP mode we use, the screen is dark and the unit is quiet until our son makes noise, at which time the handset wakes up and transmits image and sound. There is a sensitivity control that allows us to decide how much noise will trigger the display, which is good for our noisy sleeper. I also like the temperature readout because we have steam heat that is incredibly unstable. Although the Levana doesn't give an accurate temperature (ours is probably 3-5 degrees over actual), it is consistent, so I have learned what is a comfortable/healthy reading and I can make sure our boy doesn't freeze or overheat.Reception has been perfect, but this is used in an apartment, so we are no more than 30 feet from the nursery. We can't yet attest to range in a big house, although will get to try that out this summer. The only con is the green power light on the camera unit is quite bright and we wanted our son to sleep in the dark. It is a very easy fix though-- a little blu-tack covers the light and solves the problem completely. I bet a piece of chewing gum would work in a pinch!Great reception, long battery life, good picture quality, feels substantially made and has all the features we need. We are extremely happy with this purchase!

Great monitor for a great price
June 16, 2017
After weeks of reading reviews and also after testing two other brands of monitors, I decided to try the Levana Jena Digital Baby Video Monitor. I was desperate after the two other monitors I tried certainly failed. I am so thankful I decided to try again. This is the best monitor by far that I have ever had; mainly b/c of the extended battery life. My monitor is mainly used at night, but has lasted for 5 consecutive nights without having to be charged. I have had this monitor for almost two weeks and have only had to charge once. Since I am only using a few hours each night, I am sure that is one of the reasons why it has lasted so long, but still very impressive. I also like the design of the camera, as well as the hand held unit and I LOVE the charging dock. The charging dock option was one of the main reason why I chose this particular monitor over the other traditional plug in chargers. The picture quality is decent and I like all the other bells and whistles, such as: the temperature reading, night light, and lullabies. Surprisingly, my baby loves the lullabies and it actually helps baby fall back asleep. As my baby gets older, I am glad to have the intercom option. Overall, I am very happy to find a monitor that actually works and for a decent price. I definitely recommend!
Great monitor
March 17, 2017
Very clear picture, both in infrared and day time mode. Compact receiver and camera, very simple to use. Nice kickstand that triples as a belt hook and wall mount. Really happy with this purchase, I was going to get one with a big screen and am happy I didn't because of the picture quality on this one.I wish you could turn off the mode that only wakes the screen when it senses sound. It stays on for like 10 seconds then turns off. You can manually turn the screen back on but it will again go off after 10 seconds. The sound also turns off when the screen does. I have sort of fixed it by turning the sound sensitivity all the way up and we have a sound machine on so the screen will stay on most of the time. It in no way saves battery by keeping the screen off. The battery on the receiver lasts FOREVER and also has a charging port you just sit it in when you need to.The receiver also beeps very loudly when: it loses signal (camera dies or is turned off), sound is heard and the screen comes back on, and randomly when I manually turn the screen back on. So you don't want to carry it into the baby's room while they are sleeping, for whatever reason. The camera can easily sit inside the crib or anywhere you want to place it. You can manually adjust its angle very easily. However, it eats up batteries. We are going to try rechargeable ones to see if that helps. You can plug it into the wall instead, but the cord gets in the way for us.

I absolutely love this monitor- I can't say enough good things about it! We originally purchased a Nest Cam (formerly DropCam) and a Logi Cam because we liked the idea we could view the baby from anywhere- including when we were out for a date night, etc. The reality is (besides the fact that date nights just don't happen) is that the app has to be open constantly to see your kid. There's no alert feature, and saving video is impractical (and really, unnecessary!)Pros:- Fantastic night vision and even better day vision. Crisp and clear. Great colors during the day.- Camera and audio flick on when there is a change in the room. Therefore I can keep this at my bedside at night, the light doesn't keep me awake constantly, but rather flips on when she wakes up. If I wanted to leave it on to hear the white noise all night (no thanks) I could leave it on its charger for a constant view. A good in-between for worried first time parents!- Music and push-to-talk feature- Great battery life- Temp gauge- was kind of pffft about this until I had it. We have an inconsistent A/C unit and her room runs between 66 and 73 over the course of the night. Great to know!- Ability to add more cameras down the line.Cons:- No ability to rotate the camera. We would have liked to have mounted it to the wall, but that would have left a rotated picture on the monitor.- Range - we can really only go out to the end of our driveway before we lose reception.- Wish the camera portion folded completely flat when storing and traveling.
Excellent Monitor!

This unit is terrific. Totally stoked that I opted for the Levana Jena over the much more expensive monitors I was pondering. We just had our first child and I was totally clueless when it came to baby monitors. I'm a bit of a tech geek, so I researched a ton about the different brands, models and features. I really didn't think there was a consensus top pick or two, and the pricing on the Motorola, Samsung, Nest, etc. was into the hundreds. Some of those units got great reviews, some poor. This Jena had terrific reviews and was a fraction of the cost at 75 bucks. I was prepared to spend $200-300 on a monitor too, as I wasn't of the mind to skimp on something I feel is very important. The price on this made me skeptical tho. How could a $75 unit be better, or as good, as a $200 unit from a company I know makes great phones and TV's. I was hesitant, and figured with Amazon I could return it if I decided it was too cheap a monitor. Well, let me tell you that I'm extremely happy I bought this Levana. It's a terrific unit. It does virtually everything the others do. It zooms, has night vision, provides a nice quality stream, etc. Don't spend the money on the more expensive units. Buy this first. I'm glad I did.
Passes Initial Testing with Flying Colors: Great for Price
November 18, 2015
I will update this if I need to, but so far upon initial testing it works very well for what it is supposed to do and for the price. I had a Motorolla video/intercom/temp for my first child. It worked well in the beginning then lost all its battery. It never had an 8 hr life and there was no nightlight. They no longer make that model, and they have bad reviews, so rather than trying to get a new battery or model, I bought the Jena for our 2nd child (due next week). I have tested all the features and here is what I've found so far:1) Battery is good for now2) The intercom works well3) the directions say put the monitor 3ft away, but it works at MUCH greater distances4) The temperature alarm is nice that you can set the boundaries5) you can easily turn the video off into peep mode6) The zoom is a nice touch that the Motorolla didn't have. Zooming isn't too obvious and the directions are unhelpful. I talked to a rep who had no idea what I was talking about (so I'm not as happy with the customer support). To zoom, hold the zoom button. To go up and down you use the volume control (more obvious), to go left or right when you are zoomed in, you need to press the camera and music button (less obvious)7) The camera only tilts up and down and not side to side. I knew this before purchasing it (the Motorolla was better in this regard)8) In the hand set the songs sound very harsh and mechanical. However, testing in the room by the monitor, the music isn't as bad. Still not sure I'd use it over other lullaby of other toys.9) I leave in a 2story house plus basement. The range is enough that I can be in the laundry room in the basement and still have reception between monitor and handset10) Unlike the motorolla, if something does go wrong with the battery... we install it as the user and can buy a new battery, we don't need a new handset.11) The nightlight is a very small light that gives off no light at all. It is more a focus point. I don't know if I'll use it.12) If a sound is made, the picture automatically kicks on. I don't mind this as I want to see my child. I knew this before buying. For those of you who want just sound and to save battery, this isn't as nice a feature, but the battery should last 8 hrs so it isn't as big a deal.UNTESTED: I don't have 4 cameras and can't check those out. This is very good for the price. If you want a better picture you'll be paying more and if you want the pan, you would. but what you get what you pay for seems really good for now. Hopefully this doesn't die on me. If anything glares out at me, I will come back and edit this
great camera monitor!
May 31, 2015
The video quality and sound are great. Weather in daylight or night vision, you get a clear picture. You can zoom in from the receiver, play music, or talk to them. The video goes on power safe mode when there is no sound or sudden movements. This prevents u from hearing the white noise all night. The reciever beeps when ur baby starts to move and make noise. It has worked as far as from the second story to my backyard. It's extremely easy to set up. Just plug them in. They come with rechargeable batteries and a docking station. The reciever has a clip for ur pants which converts to a stand.I recommend this item.

