Great sound systemApril 18, 2016 Great sound system. Crystal clear audio on music and movies. The bass is just loud enough and isn't overpowering. All in all a good sound system. The only complaint is that the output is dolby digital unless you are using the blue ray player which has netflix built in then it is dolby digital plus. I just use the blueray player for netflix and it is not a big complaint just frustrating as i have a roku 3 which is super fast. Good system for people a reasonable price.March 20, 2016 Has worked great for me so far. I can crank it up in the house with volume left to go and still here my music blaring in every room while I am cleaning. The surround sound is awesome while watching movies and the wireless rear speaker unit has worked flawlessly. Just so you know though the rear speakers are actually wired to the wireless unit it really just eliminates the cord from the rear speakers to the blu-ray player. I have had only good experiences with these style of units and the one I am replacing was a regent dvd player from 2001 and the disc stopped reading. All in all super happy with it and performs much better than my old one. Great system for a great price.September 23, 2015 Works great with my new Samsung 70" Smart Tv!! Install only took about 30 minutes. Sound setup took a little bit longer but that is only because I am very picky about my sound. I played with the equalizer and rear speakers for a good 30 minutes before getting the sound just right.Works great with my Bluetooth Devices. | this system is fairly easy to set upJuly 21, 2017 this system is fairly easy to set up, fills the 12x14 room with sound and no distortion at a high level of volume, i would recommend this system for anyone looking of a low cost home theater system . The brand new one came quickly as well. It was replacing a Sony. Works well, has a great bluray player. Sound isn't as good as the Sony but isn't bad. The Sony had player issues then stopped working. I don't like the speakers that much either, the way to hang them is awkward. I have the sony system in my bedroom and apart from the fact that the sony does not have a shuffle option, I prefer the sony system. | Sound quality doesn't impress despite great features.September 15, 2017 Really good home theater system, but the subwoofer SUCKS!! I've adjusted bass settings as high as they'll go, and in every source. It doesn't make you notice it. Personally, I want a sub that is too loud so I can turn it down. A sub that you can't be annoyed by at its highest level is inadequate.Also, surround options don't allow you to choose a single type of speaker level on the individual surround settings. It defaults to a preset surround speaker level.If I didn't know any better, this system would be a great, super cheap, solution for theater surround, however, it leaves me unsatisfied. Good when its workingMarch 19, 2017 Good when its working, but there are two issues, one hardware, one software.(1) Rear speakers: sometimes they will work for a month at a time, then all of a sudden, every day for a week in a row, they will drop out, and i will have to re-sync them again the next day. They are only 15' away, and have direct line of sight. You would think Samsung would have a compatible sound system with it own TV. Defective ProductsJuly 26, 2016 It arrived with a broken speaker and two faulty speaker wires. You couldn't know if the speakers were broken until I tested every speaker as well as all of the wires. The manual doesn't specify if you should use optic cable or component and when I asked the email support they never responded. The online support just sent me links as I struggled to set the whole system up and register it. The S/N is on the back of the Blue Ray player and so small that even with a magnifying glass I couldn't read it. I had to take a photo with a flash and then blow up the photo to get the S/N. The customer service person that I spoke to actually had the nerve to respond to the broken speaker and two defective wires, "It's lucky that you're still under warranty." ?!! I just bought the thing and it came broken and I'm lucky that it's warrantied? They have a really screwed up idea about customer service and quality. It's good, everything works BUT the only inputs it has ...August 29, 2015 This is the "2015" model. It's good, everything works BUT the only inputs it has are RCA (component) and Optical. No HDMI inputs. This means if you want to hook up your XBOK, you've got to get an HDMI to RCA cable, and listen to ANALOG sound rather than digital. You see all that testing and resetting went fine while the unit was operatingJuly 26, 2016 after using this Samsung home theater for about a week I noticed that the satellite power unit for the surround wireless speakers had a problem. After a time operated the unit would simply lose power and shut down. Wait a few minutes and it returned to normal operation. This happened several times over. I contacted Samsung as requested by the Amazon return site and they gave me nothing but frustration. After awhile on the phone with them testing the unit, resetting the unit, but still unable to convince them I had the problem. You see all that testing and resetting went fine while the unit was operating, it was only the few minutes of shutdown it wouldn't. They finally told me to send my unit in to them for testing and it would take several weeks minimum before they returned it to me. I asked if they would simply send me another satellite receiver and I would return the faulty one avoiding all that time without my system and they would not. I will put this theater system with the back yard TV and use it until it no longer works at all, and replace my indoor system with another but it will not be a Samsung. | | | | |

| Samsung is not what it used to be NEW--- to---JUNK in 10 months!!October 27, 2017 I have not even owned this one year yet and it's almost useless. About 3 months after buying it the speakers started to make a crackling noise that would just come out of nowhere which turned into loud static noise. I would be watching tv or listening to music and BAM very loud static blaring over the speakers and no matter what I did it wouldn't stop so I would turn it off and it might be 10 minutes or 2 days but eventually I would turn it on to check it and it would be back to normal. This went on for months until recently now the speakers just stop putting any sound out at all, it may be 2 min after turning it on or 4 hours after and the only way to get the sound back is to physically unplug the power from the back of the unit and wait a bit then plug it back in. In addition to that the remote and buttons on the unit become unresponsive all except the power and volume and unplugging the unit fixes this but for only a very short time and then it becomes unresponsive again. Lastly the bluetooth will not connect or even show up on my device until I unplug the unit. The sound was pretty good when it worked just wished it would have lasted longer that 3 months before issues started and 10 months before it was just a pile of junk. Samsung is not what it used to be I would not recommend this system. Not recommended - this will give you maybe a year's functionality before dying and there's no customer support.October 13, 2017 I purchased this 18 months ago and it was working ok - sound quality as expected. I also have a Samsung smart tv.A month ago the right frontand subwoofer speakers stopped working. There was no power surge or any physical changes. I checked for a firmware update, checked connections, ran the speaker tests - all the troubleshooting steps.Samsung support went through these steps with me and confirmed it's a problem with the physical unit: I need to mail it into one of their repair centers and since it is out of warranty, they will charge me - and there's no limitation so that charge can be whatever they want. The cost of this system basically translates to a year's worth of usage.There are too many other manufacturers of sounds systems, and with this choice and improved technologies, as well as this experience I will not buy Samsung again.I see from reviews on Amazon and elsewhere that many customers have experience the same, and that it's even worse if you purchase their extended warranty. If you want surround sound, my recommendation is to go with a system where the manufacturer stands by their product, or try some of the newer tech like soundbars and/or wireless setups.