July 8, 2017
Came quickly and exactly as described! It fits great on top of our changing table (Dream on Me - Emily). We haven't used with it baby yet, he still won't be here for 5.5 weeks. It seems to be good quality and will last a while. The bottom (where baby lays) doesn't feel that thick and padded, but I am a first time mother and honestly don't know how other changing pads are in comparison or if the extra padding is necessary. The changing table came with a 1 inch pad, so I have that under it for a little more cushion, just in case for now.Update: Been using it for five weeks now. Works great. Super easy to clean as we have a boy that likes to pee everywhere during diaper changes. Would purchase again. Additional padding not needed, baby does fine.
Highly recommend!
November 28, 2016
I really hesitated between this changing pad and a few pricier ones on the market. As a new mom, I'm guilty of always wanting to buy the BEST everything for my baby--even if that sometimes means spending over 100 dollars on a changing pad my daughter will lay on for less than 5 minutes at a time to get her butt wiped (yes, I'm thinking of the Keekaroo Peanut Diaper Changer). But most times I listen to that voice in my head laughing hysterically at me for falling prey to marketing. I then searched around a little more and saw that this changing pad was incredibly affordable and had good reviews, so I decided to go for it. And, honestly, I couldn't be happier. It's safe, comfortable, fits perfectly on top of our $60 Ikea changing table, and there are PLENTY of adorable, affordable diaper covers that fit out there (I recommend getting at least two covers, so when one's in the wash, the other's on the pad.) Zero complaints. Get it.
Great buy
November 17, 2016
I couldn't believe the cost of some changing pads, of course I want my baby to be comfortable but it doesn't need to be as high of quality or price as the crib mattress! We purchased this one after a lot of recommendations & research and are very happy. Fits our changing table and covers perfectly. Love that it comes with straps because we are using a dresser as a changing table. Highly recommend.
I can tell this product has great quality, and seems very comfortable
August 3, 2016
I have not used this yet, as my baby is due soon :)However I did open it up to set up the nursery. I can tell this product has great quality, and seems very comfortable. I like the idea of having a strap to hold the baby in place, my first child's changing pad did not have that! I installed a pad cover, and it really looks great!I got a little OCDish, and tested the waterproofness of this changing pad. I simply dropped some water in the middle and watched it just hang out above the pad. It did not go through at all, which is great considering what fluids it is going to see very shortly :)Overall a great buy, at under $20 it was also cheaper than what I have seen at the typical baby stores.
Great pad! Horrible delivery!
August 21, 2015
The PRODUCT itself is nice, and is exactly as pictured. It is not hard, but firm to the touch which is good for newborns. When you put weight on it it conforms, I can feel the styrofoam like memory foam when I put weight on it. So it should be comfortable for my son.I am however very irritated with the packaging and shipping. I don't know if it was Amazon or FedEx, but I am NOT very happy about the giant tear and dents in the box! Amazon told me this would be here today and FedEx told me it was supposed to be here tomorrow. So I was already irritated about that. Then I get it today, finally, and it's a damaged package thrown on my door step?! I am very OCD and everytime I look at the changing pad my eyes are automatically drawn to the scratch that lifted and bubbled the plastic cover (not sure what it's called, it's like when you scrap a garbage bag on something and the plastic deforms and bubbles). The item wouldn't have been damaged if the box hadn't been damaged. I'm not happy that I wasted my gift card on something that showed up late (or on time, who knows?!) and damaged!I give the 5 stars to the actual changing pad, NOT anything else.Photos of the pad are attached, excuse my pregnant belly!
Recieved a different model this time
April 17, 2015
I've had this changing pad for 3 years now, It is amazing! My three year old still fits on it for diaper changes. Even if you don't have a changing table you can store it under your crib and pull it out as needed. No rips or tears 3 yrs later! Its so convenient to have a pad to change messy diapers on. It didn't have any smell when I received it and it still doesn't now. We put two covers over each other and just take the top on off if it gets dirty. All standard covers fit well. I will be ordering another one for new babys room as wellUPDATE:The new one that came in is not the same model # and has slightly shorter contoured sides. The sides don't come up to a point/look triangly instead it is a squared top. Not sure if this is an update or a whoops but summer brand who I called has not heard of this pad with this model #, yes that is kind of scary how the company hasn't heard of a product that I received from their brand/their tags are on it. This ones model # is 92870z and not the 92000z as listed

Good video quality and range but....
March 21, 2016
We have had this baby monitor for a couple months now and for the most part we like it. It has a good range, video quality and quite a few controls from the monitor that we like. You can turn music on to help calm the baby. You can turn the music volume up and down and the listening volume up and down. You can also put the screen on sleep mode to conserve battery until there is a noise then it wakes up. There is also a night light on the top of the camera that you can turn on and off with the monitor but we have found that the night light doesn't really do anything. It is very dim and just looks like it should be a logo on the camera not an actual light. The most frustrating part is trying to get the right placement so you can see the whole crib. We have our camera sitting on a shelf above the crib about 4 or 5 feet. The camera doesn't tilt down far enough to have it almost directly above the crib. The camera tilts down about 45 degrees where 90 would be laying flat looking at the floor (see pictures). To go along with that the camera is not a wide angle camera so you really need to be about 10 feet away to see the whole crib but at that distance we can't see what our baby is doing. For now we just lay her down on one end of the crib where the camera is pointing from up above (see pictures).
The battery works great and it lasts for long naps
February 25, 2016
I ordered this monitor Jan 11, 2016. I really needed the night vision feature for a child that needs his room dark for nap and bed. I was very excited to also have the 2 way speaker system. The camera/receiver has a very clear picture and I was very impressed with the night vision clarity. I mounted the camera on the wall out of reach. The battery works great and it lasts for long naps. I plug the receiver in overnight and when not in use. This has really solved my problem with a child that needs sleep but has difficulty settling down. He loves the soft music. The night light scares him but he is used to a dark room. We just turn it off and he reminds us if it accidentally is activated. My only reason that I gave 4 stars instead of 5 is that the night vision has gotten steadily worse starting after a few weeks. I used to be able to see my child clearly but now I can only see large movements like standing in bed. It has gotten to where I can't even tell if he is in the bed unless he is moving a lot. The picture in the light is still very crisp. I am disappointed about the night vision as it is our main reason for choosing this product. I will try contacting the customer service as the limited troubleshooting suggestions have not worked. This is a great monitor for a lighted area. I am holding out hope that the night vision aspect can be corrected.
Excellent Video Monitor for the Price!
February 2, 2016
Pros: Great video quality, audio sound, and battery life. Excellent Range (monitor still picks up signal in basement with camera on 2nd floor!) ,Cons: Temperature gauge runs high, Monitor feels fragileWe purchased this for our 2nd child as we prefer the video monitor over audio. After much research we decided the Levana Ayden provided virtually all features of the more expensive cameras at half the price. We mounted the camera over the crib and it works very well. The only negatives I have noticed so far is the temperature gauge seems inaccurate as it tends to run 5-6 degrees higher than the actual temperature. Additionally, the video monitor itself does not seem as though it would survive a fall without the screen cracking or breaking. (fortunately we haven't had to find this out yet)Overall this an excellent monitor for the price and would very much recommend it to others.
Good purchase
December 31, 2015
Full disclosure: I was offered a one year extended warranty in exchange for this review. After having a second child I wanted to upgrade to a better baby monitor with a second camera. Mostly I was looking for one with a clearer picture and better battery life than what I currently had (with an Infant Optics monitor). Initially I was frustrated because, while I could have the additional camera shipped directly to me, they wouldn't ship the main package with the monitor and camera to me because I lived in Ak. After shipping to a family member and having it forwarded to me (an exercise in frustration- don't we live in the 21st century?), I finally received my new monitor.I Have only been using the Levana for about a week but far I have been very pleased with its operation.Pros:Good battery life plus a battery logo that lets you know when you're getting low.A nice sized screen and decent picture.Very easy set up. First camera came already paired with the monitor and the second camera paired easily. The microphone is a nice addition and, while I haven't used it much, I can see how it may come in handy for my toddler.Flip up antenna. Gives you the ability to leave it folded down and out of the way most of the time-keeping it from getting broken off.Cons:The temperature sensor if off... By anywhere from 2-5 degrees. The menu icons are black and hard to see against the screen background. A brighter color would be much better.Peep mode won't work if you have a noise machine in the room. I'm disappointed that there is no provision for adjusting to the noise level of the room.Overall, It's better than what I had and a good product for the cost. If my opinion changes after extended use, I will be sure to come back and update this review.
I highly recommend this monitor!

I really like this monitor. We've been having temperature weirdness in the house where a few of the rooms are much warmer than others, so I really like the fact that I can see the temperature in my son's room at any time. The power saving is my favorite feature by far. Our old monitor wouldn't last more than a couple hours on a full charge, so we'd constantly have to move the power cord between the upstairs and downstairs or between rooms. This unit will last a few days on a single charge, as it is usually in low-power mode (our son doesn't really cry in his crib much anymore). The zoom feature is meh.. I've never really had a need for it, and the quality doesn't allow you any better of a view as this is digital zoom, not optical. We've used the built-in microphone a couple times too. The only thing I wish it had was a motorized camera that you could control from the receiver like our last monitor, but if you set the camera back far enough, it's not really necessary. The camera quality is MUCH better than our Motorola, which was surprising to me. The only flaw I found is that, in power-saving mode, sometimes the noise detection doesn't work properly and it'll take a few cries before it turns on the receiver. It's not a huge deal because it eventually does turn on, but it's worth noting.PROS:Built-in temperature sensor is very very usefulCamera quality is much better than our MotorolaNight vision works greatMicrophone can come in handyLasts a few days in power-saving modeLooks very stylishCONS:Noise sensor doesn't always work right away in power-saving modeRange isn't as good as our Motorola
Good Choice
January 21, 2015
I have had multiple different monitors and I like this one although as many other people mentioned the blue light is incredibly bright, which is annoying. The setup was easy although there needs to be a manual because it does a lot but isn't always clear. The picture is good as well as the range. I like that you can lock the keys, I had a Motorola and I was always worried I'd hit the wrong button at night and my daughter would accidentally hear me. MUCH better than the Summer Infant, which while cool looking was a major pain. Any other system electronic system that was close in proximity to the monitor would make the camera move, I thought it was possessed the first time it did it. Anyway, all monitors have some problems, you have to choose which ones you can live with.

Great monitor, only 2 complaints
September 30, 2016
We love this product, and it works very well for the price. There are only a few things I would change- first, you cannot (to my knowledge) adjust the volume of the music/speaker on the camera. Sometimes it startles our baby girl when we turn it on, if she is already sleepy. The second thing I dont like is that when I am playing the music, it is hard to hear my baby cry on the reciever. When you increase the volume, the music volume gets louder, but the baby's noises are very muffled, and can easily be missed if you aren't paying attention. Other than these complaints, this product has been everythng we wanted in a monitor. The image is very clear, even at night in a pitch black room, and the music choices are very soothing- it is wonderful to be able to turn it on remotely if our baby begins to stir. The signal is occasionally lost for soe reason, but comes back in a matter of seconds. Very happy with our purchase.
Great for the first two years...
January 19, 2016
We have had this monitor for just over two years now. At first I was very reluctant to buy a camera monitor. I thought that they were a huge waste of money, but I got a gift card for Amazon and my husband and I decided what the heck, let's give this a go. Best buy ever until just recently. First off, this monitor has a great picture although a little hard to see with night vision until you get used to it. It has a nice battery life and the charging dock fits nicely on my night stand. The camera was easy to position and we were able to have most of my daughter's crib covered, which was great as a first time parent. I didn't feel the need to go running into her room with every little noise. We have also traveled with it multiple times and it was super easy to set up while on the go. Also, just an FYI, my daughter would cry every time we used the intercom until she was about 18 months old. It scared her to death. Now to the just recently part. Last week we started having problems with the camera not staying linked with the monitor which is a huge pain since every time it loses signal it makes this super annoying beeping sound. It connects and loses signal all night long which normally results in me turning the monitor off, thus defeating the purpose of having it in the first place. It has held up pretty well considering the fact that once my daughter discovered it, it became a toy for her to play with.Overall, this has been a great monitor for the money we spent on it. Considering the amount of use this thing has gotten it was well worth it.**UPDATE**After trying just about everything to fix the connection problem, I realized that this problem didn't start until after I had moved the location of the receiver. So, I decided to move it back to it's original location and behold no connection problems since then. Even though I was able to fix my problem, I still feel that the receiver should work just about everywhere in my 1500 sqft house. I could understand if I lived in a larger home but I live in a little rancher so I left the 4 star rating.
For the price, you cannot get a better monitor
December 9, 2015
We love this monitor, the last one we had was black and white, pixelated images, and the monitoring screen was the size of a shoe box. With this product you have a clear(er) image than the cheapo brands, a super portable size, and clear sounds without back ground noise and being able to use the intercom to soothe your baby is invaluable. We cannot contest to the battery life because we have not had the reason to leave it off the charger more than a full day.The only reason not 5 stars is because of two reasons:A. The range of it is lacking. It is GREAT for anything inside the house, but it wont make it to the end of the driveway without losing the WiFi signal. In comparison our phones and tablets stay connected till we are half way down our street.B. This is a minor complaint, but any parent who has ever had to listen to repetitive children's TV shows or toys that sing lullabies know. IT GETS OLD FAST. I like that you can play your kid(s) lullabies, I don't like that it only plays the first 10 seconds or so and then repeats over, over, over, over, and over again.
Great monitor for the price!

We beat up on our first monitor (different brand but same price point), and the antenna had broken off numerous times before it went in the trash. Hunting for another monitor in the $100 range that would eliminate our annoyances with the last monitor wasn't fun, but I think we found most of what we wanted in this unit. What I love about this monitor:-Despite having an external antenna (which we tried to avoid), this one isn't going to break off. Better design.-VOX mode (powers monitor down when quiet)-Great picture quality when not on night vision-Two-way talk-Battery lasts much longer than our last monitor-Charging cradle instead of cordThings that could be improved:-No auto mute option. The one plus with our previous monitor was this option, where the sound would mute when the room noise was below a certain decibel level. This was a nice feature when I wanted to have the video on without the background noise.-Picture quality on night vision is quite grainy-I wish there was a way to disconnect the stand on the handheld portion of the monitor. This would make it easier to carry in my pocket when needed.-WiFi interference. I didn't know these monitors were the source of the problem when I had the first monitor. I could never connect/stay connected when near the monitor and couldn't figure out why until I read reviews. Turns out I still have the problem with this monitor. Good thing I have unlimited data.
The best you can get for the price!!!
October 5, 2015
2 years later, it's still running strong! Many of my friends have had to replace their similar monitors within about a year of use, and I must say, mine is running as strong as the day I installed it! VERY impressive. Every button works, the sound is great, picture is great, it holds a great charge, turns on and off when it is supposed to, I mean, the thing is a rockstar on doing it's job consistently! Also, the picture is clear, and everything is incredibly easy to install and use.I took away a star because I have had a number of issues with losing reception that just shouldn't be happening. I mean, my home is under 1100 sqft, and the handset has to be set up perfectly just to receive the image if the camera is set up in my daughter's room and I am in my own room. Not to mention that it renders the ability to talk to my daughter through it completely useless, as I can get maybe a word in before it cuts out from my room- which is where it usually is. It can be very frustrating, but we make it work. ***Note, if it does lose reception, it beeps very loudly (not obnoxious intervals though, just enough to wake you)- so no worry that it'll randomly lose reception in the middle of the night and then you won't hear your baby wake up. That's very comforting for me :)Also, the music feature is a mixed bag... It works great, and I have resorted to using it on MANY occasions because it doesn't shut off on a preset timer, and my daughter loves it! But, because the music comes out of so close to where the microphone is, it makes the monitor stay on, and *SERIOUSLY* amplifies and even somewhat distorts it on my end... so my daughter falling asleep to it means me also having it blasting in my room. Not what my husband and I want to sleep to! And even more importantly, because it IS so loud through the monitor, I can't hear my daughter over the music if she does wake up! Now that she's a toddler and sleeping through the night, it's less of an issue- but as an infant that made the music completely unusable.I would buy this product again because this is truly the best thing you can get for the money. I have friends with $400+ monitors that blow this one away (larger screens, moving cameras, better music function & reception, etc), but if you're on a budget and still want a lot of features and some seriously great reliability, this is your monitor 110%!
Decent camera, good price.
March 9, 2015
It's as I expected. I thought I would love that it charged in a dock instead of with a plug/cord, but this just means I have to get creative at night in order to be able to have the sound only with out the glow from the monitor. I read one question that said by turning the Vox off you could push the power button quickly and have the sound without the video possible. This is not possible or at least not that I could figure out. You can turn the monitor off, but you don't hear sound until the baby makes a sound loud enough to pick up. I'm sure this works fine, but I worry that if I can't hear at all times, I wont hear her when she cries. I know I'm just a worry wort, but I feel at ease when I can hear the baby breathing at all times. I have taken a dark wash cloth and laid over the monitor at night, that seems to work. I also think the night vision could be clearer. The last Levana camera I had had a better picture, but it's discontinued, so that why I chose this one. It was the most economical that was the closet to the Era model I used to have. The picture during the day is great, and the sound is good, too. I haven't had issues with range or interference at this time. I haven't had much of a chance to test that out yet. I like that I can zoom the camera from the monitor and that it displays the temperature. There are a lot of advantages for purchasing this camera. The price is good and so is the camera. After searching for several weeks for a camera/monitor, I finally came to the conclusion that I'm not going to get everything I want in one camera.

Good for a changing table or to convert a dresser
November 23, 2016
We bought this as a thicker, more comfortable changing pad than the thin one that came with our changing table. It fits that bill very well, and fits right on the table with a little bit of extra room around the sides. The straps are stitched directly to the back of this pad, so I ended up simply replacing the ones that came attached to the table, and it seems to be working so far. A standard size pad cover fit on this just fine even with the extra height (presumably why it's a little narrower than the other one). All in all, does just what we needed, and would work very well for someone setting up a normal dresser or table as a changing station.
good contour pad
August 21, 2016
I have to say it is so convenient to have this changing pad and it is really great for diaper changing and powdering for my baby. The contoured sides and a set of straps with buckle to make sure your child in securely while on the table, that give me great confident of protecting my baby from rolling off. And the straps can attach the pad to the dresser or table. So the total thing is secure.
Considering so many changing pads are pretty darn expensive
June 26, 2016
Considering so many changing pads are pretty darn expensive, I love that this one is super affordable and I can't really tell the difference from the other more expensive versions on the market. The fabric is kinda plastic-y feeling, so it doesn't absorb any grossness that might occur during diaper changes and it wipes clean. I like the safety strap feature for extra peace of mind when dealing with a wiggly baby. Mine didn't have a weird chemical smell at all, so not sure what the other reviewers are talking about there....maybe I just got lucky or they changed materials since then. Overall, I think it's a great value.
Good Value, Works Well
November 30, 2015
After seeing the prices the big box stores wanted for a changing table pad, we ran to Amazon. We picked this up for about 50% of the big box cost.So far we've gone through two of these pads and have been pleased. With both, we have only noticed a slight plastic smell that many other reviewers mentioned. Nothing overwhelming. We've found this pad works perfectly well and does seem to fit all standard covers. To answer some common questions:- The pad measures 31 1/2" long by 16" wide (see photos)- There is a set of straps to securely buckle your child in while on the table, and a third strap for securing (with a screw) the pad to the dresser or table. There are no "grips" on the bottom of the pad. Because of its plastic outside, it's actually quite slick when placed on a hard surface.- We've had no problems fitting several different standard covers, from different makers, to this padBe aware that, while the plastic itself is waterproof, the "quilted" perforations in the cover appear to let liquid soak in. I happened to be changing my son while our covers were being washed and he had a blowout. I cleaned up the poo immediately and expected it to wash away. But as you can see (photos attached), some of it seems to have gotten through and permanently stained the pad. Obviously a perfect storm of events for that to happen, but wanted to point it out.Overall a good purchase, especially for the price.
Must Have Changing Pad for a Great Price
June 14, 2015
This changing pad is great for the price and quality. It fits nicely on top of a changing table or dresser and the contoured sides help give peace of mind that baby can't just roll oven the edge (but this doesn't mean you should leave your baby unattended!). Easy to clean material of you have an accident that soaks through the changing pad cover.Any standard sized changing pad cover will fit over this. I've purchased summer infant brand covers, as well as other brands of changing pad covers and they all fit well.I took away one star because of how slippery this pad is. With or without a cover, it can easily slide all over the top of the dresser that we have it placed on. It would be nice if there was some sort of rubber strip or spot on the bottom, in the middle, so that it is non-slip.Besides the above reasoning, I still think this is a great purchase for anyone in need of a changing pad. It's a great price and I would recommend to any new parent looking for an affordable and nice quality changing pad.
Nice, but stinky initially
June 19, 2013
Yes, some of them do have a residual smell and it does stink if you put your nose to it. I let it air out and it's fine now. It's a nice pad. I think it's the right 'plushness' as it's not too soft that you can't do anything with it but not too hard that the poor child is freaking out.I sewed my own cover for it by just tracing it on extra fabric I had. Any spills and I just wash the cover and wipe that sucker off, I appreciate how easy it is to clean. Fits well in my changing table and I like the contoured sides. Good price for it being new.Update:After using this for 4 months, here's what I've noticed-It gets much softer after being used for a while, but still keeps its shape-If you don't have a cover and use it, be careful of getting anything from the diaper on it. The texturing has a design of tiny circles that are depressed and baby messes easily get in them and will dry without you knowing. They're small enough to where you can't get it clean with a wet wash cloth unless you really scrub. It's a little irritating because I don't see it being dirty initially and then I have to spend about 10 minutes cleaning it up.But, it still is great to have, it fits nicely on the changing table and gives my baby enough comfort during changings.

This is so easy to set up
August 22, 2016
This is so easy to set up, and works very well. The battery does not last as long as I would like it to - I have to plug it in every night otherwise it will die before we wake up in the morning. It does well to walk around with during nap time, though. The picture quality could be better, as could the reception. If I am in the living room directly below my son's bedroom, we have signal interruptions - it works most of the time, but occasionally blinks in and out. The nightlight is a good feature, provides an orange-ish light that is not too bright, but enough to find a pacifier in a dark crib. Volume works well, and the microphone is a good feature also. If you're thinking about buying this because of the lullaby features, DON'T! They are obnoxious, and play on a loop except that there is a break in between each song, so when it starts playing again, it is startling. Overall happy with this product, especially with the price we paid for it.
Levana Ayden leaves you wanting more out of it...
May 2, 2016
With the baby getting older and now sleeping in her own room upstairs, we needed some way we can keep an eye out on her while we were downstairs in the kitchen, living room or even in the front yard, after extensive review and consideration we settled with the Levana Ayden.PROS:*It has a nice size LED screen coming in at 3.5 inches so you would be able to get a bigger clearer view of your child.* The battery life is pretty decent lasted a close to 2 days with moderate use before having to be charged.* Has a two way intercom where you can talk to your child or even play some of the pre set music while your in the other room and using your monitor.* Easy to use easy to set up and I have been using this for a year and had no problems with the actual quality of the product.* The range is pretty good I had no issues with the range even while I was outside on the front porch and tested to about 700 feet before having to move closer to the camera.CONS:* The night vision mode is very unclear and grainy which is not as advertised.* The camera does not pan or tilt via the monitor meaning you have to manually position the camera just right and hope your child doesn't move out of view.* There is no WOW factor that makes this a great product its just very basic.* After a few months i did notice the video quality wasn't as good as when we first plugged it in.OVERALL:Like I said there is no major WOW factor with this monitor that just tells you go with this one it is advertised to be better then it really is and in my opinion it is just a middle of the road average video monitor it does the job so your not going to be terribly disappointing with it but then again it leaves you wishing that there was more to it, clearer screen auto tilt more features...For the money I would advise spending a few more dollars and getting one a little more advanced.
Works, but the night vision needs some work
December 2, 2015
We haven't had a chance to "use" this product yet (but we did play around with it), but we did get it set-up with no problems, easy to do and self explanatory. I do like it, and will not use all the functions like the multiple cameras or the Smart LED Indicator Ring, and it does work like advertise, mostly. Some of the things that I did not like about it, was that the instructions could have been more detailed, there is no troubleshooting section, just a really basic instructions. The reason is because after I got it set up, the screen was in black and white only, and this is supposed to be in color (and yes the light was on in the room). This is a big'y, after some trial and error found out if its to close to something black, it will switch to night vision. the bad thing is that the crib that we have is black, but figuring out if the camera is far enough away then you get a color video. But the whole distance thing is turning into an issue, because of where we have the camera mounted, once the video goes black and white, if we want color again we have to point the camera at a different location to get the color screen back. why buy a color baby monitor if it doesn't work.I wish the camera had a little more adjustment or freedom of movement.I'm not going to return it, got it on sale, and compared to the first baby monitor that we had, this is great.

July 18, 2015
Picture quality is above average in daylight, average with the night vision. Had a problem with the spare camera we purchased (white spots that wouldn't go away). Tried to return and replace it through the company, but they wanted us to ship it back and wait 2-3 weeks until the technician reviewed the problem and determined if replacement was needed, or to purchase a new unit and then get a refund after we returned the defective camera and they reviewed the problem. Not sure how the company expected us to wait 3 weeks when we have a newborn and use the camera every night?! We just returned it through Amazon, because Amazon is great. Had a new properly working camera in a few days and a box to return the defective one it. Thank you Amazon!Have now had the unit 3 months. Overall, works good. Happy with it. BUT - the battery just stopped holding a charge. Video monitor needs to be plugged in or it beeps low battery constantly. I will try again to contact the company for a replacement battery.
Get the extended warranty
July 18, 2015
Overall, it's a great product, but with a significant chance of LCD defect. The image is very clear, night vision is good, the battery life is fantastic, and we experienced no connectivity problems. We used it for almost 2 months without any troubles whatsoever, and then the LCD screen became defective. Every other horizontal line started displaying white, and over a day the entire image became so bright as to be useless. We returned it to Amazon for an identical model, and that one had a defective LCD screen right out of the box. The top 1/5 of the screen displayed solid white.I was very disappointed by this development, because it spoils an otherwise fantastic product with a great price. I hope that Levana can address this issue in future manufacturing. I do recommend the product...just be sure to get the extended warranty.
Great performance, responsive customer service, but lacking in durability and replacement parts.
May 6, 2015
When we first bought this monitor and started using it, I would have readily rated this a five star. Our home is a tri-level with 2300 sq ft, and no matter where the parent unit was located (whether in the house or in our yard), it still received a strong signal from my children's rooms. Everything was going great, until my now mobile, and incredibly busy 13-month-old got hold of the parent unit one day. He grabbed hold of the antenna, and somehow pulled it off. It's still connected by the wire, but the signal has never been the same. I have had to tape the antenna sticking up at a very odd angle to get any signal at all. And the signal we do get can be rather choppy. We can't hear our son from our bedroom when he is sleeping in his room without a monitor, so this is NOT OK. I contacted Levana to see if they sold the parent unit separately as a replacement. We already have two cameras for this thing (one for each of the kids' rooms), so the idea of buying an entire new set makes me cringe. We simply do not need a third camera! Levana was very quick to respond to my inquiry, and they were very polite, but they do not sell the parent unit separately. I then asked about the possibility of sending the unit in for repair. They do not offer repair service for their products. What I got was a 5% discount on a new monitor (with camera) and an apology. So, now I'm stuck with two cameras and a parent unit that probably will not last much longer. This set lasted less than a year. Definitely not worth the money I spent on it to begin with, considering the durability. I'm not complaining about the performance of the product, or about their customer service, but I do wish they would consider selling pieces of their sets separately in situations such as this where just one unit out of the set fails. And I am questioning the durability of their products, especially those with movable antennas, such as this one has. I'm writing this review in the hopes that I can spare someone else the trouble I've had. Word from the wise: if you buy this monitor, make sure you keep the parent unit out of reach of curious toddlers. Other than that issue though, this was a great monitor while it lasted!

Good features but does NOT work with two cameras
January 18, 2017
LOVE the features, but it won't work with two cameras and the picture is laughable. We had our monitor almost three years, and the picture has gotten grainy to the point of useless and the sound isn't smooth anymore. We tried to pair a second camera (as advertised) for our second child, and it consistently lost signal. We are in the market for a new monitor that works with two cameras. For the value, though, this monitor is the best if you only need one camera. I can't find another reasonably priced (or even expensive) monitor that has the battery life (I didn't realize how awesome this battery life was until I compared to others-it will last an entire night off the cradle!!), temperature sensor, two-way talk, lullabies (spun electronic and annoying but worked for my son).
Conflicted
December 1, 2016
We bought this product in September 2016 because 3 years ago we got one as a gift for our first baby, we like the product it was well done. When we bought this one we were expecting the same product, but there were differences not technology differences which are to be expected but quality ones. The music is different and not continuos which is very diferent than the older one we have, the monitor can not control the volume of the camera, the botons are in different positions, the 2 cameras and monitors are not compatible, and it looks lesser quality than the previous owed. Over all serves the purpose but not what we expected
Really like it
November 13, 2015
Bought this for my son's room and till now, I love it. The image is super clear with the light on or off. It really gives me and my husband peace of mind. Our little one will arrive in January but we already tried the system. Additionally I really like that I will be able to talk to my son through the monitor, it's great because you can soothe your baby while you get to them.As another plus, it displays the room temperature which I was looking for. Babies should sleep in rooms between 68f - 70f, so I really like that I will be able to handle his room temperature independently from the rest of the house according to the reading the monitor gives me.I will update my review as soon as I get more use out of it.****Update:Not working as I expected, the screen has turn black and white wether is day or night. At night the image is not clear at all. Ughhhh I had to buy another monitor and spend way more money than I spent in this one. I guess you get what you pay for!I will add a photo of the image during day time (zero color on it!)
It would be nice to have the option to turn off the video ...
September 2, 2015
This is a decent monitor for the price. We were replacing our Summer Infant monitor that lasted about 2.5 years and decided to try a new brand after the Summer Infant kept losing its signal. The picture quality is so-so and seems to flicker a bit, though nothing too noticeable. My one complaint (that's been mentioned by others here) is that when the monitor activates in VOX mode it lights up our entire room! It would be nice to have the option to turn off the video portion when it's not needed. We have to cover the monitor with dark material to try and salvage some darkness in our room. It also occasionally beeps loudly when it's activated (though not consistently). We haven't really used the lullaby or talk to baby feature. A nice feature is the temperature indicator (which we did not have with our Summer Infant monitor). We've only been using this about a week and it's getting the job done.
Already has a glitch in the monitor :( Could be a great product
April 11, 2015
Great pic quality daytime & nighttime (except when taking a pic of it w/ higher pixels)! Sound is a bit delayed and fuzzy but works. It could be a little more sensitive when in sleep mode, I'd like to know when she's stirring and starting to wake up, not already in a full wail, which you can hear w/o a monitor!! My daughter co-sleeps, so we only use this for nap time and only when I'm in the front of the house or away from the baby's room, so maybe 5-10x's in a little over a month. I haven't even had to recharge the parent unit yet! But there is now a line down the screen :( I've tried taking batteries out, turning parent unit and camera both on and off, nothing is making it go away. Had I had this longer or used more often, I might just deal w/ it but it's a bit frustrating when it is still a brand new product! I'm out of the 30 day sellers warranty (of course), so I'm going to call the manufacturer and see what they will do. Will update after.
After months of use, it's only ok
July 3, 2014
UPDATE: I decided to update my review after 6 months of use. I've downgraded two stars due to the following issues. The video quality, which I initially mentioned as just fine, is not good when the camera is placed over 5 feet away as it is now. It's pretty grainy and void of detail. The temperature gauge IS still useful, but I have to keep in mind that it's always 3 to 5 degrees off. As other users mentioned, the music button is way too easy to press and I've woken the baby a view times pushing it on accident. And also as mentioned, there is no sound-only option, which I've often hoped for at night. That said, I appreciate having the grainy picture over none at all, and the VOX option works pretty well. The (usually bright) monitor picture stays off while I'm sleeping until the baby makes noises and it pops on. The sensitivity level choices are very nice. At 3 out of 5 bars it comes on when the heater does, but at 2 out of 5 it stays off until the baby is making noise. I'm still glad we purchased as it was the cheapest we looked at and it's a decent monitor.ORIGINAL REVIEW: We've only used this for a few days, but it's been great. The video quality is just fine, even when the room is dark. The temperature gauge is useful. This wasn't the highest rated video monitor we looked at, but it was less than half the cost. It was a good choice.

Looks like a great changing pad
June 22, 2017
I compared the size of this product to the one I already own, and it appeared they should be the same size, 16x32, so I was assuming all of my changing pad covers would work on this. Not the case, it seems to be a couple inches longer and my PB changing pad covers do not fit this thing, when they are designed for a 16x32 pad... I haven't pulled a tape measure out to see which one lies about the size, but I'm guessing it's this one since it is the odd one out. Looks like a great changing pad, but disappointed about the size discrepancy.
About as expected for the price.
July 30, 2016
This is about what I expected. This was one of the least expensive contoured changing pads available and if I were to purchase another one, I would consider going up to something a little better. The outer fabric doesn't seems to stand a little above the inner pad around the contoured sides. The bottom, which they say is non skid doesn't seem to be non skid at all and it freely slides on top of the dresser I have it on. It does have a connector for attaching to a table or dresser but requires a screw to be attached to the back of the dresser. This will keep the pad from falling off the dresser but it will still slide back and forth on the dresser (how much depends on exactly how it was attached). This would be so much better if the bottom was more non skid. I may look into some type of velcro attachments to fix it to one spot better.
Holes in the side
June 27, 2016
I ordered this as a 'package already opened'. When I received this there were holes in the side of the changing pad, I ordered this knowing the package would be opened however I was not aware there were holes in the product. The product itself seems like its good quality and it fits in our changing table. I'd give it a better review if it came with no holes.
Too big for 2 out of 2 changing tables
May 18, 2016
Sad that this is advertised as fitting most changing tables... it is about 2 inches longer than the average changing table is. We have 2 different changing tables in the house and this is too big for both of them. Worst part is that it is a great changing pad. Water proof/resistant material and the wings on the side hold baby in well. I wanted to give this 5 stars but it's lucky to get what it is getting. I don't like when companies advertise so shady. It makes for bad customer experiences.
Great changing pad with the exception of the straps
December 17, 2015
This changing pad is decently padded and easy to clean. I gave it 3 stars just because of the straps. I know they are there for safety's sake but we never leave the baby on the changing table anyway. We just had the pad on the top of our babies dresser and the straps ended up really doing a number on the wood.We tried putting a blanket over the dresser to prevent any more damage and this just led to the changing table sliding all over the place. There is no where to put the straps away when not in use. I ended up ripping the straps off of ours and would recommend anyone buying this do the same.
Thick changing pad but beware - it slides around
October 14, 2013
We are having our third child in a few weeks and I purchased this changing pad as a replacement for a worn out one I bought 5 years ago.The old one had two straps (one on each end) that would secure it to our changing table, and I expected this Summer Infant one to be the same. Unfortunately, it has just one strap in the middle of the pad that secures it with a screw to the changing table. It slides all over the place and does not feel secure at all. I worry that with a wiggly baby it won't stay in place. It is a nice cushy changing pad, however, I was disappointed that there is only one strap to secure it, rather than the two my old one had.One the bright side, it was fairly easy to secure to the table, and it seems to be nice and cushy for the baby. I purchased a few changing pad covers for it and I think it will work.

Not even in the perfect lightning conditions did it ever seem so clear
March 2, 2016
Camera worked okay for a while. Now the monitor doesn't charge unless you wiggle the cable. We've only had it for 10 months and we barely used it to the extent that the charger shouldn't be so worn. Also the picture on the monitor is never as clear as the pictures they show of the monitor. Not even in the perfect lightning conditions did it ever seem so clear. The monitor makes a very loud beep when it's dying, I'm not sure if this is a feature or just an annoyance. I am working through the warranty process but fear because of the other reviews I've read here. Looking back realizing I spent $99 on this I'm shocked that the quality and warranty process is so sub par.
Night vision broken after 4 months - do not buy!
January 22, 2016
UPDATE 5/16/16: After ~4 months of daily use, our night vision is going out. Screen is getting darker and darker, and very staticky. I am changing this review from four stars to one star. I cannot recommend this baby monitor anymore.UPDATE 05/25/16: Changed to 2 stars. My electrical engineer husband figured out that it was the infrared LEDs that were going out. He bought an IR illuminator for security cameras and mounted that near the baby monitor, pointing into the crib. Now the baby monitor can "see" at night again. Here is the illuminator we are using. Phenas Home 48-led Cctv Ir Infrared Night Vision Illuminator Camera Leds Lamp I recommend that you read his review of the product as well: https://www.amazon.com/review/R2W38BVDEBUVNG/ref=cm_cr_rdp_perm?ie=UTF8&ASIN=B00GFDAJEIThe only downside of this fix is that you can see the infrared LEDs glowing at night. It doesn't seem to bother our baby and they aren't bright. (The crib doesn't glow red - the only way you see any red is if you are looking at the infrared LEDs themselves.) The cost of this is probably about the same as shipping the monitor back to the manufacturer for warranty work, but the benefit is you're not without a baby monitor for any period of time.------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------This monitor was purchased to replace an audio only monitor we had. The audio-only unit worked well for our baby as a newborn but we found ourselves needing more information as she got older (is she really awake or just making noises in her sleep?). We didn't want anything fancy - just a video unit which would let us see what was going on without walking into the nursery. This unit very much fits that bill.PROS:- Good video quality. The screen shows color when there's light, and at night it uses infrared and displays in black-and-white. The quality of the video is excellent.- Generously sized screen. Several other baby monitors I considered had tiny screens. This one has a screen that measures roughly 3.5" x x 2.5".- While the user manual sucks (more on that to come), probably the nicest feature is not detailed in the user manual: If you press the power button, it'll turn the screen off, and it will turn itself back on when there's sound detected. This way, it doesn't light up the entire room at night.CONS:- The user's manual needs work! It does not go into detail at all about the product. I even went to the manufacturer's website to see if I could find a more detailed version - and nope, it doesn't exist. Most of the features are self explanatory, but being told about how you can press the power button to go into a "stand by / power save " mode would've been nice.- Like other reviewers mention, the screen is really bright at night. Even with the contrast turned down all the way. Especially when you have just woken up and your eyes are adjusting to the brightness.- The sound from the unit is delayed. I have 2 audio only baby monitors that didn't have this problem (or wasn't significant enough to notice). It's not a huge deal but it does make it sound like there are 2 babies crying in 2 different rooms. For the price, I really can't complain.WISHES:I wish it was capable of displaying the time. Sometimes I see her wake up, and would like to know what time it is so I know how long she's slept. Instead, I have to go find my phone. (I'm a stay-at-home mom of a newborn... I couldn't even begin to tell you where I last put my watch!)
A list of Cons, Really no Pros- There are better options with other companies!
January 6, 2016
I do not recommend this monitor for anyone really. I currently have 1 Levana monitor- a cheaper version- and it works much better but the sound quality on that one is bad. This one loses signal CONSTANTLY and the range is laughable. I also have an additional camera and tried to hook it up to this monitor- pairing was easy but pointless because only the main camera will turn the monitor on if it hears a noise- the second camera has to be manually checked to see how baby is doing. This is ridiculous to me because I want to know when either baby cries, hence the reason why I have a monitor in the first place. The picture is good in daylight but the nightvision is blurry and grainy (this is not the case with my other Levana monitor). The company has terrible customer service and if you try to use your warrantly they will charge your credit card $99 to send you a replacement and they will only refund the money if their "techs" determine there is actually a problem with the monitor. I don't trust that they would be honest because I have had to contact them numerous times and each time they say it is probably a problem with my home and not the monitor (what??). The only good thing about this monitor is it does have peep mode but the con is it only works about 20% of the time. BUY SOMETHING ELSE! This will be going back to Amazon
Eh, not impressed at all after hours of research for the best video monitor
December 12, 2015
I had high hopes with this monitor. I have done tons of research and felt this would be an excellent solution, however I am pretty disappointed. We first started with a Motorola audio only monitor : http://www.amazon.com/Motorola-Digital-Monitor-Parent-MBP161TIMER-2/dp/B011JIXCWE/ref=sr_1_6?ie=UTF8&qid=1449940009&sr=8-6&keywords=motorola+audio+monitorAnd loved how easily it picked up sound, the range ability (could be outside my house doing yard work and STILL get signal), but didn't love that I couldn't see my little man. So I returned that monitor and got Lavana Ayden Digital Monitor. Here are my thoughts:Pros:1) Love being able to see my babe on the large screen and the night vision is good (for now, I know some people have issues with it dying later on)2) The long battery life is great!Cons:1) Terrible range- I can hardly go into my basement without it cutting out and crackling and I have a fairly small house (1200 sq ft)2) The LED light is super annoying an is always flashing3) It picks up the white noise machine more than the babies cries, and the white noise is super loud (louder than even in the room) through the monitor4) PEEP does NOT work well, even if the monitor is like 2 feet from the baby. He has to be screaming and moving around like a crazy man for the monitor to turn on, so I have to use the monitor in full use all of the time5) No pan tilt feature, only a pretty lame zoom optionThat being said, I am looking into other options... Might just go to a video motorola, and be ready to keep replacing the battery pack on the parent unit...seems like they make a much better product.
Just "OK". Revised after 10 + months of use.
August 26, 2015
*** Revised *** (8/2/16)The original unit that had said issues below stopped charging its own battery so after working with Levana and trying a new battery, they decided to replace the unit. I was surprised when they offered to cover shipping charges because its not usual. I did have to pay upfront for a new unit to come to me first because I did not want to be without one for our upcoming vacation but they assured me I will be reimbursed once they receive and test the defective unit. I have the new unit now and it seems to be working alright. If I had the option of just getting a refund I would have because I expect this unit will also give me trouble in the months to come, but I am grateful that I have a new (and working) unit.***Revised *** (5/3/16)I contacted Levana Customer Care regarding the issues below. In addition to those, the "noise sensitivity" feature seems to be defective now because the screen won't turn off after no noise like it used to. It stays on until I wake up from it to turn it off again. The customer service has been great. My only complaint is that they are making ME pay for the return shipping when I believe they should be responsible for it. I'll update if needed as things progress.***Revised***This started off as a great monitor and now it's just ok. The reception is terrible. If someone stands inbetween the monitor and camera the "out of range" white screen appears. It's also not performing as well as it used to. I have to charge it nightly now compared to the original review I had written. I would advise to keep looking.Original ReviewGreat baby monitor! We have a small 1400sf home so I get reception everywhere inside. Every once in a while when I work outside in the yard the monitor can't find the camera but overall its great. It automatically switches between color and night vision depending on the lighting. The lights around the arrow button go from green, to orange, to red depending on how loud your little one is being. The battery life of the monitor is fantastic! It lasted me seven, 9-10hr nights with some 1-3 hour naps in the day. I am very impressed.
Peep mode doesn't work with more than one camera
May 25, 2015
We have had this monitor for almost a year with one camera and it is great. Battery life of great, picture and sound are both great. Only complaint has been that darn flashing light.. I cannot even tell you how bright it is. We had to cover with electrical tape to be able to sleep. However, recently we bought a second camera because we're expecting a new baby (being able to monitor multiple cameras was the primary selling point). But peep mode apparently does not work with more than one camera paired (in cascade mode). This means the screen stays on constantly. Not only does that affect battery life but it affects my sleep too. I only want the screen on when it needs to be. We tried setting one camera as the primary to see if the other one would activate with noise and it doesn't. What good is that? If you're only using one camera then I recommend this monitor, but I'm very disappointed in the lack of flexibility with more than one camera.

August 19, 2017
This was an ok monitor, but I wish I would have bought something better. It loses connection all the freaking time and beeps incessantly. The darn beeping has woken me up in the night more times than my daughter has. There is no way to mute the monitor and do video only, which would be especially helpful when sleep training. The camera is pretty good, but only when placed very close to the crib, otherwise it's quite fuzzy. All that being said, we've been using it for 4 years and it's been ok. We've definitely gotten our money out of it, but I'm now looking to upgrade and wish I would have just purchased a nicer one in the first place.
Disappointed
May 23, 2016
The video quality is so poor at night I can hardly see our child in the crib. After we had the camera for only a few months, the camera started to have a halo effect that showed on the monitor, making it impossible to see the baby at night or daytime. The camera is supposed to have a smart function that puts the screen on standby if there is no noise, and turn on when the baby makes sounds. This function does not work properly, as I have gone into the room and our toddler was completely awake calling for us, but the camera remained on standby. There is no setting to allow you to keep the camera screen on at all times, and it will black out after several seconds if no sound is detected. If you don't periodically push the power button to reset this "smart function" you may not be alerted of your child calling/ crying/ trying to climb out of crib. Thus, defeating the purpose of a baby monitor in the first place. The only positives of this camera is the two way talk back feature and the lullaby music. I will go back to my more basic camera without these two functions since it is much clearer and the screen remains on at all times, but doesn't have sounds unless baby is calling.
Decent monitor, until it breaks.
December 27, 2015
I have tried so hard to support this brand's monitors, as I love the features and price points, but there are just too many issues. I owned this Jena monitor for six months before the night vision failed. The unit was very babied, as I had previously owned the Sophia, which also broke. This unit remained in one location and was never handled. Now the camera's light sensor no longer works and every time the screen is activated, it emits this loud, obnoxious beep. The function buttons' icons are also all wearing off. That said, I do love the features like VOX, the pleasant lullabies, and clear 2-way voice transmission. The camera has a very wide vertical range of movement, with no horizontal rotation. The parent unit is pretty bulky, but has been durable. The camera will only work when plugged in, which means that if the power goes out, you have no monitor. The parent unit sits on a charging base and holds a charge for a very long time, possibly days, when using the VOX function. Now, as for customer support, I've been so disappointed. As I stated, I owned this for 6 months when it failed. I emailed Levana, directly, but have almost given up on the arduous process of getting this fixed or replaced. After providing in-depth details, sending my invoice and personal info, I was told to mail them the unit, at MY expense, and then wait 2-3 weeks for the exchange to be processed and a unit to be sent back to me, provided they even determine the problem to be covered under their warranty. When I finally questioned how I was supposed to deal without a monitor for weeks, I was told they would make an exception for me if I provide my credit card info before they send me a replacement. Now I can obviously handle this, but the whole process has left a bad taste in my mouth. This is all on the heels of them offering no solution to a broken Sophia monitor, after only nine months of use, because the problem wasn't covered under the warranty. I should've gone with another brand, but I didn't and I got bitten again! You get what you pay for. These units can be bought at great price points, but they break easily. And when they break, good luck getting help from Levana!
Not wifi friendly & broke within first 2 weeks. Try another monitor.
September 21, 2015
I would have rated this 1 star if it didn't have such great features. If Levana could fix the wifi interference problem and failing cameras this would be a great unit!Pros:2 way communication works great.Love the night vision, though the picture quality wasn't great I could see everything just fine.Good battery life.Small convenient parent unit.Love the remote lullaby when his crib toys stop playing music I don't have to walk in there to play some music for him.Cons:My camera stopped working after 3 hours of use. When the unit unpaired with the camera the parent unit gives off a loud beeping sound. The unit to unit feedback is loud when you walk in the baby's room and accidently have the volume on.My Internet/wifi signal strength was severely handicapped. Could no longer stream video, use on demand for our satellite or use multiple devices.I returned this unit and am having a hard time choosing another because most of the reviews I'm finding mention all these same problems with many of the units. Thank goodness for Amazon's lenient return policy when there is a problem. Time to try another one.
Nearly Useless
January 31, 2015
Certainly not worth the listed price of $300. This monitor system is very sensitive to Electro-Magnetic interference. I find that when the receiver is placed within 15 feet of other electronic devices that the reception is very poor. Running the microwave to heat food causes the receiver to loose the connection to the transmitter (camera/mic) that is no further than 40 feet away. Paring the device to other transmitters is difficult and unintuitive. Frequently during the night, the signal fluctuates causing the receiver to cut in and out. This results in random and intermittent beeping that makes it very difficult to relax. The frame-rate and resolution on the cameras is very poor, but adequate. This monitor is really not even worth the $99 we paid for it.Update: After 3 months, the infrared illuminater on the camera burned out so the night-vision mode no longer works. The receiver constantly loses the signal and beeps at us incessantly. I have found myself wanting to throw it at the wall as hard as I can on several occasions.
Highly Disappointing Camera
August 18, 2013
I purchased this camera based on the relatively high reviews. We previously had a basic summer infant camera for our first child and needed a second camera for #2. Similar to the more recent reviews, this camera is generally of very low quality. The main drawbacks are the following:1. The video quality is extremely poor in low/no light. Our 3 year old summer monitor still has much better picture quality.2. The bright green light on the front of the camera is extremely bright and bothers our child.3. The video on the monitor will not turn off if you use a noise machine because the noise automatically triggers the monitor to show video. This is the case even if you turn off the VOX feature. The only feature we've found to be helpful is the temperature function.Bottom line - spend a little extra to get a something else. This camera is pretty terrible.

Poor quality and twisted shinny noisy covering. Sending this thin cushion back.
October 19, 2016
Very disappointed in the quality. The padding is too thin. The covering is twisted and will not stay flat against the cushion, straps are too chuncky. I will not go by the number of great reviews. This is a big waste of my time and now I need to hurry and find a replacement. The reviews are stacked perhaps from a free giveaway.

March 18, 2016
Soft and fits changing pad. As other reviewers have made mention, there is a stain where there is a hole in the bag. There is a round hole that exposes part of it so you can touch it and feel how soft it is. This circle or hole exposes it enough so it gets a blackish stain in that area, which happens to be right in the middle of it. Does not come out with washing. I'll keep it for the price but would not order again.
Tiny holes means this changing pad DOES NOT WIPE CLEAN
March 6, 2016
Tiny holes in the quilted plastic are impossible to clean! If baby pees or poops while being changed, it gets into the tiny holes and DOES NOT WIPE CLEAN easily. This sort of defeats the purpose of a changing pad. Look for a changing pad without tiny holes!
Not holding my breath...
January 7, 2016
Upon opening the package, I found it already had a rip the size of a quarter in the white cover. The stuffing is not immediately falling out, but gentle use may change that. I suspect this is due to the cheapness of the material.Otherwise, it is just OK. Hopefully it lasts at least a year - but given it already had a hole in it, I am not holding my breath.
Cheap and light
January 29, 2015
Kind of cheap and light. I had one of these for my son a few years back and it held up so well that I bought another for my new baby. The quality seems to be less. It is so light that unless you bolt it to the dresser (Who wants a hole drilled in your nice furniture??) it just slips and slides right off, especially with a kicking and active baby. I have had it for six months and was just changing the cover on it and noticed the pad has turned yellow all over (this is not dirt, we have had no accidents on it!). I would recommend going with something a little sturdier and heavier.
not great
September 1, 2014
i never thought i'd have an opinion on a changing pad but this one is hard to clean and the outer plastic layer does not fully protect water from soaking the inner cushion looking for reviews for a better one to replace mine.

Worst Baby Monitor Ever and the Company uses the "planned obsolescence" model for profit
April 6, 2017
The absolute worst baby monitor. Ever heard of "Planned Obsolescence"? It's when a manufacturer purposely designs a product to fail within a certain period of time forcing you to buy the new one, etc. In the case of this monitor, the cord stopped working (like clockwork I might add) in six months. I think the new one was $16 or $19 dollars. I went ahead and purchased it only to see the new one stop working in six months again! Now, it's April 5, 2017 and my monitor stopped working altogether. After having an electrician install the cameras and a painter patch and paint the surrounding areas, this monitor has cost me a small fortune and never worked that well to begin with. I would highly recommend buying anything else but this brand!
Disappointing levana product
March 5, 2017
Night mode never worked from first day of use, should have returned it but thought it was user error since there is no manual. Come to found out a lot of people have the same issues. Also the signal is horrible, I can be holding the monitor next to the camera and I lost signal. We had levana Jena for 3 years And we love it until it died few weeks before the baby. We tried to get another one and it was out of stock so we end up getting this one. Don't buy it, 50/50 chance this is a junk for you
did not last long
May 6, 2016
It was ok at first, only used for nap time and bed time. Then realized camera unit does not hold a charge. Ok...just always had it plugged in. Then sound stopped working on monitor unit (all before she was a year old). Been a busy first year but eventually got around to contacting company.I was told it's standard that the camera does not hold a charge bc it uses too much power for the batteries required. My question was well why does it say I can use it without being plugged in? Or why did I waste my money on buying so many batteries hoping it would hold a charge? Then in regards to the sound on the monitor, they advised I buy a new one since my one year warranty is up. I refuse to spend more money on a company who makes a device that lasts for a year (conveniently in line with one year warranty ) and their only resolve is to make another purchase.Unfortunately I will need to buy another, just not from this company.
Garbage DO NOT BUY
February 18, 2016
Heed the warnings of other reviewers! I read quite a few that said the night vision camera stopped working. I thought they must've just had defective units. Well here I am after 6 weeks of use and the picture is so grainy I can't make anything out, the screen is almost completely black. After 6 WEEKS! How can they get away with selling a product that is such complete garbage?! It was great the first few weeks, has really been deteriorating this past week for no reason. I'm hoping I can return it, wish me luck. Don't waste your time with this. I had a Sony that worked great for over a year until I dropped the parent unit down the stairs. I'll be looking for another one of those or I've heard good things about Motorola. This is my second Levana, both have been garbage.
Buy a better monitor
October 30, 2015
Read the first 10 reviews then don't buy this product. I second every single pro/con there. 6 months in and this is junk-night vision doesn't work. Clip & antenna broke off (just regular usage, not dropping it/letting baby touch it/etc). Don't waste your money. Spend an extra $50 & get a Motorola or Summer Infant device. At elast their customer service AND device are better. Levana wanted me to pay to ship it to them, make repairs and charge me, and send it back refurbished....for DESIGN flaws & a shoddy product they made!!!! Not worth your time, money, or headache.
poor video quality, poor customer service
August 6, 2015
I purchased the Levana Ayden in February 2015. In April, I purchased an additional camera to use in the playroom. After using the monitor for six months, the night vision feature stopped working. Basically, you only see a black screen at nighttime. Levana clearly advertises on its website that Ayden comes with a one-year warranty. I assumed this means they would quickly replace my defective camera. I was very wrong. The first customer service representative did tell me the monitor would be replaced. I was told to simply provide proof of purchase and give them my address and I would receive a return authorization for a new monitor. However, I was later contacted by another customer service representative, who told me the following:1. I would need to cover the costs to ship back the defective camera.2. The defective camera would then be tested by a technician, which takes 2-3 weeks (therefore, I would be without a baby monitor for 2-3 weeks).3. If I did not want to wait 2-3 weeks, they would send me immediately a replacement monitor…if I pay a deposit.4. If they determine the unit is in fact defective, the replacement unit would be a used monitor. This does not feel like a company that wants to stand behind the quality of their products. The one-year warranty is clearly not meant to be executed.

Dont buy this Im glad it did at least beep to let me know ...
September 23, 2016
This monitor has been suddenly not holding a charge even when placed on the charger. Last night WHILE on the charger it was dying and I was unable to get it to charge so it died on me. This happened at 2:30 AM my sons room is far enough away and he sleeps with a noise machine that theres no way that I would be able to hear him when he wakes and cries. So I had to sleep on the floor in this room to ensure I was there when he woke. This has been happening for the last few weeks and eventually it would magically start to charge. Last night after trying to tinker with it for 30mins I gave up and slept on the hard floor. Dont buy this Im glad it did at least beep to let me know it was dying otherwise it would have died and I would have had no idea.
Keep looking...
June 4, 2016
I am really surprised this product has such good reviews when there is a string of reviews that talk about their night vision dying after a short period of use. We have owned 3 Levana monitors so I didnt really think twice about ordering this one. However, like MANY other reviewers have commented, after 3 months of use our night vision has just stopped working. (Just in time for LO to start rolling over in crib and now i can see a thing on the monitor!) So this seems to be a defect in the camera. I have contacted the manufacturer and hopefully they will replace the camera. I will keep this updated in regards to their response since this seems to be a prevalent issue. As a side note that is more to do with design preference, I also agree with the reviews that say the buttons are poorly placed and I too hit the music button all the time waking up my sleeping infant. It has to do with where the buttons are when it is sitting in the charger and being on the front of the monitor right where your thumb goes when you grab it.If they replace our camera i can get over the music button (maybe take it off like other did) but i all, this is not a monitor i would recommend to anyone!!Update: customer service wanted us to send them the unit for testing. They would replace it if they determined the unit was defective via ground shipping. So if you are willing to be with out your unit for several weeks you can try this route. Personally i am not in a position of feeling comfortable with out a monitor for any more than a few nights. they will not overnight or rush your order even if it is defective. They will however, send you a unit for you to send back while they test but that takes 3-7 days to process and comes via ground shipping again.
Sleepless nights #momsdobtneedsleepanyways
September 13, 2015
Pros:-the screen in daylight looks like it is in HD-you can sync up to 4 monitors to it-night quality is ok-It comes with a huge (and I mean huge) clip so if you are wearing that extra large belt you have always wanted to wear, you can now. Your baby monitor will clip to it :)-if you ever wondered what the temperature is in the next room over, worry no moreCons--if you live in a two story home, this monitor will continue to beep TX and wake you telling you that you have lost transmission with the monitor that is on the opposite floor. Which is probably the more critical of the two!!!-the music option button is on the front. When you grab the monitor you must never push this button. Who the h e double hockey stick puts a music button on a monitor anyway. Might as well put an alarm on it that blows a horn or sounds of a train right before it crashes into you.-the talk back walkie talkie feature....oh my. Where do I begin. If you want to talk to your child just go in the room....both of my children (ages 1 and 3) where scared out of their minds. And why shouldn't they be... My voice was coming out of the flipping walls. Both were clawing their way out the door before I could walk three steps into their rooms. If you want your child to sleep in your room until they are I imagine 11 or 12 then please use this feature and you will no longer need the camera. Problem solved!!!-there is also the peak a boo thought your power went out feature. So it's plugged in but will loose monitor and sound if baby is not making sounds. Really. So it basically scares you out of your sleep because the screen and sound completely shut down. What the!!!! Ugh. IKEA furniture come with better instructions so this might be a feature you can turn off but unfortunately have not figured this one out.
Literally the worst/most disappointing product I have ever bought
October 17, 2014
HORRIBLE. I am not hard to please. All I needed was to be able to see my baby. Plugged in the monitor and shortly after, put my baby to sleep. The brightness started cycling from very dark, medium, very bright, then repeat. I tried adjusting the brightness and turning on and off the nightlife, but it kept going. It finally settled on very dark. So dad that I couldn't possibly see my baby. Talked to a customer service on their live chat, who asked me to put it in a light room. Mmkay. We sleep in the dark around here. It mostly worked in the light and in the complete dark (tested in my bathroom), but if there's a window in your room and any amount of light comes in, without having the lights on, it wouldn't work. The rep let me know that she could authorize for me to send it back, but a technician would need to test it, and that would take 3-4 weeks after they received it. I need the monitor now! She said they could "advance" me a new one, but they would need to charge a "deposit", and they wouldn't only credit that deposit if the technician found the first set to be defective. Oh and the deposit is the full price I paid! WTF?! I said "I'll just return it, thanks". The rep said she understood and signed off the chat. What horrible, horrible customer service. I have now checked and it seems that you have to pay and jump through about 20 hoops just to return the broken monitor they sent me. It's so unfair. I need a monitor and would love for this one to work, but it doesn't, so now I'm getting punished. I will never buy a Levana product again and I will warn every single person I know against them. I am a Mom of a 3 year old, and 6 month old, I work and am in grad school. Now I'm stuck having to stress over returning this defective product and not having a monitor to see my baby. I've maybe written 1 other bad review in my life. This is the most disappointing product I've probably ever bought. Save yourself all of the trouble, especially because their customer service is horrific.
If you like your sleep, do not buy
August 21, 2014
I don't normally review but I despise this so much I tought I would give it a whirl. We purchased this monitor when the sound on our previous unit went out. (Prior to that it worked perfectly) I read the reviews and figured with an overly positive user rating, we would be safe purchasing this product; I was wrong... My biggest complaint is that it beeps that it has no single all day and night. When I am standing in my kitchen, my girls rooms are directly above me and it lets off a loud beep and states that there is no signal. If that was not annoying enough, it does it all night as well. Two nights ago, it alerted me to no signal 3 times between 4:30-6:30am beeping 16 times each time. The night before it beeped no signal 7 different times. What is the point of the monitor if it never can find the camara? If you value your sleep and use the monitor at night, don't buy this product.
Disconnected all night
June 4, 2014
The picture looked great, the setup was pretty easy... i was even able to pair a 2nd camera with the unit pretty easiliy, but then in the middle of the night it started beeping very loudly and said "Disconnected" on the screen. After a few seconds the picture came back... then 20 minutes later it did the same thing again.... and this continued all night long...My call to customer service was completely unhelpful. Said they had never heard of one doing this before and knew of no remedy except to replace it. If I would send it directly to them they would replace it in 2-3 weeks. I said no thank you.I would actually rate this very high if it wasn't for the disconnect issue. The picture is great and the features seem really nice. But it didn't survive the first night in my house.

Not Waterproof - Pee is absorbed into the quilting
January 8, 2017
NOT Waterproof! The pee will NOT stay on the surface of the pad, rather it will sink INTO the quilting holes. Impossible to clean the stains as the pee is stuck underneath the surface in the foam.
Horrible smell! & Too big.

The chemical smell that hit me when I opened the box (the pad was still in a plastic wrapper) gave me a headache that lasted for hours. Called to return it immediately. Too big for my changing table anyway.
Did not like!

I felt the plastic made a funny noise and separated from the base. I recommend the colgate changing pad over this one! Not a fan.

This has little holes it it and gets moldy if little one has an accident on it!!!!! The holes are not a defect! This is just the way it's manufactured! Do not buy. Even if you clean the accident immediately, liquid leaks in and you cannot get it out. Thus...the mold.
Horrible

Read all the great reviews and figured this would be perfect for what I needed. I was wrong. Its too big to fit onto my average size changing table, the straps on it won't snap together so it doesn't move and my cover won't even go on it because of the size. I haven't even had a chance to use it and the price I paid isn't worth sending it back for a refund for a new one.
Four Stars

After using it for about 5 months, with maybe a few peeing/pooping accidents that made it to the pad, i had to throw it away due to the fact that the pad was reeking of urine, no matter how much cleaning i did. DEFINITELY NOT 100 PERCENT WATER PROOF!
